Micah 2

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.

In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.

Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the Lord.

Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.

O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lordstraitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.

The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.

10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.

  1. “Don’t say such things,” the people respond. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disasters will never come our way!” Should you talk that way, O family of Israel? Will the Lord ’s Spirit have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting. Suppose a prophet full of lies would say to you, “I’ll preach to you the joys of wine and alcohol!” That’s just the kind of prophet you would like!
    Micah 2:6‭-‬7‭, ‬11 NLT

These verses remind me of Pastor’s teaching last night. The flesh doesn’t want to hear the truth. It doesn’t want to hear about judgment, about submission, about righteous living, or self-control. The flesh wants validation for sin. It wants preaching that tickles the ear and soothes the conscience. The flesh wants to grumble and complain, but “Will the Lord ’s Spirit have patience with such behavior?” The answer, we learned last night, is a definite “No!”

If our flesh tried to buck against or make excuse not to obey anything that was taught, then we have some work to do in our spirits. Any area where we had trouble saying “Amen” is an area that we need to pray about until self-will is crucified with Christ. For the Lord spoke through Micah, “If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting.”

That was good teaching, Pastor. We appreciate you telling us the truth!

  2. Don’t let money be your downfall . This reminds me of some companies today. Hurting the regulars and living off it . For God will judge them. They should also beware of false phohects that fill their heads with lies God will judge and restore when he knows they are ready .

  3. 1 Woe to those who devise iniquity, and work out evil on their beds! At morning light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. They covet fields and take them by violence. Also houses, and seize them, so they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance. Therefore thus says the Lord, Behold, against this family I am devising disaster. From which you cannot remove your necks. Nor shall you walk haughtily, for this is an evil time.

  4. 6 Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lordstraitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

It’s hard to live for Jesus easy BUT it’s easy to live for Him when your all in. God has one option with him, you live for Him all the way, it not at all. We must live with Christ in is full of abandoned thought of our old ways. To reach to be closer with him everyday. God has two things for everyone to do, get people closer to him and bring other with them. Go to heaven and bring as many people as you can. The Bible tells us that true religion is helping those that are afflicted and staying unspotted from the world (James 1’27)

  5. Micah 2:5-6 (English Amp) Therefore you shall have no one to cast a line by lot upon a plot [ of gronnd] in the assembly of Lord. [6] Do not preach; say the prophets; one should not babble and harp on such things; disgrace will not overtake us [ the revolving has no end.[Rev.21:27]. But nothing that defiled or profances or it, nor anyone who commits abominations (unclean detestable, morally repugnant things) or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Beware of false prophets trying to deceived you from hearing the truth of the Lord. Don’t believe everything you hear . Give your money to God first. First the Lord. Thank you Paster was teaching us the truth.

  6. “O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lord straitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we are doing what God commands then we have nothing to fear. Follow God with everything you have!

  7. Never say never!

“Don’t say such things,” the people respond. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disasters will never come our way!”
    Micah 2:6 NLT

Yes we serve a merciful GOD, a forgiving GOD, aand loving GOD.
But we do serve a GOD of justice. And many take grace as a license to sin, w/o taking into consideration the consequences of sin.
Time is short. I must die daily – living a life of obedience and consecration unto the LORD

. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    Romans 6:23 KJV

  8. 7 Should you talk that way, O family of Israel? Will the Lord’s Spirit have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting. (NLT)

“If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting.” So if we are uneasy, if something doesn’t feel right, then there’s a good chance something isn’t right in us. Lord help us to daily walk in Your Spirit and be Kingdom Minded!

  9. 6. Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.

    11. If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

    2 Timothy 4:
    2. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

    3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Just because a “prophet” says what you wanted to hear, that doesn’t make him right.

    1 John 4:
    1. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

  10. 1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.his heritage.
3 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.

  11. 11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people

False prophets for false people. We can go through life sinning and planning those sins ahead of time and expect to continue to be part of His people. If you go to church expecting sweet words and tickled ears; you’re doomed. Everything it’s fine as long as they let you live your life however you desire doing whatever you want; but woe to whom ever dare speak truth into your life. That’s no way to live life! The moment we act alike that we lose our advocate. 1st John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
Instead because of being wicked you will stand all by yourself before God.

God help us always stay in your truth and that your WORD that NEVER changes be always in our heart so that we may not sin against you. In Jesus Name Amen

  12. Micah 2:1-5 Doom to those who plot evil, who go to bed dreaming of crimes! As soon as it’s morning. They’re off, full of energy, doing what they’ve planned. They covet fields and grab them, find homes and take them. They bully the neighbor and his family, see people only for what they can get out of them. God has had enough, He says, “I have some plans of my own: Disaster because of this interbreeding evil !
Micah 2:10 Get out of here, the lot of you. You can’t take it easy here! You’ve polluted this place, and now your polluted- ruined!

Leviticus 18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

  13. Micah 2:8-10
8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.
9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.
10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

  14. Without Gods judgement there would be no Hope. These people are getting confronted with nothing to say back. Micah telling them straight up if the live right their blessings are right in front of them. This is another great example of idolatry and how people are blinded by wealth to be fleshly satisfied rather than eternally and spiritually safe/saved.

Discipline Pastor said say NO to something today it can be anything at all. This is a form of fasting

iBless you in the name of Jesus Christ

  15. Are we leading?

12-13 I’m calling a meeting, Jacob. I want everyone back—all the survivors of Israel. I’ll get them together in one place— like sheep in a fold, like cattle in a corral— a milling throng of homebound people! Then I, God, will burst all confinements and lead them out into the open. They’ll follow their King. I will be out in front leading them. MSG

Those who are in a leadership position have heard and understand what leadership is. If there is no one following us, who are we leading? We must be willing to invest our time, talent and treasure into those who we are attempting to lead. Every person has value. Some people do not believe they have any value, a responsible leader will help this person discover their worth and lead them in developing their potential.

As a leader, we cannot become too proud and better than everyone else because of our title. Who better to pattern our leadership from than Jesus? He washed the feet of his followers. Are we humble enough to take the position of servant to those we leading? We understand that Jesus was not just physically washing their feet; rather, He washing their soul.

  16. 11 Suppose a prophet full of lies would say to you, “I’ll preach to you the joys of wine and alcohol!” That’s just the kind of prophet you would like!

False prophets will say anything just to convince they are real. Some preachers will do they same also to keep the congregation happy. People don’t want someone telling them the truth, stepping on their toes. Its better to know the truth and be saved than to be lost by hearing lies.

  17. iLove the Kingdom
1Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

Wow…oh my look at that… The prophet was talking to the 21st Century. While I understand the context of the verse, we could apply it to the world we live in today. The scrolling addiction of the age we live in has made it even easier to fulfill this prophecy. “The power is in their hand”… Wow, is this not talking to our generation or not?

Stay away from iniquity and learn to scroll from the BOOK instead of Facebook. Boom!

  18. Micah 2
“What do you mean, ‘good people’!
You’re the enemy of my people!
    You rob unsuspecting people
    out for an evening stroll.
You take their coats off their backs
like soldiers who plunder the defenseless.
You drive the women of my people
    out of their ample homes.
You make victims of the children
and leave them vulnerable to violence and vice.
Get out of here, the lot of you.
You can’t take it easy here!
    You’ve polluted this place,
    and now you’re polluted—ruined!
If someone showed up with a good smile and glib tongue
and told lies from morning to night—
‘I’ll preach sermons that will tell you
how you can get anything you want from God:
More money, the best wines . . . you name it’—
you’d hire him on the spot as your preacher!

Watch out for those who rob from you spiritually. They find fault in every word spoken. They lurk in the shadows of deceit and will do their best to destroy your walk with God. There are webs weaves and sometimes unaware you walk right into them. Guard your hearts and mind from deceiving words. Guard your eyes from that which appears real. There are genuine imitations a diamond that will sparkle in the light . But where is it shine in the dark? Men live darkness rather than light. A true diamond will still glimmer in the midst of darkness. If we are truly wanting to be about the kings then we must uphold a high standard of living. Be careful not to entertain the deceptive words that tear down.
It is time to take a stand know the word guard our spiritual babies keep them close check on them daily so that they will not be deceived by the evil one. We are our brothers keeper . In Jesus name!

  19. In the NIV, this chapter is broken down into three captions “Human Plans and God’s Plans”. We can plan all day long about this or that; but, do our plans align with God’s plans?????………..that is the question. If we are seeking “Thy Kingdom”, then they should.

The second caption says “False Prophets”…….we heard about this just last night from Pastor. We must heed the warnings and be careful what goes in our ears, to our minds and in our soul.

The third caption “Deliverance Promised”. In the CEV it reads “A Promise of Hope” as verses 12-13 says “I, the Lord, promise to bring together the people of Israel who have survived. I will gather them, just as a shepherd brings sheep together, and there will be many. I will break down the gate and lead them out—then I will be their king.”

  20. Woe (judgment is coming) to those who devise wickedness And plot evil on their beds! When morning comes, they practice evil Because it is in the power of their hands.
    MICAH 2:1 AMP

That’s a lot of wasting time I rather be sleeping then planning evil against somebody at least I’ll get a good rest and not a headache.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  21. 2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Each man had his portion of land for his heritage, passed down for generations. God had law in place to restore a man’s land to him if he fell on hard times and lost it-the year of Jubilee would restore it. Looking at these men who stole a man’s lands through this light, we can see how evil it is…and especially to steal a woman’s home who may have lost her husband or sons, but has a home to call her own. She would be homeless, and the Hebrew people had a type of a welfare in place, so that the woman could gather or glean from a prosperous mans’ fields so she wouldn’t go hungry. To covet someone else’s things and plan to steal them takes thought, planning and work….why not put that thought, planning and work into an honest living? Be right with God and man.

  22. 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

This is not our home, we are just passing through!!! Make sure not to get to comfortable. This flesh will try it’s best to keep us comfortable!!! To crucify the flesh is to keep us in the “soujener status”.

  23. 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. KJV

God’s design was for this land to be a place of rest. As they evicted the women from their houses, God would evict His people from their land. “Arise ye, and depart;” He declared, “for this is not your rest.” They caused their own blessings to be taken away from them. They caused retribution to come upon their own heads. There will be no rest for the wicked.

  24. 2:13 the breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the hand of them.

  25. Should you talk thay way, o family of Israel?
Will the LORD’S Spirit have patience with such
behavior? If you would do what is right you
    would find my words comforting.
    Micah 2:7 NLT

The benefit of walking in obedience and doing what is right, is the confidence that no matter what comes your way, you got the reassurance that God is in control. Why we make such a drama when adversity comes to our lives? because many times deep in ourselves know that we deserve to be corrected. But in an attend to justify our Behavior and actions we play the victim.

  26. MSG – 12-13 “I’m calling a meeting, Jacob.
I want everyone back—all the survivors of Israel.
I’ll get them together in one place—
like sheep in a fold, like cattle in a corral—
a milling throng of homebound people!
Then I, God, will burst all confinements
and lead them out into the open.
    They’ll follow their King.
I will be out in front leading them.”

This chapter reminds me of preachers that are hirelings. They will preach whatever they think people want to hear, but ultimately the people are on a path to destruction. They have itching ears that want them to be tickled so they feel good about themselves and the sin they are living in.

We must hunger for the real word. We must be lead by the Word of God and the man of God so that we don’t follow a path of deception. Everyone wants the easy road, but the easy road is not the path God has chosen for us.

    Matthew 7:14
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

We must search for the ways of God with all our heart, and then follow the path regardless of where it takes us, so that we reach our ultimate goal – Heaven for eternity.

  27. “Suppose a prophet full of lies would say to you, “I’ll preach to you the joys of wine and alcohol!” That’s just the kind of prophet you would like!”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The people liked the false prophets then for the same reason people do now, they tell them what they want to hear. They’ll make you feel comfortable in your sin, but what a dangerous place to be.
Preachers are popular when they don’t ask too much of us, that’s why we can have all these tv preachers and people flock by the hundreds to see them. They’ll please your flesh.
But a true man or woman of God will speak truth regardless if it’s what you want to hear or not, because they know your salvation matters and pleasing your flesh does not.
I’m thankful for the man of God and the leaders that speak truth into my life!

  28. “Don’t say such things,” the people respond. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disasters will never come our way!” Should you talk that way, O family of Israel? Will the Lord ’s Spirit have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting. Yet to this very hour my people rise against me like an enemy! You steal the shirts right off the backs of those who trusted you, making them as ragged as men returning from battle. You have evicted women from their pleasant homes and forever stripped their children of all that God would give them. Up! Begone! This is no longer your land and home, for you have filled it with sin and ruined it completely. Suppose a prophet full of lies would say to you, “I’ll preach to you the joys of wine and alcohol!” That’s just the kind of prophet you would like!
    Micah 2:6‭-‬11 NLT
This verse go with what pastor teach about yes the Flesh want what it wants some people will do anything to get what they want the don’t want to get out of their comfort zone I ‘ve notice many Prophets they tell want you want hear here the problem you’re telling you lies they tell I can make you happy. But all there doing is telling you lies or here my favorite quote God loves you just the way you are and yes GOD loves us and he died for us . But if you continue reading it say so that me might be saved
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
    2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV

  29. Micah 2:11 (MSG)
“If someone showed up with a good smile and glib (fluent and voluble, but insincere and shallow; slick; smooth-talker) tongue and told lies from morning to night – I’ll preach sermons that will tell you how you can get anything you want from God: More money, the best wines . . . you name it – you’d hire him on the spot as your preacher!”

This scripture made me think of 2 Timothy 4:3-4, “3) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

It says “For the time will come,” and we know that the time is here, today, that people no longer want to hear the truth of God’s word. They want to hear things that make them feel good. They want to hear that it’s okay to live the way they are living and still be saved.
BUT Thank You JESUS for Our Pastor and for Ministers that tell the Truth and Preach Your Word Correctly. (For God’s Word is profitable for Doctrine, for Reproof, for Correction, for Instruction in Righteousness).

  30. THY KINGDOM COME
    BREAKTHROUGH

13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.

When there is strong resistance or a stronghold evident, it is our advantage to “BREAK the ICE” or “get it started” to “make a breach of truce” “extend an olive branch”.

The KING of Glory recognizes this advantage and has declared that HE will be our BREAKER.

BREAKER – 6555. parats, paw-rats´; a primitive root; to break out (in many applications, direct and indirect, literal and figurative):—x abroad, (make a) breach, break (away, down, -er, forth, in, up), burst out, come (spread) abroad, compel, disperse, grow, increase, open, press, scatter, urge.

The BREAKER (JESUS) has come up before us to to clear a path to holiness and righteous living, that we may follow after the LORD. Here we find another privilege in serving in the Kingdom of GOD. JESUS broke through death, hell and the grave to establish HIS Kingdom here on earth. We are BORN AGAIN into HIS Kingdom and thus it behooves us to seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD. When we follow JESUS by walking in the Spirit we all the BREAKER to come up before us.

It is wise to be patient and wait on the LORD. We are foolish to move before the LORD moves. We learn this principal from the LORD through the children of Israel in the wilderness. The only moved when the FIRE and cloud moved:

Exodus 13:21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:
22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

So should we be as we walk in the SPIRIT. Seeking FIRST The Kingdom of GOD and Praying Kingdom Prayers that we may walk in Kingdom Authority.

The AMP version of verse 13 lends clarity to the original KJV text.

    13 “The [a]breaker [the Messiah, who opens the way] shall go up before them [liberating them]. They will break out, pass through the gate and go out;
So their King goes on before them, The Lord at their head.” AMP

Choices are made every day and our choices define us. Let be prayerful to follow the LORD JESUS and serve HIS Kingdom Purpose of sharing HIS Gospel.

    • Your leader will break out and lead you out of exile, out through the gates of the enemy cities, back to your own land. Your king will lead you; the Lord himself will guide you.”
      Micah 2:13 NLT

Good stuff, Pastor! Our God can break us out of anything the enemy has bound us with: addiction, depression, anxiety, fear, timidity, hopelessness, etc. Who can stand before our great God! Those whom the Son has set free are free indeed!

  31. [Mic 2:6-7 NLT] 6 “Don’t say such things,” the people respond. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disasters will never come our way!” 7 Should you talk that way, O family of Israel? Will the LORD’s Spirit have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting.
We should find comfort in God’s Words even if it is a Word of judgment, even if it hurts. Truth hurts sometimes, like Pastor’s reference to sandpaper. If we accept it and not reject it, the Word will smooth out our rough edges and make us more like Jesus. [Heb 12:6-7 KJV] 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? Let’s be sons who receive the loving correction from our Heavenly Father!

  32. Your leader will break out and lead you out of exile, out through the gates of the enemy cities, back to your own land. Your king will lead you; the Lord himself will guide you.”
    Micah 2:13 NLT

Spirit break out! Tear our walls down. We know You alone are mighty to save. We can be in a spiritual exile and still be in church. We can go through the motions but be so far from our love and relationship with You. But You can come crashing in and guide us out and back into a deepened love with You. Jesus You alone are able.

  33. Josiah: 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.
What God meant for a rest a blessing turned into their curse. By their actions, their blessing was polluted. God sets many things in our life and what he means to be a blessing can curse you. The calling of the Lord, when not pursued and done, will just hurt in Judgement day. So, let us GO GET what the Lord has placed in our life!

  34. 12 I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men.

13 The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.

  35. 10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

  36. Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.

7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lordstraitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

8 Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.

9 The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever.

10 Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.

11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

Since they say, “Prophesy not,” God will take them at their word, and their sin shall be their punishment. Let the physician no longer attend the patient that will not be healed. Those are enemies, not only to God, but to their country, who silence good ministers, and stop the means of grace. What bonds will hold those who have no reverence for God’s word? Sinners cannot expect to rest in a land they have polluted. You shall not only be obliged to depart out of this land, but it shall destroy you. Apply this to our state in this present world. There is corruption in the world through lust, and we should keep at a distance from it. It is not our rest: it was designed for our passage, but not for our portion; our inn, but not our home; here we have no continuing city; let us therefore arise and depart, let us seek a continuing city above. Since they will be deceived, let them be deceived. Teachers who recommend self-indulgence by their doctrine and example, best suit such sinners.

  37. 6 Prophesy ye not, say they to them that prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, that they shall not take shame.
7 O thou that art named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the Lordstraitened? are these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

For those who are striving to walk up right and give themselves to the Lord the words and prophecy of God is a beautiful thing. To those who are evil God’s words are a fearful thing. Which side are you on?

  38. 1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

2 And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

I know when I’m in bed, my mind can wander to many places. We could be thinking about the day, we could planning tomorrow. If you let your flesh take over, you could be plotting something evil for tomorrow. Don’t let your flesh do the thinking for you, it’s just a a bunch of nerves! Let your thoughts and eyes be on the Lord. Think about the good things Jesus has done and will do in your life, think about the good things.

2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

  39. 11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

We are living in a time and day where people would rather hear what makes them feel good rather than what is truth and it doesn’t feel good and it often cuts us deep. God I pray each and each and everyday you will give us a love for truth and your word. That we will stay sentive to you and that you will preform spritual open heart surgery. The word of God says the heart is deperately wicked and who can know it. I want to be told the truth dont care how much it may hurt.

  40. 13The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the Lord on the head of them.

  41. 1 Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

The power of obedience is in our hands…

  42. 2 Woe to those who plan iniquity,
to those who plot evil on their beds!
At morning’s light they carry it out
because it is in their power to do it.
2 They covet fields and seize them,
    and houses, and take them.
They defraud people of their homes,
they rob them of their inheritance.

God will take care of evil. We must make sure we are not participating in things that would cause us to be placed in a bad position with God. The Word of God tells us to resist the devil., flee the appearance of evil, and not to partake in unrighteousness. This is a warning for all and all must heed.

  43. 6“Do not preach,” they preach. “Do not preach these things; disgrace will not overtake us.”

The fear of God is no longer in the children of Israel. They are more concerned about trying to reject the true prophecy of God with soothsayees lies. It’s easy to become content in what we are used to that we don’t care to strive for change even when the change is coming. Judgment is literally coming and they shrug it like nothing. It’s a dangerous thing to be so far away from God that to correct us it takes devastating measures. I would rather be hurt and convicted by the truth than be context and die lost.

  44. WOW!!! Powerful rebuke by God.

11 If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, saying, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people.

We must always be alert who brings word to us. If the word or prophecy is not by my Pastor or a person who Pastor trust. We must not even hear it or receive it.

Let us be careful who we aloud to minister to us if is not coming from the man of God in our lives.

  45. Your leader will break out and lead you out of exile, out through the gates of the enemy cities, back to your own land. Your king will lead you; the Lord himself will guide you.”
    Micah 2:13 NLT

  46. This passage is spoken to those in a backslidden Israel, but is gives a good cry to any who would become too comfortable in the world in which we must live. ‘Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.’ The world is not our friend. It’s pressures surround us and would have us be at peace amongst them, but it is polluted and it will destroy you. Remember Lot’s wife.

Herdsman and flocks so great in number that they couldn’t be contained in the same fields as Abraham, but he cast his eyes towards the well watered plains is Sodom. Somewhere along the way he went from dwelling near them to living comfortably among them… and what about his family and his herdsman? If he had just saved his household, he could have spared a city… but he was drawn away of his own lusts and lost everything he had. The world will destroy you with sore destruction. Arise and depart! Serve the Lord with all our heart, all our mind, all our will, with all our strength!
