Acts Chapter 3

40 Days of FIRE – Day 3

Day 3: Acts Ch.3. In this chapter, we find Peter, in Jesus’ Name and power, performing the miraculous healing of a crippled beggar. The onlookers recognize this physically challenged man, and are astonished as they watch him jumping and leaping outside the temple. Peter again capitalizes upon the moment and explains that God’s mercy and grace are available for all. Pray for the church to follow this example and see lives physically, spiritually, and emotionally healed by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 3

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

  1. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; BUT SUCH AS I HAVE give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
    Acts 3:6‭-‬7 KJV

I’m always taken with the words “SUCH AS I HAVE give I thee.” Peter knew the gift and the power that was in him. He knew the authority that he had been given over sickness and disease. He had no doubt that when he took that man by the hand, he would walk. He exuded so much confidence in what he was saying, that the man received the faith to allow himself to be pulled up.

How much could we accomplish in this city if we really knew what we had? If we had full knowledge of the power and authority Christ has delegated to us and full confidence in our right to exercise that power? If we truly understood that we could give Healing to the crippled by just saying that name–JESUS?

Mark said, “And these signs SHALL follow them that BELIEVE; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;. . . they shall lay hands on the sick, and THEY SHALL RECOVER,” (Mark 16:17‭-‬18 KJV).

When someone knows and believes in what they have from God, He confirms their word with signs following. My prayer today is, “God, make us this kind of confident believer that we might turn this city upside down with Your power, that we might cast out every devil that stands in the way of revival, and that we might share Your healing grace with every sin-sick soul, in Jesus name!

  2. 4Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” 5The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money.

When someone is asking for help, asking for healing or whatever the request is, it’s best to look directly into the person’s eyes so they can know that you have compassion for them and ready to pray for them. Our eyes should always be upon the Lord. For we look to God and expect to receive our healings and blessings. The moment our eyes drift from God, the enemy will be there ready to pounce on you.

  3. THY KINGDOM COME
    IMPARTATION

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

We live in a society that seems to often prefer a handout over a miracle. Peter and John did not offer a handout, but spoke a MIRACLE instead. Evidence of the Kingdom within us is the privilege and power of IMPARTATION.

By use of nothing that is our own, we share the POWER of JESUS operating in and through us. Today when we see a need; Have FAITH in GOD and speak the HIS WORD in the situation and witness a miracle.

    iRepent

  4. Verses 6-8 MSG “Peter said, “I don’t have a nickel to my name, but what I do have, I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!” He grabbed him by the right hand and pulled him up. In an instant his feet and ankles became firm. He jumped to his feet and walked.” It took a lot of faith from this man to receive the spoken word from Peter. Hebrews 11:6 AMP says “But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.” Let us boldly go forth as Ephesians 3:12 CEV says “Christ now gives us courage and confidence, so that we can come to God by faith.”

  5. 3:10 and they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him..

    EXPECTING!!!!
I do t know about you, but I need something of the Lord. I want to give myself completely to him, be commuted, but I Do need a miracle, I need thing s to change and I thank God for “40 days of fire” he was blessed fourtunate that that these two men were walking by….
I am blessed, I GET TO be part of this. ( this is my opportunity 🙌)

    GOD IS GOOD!!!!!

  6. 5. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

    Expectation.

    noun
-a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.
a belief that someone will or should achieve something.”

When our faith is where it should be, we Expect that what we are praying for will happen.
There is expectation building at POFW. For example, we Expected many children to be filled during the Crusade, and we Expected many miracles to be done during the revival; they both happened.
Now, we Expect many children and adults to continue receiving the Holy Ghost, and we Expect many miracles to continue to be done, along with other prayers we are Expecting to be answered in Jesus Name!

  7. Acts 3: 26 (English Amp) It was to you first that God sent His servant and Son Jesus, when He raised him up [ provided and gave him for us] , to bless you in turning everyone of you from your wickedness and evil ways.[ Acts 2:24 ] [But] God raised him up, liberating him from the pangs of death, seeing that it was not possible for him to continue to be controlled or retained by it.For David says in regard to him, I saw the Lord constantly before me. So let us repent change our minds and our purpose ). Turn around and return to God, that our sins may be erased ( blotted out, and wipe clean. Praise God.

  8. Healing is still a powerful force in the church today! Just like the gift of the holy ghost, it was never taken away. If sin doth the much more abound and will continue to increase in the world until Jesus comes again, why would anyone expect those gifts of God to his people to be taken away? It doesn’t even make sense when you consider all the implications, and the Bible clearly declares that by his stripes we are healed! Just like our salvation, he has already paid the price for us to receive his healing blessing today!

Those in the world may ask ‘Why does it even matter?’ My response is it matters because when I’m sick and I’m prayed for, I believe and God will heal me! We can’t receive anything more than what we have faith in God to provide. I believe in God’s blessings, I believe that God cares about my individual life and walk, I believe God has an individual purpose and direction for me, I believe that his hands are upon my life continually, and when I am sick I still believe when I am prayed for that God will heal me!

Miracles and heading are a powerful testimony to new believers but don’t forget the words spoken hear: ‘Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.’ His blessings are given first to his people! It is through us that all the kindreds of the earth shall be blessed. We don’t have to wait in line, we don’t have to wait for a ‘special’ moment, we just need to have faith and be healed! And when God continues to provide that healing to his people, allow our faith to increase as we lay hands upon others in prayer that they may also be healed! In body, in heart, in spirit, whatever the need, declare healing in Jesus name!

  9. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
The healings and miracles shown in the Bible are still very prevalent today. God has not changed. Just as he healed all those with faith in the Bible; he has, does and will do for us today. God has given each of us a measure of faith. It does not matter how big or small it is. If we use our faith; he will show the miraculous, receive all of the glory, honor and praise. ‘..faith as of a grain of mustard seed…’

  10. 16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know made strong. It was Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

  11. Acts 3
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

We too have been given this authority to speak these words. When someone asks for an aspirin for their headache what an awesome opportunity to say aspirin or Motrin I have not but such as I have give I thee in the Name of Jesus Christ be healed ; it works because Jesus is the healer and He gives us the authority to use His Name. Take a chance try it out you might just be surprised at what God actually will do when we step out and really act upon what we say we believe. God stands by His Word.
Today is the first day of the rest of your life we must live as if it is the last !
There is power in His name!

  12. iLove the Kingdom
    Acts 3:1 KJV
    (1) Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

We see here the importance of daily prayer at a set time. This was the “hour of prayer” and it was at the same time. What this does is gets us into habits and trends that can positively change our lives. While it is a positive thing to have a daily hour of prayer, as we see in this chapter sometimes circumstances can come up on our way to prayer. If Peter and John would not have taken time out of their busy schedule and prayed for the man, the miracle would have never happened. Thank Goodness they were willing to be a little “late” in order to impact this man’s life.

  13. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

If nothing else, you have the power of God!! As long as you’re walking in the spirit and you make yourself available, God will use you even in the most unlikely ways and situations.

  14. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

Miracles have one main purpose, and that’s to give credit and glory to God after they have been done. Nicodemus came to Jesus in the middle of the night and told him that he knew he was from God because of the Miracles that he performed. Miracles are for helping people Glory to God, but they have a much bigger purpose and that is to show people the power of God to bring him glory and honor and everything. During our Miracle weekend and this Children’s Crusade I think we need to take every opportunity to use it to witness to the Lost World what God is able to do in just a small portion of time and what he can do in their lives so they will come to him and believe that he is and that he is a rewarder to them that diligently seek him

  15. The miracles are from God. And peter explained this isn’t me this is JESUS CHRIST. the man that Got healed expected something like gold or silver . peter didn’t have that but he had JESUS and that lame man was healed. Oh why do we turn to wordly things when the awnser is right here. So many of us trust man more than we trust God. Which is sad because he works things man can’t . JESUS is the way the only way.

  16. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
    Acts 3:7‭-‬9 KJV
Peter didn’t take but he spoke a miracle as I was reading this my eyes start to open this men could not go in the temple because he lame this men would set there watching everyone goes in the temple but now GOD by you blood we are heal we can go in the house come in broken but leave out heal but it just that got my eye it was that he waited for his miracle you see the lame men would do anything just to come in the house of the Lord just to praise . Would if we could get that same desperation GOD I don’t care what it takes I got to be in the house of GOD nothing else matters but you let you kingdom come in me

  17. 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

Always give Him the Glory for it is throughHom that we have our being and breath!!! He is the ultimate Healer!!! Thank you Jesus for healing me!!!!

  18. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.

What confidence and boldness that led faith into action!! All glory to GOD!
This man was lame begging to feed the physical, GOD didn’t just meet that by healing his body but healed his spirit.

for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
    Matthew 17:20 KJV

    Activate your faith!!!!

  19. 12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

Peter started at the beginning when he witnessed to the people of the miracle, carefully teaching it was not his own power, but the power of God which we each can have. He led them through the prophecies arriving at Jesus. Being sensitive in the Holy Ghost will give us the words to teach so that we can reach the lost around us.

  20. Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. …

    Acts 3:12 NLT

In our lives through our testimony we have the opportunity to tell others of the goodness of Jesus.

  21. AndAnd his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
    Acts 3:16 KJV

Wow by the power of the sound of his name people should be healed. How loud can you say his name , and how far will it travel, and how many people will be healed by the sound of his name.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  22. Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead , even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

  23. Then Peter said silver and gold have i none but such as i have give i thee In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk

  24. 12 Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness?

I like that the NLT says “Peter saw his opportunity”.

This lets me know that he was aware of his surroundings, not focused on himself. And he was positive. Positive that this was an opportunity to reach someone else, not an obstacle. Positive that he wasn’t doing it alone, he knew the same God the man walk was the same God who would help address the crowd.

Today, look for the opportunities. The opportunity to invite someone, the opportunity to share the good news, and the opportunity to pray with someone.

If you don’t see an opportunity, look for an “obstacle”. All obstacles are opportunities with Jesus.

  25. Acts 3:16 (nlt)
“Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed – and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.”

Thank You JESUS for Faith and for all the miracles of healing that took place right before our very eyes during our miracle crusade!

  26. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

The lame man asked for money but received something much greater. Often we will ask God to fix a small problem but God wants to give us a whole new life. Ask Him for what you want, but don’t be surprised if He says “I’ve got something so much better for you” and gives you what you really need instead.

““Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“ In the name of Jesus Christ” means “by the authority of Jesus Christ”. The apostles wanted to make it known that it was not by their might nor power that these miricales were being done, but by the power of the Holy Ghost that was within them! When we call on the name of Jesus, it is He Himself who comes down, not just the sound of His name.

  27. 1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
This verse supports two biblical principals. Going to the house of God together on a regular basis and cooperate prayer from the church. These are principals that every Apostolic Church should posses. The power of prayer is worth the sacrifice to get to the house of God to do so together in one mind and in one accord.

  28. 16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

  29. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

  30. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

  31. 6 But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,[a] get up and[b] walk!” NLT

Peter didn’t have much, but he gave what he had, we may not have much but if we just give all we have to God He’ll bless us, even though we don’t have much to offer Him He still wants it because He knows that we’re giving Him our everything and that’s what counts, not the amount, just give Him what you have!

  32. 1 Now Peter and John went up TOGETHER into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

TOGETHER in prayer, fellowship, in the temple, in preaching and working for the King is the recipe for miracles, signs, and wonders.

  33. Notice the man was a “beggar” and he was located outside of the temple. Peter and John spoke the word and he got up and went into the temple jumping and praising God.

When we are ingrafted into the Kingdom of God we have all we need we are no longer beggars outside of the temple but we are praisers inside the temple walking by faith. This does not mean we will not want for things but we understand that God is able to supply all of our needs. We do not worry we walk by faith.

We must also notice that the man thought he was going to receive money but what he got was healing. There are many people that come begging for things but what they really need is healing. It may not be physical healing but it could be emotional, mental, or spiritual. It doesn’t matter what kind the important things is we have what they need- The Power of the Holy Ghost.

One of the greatest things I admire about the early church is their boldness. They didn’t think twice about speaking the word to see the man healed. They didn’t think twice about testify about Jesus and telling the onlookers that they crucified him. I pray we get involved with 40 Days of Fire and tap into that same spirit of boldness.

  34. The beggar got a miracle so he went in the temple to prasie God,then all of the people came to see him. So we need to praise God all of the time.

  35. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

I pray that a poverty mentality is not an issue when it comes to receiving the miracle of healing. This man was known for receiving money because of his disabilities ,he was now to make a decision to leave the only sustenance that he knew and now was going to have to seek out another way in order to sustain himself.

  36. 25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities

Thank you JESUS for the HOLY GHOST

  37. 25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.
26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Thank you Jesus for all that you have done for us. For putting your life on the cross so that we may be able to live again.

  38. Josiah: 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
Even to this day God sends preachers out. God himself came to this earth and gave us His word and fulfilled prophecies. There are so many men of God around us. However we do not have to be a preacher to be part of the ministry. We can witness at school or job for some. So, let us GO LABOUR in the ministry and win lost souls!

  39. “7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.” The lame man had somuch faith in the Lord; that he was made whole again. This type of faith is what each of us should have in our daily walk with the Lord. He is the Lord over all and he can do anything. You just need to keep your faith in the Lord and you will see him do marvoulous works in your life. Keep your eye on the Lord and not to this world. He is the everlasting life and it is my desire to always continue to place him first in my life and walk with him always.

  40. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. To you first, God, having raised up His servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.

  41. Verses 1-26
This chapter describes how we as leaders should be,
V1. They faithfully did what they knew to do
V3. They stopped and sensitively addressed needs
V4. They had the courage to face problems
V5. Others anticipated receiving solutions from them
V6. They realisty admitted their lack of material resources
They fearlessly used their God-given authority
They generously gave away their spiritual resources
    V7-8. They solve practical problems
V9-10. They gained credibility through demonstration, not just proclamation
V11-26 Peter’s demonstration gave him a platform and a convincing argument

We have all the tools here in this chapter to become a great leader like Peter.

  42. Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.
Acts of the Apostles 3:2 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.3.2.NLT

Prayer can do all things which is why we must always be willing to go to prayer because we don’t know when. God can show up and we can see miracles.

  43. Miracles, signs , and wonders in this chapter we see GOD’S power and authority very plain..
” GOD hath spoken once; twice have i heard this; that power belongeth unto God”Psaalm62:11
“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth” Matt.28:18
JESUS IS the almighty GOD and has all power!
That’s why miracles have not ceased.

  44. Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

    2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

The apostles and the first believers attended the temple worship at the hours of prayer. Peter and John seem to have been led by a Divine direction, to work a miracle on a man above forty years old, who had been a cripple from his birth. Peter, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, bade him rise up and walk. Thus, if we would attempt to good purpose the healing of men’s souls, we must go forth in the name and power of Jesus Christ, calling on helpless sinners to arise and walk in the way of holiness, by faith in Him. How sweet the thought to our souls, that in respect to all the crippled faculties of our fallen nature, the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth can make us whole! With what holy joy and rapture shall we tread the holy courts, when God the Spirit causes us to enter therein by his strength!

  45. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

All too often we miss out, because we lack the faith. Here this man didn’t have faith for much more than these guys were fixing to give him some money. His little faith for money turned to be more than enough for his miracle.
When we don’t look expecting for something to happen, we lack faith, and it’s our lack of faith that keeps up from seeing our miracles…

  46. 24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

God’s promises are true. Here Peter is explaining and correlating the miracles happaning now, to the promises given before. Showing both them and us that God’s promises are sure. Someday this moment will come for all of God’s promises, where someone looks around and realizes that the moment they are in, has been promised from afore time. I look forward to seeing and hearing the fulliment if God’s promises, bith written and spoken in the days to come.

  47. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

GOD can do miracles signs and wonders he can do the same for us

  48. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

It is important to remember that it is God who gives us the strength, gives us the talents, gives us the authority to go out in His name. God deserves the glory and the praise, so let us be sure in all we do that we do not take credit for it, but rather look to God and glorify Him for the mighty works He does in our lives and in those around us. Praise the Lord for He is great!

  49. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

If we give people money it will only be spent, and we cannot take it with us when we die. The miraculous power of God moved upon this crippled man, it wasn’t a magic show by a magician, but a miracle but an all powerful God. Peter was the vessel, willing to operate in the gifts of the Holy Ghost, speaking prophetically and allowing God to perform miracles through him. This man was healed out of faith in Jesus name. Peter said in the name of Jesus Christ that he should rise up and walk. The man could have said he doesn’t believe in Jesus and stayed seated in his crippled state. He walked out in faith quite literally. Too many times people don’t want to be healed because they want a hand out and content with the messy state they wallow in. Peter could see this man desired more, his faith, along with the miraculous power of God changed this man’s life and He will never be the same.

  50. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

  51. “Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk.” Then Peter took him by the right hand and helped him up. At once the man’s feet and ankles became strong.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:6-7‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

If we will do our part God will do the rest. Use the resources God have you. It does matter about your past. Just look at Peter he cut a mans ear off and deny Jesus. God still used him mightily.

  52. Expectation

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

We have heard preaching on this scripture from many different ways but I’ve never heard anyone that held the position that I see here. This man had to be believing for a miracle already or he would not have received one. Peter and John nearly reacted to his faith. He was expecting of them. The scripture doesn’t say he was expecting alms of them but just that he was expecting. Our faith will let God know what we can receive.

  53. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

I don’t get tired of reading this verse over and over because Jesus is everything!!! Many people might come to us full of pain, hurt, need of money, need of comfort and we know that we can say in THE NAME OF JESUS…..anything and everything! We know that He is the only one that can give us our ALL!!! He’s the only one that can give us our miracle!!

  54. High Expectations!

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Every time we come expecting and ready to receive God will give us something. It might not be what we expect, but is will be something great. The man though he would get money but instead received the greatest gift of his life. His full miracle was due to his expection to receive something.

  55. 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

Give what you have, give Jesus. They key though is to be filled with Jesus to be able to boldly give/share Jesus.

  56. 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

Most people delay praying for someone, or speaking in faith over someone for a miracle because they feel they need to spend hours in prayer before stepping out in faith.
It wasn’t on there way OUT of prayer, but on there way TO prayer, that Peter filled with the HG steps out on faith. It was there daily and continually walk with Jesus that had finally produced a HG boldness within them to extend there hands out and speak out in JESUS NAME!

If we only understood who lives inside of us, we wouldn’t wait to be confident after a prayer meeting, we would just be willing vessels for God to manifest his AMAZING POWER!

  57. “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.(Acts of the Apostles 3:16 NLT)

The people had seen this crippled man for years sit and beg for alms. They knew that it was not fake that he was miraculously healed. Because of faith that Peter had in God and the faith the crippled man had to get up and walk, he was healed instantly.

  58. How many people have we passed that needed what we have? Are we so busy that we are passing people who need what we have? God help me, I know that I have not shared what God has done for me and what I have witnessed him doing for others. I pray this time of concentration and consecration over the next few weeks help me to be more sensitive to the urges of God and recognize people in need.

  59. Often we ask god to fix are problems and supply us with are needs and help are struggles but don’t be surprised when god says uh uh honey i got something better instore. Remember to praise God an give thanks in an out of your blessing.
