Acts Chapter 6

40 Days of FIRE – Day 6

Day 6: Acts Ch.6. The early Church discovers the need to appoint seven leaders to oversee the distribution of food to the needy. Among these leaders is Stephen, known for his faith, wisdom, grace, and power. Pray today that our church’s leaders might know God’s love, grace, protection, direction, and provision as we together endeavor to expand the Kingdom of God.

Acts 6

And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

  1. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost… And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
    Acts 6:2‭-‬3‭, ‬5‭, ‬8‭, ‬10 KJV

Stephen was one of the men chosen to serve the widows’ tables. He was not an apostle with the prestigious job of giving himself continually to prayer and to the ministering of the Word, but this didn’t stop him from being full of the Holy Ghost and power. He had enough prayer time and Word in him to be full of faith, so that he could do great wonders and many miracles, as well as the job he was appointed to do. Stephen shows us that the common man with an ordinary job can still be mighty in God.

  2. Verses 8-10 MSG “Stephen, brimming with God’s grace and energy, was doing wonderful things among the people, unmistakable signs that God was among them. But then some men from the meeting place whose membership was made up of freed slaves, Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and some others from Cilicia and Asia, went up against him trying to argue him down. But they were no match for his wisdom and spirit when he spoke.”

Luke 12:11-12 AMP “When they bring you before the synagogues and the magistrates and the authorities, do not be worried about how you are to defend yourselves or what you are to say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

Luke 21:14-15 AMP “So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; for I will give you [skillful] words and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.” As verse 15 MSG says “As all those who sat on the High Council looked at Stephen, they found they couldn’t take their eyes off him—his face was like the face of an angel!”

  3. 7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priest were obedient to the faith.

  4. Full of faith and filled with the holy ghost. That’s exactly what these men were . they were preaching, teaching and doing miracles through the Faith and through The Holy Ghost. That’s the kind of people we need Today . Full of Faith, Full of the Holy Ghost and not afraid of the Gospel. Not to be afraid of what men can do but to be afraid of what God’s Wrath can do.

  5. 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

The word of God increased… The number of desciples multiplied. To increase we must give our selves continually to prayer and studying the word. Prayer draws our sprit closer to his sprit and the word shapes our mind to the mind of God which influences our behavior to that of God. As we grow in the body of Christ it is essential for prayer and ministering the word.

  6. Acts 6:7, “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”

    Kingdom Growth!

  7. Acts6:4 (English Amp) But we will continue to devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and the ministry of the word. Stephen was a man full of faith a strong and welcome belief that Jesus is the Messiah. He was full of grace ( divine blessing and power ( strength and abilty). He worked great wonders and signs ( miracles) among the people. If we just repent, Give our lives to God , Ask God for help , His spirit in us will guild us , teach us, protect us. To build a stronger and deeper faith and relationship with him. If God is for us than who can be against us. Praise God.

  8. 1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Often people want to come to church and just sit, soaking up The Word of God and, they are completely content. Here we see the need in doing more. The more people buy in, the more that can happen with little effort… it’s just unfortunate that some don’t want to extend any effort.

  9. 5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

God’s Kingdom is a kingdom of order. Once there is order in all that we do His Kingdom can increase.

  10. If there is ever a time for leadership, it is when the body begins to murmer and complain. Yes, there may even be a grievance to address, but it doesn’t need to distract the focus from God’s direction for the church. ‘Wherefore brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.’ All that was required of those that would provide the leadership for this situation is that they be honest and full of the holy ghost and wisdom.

Leadership however, is more than just a position.. it is about how we use our influence in the kingdom of God. Men of honest report have a heart that is seeking after God and have reached the point in their walk with God that his difference is evident in their character. We are commanded to have a good report within and even without the body and honesty provides a powerful impetus for that report. Honesty alone however was not sufficient for leadership in the body. They weren’t looking for resumes, they were looking for men full of the holy ghost. They needed the spiritual discernment not only to provide for their immediate needs, but to keep them engaged so the spiritual leadership of the church could operate without distraction.

Notice however their qualifications did not end there… because it requires more than just a good heart and a good spirit to provide consistent leadership. Men full of wisdom have taken the earnest effort to pursue that desire. They have applied their talents to the kingdom and are willing to work diligently and apply what God has provided to their life. Wisdom is more than a collection of knowledge… it is the practical application of that knowledge to the situations of life. Leadership can’t just say what should be done, they need to demonstrate what can be done. As James would say, they need to be doers and not just hearers of the law. Anyone can lead by their example, and that example is demonstrated by what we choose to do… because anyone can say anything. It is when their words agree with their actions as they honestly pursue after spiritual wisdom that they can be trusted to lead in the kingdom of God.

  11. Acts 6

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Full of Faith there is no doubt when someone is full of faith what God will do. Stephen was able to do great things because faith and power when mixed will cause an explosive result for the Kingdom of God.
Lord I pray today that my faith will soar! You have already said we have the powet so there will be results lead us as we walk among the world that Your Greatness will be reveaked to the unbelievers in Jesus Name! Let every day be about reaching someone for the Kingdom!

  12. 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

What are you giving yourself to? Over these next week’s of 40 Days of Fire let’s especially commit our whole selves to God in prayer and ministry of His Word!

  13. The Word of God prospered. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased dramatically. Not least, a great many priests submitted themselves to the faith.
    Acts 6:7 MSG
A man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost. Without the faith and the Spirit of GOD we cannot grow and work effectively. Thank you JESUS for 40 days of fire!!!

  14. 15. The entire council turned its gaze on Stephen to see how he would respond. They were shocked to see his face radiant with peace-as if he were a heavenly messenger. Voice

Whether they are the ones doing the accusing, the ones receiving the accusations, or just bystanders, the world is watching to see how we respond in every situation. Stephen’s face radiated peace – does ours?

  15. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

He spoke in the authority of the Holy Ghost. He spoke with holy boldness. I pray for the same boldness to come over us so that we may stand against the persecution, against any fear and walk in the preparation of the Gospel of Peace!

  16. iLove the Kingdom
2Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
3Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Wow, these Apostles were bold. If this would have been the 21st century these preachers would have been blasted on Facebook for not wanting to do their jobs. The truth of the matter is, it is not the will of God for pastors to go to and fro and serve people’s needs in the flesh. Yes that’s right. The scripture says the will of God was for the preacher to be given to the Word of God and prayer. Wow, revelation time folks

  17. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

    The opportunity to serve others.

We all have this opportunity to serve others, each day at our jobs and schools. How do we serve though. It may be as simple as a word of encouragement or as big as doing something for someone. Allow God to direct your path to be a light and servant to others. Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to work and serve your kingdom.

  18. “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:4, 7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Come on now! Let’s Harvest some folk, we should be praying daily and ministering to the Lost. I can promise you there’s someone out there starving to know the Truth. Every time we hear something good we wanna share it right? Well that’s how we’re gonna get the word of God to increase by opening our mouths and sharing the Godpel of Jesus Christ. It’s don’t have to be the past good news, tell these people what’s going on now! The miracles, signs, and wonders

  19. But as the belivers repidky multiplied, there were rumblings of
    discontent. …

The challenge of a large group is to deal with characters as each individual is unique with different needs a different perspectives.

  20. “Then they presented them to the apostles. Praying, the apostles laid on hands and commissioned them for their task.” MSG

Leaving in our own time versus being appointed, anointed and sent by God in His time.

Have you ever left anything? It is a terrible feeling. It leaves an emptiness when we leave something that is dear to us. I am reminded of Jonah this morning. Jonah left a lot when he left the Lord. He left his anointing and authority that God gave him. I believe we have all known people who desired to do great things for God, but in getting out of His will, they left those anointing and authority when they left Him.

Jonah also left his obligations. Once they were active in the ministry of God, but today they are asleep. Jonah also left his communication. I have seen this in the faces of people who once prayed and had a direct relationship with Jesus. Now, it seems, since they left His will and took matters into their own hands, they left the ability to communicate with Him. Jonah also left his reputation. I’ve seen men and women who once were looked on with respect and appreciation. Once they had a testimony. But when they left the Lord’s will, they left their reputations and their testimonies behind.

We often talk about what it costs to serve God, but Jonah gives us a vivid picture of what it costs to leave God.

  21. The Hellenistic Jews complained against the others about the care of the widows.

As the church increased in size so did its needs, but the ministry of the Word should not be neglected because of administrative burdens.

  22. 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.
10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

When you know the word of God and are full of the Holy ghost, the enemy cannot back you into a corner. The word is sharper than any 2 edged sword and is designed to instruct, correct, rebuke…and as shown in these scriptures, the people against this gospel couldn’t find the fault they were looking for. We must be apt to teach at all times.

  23. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

If God be for us, who can be against us? These men were full of the holy ghost, anointed, called disciples. Yet there were people that were against them, spreading false accusations. However the favor of the Lord was upon them, as they were taken before the counsel because of the lies, their face shined with the presence of the Lord as of an angel.

If we are living in the Spirit, walking in the Spirit, doing the Father’s business every day, His favor will be upon us. Regardless of what opposition comes, God will bear His mighty arm and deliver us. The same power that opened prison doors for Paul and Silas, and Peter is the same power and same God that we worship. Don’t be afraid, be bold. God will cover and protect.

  24. 6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Everything we do should be done in prayer. When we make decisions and we do not go to God first we go in our own power. Yet when we go to God with everything and listen for His voice we go in His power. Here we see the results of going in His power “great wonders and miracles” happened among the people.

  25. 5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

Vs 5 states that he was a man FULL of faith! He was chosen because he was FULL of faith and Holy Ghost.

    What are we FULL of?
If what we put in is what we put out, what are we putting in?

James 2:23 ” And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God.

Faith. Stephen was chosen due to his faith and Abraham was considered a friend due to his faith.

  26. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

So thankful to have a man of God that makes sure that our leaders are filled with The Holy Ghost, wise, and honest.

  27. THY KINGDOM COME
    INCREASE

7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Is it coincidence that as the WORD of GOD increased, that the disciples increased?

    NO

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,…

Government is established by a set a laws. When we submit ourselves to the laws of the Kingdom of GOD which is The WORD of GOD. Not only does HIS Kingdom increase, but also there will be an increase of the PEACE of GOD.

Seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD is repeatedly demonstrated throughout the WORD of GOD and the result or FRUIT of this Kingdom principal is INCREASE.

Thank you everyone for committing to 40 Days of FIRE. What we experienced on Sunday Night was more than a good song delivered by an anointed praise team and it was that. What we witnessed last night was The Kingdom GOD manifest among us. The result of combustion is explosion and as we continue to make ourselves ready to burn for JESUS. There is no telling or end to what JESUS will do.

Thank you JESUS for 5 souls baptized in JESUS name on Sunday Night.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray

  28. 15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

    HALELUJAH!!! GOD IS GOOD!!!

  29. 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

If we are not giving of ourselves in prayer, fasting, the word of God and the Kingdom of God, then what are we giving ourselves to? It is important that not only for these 40 days, but for every day after as well, to give of ourselves in the building of His Kingdom!

  30. 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

When you filled with the Holy Ghost and you have the favor of God with you the enemy would do anything he can to try to bring you down it doesn’t make the enemy happy
Thank God for the Holy Ghost the same power that Rose Jesus from the grave lives in US

  31. 5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

  32. “So the Twelve gathered all the believers together. They said, “It wouldn’t be right for us to give up teaching God’s word in order to wait on tables. Brothers, choose seven of your men. They must be known as men who are wise and full of the Holy Spirit. We will turn this important work over to them. Then we can give our attention to prayer and to teaching the word.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:2-4‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

This scripture is a great example of leadership and Word of Wisdom. If we need wisdom we can go to God and He’ll give us wisdom. “If any of you need wisdom, ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone. He doesn’t find fault.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  33. Josiah: 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue…disputing with Stephen.
10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
When we give ourselves to God it is amazing what God can do through us. When we have faith and the power of the Holyghost we can speak with spiritual authority. We ourselves just have to be willing. We all will not be preachers but we all can be part of the ministry. So, let us GO BE WILLING VESSELS!

  34. Acts 6: 8-10
10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

no one can resist the word of God when we r fill of power and wisdom of God

  35. NLT 1 But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.

You have to wonder how easy it is for people to have discontent among them. Yes, we all have different thoughts, but we should be in agreement. The old phrase, “why can’t we just all get along”. It only takes a few to start a rumor, or to gossip and then everyone will start to believe what was said. Lets be careful what we share, with whom we share, and when we share. Don’t start a rumor, only present what is known, and go to the source.

  36. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

Alot of times people can not handle the truth, if you tell them the truth and they are wrong and start to feel the sting of conviction in their life, and they dont want to change, they lash out to the one who is the messenger of the truth, they try to cast doubt on their MSG, and also they gather false witnesses against them, Help me Lord to receive any word that you have for me, and Let me not be hateful but grateful for your love and correction!

  37. But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.
Acts of the Apostles 6:1 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.6.1.NLT

As we continue to grow there will always be discontent. We aren’t human if there isn’t. We just need to remember what our objective is and continue to serve one another. Don’t let discontent and rumblings from people take you away from the will of God.

  38. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

  39. And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

Hitherto the disciples had been of one accord; this often had been noticed to their honour; but now they were multiplied, they began to murmur. The word of God was enough to take up all the thoughts, cares, and time of the apostles. The persons chosen to serve tables must be duly qualified. They must be filled with gifts and graces of the Holy Ghost, necessary to rightly managing this trust; men of truth, and hating covetousness. All who are employed in the service of the church, ought to be commended to the Divine grace by the prayers of the church. They blessed them in the name of the Lord. The word and grace of God are greatly magnified, when those are wrought upon by it, who were least likely.

  40. 4 But we will [continue to] devote ourselves [steadfastly] to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” (AMP)
The apostles had to establish early on their priorities by being devoted to prayer and service or ministry of the Word. The ministry of the Word is used especially of the Christian teacher and helps ground the hearer. We are thankful for the ministry of the Word at POFW and pray it continues to have free course and be glorified!

  41. 7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

  42. 1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

As the church grows it is important to not let smaller things fall to the side. Just as when you get another pet, you do not stop caring for your old one; you keep caring for both of them. Or if you get a new book, you do not throw away an old one, you keep both of them. Even in my life as I grow in Christ, I need to be sure that I do not let the smaller aspects of my walk with God be forgotten. Praise the Lord for He is Great! He is all knowing and never forgetful! Praise the Lord!

  43. “8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.” Through God all things are possible. When you are filled inside with God’s spirit and full of faith God can use you like he used Stephen. God is great and through him he can use you to reach out to the lost and needy. When you place him first in your life you will see yourself grow spiritually closer to the Lord and see him change you. Always continue to grow in faith and never doubt him. He is the Lord and nothing is to hard for him. Continue to serve the Lord and always continue to place him first in your life.

  44. The bad mem spread rumors against Stephen saying that he cursed God. So we should never talk bad about God, the only way we should talk about God is to spread his word to the lost and make them found.

  45. 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”

God our attention is on you and you alone in prayer and ministry! Everyday let us be in unity in fasting, prayer and, your word God so that your spirit will flow throughout us to let Your Kingdom come and have your will!

  46. 9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

The minute the true beliver started doing the work in the Kingdom appointed to him the devil attacked with lies. But we know that He was a man of great testimony. It is important that we guard our testimony for it will stand against any lie.

  47. 7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
It is not by our strength, nor by our night that great wonders are done. It is done none other than by the power of Jesus Christ.

  48. It is important that we are full of the Holy Ghost. We never know what the enemy will try to throw at us. Being prepared is essential in our walk with God. We must not allow the enemy to detour us from God’s plan.

  49. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

The enemy cannot stand when growth and increase comes into the kingdom. Stephen is full of the Holy Ghost and power and nothing can stand in the way of the will of God. The teeth of the lion of the enemy tries to devour the people of God and when his people come to the revelation of Jesus and salvation they shut hells mouth. We can resist the enemy and he flees but when we speak out of the wisdom of God and not of our own understand the enemy cannot resist.

  50. 7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

  51. Acts 6:7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly ; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Colossians 1:6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

The gospel will bring forth fruit;that is, when embraced by faith, the gospel produces godly character

  52. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

Nothing that we do is in vain! Every year, every prayer is heard by God and God will do something about it in it’s perfect timing. You want results, there will be a sacrifice for anything. Even though we are living in a world where people want things done in an instant. Sometimes God doesn’t work that way….a seed takes time, love, patience, sacrifice, care, etc to grow into what God intended that seed to be. What do we want from? No Prayer is in Vain!!!

  53. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

Lord I wanna be a man that can not resist your Holy Ghost and wisdom daily. I want to long for you and the things of you. Thank you Jesus for making me more like you daily. Some may say you don’t need to go to church, but what we know and they don’t is that the word of God is sweeter in person that wasting “Virtual” Honey.

    Conversions

The word spread and and a great number obeyed—conversions.

  55. The road of a minister is not promised to be smooth and easy going. Stephen was mightily used of God but he came against great resistance. When God starts to elevate you, it is sure to draw the attention of the enemy. We have to remember that our reward is not here, but the other side. You cannot threaten someone with their reward.

  56. None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.(Acts of the Apostles 6:10 NLT)

The enemy has no power over a child of God the emeny hates to be wrong and to loose but there’s nothing that the enemy can do to a child of God that’s full of wisdom and full of the Holy spirit just like Stephen spoke.
