Acts Chapter 4

40 Days of FIRE – Day 4

Day 4: Acts Ch.4. Chapter four documents the incredible start and momentum the early church experienced. Peter and John give a powerful testimony before the Jewish council, and the number of disciples grows to over 5,000. The tremendous spiritual unity and generosity among Christ’s followers is alluring to onlookers. As you pray today, thank God for faithful believers who have gone before us, and for those of us who now hold the baton. Pray for courage to boldly testify, compelling others to be changed.

JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.

Acts 4

And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,

Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.

Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,

And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.

15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.

18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.

23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?

26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

35 And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

  1. And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,

2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.

The apostles preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. It includes all the happiness of the future state; this they preached through Jesus Christ, to be had through him only. Miserable is their case, to whom the glory of Christ’s kingdom is a grief; for since the glory of that kingdom is everlasting, their grief will be everlasting also. The harmless and useful servants of Christ, like the apostles, have often been troubled for their work of faith and labour of love, when wicked men have escaped. And to this day instances are not wanting, in which reading the Scriptures, social prayer, and religious conversation meet with frowns and checks. But if we obey the precepts of Christ, he will support us.

  2. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
    Acts 4:13 KJV

The only qualification we need to speak boldly and to do many mighty works is to have been with Jesus. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by the Word of God. When we spend time with the Word, it changes us, emboldens us, and empowers us. We don’t need brains or brawn; we need the intimacy that can only be gained by spending time with Him.

Peter was fire and passion when it came to the ministry of Jesus. We see over and over him propagating the gospel and sharing it with anyone who would listen. We should pray the Peters zeal be in us. That a desire to reach people and touch people would be apparent in our lives.

  5. Acts 4:29-31
    29) And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word.
    30) By stretching forth thine hand to heal: and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

  7. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
Acts of the Apostles 4:30‭-‬31 NLT

Every service we have and attend and/or the people we meet in our daily lives. The LORD is willing to stretch out His hand with healing power to do miracles signs and wonders. He is waiting on us to ask, stretch out our faith, and pray! But it’s that little spirit of fear and doubt tgat creeps into our minds that keeps us from taking that step, not towards GOD but people. I know….this happens every day, we leave a place without ministiring to people, and we are left bummed out with a thought of ‘what if i just would have stepped out in faith.’ Remember not that GOD isn’t willing to do the miraculous, but are we wanting it as bad? We must continue to labor in His KINGDOM not just one day(saturday) but His KINGDOM is every day❤

  8. Acts 4

    Jeremiah 20:8
    New International Version
Whenever I speak, I cry out proclaiming violence and destruction. So the word of the LORD has brought me insult and reproach all day long.

  9. Jeremiah 20:9
    New International Version
But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.

  10. 32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Boldness and unity to preach Jesus coupled with God’s grace and favor turned their world upside down for his kingdom.

  11. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Through the foolishness of preaching, God saves people. Let the us rejoice that God has chosen people that don’t quite fit to today’s standard, and has chosen us, the outcast and ignorant to let people see at what God has done. Let us preach with every thing God has placed in us to reach this city

  12. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
    Acts 4:34‭-‬35 KJV

    Souled Out!
What would happen!? What kind of needs would be met if everyone in the church downsized and brought what they had to Jesus. If we gave up our fancy things, our luxuries, and said to God “All that I have is Yours”. Back in the day it wasn’t the government’s job to feed the hungry. It was the church’s. How many souls can be impacted and saved if we got souled out and SOLD OUT for Jesus to establish His Kingdom here? Everything is temporary, but this is eternal.

  13. The Bible asks us to be ready always to give a reason for the hope that lies within us… that is speaking to our testimony! Each of us have a testimony and the collection of our testimonies is a powerful statement to the world! They may be just as grieved today as they were when Peter and John stood up to speak, but we should refuse to be silenced just as they did! We need to recognize those prophetic words are also spoken to us: ‘The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.’ There will always be opposition and unbelief until Jesus comes and even after his millennial reign of peace, the devil will be capable of finding a following that is willing to go against God.. so why would we expect our own walk in the midst of a world ruled by sin to be free of opposition? Just take our liberty and testify! Make a difference!

The recipe is still the same today: ‘And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.’ With a prayerful holy ghost boldness we can see the same results today! ‘And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.’ Not just a little unmerited favor… they were granted great power and great favor with the Lord! The world may be moved by the signs and the wonders and we want those evident as well, but O that we might granted great favor in our walk with him! With that kind of favor we will also receive great power where truly anything is possible in the service of his kingdom! So use that portion we have already received and go witness with great expectation of what God is going to do! Make a difference white we can!

  14. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus.
    ———
…That they had been with Jesus…
I want to be with Jesus everyday ( PRAYER) empowered, cleansed, filled, anointed so that I can go out there and do his will, with boldness and all the freedom.

  15. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
    Acts 4:19 KJV

What benefit us more to listen to the word of God or to listen to the work of our peer It’s a no-brainer.

  16. 7. And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

    10. Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

The same power that rose Jesus from the grave
The same power that commands the dead to wake
Lives in us, lives in us
The same power that moves mountains when He speaks
The same power that can calm a raging sea
Lives in us, lives in us
He lives in us, lives in us

  17. THY KINGDOM COME
    THE KING – JESUS

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

A King is defined as a ruler, leader and authority. As we seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD. We can also safely say that we seek FIRST JESUS the KING.

Seeing that our salvation is only in the Name of JESUS; it seems natural to allow the desire to seek JESUS FIRST. When we seek JESUS The KING First we are also seeking SALVATION FIRST.

We have no hope of salvation outside of JESUS. Lets commit ourselves to seeking JESUS First, before all things, above all things. JESUS alone is worthy of our FIRST intention. HE Is Faithful.

  18. Acts 4:24 & 25

24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the peopl

  19. 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

What passion! I’ve heard several people talking about how unified the POFW is becoming, and wow how His Kingdom is coming to shake this house!! David described God as a terrible God because His Spirit was so overwhelming to the extreme – consume us terrible God with your Spirit!!

  20. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭4:12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As I was reading this I begin to think to myself WoW I’ve been in very similar situations. But there was a lady that looked at me and said “I’m gonna pray that you get boldness” well sister it worked. Every time I’m spreading the word I speak it with boldness. I have it drilled in my spirit that I have to share with them what God can and what He’s done for me and as they look down at my hands and arms and see I’m not living like a heathen then they too say WoW look at God.
I didn’t turn my life around He did, because all I wanted was help and He gave it to me!
This Love will bring you happiness!
    Bless you in Jesus name

  21. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
    Acts 4:8‭, ‬12‭-‬14 KJV
There is no other name that can saved us but the name of Jesus they saw Peter and John talked with boldness they understand that they were ignorant you see sometimes people will see and hear and sometime even experience it and they still doubt GOD but today I declare what a beautiful name it is the name of JESUS
    You have no rival
    You have no equal
Now is forever GOD you reign
Your is the kingdom you is the glory
What a powerful name it is the name of Jesus

  22. Acts4:11-12 (English Amp) This[ Jesus] is the Stone which was despised and rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the Head of the coner [ the Cornerstone]. (12) And there is salvation in which we must saved. Psalms 118:22 The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. There is no other Salvation but the Lord is seeking him First, By prayer and being submissive and obeintent to His word. We want have no hope in this world without him.

  23. 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of our people,
9 are we being questioned today because we’ve done a good deed for a crippled man? Do you want to know how he was healed?
10 Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene,[a] the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead.

If are going to step out on faith, make sure that you do what Peter did, speak while filled with the HG. What difference does it make?

Having the HG, turns a elaborate speech into a powerful sermon
Turns a performance into a worship and praise session
    Turns spectators into participators

    HG POWER!

  24. iLove the Kingdom
Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

This is a prime example that just because something “grieves” someone doesn’t make it wrong. I’ve been places where folks said, “Don’t talk about such and such because it causes division…” Well it’s sad that the true and pure Word of God could grieve folks but it is what it is.

  25. 7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
    9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

The rulers and elders wanted to know how the impotent man was healed and Peter told them the who. Once again, Peter shares the gospel of Jesus’ death and resurrection and that He is the healer and the Savior!!!!

33 And with GREAT POWER gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and GREAT GRACE was upon them all.

May the Lord grant us GREAT POWER and GREAT GRACE to testify of His resurrection and plan of salvation in Jesus Name!

  26. 31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

  27. Vs -12
Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved
Salvation is exclusively through the name of Jesus

  28. Verse 10-13
One person with courage is a majority!!!
Peter and John display courage for preaching and for performing a miracle,. When their captors ask about their ministry , Peter boldly asserted that the name of Jesus, not their own talent, had healed the man.
As Christians we must have courage to overcome obstacles, seek the truth, courage to change, courage to learn, step out, take a risk, lead others.

  29. Josiah: 30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
This verse just shows another example of what we should do in Jesus name. This world does many things in the name of this or the name of that. However we have Jesus on our side. In His name there is healing. We baptized in His name. In His name there is miracles, signs and wonders. In His name there is power. When we call upon His name we can get forgiveness, guidance and direction and so much more. So, let us GO IN JESUS NAME!

  30. 21-22 The religious leaders renewed their threats, but then released them. They couldn’t come up with a charge that would stick, that would keep them in jail. The people wouldn’t have stood for it—they were all praising God over what had happened. The man who had been miraculously healed was over forty years old.
31 While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God’s Word with fearless confidence.

Nothing and nobody can come against the power of Jesus Name! They can’t change it, hide it or, deny it! It’s all your awesome power God! We praise you God for the miracles you’ve done and what’s to come for the 40 days! Shake the services we have with your spirt and fire, Let your fire consume us that we continue to speak your greatness to this world with confidence we know you give us to stand on! No matter who or what comes against us, we speak in confidence and faith knowing victory is already on our side! What a mighty God we serve!

  31. NLT 13The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

This verse shows you don’t have to be in ministry, leader or a Pastor to pray for others. You only have to have faith in God just like Peter and John. Pray for others with confidence. With the name of Jesus, we all have the authority to pray for others.

  32. 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

No other name! We are known by our name, and He is known over this entire world by Jesus. He is all that we need to know about. That name that has all power under heaven. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus.

  33. Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

  34. 23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

It is always good to turn to God and give praise for what He has done, for what He has brought you through! Just as the apostles did after being told not to speak the name of Jesus. How much more can I give thanks to God in my everyday life for what He is doing!

  35. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
When we testify of Jesus in our actions, appearance, conduct and words;will those around see a difference in our lives which clearly shows thatJesus has changed us and that we walk with Him?…

  36. “12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” There is only One God and his name is Jesus. When we call upon his name great things are done. He shows us how to grow stronger in him and how to be saved. In order to do this we constantly need to read the Bible, constantly seek him through prayer, and give him praise for everything he does in our lives. Otherwise you will see yourself falling away from him. Every day I am so thankful for the opportunity to be able to know his name and praise him. No one can stand beside him and through him is my strength. Only Jesus can heal you and lift you up. He is the Almighty and Everlasting God. Give him your highest praise and draw closer to him. My desire is to always continue to grow stronger in him.

  37. 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

Being filled with the Holy Ghost should be an every day occurrence. When we are filled with the Holy Ghost we will not be intimidated by one. We will walk in the anointing and boldness just as the Apostles did, and signs and wonders will follow.

  38. 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

Oh they may ask well who do you serve? What God do you follow? What is his name? My answer is JESUS! Demons tremble at the name of Jesus, people are healed in the name of Jesus! Jesus will never wear out his name is above all and he is King of kings and Lord of lords! No rival and he has no equal he is the greatest above all and he is my Lord and Savior whom I will serve!

  39. A Prayer for Boldness 23-31
I pray we all get Bold in the Holy Ghost and spread the Word!

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled togerher; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.

  40. 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

    9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

Sometimes we can easily be tempted to try to take credit for what Jesus does, but when we do, we will surly loose out.

  41. Notice that as soon as the apostles were being persecuted for Jesus the church went into overdrive. Whenever the pressure is turned up is we cannot focus on the trial but rather focus on what God can do in the middle of it.

  42. So they called the apostles back in and commanded them never again to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him?
Acts of the Apostles 4:18‭-‬19 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.4.18-19.NLT

We should always take a stand for what we believe in and don’t let this world tell you to stop. We need to keep teaching and preaching Jesus no matter what the cost is.

  43. “And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
    ‭‭
Peter and John could not stop talking about Jesus. They had a purpose. It was to share the gospel to save souls. We have that same purpose. Don’t stand by quietly, SHARE IT!

  44. 1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.

The snakes will always come out when the fire gets started. The people of avid were teaching and preaching just as Jesus commissioned them to do. Yet, the same religious people that should have been backing them up was binding them up instead.

We must drive out the spirit of religion and command the spirit of revelation to take rule over our lives, our homes, and The Church. Let us walk in unity and help one another not hinder each other.

  45. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

No matter who you are or what is your

  46. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Great is the privilege to be able to serve THE ALMIGHTY ONE!!! JESUS!!!

  47. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

we should be the example to other people that do not have Jesus and we shouldn’t be all holy in just church but when out there in school or at work
and they should see that you are a child of GOD

  48. Verses 19-20 MSG “But Peter and John replied to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you and obey you rather than God, you must judge [for yourselves]; for we, on our part, cannot stop telling [people] about what we have seen and heard.” We cannot afford to be silenced, like the song “Great God” says:

    Great are Your ways
    Great are Your works
    Great are You, Lord
    In all the earth
    Great is Your power
    Great is Your strength
Great are You Lord and greatly to be praised

We won’t stop til the whole world knows
We won’t stop til the whole world knows
We won’t stop til the whole world knows
    That You’re a great God
    Great God

  49. 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

  50. 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

Have we ever tried to speak “for” God to someone instead of God speaking “through” us? I have and it did not turn out well. Thankfully, God knew the intent of my heart and guided the conversation to a point where His glory was seen; not mine. God wants to use those He trusts; those who are full of His Spirit and are submitted to His will and the shepherd He placed in our lives. When these criteria are met; God can use us freely; we can be fully functional members of His body.

  51. Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the man you crucified but whom God raised from the dead.(Acts of the Apostles 4:10 NLT)

Peter clearly stated to the priest the captain of the temple guard and all of the people of Israel that the man that was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ. The name that is so powerful that anything or anyone can be healed in the name of Jesus because he’s the Lord that can do the impossible. Peter explained to the priest the captain of the temple guard that the man they crucified but whom God raised from the dead.

  52. 4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

It did not matter that the priest and captains didn’t agree with what Peter taught of Jesus, their was still a revival. Those who heard the Word spoken believed and five thousand were added to them. It doesn’t matter the consequences because God will have his will be done.
