Acts Chapter 1

40 Days of FIRE

Prayer Day 1:

Acts Ch.1. The early church began at the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The disciples were disillusioned and feared for their lives after Jesus’ death, but thy soon became fearless and risked everything to tell the world about their Risen Savior. As you pray today offer God thanks for sending His only Son to pay the debt of our sin with His death. Bind the spirit of fear and loose courage into the church body to boldly go teach the Gospel.

JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.

Acts 1

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

  1. Verse 14 MSG “They agreed they were in this for good, completely together in prayer, the women included. Also Jesus’ mother, Mary, and his brothers.” Lord bind us together in unity to seek after you and devote ourselves in prayer in this 40 Days of FIRE.

  2. People doubted that Jesus is alive but to people who didn’t doubt he showed himself .the Holy Ghost was promised and they would receive power.they should be witnesses. If you wanna know why you ain’t getting your miracle or your blessing ? Stop and ask yourself . have i Doubted lately.doubting can stop an blessing or can stop Jesus from showing himself. We gotta stay kingdom minded and have kingdom faith. So we can do kingdom outreach . which would lead to kingdom prayer. And then Kingdom worship . so we can have kingdom Revival. I’m talking Fire like never before.

  3. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

  4. Praying daily is essential in our walk with God. We cannot allow prayer to fade away from our life. We must embrace prayer because it is our connection with God. If we are going to stand in this evil day, we must learn how to war through prayer. Prayer is how we receive instructions for the battle plan of our life.

  5. 23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

If we deny God’s will and purpose for our lives, He will send someone else in your place.

  6. Acts 1

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Power of the Holy Ghost to reach the lost in Jesus Name. Lord lead us to soul searching for a Truth. Open opportunity to speak to not just 1 but multitudes. In Jesus Name

  7. 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Chists passion, giving himself completely, Will, strength, body, for mankind.
We need to followers and believers of like passion. A people completely sold out to His cause. That we can also display and feel that love he had for the lost.

Christ. The ultimate example of passion.

  8. Acts1:20 (English Amp) For in the book of Psalms it is written, Let his place of resistance becomes deserted and gloomy, and let there be no one to live in it; and
( again), Let another take his position or overseership.[ Psalms109:8] Let his days be few; and let another take his office and charge. Here is David being instructed to be in charge who wrote so many of the psalms, had a genuine interest in establishing worship and may have begun the liturgical use of numerous psalms. It base on variety of feelings, emotions, attitudes, and interests. The Holy Ghost will be will be your overseer of your life.

  9. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

They didn’t believe that Jesus was alive they denied that he was Jesus promise the Holy Ghost and when the time comes they will receive power when receive the Holy Ghost what a wonderful gift GOD has giving us

  10. 3. “…He showed His apostles that He was alive – appearing to them repeatedly over a period of 40 DAYS (of FIRE), giving them many convincing proofs of His resurrection. As before, He spoke constantly of the KINGDOM of God…” Voice

When we put God first and constantly speak of His Kingdom, He will appear to us through power and demonstrations of His Spirit, with many convincing proofs that He is alive!

  11. 22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

These two followed Jesus from the time that John the Baptist baptized Jesus, until the upper room for the Holy Ghost. Only one got remembered for his role, Matthias.
Don’t let frustration and complacency set in, you might just miss your shot.

  12. I can only imagine what they felt. To have their mentor assend into heaven and be charged with having to carry on such a great message to the world! Oh, wait … that is the same privilege we have today. Jesus’ death serves the purpose of saving me but also for me to be the vessel he uses to show others. We cannot allow fear to stop us from doing His will but let us walk in purpose.

  13. Once when he was eating with then, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the father, sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before.
    Acts 1:4 NLT

    The importance of obedience.

  14. iLove the Kingdom
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

The scripture here intentionally brings proof to the resurrected Savior. The Word says that Jesus “showed himself alive” and also that he was “seen” of the disciples for 40 days and that he “spoke” to them about the Kingdom of God. Ok, so what does all that mean? It means that there is true “life” after death. We’re not all going to be floating around as spirits, but we will be like Jesus with a real body, able to talk, walk, and fellowship. Jesus also ate a meal after his resurrection which means we will eat just as well.

    Jesus Appears to His Disciples
Luk 24:36 And just as they were telling about it, Jesus Himself was suddenly standing there among them. “Peace be with you,” He said.
Luk 24:37 But the whole group was startled and frightened, thinking they were seeing a ghost!
Luk 24:38 “Why are you frightened?” He asked. “Why are your hearts filled with doubt?
Luk 24:39 Look at My hands. Look at My feet. You can see that it’s really Me. Touch Me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do.”
Luk 24:40 As He spoke, He showed them His hands and His feet.
Luk 24:41 Still they stood there in disbelief, filled with joy and wonder. Then He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
Luk 24:42 They gave Him a piece of broiled fish,
Luk 24:43 and He ate it as they watched.

    You see the following:
Jesus ate fish. See verse 42 (Not just fruit)
Jesus has a body you can touch (see verse 39)

We too will be just like Jesus when our bodies are raised from the grave in the rapture. We will be able to feel, taste, touch, walk, jump, sing, talk, fellowship, and do everything Jesus was able to do. And oh by the way… We are not all just going to chill in heaven…nope…

    Revelation 21:1-5 NLT

    (1) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.
    (2) And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
    (3) I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among His people! He will live with them, and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them.
    (4) He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
    (5) And the One sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then He said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

We will still live here on earth but it will all be new and God will wipe away all tears and He will be our King!

  15. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

We will always get more accomplished when we become unified and mind and in spirit. The devil spends more time trying to divide and cause issues between the church then most any other attack using backbiting and gossiping as is tactics, but he has no power over us and if we remain unified these forty days of fire can ignite us and to a whole new realm spiritually we can accomplish the things that God has called us to do together.

  16. “Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I love it! It doesn’t say they companied Him just part of the time but ALL THE TIME.
There are ways you can accompany the Lord all times and this chapter says it plain as day. Just look down a few verses.

“Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained TO BE A WITNESS with us of his resurrection.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Oh lawd and that was the very next verse hold on it gets better!
“AND THEY PRAYED, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    You see that THEY PRAYED
That’s right there in the Bible, we could go on and on but the question is are you gonna do it?
Nobody is perfect and not everyone prays every single day. But if you want your relationship with God to strengthen try talking to Him.
    Try talking about Him!

iBless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  17. And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
    Acts 1:7 KJV

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
    Acts 1:8 KJV
I don’t need to know time of the seasons, but I need to make sure but the Holy Ghost is upon me .when I give my testimony I don’t want to give a false testimony. Thank you for thatH G host Power.

  18. 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Since ISM is doing Consuming Passion, the word passion immediately stuck out to me in this verse; at first though it didn’t make sense. Passion here means the suffering Jesus went through. Then I realized passion for the Kingdom requires sacrifice. Sacrifice is unsettling, it stirs us up and often makes us more uncomfortable before the reward of it is felt and seen. I’m praying for every young person to be shaken with the fire of God and burn with consuming passion so that we are purified and reflecting the face of God. We’re gonna lose some things these next 40 days and it may be unsettling at first, but hallelujah anyhow because the reward of being consumed by the Spirit and being enthralled in The Kingdom is far greater than anything I could potentially suffer or sacrifice. It’s all for Him!

  19. “Brothers,” he said, “the Scriptures had to be fulfilled concerning Judas, who guided those who arrested Jesus. This was predicted long ago by the Holy Spirit, speaking through King David.
Acts of the Apostles 1:16 NLT
Praise The LORD, and even now, the word of GOD is being fulfilled!

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
    2 Peter 3:9 KJV
    He is faithful and true.

  20. 3 After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proves that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of 40 days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: do not leave Jerusalem, wait for the gift my father promised which you have heard me speak about.
5 For John baptize with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

  21. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

This is the mission of the first church and ours too: to be witnesses of him where you can reach. We each can reach different areas that no one else has access to like our jobs and neighborhoods. Reach out to whosoever will where God has placed you and tell someone your testimony of what God has done for you.

  22. 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

  23. Acts 1:14, “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.”

“All continued with one accord,” UNITY!

  24. THY KINGDOM COME
    WAIT FOR THE PROMISE

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Our Western culture and human nature tempt us to impatience. From the smallest of babies we are trained to get what we want. When a newborn baby cries, careful parents go through the short list of probably causes food, diaper, gas, lonely etc. So the mind of an infant is trained to get what they want, and most parents do it with exponential speed. Only to find that we will spend the rest of their lives using discipline to untrained them and not give them everything they want when they want it.

This is why many people struggle with the FAITH element or concept of The Kingdom of GOD. JESUS affirmed their PROMISE to the disciples, encouraged their direction and told them to GO WAIT.

Some of the most frustrating time spent these days is TIME waiting, in traffic, in lines, in waiting rooms or in OBEDIENCE and FAITH. We have learned through the WORD of GOD that waiting is a challenge for even the greatest men of FAITH.

As we focus our efforts in these 40 Days of FIRE on The Kingdom of GOD, may JESUS help us WAIT for HIS Promise. Remember about 500 went to Jerusalem, but only 120 WAITED.

  25. my prayer today is that we will have the revival of the book of acts! Eve. Greater revival then the book of acts. That our faith will rise and overwhelm this city!!

    \\kingdom

  26. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

We have power through the Holy Ghost to do a work for the betterment of God’s Kingdom.

  27. 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

I’m not sure about everyone else, but the way I read can be quite interesting. I can read to fast and mentally place words that aren’t even there.

For example, when I read this verse I first read:

“To whom it may concern he shewed himself alive after his passion…”. As I read it, I thought hmm I don’t think I’ve ever read “to whom it may concern” in the bible. It wasn’t till I reread the chapter that I noticed that in fact, it did not say “to whom it may concern”.

But, I like that way it sounds so:

To whom it may concern; that after the sacrifice of the next 40 days, you will have the proof you need to see that Thy Kingdom reigns in the house. That due to the shift, you will continually hear about the MIRACLES, SIGNS, and WONDERS that are taking place. To whom it may concern Thy Kingdom Come.

Through the boldness of the Holy Ghost we must share this with everyone, cause the reality is it “concerns” everyone!

  28. “During the forty days after he suffered and died, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God. Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  29. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

We have to work and have the holy ghost in us but also we need to show that the holy ghost has worked in us and through us and we will receive that power that has been promised to us. But we also need to share it with people everywhere that they can see that we are different that they see something that they havent seen before, we need to show the world that the lives in us.

  30. 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

When Jesus robed Himself in flesh and came to this earth, He brought the Kingdom of God with Him. When He ascended back to heaven, He left His Kingdom to be in the hearts of His people. So we as believers are to spread His Kingdom throughout this world. Over these next 40 days I believe we will see His Kingdom come like never before!

  31. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

  32. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” NLT

We all have that power in us, but we have to keep it burning in us! We can’t sit down and let it settle in us, we need to let it GROW, and stay on God’s path, if we want to be apart of His KINGDOM we have to be KINGDOM minded!

  33. …These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
…And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,) Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
…And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
…And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
…And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
    Acts 1:14‭-‬17‭, ‬20‭, ‬23‭-‬24‭, ‬26 KJV

Things of note among these pre-Holy-Ghost-filled disciples:
    1) They ALL CONTINUED in prayer. They didn’t just start out in prayer, and then their fever waned. They didn’t relegate the duty of prayer to just the few whom they felt were good at it. They ALL made prayer a lifestyle.
    2) They were UNITED. They were of one mind and of one accord–to obey and receive. They lifted up a prayer of unity, synergizing each voice until the power of God set every one of them on fire.
    3) The men and women prayed together. This was a novel concept among Jews, but unity was more important than tradition.
    4) Mary, the mother of Jesus, had to follow the same plan as all the others. She needed redemption like everyone else. She was praying with the others. She was never a receiver of the prayers of others.
    5) They knew the Scripture and were cognizant of their duty to fulfill it.
    6) They recognized the authority given to Peter and submitted to it.
    7) There was no politicking for position–only prayer, unity, and submission. They were willing to trust God to decide. They had the humility and faith to believe that God controlled the lots, that God’s will would be shown, and that God’s choices and ways were best. Thus, they had an election with no dissention.
    8) Faith, prayer, Scripture, unity, humility, and submission are the keys to fulfilling God’s plans on Earth and to seeing the power of God poured out on the church. Our church cannot prosper with only a few of these. We must recognize and synergize with God’s Word, His plan, and His appointed authorities over us.

  34. Acts 1:8 But yet shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye until the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Waiting is part of necessary preparation for reception of God’s guidance and sanction.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

NOW GO ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost :Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and ,lo,I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:19

  35. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The power that God has is available to all. It is the power to live above sin, to be victorious, to be over comers. Not only is this power for us but it is unto the whole world. That means in Jerusalem, Judaea and to the uttermost part of the earth. God wants us to spread His power all over the word. Power to do what? The power to be witnesses and be a banner for Jesus.

  36. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
God had given us this precious gift so that we can grow to be more like Him.He is a holy God. Let us put away those things which will keep us from becoming more like Him. ” Because it is written,Be ye holy; for I am holy “(I Pet 1:16)

  37. 7 He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know.

No one knows when the Lord will return. We only have to be prepared for when the Lord comes for his people. Only worry about living for God, and when the trumpet sounds, you’ll be ready!

  38. 1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Simple and it’s as hard as WE make it!!!
We can’t teach if we don’t practice what we preach

  39. 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

It’s easy to fall into the trap of wanting to know every detail , only to find out that it was a distraction from accomplishing the mission. Trusting in GOD is what keeps us from distractions ………

  40. 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

    40 days of Fire

The Power of the Holy Ghost. The fire of the Holy Ghost. For the next 40 days we will be on a journey to seek out the fire of the Lord. To gain wisdom and knowledge. To have a revival of like passion. I am so thankful that God has placed me here at my POFW.

  41. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

When God tells us no to do it we should obey and not do it

  42. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Don’t get weary in well doing. If the Lord promised then His word will come to pass, we must just be patient and wait for it to happen. Those that waited, received.

  43. 20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

I really appreciate the fact that before the moved into action with something the had word for it. They had bible. It is important that what we do we can back up with the Word.

  44. The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

    10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

Our Lord told the disciples the work they were to do. The apostles met together at Jerusalem; Christ having ordered them not to depart thence, but to wait for the pouring out of the Holy Spirit. This would be a baptism by the Holy Ghost, giving them power to work miracles, and enlightening and sanctifying their souls. This confirms the Divine promise, and encourages us to depend upon it, that we have heard it from Christ; for in Him all the promises of God are yea and amen.

  45. In this scripture, you can see many things! But, just an observation and a question . Isn’t casting Lots gambling? It was a toss up for the next disciple, just how wondering how many opportunities was lost this way for people!

26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

    “Stay Safe”……..

  46. whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

  47. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

This is an important reminder to always seek God first. In all we do we need to be sure that God is the one we seek when making decisions. Truly God knows what is best and therefore I want to be sure that I am consistently having His input into my life! Praise the Lord for He is all-knowing, He is Great! Praise the Lord!

  48. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

The last thing Jesus spoke about before he left was a promise and a duty. That they shall receive power and be witnesses to the uttermost part of the earth. May we use his power to be witnesses to the uttermost part of the earth.

  49. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Power was promised after they received the gift of the Holy Ghost. This was a gift not intended to only be held to ourselves but to be shared. God desires for all to partake freely of his Spirit and presence. To be filled by him is to be separated from sin for he calls to be holy for he is holy. We we lift up others and encourage them we utilize that power. When they receive what God has in store to them they can share with others. We then become fire starters.

  50. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

This is where I fail. I have no patience: when it comes to waiting. It comes from being in the world to long. I want things now; I have to learn to be patient. Waiting is not one of my strong suits. I want to be like the 120 in the upper room. To wait on the Lord to fulfill me. I know that I can’t move in His kingdom without Him. I want to be in this world, but not of it. N.O.T.W. is a profound statement. People still have a hard time understanding what it means. I want to be of the kingdom and let God use me as He used the 120 that waited.

  51. During the forty days after he suffered and died, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God.
Acts of the Apostles 1:3 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.1.3.NLT

During these next 40 days ee too will experiance Jesus in many different ways. We will have the opportunity to prove that Jesus is alive and well. I believe that God will also create devine encounters with souls that are hungry and looking for Him. Lets be ready to talk about Him and His Kingdom.

  52. Gods plan

24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place

Gods plan doesn’t change whether or not we do. Some say that we are predestined but that would mean that Judas had no chance in life and that isn’t like my God. I believe that if Judas would have repented that Jesus would have accepted him. But when Judas made the final fall, Gods plan kept on going.

  53. Josiah: 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
Jesus did not tell us when He would come back. However there are parables in the Bible warning us about not being ready at all times. We do not know when our time on this earth will be done. We do not know if we will have the chance to talk to certain people again. We have to do it when God opens the door. We have to be ready at all times for the coming of Jesus. So, let us GO STEADFASTFULLY and FAITHFULLY and always be ready in Jesus Name!

  54. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Oh thank you Jesus! Your promise of the Holy Ghost is true and amazing! My carnal flesh never wants to pray but my spirit wants it every day! Jesus renew in me a clean heart daily.

  55. 4 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

The power of unity! There is no stopping when we’re in unity for the kingdom! As we unite in these 40 days of fire, there must be an ignite to reach this city!! I have never felt more determined to fill the house of God like now! When everyone one has unity and burden to reach the lost souls of this region we are going to see a greater REVIVAL than we have ever seen!! These past weekends are only the beginning of a great outpouring of the HG, souls coming back to God, souls being delivered, children getting baptized, souls giving their lives completely to God!!! Ready for all the backsliders to come back home in Jesus Name!!

  56. So thankful that HIS CHURCH was born miraculously on the Day Of Pentecost through an outpouring of GOD’S SPIRIT.
GOD’S people are destined for victory, our ( the Church) greatest victories
    still lie ahead.
    Thy Kingdom Come
    Living In Victory

  57. “They all came together regularly to pray. The women joined them too. So did Jesus’ mother Mary and his brothers.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

There’s not like coming together in prayer.
“Spend a lot of time in prayer. Always be watchful and thankful. Pray for us too. Pray that God will open a door for our message. Then we can preach the mystery of Christ. Because I preached it, I am being held by chains. Pray that I will preach it clearly, as I should.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:2-4‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  58. Verse 20-26
The apostles chose Methias to replace Judas who betrayed Jesus. I noticed two things on this verses, first the apostles they didn’t hold an election, second the apostles cast lots to discover God’s choice for the position. The leaders were chosen not voted on. Elders are leaders who chosen by God and conform by the church. They all concern responsibility ,spiritual oversight, inspection, service and ministry.
Our elders have lots of responsibilities in our church and they must have the same passion and vision as our pastor , same as all the leaders of the church. We must keep each other in prayer and be united as one body to be able to reach the lost.

  59. 14 These all continued with one accord (with one mind, with one accord, with one passion) in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

We see the first step in preparing for a great outpouring of God’s Spirit, is coming together in one mind and one passion- to follow Jesus as He leads us to the lost.

  60. Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before.(Acts of the Apostles 1:4 NLT)

When Jesus sat and ate with his disciples he commanded them, too not leave Jerusalem until God sends them the gift of his Holy Spirit just like he promised them like before.

  61. 15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

Peter has to be bold and speak to those around. This is a prelude to Acts 2:28. It’s more evidence that no matter your circumstances if God says something it will happen. Also it’s a testament to failure is not final because he had issues or failures and God still used him mightily.

  62. 7-8 He told them, “You don’t get to know the time. Timing is the Father’s business. What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.”
14 They agreed they were in this for good, completely together in prayer, the women included. Also Jesus’ mother, Mary, and his brothers

Not by my timing Lord but Your timing! Lord you have everything placed in my life on your timing and I thank you God for giving us power in your name to come within us and spread your word and light to this world! In unity we must agree we are in this for good! God we’re in this for good to keep spreading your word till the end of time and in it for Your Kingdom to come!

  63. Of the many attributes of the spirit, fear is never mentioned even once as a quality or attribute of a Christian life. I’ve even heard is said that fear is really faith in the enemy rather than faith in God. The apostles ran in fear when Jesus was taken because they thought all was lost. When Jesus returned and they truly recognized who he was they responded with a boldness that astounded even those who had known them before.

The great turning point was the power they received with the holy ghost! Death was no longer something to fear. Paul would even say that ‘For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.’ The mindset of the followers of Jesus went from running in fear of death to recognizing that a death in Christ was to their gain. It was not something to be afraid of, just another certainty of life that God has in control. Until that time however, they were going to live their life for him!

The prophet Isaiah had even more poignant words to say: ‘when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.’ He mentions that his life was cut off from the land of the living without any physical seed to carry on his name. We do not just proclaim his name, our very lives prolong his days upon the earth! He may not be here in the flesh, but he still has living examples of his testimony in us if we walk without fear… just as Jesus did! When that is truly our walk, note that the prophet said the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. What is truly pleasing to God and what he chooses to favor with prosperity is when our lives give a living testimony of his life!

  64. And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
    Acts 1:7 KJV

Trust in him, he knows the future.

  65. “8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” God promises are for each and every one of his. His Holy Spirit is a gift to us; which gives each of us power through him. Continue to place your trust in the Lord because his promises are true and he will never turn back on his word. He is the truth and the light every single day. I am so thankful for everything that he does and I will continue to place my trust in him.

  66. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

  67. 14 They agreed they were in this for good, completely together in prayer, the women included. Also Jesus’ mother, Mary, and his brothers. MSG

I am reminded of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. “O King, we don’t need to answer you. Our God is able to deliver us from the burning fire, and he will deliver us from your hand. But if not, we will still not bow down and worship the statue.” They had no doubt in God’s power. However, if God decided not to rescue them, they still had the courage and the faith to stand.

At no point anywhere in the Bible does it tell us to limit our commitment to God. We should strive for a life that is sold out. Totally, completely, utterly. We are all a work in progress to become the people God can use. It’s not how smart or well-connected we are, or how educated, or how much money we have. It’s about how committed we are. How surrendered we’re willing to be. The ultimate truth – one which takes a long time for most of us to accept – is that the more ‘sold-out’ we are to God, the more He is able to do with us.

  68. 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

It always works on his timing, even though we think we can take control we shouldn’t. Wait for his calling and you will know what your next step is. Believe in his promise!
