Zechariah 8

Again the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.

Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.

And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the Lord of hosts.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.

10 For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.

11 But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the Lord of hosts.

12 For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.

13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.

14 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord of hosts, and I repented not:

15 So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.

16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:

17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

18 And the word of the Lord of hosts came unto me, saying,

19 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

20 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:

21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.

22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lordof hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.

23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

  1. And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord , and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.
    Zechariah 8:21 KJV

When trials surprise and come my wayl,
Lord, let me learn to speedily pray.
And when life somehow goes madly astray,
Then teach me, Lord, on my knees to stay.
When tears fall heavy like the rain,
And no words I utter can describe my pain,
I’ll tarry not in the valley of despair
But take it speedily to You in prayer.

There is no solice like our God
Who painful days Himself has trod.
He knows our weakness and our tears.
He knows how best to calm our fears.
Life has a way of bringing low,
Of beating down and changing slow.
But I will stand and soundly declare
That answers come as a result of prayer.

  2. Verse 13 NLT “Among the other nations, Judah and Israel became symbols of a cursed nation. But no longer! Now I will rescue you and make you both a symbol and a source of blessing. So don’t be afraid. Be strong, and get on with rebuilding the Temple!” Verses 15-17 NLT “But now I am determined to bless Jerusalem and the people of Judah. So don’t be afraid. But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace. Don’t scheme against each other. Stop your love of telling lies that you swear are the truth. I hate all these things, says the Lord.” Verses 20-21 NLT “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: People from nations and cities around the world will travel to Jerusalem. The people of one city will say to the people of another, ‘Come with us to Jerusalem to ask the Lord to bless us. Let’s worship the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. I’m determined to go.’ In these verses it says “so don’t be afraid”…..2 Timothy 1:7 NLT says “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline”; so, let us be determined to pray, seek and go.

  3. 19 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
20 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:

Righteousness can be broken down very simply into loving peace and loving the truth and living by it. We are not expects it to live without sin because the very nature that we inherited when we are born but we are expected to live in righteousness with repentance from a sinful life. If we are in love with peace and truly loving the truth then righteousness is a fruit that we will bear.

  4. 22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lordof hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.

23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

Lord may our region of Fort Worth come running in the same way and may we POFW be prepare to bring every single one to you. Help us strengthen our hems so it won’t rip as they hang on to our skirts. Let our hearts be soft to understand and full of love so we may not judge. In Jesus Name Amen

  5. 12 For the seed shall be prosperous, the vine shall give it’s fruit, the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew, I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these.

  6. 16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

Be a good neighbor. Speak truth, spread the gospel.

  7. 16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

  8. 21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.

22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lordof hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.

Lord, I pray that we strive to make this a goal,. Not because of strife and struggles but because of a desire to be close and commune with You. Lord, we love You. Guide our prayers and our steps as we continue to seek Your face. THY KINGDOM COME

  9. 21. And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.

    Psalm 122:1
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.

  10. 22. Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.

    23. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

This reminded me of the prophecy that went out over POFW, that many would begin to come for their miracles/healing because they heard of the great things God is doing among us.

  11. THY KINGDOM COME
    ITS COMING

21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.
22 Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lordof hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.
23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

This passage is prophetic conformation of what we seek today.

    Thy KINGDOM Come

The anointing, power and favor of JESUS drawing PEOPLE from everywhere to seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD. People coming from all corners of the Region of Fort Worth, saying, “we have heard that JESUS is with you”.

This is my prayer today is that we are committed to Seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD that others will recognize our quest and desire for HIM. That our Love and Lifestyle will demonstrate HIS incredible FAVOR on HIS people.

Lets accept this word today as foundation and proof of the ability of JESUS to draw people to himself through himself; his body (the Church).

Notice when the people came to seek the Lord they recognized that HE was with the Jews and the people desired to go with them.

    Seek the LORD today.

  12. 21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.

This verse reminds me that his house shall be called the house of prayer. This verse declares of how people from multiple cities will willing come together for prayer. Just speaking to me about the importance of attending prayer meetings at church, where the inhabitants of multiple cities coming to pray

  13. Zechariah 8:16 & 17
    16 These are
the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

  14. Zachariah 8
9 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Now hear these words, ‘Let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built.’ This is also what the prophets said who were present when the foundation was laid for the house of the Lord Almighty.

    Psalms 89:13
    New American Standard Bible
You have a strong arm; Your hand is mighty, Your right hand is exalted.

    Nehemiah 6:9
    New International Version
They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”

I will not be afraid for I will hold to Your Gand and You will Strengthen My Hands

My dads hands were large and calloused. He had a few scars on his hands from the work he had done throughout his life. On the other hand no pun intended my husband ‘s Hand were totally opposite they were smooth and one would think his hands had never worked a day in their life. Yet his hands too held scars from the work he had done, his scars were internal. Both men will tell me how their hands would hurt or go numb as the years went on. Dads hands a carpenter . My husband s a window washer from high rise apartments to the glass panes of local businesses. Each man their own work. I watched how these two men both worked for the Kingdom when God shifted both into their ministry. Dad s calloused and Michaels smooth hands. God took their hands and used them to build up the Kingdom. They would talk from time to Michael with his strategy of how it could be done and Dad with the ok let’s get it done.. Daddy fast pace Michael a much slower pace. But together when opportunity cane around using their hands whether to do something in the natural or turn the pages of the Bible to instruct. Their hands remained strong and their hearts determined to keep about the work of God. I watched as both men were leaving this world to go to their rewards in Heaven. Even as both were dying their hands weakened but still at work. Daddy’s hands moving fast saying he needed to finish his work and my husbands hand reaching for his phone with weakened hands to pray over a friend who too had been struck with an illness . No we cannot be afraid our hands will be too weak to finish the work God has called us too.
I held both of those men’s hands and what a legacy they both left engraved in my heart and mind. Now I must keep my hands holding to the Almighty s hands. His too are scarred with nail prints and they are strong enough to keep us right on task to finish the work He has set before us.

Now Lord I pray strengthen my hands to finish the work You have called me too. Let every thing be
for Your glory. For building Your Kingdom in Jesus name. What ever it may be use my hands to build up your Kingdom. In Jesus name.

The scripture says they were afraid the hands would become to weak for the work.

  15. 21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.

This says revival and harvest to me! The Lord is raising up people today seeking him for salvation, healing, deliverance…and we must be ready to point them to this truth that we know so that they can find him. Let His Kingdom Come

  16. 16 But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace. NLT

Ephesians 4:25 “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.”

It’s unfortunate that in this day and time some people feel that it is better to lie and cover their faults up than, to be honest. To make it worse they are deceived in believing they can lie to themselves and Heavenly Father.

When we become honest with ourselves and Jesus, we will naturally become honest with those around us. We don’t desire to be deceitful and manipulative when we are already transparent with the Creator.

  17. 16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:

There’s something about people that have the persona of “peace.” We are instructed in the word of God in Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Not everyone has the ability to speak peace, or bring peace with them into a situation, but those that have been blessed with the gift of peace, can minister effectively to many people that others can’t. Some people bring the spirit of confusion or contention everywhere they go. This is not an attribute of the Lord. Let us strive to walk in “peace”, and live in “peace.”

Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Today I choose PEACE

  18. iLove the Kingdom

15 So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

There are certain things we “MUST” do in order to receive the blessings of God. These things are non-negotiable with God for the simple fact that the Word says, God hates it. Let’s use a modern day example. Let’s say Lil Pookie lies to you. Let’s say you know the truth and all Lil Pookie has to do is spill the beans and everything will be ok. Lil Pookie refuses to tell the truth and you reward him by taking him to the ice cream parlor. Come on how crazy does that sound. Well, in order to receive the good blessings of the Lord, we must do those things that make him happy and refuse to do those things that He hates.

  19. “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: All this may seem impossible to you now, a small remnant of God’s people. But is it impossible for me? says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: You can be sure that I will rescue my people from the east and from the west. I will bring them home again to live safely in Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be faithful and just toward them as their God. But now I am determined to bless Jerusalem and the people of Judah. So don’t be afraid.
    Zechariah 8:6‭-‬8‭, ‬15 NLT
My GOD is the possibl GOD are things are possible though him nothing is impossible for him you see here in today chapter that the people were separated because their ancestors sin but GOD call them home he telling to finish building the temple and blessings will rain down this tell me you not to broken it doesn’t matter what your did yesterday or in the pass for his mercy is new every day God is calling the lost home and the backside home
The church is not done building until we reach the city of Fort Worth 🏢🌇🏙️
    Let his kingdom come

  20. 21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.
What an awesome attitude toward prayer. Let us go speedily, quickly, urgently and fervently to pray BEFORE the Lord. We are not telling Him what to do but laying our burdens BEFORE Him and casting our cares upon Him. We are also seeking him, searching for, waiting on and spending time with Him so we can get to know Him better.

  21. 13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.

In order to reach this city and area for Jesus, we have to cast all fear to the side and be strong, in the Word, and in deed, in prayer, and in praise. Remember He inhabits the prasies of His people, and as He is lifted up He draws all men unto himself, as we ARE living epistles read of all men.

  22. I Love To Worship The Lord
    vs 17
Dont plot harm to others dont swear something is true when it isn t! How i hate all that sort of thing says the Lord

  23. Zechariah 8:16 (English Amp) These are the things that you shall do; speak every man the truth with his neighbor; render the truth and pronounce the judgement or verdict that makes for peace in [ the courts at] your gates. [Ephesians 4:25] Therefore, rejecting all falsify and being done now with it, Let everyone express the truth with his neighbor, for we are all parts of one body and members one of another. There are some people always fighting with one another , putting the blame on someone else. We are to make peace with each other instead of fighting with each other. When we get angry we are sinning, do not ever let our wrath [ your exasperation, your fury or indignation] lasts until the sun goes does, Dont even leave no room or foothold for the devil to give him a opportunity to him. Go to God in prayer ask for forgivess , Make peace with each other. Love and pray for one another. Thank you Jesus for your Peace and Love and Joy of the Holy Ghost.

  24. Zechariah 8:19 (the Voice)
“From now on, the fasting times of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months will be happy occasions and times of celebration for the people of Judah. So you should love truth and pursue peace.

You should Love Truth and Pursue Peace…
Proverbs 23:23, “Buy the Truth, and sell it not…”
Psalms 34:14, “…; seek Peace, and pursue it.”

  25. 9-12 A Message from God-of-the-Angel-Armies: “Get a grip on things. Hold tight, you who are listening to what I say through the preaching of the prophets. The Temple of God-of-the-Angel-Armies has been reestablished. The Temple is being rebuilt. We’ve come through a hard time: You worked for a pittance and were lucky to get that; the streets were dangerous; you could never let down your guard; I had turned the world into an armed camp. “But things have changed. I’m taking the side of my core of surviving people: Sowing and harvesting will resume, Vines will grow grapes, Gardens will flourish, Dew and rain will make everything green.

Grab hold of every word he says and never let go! We stand on his word of promises and we must not forget what we can be expecting! Revival and harvest in this city! I can hear the rain coming, feel the fire burning and spreading, and see his revelation and salvation being found by the lost!

  26. 2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.
3 Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain.
4 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.

Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord!

  27. 21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also.

For one person to the next we will all pary together in unity. No matyer where you are from the body of Christ is strong, and united.

  28. v21 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another. Saying. Let us go speedily ri pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.

The more we reach to HIM, the more HE reaches to us.

  29. Faith in action

13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.

Let your hands be strong. God is expecting us to do something, our part of you will. Faith without works is dead. Basically if you are not willing to get up and do something about what you say you believe in, the Bible says that you really don’t believe in it. God is telling us to get ready to work. The fields are white already to harvest and it is our time to put in the sickle. Let your hands be strong to put your faith in action.

  30. 23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

  31. 23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.

The last part of the verse really caught my attention. We have heard that God is with you. Having studied marketing in college, there is a term called buzz and word of mouth. This is a very cheap, inexpensive and yet very effective way to make a brand and or product known. It’s what you say that catches the people’s attention. You sell the sizzle not the stake. In other words, if we could put this to a kingdom perspective the best way to get someone to know about our God is to tell them! Let them know the hype! Tell how Sunday night service gets and how God answers in the middle of praise and worship. Tell them the prayers answered, tell them what God has done for you. Our greatest witnessing tool is our testimony. The power of our testimony is the power that others need to be set free. Remember that the Word says that they overcame them by the blood of the lamb and the Word of their testimony. We need to share what God is doing. Not to get frustrated and distracted with our situations but allow them to be an opportunity for God to show his glory in an answered prayer. Then. Tell the world what Jesus has done!

  32. Again the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

6 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the Lord of hosts.

    7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;

8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousnes

The sins of Zion were her worst enemies. God will take away her sins, and then no other enemies shall hurt her. Those who profess religion must adorn their profession by godliness and honesty. When become a city of truth and a mountain of holiness, Jerusalem is peaceable and prosperous. Zechariah 8:4, Zechariah 8:5, beautifully describe a state of great outward peace, attended with plenty, temperance, and contentment. The scattered Israelites shall be brought together from all parts. God will never leave nor forsake them in a way of mercy, for this he has promised them; and they shall never leave nor forsake him in a way of duty, as they have promised him. These promises were partly fulfilled in the Jewish church, betwixt the captivity and the time of Christ’s coming; and they had fuller accomplishment in the gospel church; but the full import must be as to the future times of the Christian church, or the future restoration of the Jews. With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible; so far are God’s thoughts and ways above ours. In the present low state of vital godliness, we can hardly conceive that so complete a change can be made; but a change thus extensive and glorious, can be brought to pass by the almighty power of the new-creating Spirit, in less time than he was pleased to employ in creating the world. Let the hands of all who labour in the cause of the gospel be strong, serving the Lord in true holiness, assured that their labour shall not be in vain.

  33. From truth to righteousness

8And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

I wondered why it said “in truth and in righteousness” the reality is that any fact that we deem truth has to originate from a truth or in this case “the truth.” The Bible says that Jesus is the way “truth” and life. The spiritual truth that He is our God is sealed but our obedience to the truth of His word. We are His people because we have His nature and are walking in righteousness or right standing with the truths of His Word.

  34. 20 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, 21 and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the Lord and seek the Lord Almighty. I myself am going.’ 22 And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the Lord Almighty and to entreat him.”

This is happening now!!! GOD IS AN ON TIME GOD!!! HE HAS THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS. …….

  35. 17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord.

Out of the substance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So if we imagine evil against our neighbors then our heart is already in sin. What we allow in our heart and love will affect our relationship with God and others.

  36. “Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭8:4-5

This is who God cares abouT. God cares for the old and the young. He cares for boy and girls. There is not just one type of person that God wants in heaven. It’s diversity.

  37. 4“This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Once again old men and women will walk Jerusalem’s streets with their canes and will sit together in the city squares. 5And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls at play.

One day, old men/women and young boys/girls will be walking the streets of gold. We’ll be all be rejoicing in heaven!
