Acts Chapter 10

40 Days of FIRE – Day 10

Day 10: Acts Ch.10. The Fire continues as God connects Peter with a Roman soldier named Cornelius. Although the Christian faith began among Jews, it is beginning to make its way to Gentiles (non-Jews) as well. Prayerfully thank God for His love and acceptance of all people from all backgrounds and all nations. Also, pray that we would be filled with the Love of God and would love others as Christ has loved us.

Acts 10

There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,

18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

20 Arise therefore, and get thee down, and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them.

21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?

22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

23 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

24 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

27 And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.

28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

32 Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.

33 Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

  1. I love the supernatural interventions of God in this chapter on behalf of those who are seeking Him.

First, Cornelius has a vision from God in prayer where he is given very specific instructions about where to send for whom so that he can hear the truth and be saved.

Then, Peter is in prayer and sees the same vision three times. These are followed by the Spirit clearly speaking to him and instructing him to do something he would never have done before he saw the visions.

Finally, while Peter is still preaching, the Holy Ghost is poured out mightily on everyone present.

It seems that God was very invested in making sure that Cornelius’ household shared in the salvation experience. He prepared their hearts, He prepared the preacher’s heart, and He overcame any objections there might have been in the believers’ hearts who were present.

We must conclude that our God is more active in the Harvest than we can imagine. Thus, if He leads us to someone, we can rest assured that He is already working all things together to bring that person unto Himself. It is not our job then to figure out all the particulars; we just need to live in a spirit of prayer so that we are sensitive enough to hear His instruction when He gives it and obedient enough to act accordingly.

  2. Verses 34-36 MSG “Peter fairly exploded with his good news: “It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open. The Message he sent to the children of Israel—that through Jesus Christ everything is being put together again—well, he’s doing it everywhere, among everyone.” I love this…..”There is Room in the House of God for Everybody” as Bishop Cornwell always says!! The time is NOW to explode POFW with this good news.

  3. 34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said, in truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.

  4. Revival continues but this time it’s with the gentiles. God told Peter to do this. Now we also can recieve the gift of the holy ghost . it’s truly amazing now because we also can be baptized. That’s everybody . Acts 2 and Acts 10 are filled with revival .

  5. 1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Yes God is teaching to those who have no idea about Acts 2:38 yet they are sincere .
They are just waiting for us to open our mouth take a risk walk across a room and speak to them.

30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,

31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

We must let them know Peter could not understand at first what God was asking iof him. It was new and different the Holy Ghost had not been given to anyone but the Jews now it was being poured out on all men. Thank you Jesus now we too must teach anyone we can don’t question those you begin to encounter they too may be fasting asking for someone to lead them to the truth.
Be bold Be Strong He has equipped us for Such A Time as This!

  6. What greater love hath man than this, that a man would lay down his life for his friends? If we doubt the importance of love, let us consider the great price of Calvary. God gave all that those he created might through his love have the opportunity to choose to remain with him! It is a choice that leads us into an ever greater understanding of the power of God’s love. Once we recognize his love and return it ourselves, we can begin to demonstrate his love unto all!

His love is important! It can and should make a difference everywhere we go because, ‘Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.’ If the threshold for God is everyone of every nation, how can the church afford to show anything less? We need his love to propel us through every open door, speaking the truth with love!

Notice that Peter and the other apostles were never afraid to speak the truth! Our love is not demonstrated in silence… our silence leaves them unchanged and heading for certain destruction. If we go in love, we go in truth! Speaking the truth in love… the whole gospel to the whole world! That is God’s perfect desire for his people. Oh that all people would know and see his love as his gospel of peace is proclaimed with our lips at every opportunity!

  7.  God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead

  8. 15 But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.” (NLT)

Oh thank You Jesus for cleansing me!! God opened the doors for everyone to be saved, all we have to do now is be obedient to the voice of God like these men did. If God speaks it, GO and don’t worry! He’ll have it all planned out according to His will.

  9. iLove the Kingdom

As I read the Word this morning, it struck me how the Holy Ghost was leading Peter away from Jerusalem on a missionary trip. In the previous chapter, Peter traveled to the ancient crossroads town of Lydda,
where he healed crippled Aeneas. The believers in
Joppa, an old port city, sent for him after a wonderful
woman died. Peter went and brought her back to life.
While in Joppa, Peter had a vision that led him to take the gospel to Cornelius, a Gentile, in Caesarea.

Peter simply obeyed the voice of the Lord and signs and wonders followed.

  10. 34. Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

    45. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

God is no respecter of persons – let’s not limit Him to only those we think might receive His Word.

  11. 34 Then Peter begin to speak: I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism
35 but except man from every nation who fear him and do what is right.

  12. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

With God as our Lord, we do not get to decide who is worthy of the Gospel. We don’t run by our own schedules and we don’t have our own agenda above guns at the end of the day it is the Lord who decides who he puts in our steps and pathways but God has the Supreme Being out of our life he decides if someone interrupts us and we do not get to choose who we reach for or who is our duty to teach Bible studies to and who needs his love the most, that’s the point of God being the judge ise that he decides who is going to hear the gospel and who is going to teach it to them. If God has chosen you to reach somebody it means that you are perfectly fit and that it is quite possible no one else could reach that person the way you do. My Philosophy is that it is our duty to reach Every Soul that God puts in our path and then let God decide the rest.

  13. “Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. The Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles, too. For they heard them speaking in other tongues and praising God. Then Peter asked,”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭10:44-46‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is so faithful! Thank you Jesus that the Holy Ghost is for all who are hunger and thirst. He is just and fair. I’m thankful for His love, grace and mercy.

  14. 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Sometimes we don’t need to worry about the how and the why of how something’s going to work out. We just need to obey the voice of the Lord and go. We have within us the good news and promise of Jesus Christ. We need to get on fire about this Gospel! He said before He ascended to teach all nations on the beauty and promise of the baptism. And further told Peter to touch what was considered unclean. The Lord will open the doors. We just need to be obedient and walk through. Generations of people are counting on us. THY KINGDOM COME. Let THY WILL be done in Earth as it is in Heaven.

  15. I Love to worship the Lord
    36-43
Peters preaching presents in clear fashion the gospil how Christ lived and.died was raised from the dead and how He did this sacrificially and vicariously for.our sins

  16. 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)

    Let God Speak!!!!

Let God speak into your life. As these scriptures show us. After He died he welcomed all into His Kingdom. WE are all Servants of the Most High God.

  17. And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
God Is Watching every move we make, and brothers, and sisters ,and newcomers. Watch what you say or what you do for their sake. They might be trying to make a decision accordingly what they see and what they hear to follow God or not.

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
    Acts 10:31‭, ‬34‭-‬35 KJV

Don’t label people by their appearance or their background, God will choose whoever he wants to make a point.

  18. Acts 10:44-46
    44) While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
    45) And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    46) For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Thank You JESUS that you are no respecter of persons.
Thank You JESUS for the Holy Ghost.

  19. 6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

He was a great man, a praying man, a righteous man a man who seen a angel yet he needed to meet a man of God to tell him what to do. The bible says that by the foolishness of preaching God saves people. We must be open to receive the preached word of God even when it doesn’t feel comfortable. We must receive it and accept it because it is the way God is going to save our world.

  20. 25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

All Peter did was the call of God, he made it clear that he was a man just like him. Peter didn’t ask for Cornelius to bow down. As a man of God he kept it strict business and was sincere about the calling he received.
“If a young man learns to preach before he’s a soul winner he will always look for a pulpit”
If the script was flipped and Peter accepted Cornelius bowing down to him I pray we could’ve easily identified what peters purpose was. Instead we see Peters true purpose and that soul winning. As a man of God or woman of God our purpose should be soul winning like the 12 deciples. Be like Peter search for the Lost.

Bless you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

  21. 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

    40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

  22. A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway. And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually; And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
    Acts 10:2‭, ‬7‭-‬7‭, ‬28 KJV
While I was reading 10 28 that no men should be called common or unclean this came to don’t ever think that men doesn’t want to hear the good news spoke to couple people yesterday about the good news just told them about the event that coming up in our church you never know if someone needs that word

  23. “So he gave orders for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterward Cornelius asked him to stay with them for several days.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭10:48‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Cornelius wanted Peter to stay with him for several days, because as a new believer he knew that he still needed teaching, fellowship and to be surrounded by people of great faith.

We too need to help new believers by teaching them, loving them, and being their friend. Lead them by example!

  24. 15 But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”

This verse reminds me of a song, I can’t remember the name of it but in the song, the singer begins to exhort. She begins proclaiming the advisory can only lie; “so when he says I’m worthless”, “I tell him I’m worthy.”

I pray we become that bold with the understanding that the advisory is a liar. That what he says is only a trick or tactic to knock us out. So as the singer says: when he says I’m unclean, I tell him I’m clean for the Lord has made me clean!

  25. Acts 10:35 (English Amp) But in nation he who venerates and has a reverential fear for God, treating Him with worshiped obedience and living uprightly, is acceptable to Him and sure of being received and welcomed ( by Him). You know the contents of the message which He sent to Israel, announcing the good news ( Gospel) of peace by Jesus Christ, Who is Lord of all. God is giving everyone a chance to receive him as your saviour for your life. Who will believe in Him and Trust in him. His Heaven is big enough for everyone. Come to The Pentcostals of Fort Worth and be blessed. We love everyone and we welcome everyone.

  26. THY KINGDOM COME
    OBEY THE KINGS VOICE

How many souls are missing the TRUTH of Salvation just as Peter told here in Acts 10; only because the ambassadors of The KING will not hearken to HIS voice.

We often use the reasoning that what we hear from the LORD does not make sense. However, after reading this chapter, Cornelius would still be lost if he a sinner didn’t obey the voice he heard and if Peter the servant had not obeyed the voice that he heard.

Who is JESUS speaking to you about today. We must not concerned or cumbered with the details. We are called to be OBEDIENT and Share the GOSPEL with those that are lost.

  27. AMP – 30 Cornelius said, “Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour (3:00-4:00 p.m.); and a man [dressed] in bright, dazzling clothing suddenly stood before me, 31 and he said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your acts of charity have been remembered before God [so that He is about to help you].

Cornelius was obviously praying for greater relationship with the Lord and God heard his prayer. He was willing to be obedient and open his home to whomever was sent by the Lord to bring that revelation. Peter was listening to the Lord as well, and obedient to take the gospel to whomever the Lord sent him too. Therefore, we have a divine appointment right before our eyes. One obedient to receive, one obedient to go.

This is how “walking in the spirit” is in my eyes. I believe there are people all over the region of our city praying for God to send someone to them to show them a deeper revelation, relationship with Him. We must be willing to listen and be obedient to go and be sensitive to know who those individuals are.

My prayer during 40 days of fire is that our sensitivity to the Lord become keen, aware and our obedience will always be YES LORD!

  28. 22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

His way of life spoke volumes so that they trusted him……

  29. NLT 28 Peter told them, “You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean.

The Kingdom is for everyone. Its up to us to tell everyone about Jesus, no matter how terrible their past has been. We all were unclean until baptism. There is room in the house of God for everyone.

  30. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

  31. Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right. This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
Acts of the Apostles 10:34‭-‬36 NLT

  32. 16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,

Truly God brings us through certain things for a reason. We may not understand at the time, but we just need to trust God wholeheartedly and know that He is able.

  33. There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

    7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;

8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.

Hitherto none had been baptized into the Christian church but Jews, Samaritans, and those converts who had been circumcised and observed the ceremonial law; but now the Gentiles were to be called to partake all the privileges of God’s people, without first becoming Jews. Pure and undefiled religion is sometimes found where we least expect it. Wherever the fear of God rules in the heart, it will appear both in works of charity and of piety, neither will excuse from the other. Doubtless Cornelius had true faith in God’s word, as far as he understood it, though not as yet clear faith in Christ. This was the work of the Spirit of God, through the mediation of Jesus, even before Cornelius knew him, as is the case with us all when we, who before were dead in sin, are made alive. Through Christ also his prayers and alms were accepted, which otherwise would have been rejected. Without dispute or delay Cornelius was obedient to the heavenly vision. In the affairs of our souls, let us not lose time.

  34. “For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? ””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:46-47‬ ‭

How can anybody forbid the water once believing? How could go with out that extra step to get closer to God.

I pray that all who seek God will seek Scriptures to maginify God and his entirety

  36. 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  37. 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons
God desires each is us to be used for His glory. He loves a humble and willing spirit. It does not matter our background our heritage; God looks at us individually. Our background can be a blessing or a curse.A blessing is we use those experiences for His glory or a curse if we have a haughty, self righteous or defeated spirit and cause those experiences to focus on us rather than Him.

  38. Acts 10 :34,35 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons v.35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and work is righteousness, is accepted with him. Psalm 15 1, 2 Lord, who shall abide in thy Tabernacle? Who shall dwell in the Holy Hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speak it the truth in his heart.

  39. 21 Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius; and said, Behold, I am he whom ye seek: what is the cause wherefore ye are come?
22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.

It is one thing that we say about ourselves, and it is another for someone else to say these kinds of things about us. What do people say about you???

  40. 1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

We are the army and pastor is Cornelius

  41. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

It must have been so amazing to Peter when he put two and two together, Noone knows how God will orcatrate a event, we just have to be willing to obey, and GO, I know Go isnt part of it but im gonna say this, Go has been all through this last couple of chapters! He is so amazing, and I pray that I can be as obedient, and tuned in when he speaks to me, and Go when he says Go!

  42. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Even still evidence that baptism by water and speaking in tongues go hand in hand. Everywhere you look in the bible it speaks about tongues and being baptized in the Lord’s name. If you look all through the bible it goes from Genesis through Revelations. I love learning new things about different verses and how they connect through the bible. Even my wife helping me to look things up and understanding them. Tongues is a powerful tool for prayer in edifying the Lord. Thank you Jesus for this understanding.

  43. 4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Cornelius was an Italian centurion and well knowledgeable of the value of loyalty. He was a giving man to the house and people of God and prayed to him always. He prayed without ceasing and now God will answer his cry. No matter the position life finds us in God will meet us where we are and turn it for his glory.

  44. Josiah: 30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
Cornelius was fasting and praying, like us, and God heard His prayers. Not only did God hear his prayers but He answered them. As we go through forty days of fire we need to know that God can answer our prayers. You may pray for revelation or direction or more but God can answer it and will if it is with His will. So, let us GO FAITHFULLY PRAY and seek a closer relationship with God!

  45. 17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,
We do not have time to allow doubt to paralyze us from the command of God and His will. We are His sheep and we should know His voice. The Bible says that Hisbsheep knows His voice and they will not follow the voice of a stranger even when it’s their own voice. So, don’t talk yourself or doubt yourself out of the will of God.

  46. 4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

Prayer and giving seem to be key things that will get you the Lord’s attention, come up for memorial before God. In them shows where our heart and trust is at.

  47. PRAYER IS NEVER WASTED!
30 And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
31 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
Cornelius’s prayer and giving to the poor for all those years did not go unnoticed. God remembers EVERY prayer, offering to Him and gift to the poor. He will repay every offering with so much more than we could ever give. Keep praying, keep giving, it is not in vain, our God will remember you!

  48. Peter told them, “You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean.
Acts of the Apostles 10:28 NLT

The word of God is for everybody. It doesn’t matter what race you are or what language you speak. We need to take this word to the whole world. It is not meant for us to judge on who needs it or not , it our job to share Him.

  49. Supernatural confirmation, God confirmed this enlarged vision with a receptive. Cornelius and signs following his conversion and experience that led to new commitment.
When God wants to draw new obedience from His servants, He almost always communicates fresh vision. This is exactly what Peter got. God expands Peters horizons.

  50. “And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s not enough to simply hear from God. You must act on what you have been told. If this “just man”—a good old boy— only heard and never acted, he never would have received. We must pray for our friends that when they hear thy will not be heard only, but also doers of the word. Lord soften all of our hearts to do your will.

  51. And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:

  52. 25-26 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

We must ensure God gets the credit that He is due. We can sometimes give glory to men of God instead of the God of men. Whether a certain man has helped us reach a new level in pray or laid hands on us and we were healed; we must understand that God uses people to work through.

To “glorify” God means to give glory to Him. The word glory as related to God in the Old Testament bears with it the idea of greatness of splendor. In the New Testament, the word translated “glory” means “dignity, honor, praise and worship.” Putting the two together, we find that glorifying God means to acknowledge His greatness and give Him honor by praising and worshiping Him, primarily because He, and He alone, deserves to be praised, honored and worshipped.
