Nahum 1

The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the Lord, a wicked counsellor.

12 Thus saith the Lord; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.

13 For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.

14 And the Lord hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.

15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

  1. The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
    Nahum 1:7 KJV

What a comfort it is to know that He knows my name. In the darkest of nights, when the enemy would have me think that I am all alone, that I am fighting my battles alone, He knows my name, my struggles, my need, and He is with me. He is my strong tower, my defense. He hides me in His pavilion, and under the shadow of His wings I can rest and trust.

My name is engraved on the palms of His hands; He will not forget me. He will never leave or forsake me, for I’ve put my trust in Him. There is no valley so low where He cannot see me, where He does not walk beside me. He is my very present help in time of trouble. His arm is not short that it cannot save. His ear is not deaf that He cannot hear. He knows my name, my voice. He keeps all my tears in a bottle, and He stores my prayers up as a memorial. He is a faithful God, and His promises are true.

Why, then, should I worry? Why should I doubt? Why should I fear or hesitate when His Word says:

The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.
    Psalms 34:7‭-‬10 KJV

  2. 3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

When I look at these verses and I can see how big a mountain is, how high the clouds are in the sky and vast the sea is. These are all amazing wonders and we dwarf in comparsion to the size and power of these natural wonders. So when we compare God and how mighty he is in comparsion, it shows how much bigger God is than the situations we go through and the problems in our life. The possibilities of his power are endless, we can’t even imagine how powerful our God really is.

  3. Verse 7 AMP “The Lord is good, A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him.” Sometimes we think no one understands what we are going through; but, my God knows as this version says He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully.

1 Peter 5:7-11 AMP “casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in your faith [against his attack—rooted, established, immovable], knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. [You do not suffer alone.] After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be]. To Him be dominion (power, authority, sovereignty) forever and ever. Amen.”

  4. 1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

About a hundred years before, at Jonah’s preaching, the Ninevites repented, and were spared, yet, soon after, they became worse than ever. Nineveh knows not that God who contends with her, but is told what a God he is. It is good for all to mix faith with what is here said concerning Him, which speaks great terror to the wicked, and comfort to believers. Let each take his portion from it: let sinners read it and tremble; and let saints read it and triumph. The anger of the Lord is contrasted with his goodness to his people. Perhaps they are obscure and little regarded in the world, but the Lord knows them. The Scripture character of Jehovah agrees not with the views of proud reasoners. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is slow to wrath and ready to forgive, but he will by no means acquit the wicked; and there is tribulation and anguish for every soul that doeth evil: but who duly regards the power of his wrath?

  5. 2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him

There’s no God like Jehovah! I can make it easy 2 underestimate God when he doesn’t answer the way we want them to or think you should. It can be easy to question God when things don’t go the way we want them to go but we must never forget that not only is God all-powerful he is all-knowing. He knows the end from the beginning the best round for every person willing to submit to him. I heard a preacher one say that if he had all the power that God had he would change a lot of things right now, but if you had all the wisdom that God had, you wouldn’t change anything. We have the Lord that our side at all times to defend us, to discipline us into we’re supposed to be and we must never forget how big and how powerful is loving and merciful Our God is, there truly is no God like Jehovah

  6. The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.
    Nahum 1:7 NLT
I am in awe of His faithfulness all the time!!
Just so you know that no matter what comes my way God is always, always good! Whether I’m running, walking, or crawling to the top of the mountain…..’GOD IS GOOD!’

    ‘GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS’

  7. Reading these verses, the images from the volcanoes in Hawaii and Guatemala come to mind.
Like God, a volcano lets time pass without showing what is brewing beneath the surface and what it is capable of, but when the time comes and the pressure can build no longer…

    5. The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.

    6. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

What a mighty, powerful God we serve!

  8. Nahum 1: 2 (English Amp) The Lord is a jealous God and avenging ; the Lord avenged and He is full of wrath, The Lord takes vengeance on His adversaries and reserves wrath for his enemies.
[ Exodus 20:5 ] You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the father’s upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me. We should always God first before anything, He is a faithful and his promises are true .

  9. 9 What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.

This verse is both worries and encourage me. Worries because no affliction shall rise up a second time and that includes man. For what could you imagine against the Lord? Nothing can harm him. He will make an utter end of whoever rises up against the Lord. Which makes me pray for the souls of man who would do so. But I am glad we live in the dispensation of mercy, so they can be reached again. And also happy for if I stay with the Lord and he be in me, what comes against me comes against the Lord and shall not rise up again the second time. think on that. So I am thankful my trust is in the Lord who does not fail.

  10. The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
    Nahum 1:3‭, ‬7 KJV
We serve A Mighty God he’s gracious and slow to anger he knows every thought we think he knows our needs there know words that can explain how magnificent you are the is going to know and going to know how great you are every knee will bow and confessed the NAME of JESUS 😁😁

  11. When God gets angry no one can escape his wrath but he is also slow to anger. God will take down his enemies. He will judge you . If you are against God will make sure you are down.

  12. Nahum 1:2
God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

    Exodus 20 Commandments of God
3“You must not have any other god but me.
4“You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. 5You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.
Here oh Isreal the Lord our God is One ……..

    Revelation 2:4

    New International Version
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.

    New Living Translation
“But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!

True love seeks not its own gratification.
God was merciful to Nineveh and forgave them yet they went right back into their idolatrous ways. They sought after other Gods for self gratification.
Love is about not what you can receive but what you can give. The world seeks and seeks for what can they get out of a relationship. I learned years ago that true love seeks for ways to show your love. It saddens me God created us to love Him and true love goes without any expectations. Every gift then that is given back to you in the return of their love is always a beautiful surprise. All God is asking for is that we love Him with all our heart. He already gave us everything He laid His life down so that we could have eternal life. So the next time we say if only God would do this or that then I could really serve Him love Him remember He already did. And on the natural side of life when you think you have found “the one “ make sure it’s not about what they can do for you . Again love seeks not selfishly but gives out unselfishly. Destruction comes and came to Nineveh because of their self indulgence and leaving their first Love…..there are great rewards in serving God and great rewards in true love.

  13. 15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.

This passage made me think about the fact that almighty God will take vengeance on anything that wars against our praise. You see Satan will send evil spirits, thoughts, distractions into our lives to keep us from praising God and fulfilling the call of God in our lives. Yet we must praise on we cannot change our culture because times get hard. We must remain faithful to praise and faithful to God because He is Faithful to us! The ending if this verse lets us know that the battle is the Lords and He will cut them off.

  14. 2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

This scripture is what got me thinking about the oneness of God when I was in Baptist Prep School . We had Chapel every morning before school and we would ready a chapter and discuss it with the teacher. This was a Monday morning and we had just had church of course on Sunday. At church we sang the song “ God in three persons, blessed trinity” when I read this verse in Chapel the next day I had something rise up in me…. If God is jealous, and the Lord reigneth, how can God and the Lord be different people? When I get to heaven will I worship God or the Lord or Jesus or the Holy Ghost? When I worship the Lord, won’t God be jealous? When I worship God, won’t the Lord be jealous? When I worship Jesus, won’t The Holy Ghost be jealous? I asked these questions to the teacher that morning and never got an answer. THE ANSWER IS…. HERE O ISRAEL THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE! There is none beside him. Any other doctrine is confusing. I’m so blessed to have found the truth and my children are not confused. Thanks be to God for a church that knows the truth!

  15. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Trust in the Lord no matter what your situation is. No matter what might be going on, you MUST, trust in the Lord! The world it’s screaming with song of His return! 2 volcanos had violent eruptions Hawaii and Guatemala, earthquakes in places that never had earthquakes before and they are getting stronger! What are we waiting for? We must spread His Good News SALVATION ITS HERE, TODAY IS THE DAY! He did it for me He will do it for you! God is Good and His Mercy Endures for ever!!!! When things like this happens we must trust in the Lord our God and not lean in our own understanding!!!! Lord help us to ALWAYS trust in you for we know that you are Good and as a good Father chastisement must happen once in a while but we must trust in you for you are our shelter in the mist of the storm, you cover us with your shield of protection, and keep us under your banner of Love! In Jesus Name Amen

  16. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

  17. 2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

  18. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Whom shall I fear?? I know who goes before me, who surrounds me, who keeps me – He’s the King of Kings and His name is Jesus!!

  19. Nahum 1:3-5

  20. Nahum 1:5-8 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth if them that trust in him.

The Lord is pictured pouring out judgement like fire. The mountains quake and the Earth is burned at his presence. Yet, he is a stronghold in the day of trouble to all those who TRUST in him. Like all the prophets, Nahum predicts both judgment and hope conditioned on man’s response to God.

Psalm 25:8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

Psalm 100:5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Jeremiah 10:10 But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting King: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

He is the True and Living God!
    He is serious business.

  21. iLove the Kingdom

    Nahum 1
1 “The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite…”

Wow, never seen this before, however this morning as I read the first verse it struck me…”Wait just a moment, didn’t we just read about Jonah prophesying to the city of Nineveh and they escaped judgement?”

So I went on the internet and found a short explanation. The following is from Jamieson Fausset Brown Bible Commentary, “the prophetic doom of Nineveh. Nahum prophesied against that city a hundred fifty years after Jonah. The majesty of God in goodness to his people, and severity against his enemies.”

Wow, the repentance of Nineveh saved them but we see here that the repentance only lasted 150 years…which is good considering the fact that in today’s society repentance only lasts for most folks a year or two after conversion.

We all need to follow the words written by the Apostle Paul when he emphatically declared he died daily. If we die daily, we will not have to be cast into judgement.

  22. Nineveh the city that Jonah was sent to proclaim repentance or destruction to, now 150 years later is visited by Nahum. He finds the people had once again changed from their “repentive” state of living, and were now worse then before Jonah came to them. This chapter reveals the judgement to come because of their change of heart.

It’s dangerous for a child of God that has known the truth; repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus and the infilling of the Holy Ghost to turn away from what they have been taught and lived to follow the desires of the flesh. It’s like throwing the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus back in His face saying what you did for me is not enough. We must not become like Ninevah. Daily we must crucify our own fleshly desires, and walk in the Spirit, lest we be judged by the same judgement as proclaimed to Ninevah.

  23. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Why should we trust God in a world full of violence, sadness, sickness, and disease? Why not trust Him? Tough times happen. It is life. Whether it’s physical issues, mental disabilities or financial struggles; trusting God can be hard. What else do we have to lose? We can get mad at God and tell Him all about it because sometimes the answer to our prayer is no and we must endure for a season. Doubting God is where the trouble starts. We can question Him without doubting.

How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

“This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s [for] you will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you [and] do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”- 2 Chronicles 20:15, 17-18.

  24. 3 The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked. The Lord has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet.

  25. 7 – 8: “The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. But he will sweep away his enemies in an overwhelming flood.
He will pursue his foes into the darkness of night.”

Every person is either an enemy of God or His friend.
Because we are born sinners we all are His enemy.

Ephesians 2:1-3 “Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature, we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.”

Yet, by the love and mercy of God, He provided a way to escape the punishment of sin.

Jesus took the punishment for my sins on that cross, He took my punishment and gave me protection. We are blessed to give our lives to Christ daily. To have a strong refuge in time of trouble!

  26. THY KINGDOM COME
    THE KING

2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

The attributes and power of our KING are astounding and attractive. Even without HIS Love Factor serving JESUS is attractive. Considering HIS creative power and demanding authority over everything it is wise to follow JESUS and submit to HIS Kingdom and authority (WORD).

The KING established HIS Kingdom on HIS authority, character and will. The attraction to serve JESUS is greater than any other opportunity in creation. GOD is LOVE, HE also is JEALOUS and will avenge all that do evil. HE is slow to anger so that we are not consumed by his fury for our disobedience.

Regardless of the obstacles, JESUS is GREATER. Beginning with evil doers, storms, dust, the sea, rivers, flowers, mountains, hills, the entire earth is all under the authority of the KING.

  27. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

The Lord is a mighty God he will secure and protect he who trusts in him he will not leave you in the dark or abandon you in times of trouble. He will care for you because no problem is too big for him to handle. And the same way that God will take care the person that follows him and has an open heart to him and is obedient to his word if anyone were to rise up and try to go against his word their is no telling what God will have planned for them. The almighty God dose not need to do much because he is all powerful he dose not need you or me or anyone he is God all by himself.

  28. 3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

While God pours out his judgement he also protects his people. And even though he does judge, it is important to note that he is slow to anger. He does warn us and gives us time to make things right. He is a just God, giving us time and chance to repent.

  29. “The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.”
    ‭‭Nahum‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is why you shouldn’t worry about when someone does you wrong.
If they’re in the wrong it’s gonna get taken care of all in due time. Don’t fret cause it’s not on your times but also don’t rejoice because they’re getting punished just pray for that person or if it’s you pray that God will open your eyes and allow you to see where you need correction.
No one is perfect obviously. And the right decisions are the ones that separate you from maturity and immaturity.
When you make a mistake learn from that mistake but know the GUILTY will NOT go unpunished. I know it, it’s in the Bible!

  30. The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite. Nahum 1:1 KJV
The message of judgement to Nineveh was a heavy burden to the prophet. He felt what God felt for this nation unlike Jonah who was sent with a similar message over 100 years before. It was also a vision that the prophet could not shake or get away from, which added to its heaviness. Nahum begins to describe the character of God. The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. Nahum 1:3 KJV
God is not willing that ANY should perish but that ALL might come to repentance. He is so full of mercy and compassion that he is quick to forgive slow to anger slow to judgement but the Lord is not slack concerning his promise and he will not at all acquit the wicked. He will not Overlook their sin it must be dealt with, it must be repented of. God can and will use whatever force of nature or creation to accomplish His will. He used the Red Sea against pharaoh and his army, He used Earth to swallow up Cora and his rebellious company, and he used to flood waters to Beat Down the Walls of unrepentant Nineveh. But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
    Nahum 1:8 KJV
History tells us that this time Nineveh didn’t recover because God had spoken it! Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
    Nahum 1:6 KJV

  31. Nahum 1:2 & 7 (AMP)
    2) The LORD is a jealous and avenging God (protecting and demanding what is rightfully and uniquely His); The LORD avenges and He is full of wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath for His enemies.
    7) The LORD is good, A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows (He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully) those who take refuge and trust in Him.

The LORD takes vengeance on His adversaries and He reserves wrath for His enemies, BUT for those who take refuge and trust in Him, He is our strength and stronghold in the day of trouble.
    The LORD Is Good!

  32. Josiah: 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Trust is not a gift, you have to earn it. So many people just call on Jesus when they are in trouble. Yet, those that truly trust in the Lord and seek Him daily, God will know their voice and help when they call. So, let us GO FIRST SEEK THE LORD!

  33. The LORD is good, a strong refuge
When trouble comes. Hi is close to
    those who trust in him.
    Nahum 1:7 NLT

Trust is a crucial factor in any relationship.

  34. 1:7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows th them that trust in him.

1: there is one out of thee, that imagine th evil against the Lord, a wicked counsellor.
    ———-
By the way, Great teaching from Pastor Watts last night
Searching my heart , asking the Lord if there is any wicked thing in me ( show me) ….
Because I want to be holy like he is holy, Living righteous….
Searching , asking myself some questions:
    Looking a thought life…
For a moment I aloud negative thoughts to perturbed me. But not anymore!!!
My trust is in the Lord, I expect from him, this life I have is his,…
    I believe
    I praise
    I pray
    I work
    I reap
    I keep keeping on!!!!

  35. Look! A messenger is coming over the mountains with good news! He is bringing a message of peace. Celebrate your festivals, O people of Judah, and fulfill all your vows, for your wicked enemies will never invade your land again. They will be completely destroyed!
    Nahum 1:15 NLT

The festivals of the Jewish people give honor to God, so it says to continue honoring God. It’s says to fulfill your vows. They’re told to keep all your commitments. Honor God and keep commitment and enemy will be destroyed.

  36. 6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.

You cannot defy God and get away with it, there will come a time of punishment. Don’t allow the temporary kingdom of this world cause you to challenge the power of God, the one who controls all things. Because to the people who refuse to believe and trust in God, His punishment is like an angry fire. But to those who love Him, His mercy is a stronghold in the days of trouble.
To put our life in His hands or to not, is our choice, what will you choose to do today?

  37. 3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

That is how powerful and amazing is God!! He is the almighty & powerful God!! No problem is to big or small for Him. We must sometimes step back and think of the great power that God has!!! I know we’ve heard this verse many times…

Matthew 19:26 “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”

but how many truly believe it completely with no doubt. The devil wants to steal our faith but we must not let him!!! Lord help me to never doubt or loose faith in you Jesus!!!

  38. 2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

  39. This verse speaks to an interesting dichotomy often seen today: ‘The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.’ Many people believe that the Lord is good. They even sing songs and use phrases to reinforce the concept that God is good! Those that have taken the time to build a relationship with him will even really recognize that God provides a place of refugee and strength when those times of trouble come our way. The dichotomy arrives at that final phrase… and He knoweth them that trust in him.

Although most people have a mental acknowledgement that God knows all things, the actions of many do not declare that this truth has really sunk in. We believe in God, but do we truly believe that God believes in us? Do our actions demonstrate a faith that truly recognizes that God has taken the time to know us and is paying attention to what we do! This is not limited to the role of the God in our final judgement… it declares that he knows those who trust in him. That implies an active attention to what we are doing on a daily basis and the availability of his power and authority to accomplish it! He is not just the God of yesterday and tomorrow… he is an ever present help in time of trouble! Let our actions in the present declare the faith of those who truly trust in him!

  40. 2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lordrevengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

God gets the vengence… God will repay… sometimes we want revenge. Sometimes we want to handle things on our own and take control but vengeance is the Lords he will repay. Put it in God’s hands and let him handle it!

  41. 2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

We should never put anything or anyone in place of God. My
    God is a jealous God.

  42. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

In time that the last days are fast approaching we should be holding as tight as we can to God. He knows our hearts and if we trust in him. Even when the earth quakes with destruction God is looking to see if we will trust in the things we’ve designed for safety or will we turn to him for protection. He can tell the storms to cease and dead to rise, therefore, he can carry us through any situation we face.

  43. The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.(Nahum 1:7 NLT)

The Lord is good all the time. God is so strong that he’s our shelter in times of trouble we can look to him anytime. But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.(Psalms 56:3 NLT)

  44. The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.
    Nahum 1:7 NLT

Good, and strong refuge, and close. That sounds like relationship. Sounds like someone I want to become friends, really good friends with. The word trust let’s me know that there was some time invested. In order for anyone to trust some one they mist hace cultivated a close relationship and that is only built through time and the opportunity to prove oneself faithful.

  45. 2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.

    GOD IS THE ANSWER !!!
    NOTHING IS HIDDEN FROM HIM!!!

  46. 6 Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury?

No one can endure his anger and punishment. So why test the Lord. Serve the Lord and avoid having to ever face his anger.

  47. “GOD is serious business. He won’t be trifled with. He avenges his foes. He stands up against his enemies, fierce and raging. But GOD doesn’t lose his temper. He’s powerful, but it’s a patient power. Still, no one gets by with anything. Sooner or later, everyone pays. Tornadoes and hurricanes are the wake of his passage, Storm clouds are the dust he shakes off his feet. He yells at the sea: It dries up. All the rivers run dry. The Bashan and Carmel mountains shrivel, the Lebanon orchards shrivel. Mountains quake in their roots, hills dissolve into mud flats. Earth shakes in fear of GOD. The whole world’s in a panic. Who can face such towering anger? Who can stand up to this fierce rage? His anger spills out like a river of lava, his fury shatters boulders.”
    ‭‭Nahum‬ ‭1:2-6‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The awesome power of nature is just one way that God manifests his power.
