Acts Chapter 6

40 Days of FIRE – Day 35

Day 35: Acts Ch. 6. The apostles were meeting needs in the church, which could be done by others. They were not saying they were above serving, they simply were serving where they had not been called in order to meet needs. When the Church is using the gifts God has so wonderfully bestowed on each of its members, then the pastor and other ministers can concentrate on their calling. Ask God to help you know how He has gifted you and to help you put that gift to work through the church for His glory.

JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.

Acts 6

And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen.

10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.

15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

  1. And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
    Acts 6:1 KJV

When the Lord multiplies a church, He always saves from every nation, tribe, and tongue. In addition, He brings in the rich and the poor, the up-and-coming and the down-trodden, as well as backsliders and established saints new to the area. His will is that the mixed multitudes should worship Him together in one Spirit and with one Truth.

As God continues to build a diverse congregation in the POFW, we must guard against any division entering in. We must be deliberate about treating all visitors and new converts with the same deference, respect, and love as we treat those who are closest to us. There is no room in the body of Christ for cliques, and there needs to be no tolerance for either prejudice or for sowing discord among the brethren. We should strive toward unity and unfeigned love of the brethren.

Let us be careful not to make place for the devil by listening silently and politely to those who are causing division, but let us correct our brother or sister in the spirit of love and meekness. If they continue murmuring, for the good of the body, we should bring them to the attention of the pastor. God expects us to love and guard those He is going to bring in so that we can have the revival that has been prophesied.

  2. 1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration

If you find a perfect church “stay out of it because you are going to mess it up!!!” I’m not sure if those are the same words but it was something to that effext!!!

  3. Verse 7 MSG “The Word of God prospered. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased dramatically. Not least, a great many priests submitted themselves to the faith.” Same verse ERV “The word of God was reaching more and more people. The group of followers in Jerusalem became larger and larger. Even a big group of Jewish priests believed and obeyed.” When we work obediently together, we can reach more and more people. The Lord has blessed each and every person with special gifts or talents; we just need to say yes to your will and your way Lord. Thy Kingdom Come.

  4. 7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priest were obedient to the faith.

  5. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
    Acts 6:4‭, ‬7‭-‬8‭, ‬10‭-‬14 KJV
It’s important to stay continuously daily prayer and faithful because like Stephen people are going to persecutest for worship God but was filled with wisdom and filled with the holy ghost this why it’s important to be filled with the holy ghost because many things will try to distract you or put you down and if you don’t have the holy ghost your won’t have that help or guide because Stephen had the holy ghost he had power GOD uesd Stephen to do miracles
I believe they were having Revival because
Jerusalem became larg as it say early in the chapter just like Jerusalem were are in revival and the devil knows that so it important to stay steadfast our GOD is in control

  6. Notice the qualifications for those who would serve tables amongst the brethren. ‘Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.’ These qualifications may appear to be overstated today, and yet these servants would be asked to be full of the holy ghost and wisdom. They may have ‘only’ been serving tables, but their purpose in doing so we to address the murmuring of those who felt their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. They were going to need wisdom and a good report and in the midst of it all they were certainly going to need to be full of the holy ghost!

The Bible clearly declares that everything we do be done in his name. Any ministry we take on should be done in the fullness of the abilities that God has blessed us with. Those called to the pulpit ministry need to be given continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word, but every ministry in the church has an impact! Every ministry in the church can be blessed with those full of the holy ghost! Every one of us should be praying, every one of us should be reading our Bible, every one of us needs wisdom, every one of needs a good report within and without, every one of us has a purpose in the kingdom of God!

  7. 2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

God has appointed each and every one of us to do particular things in the church, he has given us gifts where we can fulfill our part and being part of the body of Christ. Not one part is more important than the other but each is vital to the whole. The Bible gives us many examples that we should learn where we are gifted and where we are taught ed2go where we are called to fulfill each purpose that God gives us. And that we would stay continually in prayer and studying of the word. We should constantly be improving ourselves and whatever Ministry God has called us to do to increase the fruit. The Parables of the talents are the example that God expects a return on his investment.

  8. Acts 6:2-7
    2) Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
    3) Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
    4) But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
    5) And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
    6) Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them.
    7) And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of thee priests were obedient to the faith.

God did not call Pastor or the Ministers to do everything in the church.
That is why there are different ministries in the church, so that we can “Get Involved” and help.
When this happens, the Word of God can increase and the disciples will multiply and the church will GrOw.

  9. Acts 6:8 (English Amp) Now Stephen, full of grace ( divine blessing and favor) and power ( strength and ability) worked great wonders and signs ( miracles) among people. Stephen, a man full of faith, a strong and welcome belief that Jesus is the Messiah. It’s doesn’t matter what people are saying we all need God no matter what in our lives. God gives us faith, passion , love, peace., blessings, healing, joy.He is signs, wonders, miracles. Without God we can’t do anything. I need him everyday.

  10. Acts Ch.

    A Place for Everyone
This is what assimilation is all about……….there is something for everyone to do in the Kingdom

    Psalms 84:10
For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Thank you Jesus for the opportunity of serving in what You have called us into. I pray for each member of the body to answer the call God has placed in their hearts.

  11. 2. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

    3. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

    4. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

    5. And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

    8. And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Stephen could have gotten disgruntled and decided that he was just as good as the other men, and that he wanted to be able to give himself continually to prayer and ministry of the Word instead of serving tables. However, he stayed humble and obedient and accepted his new role, and still did great wonders and miracles among the people.

It’s not about which job or position you have in the Kingdom, but how you approach it and the manner (attitude) in which you go about it.

  12. 6:15 and all that sat in the council, looking steadfastly on him his face as it had beef the face of an angel.
    ———
Esteban such an anointed man, devoted to God with such desire…. he really had given himself away to the The Lord, and he sure was used.
    ——
The Bible says that the Lord has annointed us , that he has chosen us to preach the gospel….. people is going to speak, people is even going to plan, to plot, against us because of the gospel… but the Bible also says that no weapon formed against us shall proper….. Steven died because of the gospel, but at the same time, throughout his walk with the Lord , the saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
I pray that any witness would see that in me.( pure, holy, full of life and power, annointed, ready to respond , ready to pray…. ready to face……

  13. “At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel’s.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭6:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We are children of the light and no darkness should be in us. We must be Christ like in all that we say and do.

“Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John the brother of James, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. And His appearance changed dramatically in their presence; and His face shone [with heavenly glory, clear and bright] like the sun, and His clothing became as white as light.”
    ‭‭MATTHEW‬ ‭17:1-2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“Then THE RIGHTEOUS [those who seek the will of God] WILL SHINE FORTH [radiating the new life] LIKE THE SUN in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears [to hear], let him hear and heed My words.”
    ‭‭MATTHEW‬ ‭13:43‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  14. 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:

6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.

7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

  15. Stphen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed amazing miracles
and sings among the people. But one day some men from the synagogue
of freed slaves, as it was called, started to debate with him….
    Acts 6:8,9 NLT

Jealousy and envy always shows when God’s favor is upon us.

  16. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
    Acts 6:7‭, ‬15 KJV
FAITH, UNITY, and LOVE allows GOD to work in miraculous way!! No matter what comes our way.
    We WIN!

  17. 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the
    people.

15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

  18. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in FORT WORTH greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

And POFW, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

God has placed us here for such a time as this. Lord help me to continue to decrease so You can be increased and so Your word can increase not only in myself but in this region

  19. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.
    Acts 6:10 KJV

This is what all Christians should long for when we are testifying or teaching anywhere we go.

And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

    An Appointment to Work
    (2) Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
    (3) Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may “appoint” over this business.

Let’s break this down into 21 century understanding in which we can all understand.
First, the Apostles were the leaders of the church at the time of this situation. So, according to the scriptures, we have 12 men who called a “director’s meeting”…or you might say, a “disciples meeting”. They clearly defined the role of the overseer in this passage of this scripture. What is their role? Did they say it was their job to mow the grass? How about cleaning the bathrooms? How about organizing the next milk and bread outreach? How about pulling weeds out of the church flowerbed? How about making sure the widows were fed? How about running around like a chicken with their heads cut off trying to make the people happy?

The 12 Apostles were very clear in explaining and defining their role in the early church. It is simple; Verse #4 “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word…”

So, who is supposed to do all the fun stuff? Like pulling weeds, attend to the horses that bring folks to church, wash and dry the baptism robes and towels, organize the activities of the church, did I mention pull weeds, and oh yeah; minister food to the widows… Who does all that? How about the folks that are “disciples”…Yep. I guess the question now becomes, “Who are disciples in the 21st century?” The answer is, everyone of us who are not the Pastor.

Once we learn our role in the church and embrace that role the Lord will really begin to start using us. Stephen was chosen and appointed to “serve tables”. Stephen was a man of faith and he was used in the gift of miracles. Stephen was a preacher…did I mention that Stephen served tables?

Philip was an evangelist. Philip was used in the gifts of miracles. Philip brought revival to the whole city of Samaria. Philip baptized the Ethiopian Eunuch and then God transported him to another location in a split second, but guess what…Philip was chosen and appointed to serve the widows.

We must never forget our place in the Kingdom. Our place is to serve if we are true disciples. Philip, Stephen, and the other 5 men did not mentioned in these verses did not choose to serve widows, they appeared pretty busy already. They were appointed to serve the widows. As they served the Lord blessed them and Stephen even received a first class ticket to see Jesus. Wow, come on young ministers let’s serve the Lord with gladness!

  21. 10 None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.

No one can stand against the Lord! His wisdom and spirit!
God has no opposite! He is the One, there is no one greater or equal to Him.

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

  22. The people were instructed to find men that were full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom. Yet the apostates still had to lay hands on them and anoint them. As well endeavor to lead the people of this region in the ways of truth we must understand that having the Holy Ghost and lacking wisdom is often dangerous. A lack of wisdom can often result in lives being hurt. Then even after we gain wisdom we still need to maintain our selves in Christ and keep our lamps trimmed and burning with oil or the anointing. The goal is to lead the people that you have influence in that are in the church and those that you are trying to bring into the body of Christ and the only way you can do that is by maintaining and multiplying the principles of God in your life and in the lives of those around you.

    1 Peter 5-8
    5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
    6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Apostils knew that they were at a pivotal point in the church and they needed to multiply themselves in order to fulfill the plan of God.

  23. 7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

When we’re all obedient to the call of God, it allows His word to grow and increase, and spread across the land. I will be what You’ve called me to be Lord!

  24. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

The church today needs it’s members to labor in it, doing the many jobs that it takes to make sure things run smoothly so our Pastor can concentrate on prayer and ministering the word. It takes each of us, using our talents and abilities.

  25. 2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

As the church grows so will the needs of the church, and we cannot expect our pastor to do everything nor should he feel like he has to. Each and every one of us has a part in the Kingdom of God, all we must do is determine our God-given abilities and put them into action in His Kingdom and offer them to the service of others. These responsibilities are not to be taken lightly, we can see in verse 3 that the requirements were to be full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom!
So go today in wisdom and full of the Holy Ghost and exercise your God-given gifts!

  26. THY KINGDOM COME
    FALSE ACCUSATIONS

12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,
13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

The Kingdom of GOD demonstrated through the growth of the church created tensions of jealousy and resentment generated false accusations. These accusations and their accusers were easily influenced by the pressure of the elders and scribes.

We must examine the FACTS before we join the party of accusations. Consider the accusers and their source.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Accusations are of the devil. They are from an evil spirit with evil influence. For this reason we should shun, ignore and all thoughts and plots of accusation.

  27. 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

We must find our place in the Kingdom of God and get to work. There’s is never a dull moment, and always something to be attended too. We must use our strengths to strengthen the word of the Kingdom.

If everyone will do their part, the word of the Kingdom will be accomplished in a more effective manner, and no one will feel overwhelmed.

  28. 2So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program.

And they got wise. Everyone has a specific job to do in the Kingdom. Everyone does their part. Not one person call run it all. We just all have to be in agreement, so every operation in the Kingdom will run smoothly.

  29. As we continue to read Acts. What keeps popping at me is that, it’s all about serving one another. How we serve God, our church and even our communities. I work at a bank that is very community driven and people know that I am a FIRM believer in Jesus. I have client come in and as they do their transactions they ask me to pray for them about a situation in their life.
We have to go out and beyond the four corners of the church, and reach out to the lost world around us. As we are just a few days away from Pentecost. We must remember the reason why it is so important. Because His Spirit was poured out on all flesh.

    THY Kingdom Come

  30. 2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Nothing should make us leave the Word of God, Church, or God. We have to see what is worth more to us and in who/what we trust more? Do we trust in money more than God who is our provider, do we trust in our own knowledge or the Word of God. The only one we can trust is God!!! He is the only one that can comfort us and give us everything we have!!! He is our everything! In you I will trust always Lord!!

  31. So God’s message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too.(Acts of the Apostles 6:7 NLT)

The word of God was so powerful that it was continuously spread like wildfire. There nothing in this world that can stop the move of God. Even the Jewish priest were converted.

  32. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

If we resist the enemy he shall flee, but when the gospel was spoken it was undeniable that the Holy Ghost was on the move. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God. Some may have been outraged by the truth and lashed out but those who receive it gladly will be forever changed.

  33. 10 None of them could stand against the wisdom and the Spirit with which Stephen spoke.

Our God is greater and his word is forever settled in heaven. God sprit that lives in us gives us power to overcome anything that comes our way

  34. 12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,
13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:
14 For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

They could not even bring true witnesses against him, they had to bring false witnesses. It is important to stay true to God, to stay true to His Word no matter what happens, no matter what people may say. Just because people may persecute and mock does not necessarily mean that what they are saying is true. God is worth more then it all! Praise the Lord for He is great!

  35. “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Look what the Disciples said, “give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word.”

When I read this my first thought was this.
    Ministry means to serve
    The Word is the Lord.

These guys are continually praying and serving the Lord!
They’re not sometimes praying and sometimes serving the Lord
They’re not serving the Lord on just Tuesday or Friday or Wednesday or Just Sunday but everyday they’re serving.

So if I wanna be a disciple must take this root word and place it in discipline and make myself PRAY everyday and SERVE the LORD every day.
Amen. Let’s serve the Lord and pray everyday.

  36. Once lighting struck my tree and it started a fire. My mom woke up and said if we don’t call the Arlington Fire Department it will spread. Think of that in a spiritual Form. We need to be Struck By the Holy Ghost so it will Start a Fire . That will Spread . There’s no Fire Department in the world that can put out Holy Ghost Fire. People may falsely accuse us but we got to be prepared for this revival.

  37. Josiah: 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
Stephan was faithful and full of power and available so God was able to use him. A little bit of faith can go a long way. When certain people rose up in the synagogue the Bible says “10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.” They even went as far as to get people to lie about Stephan and get the people stirred up. People will try many things to stop our ministry even if they lie. However, let us GO BOLDLY against opposition to the Word of the Lord!

  38. Acts6:1-5
1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business

  39. 4 But we will [continue to] devote ourselves [steadfastly] to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
Ministry-service, ministering, esp. of those who execute the commands of others.
The apostles priority was not to serve tables but to serve the Word to all God’s people and to serve God through continual prayer.

  40. 11 Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.

12 And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

13 And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law:

False witness… Every time an individual takes a step in doing something for the Kigdom of God seems that the immediate attack from the enemy is to raise false witness. We should know that if we are being accused of lies then we must be doing something which the enemy does not like.

  41. The Word of God will always Prosper!

Acts6:1-4 During this time, as the disciples were increasing in numbers by leaps and bounds, hard feelings developed among the Greek- speaking Believers -” Hellenists” toward the Hebrew -speaking believers because their widows were being discriminated against in the daily food lines. So the Twelve called meeting of the disciples. They said, “it wouldn’t be right for us to abandon our responsibilities for preaching and teaching the word of God to help with the care of the poor. So, friends, choose seven men from among you whom everyone trusts, men full of the Holy Spirit and good sense, and we’ll assign them this task. Meanwhile, we’ll stick to our assigned tasks of prayer and speaking God’s Word.”

  42. 15 And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.

    GOD IS SOOO FAITHFUL!!!

  43. Acts 6:10
But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.

This is why we don’t allow anyone, that is not full of the HG behind the pulpit! The impartation of the Word of God is only safe in mouth of a vessel full of the HG!

  44. And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

Hitherto the disciples had been of one accord; this often had been noticed to their honour; but now they were multiplied, they began to murmur. The word of God was enough to take up all the thoughts, cares, and time of the apostles. The persons chosen to serve tables must be duly qualified. They must be filled with gifts and graces of the Holy Ghost, necessary to rightly managing this trust; men of truth, and hating covetousness. All who are employed in the service of the church, ought to be commended to the Divine grace by the prayers of the church. They blessed them in the name of the Lord. The word and grace of God are greatly magnified, when those are wrought upon by it, who were least likely.

  45. 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

One thing that can stop God from performing miracles among His people is doubt. If we have faith and trust in Him, there is nothing God won’t do that’ll blow your mind.

  46. “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭6:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These are things that can not be neglected. Later in the verses it says there is revival. The revival is in direct connection to the prayer and study of the word. This must be why the scripture itself tell us to study. This must also by why the scripture itself tells us to pray without ceasing.

  47. 7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.

Harvest is here, people are hungry for the word of God, we have seen miracles
I can see the multitude of people coming to hear the word, people getting baptize by numbers. The time is NOW!

  48. But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.

When tbere is growth in church you can be assured that there is going to be discontent. Why? Simple because we are humans and we have opinions and feelings. It is our job to be ready to serve as best as we can not everybody can be a pastor, teacher, preacher….. But everybody can do something to serve. We just have to be willing to forget about ourselves and our needs and focus on the needs of others. We must be selfless.
