Nahum 3

Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;

The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.

The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?

Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.

10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

11 Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.

12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.

13 Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.

14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.

15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and fleeth away.

17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

  1. Your shepherds are asleep, O Assyrian king; your princes lie dead in the dust. Your people are scattered across the mountains with no one to gather them together. There is no healing for your wound; your injury is fatal…
    Nahum 3:18‭-‬19 NLT

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
    Matthew 9:36 KJV

Without the voice of a shepherd, the flock is scattered, weak, vulnerable, endangered, or mortally wounded. It is the shepherd who leads, protects, and heals. No sheep finds his way into the safety of the fold who has not learned to follow the voice of his shepherd.

God has ordained anointed men as under-shepherds for His flock. These pastors are to lead, feed, take the oversight of, and give an account to God for the sheep placed in their folds. One of the fastest ways to get lost in this world, scattered, and wounded is to cut yourself off from hearing the voice of the shepherd God has placed over you. Whether he speaks to guide or to correct, God expects us to submit to the leadership of a pastor.

Israel’s shepherds were leading the people into sin. A true shepherd will always lead people out of sin and into holiness. To resist that voice is to wound oneself.

We need to thank God for holy men of God who have gathered us into the fold and watched over our souls. We need to give thanks for the pastors who are not sleeping on the job, but are sounding a cry to all sheep to gather in closer than ever before. We are blessed, edified, and protected by godly leadership. Thank You, Lord, that You have not left us in the hands of a hireling, but You have given us a shepherd who cares for our souls.

  2. 1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;

2 The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.

3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.

5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?

9 Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.

10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

When proud sinners are brought down, others should learn not to lift themselves up. The fall of this great city should be a lesson to private persons, who increase wealth by fraud and oppression. They are preparing enemies for themselves; and if the Lord sees good to punish them in this world, they will have none to pity them. Every man who seeks his own prosperity, safety, and peace, should not only act in an upright, honourable manner, but with kindness to all.

  3. Verse 18 CEV “King of Assyria, your officials and leaders sleep the eternal sleep, while your people are scattered in the mountains. Yes, your people are sheep without a shepherd. Same verse AMP “Your shepherds are asleep, O king of Assyria; Your nobles are lying down [in death]. Your people are scattered on the mountains And there is no one to gather them.” Thank you Lord for the authority/leadership/Pastors that you have placed in my life. It is time for leadership to wake up, step in, step in to help gather in all who are lost and without a shepherd.

  4. THY KINGDOM COME
    NO HELP AVAILABLE AT JUDGEMENT

18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

The Kingdom of GOD is real, eternity is real, judgement is real. JESUS, The KING of Kings is full of Mercy and a picture of Grace. However as happened to Ninevah so shall it be upon the world we live in. We live in a season or dispensation of Grace (Unmerited or Underserved Favor) so that we can prepare ourselves to be with JESUS.

The WORD of GOD along with Prophets of the ages have perpetually warned us that JESUS is coming for HIS Bride (Church) and we must be busy, focused, passionately and patiently preparing for HIS call. JESUS has set the date, and for those who choose to live in sin and ignore the call and pleas for repentance will meet the same end as Ninevah.

The Pastors will be gone, the police will have no control, there will be no healing for the wounded. No one to pray for you, no one share good news with you. There will be no good news. Judgement has come and it will never end.

We must live a life of repentance and walk in the Spirit, crying day night unto the LORD JESUS, seeking FIRST The Kingdom of GOD and all that pertains to HIM.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray

  5. 14 Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.
15 There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.

Judgment is coming what they do no matter where they try to hide it will not be applied for the Judgment of God. Because God is very graceful people have often taken advantage Toronto and do whatever they want. What people seem to forget is that while guy is merciful and long-suffering, he is still just and will judge those according to their words. I don’t believe we should live in the fear of judgement nor should we act right to avoid judgement but I do believe we should have a healthy fear of God inside of us to help keep our Flesh to be sober-minded at all times

  6. Nahum 3:11-12 (English Amp) Yet she was carried away; she went into captivity, Her young children also were dashed in pieces at all the street corner; lots were cast [ by the Assyrian officers] for het nobles, and all great men were bound with chains. [11] You will be drunk [ Nineveh] with the cup of God’s wrath]; You will be dazed. You will seek and require a refuge because of the enemy. If we don’t seek Jesus first, This what is going to happen in our lives. Wake up World and Repent in Jesus Name.

  7. 1. Hopelessness and despair, that’s the destiny of the city that shed so much blood,That perfected its use of lies, that overflows with stolen treasures, Leaving behind endless victims.

    19. Nothing and no one can heal your wound. Your city’s wounds are fatal; you cannot survive. Everyone who hears the news of your destruction claps his hands in celebration, Because who among them has not felt your legendary and endless cruelty? Voice

    Galatians 6:7
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. KJV

  8. 5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

We sing songs if God with us who can go against us!!! In the same way if God is not with us everything can come against us and destroy us. Lord do not take your presence from us, keep your Holy Ghost in us, and never leave our side. I do not want to be cast away from you oh Lord!!!! Help us stay in your word, help us stay under your shield, and may You Always be with us! In Jesus Name Amen

  9. 17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.

  10. 3:19 you couldn’t stand the truth, you hated righteousness, for a moment yes you accepted it, but then you went back to your sinful evil ways,God had mercy on you, and you accepted it , but then you turn your back on him, you couldn’t stay submitted, you heard the messenger, and you felt sorrow but within you, you really didn’t want to change your ways, your evil deeds, now what?
The time has come, and who can saved you? What’s next? Can’t blamed no one, you hurt many, and you thought you were going to get away with it, sure you did for a while, you did everything you pleased, but God
    almighty is RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY!
    —————-
    3:19
    Nothing can heal your hurt
Your sore can not be cured. All
Who hear about you will clap their hands over you. For who has not suffer under your sinful ways again and again? NLV

  11. Nahum 3

What a mess to be in .

    2 Timothy 3:2
    New International Version
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

God help us to stay close to your Kingdom in Jesus name.

  12. All who see you will flee from you and say, ‘Nineveh is in ruins—who will mourn for her?’ Where can I find anyone to comfort you?”

POFW knows who gives us comfort? We all know who to call in? Yet many people are growing up not know who Jesus is! I have seen children that don’t even know what the Word God or pray is! Not everyone is blessed to know the true King of Kings…many are stilll worshiping the wrong king expecting and hoping that that “god” can listen to them.

We must reach out at no cost! We have to get outside our comfort zone and go preach and teach with boldness!!!

  13. AMP – Behold, your people are [as weak and helpless as] women in your midst!
    The gates of your land are opened wide to your enemies;
Fire consumes the bars across your gates.

Israel had lost their covering, and now they were open to the spirit of destruction. We must be aware when we sin, we step out of the covering of not only our Pastor and leaders over us, but also the covering of the Lord’s protection.

His Spirt and blood are there to cover us, protect us from the wiles of the enemy. To keep our minds pure and stayed upon Him. However, when we sin we bring enmity against God. A cistern cannot bring forth two kinds of water, it’s either bitter or sweet. So is our lives, they are either holy or unholy. Clean or sinful. I pray the Spirit of God will move in our hearts every day and keep us on the right track. Convict us when we need, hold us close when we need it and love us through it all.

  14. 3 The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:

4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
Oh, God revive this nation unto you! J SOLIZ

  15. 18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

  16. “Your shepherds are asleep, O king of Assyria; Your nobles are lying down [in death]. Your people are scattered on the mountains And there is no one to gather them.”
    ‭‭NAHUM‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

It’s a tough place to find yourself without a Good shepherd. A few roles of a Good Shepherd is to guide, nourish, protect and nurse back to health. There are so many around us that are in that place today. I pray that compassion come over us as we reach for them to come into the Kingdom and find the Good Shepherd.

“When Jesus went ashore, He saw a large crowd [waiting], and He was moved with compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd [lacking guidance]; and He began to teach them many things.”
    ‭‭MARK‬ ‭6:34‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  17. 10 Yet she was carried away, she went into captivity, her young children also were dashed to pieces, at the head of every street, they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains..

  18. 13 Your troops will be as weak and helpless as women. The gates of your land will be opened wide to the enemy and set on fire and burned. (NLT)

What are you opened to? We must guard our hearts and guard our minds. Just like a filter it’s what everything we intake passes through. We become what and who we surround ourselves with (i.e. what we open ourselves up to). Plead the blood and read the Word, praying daily for it to be like a filter for us so we make wise, Godly choices in everything we do and allow into our lives. Let Godly discipline be like the gatekeeper to your mind, to say no and flee when necessary so that your heart and soul are protected.

  19. But the fire will devour you; the sword will
cut you down. The enemy will consume you
like locusts, devouring everything they see.
There will be no escape, even if you multiply
like swarming locusts. Nahum 3:15 NLT

How tragic is for a city to prosper having Beauty, favor, growth and allow pride to enter the heart.

  20. Where did the ball drop in 150 years for Nineveh to become more wicked then before? Makes me wonder of the areas of my life where I may not be passing the Baton properly and dropping the ball in raising my children in a Godly manner. Jesus I pray that You search my heart and search every aspect of my life Lord God and reveal to me ways that I can improve and help my family to grow in fullness of a relationship with You.
You give us so many chances to walk in a humble and repentive state, but we know that judgment is coming. Lord, continue to give us a holy boldness as we go to reach this city. I pray the d of pride, tradition, and false Doctrine would be torn down so that the love of God, the truth and fullness of Your gospel can flood these people and consume them and may be turned, repent, be baptized in Your name, and receive Your beautiful spirit and speak Your beautiful language. May their lives be forever changed to give You glory and honor and praise. In Jesus Name. THY KINGDOM COME

  21. What sorrow awaits Nineveh, the city of murder and lies! She is crammed with wealth and is never without victims. All this because Nineveh, the beautiful and faithless city, mistress of deadly charms, enticed the nations with her beauty. She taught them all her magic, enchanting people everywhere.

“I am your enemy!” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “And now I will lift your skirts and show all the earth your nakedness and shame.
    Nahum 3:1‭, ‬4‭-‬5 NLT

Momentarily satisfaction of sin… sexuality, murder, money, decption, and a faithless country. Sounds like days we are living in many not caring that all of this only brings death!!

Jesus forgive the sins of our nation. As a church(POFW) we must continue in pouring out our lives into the lost S.O.U.L.S of our city.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
    Galatians 6:9 NLT

  22. 18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.

19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

Our world needs Jesus now more than it ever has before. We must be the light in the darkness. We must allow God to shine through us each and every day.

  23. Nahum 3:5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.

Jeremiah 50:31 Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for the day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

    We must seek God daily
    Repent daily
    Die daily

I Cor. 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our lord, I Die daily.

  24. 7: “All who see you will shrink back and say, ‘Nineveh lies in ruins. Where are the mourners?’ Does anyone regret your destruction?”

Whats the difference between regret and repentance?

    re·gret
    rəˈɡret/Submit
    verb
    1. feel sad, repentant, or disappointed over (something that has happened or been done, especially a loss or missed opportunity).

    re·pent
    rəˈpentəns/Submit
    verb
to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life.

Regret is a state where we realize our wrong doings, rather knowing or unknowingly. However, with regret a person will continue to think about their mistake over and over again, instead of turning from their mistakes.

Repentance realizes the mistake, and seeks forgiveness. Not for the comfort of the regret but to establish a better way of living that will preserve the values of the lifestyle.

    2 Corinthians 7:10 MSG
“Distress that drives us to God does that. It turns us around. It gets us back in the way of salvation. We never regret that kind of pain. But those who let distress drive them away from God are full of regrets, end up on a deathbed of regrets.”

  25. 5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the Lord of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.

These people did not ‘know’ God, nor did they have respect unto him. No doubt the men of God warned them, but they did not heed the warnings and judgement is coming. The Lord will avenge his enemies.

  26. Josiah: 1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;
Sin leadeth to destruction. Following this world leads to destruction. However serving the Lord leads to eternity with God. Our life is just a vapour and we do not have time to get destracted. We do not have time to slack. So, let us GO GET CLOSER and know more of God each and every day!

  27. [Nah 3:19 NLT] 19 There is no healing for your wound; your injury is fatal. All who hear of your destruction will clap their hands for joy. Where can anyone be found who has not suffered from your continual cruelty?

I am so grateful that God will see to it that evil and wickedness is punished. [Psa 103:6 KJV] 6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.
God will fight for the “good” guys and defeat evil every time!
[Psa 34:16 KJV] 16 The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
This was the case for Nineveh, God after showing them great mercy, finally did cut off their remembrance.
[Heb 10:31 KJV] 31 [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

  28. Annum 3:4-6

  29. “I am your enemy!” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “And now I will lift your skirts and show all the earth your nakedness and shame. I will cover you with filth and show the world how vile you really are.
    Nahum 3:5‭-‬6 NLT

We read here about a time of judgement. When the Lord finally says I’m your enemy or against you…better yet your sin. However before this, there was time for warning and repentance. God gives all the opportunity to repent and come to good terms before he calls out the sin. His Love is amazing and his judgment is to be feared. May the hearts listen when the Lord gives the warning.

  30. iLove the Kingdom
    4All this because Nineveh,
    the beautiful and faithless city,
    mistress of deadly charms,
enticed the nations with her beauty.
She taught them all her magic,
    enchanting people everywhere.

Wow, notice the phrase “the beautiful and faithless city…” This brings up an interesting thought as to why the most beautiful cities in the world are the most liberal and wicked cities in the world.

Beauty has a way of blinding folks to the invisible things of God. Think about it, if you lived in a tropical paradise and had everything you wanted, would you really need God? Look at a political map of the US. Aren’t most of the blue states near the ocean, or in a beautifully situated location? Wow, God isn’t impressed…judgement is coming.

  31. “Are you any better than the city of Thebes, situated on the Nile River, surrounded by water? She was protected by the river on all sides, walled in by water. Ethiopia and the land of Egypt gave unlimited assistance. The nations of Put and Libya were among her allies. Yet Thebes fell, and her people were led away as captives. Her babies were dashed to death against the stones of the streets. Soldiers threw dice to get Egyptian officers as servants. All their leaders were bound in chains.”
    ‭‭Nahum‬ ‭3:8-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We see many many times in the Bible where God warned His people to not follow a certain path because it would follow nothing but destruction. And that was exactly what happened to those who did not heed to His warning.
We must not insist on learning through personal experiences, we can learn through history, through our elders, and through listening to the voice of God!

  32. Nahum 3:18, “Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust; thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.”

  33. “Your shepherds are asleep, O king of Assyria; Your nobles are lying down [in death]. Your people are scattered on the mountains And there is no one to gather them.”
    ‭‭NAHUM‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Without shepherds we find ourselves scattered and lost. It is important to understand the value of a Shepherd and how important and vital it is to our salvation and success in life.

  34. PRAY FOR YOUR PASTOR. You have no idea what battles your pastor goes through everyday. Love your pastor because he lives to spread the Gospel. Respect your pastor . If he offends you . Well oh well get over yourself . God brought him in your life to lead and guide you.

  35. 4-6 Fatally seductive, you’re the Witch of Seduction,
luring nations to their ruin with your evil spells.
5-7 “I’m your enemy, Whore Nineveh—
    I, God-of-the-Angel-Armies!
I’ll strip you of your seductive silk robes
and expose you on the world stage.
I’ll let the nations get their fill of the ugly truth
of who you really are and have been all along.

Nations are ruined because of seducing spirits. These are spirits that leaders, pastors, and wise men warn us about through the Word of God. It would be very beneficial for us to heed their warning.

If you are wondering why you feel like everything around you seems dead? It may be time to evaluate where you are in God.

  36. 18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

  37. “I am your enemy!” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “And now I will lift your skirts and show all the earth your nakedness and shame.(Nahum 3:5 NLT)

This verse shows God speaking to Nineveh saying to them that he’s going to put Nineveh to shame and nakedness, then expose them to the whole earth. Nakedness here also means exile. God point was clear that lust will not only lead to being disrobed of honor but will also lead to the loss of their homeland.

  38. 10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.

One of the toughest questions we face is why a loving God allows children to suffer. The problem is when we try to make God accountable for the actions of vile people. From nations and people that don’t know the peace of Jesus, we can expect to see satans murderous devises in full swing (Jn 8:44). Consequently, innocent children are often caught in the crossfire of unforgiveness and escalating revenge. In this verse God reminds Assyria that their act of murdering infants has not gone unnoticed. During conflicts with Egypt, Assyrian soldiers would kill their innocent children. The violence of war soon will be seen within Assyria’s own ranks- not due to any unfairness on God’s part, but because it is the way of sinful people living in a sinful world. If that sinful nation refuses to repent of their sin, they make themselves against Him and prey to be overtaken by the enemy of our souls.

  39. 18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?

HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! THANK YOU LORD for your infinite mercy that you have given us such a great Pastor and First Lady!!!

  40. Jonah would be so distressed at God’s response to the repentance of Ninevah, and yet even though he didn’t have the opportunity to witness it himself, that prophecy would still come to pass, because God’s word is always sure. ‘And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?’

When that day off judgement came, it was no different from the final judgement, because ‘There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?’ There was a generation that at least for a season repented, but that repentance did not last. We cannot afford for that to be the case in our lives. Let us die daily to sin in repentance and allow God’s grace to continually supply for all of our needs unto that day when we can stand in glory with him! Don’t lose sight of the goal! Don’t let up, don’t give up, don’t become slack or self satisfied… the end is more than worth the price! God is still great and greatly to be praised!
