Zechariah 11

Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.

There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.

Thus saith the Lord my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.

And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.

10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord.

12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

14 Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

15 And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

  1. 15 And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

When God is so merciful but you take it for granted so when he puts something in your life to wake you up you realize you have done so wrong and you don’t know how to untangle yourself from those same foolish devices .

  2. 6 For I will no longer pity the inhabitants of the land, says the Lord, but indeed I will give everyone into his neighbor’s hand and into the hand of his king. They shall attack the land and I will not deliver them from their hand.

  3. 15 And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
GOD mercy is not to be taking for granted
Even GOD gets sick of try of things
Why would you want to go back why would you want to when God mercy cover you there . Thanks you JESUS for you mercy I standing here only because of your mercy

  4. 15 And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.

God is willing to go to any extreme to get his children to wake up even if that means sending them someone do more harm than good but I praise God that he has sent us a shepherd and that leads us in the fear of God to prevent us from going down that road. One thing I’ve learned out of life is not to take the things that God has blessed me with for granted. And also to be thankful when God uses tactics that are painful to get my attention, because of his love.

  5. Zechariah 11-17 (English Amp) Woe To the worthless and foolish shepherd who deserts the flock! The sword shall smite his arm and his right eye; and his right eye utterly blinded. [ Jer. 23:1] Woe to the shepherds ( the civil leaders) who destory and scatter the sheep of My pasturing ! says the Lord. The thief only comes in order to steal and kill and destroy. We must keep our pastor close to us. A good Shepard risks and lays down his own life for the sheep. I must bring and impel those also; listen to God voice and heel his call. Jesus says I am the door; That anyone who enters in through Me will be saved ( will live) . Please be careful who you are listen to and following ! Lord helps us to be good Shepard like you.

  6. iLove the Kingdom, the Sheep, and the Staff Called Beauty

“And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.”

Wow, it was Judas who sold the Shepherd for 30 pieces of silver. Very convicting blog this morning. We must not sell out Jesus but we must let him be the shepherd our lives.

  7. 17. Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

Lord, help me to not be a shepherd that leaves his flock – a leader with no vision and no power; in Jesus Name, amen!

    • 17. Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
The Shepherd should be sober and vigilant constantly keeping a watchful eye over the people of God. Lord help us not to be blinded by this world and it’s entertainment but help us to be focused on your flock.

  8. 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear.

Matt 26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that God looks at that price as an insult in Zachariah but it’s the price they pay for Christ in Matthew. What value do we place for our Salvation, or the Gospel?? How many shepherds do you see today that all they care is for the mighty dollar. You see them with a congregation that sacrifice but they are walking around looking like Mr T ? Are we seeing the signs of our Lord return and the warnings of Zachariah!

Matt 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

  9. Josiah: 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
Jesus was sold for thirty pieces of silver yet my Bible says in Psalms 119:72 “The law of the mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.” My Bible also says that “the Word was God”.
God’s value does not have a price tag. To get closer to God though we have to invest time doing things like prayer, fasting, studying and more. So, let us GO INVEST INTO the Kingdom of God!

  10. Then the Lord said to me, “Go again and play the part of a worthless shepherd. This illustrates how I will give this nation a shepherd who will not care for those who are dying, nor look after the young, nor heal the injured, nor feed the healthy. Instead, this shepherd will eat the meat of the fattest sheep and tear off their hooves. “What sorrow awaits this worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword will cut his arm and pierce his right eye. His arm will become useless, and his right eye completely blind.”
    Zechariah 11:15‭-‬17

Thank the Lord that this is not so at POFW!!!

We are truly BLESSED to have a pastor that labors in The KINGDOM of GOD. A man of prayer, one whom preaches truth, one in who fast weekly, always loving and caring for the lost and the flock.
Thank you Pastor and Sis. Watts for never giving up on the Garcia family through our darkest days. But instead you LOVED, led, guided, gave, and prayed for us❤ I am forever grateful!!!

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

  11. 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

No price is worth sacrificing this precious truth. Nothing has ever nor will ever compare.

  12. Zechariah 11:3-5
3 There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
    4 Thus saith the Lord my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
5 Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.

  13. Verses 4-17 in the MEV is captioned “Two Kinds of Shepherds”. You have your anointed; but, then there are the wicked, self-appointed and self-interested shepherds. We must be careful who we are following and listening to.

1 Peter 2:25 NLT “Once you were like sheep who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd, the Guardian of your souls.”

1 Peter 5:2 NLT “Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.” Same verse MSG plus verses 1 and 3 “I have a special concern for you church leaders. I know what it’s like to be a leader, in on Christ’s sufferings as well as the coming glory. Here’s my concern: that you care for God’s flock with all the diligence of a shepherd. Not because you have to, but because you want to please God. Not calculating what you can get out of it, but acting spontaneously. Not bossily telling others what to do, but tenderly showing them the way.”

  14. 13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself. After some discussion they finally decided to buy the potter’s field, and they made it into a cemetery for foreigners. That is why the field is still called the Field of Blood. This fulfilled the prophecy of Jeremiah that says, “They took the thirty pieces of silver— the price at which he was valued by the people of Israel, and purchased the potter’s field, as the Lord directed. ”
    Matthew 27:5‭, ‬7‭-‬10 NLT

    Prophesy revealed in new testament!
Jesus thank you for the fullness of Your Word!!!

  15. Zechariah 11
7-8 So I took over from the crass, money-grubbing owners, and shepherded the sheep marked for slaughter. I got myself two shepherd staffs. I named one Lovely and the other Harmony. Then I went to work shepherding the sheep. Within a month I got rid of the corrupt shepherds. I got tired of putting up with them—and they couldn’t stand me.

The heart of a true Shepherd
With love He found me and put His arms around me.
Love and Harmony brings such a beautiful melody. The Shepherd cared so much he removed the shepherds who had no love or care for the sheepfold. There is a God who loves us He leads ever so gently yet with a secure authority that He will keep us in alignment . Help me to lead with your heart Lord one with compassion Love and Harmony so that You will be glorified in Jesus name.

  16. 8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

It is best not to be that which the Lord hates, for when the day of reckoning comes it will not be pleasant.

    Zechariah 11:15‭-‬17 NLT

The right arm symbolizes power, and the right eye symbolizes vision. A good shepherd will have both power with God and godly vision so that he can effectively lead and protect God’s people. However, when a shepherd decides to put self and the desires of the flesh above the flock, he loses his power and vision and becomes worthless. This is true whether that shepherd be over a nation, a church, a ministry, or a family.

One cannot effectively lead people he does not love enough to sacrifice for. Neither can he weild God’s power while despising His Holiness. If the primary focus in life is to please or advance self, then his godly influence will be cut off and his vision will become tainted and darkened by sin and self-justification. Worse yet, those whom he was meant to lead will lose hope and direction.

The mark of a true man of God is his love for God and others–the kind of love that gives himself for the flock and for the work of the Kingdom.

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
    Matthew 6:22‭-‬23 KJV

  18. 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

  19. This is what the Lord my God says. “Go and care for the flock that is intended for Slaughter. The buyers slaughter their sheep without remorse. The sellers say ‘praise the Lord! now I am rich! ‘Even the Shepherds have no compassion for them.
    Zachariah 11:4,5 NLT

this world and his kingdom is enlarging, sin is been promoted to be right , what used to be good now is bad. But we know better, the church now more than ever has to shine and had compassion over the loss souls.

  20. 4 This is what the Lord my God says: “Go and care for the flock that is intended for slaughter. (NLT)

We’re all part of this flock; even if you’re called to watch over a flock, you’re still part of a flock and at some point were intended for slaughter. God says to go care for the flock intended for slaughter, not the perfect flock from a perfect field.

I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Luke 5:32)

I thank God He came for us sinners! He came as the perfect lamb to save the flock that deserves to be slaughtered. Thank You Jesus!

But we also still have a commission to go and care for His people. This world is pending destruction and Jesus can save them if we go and care for them, love them, teach them, guide them – show them Jesus!!

  21. “This is what the Lord my God says: “Shepherd the flock marked for slaughter. Their buyers slaughter them and go unpunished. Those who sell them say, ‘Praise the Lord, I am rich!’ Their own shepherds do not spare them.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭11:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Why does the shepherd have the flock?

Is the purpose of the flock to eat them? Why are they there? Sheep can bring meat, but they also bring wool and companionship. People who are considered sheep bring loyalty and help. They reproduce and bring more sheep. If the shepherd only slaughters the sheep and eats the slaughter there is not a reason for a flock. The flock will find this out as they are torn down by words and actions, eaten up by malicious thoughts. As shepherd (friends and leaders) we need to evaluate how we are treating the flock (those we help). Don’t devour them, but rather narture them and grow them in the Lord.

  22. 16 This illustrates how I will give this nation a shepherd who will not care for those who are dying, nor look after the young, nor heal the injured, nor feed the healthy. Instead, this shepherd will eat the meat of the fattest sheep and tear off their hooves.

Matthew 18:12-13 “How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.”

Here are two examples of different shepherds.

1.) Will not care for those who are dying, nor look after the young, nor heal the injured

2.) Will leave his flock of Ninety-nine to save one who has wandered astray

I know which shepherd we deserve to watch over us, however, we are blessed beyond measure by a shepherd that would leave the ninety-nine for just the one.

I know it can be hard at times to comprehend just how much Jesus truly loves us. That it really is an overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love. A love we couldn’t earn, and surely don’t deserve.

During times I wasn’t even thinking about Him, He was chasing after me.

We should desire to be as the shepherd in Matt 18.
A shepherd with a reckless love for God and His Kingdom, not a reckless spirit!

  23. 17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

Quitting comes easy to some and others ignore the meaning of the word. I believe most of the population lie somewhere in the middle. We can trudge through the swamps of despair when needed and stroll along the peaks with ease. To me, this is the ebb and flow of life. It is when we get stuck in the mire for what we believe is too long that thoughts of quitting can creep in. For those in leadership, we must keep in mind those who are depending on us and watching how we respond to the ebb and flow of life.

Some might say; it is not about them – it is about me and my salvation. There is truth in the statement but those in leadership have taken on responsibility to those they are leading. Shepherds are responsible for those who depend on them. Of course, people become weary in well‑doing. A shepherd must fight the good fight of faith and finish the course. This requires commitment and persistence. We must persist; only then will we one day hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness” (Matthew 25:21). Those words from the Lord will make our persistence iwell worth all the blood, sweat, toil, and tears.

  24. “This is what the Lord my God says: “Go and care for the flock that is intended for slaughter.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Go and care for the ones the world would put the label “hopeless” on. Go and care for the ones that can’t even find the strength to love themselves. Care for the broken, the lost, the hurting, the confused, the ones that have been bound up by addictions and the weight of this world.
At one point in our life we might all have been apart of the “flock intended for slaughter” apart of the flock the devil thought he had. But because God left the ninety-nine to chase after us, we stand here as a new people, changed and blessed by the favor of God. And if we don’t take that to the rest of the hurting people, to everyone else we were once like, then shame on us.
Go and care for this lost and dying world!

“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  25. AMP 7 So I [Zechariah] pastured the flock doomed for slaughter, truly [as the name implies] the most miserable of sheep. And I took two [shepherd’s] staffs, the one I called Favor (Grace) and the other I called Union (Bonds); so I pastured the flock. 8 Then I eliminated the three [incompetent, unfit] shepherds [the civil rulers, the priests, and the prophets] in one month, for I was impatient with them, and they also were tired of me and despised me. 9 So I said, “I will not pasture you. What is to die, let it die, and what is to be destroyed, let it be destroyed; and let the survivors devour one another’s flesh.” 10 I took my staff, Favor, and broke it in pieces, breaking the covenant which I had made with all the peoples. 11 So the covenant was broken on that day, and thus the most wretched of the flock who were watching me realized that it was the word of the Lord. 12 I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, do not.” So they weighed out [a]thirty pieces of silver as my wages

What an assignment to be given a flock that is already doomed for death. Just like us, we were doomed for death, but the staff of mercy/grace was extended to us at Calvary, and not just us, but whosoever will come.

  26. Likewise, I will no longer have pity on the people of the land,” says the Lord . “I will let them fall into each other’s hands and into the hands of their king. They will turn the land into a wilderness, and I will not rescue them.”
    Zechariah 11:6 NLT
Sometimes it’s not the enemy that is attacking us as much as it is God removing his protection from
us. In this case you let them fall into each other’s hands and history says they did that under the Roman siege in 70 AD. Nevertheless, we understand that is why we fear the Lord and not the enemy because God is Lord over all. I create the light and make the darkness. I send good times and bad times. I, the Lord , am the one who does these things.
    Isaiah 45:7 NLT

  27. 11:9 Then said I, will not feed you: that that Firth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; let the rest eat every one the flesh of another..
——— thank God that not the case in Pofw, thanks be to God we have a Pastor, yes a real Pastor who cares for his sheep, one who knows what it means to be unders submission, one who who loves God and cares for the living soul of humanity.
Mercy has triumph!! Thank you Lord.

  28. 16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

WE all need a shepherd. Thank you Jesus that he has placed one of His best in out pasture. Thank you Pastor Watts, for your commitment to the Gospel, and to the community, and to each of us.

  29. THY KINGDOM COME
    THE GOOD SHEPHERD

12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

    JESUS is THE GOOD SHEPHERD.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

JESUS gives HOPE to the hopeless. Because HE is THE GOOD SHEPHERD he cannot be bought or sold. In this chapter of Zechariah we witness the prophetic type and shadow of the betrayal of JESUS.

Matthew 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
:4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD didn’t condemn Judas, THE GOOD SHEPHERD convicted Judas and he condemned himself.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD cannot be bought or sold, in fact treasury or currency has no effect on HIM, it only affects us. With either pride through selfish disobedience or blessing through willing generosity and obedience to HIS WORD and HIS VOICE.

  30. We read this passage and our first thought may be shame upon us if this should ever be spoken of the church today… but pay close attention to his words. ‘And the LORD said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd. For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.’

The pastor may be the spiritual shepherd of the church, but the church is the ministering body to the lost of this world and we have a very similar role in reaching out to their souls. If we walk on by, if our hearts are not troubled, if we’re able to ignore their plight as long as we’re doing well, the words against the shepherd could well be spoken of us. God said ‘Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.’

That burden for the lost has to be the heartbeat of God’s people! Our prayers should be spoken in travail for those whose lives are still bound in sin. Just as that old time hymn declared, there but for the grace of God go I. Let our burden be such that his love would truly be known!

  31. Zechariah 11:15-17 (AMP)
    15) The LORD said to me, Take again for yourself the equipment (of a shepherd, but this time) of a foolish shepherd.
    16) For behold, I am going to raise up a (false) shepherd in the land who will not care for the perishing, seek the scattered, heal the broken, or feed the healthy; but will eat the flesh of the fat ones and tear off the hoofs (to consume everything).
    17) Woe (judgment is coming) to the worthless and foolish shepherd who deserts the flock! The sword will strike his arm and his right eye! His arm shall be totally withered and his right eye completely blinded.

JESUS is the good shepherd who gave His life for the sheep (us). (St. John 10:11).
He cares for us; He seeks for the lost; He heals the broken and binds their wounds; and He feeds us with His Word (He is the Word and the Bread of Life). He also tells us that He will never leave us, nor forsake us. (Now that’s a GOOD SHEPHERD)!

  32. 16 For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.

17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

  33. Jesus loves us. We must turn
to Him not only in times of
trouble, but also in times of
    blessings. Jesus loves us.

  34. 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

    Hold your own.
The Bible says the love of money is the root of all evil. The enemy will use anything he can get his hands on. Don’t ever let the things of this world rule you.
Hold your own and stand up for the truth!

Praise the Lord, We’re Getting Rich

“Praise the Lord , we’re gettin rich” is not a phrase that you would typically hear a true follower of Christ say. Possibly, “Praise the Lord we are bless,” but a true Christian will not boast in his riches.

“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In the days of super preachers who travel the county in $60 million jets, it is harder and harder to find a good shepherd. Good shepherds should be blessed by their sheep and well taken care of, no doubt. There is a line that you can cross that turns what would be new believers away instead of drawing them in, and God hates that.

  36. 12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.

Nothing will ever be worth not showing te world who God is go and reach souls and let God work through you. We should not be ashamed of who we serve and what we believe.

  37. Zachary 11:17 Ay del pastor inútil que abandona el ganado! Hiera la espada su brazo,y su ojo derecho será enteramente oscurecido thank you Jesus for your help and support my life

  38. And I said to them, “If you like, give me my wages, whatever I am worth; but only if you want to.” So they counted out for my wages thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter ”—this magnificent sum at which they valued me! So I took the thirty coins and threw them to the potter in the Temple of the Lord .

The magnificent sum… this is the same sum by which Judas betrayed Jesus, the Good shepherd. Gave him the same value of a worthless shepherd according to this scripture. There might be a deeper meaning and revelation to this. I’m not sure what all this means. However, what I do get is that a good shepherd must have a staff of favor and unity. This might be something to pray about that God may give our shepherd instruments by which he can tend the sheep. We must find it in the Word and pray the Word for the Word is God’s will.

  39. “For indeed I will raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are cut off, nor seek the young, nor heal those that are broken, nor feed those that still stand. But he will eat the flesh of the fat and tear their hooves in pieces.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭11:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
A curse to those prosperity preachers. That only lead their flock lightly. We don’t need pastors that only mind their flock when the money is calling. I don’t need a feel good preacher. I need a Shepard that will hurt me if I need it. Break me down with scripture. That’s the Pastor that this world needs.

    I’m tankful for my Pastor.

  40. “This is what the Lord my God says: “Go and care for the flock that is intended for slaughter.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Take care of each other, we are all here for God’s kingdom, we are all a sacrifice. Made for the same thing.

  41. 17 Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

One thing I know is that Jesus will never leave us!! Why should we leave those that we are leading to God! We might not all have a “Pastor” title but we’re all guiding, taking care of, feeding (spiritually),loving someone that needs Jesus!! We’re all a sheapard to someone or many!!! We can’t give up on anyone or forget about anyone because the devil is roaring looking who to devour. We must fight for the souls that are weak, vulnerable, and fragile!! We must cover them in prayer and feed them!! Pastor can’t reach this city alone….he needs the whole body to ACT on the vision that God gave Him!!! #reachingthelost

  42. (MSG Version)

9 And then I got tired of the sheep and said, “I’ve had it with you—no more shepherding from me. If you die, you die; if you’re attacked, you’re attacked. Whoever survives can eat what’s left.”

10-11 Then I took the staff named Lovely and broke it across my knee, breaking the beautiful covenant I had made with all the peoples. In one stroke, both staff and covenant were broken. The money-hungry owners saw me do it and knew God was behind it.

12 Then I addressed them: “Pay me what you think I’m worth.” They paid me an insulting sum, counting out thirty silver coins.

13 God told me, “Throw it in the poor box.” This stingy wage was all they thought of me and my work! So I took the thirty silver coins and threw them into the poor box in God’s Temple.

14 Then I broke the other staff, Harmony, across my knee, breaking the concord between Judah and Israel.

15-16 God then said, “Dress up like a stupid shepherd. I’m going to install just such a shepherd in this land—a shepherd indifferent to victims, who ignores the lost, abandons the injured, and disdains decent citizens. He’ll only be in it for what he can get out of it, using and abusing any and all.

Zechariah did everything God told him to do. He threw the silver coins in the poor box and even dressed like a foolish shepherd. There will be times in our walk with God where Jesus will want us to do things that don’t seem to make sense to us. But we have to trust that He has a purpose for every big and small thing we go through in our lives.
God wants to glorify Himself the way He wants to. If we call ourselves His servants we will obey Him without question.

  43. “The Lord my God says, “Take care of the sheep that are set apart to be sacrificed. Those who buy them kill them. And they are not punished for it. Those who sell them say, ‘Praise the Lord! We’re rich!’ And their own shepherds do not spare them.”
    ‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭11:4-5‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

We have been anointed to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

“”Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Tell them, ‘The Lord and King says, “How terrible it will be for you shepherds of Israel! You only take care of yourselves. You should take good care of your flocks. Instead, you eat the butter. You dress yourselves with the wool. You kill the finest animals. But you do not take care of your flocks. You have not made the weak ones in the flock stronger. You have not healed the sick. You have not bandaged those that are hurt. You have not brought back those that have wandered away. You have not searched for the lost. When you ruled over them, you were mean to them. You treated them badly.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭34:2-4‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  44. 17“What sorrow awaits this worthless shepherd who abandons the flock!

Seems like our nation is falling into this now. The sorrow our nation will face when Jesus our shepherd is removed from public. Little by little, we are being led by unrighteous men who are taking us farther away from God. We have to stand up, and stay with Jesus who will guard us.

  45. I’m not sure what’s worse the bad shepherds or the doomed flock. God grows impatient with the flock and tells them He will no longer shepherd them. If the sheep were already lost then they will remain lost into death. Thank God we have a shepherd who will tell us the Word of God and watch after our soul that we not die lost.

  46. 4 Thus saith the Lord my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;

Ones actions do affect the ones that surround us……
