Matthew 19

And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?

Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?

He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.

11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?

28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

  1. His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
    Matthew 19:6‭-‬10 KJV

Wow! The hardness of the human heart hasn’t changed much. The followers of Moses were so hardened against having a life-long commitment to their wives, that Moses finally granted them the right to divorce for any reason in which “she found no favor in his eyes”.

Those of Jesus’ day were so hardened that they decided it would be better not to marry at all if you could only divorce for adultery. (Jesus told them the alternative to a lifetime commitment with one woman was celibacy.)

Those of our day are so hardened that they forego the marriage and the celibacy altogether. They partake of the sexual union with multiple partners and with little or no commitment at all.

This is not God’s way. Jesus always teaches commitment. Whether He is talking about marriage, faith, the Word, or the work of the Kingdom, God expects whole-hearted commitment from His followers. He said that those who look back, after putting their hand to the plow, are not fit for His Kingdom. He also said that those who waiver in faith will receive nothing from Him, the double-minded are completely unstable, and the lukewarm will be spued out of His mouth. Ecclesiastes says, “When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools…,” (5:4 KJV). God is serious about this! He cannot abide the apathetic and wishy-washy who claim to serve Him.

When doing right gets difficult, hard-hearted, selfish people always look for the easy way out of being committed. They look for loopholes in the contract, excuses for quitting, and faults in others to justify their own breach of covenant. However, God is looking for those who are steadfast and unmovable, who cannot be shaken when things get tough, and whose word is their bond. Are we the kind of Christian He is looking for?

  2. And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;

2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

Great multitudes followed Christ. When Christ departs, it is best for us to follow him. They found him as able and ready to help elsewhere, as he had been in Galilee; wherever the Sun of Righteousness arose, it was with healing in his wings.

  3. Verse 14 CEV “But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and don’t try to stop them! People who are like these children belong to God’s kingdom.” As we heard and were reminded last night, let us give all of our praise and make up our minds to follow Him.

Matthew 18:3-4 AMP “and said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you repent [that is, change your inner self—your old way of thinking, live changed lives] and become like children [trusting, humble, and forgiving], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever [a]humbles himself like this child is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

  4. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake shall receive a hundred fold, and inherit eternal life.

  5. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
    Matthew 19:22 KJV

Many are not willing to give up eartly possessions for the KINGDOM OF GOD. It is one of the reasons our churches are not full.

It is not until the power of the Holy Ghost has filled a soul with joy unspeakable and as time goes on the person realizes that living for GOD is way more important than anything else.

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
    Matthew 6:21 NLT

  6. Matthew 19:26 (English Amp) But Jesus looked at them and said, With men this is impossible, but all things are possible with God. We must continually keep the Lord’s commandments. This will be the only way that you will have a good life. [ Job 42:2]
I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted. Lord my prayer today for that all families will come to repentance and to be restored . There’s nothing that God can’t do. Help us Lord to be kingdom minded to learn more about you. We all need it Thank you Jesus .

  7. 6. If a husband and wife are one flesh, how can they divorce? Divorce would be a bloody amputation, would it not? “What God has brought together, let no man separate.” Voice

I have watched others go through divorce – it’s like watching a surgeon trying to separate conjoined twins…painful, bloody, expensive, and with great risk.

  8. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
    Matthew 19:14 NLT
This goes with the chapter of yesterday
    Come to him like children

  9. 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

I’ll never forget brother Mark Morgan once stated that this wasn’t a matter of divorce it was a matter of the heart. And he talked about guarding your heart, when I went through my divorce I remember the one thing that God told me to do which is to not Harden My Heart. No matter what happens no matter what I decide I will stand not hard my heart and be angry and bitter. My situation called for Revenge, backlash, retaliation, or something to appease my flash for what has been done to me and I wanted to be angry and Harden against it, but my Lord told me to guard my heart to not Harden myself. Many things in our lives that are meant to hurt us can either help us draw closer to God and feel his Sovereign word or they can Harden s and keep us away from every opportunity that God is trying to use in that situation to teach us into love us. our heart is not a matter of the condition around us but it is a matter of what we do with it. The same Sun that hardens clay, also melts wax. It all depends on the material it’s made of

  10. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

  11. “And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Here again. Another promise given to those that are willing to give their life up for the kingdom. It’s a sacrifice but it’s also a promise from God to never let you down. I’ve never seen the righteous forsaken. NEVER.

  12. St. Matthew 19:2 – Jesus heals people.
St. Matthew 19:13-15 – Jesus lays hands on the children and blesses them.
St. Matthew 19:16-21 – Jesus takes time to answer a young man’s questions on having eternal life.

All these scriptures should remind us that “to Jesus, no one was unimportant.”
Jesus was never to tired, nor ever to busy to give all of himself to anyone who needed it. HE’s STILL THE SAME TODAY!

So, a word of encouragement, whatever your need is or whatever your cares are today, they are important to Jesus, and JESUS IS THERE FOR YOU! HE want to HEAL and BLESS You Today!!

  13. Matthew 19
21 “If you want to give it all you’ve got,” Jesus replied, “go sell your possessions; give everything to the poor. All your wealth will then be in heaven. Then come follow me.”

22 That was the last thing the young man expected to hear. And so, crestfallen, he walked away. He was holding on tight to a lot of things, and he couldn’t bear to let go.

The young man was doing everything for the Kingdom yet there was one last thing one last submitted portion of his life. His possessions. He sadly walked away. He will never know what God had for him. One last step of faith.

What is holding each of us from totally surrendering to God? We must take inventory to see have we something someone we must surround. For the young man it was his money. Did he not realize who he was talking to. Don’t allow anything to keep you back from God’s riches when you have given all and the next step is faith He is right there. The young man gave up Heaven because of money how sad .

    Acts 26:28
Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

Oh don’t be almost but be fully persuaded fully willing to submit everything to God.

Help us Lord each day as we live to make it to the Kingdom.
    In Jesus Name

  14. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

Psalms 37:25 – “yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken” …Wow! Relating this to Pastors message last night about obedience obtaining faith and then faith being our spiritual currency, imagine all these great men of the Bible. Many of them left everything they knew, everything they had, everything they loved, to follow Christ. Talk about becoming rich in the Kingdom! They were wholeheartedly submitted and obedient to God’s commands and God saw them through with great blessings and even greater purposes in His Kingdom. What are we DOing??

  15. iLove the Kingdom
    Going Back to Genesis
4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

By Jesus quoting these scriptures from the book of Genesis, He affirms the entire book entirely. We can be assured that the book of Genesis was written under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost and is true. When the Jewish leaders tried to take Jesus to the law to catch him in a “debate” that they thought He couldn’t win, he took them back to Genesis. I didn’t realize it, but now that I think about it the majority of debates that folks attempt to get me in go back to Genesis as well. Think about it, tithing…Folks who “don’t” want to tithe try to prove their point by arguing the law of Moses. They say the law was fulfilled. That’s true, the law was fulfilled and that’s why we can eat pork chops, but If we would learn to take these folks back to Genesis (like Jesus did) we would find a simple yet profound fact…tithing came before the law therefore tithing stays after the law. Wow, simple. Or, as in the point of Jesus, Divorce was not God’s plan (Adam and Eve), but the law allowed it because of your hard hearts. This works with many other topics as well, for example God made Adam and Eve and not Adam and Steve.

  16. Matthew 19:17. And he said to him “why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good;but if you wish to enter into life, keep the Commandments.”

Just do it! Follow His commandments.

  17. Matthew 19:17. And he said to him “why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good;but if you wish to enter into life, keep the Commandments.”

Just do it! Follow His commandments.

  18. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life

Many of our families do not live a Christian life nor live a life of holiness. Some of them may be ‘carnal Christians’ who are enmeshed with the ways of this world without having the knowledge of this apostolic truth we know. And while we put Jesus first and family behind Him, it doesn’t mean that we should not reach for and teach our loved ones this truth. Make your loved ones your “10 to Win” and keep them held up in prayer before God till they are converted. Matt 6:33 Tells us to seek him first and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.

  19. And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.
    Matthew 19:29 NLT

When I think of all the troubles I get from my mother and sister for living my life dedicated to Jesus I think upon this scripture. The hurt and the pain from being rejected in this life is only temporary and God will bless our commitment to Him. I love my family, but I love my God more.

  20. 21 Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Liberals love to use verses like this to say Jesus was liberal/democrat, since he says to give to the poor. Yes, if someone is in need, we provide a one time blessing, its not your responsibility to provide forever. The unrighteous fail to understand, when you work, you work for God and not for man. Give your best, and God will reward you with blessings.

Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

  21. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

This man in his own eyes thought he was “perfect”, but when the Lord gave him instructions, we find he was really selfish and self centered, otherwise he would have been obedient, knowing that God would give back to him because of his giving heart.

  22. 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

How many times in our lives have we said that? “That’s impossible?” Maybe not that exact verbiage; how about “I can’t do that”. Reality is, YOU can’t, but WITH God, you can do all things!

God will take us where we can’t do certain things, to bring us to a place to CALL on HIM! Just at the scripture above states with God, ALL things are possible!

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phil 4:13

  23. 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

I am thankful that God shows up when we have done all that we can. As humans, we are limited because of our frailties but God is not limited. Yet, we limit Him by not trusting him and or by not going to Him when we need Him. Pastor Watts made the statement last night that “the best way to see an unanswered prayer is to never open your mouth and verbalize your request.”

I believe that many times in our lives we could see the miraculous power of God move yet we are too timid or afraid to ask Him. Let us be bold and boldly go to God and make our request know to Him.

  24. 16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

To this man seeking after eternal life, Jesus pointed out that salvation doesn’t come from good works alone, because good works without a love of God will get you nowhere. Instead of looking for another good deed to do, this man needed to humbly submit himself to God.

When Jesus asked this man to sell everything he had and give to the poor, He also revealed this mans weakness. His wealth was his god and he was not willing to give it up.
Often times when God is telling us to do something or give something up, He is revealing to us our weaknesses. When we hear the voice of God, are we going to walk away sorrowful or obey and be strengthened?

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  25. And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what GOOD THING shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Matthew 19:16 KJV
It seems the rich young ruler was looking for the one thing he could do to get to heaven, he was looking for the easy way in but he missed the opportunity altogether. He was focused on things and not on relationship. If he had known the God who gave the commandments (which he kept from his youth) he would have gladly given up all to follow and be with Jesus. Instead he went away sorrowful because he didn’t really know Jesus. Lord help us to be willing to give up all to follow You should You call us to do so.

  26. “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:21-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must set our heart and affections on the Lord alone. We are to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Our body and spirit is save through water baptism in Jesus name and the filling of the Holy Ghost. The mind is what keeps us saved. The mind is where our will and emotions come from. And where the decisions are made of doing right or wrong. We must have the mind of Christ. For He has giving us power and love and sound mind. Sound mind in the Greek is self control. Let us be hearers and doers of His Word. Let us be church!

“They come to you as people come, and they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not practice them; for with their mouth they express loving devotion, but their heart goes after their (unlawful) gain.”
    ‭‭EZEKIEL‬ ‭33:31‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  27. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

With God all things are possible, lets go save the as many will with God.

  28. 19:21 Jesus said unto him, if thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
    ————
… if thou wilt be perfect
…… and come and follow me

We can be busy in the work of the Lord, we can have it all talent treasure.. and help the needy but if we lack to be obedient to whatever the Lord asks of us, we have fell and all the works we do , it won’t work.
This man did everything and the one thing the Lord asked of him, couldn’t do. He wasn’t fully surrender to the Lords will for his life, he wasn’t ready.

  29. The philistines went to Jesus to ask a question about marriage, they said is it ok to marry someone and then marry someone else? And Jesus said no you can not commit adultrey . We have to go to Jesus about everything we do that we question. Because Jesus will help us figure out the right answer and show that we are truly Christians.

  30. Matthew 19:21-24

  31. 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

When a gift of the spirit is being operated remember it’s because we have allowed ourself to be submissive to the spirit. We let go our fleshy desires so the gifts of the spirit can be manifested in us.
Not my Will but thy Will be done remember.

  32. THY KINGDOM COME
    WHO IS PERFECT?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

No doubt the man believed himself to be perfect, because he followed all of the rules. However upon deeper examination, JESUS reveals or exposes an area of his life that is not perfect.

Here we witness the danger in assuming that we are perfect because we follow all of the rules. Yes, we must be obedient, this is the only way perfection is even possible. However to possess the mentality that we are perfect when not every area of our life is such is deception. To say we are perfect and weeks and months go by that we do not teach others the Gospel or convert or baptize souls in JESUS name is self deceiving. The parting command or commission of JESUS we find in Matthew 28:19

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

This does not indicate however that we should not strive for and dismiss the command to be perfect because we teach Bible Study and win souls.

The WORD of GOD commands us to be perfect.

2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

The apostle continues in Philippians revealing that he is also not self proclaiming his perfection, while he is reaching for it.

    Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

I believe the apostle reveals to us that we have a standard to be perfect and that is to obey all the commands of GOD and this we must do. However we all have this human spirit that must be disciplined everyday to fulfill and live out the heart or attitude of life and to live in the attitude that we have already attained perfection then we are in the eternal perfected state like the rich man, reveals imperfection.

    More Obedience

Luke 12:27… Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these..

  34. 5-6 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. KJV

5-6 And because of this, a man leaves father and mother and is firmly bonded to his wife, becoming one flesh—no longer two bodies but one. Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart.” MSG

I believe the truth is, no relationship comes with a lifetime guarantee. Even if grow up in stable homes, ministry leaders at church and consider ourselves good decent people, who promise “until death do us part,” can have things fall apart. As a husband, we have a certain perspective and anticipation from our spouse. Likely, our spouse has her own list of objectives.

What is our definition of marriage? Is it perfect happiness and conflict-free living? That is not what God promised it to be. God designed marriage to provide: partnership, spiritual intimacy and the ability to pursue God — together. We might be looking for these attributes from our spouse rather than looking for these things together. The problem with looking to another human to complete us is that, it might be idolatry. We should find our fulfillment and purpose in God and if we expect our spouse to be ‘God’ to us, he or she will fail every day. No person can live up to such expectations.

  35. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?

21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Wherever our heart is there our treasure will be. We must give our hearts to Jesus for that is what he asks of us. It requires full trust to give your heart away. Great possessions may seem to provide comfort in stability, safety, or even emotional stability thinking you don’t have to worry about the future. But it is only God that holds one future I’m his hands. He promised to take care of the needs if we seek first the komfsom of God. It is a matter of the heart. The real stability is not in possessions but rather found on the Rock, Jesus.

  36. 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

If we are not careful we could end up like this man wanting to do God’s will and server Him until He says sell all or sell out to me but because we have grown use to the things in this world money, houses, cars, land that we cannot let go and we miss out on our mission our calling and could cost us our salvation. Never get so attached to things where you can’t let it go if need be.

  37. Sacrifice

How much are we willing to give up for the Kingdom of God? Are we willing to give it all up? And all, meaning everything. What is your sacrifice that you are giving to God?

  38. 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

  39. Josiah: 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Kingdom treasure is greater than earthly treasure. What we lay up in heaven lasts but possessions on earth will not. It is better to seek God’s blessings than blessings of this world. The Word of God is unfallible and eternal. So, let us GO SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

  40. 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

I have missed this small key part for sooooo long, “If thou wilt be perfect…”

Every time I remember it being quoted, they have missed this phrase. I miss quoted this verse, because I left out this phrase. If Death and Life are in the tongue, we need to be sure that we do NOT miss quote scripture.

  41. 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,

    YES YES YES!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  42. “And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is dear to me as I have given some things up for the kingdom. We all have. The promise is that it shall be received an hundredfold and everlasting life. While there is sorrow over this sacrificed, as it was precious to me, there is joy for the rewards promised. We just can’t be like like the rich young man and walk away when we are so close to heaven.

  43. 29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

The Kingdom of Heaven doesn’t make since to the carnal mind. You would think that the right thing to do would be to keep your family. But we all know that if your family is not in agreement with the doctrin, it is near impossible to be with them and to do the will of God. It’s hard to do but sometimes you have to cut them loose to accomplish what God has for you.

  44. 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Despite where people come from or are we can’t change anybody but only Jesus can change the people. His Spirit is what changes the souls. Many are running around in their own mind trying to figure out this world when all they have to do is receive His Power!!! I have been at POFW 3 years, seem many people but it’s beautiful to see how God changes people. It’s beautiful to them them turn their wicked ways and give their life completely to God!!! You are just amazing Lord!!! No one like you!!!

  45. The issue here is the heart and it takes more than just love to make a relationship last or grow. Some marry for fleshly desire, after their desire is gone, they are off to the next victim.Commitment says it doesn’t matter what happens, for better or for worse in sickness and in health they remain one. A hard heart would not understand that mentality. In fact Moses allowed them to divorce after the wife found no favor in his eyes. That’s the problem the eyes that are wondering to trees that are not their own. Jesus expects a whole-hearted commitment and not a lukewarm dishonest agreement. It’s better not to get married if the intent is to use someone until your through with them. If they will remain unmarried such as a eunich just because they don’t like these terms then they’re also hard hearted. We can’t be halfway married the same way we can’t be one foot in and one foot out of the church. We must be sold out to Jesus, for he is jealous for us. In the same respect a man should love his wife as Jesus loves the church.

  46. 9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

I think many times we try to eliminate the law because Grace took action and has keep punishment for our sins away! Many take it as permission to sin.

Grace was not to put away the law, but to hold it in higher regard.
Jesús didn’t say the adultery can be committed by a man and a woman but if you cover in your heart after someone, you have committed adultery in your heart!

Do not be deceived, we will be judged for everything!

  47. Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”(Matthew 19:26 NLT)

What this verse explains to me is that Jesus ways are higher than our own ways. It is hard for people that are rich to give up what they desire. Their hunger is filled with things of this world and they don’t seek after God because of it. Even with there own human ability and strength it’s impossible. But with Jesus everything is possible through him.

  48. 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

The only way to make it to Heaven is to be obedient to God. Jesus knows what’s best for us and has a plan to fulfill in our lives. He wants us to trust Him and willingly love His plan. When we disobey Him, we show that we don’t want to participate in His kingdom. And if we don’t want to be part of His kingdom now on Earth, why would we want to be part of it in Heaven? Heaven isn’t for good people, it’s for those who keep God’s commandments.
