Acts Chapter 12

40 Days of FIRE – Day 31

Day 31: Acts Ch.12. As so often happens, while we are serving where the Lord has called us, the Holy Ghost may call us to other work. What we do not understand is that, while we are serving and ministering to the Lord, He is preparing us for other works. God has designed us to grow and go, not to sit and soak and sour. Notice what Luke wrote, “The Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for Me . . . “The work of the Lord is set apart work, the work of the Lord is Spiritually-charged work, and the work of the Lord is sacred work– for His purposes only. When we grasp the enormity and importance of what it means to serve the Lord, then the call and the service make more sense. Ask God to help you live the reality of Ephesians 2:10 through your own life.

Acts 12

Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.

18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.

19 And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode.

20 And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country.

21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.

22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem, when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

    Acts 12:1‭-‬3‭, ‬21‭-‬24 KJV

Herod was a godless individual willing to sacrifice the church for his own personal gain. However, no matter how powerful or important you become on Earth, you can’t escape the laws of God. His Word says that you reap what you sow. Herod sowed violence and murder, and he reaped a horrible death.

God will be God. You can’t stop Him. You can’t stand against Him. You can’t defy His plans, invalidate His Word, or steal His glory. Herod had his soldiers to protect him, but they couldn’t do a thing when God unleashed just one angel. Moreover, everything Herod did to stop the church came to naught when God used his (Herod’s) death to magnify His Word and to convert even more souls to His Truth. Our God is great and greatly to be praised!!

  2. Verses 12-14 MSG “Still shaking his head, amazed, he went to Mary’s house, the Mary who was John Mark’s mother. The house was packed with praying friends. When he knocked on the door to the courtyard, a young woman named Rhoda came to see who it was. But when she recognized his voice—Peter’s voice!—she was so excited and eager to tell everyone Peter was there that she forgot to open the door and left him standing in the street.” Sometimes, we are so involved in what we are doing (in our daily life) that we forget to open the door to the answer that is knocking at the door. Help us Lord to be more sensitive to your voice and respond to your calling.

  3. THY KINDOM COME
    THE POWER OF PRAYER

5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Challenging times are plenteous, and we the church are poised to PRAY, BELIEVE and WITNESS the supernatural power of GOD. JESUS will answer our prayer and HE will perform the unexplainable and we will witness the supernatural power of GOD.

It is important that we maintain our search and quest for The Kingdom of GOD to be our FIRST desire and request. JESUS will answer our prayers in unnatural and unprecedented ways. We must be willing to ask the impossible to our powerful GOD.

JESUS is KING of Kings and has all POWER in Heaven and earth.

JESUS will bring the answer to a PRAYing Church.

  4. 13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

This story is so similar two when Jesus was sleeping on the boat and the disciples woke him up and he calmed the sea and out of their faith. The church here is praying fervently for Peter to be released and as soon as he is released they won’t even believe what has taken place and when they finally discover Peter is there they are astonished. They were praying but didn’t have the faith to believe that it was possible. I do not believe it was a prayers that released him from prison because Jesus told Peter long before that that he would die in older man but it shows you the lack of faith the church had which is an example of what we should not be doing. If we’re going to pray we need to have faith and not be surprised that it’s going to happen because we are truly praying for God’s will to be done

  5. Acts24:25 (English Amp) But the word of the Lord [concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God] continued to grow and spread.
[25] And Barnabas and Saul came back from Jerusalem when they had completed their mission, bringing with them John whose surname was Mark. But meanwhile keep on putting Jesus first and keep on preaching the word of God to this world. Don’t be afraid to be a witness for the lord! He will protect us wherever we go. Go and reach and teach someone that is hurting, Pray for there need, love them, Invite them to church. Be a Incourge for Jesus.

  6. “And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭12:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭12:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let’s look at this, this is he first thing that shot to my mind
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Peter gets out of prison because he listened. The Angel of the Lord said unto him, “GET DRESSED” then he said “PUT ON YOUR COAT”
In other words hes saying put your armor on we gonna get you out of the pen. I remember when I heard that voice of the Lord say come on it’s time Get up and get ready for church then I was filled with Holy Ghost. I was brought out of the Prison of darkness. Then I protected myself with the armor of Hod immediately. I’m not going back I’ll ln bet go back.

    Be Blessed in Jesus name

  7. 1. Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

    2. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

    3. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Evil is never satisfied. No matter how much heartache and destruction it has caused, it is never enough. It will continue and accelerate until it is stopped.

  8. 23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

God deserves the glory in all situations. No matter how big Or small of a battle you win God deserves the Glory!

  9. Acts 12
14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

The damsel knew Peters voice. She recognized it without seeing his face . Today I think about how we cannot see God but we can hear his voice . We can recognize it and be filled with joy as the damsel was . We can deliver the message that Jesus Christ is alive. Jesus stands at the door knocking and wants us to recognize His voice. He wants us to declare who He is!!!!! Our prayers are being heard we are going to see our prayers answered . Let faith arise and push out every doubt and unbelief in Jesus name! For the Kingdom!

  10. I think the key value we should take from this is in verse 5 where it says prayer was made without ceasing. When have corporate prayer, (the collective body of the church) praying seems to me to be more impactful than just one person because the greatest results from prayer come with unity. Hence in the second chapter of Acts the first church grew into Discord and unity was no longer there. However succeeding chapters show that unity can be restored with a collective harmony of believers. Likewise, relationship with God draws favor from God.

  11. Peter finally came to his senses. “The Lord has sent his angel
and saved me from Herod and from what the Jewish leaders
had planned to do to me!”
    Acts 12:11 NLT

When the Supernatural takes place are natural Minds can’t comprehend.

  12. 22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

God is not mocked nor will he give his glory to another. He makes sure the people who wanted to gain Herod’s favor knew who God is or isn’t in the King’s situation. God clearly showed that Herod was an evil man receiving his punishment. We can not compromise with this world’s rulers nor try to gain their favor. We must please the King of Kings only and be used of him so we can hear Well done my good and faithful servant.

  13. 21 On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sit on his throne and delivered a public address to the people.
22 They shouted, this is the voice of a god, not of a man.
23 Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, and angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

  14. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

Hearing all things we have heard the past couple of days. My faith has been stretched and it has grown. Knowing we are in the last days, no question. And really grasping that reality. It is time for us, the church to arise and GO. GO be THY KINGDOM and tell anyone and everyone what we know. And that is JESUS Christ is LORD!

  15. iLove the Kingdom
    Ya Snooze Ya Lose
Acts 12:7 NLT Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists.

One thing we notice here is the urgency in the angel. Look at what he tells Peter, “Quick! Get Up!” This is very intriguing for a number of reasons. Why is the angel in a hurry? Could Peter have missed his deliverance if he would have pushed the “snooze” button? It appears to me that even the angels are governed by time…

This also reminds me of Sodom and Gomorrah, Genesis 19:15 NLT At dawn the next morning the angels became insistent. “Hurry,” they said to Lot. “Take your wife and your two daughters who are here. Get out right now, or you will be swept away in the destruction of the city!”

Once again, we find the angels of God hurrying Lot and his daughters out of the city. Just a reminder, the angels were sent by God to destroy the city. This reveals to me that we (as the Children of God) cannot sit back in cruise control and say, “Yeah, God has it all in control”…While God does indeed have it all in control, you might only have a “moment” in time to escape.

Please don’t push the snooze button on God…

  16. “The assembled people kept shouting, “It is the voice of a god and not of a man!” And at once an angel of the Lord struck him down because he did not give God the glory [and instead permitted himself to be worshiped], and he was eaten by worms and died [five days later].”
    ‭‭ACTS‬ ‭12:22-23‬ ‭AMP‬‬

All glory and honor belongs to God our Lord Jesus Christ. Herod received the glory and didn’t give it to God. This sounds familiar like in Ezekiel 28:2

““Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Because your heart is lifted up And you have said and thought, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of the gods In the heart of the seas’; Yet you are [only] a man [weak, feeble, made of earth] and not God, Though you [imagine yourself to be more than mortal and] think your mind is as [wise as] the mind of God–”
    ‭‭EZEKIEL‬ ‭28:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This is not the last time this will happen. The antichrist will rise up and do the same thing but we need to watch and pray that we are not deceived.

“Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed], who opposes and exalts himself [so proudly and so insolently] above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he [actually enters and] takes his seat in the temple of God, publicly proclaiming that he himself is God.”
    ‭‭2 THESSALONIANS‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  17. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
Acts of the Apostles 12:5 NLT
When the church prays, we shall see what The LORD desres for POFW! He isn’t done. Great REVIVAL, miracles, signs and wonders continue here in our city!!!!

  18. Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.
    Acts 12:18 KJV

What become of Peter. That’s the same question that your friends say on each other what happened to him. What happened people start missing you because you stopped going to places when you get save. Month later they see you and you look totally different you have found a grace of God.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  19. The Word of God clearly declares that he will not share his glory with another. This statement by itself should dispel any man made notions of a triumvirate somehow working in harmony together, but it extends throughout his kingdom. In this passage we see that principle extended even further when ‘Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.’

This may not appear to make much sense… don’t so many others in the world exalt themselves and their authority? This acclamation however, was made by the people… the very same people that were supposed to be serving their God. Their praise was seeking the favor of another king who had exerted his authority upon them. Herod was not going to steal the glory from God’s people and he had seen enough that he should have known better than to bask in their praise. He wanted to stop this new doctrine and it’s message before it consumed the area where he was supposed to keep the peace, ‘But the word of God grew and multiplied.’

This example should give pause to many a stray thought that would welcome the prideful praise of man towards ourselves or anything we do in the kingdom of God. If God didn’t spare the secular king, why would he allow such a spirit amongst those who are supposed to be leading his people in the spiritual realm? Meekness and humility are the garments of God’s kingdom and those can be worn and fit well even as we boldly declare his Gospel… as long as we’re giving the praise unto God and not ourselves. For His is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever! Amen!

  20. 22 And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.

23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

Many people have given themselves titles or people labelled famous people with titles that dont belong to them… King of pop….king of rock… God of rap…

There is only one God and one King or kings, his name is Jesus.

    God will always make away.

  21. Acts 12:5-7, 16
    5) Peter therefore was kept in prison, but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
    6) And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
    7) And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
    16) But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished. (surprised and amazed)

    “Never Stop Praying”
Prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for…
There are many (loved ones, co-workers, store & restaurant employees, people we meet on the streets, enemies) we have been praying for that are in a spiritual prison bound by the chains of sin. “Never Stop Praying” for them for we never know when God is going to shine His Light into their prison and loose them from their chains of sin.
AND don’t be astonished (surprised and amazed) when they come to church, but Rejoice because GOD HEARS OUR PRAYERS FOR THEM.

  22. Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.
Acts of the Apostles 12:23 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/act.12.23.NLT

King Herod Agrippa was literally eaten alive From the Inside Out by worms. God knows our hearts. We need to be careful when taking any credit that should belong to God. It’s okay to take joy and the work that you do and knowing that you do a good job, you produce good quality work or you strive to be a caring friend or that outstretched hand that somebody needs or very dedicated to your Sunday school class or whatever position God puts you in. But the Bible says that if we remain humble God will exalt us but if we get too prideful Cod will bring us down to where we need to be.

  23. 11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Just trust God! Sometimes we go through things that’ll make us question why such terrible things are happening; but I love looking back after a storm has passed and seeing the whole picture of what God did. Like Peter, I sometimes think, “Wow, now I know why all that happened the way it did. I was struggling but God knew what He was doing all along!” We just gotta trust Him!

  24. 8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.

Obedient to the angel, he was delivered from prison. Sometimes we are still in our “prison” whatever that might be for us, because we aren’t obedient when the Lord speaks. It’s time to change our thought process and listen for the still small voice and then follow.

  25. We can learn from Acts 12 that God can be trusted in difficult situations because nothing is too difficult for God to handle!

  26. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

We can learn from this chapter that the prayers of the church does have the power to change the outcome of the events that are taking place. We posses the power to change things by simply just opening our mouths and asking God. So pray often and pray with boldness!
The prayers of these believers were answered, but when that answer arrived at their door, they didn’t believe it. We must be a people of faith and trust that God does and will answer the prayers of those who seek His Will!
    Prayer changes things.
    Prayer changes people.

  27. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place. But the word of God grew and multiplied.
    Acts 12:5‭, ‬17‭-‬17‭, ‬24 KJV
The church prayed when Peter was free he begin testifying about how good broken him free the people doubt it but was killed because they didn’t give GOd GOD the Glory and the and the word of God grew more

  28. 11 And when Peter had come to himself, he said now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.

  29. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

The prayers of the saints still work today just like they used to. When the people of God get together to pray there are amazing things that happen and lives are changed. When the church gets together it moves the very forces of nature and transforms lives. Thank God for a praying, interceding church!!

  30. Acts 12: 16-18
18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Paul.

  31. Acts 12:20-24
    God smites Herod !
    God gets ALL the GLORY!

v.24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

Psalm 115 GLORY to God’s Name
Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it.

  32. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

A peaceful conscience, a lively hope, and the consolations of the Holy Spirit, can keep men calm in the full prospect of death; even those very persons who have been most distracted with terrors on that account. God’s time to help, is when things are brought to the last extremity. Peter was assured that the Lord would cause this trial to end in the way that should be most for his glory. Those who are delivered out of spiritual imprisonment must follow their Deliverer, like the Israelites when they went out of the house of bondage. They knew not whither they went, but knew whom they followed. When God will work salvation for his people, all difficulties in their way will be overcome, even gates of iron are made to open of their own accord. This deliverance of Peter represents our redemption by Christ, which not only proclaims liberty to the captives, but brings them out of the prison-house. Peter, when he recollected himself, perceived what great things God had done for him. Thus souls delivered out of spiritual bondage, are not at first aware what God has wrought in them; many have the truth of grace, that want evidence of it. But when the Comforter comes, whom the Father will send, sooner or later, he will let them know what a blessed change is wrought.

  33. 11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

  34. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
    Acts 12:5 KJV

Isn’t it something that persistent prayer was made but was not believed? Let us believe that God can and will answer our big prayers, that we not leave our miracles waiting at the door when they come.

  35. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

When all seems to be going wrong, just pray! Give God the glory for what He will do and keep on trusting in Him! Even as Peter was delivered physically from his captors through prayer, God can answer our prayers too! Praise the Lord continually for He is great! HE IS MIGHTY! PRAISE THE LORD!

  36. 23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost

Stop and think before you take all the credit. All the glory and the honor belongs to the lord.

  37. “And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He didn’t even realize what happened. He thought it was a dream. He knew things weren’t really going his way and if he was going to get out if was going to take some help. The impossible happened and he just thought it was too good to be true. We need to accept the reality of God is here. He loves us. Let’s get some crazy faith and see what God can do.

  38. Josiah: 23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
We were made to worship God. The only way to truly flourish eternally is through God. As we study, pray, fast and more we can get closer to God and get more of His favor making our lives easier. This King was cursed because he didn’t give God the glory. However we can be blessed because we give God glory. So, let us GO PRAISE the Lord!

  39. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

It is said that everything before a but is nufilied by the but. Here it is also true. Peter was in prison, but prayer was made without ceasing. Here the power of prayer is shown for it can nulify anything that happens before, in prison: pray, Lost: pray, friend lost: pray, hurt? Pray. Pray can act and change everything that happens before. May I to learn to pray without ceasing and build that higher relationship with God.

  40. But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him.
Acts of the Apostles 12:5 NLT

When the church prays live are changed. Chains are broken, communities are set on fire. Battles are won in the Spirit and there is signs, miracles, and wonders. When the church prays our priests and leaders are strengthen and lifted up even the the most toughest situations, God will make a way. Lets continue to pray for our Pastor and leaders.

  41. 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

Don’t avoid Gods nudge! Some of us are so sound asleep comfortable in our chains that we don’t feel the Lords nudge. We go to sleep in chains as of to have given up and accepted our current situation.

All me need is to respond to his call, and our obedience will break our chains.

  42. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

The power of prayer!! We might not see things instantly but doesn’t mean that Gods not working! He is working and is faithfully moving in the midst of it all. We can’t be impatient when we don’t see a prayer right then and now but we must keep praying, believing, and it shall come to pass. No matter what happens we win and God is on our side! We cant loose the faith or stop praying! Now more than ever we shall pray! In Jesus Name!!!

  43. 10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

There is NO THING IMPOSSIBLE FOR MY GOD!!!

  44. 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly.

God has the last word. If it’s not your time to depart this world, He will make an escape of your sickness or situation. It’s amazing how Jesus glorifies Himself in situations like these! It just comes to show that Jesus is the supreme authority of our lives and this world! It doesn’t matter what comes against you, OUR GOD is GREATER!

  45. 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Pray without ceasing because we don’t know who is coming out and being set free because of our prayers.

  46. 8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.

What a mighty scripture! lately, I cannot get out of my mind the service that pastor said we have been given this city and everything within 30 miles we have been given but God immediately spoke to Pastor and he calls out the Northcutt, Quirates, and some others that live further and says forgive me that radius has grown because of these.

There has been an angel that has gone before us and as we follow the instruction of God the gate to these cities will be open to us and it’s not because of anything we’ve done but because of our obedience to follow; we gain access into doors that before seemed to be closed.

Notice that once we safely made it through the city gate and pass at least one street the angel leaves. I believe this is because his assignment was to secure us through everything that could happen before we got into the city (the place of our calling). Just in case the enemy popped his head in our business. Satan is the prince of this world but when God gives His people dominion over a territoy Satan has no authority over that territory any longer. Its been conquered by the people of God and the people of God have what is needed inside of them to fulfill the plan of God in that area.

God has set us free from prison secured us beyond enemy lines and aided us to conquer one street no we should have enough strength and courage to “pursue and recover all!”

  47. 6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

Yet another miraculous prison break only hear the angel wakes him up and leads him out of the city. This is God showing us he is our way maker, all he has to do is speak it and it’s done.
