Acts Chapter 2

40 Days of FIRE – Day 2

Day 2: Acts Ch.2. The epicenter for the advancement of the Gospel was in Jerusalem when the Holy Ghost came upon the Disciples at Pentecost. Visitors at the Feast were amazed as the Disciples, inspired by the Holy Ghost, spontaneously declared the wonderous works of God in their native languages. Peter, who had recently denied Jesus, addressed the crowd with boldness and passion. Pray for the apostolic church to be passionate, to take steps beyond their comfort zone, and reach lost humanity.

Acts 2

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

  1. RECIPE FOR REVIVAL

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
    Acts 2:42-47 KJV

    Doctrine…
    Fellowship…
    Communion…
    Prayer…
    Unity…
    Unselfish giving…
    Faithful church attendance…
    Gladness…
    Praise…
    And single-minded focus…

When the new believers CONTINUED STEADFASTLY in these things, signs and wonders were manifest, fear came on all the people, and souls were added to the church daily. I imagine that if we were to STEADFASTLY apply the same recipe, we would get the same results.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
    Galatians 6:9 KJV

  2. Verse 4 CEV “The Holy Spirit took control of everyone, and they began speaking whatever languages the Spirit let them speak.” Lord take control and move upon POFW. Let us speak and move with a boldness as Peter in verse 14 MSG “That’s when Peter stood up and, backed by the other eleven, spoke out with bold urgency:….”‘ to reach our friends, family, community and this city.

Verses 46-47 MSG “They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.” As Pastor spoke last night, we must discipline ourselves in this 40 days of FIRE. Our count has begun with this past weekend, let’s keeping counting POFW.

  3. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting

There is so much power when we are United, the church must stop at nothing to be in one mind. Good has placed Bishop Watts over us and his vision is exactly what and where God wants us, that’s where our mindset needs to be. We need to pray that we share that vision and follow under it and continue to be in one mind

  4. 25. ‘…I see that the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

    26. No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope.

    28. You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’ NLT

We can’t allow the things going on around us to shake us and get us down or distract us from our mission. God is always with us and He gives us hope, joy, and power.
No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises!

  5. 2:37 Now whenthey heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles , Men and brethren , what shall we do?
    ———-
…. and whe they heard this…
When they heard about Jesus, about what what he did, his miracles, his death, resurrection.. everything about Him in one single sermon, conversation, bible study, people will receive this and the only truth and take the step and obey acts 2:38 without questioning only through faith and hearing of the word.🙌 it’s allabout the name ( Jesus)…

  6. Acts2:35 (English Amp) Until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.
[ Psalms: 110 :1] The Lord (God) says to My right hand, until I make Your adversaries Your footstool. ( Matthew 26: 64) Jesus said to him, You have stated
[ the fact ] . More than that, I tell you: You will in the future see the son of Man
Seated at the right hand of the Almighty and coming on the clouds of the sky.We will have people who hate us in these last days because we love Jesus. But it doesn’t matter we will show our love for them and forgive them anyway. I prayed today that my enemies will be save.

  7. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

When the city heard what the Lord had done, they gathered together and Peter taught. This is what POFW must do: tell everyone we can about the miracles, the children’s Crusade with 65 receiving the Holy Ghost and invite them to come see what God will do in their lives.

  8. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

It still amazes me to remember the language God chose to give one of the Pentecostales de Fort Worth saints.

Never having learned of studied, born and raised in Mexico all of her life, when God filled her with the HG, she began to magnify the name of Jesus in English. No accent, not difficulty pernouncing just glorifying God in English.

    God can do anything.

  9. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  10. No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope. You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’
Acts of the Apostles 2:26‭, ‬28 NLT
Praise GOD, only Him alone can make me feel this way❤ No need to look to the world that satisfies temporarily, but turn to LORD❤❤❤

  11. In the uper room they are waiting for the promise. And it comes to them like a mighty rushing wind . they beganed to speak with other tongues. They were all amazed. Some doubted and said these men are drunk . peter said they are not drunk it’s to early to be drunk. As peter tells them and gives them the word . he also says you killed JESUS. And with this they were hurt and they asked what shall we do . he said repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of JESUS CHRIST and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost. This promise was made for every generation. On the last days his spirit will pour out. On the day of Pentecost it was revival like never before. And i believe we are in the time of a revival so big it will literally shake the earth.

  12. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

This is a generation that hungers for more, regardless of whatever it’s more of, this generation constantly seeks for more because they are never wholly satisfied. Aside from this though, I thank God we have apostolic young people who are channeling this hunger towards God and who are seeking the face of God. This is a generation that fights for their families, that is not ashamed of the gospel. I just recently heard from a friend at another youth convention that just around 2000 young people left their first service running into the streets with prayer, and dancing, and rejoicing so much so that they literally had the cops called on them – even the cops were shocked when they arrived to see what all the noise was about! This is our generation ISM and Motion – we act shy sometimes but I’ve heard several of you speak and wow are your testimonies great. You’re all so powerful!! I challenge you all to not keep this fire and passion you build up over these 40 days to yourselves. Take it to the streets and see what kind of impact you can have when you let God take over!!

  13. Acts 2:38

I love these scriptures. As a child we were taught to memorize Acrs 2:38.
I’ve had the Holy Ghost for over 50 years . Only by the grace of God and His promises have I seen my 2 children my daughter at 3 years old receive the Holy Ghost , my son at 7 my ,4 grandchildren all speak in a Heavenly language.
This promise is passed down from generations to generations . From my great great grandmother to a great uncle who rode a mule across the mountains of Virginia to preach the 2:38 message to my daddy who led his family into this truth. Nieces nephews aunts uncles ….From Virginia to Ohio to Texas to New Mexico to Indiana to Korea to Africa to Russia to many places all over the USA from the past to the present day Gods Spirit is being poured out. Instill in your hearts instill into your families. This message of Acts 2:38 is real. No one can take from you what God has given you. Hold onto it. The enemy will try to side swipe you in the very weakest moment of your life but if your weakest link can still be saturated with His Soirit then in your moment of weakness then you become strong.
We are the living testimony to this world that the promise is for them and their children too.
We must create an atmosphere to those who have not obeyed the message to ask the same question What must we do to be saved?

I ve had opportunity for the past several weeks to watch the spiritual growth of several families and the joy of seeing the excitement as each of them have been filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized it’s contagious if we will allow the Holy Ghost to ignite a 🔥.
Lord keep our souls on Fire burning with the Holy Ghost!

  14. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

    There is a Hope
I smiled a little after reading this and knew I would be using this today. Each day when I feel that God has given me something I feel like it’s a purpose needing to be fulfilled. The scripture says there is a promise to you, to your children, and to all that are afar off.
As long as Jesus hasn’t come back yet there is a HOPE in those lives bed ones. There is a HOPE in the Lost ones. I got a funny feeling I’ll be sharing this again some point today and I pray the Holy Ghost burns bright in front of this person or persons. I pray for God to lead my lips and give them the simple instructions of salvation just as Peter did standing in front of all the people.
Do you know what is cool about Peter…. even though he failed and denied God 3 times he still came back and knew what he had to do and that was to spread the Gospel and tell the World that it’s gonna be alright.
So today when I come across that person that’s in distress and in need of a word I’m gonna pray that I give that word with Boldness and Fire begins it. Because that’s what Peter did….and here we are 2000+ years later still giving those instructions of Salvation.
Go be Blessed in Jesus name

  15. All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to followship,
and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s supper) , and to prayer.

  16. iLove the Kingdom
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Notice that they received the Holy Ghost and began to speak with “other” tongues. I want to bring up the simple but misunderstood point of tongues. When a person first receives the Holy Ghost they will speak in “other” tongues. What does that mean? Just like the scripture declares right here that “every man heard them speak in his own language.” When a person receives the Holy Ghost for the first time, they will speak in other tongues or a language they do not know, but someone else on earth knows. Just a couple weeks ago, a lady from Latin America (who did not know English) received the Holy Ghost and started speaking English when she received the Holy Ghost.

However, once a person receives the Holy Ghost, their is a different “kind” of tongue one can receive. 1 Corinthians 12:10 KJV (10) To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers “kinds” of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

This gift of tongues is different then speaking with “other” tongues when you get the Holy Ghost. You might say, Prove it…Ok, that’s simple…so very simple. Ready?

1Co 14:2  For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

The gifts of the Spirit are mentioned in 1 Corinthians and notice that this gift of tongues is different then “other” tongues. The Word says that this tongue is “unknown” and that “no man” understands him but that he speaks in mysteries. This is different then what happened on Pentecost. On Pentecost, they spoke in other tongues and other folks could understand what they were saying in their own language.

The point is, we should understand that there is a difference between receiving the Holy Ghost for the first time and praying in tongues in our daily prayer time. This is important to know the next time that co-worker tries to “prove” that everyone does not have the gift of tongues and goes to the book of Corinthians to show you. You can let them know quickly that what happened on the day of Pentecost is different then speaking in an unknown tongue. 🙂

  17. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

  18. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

  19. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
    Acts 2:39‭-‬40 KJV

I truly believe in this promise 2000 years plus later this gif is keep on giving. I longest you believe the gift will keep giving alongis you hear the call of God in your life.

  20. Acts 2:38 ,2:41

I pray everyone we talk to about Acts 2:38 gladly receives his word and gets baptized as Acts 2:41 says and we will witness God adding unto POFW about three thousand souls.

POFW will continue stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers theses 40 days of FIRE and till Jesus return.

    Acts 2:47
And I love that now and after 40 days of FIRE we will be Praising God, and having favour with our City of Fort Worth. And the Lord will add to POFW daily our family members,friends,co-workers and such as should be saved.

Acts 5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.

We must love the TRUTH! Preach the Gospel to everyone we know.

  21. “But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    But God knew!
Everything that happened to Jesus was under God’s control. His plans were never changed nor disrupted. It brings me comfort knowing that even in times of suffering, God knows and He already has a plan for my life in place.

Think of it like this, Jesus had to be nailed to the cross in order to rise from the grave. We’ll have to go through some pain and sufffering but that is only to get us to the greatness God has for us! Take comfort today in knowing that no matter how you feel, God is in control!

  22. Then Peter said on to them Repent and be baptized ever one of you in the name of Jesus Christ foe the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift.of.the Holy Ghost

  23. Acts 2:3-4
    3) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
    4) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

St. Matthew 3:11, “… He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.”

  24. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

We read early that GOD will reveal his gift he promised it earlier now we see the gift of the holy ghost poured out his promises
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
You can have it if you want it the promise is to you and to all who wants
Been filled with the holy ghost for about 7years and baptized 5years now I am believe in the 40 days of that the family that’s not in church will come to church and be filled with the wonderful gift of the holy ghost 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

  25. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

    Keeping unity is very important!!!

  26. 25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

In verse 25 we read that He is on our “right hand”.

The Right Hand: the hand of action, strengthening, guiding, and upholding that, that I should not be moved, nor driven off from my undertaking, notwithstanding the hardships.

Job 23:9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:

The Left Hand: he is confident the work shall not miscarry in his hand.

As we sand confident knowing that the Lord is with us. Strengthing, guiding, and upholding we can boldly go to work as Job 23:9 states. There will be times where we feel that He isn’t there but keep the faith, keep working, and watch what God will do!

  27. THY KINGDOM COME
    INCREASE

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

We witness a principal in The Kingdom of GOD. Wherever The Kingdom of GOD is established, there is INCREASE. Obviously this is not the only sign, however it is a fruit or by product of seeking FIRST The Kingdom of GOD.

    Consider the attributes of the believers;

    1. They were in UNITY
    2. They had FELLOWSHIP
    3. They were GLAD
    4. They had 1 FOCUS
    5. They were PRAISING GOD
    6. They were BLESSED (Favor with people)
    7. They were GROWING in number.

We at The POFW are poised to experience this same Acts 2 increase as we Seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD. JESUS help us to focus our attention and energy on these 7 attributes of the believers as we seek to experience Acts revival and harvest again.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  28. This was to start a revival so big and so strong that no man can stop it. The doctrine of Jesus Christ started right here the revival of te one true God started right here, and it has never stoped. And it will never stop. There will be a day when we sell everything we got to follow him!

  29. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

breaking bread from house to house. Fellowship is important to keep us in one accord. I feel that there is not enough fellowship. We don’t get together like we should: yes there are monthly gatherings, but it says we are to continue daily with one accord in the temple. Call somebody; invite them to study the word, let’s break bread together. Share our thoughts and keep each other Praising God. I know that it’s difficult for me to stay focused a lot of the time. I’m getting back to where I was, but it’s gonna take time and a lot of healing. This is a new start for me: Lord keep me on the path and heal the hurt.

  30. “When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers. They were completely amazed. “How can this be?” they exclaimed. “These people are all from Galilee, and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages!”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭2:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  31. Passion should be evident in every thing we do for the kingdom of God… whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might! Give it everything we have. Let our passion for God be evident in everything we do for him. When it’s done in passion, we’re less likely to become weary, when it’s done with passion it’s hard for someone to mistake the genuine love and desire were have for him, when it’s done with passion weariness is less likely to take hold and slow us down, when it’s done with passion the world takes note just as they did on the day of Pentecost!

Peter spoke with passion when they asked what this was all about. He didn’t have time to prepare a sermon, he didn’t have time to go back and prepare, he had to be ready for the moment and allow the holy ghost to direct his passion and it was effective! Not only for the familiar passages, it says ‘And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.’ We don’t know everything he said any more than we can recall even our own words when passion speaks to the need but we know the results, and those same results can be had today if we’re not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and allow his passion to be seen and felt!

  32. This chapter is one of the most known of Pentecostals in the church today. The day of pentecost saw around 3000 saved. What drew all of the people to God was not a program, not a fundraiser, not a special event but the spirit of God being poured out upon those that would surrender their will to His will. What caused more to receive the holy ghost in days and years to come was people seeing the need to be saved by both the word of God and the changes seen in the lives of those who received the holy ghost and were baptized in Jesus Name.
If we truly surrender our lives to Jesus, put away the things of this world and bethe example He wants us to be by loving the things He loves and hating the things He hates; then our lives will be shining forth His light as a beacon of hope for all the world to see. It is never about us, and what we can do.It is always about Him and what He does and will do.

  33. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Power of unity is evident in these verses. They were all in the same place, with the same purpose, waiting for the promise to come. They did not get weary, they did not get distracted. They made up their mind that they would not be the one responsible for breaking the unity of the spirit so that all could receive.

We must examine our heart each day as we press for the fire to ensure that we are in unity. Our actions speak so loud. If we are an instrument revealing discord or disunity we can stop the flow of revival, and God will search for others to receive the promise.

Unity is the key – stay connected – stay prayed up – stay on fire.

  34. 3-4 Then, like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread through their ranks, and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the Spirit prompted them.
47 People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.

God I pray that like a wildfire your spirit will come revive and consume us that we will daily walk in Your spirit and have that spark to start a wildfire wherever we go and walk in this world! Grow this generation of hungry souls for a fire and rival like we’re never seen before! God let this generation have a fire that when others see us they will see your spirt and hungry after you! Let Your Kingdom come and consume my life God!

  35. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

I love fellowship, I love learning from others, sometimes they may have been through what I am or would be going through and have advice or a word to share that can be an eye opener for me. Sometimes its good to have time with the saints! We want acts revival but we dont want to do the things it takes or we want to do certain parts but not every part, Breaking bread from house to house doesn’t necessary mean food, but I believe they studied the word together and then shared a meal, and it says they ate their meat with gladness and singleness of heart! Being around people and getting to know people has a tendency to make one glad, I just recently learned what singleness means!
singleness: simplicity, mental honesty, the virtue of on who is free from pretense and hypocrisy, not self seeking, openness of heart manifesting itself by generosity!
That tells me that they were genuinely happy to be there and happy to share everything that they had with one another!

  36. 6 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Singleness: Simplicity, mental honesty…the virtue of one who is free from pretense and hypocrisy, not self seeking, openness of heart manifesting itself by generosity!
It seems to me that the members of the first acts church was very content and genuinely happy to be spending an afternoon with sisters and brothers learning the word and sharing a meal.

  37. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

We cannot forget how often, while their Master was with them there were strifes among the disciples which should be the greatest; but now all these strifes were at an end. They had prayed more together of late. Would we have the Spirit poured out upon us from on high, let us be all of one accord. And notwithstanding differences of sentiments and interests, as there were among those disciples, let us agree to love one another; for where brethren dwell together in unity, there the Lord commands his blessing. A rushing mighty wind came with great force. This was to signify the powerful influences and working of the Spirit of God upon the minds of men, and thereby upon the world. Thus the convictions of the Spirit make way for his comforts; and the rough blasts of that blessed wind, prepare the soul for its soft and gentle gales. There was an appearance of something like flaming fire, lighting on every one of them, according to John Baptist’s saying concerning Christ; He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. The Spirit, like fire, melts the heart, burns up the dross, and kindles pious and devout affections in the soul; in which, as in the fire on the altar, the spiritual sacrifices are offered up. They were all filled with the Holy Ghost, more than before. They were filled with the graces of the Spirit, and more than ever under his sanctifying influences; more weaned from this world, and better acquainted with the other. They were more filled with the comforts of the Spirit, rejoiced more than ever in the love of Christ and the hope of heaven: in it all their griefs and fears were swallowed up. They were filled with the gifts of the Holy Ghost; they had miraculous powers for the furtherance of the gospel. They spake, not from previous though or meditation, but as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  38. “The believers studied what the apostles taught. They shared life together. They broke bread and ate together. And they prayed. Everyone felt that God was near. The apostles did many wonders and miraculous signs. All the believers were together. They shared everything they had. They sold what they owned. They gave each other everything they needed. Every day they met together in the temple courtyard. In their homes they broke bread and ate together. Their hearts were glad and honest and true. They praised God. They were respected by all the people. Every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:42-47‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

My desire is to see more fellowshipping among the body. I pray that we would share live life together. And that we would study together and just talk about what the Lord is doing. This creates unity but we must stop being too busy that we miss our purpose. My life is not my own! I remember attending Vesper services at TBC and it was amazing. We sang a couple of worship songs and had a little devotional and just prayed for hours. And when you felt released from prayer you would go home. I would love to see this here at POFW.

“You have been raised up with Christ. So think about things that are in heaven. That is where Christ is. He is sitting at God’s right hand. Think about things that are in heaven. Don’t think about things that are on earth. You died. Now your life is hidden with Christ in God. Christ is your life. When he appears again, you also will appear with him in heaven’s glory.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:1-4‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

“And over all of those good things put on love. Love holds them all together perfectly as if they were one.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  39. 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  40. 38 Then Peter said to them, repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call. Thank you Jesus.

  41. Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

  42.  37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The words that were spoken penetrated their hearts. When something is pierced it is forever changed. We must allow the Word of God to pierce our hearts and change us forever. Let His Spirit change you during these 40 days of Fire.

  43. When Holy Ghost fills our hearts we can enter into HIS KINGDOM and righteousness …
    Thy Kingdom Come!!!

  44. 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

The promise is to as many as the Lord our God shall call. May we use the power he gives to be witnesses of that promise. So that others might receive the promise as well.

  45. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

This verse really stuck with me when reading this chapter. The holy ghost is not something to take lightly. Our walk with God is very serious, again, not something to take lightly. I need to be sure that in all I do, every day: that I am keeping God first, that I am not taking this walk with God lightly. If it was serious and important enough that the prophet Joel knew about it, how much more important is that I keep steadfast to God and be sure that I am walking continually with Him!

  46. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Only you truly know your spiritual life, save yourself, because no one eles can. Fast for your soul, pray for your soul.

  47. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

With one accord. There is great power being in unity. When the people are unified they can do anything they set their minds to. I’m in unity is where the blessing of the Lord is commanded. Unity equals power to take on greater enemies that an individual may not be alone. Wherever there are 2 or 3 gather in his name there is power because God is there.

  48. 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Three verses detail the “birth of the church” in this passage we see the church age begging and the OT ending in a sense. This is the way God ordained the church to begin and this is the way the new birth begins now with the Holy Ghost and fire!

  49. At school I have gotten to the point where people will ask me questions about the Bible. And yesterday I was asked two questions and one of them was do we have to get baptized. And there was a guy who said that we didn’t, so I quoted Acts 2:38 and explaind it how peter said everyone of you. 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. And after that I texted him 7 or8 more versus about why we have to get baptized. But think about if we could just quote versus right off the top of our heads and study to just aswer a question at school how could it effect even are questions and beliefs. To take enough time to just study anser the questions you’ve been asking yourself.

  50. When Peter stood up to preach, no doubt the crowd saw God-given power and purpose, but first they saw God-given passion. Passion made up for Peter’s lack of natural gift or education. When Peter became a magnet for others, three thousand people joined the church that day. Passion draws passion.
    Passion draws bus kids!!!

  51. 26No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope.

What a great feeling it is to know God. You have hope for eternal life, and to be with our creator. Our hearts should rejoice all the time, for God gives us joy and peace.

  52. “39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” The Lord is great and merciful! Every single person has a chance to be saved because he died for us. It goes to every generation and it doesn’t stay in one. I am so thankful for what he has done for us and what he continues to do for us each and every day. Always continue to walk in the way of the Lord.

  53. 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

My dance will crush Satan under my FEET! Jesus has put our foes the enemy already under our feet! No power of Hell can stop wha God has set on an unbreakable path! My God has set me on a path with his hand over me!

  54. Josiah: 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
It comes to a point where people have to make a choice for themselves. I choose God. It doesn’t end there though. We must die daily. It is not a once saved, always saved. We are sheep among wolves. We will be attacked repeatedly throughout life. As this verse points out we need to make sure we are saved. We can only pour out so much before we need to be refilled. So, let us GO DIE DAILY and make sure we are in line with God before trying to save others!

  55. The fruit of the vine

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

When we are connected in the body of Christ the way God intended us to be we will live in harmony and peace. When the Holy Ghost is really welcomed into a church you will see differences be put aside and fruit will come forth.

  56. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

  57. 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

We are living in the last days and God is truly pouring out His Spirit. The question is are there faithful labors for Him to use? I am so happy that POFW loves people so much and desires to see lives Saved! We are His hands and feet and He will use us to help others.

  58. The holy ghost is real. It is our ticket into heaven. The enemy will do everything he can to keep us from doing what God wants us to do. We have a right to serve the Lord with everything we’ve got. Let’s stand firm on his word and not give place to the enemy.

  59. I was thinking this morning about the cloven tongues like as a fire. It reminded me of the 3 Hebrew boys in the fire. It also reminded me of Moses and the burning bush. It’s a burning fire that doesn’t consume everything you involved.

  60. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
Acts of the Apostles 2:4 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.2.4.NLT

If we are in unity and seek His face everyone will experiance the holy ghost. Even those that are far off can experience His presence and that starts a fire the doesn’t go away.

  61. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

So many people loose out here, they want Jesus to be their Savior, but not to be their Lord….

  62. 6 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Unity, Unity, Unity!! When we unite and praise the Lord He will give us favor with ALL not some not few but with ALL people! When we do outreach, testify, or just begin to speak into someone’s life about the greatness of God, we shall not fear but rejoice and believe that He has given favour to reach this region. It’s not my words but let it be His Words speaking through me!! Thank You Lord for your Favour!!

  63. 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

Before Peter preached the plan of salvation, he preached the who of salvation. He first preached the gospel, the good news of Jesus dying for us and being raised again!!!! Praise God!

  64. 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

God will never leave us nor forsake us. When sin separated us from him a plan was already set in place for Jesus’ blood to was sin away. When Jesus died he took the keys from hell and rose again from the grave. Death could not hold Jesus down and neither can it hold us. He will not leave us to rot in the grave, but like he rose, those full of the Holy Ghost and without blemish shall meet Jesus in the sky.

  65. But God set him free from death and raised him to life. Death could not hold him in its power.(Acts 2:24 CEV)

God set Jesus free from death and raised him up to life. There’s nothing in this world nor power that can hold Jesus from rising up to life.

  66. Without warning there was a sound like a strong wind, gale force—no one could tell where it came from.

Imagine for a moment you can hear the wind blowing but cannot feel it. I have head the wind blowing, looked around and could see leaves flapping, the grass swaying and water waving. I believe in most cases, I know where the wind is coming from and where it is going. If I am watching the sunset and the wind is blowing in my face, the wind is from the west and going east.

I don’t believe that is what the verse is referring to. Wind is mysterious. It has a will of its own, so to speak. It comes and it goes by its own laws. We don’t control it. We never have. The wind is free. We do not decide what the wind does. The wind does what the wind does. Wind and Spirit in Greek are the same word. So, there is types and shadows between wind and the Spirit. The same sentences above referring to the Holy Ghost:

The Holy Ghost is mysterious. It is a manifestation of God’s will. It comes and it goes by God’s command. We don’t control it. We never have. The Holy Ghost is free. We do not decide what His will is; we are only asked to submit to His will.
