Zephaniah 1

The word of the Lord which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the Lord.

I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord.

I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;

And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham;

And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him.

Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

And it shall come to pass in the day of the Lord‘s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.

10 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.

11 Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil.

13 Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.

14 The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord‘s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

  1. “I will crush Judah and Jerusalem with my fist and destroy every last trace of their Baal worship. I will put an end to all the idolatrous priests, so that even the memory of them will disappear. For they go up to their roofs and bow down to the sun, moon, and stars. They claim to follow the Lord , but then they worship Molech, too. And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the Lord ’s guidance or seek my blessings.”
    Zephaniah 1:4‭-‬6 NLT

There were three kinds of people on the above list that were slotted for the same judgment:
    1. The unbelieving idol worshipper
    2. The idolatrous, lukewarm priest who combined Jehovah worship with the worship of other things
    3. The backslider

The idolater denies the true God. The lukewarm degradate God, making Him equal with other temporary and irrelevant things; and the backslider repudiates his need of God, making himself the only god in his life.

The above list also shows us what God expects of us:
    1. God expects us to know who He is.
    2. God expects us to lay down every idol and worship Him alone.
    3. God expects our relationship with Him to remain undivided, passionate, relevant, and current until He takes us home.

The culmination of all these points is summarized in the last part of verse six:
God expects us to look ONLY to Him for both guidance and blessing AT ALL TIMES. Anything else we look to instead of, or in conjunction with, God becomes an idol and makes us an idolater, worthy of impending judgment.

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
    Deuteronomy 6:4‭-‬5 KJV

…Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
    Luke 4:8 KJV

“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God,”
    Exodus 34:14 KJV.

  2. I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
    Zephaniah 1:4 KJV

In Verse 4 we have the only demunciaition of the prophet in this book they were guilty of levity trifling with the weightiest matters. There was no gravity or sieadfastnes in their life or teaching. They were treacherous because unfaaithiful to Him whom they claimed to represent ,rather encouraging the people in their apostasy from the Lord by their unholy deebs they profaned the sanctuary; They did violence to the law st distorting its plain intent and meaning when they were teaching the people.

  3. 13 Therefore their goods shall become booty and their houses a desolation. They shall build houses but not inhabit them. They will plant vineyards, but not drink their wine. The great day of the Lord is near. It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter, there the mighty men shall cry out.

  4. Verse 14 MSG “The Great Judgment Day of God is almost here. It’s countdown time: . . . seven, six, five, four . . .Bitter and noisy cries on my Judgment Day, even strong men screaming for help.” It is crunch time and we have no time to lose, no time to wait, the time is now…….don’t hesitate as the song says.

  5. 4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
    5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham;
6 And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him.

The day of judgement day off God is reserved for those who oppose God towards him. Those who have not followed or chosen to be loyal to the God Almighty that we serve. The Wrath of God stored up in heaven will not be poured out on the people of God who submitted their lives to him. People then have a healthy fear of God have nothing to fear of his Wrath

  6. Zephaniah 1: 15 ( English Amp) That day is a day of wrath, a day of ruin and devastation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness. We must be saved , Get ready for the coming of the Lord. There’s no time to waste. Wake up people God’s coming soon.

  7. 12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil.

I heard this often when I was in my late teens (70’s) the belief that God wouldn’t do anything because God is Love so we could live however we wanted. Those days are back!!! The mentality of YOLO (you only live once). That little phrase justifies everything in their eyes. They don’t believe in hell or the rath of God. It’s just an “I don’t care attitude” I will get all the pleasure I can get out of life”. Then, what? Their faces will surely change whenthe day of judgement comes. Let keep sounding the alerts!!! Let’s keep telling the world of His return!!! For He is MIGHTY IN RIGHTEOUSNESS and just like Jesus we don’t want anyone to perish but that ALL come to Salvation under His Holy Name JESUS!!! Amen

  8. Zephaniah 1:8

And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD’S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with {d} strange apparel.

    (d) Meaning, the courtiers, who did imitate the strange apparel of other nations to win their favour by it, and to appear glorious in the eyes of all othes

Proverbs 31:30 King James Version (KJV)
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

  9. 5. I will use My power against those who worship creation- those who bow down on their roofs before the multitude of stars in heaven- And against those who bow down and pledge allegiance to both the Eternal One and false gods such as Milcom, god of the Ammonites. Voice

We are here to worship the Creator, not the creation.

    Help me want the Healer

    More than the healing

    Help me want the Savior

    More than the saving

    Help me want the Giver

    More than the giving

Oh help me want You Jesus

    More than anything

  10. Zephaniah 1:4-6
    4) I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from his place, and the name the Chemarims with the priests;
    5) And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
    6) And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.

The LORD is going to stretch His hand upon and cut off the idolater, the double-minded, the backslider, and the prayerless people.
The time is NOW church to “Wake Up” for the day of the LORD is near. NOW is the time to put away all worldly things, fix your mind on Jesus, get back to our first love, and pray and seek Him.

Romans 13:11 says, “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”

  11. And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the Lord ’s guidance or seek my blessings.”
    Zephaniah 1:6 NLT

Be careful of complacency and going through the motions. Do you stand and worship because everyone is standing or do you stand because truly in your heart you want to bless and glorify Him? Where are we spiritually? O think doing a frequent evaluation can aid us in our walk with God and keep us out of messes in the Future.

  12. Josiah: The Lord’s wrath is not something I want or plan to experience. I would rather feel displeasure from this world for the years I am alive then to displease God. Yes, God destroys those who do not listen but He also blesses those who take time to obey His word and His commandments. So, let us GO FIRST SEEK THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

  13. 14 The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

  14. Simply put, what I see is that the Lord is a God of love but he is also a God of wrath, and we must be mindful this nature.

  15. “I will search with lanterns in Jerusalem’s darkest corners to punish those who sit complacent in their sins. They think the Lord will do nothing to them, either good or bad. So their property will be plundered, their homes will be ransacked. They will build new homes but never live in them. They will plant vineyards but never drink wine from them. “That terrible day of the Lord is near. Swiftly it comes— a day of bitter tears, a day when even strong men will cry out.
    Zephaniah 1:12‭-‬14 NLT
Judgement is pronounced against Judah that would soon be fulfilled by Babylon. Zephaniah identifies who will be judged. In these verses it is those that are complacent (they were satisfied in their sin) and had no fear of God. Yet, that is the nature of sin, it hardens the heart and deceives the offender to thinking they are okay. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
    Hebrews 3:13 KJV
Nevertheless judgement did come even though the people thought God was not near or interested in them. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
    Galatians 6:7 KJV

  16. iLove the Kingdom
2 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil.

Right here in the scripture, we find the Lord about to punish people that are comfortable. Yep average folk. Those who don’t think God will give blessings or curses. Those who are lukewarm. They don’t necessarily think God will do good or bad.

Lord deliver us from that mentality. When the blessings of God are preached let us shout and when the correction of the Lord comes, let us shout unto the Lord.

  17. THY KINGDOM COME
    SEEK FIRST

6 And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him.

The LORD was extremely descriptive in identifying those that he would consume off the land and it is obvious that it matters to JESUS who and what we seek.

    The AMP versions reads:
6 And those who have turned back from following the Lord,
And those who have not sought the Lord [as their most important need] or inquired of Him.”

“Those that have not sought the Lord as their most important need”.

I pray today this passage gives us much more meaning to “seek ye First The Kingdom of GOD”. It is much more than some churchy cliche, it is the expectation of our Lord JESUS.

  18. 6 And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the Lord’s guidance or seek my blessings.” (NLT)

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. (James 4:17)

God is a jealous God and His heart aches when His children don’t keep Him first and seek Him first. Lord I need Your guidance and I desire Your blessings and Your will to be done above all else!!

In the other hand, there’s several souls in this region and in this world who know God, who know His truth and lost a love for it. We have the opportunity to find them and be God’s hands and feet to guide them back to Him. We really just need to open our eyes and be diligent because more people than we think have at least heard apostolic truth or have experienced pentecost but their perceptions are skewed and/or misunderstood. Let the Lord guide you and give you words to speak so that souls are compelled by His Spirit!

Jesus, You lead and I’ll follow!

  19. Zephaniah 1:18
Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to rescue them on the day of the Lord’s idignatian and wrath. And the whole earth will be consumed in the fire of His jealous wrath, for he shall make a a full and complete end, indeed a terrifying one, of all the inhabitants of the earth.

    Proverbs 10:2
Treasures of wickedness and ill-gotten gains do not profit, but righteousness and moral Integrity in daily life rescues from death

  20. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord‘s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Why depends on the things of this world like money these things won’t save the name of JESUS is the only name that can save we read here and it talks about them worshipping idols I also read participating in worship idols that like saying I didn’t drink but you are hanging out with people that all drinking let’s give a better example your friend Rob’s a bank you didn’t Rob but you drove the getaway car to you just as guilty and you both go jail
GOD mention it will all be destroyed is will be a sad day strong man will cry he as mentioned

“I will crush Judah and Jerusalem with my fist and destroy every last trace of their Baal worship. I will put an end to all the idolatrous priests, so that even the memory of them will disappear. Yes, I will punish those who participate in pagan worship ceremonies, and those who fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit. “That terrible day of the Lord is near. Swiftly it comes— a day of bitter tears, a day when even strong men will cry out. It will be a day when the Lord ’s anger is poured out— a day of terrible distress and anguish, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,
    Zephaniah 1:4‭, ‬9‭-‬9‭, ‬14‭-‬15 NLT
no time to wast the time is now
It’s time to go and reach the lost let thy kingdom thy will be done

  21. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord‘s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

Being rich won’t give you salvation from God, but having a relationship with Him will. There’s nothing wrong with money, but don’t let it become more important than your relationship with Christ.

  22. “Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When we seek after God and we turn our focus to him then He will turn to us.

“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Let’s seek so we will find his kingdom here.

  23. 7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

You have time NOW to choose Him, to worship ONLY Him, and to Live for Him. For when the Lord’s day comes, the time is up. Every choice you made will be accounted for, every time you choose to do or not do something will be laid out before you.

Don’t wait until your “caught” to change your actions, hold thy peace in the presence of the Lord by living according to His scripture NOW.

  24. 17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord‘s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

It matters not what we store up or build in this old earth, when the great day of judgement comes, only what we have done with the gospel is going to matter.
We must live like today is our last….our last chance to worship Him, our last chance to serve His kingdom, our last chance to tell others about Him, our last chance to love like He loves, our last chance to bring hope to the hurting, dying world…….

This song came to mind today as I read verse 18:

    ONLY ONE LIFE

    VERSE 1
    It matters so little
    How much you may own
    The places you’ve been
    Or people that you k
For it all comes to nothing
    When placed at His feet
    It’s nothing to Jesus
    Just memories to me

    VERSE 2
You can take all the treasures
    From far away lands
    And take all the riches
you can hold in your hands
    And take all the pleasures
    Your riches can buy
    But will it help
When it’s your time to die

    CHORUS
    Only one life
    So soon it will pass
Only what’s done for Christ will last
Only one chance to do His will
So give to Jesus all you days
It’s the only life that pays
    When you recall
    You have but one life

    VERSE 3
    The days pass so swiftly
    The months come and go
    The years melt away
    Like new falling s
    Spring turns to summer
    Then summer to fall
    Autumn brings winter
    Then death come to all

  25. ” I will search with Lanterns in Jerusalem’s
darkest corners to punish those who sit
complacent in their sins. They think the
LORD will do nothing to them, either good
    or bad. Zephaniah 1:12 NLT

Their times when we justify our Behavior (actions )
Thinking with this type of mentality, that we getting away with it. Just because there was no consequences directly to you as an individual, it that’s mean that they were no negative consequences.

    Every action creates a reaction!

  26. 4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
    5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham;
6 And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him.

From the beginning of time the Judgement fo God was poured out when the righteous decided to turn away from righteousness. Lucifer once an angel of light turned away from righteousness, Adam and Eve, and the children of Isreal are all examples of this.

Once sin entered the world God knew the sinful nature of man that sinful people will do sinful things. So He came down in the flesh, died, and left us Holy Ghost that we may have a chance to reunite with His nature and His character which is righteousness and holiness.

    Roamns 8:3-8
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

I said all that to say if this world is ever going to see revival and the Kingdom of God truly expanded, the church must stay in the nature and character of God. We must put away the mindsets of this world and walk not in the flesh but in the spirit. When the church fails to walk in the spirit the judgment of God is poured out because He cannot find one man that will stand in the gap. Remember when we stand in the gap we are holding back the judgment of God and giving man a chance to be united with Him through repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

So, the question is “will we the church bridge of gap or enlarge the gap of Hell”

    Ezekiel 22:30
I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land so that I might not destroy it, but I found no one.

Here we see the two responsibilities of the righteous for a city or nation

    1. stand upon the wall as Watchmen- watchmen watch over the land. They ensure the safety of those in the land, and send a warning when a threat is approaching.
    2. stand in the gap- we are to intercede for the land and stand between man and the judgment of God.

  27. 1:5 and them that worship the host of heaven upon the Houston’s;and them that worship and swear by the Lord and that sear by Malcham.
    ————
    The Lor’d decree!

Idolatry back then, idolatry now days. Idols….
swear by their gods but swear also by Holy God, can’t be!
Because they resist God , they defy God, and worship what they have made their gods; the real one, all power, all knowing , all sufficient God wil bring his wrath .
No more playing, no more worshiping and swearing by both….
choose this day who you are going to serve…..
    God can not be mocked…..
    Can’t serve , have two gods……

  28. 4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;

    5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham;

6 And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him.

Even after all this time and even after warnings after wanrnings are found, people still would rather put their trust in a false idol rather than in God. No, idols aren’t always statues, people have now found them in self, money, power, and in other people. But ultimately every idol will be proven worthless and the One True Living God will prevail.
These few verses simply come to this,
Seek God first and put no other gods before Him!

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭20:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  29. 12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, neither will he do evil.

To those who believe God will do nothing about their actions good or bad they are mistaken. God’s judgment is sure even if it’s not swift. Our actions will be judged and we will reap what we sow weather good or evil. ..

  30. 5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham;
6 And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him.
7 Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is at hand: for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.
8 And it shall come to pass in the day of the Lord‘s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

No one will be exempt from judgement. God has prepared an banquet and feast and has invited each and every soul to enter in. Believers and non believers alike are bound by his word and will be judged by it too. We must go to those in our lives and invite then to come and to know that the Lord he is God and that he is good all the time. He does have a plan for each of our lives and an expected end for us in his kingdom.

  31. 6 And them that are turned back from the Lord; and those that have not sought the Lord, nor enquired for him.

For this reason there are standards, we are to grow, seeking GOD without ceasing. Standards help us from backsliding, but ultimately it is a choice to uphold the standard or to back slide. It can be a slow process but once the decision is made to back slide, it is very hard to come back especially when one struggles to forgive oneself. GOD is not to blame for ones decisions, it is only as hard as one makes it out to be. There is the day that HE will destroy and bring justice regardless of the decisions that we have made, whether it be to continue to serve HIM or to give into the lusts of the flesh, but it is surely coming!!! GOD HAS THE FIRST AND LAST WORD!!! HE RULES!!! LIFT UP THE NAME OF JESUS OOO YE LANDS!!!

  32. Lot of golden nuggets in here and after reading the chapter and a few of everyone’s blog it’s very obvious that if it’s anybody we don’t need to be like it’s the three types of people Sister Graham mentioned in her blog.

It’s a reminder to seek thy Kingdom first like pastor said in his.
Next Level that’s where we want to Go but what are we doing to get there. Previously we’ve heard messages about Discipline and seeking thy Kingdom.
Learning and knowing when to say no to something and seeking the Kingdom first will help you acknowledge when that NO needs to be used.
Would Jesus approve of that? That’s a good question let that be your first question when a thought comes to mind.

Today we have a reminder on what to do and consequences listed if we don’t do the right. If we willingly choose the wrong.

  33. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord‘s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

When the Lord comes on that day nothing can save you if you have not been walking a saved life already nothing in this world could save you not money or anything else unless it is the bible, bringing people to church , getting the holy ghost , repent , and get baptized in JESUS name that is why we have to be ready for when he comes

  34. Zephaniah 1:16-18

  35. 14 The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

When I read this passage. An old song came to mind. “What a day that will be.” Although the song talks about when Jesus comes back, we can see what people will see in the last day, verses what we will see.

WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE

There’s coming a day when no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky
No more tears to dim the eye
    All is peace forever more
    On that happy golden shore
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face the one who saved my by His grace
When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land
What a day, glorious day that will be

There will be no sorrows there
And no more burdens to bear
No more sickness and, no more pain
    No more parting over there
And forever I will be with the one who died for me
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face the one who saved my by His grace
When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land
What a day, glorious day that will be

What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face the one who saved my by His grace
When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the promised land
What a day, glorious day that will be

  36. “And it shall come to pass in the day of the Lord’s sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.”
    ‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I will come to the Lord in my best attire I will come to the Lord living in the clothes of holiness. My God deserves the best and nothing but the best.

  37. 4 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;

    5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the Lord, and that swear by Malcham;

  38. 6 mention those who’ve dumped God altogether, no longer giving him a thought or offering a prayer.

We must keep our mind on God and do his work! There is no time to waste, to give up time to do things of this world instead of reaching out to those who have forgotten about what his mercy and grace can do for them and others. Do God’s will above all else to go out and help others find his salvation! God let us follow your will of guidance and grace to do your works and save those who need you!

  39. My God is a jealous God . Because well he made every thing. Everything man made it came from God’s resources .you shouldn’t have idols . Many people are too faced they worship God but also worship football, wrestling , celebrities . Food, husband, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, side dude , whatever . But they never fully concentrate on God. Which that can get God angry and cause judgment . Put God First .

  40. ““That terrible day of the Lord is near. Swiftly it comes— a day of bitter tears, a day when even strong men will cry out. It will be a day when the Lord’s anger is poured out— a day of terrible distress and anguish, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness, a day of trumpet calls and battle cries. Down go the walled cities and the strongest battlements!”
    ‭‭Zephaniah‬ ‭1:14-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
The day is near. What a day it will be for the winning team. What a day it’ll be for those that are comfortable. Jessie have mercy. Thy kingdom come.

  41. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord‘s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

The Lord begins and ends on the same note. He has set a day for judgment for Jerusalem for they say they serve God but continue in pagan ceremonies. Our God is jealous for us and will not put up with being placed on the backburner. He declares that he is preparing a sacrifice and preparing his people for slaughter. When sin is rid from a nation or people it pleases God. So when God has to come and strip the sin out of us by means of death it is painful to him but also brings peace to the land. In their days their was not tanks, Humvees, Apaches, or F22’s, therefore, sweeping away a full nation takes time in fact many years. They had every opportunity to repent and refused. They became so consumed with sin that that it was all they knew and desired. Since they have been so consumed with wickedness now God will consume them with destruction. This is why we cannot allow ourselves to become so full on the world that we are malnourished spiritually. The people of Jerusalem were spiritually dead way before God stepped in with judgment they were just too stubborn to turn back to God. We can’t allow ourselves to reach a point of no return.

  42. And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the Lord ’s guidance or seek my blessings.”(Zephaniah 1:6 NLT)

God will wipe out the ones that used to worship him but they turned away from him. When you get to a point were you no longer have passion or hunger to seek God then your stuck in contentment in sin.

  43. 1 The word of the Lord which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

This is shortly after David. Now you know a little more about the timing of when this was occurring..

  44. For they go up to their roofs and bow down to the sun, moon, and stars. They claim to follow the Lord , but then they worship Molech, too.
    Zephaniah 1:5 NLT

The Lord wants full worship. No half or shared devotion will do. Just like any relationship it must be exclusive. The Lord wants our full heart and love. Just like we would expect it of the one who loves us.

  45. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord‘s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

He is a jealous God. This world has made a god out of money. They die for it, and sacrifice for it and do foolish things for it. Although you have to have money to make it in this world, it cannot become a god yo you. The love of money is the root of all evil. It cannot save you, and it cannot hide you from the truth.

  46. 6 And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the LORD’s guidance or seek my blessings.”

This fits the definition for a ‘back slider’. Once you had a relationship with God, praise him and seek his guidance. But now, you have turned your back on God, and you’ll face the consequences.

Great verse to contradict the saying of “once saved always saved”. Many believe in this concept, but no scripture can be found.
