Matthew 15

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?

17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.

24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.

27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.

28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?

34 And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.

35 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.

36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

37 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.

38 And they that did eat were four thousand men, beside women and children.

39 And he sent away the multitude, and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala.

  1. And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
    Matthew 15:36‭-‬37 KJV

Jesus gave to His disciples, and His disciples gave to the people. Jesus worked a miracle and used His disciples to distribute that miracle to others. One divine man used twelve committed men to feed 5,000 hungry men. What might He do through a church full of committed men in a hungry city? If God is going to show compassion on the people of Fort Worth, He is going to do it through disciples who are willing to be His hands and feet.

  2. 36 And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

    GOD is of order……..

  3. 10 When He had called the multitudes to Himself, He said to them, hear and understand, not what goes into the mouth defiled a man, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiled a man.

  4. Verse 28 AMP “Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, your faith [your personal trust and confidence in My power] is great; it will be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that moment.” Same verse MSG “Jesus gave in. “Oh, woman, your faith is something else. What you want is what you get!” Right then her daughter became well.” That’s what I want….”Something else kinda FAITH”.

Thank you Jesus for last night and thank you for all 130 something plus children (and counting)that will always remember that they received the Holy Ghost and were baptized in Jesus’ name at Shipwrecked VBS 2018. What you want is what you get…..Unity is Powerful. POFW “Just keep doing IT”.

  5. 17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

We MUST be really careful of what we say. Since the Holy Ghost lives in us only life and positive things should come out of our mouth. The world around us it’s watching, hearing, and anticipating our failure; therefore watch out, live a life that Glorifies our King of kings and Lord of Lord, Jesus. That everything we do and say reflects who we belong to. SPEAK LIFE!!!!

  6. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
    Matthew 15:26 KJV
Healing, deliverance & wholeness are all considered the children’s bread. Since we are His children, we should expect to receive healings, deliverance & wholeness. It’s part of the benefits of being in His family. We have been born into this privilege by His Spirit and given His name in baptism. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
    1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
    Romans 8:15 KJV
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
    Ephesians 3:14‭-‬15 KJV
    Bless the Lord , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
    Psalms 103:2‭-‬3 KJV

  7. Matthew 15:4 (English Amp) For God commanded, Honor your father and your mother, and He Who curses or reviles or speaks evil or abuses or treats improperly his father or mother, let him surely come to his end by death. [ Deut.5:16 ] Honer your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you In the land which the Lord your God gives you. You should forgive and love your father and mother and respect them no matter what they have done. Regard ( treat with honer, which as to do with obedience, and courtesy. So that your days may long in your life that Lord give you, Amen.God

  8. 10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Sometimes we spend so much time stressing out what we see rather than praying that God will filter these things control. While we can learn to sensor some things bye learning what where and see and stray away from that but we essentially do not have complete control over everything outside of us, rather it is a heart condition. the Bible here is telling us that it’s what we see and hear that goes into the stomach and it is destroyed, which passes by the heart, and it says that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh, most things are a heart condition. Rebellious, unrighteous anger, a filthy mouth, or anything that we are doing against God is coming from our heart. We need to learn how to guard our hearts with the breastplate of righteousness that we be not defiled buy these things, and that our hearts be pure

  9. 29. And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

    30. And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

Do we have compassion enough to take the needs of others up a mountain to Jesus, or do we tell them to just wait, maybe He will come to them later?

  10. 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

So important when it comes to the heart. We have to guard this thing, but remember before it gets to the heart it has to go through the mind. So we have to be careful what we watch, what we listen to it and what we do to help pass the time. Cause out of all those things if sin creeps in there it’s gonna make its way to the heart and the heart is what’s pumping everything through you. It’s like dropping that drink mix in a bottle of water….

  11. She replied, “That’s true, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their masters’ table.”
    Matthew 15:27 NLT

Even just a little bit of what’s left over will be more than enough. She knew the healing, delivering power of Jesus and she was prepared to push and fight and get all that she could for her family. We all have someone in our lives who needs the delivering power of the Lord. Are we willing to fight for them when they can’t fight for themselves? To pray and bring them before the Lord?

  12. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

  13. Matthew 15
    Message

    Determined Faith
26 He said, “It’s not right to take bread out of children’s mouths and throw it to dogs.”

27 She was quick: “You’re right, Master, but beggar dogs do get scraps from the master’s table.”

28 Jesus gave in. “Oh, woman, your faith is something else. What you want is what you get!” Right then her daughter became well.

The woman knew exactly what she wanted. Not only that she knew who Jesus was. Without hesitation she had an answer to His question. She was quick. She cane with a need and her faith unwavering got her exactly what she asked for. I believe she was so determined to see her daughter healed she would have had an answer for every question asked . Her faith enter beyond human reality and she received her answer ……..determined faith resulted in

  14. Matthew 15:16-20

  15. 15:23 but he answered her not a word,. And his disciples came and besought him , saying, send her away; for she criers after us.

  16. iLove the Kingdom
As I read this today, the light came on. Yep, the ole light in the attic. I always wondered why the disciples did not wash their hands before eating. Well, this morning as I read I got understanding first, then researched it to see if it was provably.

Ok, let’s think about this. The Jewish leadership of the day was a “higher class” of people who were trained by rabbis. They looked at Jesus with his rag tag disciples and could not believe Jesus did not teach them the “traditions” of the elders. Well, of course they would not understand something that was not even written in the Word. So, I did some research and it proved to be true. It wasn’t about personal hygiene, it was a man made tradition that Jesus refused to teach to his disciples because it was a tradition of man.

Traditionally, Jews are required to wash their hands and say a blessing before eating any meal that includes bread or matzah. The ritual, known as netilat yadayim, is typically done using a two-handled cup, but any vessel will do. There are various customs regarding how the water should be poured, but a common practice is to pour twice on the right hand followed by twice on the left (this is reversed for those who are left-handed). Hasidic custom is to pour three times on each hand.

After the washing, the following blessing is recited:

    בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה אַדָנָי אֱלהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעולָם אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָׁנוּ בְּמִצְותָיו וְצִוָּנוּ עַל נְטִילַת יָדַיִם

Baruch ata Adonai, Eloheinu Melech ha-olam, asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav vitzivanu al n’tilat yadayim.

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with Your commandments, and commanded us concerning the washing of the hands.

The tradition is unrelated to personal hygiene, and a person is still required to perform this ritual even if his or her hands are clean. It is also customary not to speak following the recitation of this blessing until reciting the blessing for bread and partaking of some.

    Origins of Netilat Yadayim
The tradition of netilat yadayim prior to eating bread originated with the rabbis of the Talmud . It derives from various practices concerning ritual impurity from when the ancient temple stood in Jerusalem. The priests who performed the temple rituals were given gifts of oil, wine and wheat that could be eaten only after ritual washing. For various reasons, the ancient rabbis extended this practice to all Jews before eating meals. Some sources suggest that the practice was instituted so the temple’s washing ritual would not be forgotten.

  17. 3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Jesus came at the command of His Father to “seek and save the lost.’ Time and time again He throws tradition to the wind to fulfill His purpose. He doesn’t let man’s traditions drawn out what He was sent to do. For man’s focus is earthly which will pass away and God’s focus is on the Kingdom which will last throughout time to eternity.

We must take note that what God has spoken is forever settled and it is up to us to make it happen without hesitation and without restraint.

Be Bold, Be Purposeful, Be Like Jesus!

  18. 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Some may beg to differ the unwashed hands haha but in all truth, unwashed hands isn’t gonna kill you or risk your eternity. What will though is your heart. Your heart is what God sees: every thought, intention, plan, etc. It all comes from our hearts, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. If it isn’t spiritually driven and Kingdom focused, the Bible says it’s worthless/without purpose (Psalm 94:11). Get in line with His word, pray daily, and above all else, guard your heart.

  19. St. Matthew 15:18, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.”

Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

  20. Plain English: What’s in your heart?
16-20 Jesus replied, “You, too? Are you being willfully stupid? Don’t you know that anything that is swallowed works its way through the intestines and is finally defecated? But what comes out of the mouth gets its start in the heart. It’s from the heart that we vomit up evil arguments, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, lies, and cussing. That’s what pollutes.

  21. 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man

The mind is where the battle is and satan can flood the mind with thoughts that may not be our own. But we can put on the armor of God and the helmet of salvation and the breastplate of righteousness protects if we use them. We must learn to recognize ungodly or negative thoughts and turn them away by declaring Gods protection and turning the shield of faith and the sword of the spirit on the enemy.

  22. She replied, “That’s truth, Lord, but even dogs are allowed to eat the scraps that fall beneath their master’s tabll.” “Dear Woman,” Jesus Said to her, “your fate is great. Your request is grounded.” And her daughter was instantly healed.
    Matthew 15:27,28 NLT

Notice the perseverance of the women she did not care what other people might think or say about her. She was determined to persuade Jesus. I think about how many times we are so concern about what other people might think about us. when we are desperate for healing or deliverance but we have pride in our hart that hold us back.

  23. Your stomach eats from the mouth. Your heart speaks through your mouth.

What you said the first time. Is what you really meant to say. There is no “oops”

Guard your heart because your life will flow from it. We have to know what we are putting in our hearts and souls. So our heart will speak peace and joy. Love and mercy. Not evil and sin.

  24. In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ ” Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “Listen,” he said, “and try to understand. It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.” But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.
    Matthew 15:6‭-‬11‭, ‬18‭-‬19 NLT
One of the Commandments are to love the Lord with all your heart with all your soul and with all your might
It speak about you mouth many time you mouth can be the difference between helping someone get save or destroying someone the power of live and death lies between your tongue👅 this what the Bible says about your tongue
They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their bitter words like arrows.
    Psalms 64:3 NLT
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
    Proverbs 18:21 NLT
There over 160 verse in the Bible that speak about the tongue 👅👅

  25. Jesus asked, “How much bread do you have?” They replied, “Seven loaves, and a few small fish.”
    Matthew 15:34 NLT
The LORD is always willing to multiply what you have when you give with a willing heart in obedience to His word!!

My income has been on hold for the past 6 weeks since school is out for the summer months. The A/C to my vehicle isn’t working correctly. My boss found out about it. And just yesterday she sent me a text( i never asked her for help) saying she is willing to pay for the diagnostic on the a/c $169.00 and also to help with the repair.
The days that i was working i would say ‘thank you Jesus for giving me work’ i wasn’t asking for a handout, i believe in working – and GOD did supplied and continues to.

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
    Luke 6:38 KJV
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 4:19 KJV

    ‘He never stops working ‘❤❤❤

  26. 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

We work hard to keep our outward appearances attractive, we put in time and effort to try and look good, but what’s in our hearts matter much more to God. So how much time and effort do we put into making sure our heart is good? How much time we do spend in prayer asking God to change our heart for the better? Whatever is in our heart will come through our thoughts and eveventually out of our mouth.
How much time we spend with God will be shown through what’s in our hearts, minds, and mouths!

  27. 30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

This verse doesn’t express a great faith or extravagant story.
They simply CAME to Jesus and He healed them.

Sometimes in our walk with God we like to overthink and complicate things. We must remember that we don’t always need an extravagant journey to get what we need from God, we simply need enough faith to go to Him in time of need.

  28. THY KINGDOM COME
    KINGDOM WORSHIP = KINGDOM FAITH

25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

There are 2 major Kingdom Principals evident in this passage.

    1. The woman, a Gentile; unworthy to WORSHIP, chose to WORSHIP JESUS anyway.
    2. The mother, a Gentile, spoke in FAITH for her daughter to be healed and JESUS heard, answered and responded.

JESUS called this Great FAITH, while Peter the disciple, walked on water and JESUS called it Little FAITH. JESUS would have absolutely done the same for Peter as HE did for the woman. Possibly those who walk with JESUS for a season, become less hungry, passionate and determined to for the things of GOD and therefore, miss opportunities to WORSHIP.

As we Seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD these 2 Kingdom Principals should be daily thoughts and concepts in our minds. KINGDOM WORSHIP = KINGDOM FAITH.

We don’t need the whole loaf, a simple crumb will do.

  29. We the people of God cannot afford for this testimony to be spoken of us today: ‘This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.’ The world needs to see that we walk the walk as well as we can talk the talk.

God is looking for people who desire to serve him with all of their heart. A sincerity in our love and devotion to him is needed to avoid settling for anything less than what God has prepared for this people. As men, we don’t create our own doctrine, we remain faithful to the doctrine that has been faithfully passed from generation to generation… because that doctrine was ordained and delivered to us by God alone! Anything else is the vain tradition of men in which there is no promise. So let us continue to stand on the promises of God and allow his light to shine purely into all the world! His doctrine will make a difference!

  30. 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

The pharisees were worried about the outward action – washing of the hands, while Jesus is looking on the heart. Too many people take this scripture so far out of context that it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside because Jesus looks on the heart and sees that you’re a christian. That is wrong on so many levels because the principle is taught over and over again, what is on the inside will manifest on the outside. Here the pharisees were taking it to the far opposite upset because of the hands but their heart was full of attitudes that are disgusting.

We must be careful not to judge those that are working on their heart issues, because their outside doesn’t look quite right yet. Give them time to grow from the inside out. Too many look right on the outside but on the inside they are just white washed seplucars full of stagment self.

The work of the spirit is a daily process and if we are sincere in our relationship with Him the evidence will not only be seen in our attitude and actions from the heart, but will be reveal in the areas of holiness before the Lord as well.

  31. I Love this this passage of Matthew, it just shows the heart of God he has mercy on all… And will answer your call as long as you have faith in him, and seek him. He is “All Things” That’s why I praise my KING!

  32. 11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Scripture interrupts scripture, with precept upon precept; line upon Line here a little, and there a little:

    So

Mat 12:36 – But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

  33. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

  34. 11It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.”

Be careful of what you say. Even words you don’t realize can be hurtful. Think before you speak.

  35. Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,

2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

    5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me;

6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Additions to God’s laws reflect upon his wisdom, as if he had left out something which was needed, and which man could supply; in one way or other they always lead men to disobey God. How thankful ought we to be for the written word of God! Never let us think that the religion of the Bible can be improved by any human addition, either in doctrine or practice. Our blessed Lord spoke of their traditions as inventions of their own, and pointed out one instance in which this was very clear, that of their transgressing the fifth commandment. When a parent’s wants called for assistance, they pleaded, that they had devoted to the temple all they could spare, even though they did not part with it, and therefore their parents must expect nothing from them. This was making the command of God of no effect. The doom of hypocrites is put in a little compass; “In vain do they worship me.” It will neither please God, nor profit themselves; they trust in vanity, and vanity will be their recompence.

  36. 8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

The apostolic doctrine is the only way. From repentance, baptism, and being filled with the Holy Ghost. This is the true and only way to live. Thank you Jesus for the truth.

  37. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

But he answered not a WORD.
It only takes one word from Jesus to make things happen. However how far is our words going towards him in prayer? Our persistence in prayer should be greater than how we may magnify the problem. Just a WORD from the one Who created the heavens and the earth and your situation, your world can be changed. Find it in the word, the bible, and pray the word over your situation. Continue to pray until Jesus speaks. Remember if he answer not a word continue to worship him yet the more and pray even still.

  38. 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Many people today claim to love Jesus, their fruit show differently. Many claim to teach truth, but their actions contradict the Bible.

Jesus said that if we love him then we will do what he said to do. Jesus tells us that we MUST BE born again, of water and spirit, or we CANNOT enter heaven. If we have not because we ask not? If we only ask Jesus to come into our hearts? If we only confess that He is our savior, we are TOTAL HYPOCRITES.

  39. 22….a woman of Canaan came
out of the same coasts, and
    cried unto him, saying, Have
mercy on me O Lord, thou
Son of David; my daughter is
    grievously vexed with a devil.
    23. But he answered her not a
    word. And his disciples came
    and besought him, saying,
Send her away; for she crieth
    after us.
    24. But he answered and said,
I am not sent but unto the
lost sheep of the house of
    Israel.
    25. Then came she and wor-
    shipped him, saying, Lord,
    help me.
    26. But he answered and said,
It is not meet to take the
    children’s bread, and to cast
    it to dogs.
    27. And she said, Truth, Lord:
yet the dogs eat of the crumbs
    which fall from their masters’
    table.
    28. Then Jesus answered and
said unto her, O woman, great
is thy faith: be it unto thee
even as thou wilt. And her
    daughter was made whole
    from that very hour.

    God knows everything, so
    Jesus knew everything. He
    knew the Syrophenician
    woman’s faith and gave her
    four chances to demonstrate
    it. And she persisted. Praise
be to God for the example
    of the Syrophenician woman!

  40. Sticking with it

32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

No doubt there were others in that time that were starving to death but Jesus didn’t say anything about them. In fact he didn’t heal everyone, just those that sought him out. In these last days it is going to be the same, stick with Jesus and he will stick with you. Those that followed Jesus got to eat.

  41. 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

You want to see what’s in a person’s heart? Talk to them, you’ll learn everything you need to know. God wants us to be good and faithful servants. To become this, one must guard their heart and guide it. It’s important we analyze ourselves daily through scripture and prayer. It’s the only way we’ll find out if we’re in God’s will and if we have anything in our lives He disapproves of.

  42. “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ ””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is not wanting lip service. He is looking for a true heart connection with His creation. He looking for a people that will seek Him and love Him with all there hearts, soul and might. It’s not 2/3 or 1/3 but 100%.

“You can have no part in this, for your heart is not right with God.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭8:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  43. 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

It’s one thing to talk the talk, however, it’s another to actually walk the walk. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. The only way to walk for Jesus is to live denying it, therefore to live for him is to die to the world. It’s a matter of the heart because if we love and have compassion as Jesus does then the words we speak to honor God will come from a sincere heart.
