Micah 6

Hear ye now what the Lord saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.

Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord‘s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the Lord.

Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?

Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

The Lord‘s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?

11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

12 For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

13 Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.

14 Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.

15 Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.

16 For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.

  1. What should I bring before the Lord when I come to bow before God on high? Should I come before Him with burnt offerings, with year-old calves? Would the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousand streams of oil? Should I give my firstborn for my transgression, the child of my body for my own sin? Mankind, HE HAS TOLD YOU what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.
    Micah 6:6‭-‬8 HCSB

Why is it that we are always looking for ways to please God other than what he has already asked us to do? Perhaps, it is because it is so much easier on the flesh to bring an offering than to make a change of heart, easier to sacrifice a calf than to love the unloveable or to humble oneself and submit to leadership. It is easier to give in the missions offering than to become a missionary to your neighbor, easier to follow the letter of the law than to submit to the spirit behind it. It is easier to acquiesce to rules than to surrender the heart.

Saul thought he could excuse his rebellion by throwing sacrifices on the altar, and Micah seems to be describing a people who are asking how much it will cost them to gain God’s favor. However, Samuel tells Saul, “Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord?” (1 Samuel 15:22 KJV), and Micah tells the people that God has already told them what He wants from them: act justly (out of a pure heart), faithfully love, and humbly submit.

I think maybe we resist the voice of the Lord because He has this way of asking for what is really sitting on the throne of our hearts. When He does, we often act as if we can distract Him and keep our idols by giving Him less costly sacrifices. Consider the rich young ruler in Mark 10. The Bible says that he ran up to the Lord and kneeled at His feet. He appears sincere as he asks what it is he needs to do to inherit eternal life. He feels pretty confident that he has dotted his i’s and crossed his t’s. He’s kept the commands and followed the letter of the law, but when God goes beyond the letter and addresses the prevailing issue in his heart, his wealth, he gets up from Jesus’ feet and walks away.

We can’t pretend like we haven’t done the same thing: kneeled at the altar intending to give all, and then walking away and acting as if we didn’t hear or understand what He had to say. Then we get impatient, aggravated, or disillusioned when God doesn’t come to our rescue or lead us out of trouble (after all we’ve done or given), but neglect to consider that God cannot give us more direction until we obey what He has already told us.

We heard the voice of the Lord yesterday and last night. No amount of church attendance or sacrificial offerings is going to buy our way out of what He has called us to do. We must let go of the fear, the apathy, the slothfulness, and the self-centeredness that keeps us silent and go be a neighbor to the lost and hurting around us. We must lay down our objectives and excuses so we can become one with His burden and mission. We’ve heard His voice. Do we get up and walk away? Or do we surrender our hearts and answer His call?

  2. Verses 8-9 MSG “But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously. Attention! God calls out to the city! If you know what’s good for you, you’ll listen. So listen, all of you! This is serious business.” There is no time to play church…we must heed the warning and get serious about following Jesus. We cannot buy our way in, we cannot sacrifice our way in or even good deed our way in; but, rather submit our will and align ourselves with God’s will for our lives. Thy Kingdom…..JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.

  3. He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you Except to be just, and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion), And to walk humbly with your God [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?
    MICAH 6:8 AMP
    1. Be fair to people
    2. Love people (including yourself)
    3. Be humble!!!!!!!!!

  4. “O my people, what have I done to you? What have I done to make you tired of me? Answer me! For I brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from slavery. I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam to help you. Don’t you remember, my people, how King Balak of Moab tried to have you cursed and how Balaam son of Beor blessed you instead? And remember your journey from Acacia Grove to Gilgal, when I, the Lord , did everything I could to teach you about my faithfulness.” What can we bring to the Lord ? Should we bring him burnt offerings? Should we bow before God Most High with offerings of yearling calves? No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
    Micah 6:3‭-‬6‭, ‬8 NLT
This bring me back to the book of Exodus how GOD continue to do for Israel but they still won’t listing the continue sin here in today chapter you see GOD getting a little more deep about Israel sin because GOD grace and mercy we see many warning but here GOD decides end the sin we thank God for his mercy that when we failed we can get back up again and start new his mercy is new every morning

  5. 3 O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

No matter how angry God has gotten with his people, it comes down to how much he loves and pleads with them to explain why they would serve any other god. I can only imagine how God is pleading here trying to reason with them n anything he has done to protect them and bless them and how he is only punishing them because he has such a love to have them turn away from sin

  6. 8. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

If we love our neighbor as ourselves, we will deal justly with them and show them mercy, loving them and God with humility.
A lifestyle lived this way will cover all the commandments.

    Matthew 22:
    36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

    37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

    38. This is the first and great commandment.

    39. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

    40. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

  7. Micah 6
But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
    take God seriously.

Love thy Neighbor as Thy Self.
    Amen Pastor.

  8. MSG
8 But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
    take God seriously.

God has made it easy for us. He has given us His Word and the Holy Ghost to help us stay on the path He’s set before us yet “there is a war going on in our members” that if we are not careful and are not walking in the spirit we will be lead astray from what He is looking for. Verse 8 is clear on what God is wanting from His people. Yet, some decided to fight against God. Remember mans arms are too short to box against God. He is all powerful! We better check ourselves and see if we are on the winning side and if we are not, it’s times to change sides. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Our obedience must be coupled with serving or our serving will be out of duty and not relationship.

  9. It appears to me that the Lord is saying that the people have forgotten what he’s done for them, for example bringing them up out of Egypt. Nevertheless, the people have disregarded the blessings of the Lord and become deceitful. There for the Lord is saying he will judge those sins, and not allow them to reap the benefits of the fruits of their labor.

  10. Josiah: 11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
God is no respector of persons. Sin is sin. If someone does evil their whole life and never repents they are a sinner. However as we serve the Lord and do what God wants done we can be counted pure. What we do, our actions, matters. So, let us GO BE A LIGHT to this world SHOWING Jesus’s love!

  11. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

  12. “O my people, what have I done to you? What have I done to make you tired of me? Answer me!

No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.
    Micah 6:3‭, ‬8 NLT

God didn’t ask very much of them. Just to simply follow the commands that had been given to them. Every relationship has to have boundaries. Depending on the level of relations will determine where the boundaries are placed. God tells them how to honor and respect Him, themselves, and others in this relationship, they just flat out refuse and reject Him. Some love affair. For those that have gone through things like that God has been there too.

  13. 8 No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. (NLT)

Simple requirements, all we have to do is choose to obey them. God doesn’t want a quick routine of half-hearted sacrifice, where we just say, “Forgive me Lord,” and move on unchanged and still careless. God wants commitment and relationship; He wants us to continually and daily seek to please Him. Help me Lord to daily please You through these disciplines.

  14. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Don’t you love it when God makes it so simple!!!! This is what He requires of you: to do justice, love Mercy and walk humbly with Him. It’s that simple enough? A lot of people prefer to make it so complicated thinking if it’s not hard it’s not worth having. WAKE UP!! Jesus doesn’t want anyone to perish but that ALL MAY HAVE LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY!!! Lord Jesus Help us to do what you require of us ! In Jesus Name Amen

  15. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Don’t you love it when God makes it so simple!!!! This is what He requires of you: to do justice, love Mercy and walk humbly with Him. It’s that simple enough? Should we bring him burnt offerings? Should we bow before God Most High with offerings of yearling calves?”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭6:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Lord has a way of reminding you what you came from.
I keep seeing an ongoing pattern of “backsliding” then “save me”.
We gotta be in this 100 percent!
Look at this chapter in Job

“Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?

The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.

Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.”
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭41:1-5, 26, 33-34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Wilt thou play with him as with a bird?
You can’t play with leviathan he’s not your friend and you will never have him where you think you have him. The way you beat that guy is by saying No. sounds simple huh? Well keep on keeping on because when I feel like giving up I’m reminded by God where He brought me from and I was bound by chains of addiction and depression by leviathan. Jesus conquered all and saved me from going to the pits of Hell…

Don’t play with leviathan you’re either in or out.

  17. 6 Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?

7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

  18. Micah 6:8,9 MSG. But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,

9 Attention! God calls out to the city!
If you know what’s good for you, you’ll listen.
    So listen, all of you!
        This is serious business.

Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

  19. iLove the Kingdom
Wow, this chapter is amazing! Check out verse #6

6 Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God?

So, the Prophet is asking the question, how do we approach God and how do we please Him (see verse 7). He then proceeds to ask if it’s by sacrifice.
    *Burnt offerings?
    *Young calves?
    *Thousands of rams?
    *Rivers of oil?
    *Sacrifice child?

So, how do we approach God and how do we please Him? It’s found in verse #8.

8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
    *Do justly
    *Love mercy
    *Walk humbly

These three things are “required” by God to please Him.

  20. 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good, and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly wit your God.

  21. THY KINGDOM COME
    KING REQUIREMENTS

8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

What does the KING expect from HIS servants? We see the principal of the requirements here.

DO Justly – Do the RIGHT thing in the sight of GOD, which is everywhere. Always make the RIGHT-JUST decision. Doing the RIGHT thing – Righteousness is directly connected to Holiness.
1Thessalonians 2:10 Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:

LOVE Mercy – Mercy is a 2 way street in The Kingdom, we receive it from JESUS to share with others. Show MERCY at every possible opportunity.
Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

WALK HUMBLY – Humility is abases pride and pride is the root or origin of all sin. (Man disobeying JESUS) Humility is the key to advancement in The Kingdom of GOD.
Matthew 18:4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

As we daily seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD, I pray for us to remember these KINGDOM REQUIREMENTS to live by.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  22. 9 The Lord‘s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

Some points I want to expand on:
His VOICE crieth… the man of WISDOM shall SEE thy name, HEAR the rod

The wise SEE The Name of God; through VISION. They HEAR through RELATIONSHIP by KNOWING who He is!

As we live WISE, we can SEE the NAME of God through reading the scripture, and HEARING through praying in relationship with Him. Just as we know our earthly father’s voice, we should know our Heavenly Father’s voice.

  23. HEY you better wake up boy. Do remember the pit where he found you from. Do you remember the hell you were going through when you first came. You remember the things you over came to be set free!? We can’t lose or forget what we been through. Not to dwell on our past, not to want to love it over again. But to know how we over came.
““O My people, what have I done to you? And how have I wearied you? Testify against Me. For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, I redeemed you from the house of bondage; And I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
    Can’t forget.
    Thank you Jesus.

  24. MSG – 8 But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
    take God seriously.
9 Attention! God calls out to the city!
If you know what’s good for you, you’ll listen.
    So listen, all of you!
    This is serious business.
10-16 “Do you expect me to overlook obscene wealth
you’ve piled up by cheating and fraud?
Do you think I’ll tolerate shady deals
    and shifty scheming?
I’m tired of the violent rich
bullying their way with bluffs and lies.
I’m fed up. Beginning now, you’re finished.
You’ll pay for your sins down to your last cent.
No matter how much you get, it will never be enough—
    hollow stomachs, empty hearts.
No matter how hard you work, you’ll have nothing to show for it—
    bankrupt lives, wasted souls.
    You’ll plant grass
    but never get a lawn.
    You’ll make jelly
but never spread it on your bread.
    You’ll press apples
    but never drink the cider.
You have lived by the standards of your king, Omri,
the decadent lifestyle of the family of Ahab.
Because you’ve slavishly followed their fashions,
    I’m forcing you into bankruptcy.
Your way of life will be laughed at, a tasteless joke.
Your lives will be derided as futile and fake.”

Too many times we think putting our work/livelihood before the things of the Kingdom is God trying to bless us with more money. Sadly people try to fill the void in their lives of God with worldly things, that only last for a season.

God is plain in his desires – 8 But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do,
what God is looking for in men and women.
It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor,
be compassionate and loyal in your love,
And don’t take yourself too seriously—
    take God seriously.

if we will take living for God seriously, seeking first the kingdom of God and HIS righteousness —- all these things shall be added. We won’t have to put things before God, God will provide our daily needs through what we do because we have put Him first.

Otherwise, we will find the flip side of the blessings of God in the cursing of God because we put “idols” before Him.

  25. No O people, the LORD has told you what
Is good, and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk
    Humbly with your God.
    Micah 6:8 NLT

The question is very clear and simple:
Do what is right, love Mercy, and be humble.

Many times we find ourselves asking this question what is it that God wants me to do? Automatically our perception of this question goes to titles, and positions . The spirit of the Lord is being very clear Sunday morning and Sunday night of what is the main thing. To reach the Lost, how do we going to do it ? by being an example, demonstrating those principles on a daily basis.

  26. Micah 6:8, “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with they God?”

  27. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (6:14)
When God judges the land its productivity will be destroyed. What irony. The very thin that motivated the rich to do evil-wealth and plenty- will be lost because in their pursuit of it they oppressed others. The end never justifies the means .Evil means will actually keep a person from gaining his ends

  28. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
    Micah 6:8 KJV

  29. The simple things

8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

God requires of us very simple things. Really just do what is right . The world would have us thinking that it is a burden to live for God but really it is easy. When we deal justly with others, it is reciprocal.
When you make it a lifestyle of living justly it becomes your reputation. When you have a reputation of being a just people know what to expect from you and they dont have false pretenses. This will detour accusations and create a liberty in your life. Loving mercy is also reciprocal, the scripture says that those who show mercy shall obtain mercy. This lets us be human and those around us to be human as well. My Dad taught me along time ago that you don’t judge a mans character when everything is going right, rather watch how he handles his mistakes. Mercy is vital to our relationship with one another, if we cannot forgive, he will not forgive us. Humility will bring you a freedom that is unmatched. In the worlds eyes humility is weakness but in Gods eyes it is strength. Again a lesson from my Dad agreed with these principles, it takes a bigger man to walk away from a fight than to engage in one. This is not my strong suit but I can look back 7 years ago and realize that God has done a great work in this department in me. Humility is not something that comes natural to us, it is something that we have to continually keep at the forefront of our minds or we will miss it. Humility has to be preceded by a relationship of prayer with Jesus. He said that my thoughts are not his thoughts, my ways are not his ways. Humility is an example of this. Look at the cross, he opened not his mouth, exampling his ways. Where we will fight he will stand quietly. It doesn’t make since but when it becomes a lifestyle it brings liberty and freedoms that we cannot know without these things.

  30. 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Here a I am reminded that obedience is better than sacrifice. For in verse 7 it shows large and huge sacrifices, but could they cover the sin of the soul? Would God have accepted a life and lifestyle of sin with token sin offerings so they could continue that life of sin? No obedience is better. No matter how much you sacrifice just obeying his law, do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God. My I hide this word in my heart that I might not sin against him.

  31. The Lord’s controversy with his people could easily be spoken today… different provisions and deliverance of course, but the same goodness of a merciful God displayed. And just as in that day, perhaps even more so considering the greater revelation of the New Testament, his question is still so relevant: ‘Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?’

He has paid the ultimate sacrifice to provide for the atonement of our souls. There is nothing we can do to earn it for ourselves, no price that is acceptable for what he provides in return… and all he asks is still spoken in that simple declaration of the prophet. ‘He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?’ Oh that our actions would display a different response than theirs!

  32. 1 Hear ye now what the Lord saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.

2 Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord‘s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

3 O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

5 O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the Lord.

The people are called upon to declare why they were weary of God’s worship, and prone to idolatry. Sin causes the controversy between God and man. God reasons with us, to teach us to reason with ourselves. Let them remember God’s many favours to them and their fathers, and compare with them their unworthy, ungrateful conduct toward him.

  33. 5. Remember what Balak king of Moab tried to pull, and how Balaam son of Beor turned the tables on him. Remember all those stories about Shittim and Gilgal. Keep all God’s salvation stories fresh and present.” MSG

How easy it is to forget sometimes where God has brought us from. We can get so focused on the present that the past seems to drift away. While, we should not dwell on the past, it should be recalled from time to time to keep the story of our salvation fresh in our mind; lest we forget. Can we take a moment out of our busy schedule and focus on what we “know” that God has done for us? Now, imagine all the things He has done for us that we don’t even know about.

Our vehicle had a flat tire. “Be thankful in all things”. Thanks God; loving the flat tire. What we may not understand is this flat tire delayed our entrance to the freeway where a distracted driver might have run into our car.

  34. “But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what GOD is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This verse covers the last couple of messages. Get over yourself and treat you neighbor with love and compassion.
“So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:12-14‬ ‭MSG‬‬

  35. “What can we bring to the Lord? Should we bring him burnt offerings? Should we bow before God Most High with offerings of yearling calves? Should we offer him thousands of rams and ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Should we sacrifice our firstborn children to pay for our sins? No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭6:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When did we start deciding what sacrifices God will accept from us without first asking Him?

When we humbly walk with God it means complete surrenderance to whatever He asks of us, not to what we believe is “enough” to get by on.
We cannot buy His favor nor His mercy. But we can obey His word and do what is right and have His favor and mercy applied to us.

  36. Micah 6:8&9
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do
justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
9 The Lord‘s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

  37. What are you doing?

7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Do we really think that the Lord was happy when the children of Israel had to kill so many animals? When Jesus came to this earth, God showed us what we needed to do, an told us multiple times. Repent, be baptized in Jesus name, and receive the Holy Ghost. Yet it is hard for most people to believe that.
This is why it is our duty to tell this world about the Gospel of Jesus and what he did for your sins. For His Kingdom to grow it is our responsibility to tell others.

  38. 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

The reason why many people are wondering what the will of God is is because they haven’t prayed or read His Word!! It’s very easy to do His will when your in line with Him because of the HG you will know what is need of you to do. Like Bishop said Jesus came to seek and save the lost for we must do that also!! How can we say we are Christians if we don’t do what Jesus did!!! Lord help me to always do your will!!! Now and forever God!!! In Jesus Name!

  39. 8 No, O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Its easy to do God’s will, just do what is right. Everyone knows good from evil. If your heart is right with the Lord, all things come easy. Yes we will have times of trials and temptations come our way, but pray and cast your cares upon God. God will guide through these times.

  40. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

There is not much that God requires. .. not much that he seeks but what he does want be wants with all our heart. I’m thankful to serve a loving, practical God.

  41. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

God teaches us how to love righteously by defining for us what is more meaningful to him. For God it is more meaningful to devote our hearts to submission and serving him with our whole heart. It’s good to give our tithe and offering money but he desires a people who will worship God in Spirit and in truth.

  42. No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.(Micah 6:8 NLT)

In this verse the people of Israel choose to not listen to God but they want to give God what there carnal minds think to give to him. God wants his people of Israel to seek after him and have a relationship following him.

  43. You keep only the laws of evil King Omri; you follow only the example of wicked King Ahab! Therefore, I will make an example of you, bringing you to complete ruin. You will be treated with contempt, mocked by all who see you.”
    Micah 6:16 NLT

Do not be this kind of example. Throughout the Word we see examples of how we ought to live and have victory. God is for us and wants us to go from glory to glory. It is a constant growth and maturity in this walk with the Lord. He has given us example of what and how we should live. Furthermore, there are also examples of what not to do. Follow after God and obey his commandments that your example is one to follow.

  44. 4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

Does God ever remind you of where He brought you out of? And, why would He have to?

Many times the great things that God has done for us in our past, fade away with time. We become ungrateful and even act like if they were little things.

Woe unto me, if I ever have ungratefullness try and creep up on my, I Rebuke it in Jesus name!

  45. 9 The Lord‘s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

  46. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

My GOD is just!!! So why is it that sometimes the flesh (which is made of GOD) doesn’t want to be just, or doesn’t want to walk humbly with GOD or with anything………..it may feel good at the moment but the consequences most of the time do not work out as well. All if we just obeyed from the get go!!!

  47. “Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?”
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭6:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God cares how we earn our money and what we do with it. We should have honest balances or methods or earning th income. If we are to be separate from this world we can not earn money the same way the wicked ones of the world earn money.

  48. 6 Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?

7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

  49. 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
9 The Lord‘s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
