Matthew 26

And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.

52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

58 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

63 But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

  1. And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

Our Lord had often told of his sufferings as at a distance, now he speaks of them as at hand. At the same time the Jewish council consulted how they might put him to death secretly. But it pleased God to defeat their intention. Jesus, the true paschal Lamb, was to be sacrificed for us at that very time, and his death and resurrection rendered public.

  2. Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
    Matthew 26:33‭-‬35, 74-75 KJV

Peter, like most of us, thought better of himself than he really was. It was unthinkable to him that he would ever be so weak as to deny his Lord. He honestly thought that he had it in him to die for Jesus.

When the test came, however, Peter was overcome with fear and failed to live up to his own resolve. He greatly disappointed himself and wept bitterly. He then wallowed in his own condemnation and returned to his old lifestyle.

Peter failed to understand that he had not surprised or disappointed God with His failure. Jesus knew all along who Peter was, what he was made of, and what he would do. Jesus knew that Peter wasn’t perfect, that he had much growing yet to do, and that he needed to experience this failure so that he could fully comprehend the love and mercy of God.

Jesus also knew how to make Peter into the man that Peter truly wanted to be. When God was finished working in Peter’s life, he was able to face his fears and to give his life for his Lord.

God used Peter’s failures to perfect his faith, and He will do the same in every one of our lives, if we continue to lift our fallen hearts to Him. We cannot give up when we’ve disappointed ourselves, He can make us the Christians we truly want to be.

  3. In this chapter we read and think “How in the world could they ever deny Him or fail Him?”, after being with Him (Jesus); but, as Peter discovered even being with Jesus day after day, he too denied Him. We must stay close and be vigilant about what we are doing, saying, portraying and seeking. There will be many things and many people who will try and distract you or pull you from the will of God; but, stand firm, know Him and trust in the one true God who chose you. John 17:3 AMP says “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent.”

  4. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

If after we have denied JESUS with our attitude, actions or the lack thereof, if we don’t cry bitterly with a repenting heart, is it true repentance?

  5. Mathew 26:26-29

26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

    27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

  6. 52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

The definition of meekness is not just defined as humility and lowly submission per say, it is more explained as one who Carries a sword but keeps it in its sheath. Is more self control and submission. It is a man who has the potential to do something but chooses to holster it and do what need to be done. Meekness is about showing submission to what chooses over us. To give mercy when you have power to destroy

  7. Matthew 26

7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

What are we willing to give for the Kingdom of God?
What is in our alabaster box?

    The room grew still
As she made her way to Jesus
    She stumbled through the tears
    That make her blind
    She felt such pain
    Some spoke in anger
    Heard folks whisper
There’s no place here for her kind
    Still on she came
Through the shame that flushed her face
Until at last she knelt before his feet
And though she spoke no words
    Everything she said was heard
As she poured her love for the master
    From her box of Alabaster
    And I’ve come to pour
My praise on Him like oil
    From Mary’s Alabaster Box
Don’t be angry if I wash His feet with my tears
And I dry them with my hair
You weren’t there the night He found me
You did not feel what I felt
When He wrapped His loving arms around me
And you don’t know the cost
Of the oil in my Alabaster box

  8. 31. Jesus: Scripture says, I shall strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will scatter. Just so, each of you will stumble tonight, stumble and fall, on account of Me. Voice

The devil tries to copy what God does, and he is trying harder to smite the shepherds today than he ever has. You must have noticed the increased attack on Fathers (shepherds of the homes) and Pastors (shepherds of the churches). This is why we must constantly lift them up in our prayers, and encourage them in person.

    Luke 22:
    31. “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat.

    32. But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.” NLT

  9. 72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
And he went out, and wept bitterly

  10. St. Matthew 26:27-28
    27) And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it:
    28) For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

  11. 22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

Just like we heard last night, we must always heed the words of the Lord and be willing to examine ourselves. Even if the word doesn’t seem like it’s for us right now, we still need to be attentive and take hold of it because it could help us later or we could share it with someone else who does need it right now.

  12. Let’s break it down to the simplest term – why do we come to church?

Is it to be saved? Maybe we come out of duty or to keep up appearances and pretend to be what we are supposed to be. Some may come out of fear others may come for the carnal benefit of being a Christian. We each must ask and answer the question of why do we come to church – why do we follow Jesus?

Judas was consumed with money and wealth, to the point of betraying the trust of not only Jesus, but also his fellow disciples. Judas may have desired to follow Jesus simply because he saw the great following and believed he could profit from offering plate. The fact that Judas was in charge of the finances for the group could indicate his interest in money. Maybe he was expecting Jesus to overthrow the government and become the nation’s leader, thus he might be in put in charge of all the nation’s money.

I believe when Judas seen Jesus’ reaction to the ointment he realized Jesus was not in for fortune and fame; he then made the deal to betray Jesus. So, again, what is the reason we come to church?

  13. The New Testament church communion, which effectively replaces the passover (since we now look back where they looked forward), is instituted here by Jesus himself. ‘And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.’

Communion is of course partaken by all believers, as was instructed, so it is worth pursuing a unity of the faith in it’s implementation. Jesus instituted both the bread and the wine for his remembrance, yet we know drunkenness is a sin which we as a body have to chosen to avoid by abstaining from… avoiding even the appearance of evil. These two principles however are not in opposition to one another if we consider the biblical pretexts. Many point to Jesus’ first miracle, but the biblical context can be extended much further in scripture.

All the way back in Genesis, Joseph is called upon to interpret a dream of the butler and the baker. The butler’s dream is quite specific in it’s detail as he served Pharoah, the mightiest man in the earth at the seat of his power. ‘And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me; And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes: And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.’ Notice that the wine he served to Pharoah was squeezed from his hand into Pharoah’s cup.

Although Noah would accidently discover the impact of fermented grapes, this is the first mention of the serving of wine in scripture. Unless it somehow changed its form as it flowed into the cup, it was fresh and pure from the vine… the serving of the best wine for the mighty Pharoah. This can perhaps add some further clarification to the governor’s comment to Jesus’ miracle. He clearly declared they had saved the best for last, but it is a modern mindset that assumes the best had to be fermented. In the degraded morals of the world this may be so, be we of the church can in good conscience with biblical precedent partake of the wine of his blood without resorting to the impurities the world is so fond of… and it even agrees with our other biblical principles!

  14. THY KINGDOM COME
    THE BITTER PAIN OF REGRET

75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

We are BLESSED in these last days to have access to the many resources that assist us in learning and knowing JESUS and HIS will. We hear prophetic words such as spoken over us on Sunday Evening, we hear warnings from the WORD of GOD on fear such as was preached on Sunday Morning then we have a choice to make.

To believe or not to believe. To believe means to submit to the warning, to not believe means to carry out our plans or just simply go with the flow.

There is great lesson to be learned from the apostle Peter and his pain. Being warned of his backsliding, he feared man more than GOD. It was not until the painful regret of his failure that he recognized his sin. The WORDS of the LORD are primarily to direct us in avoiding such painful choices.

JESUS grant us grace to remember and to heed the warnings and obey the directions that you have given that we may escape THE BITTER PAIN OF REGRET.

  16. iLove the Kingdom
7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

There is never wasted time spent with Jesus. It is very precious in the eyes of the Lord when we go to him in prayer and fellowship. When we read His Word, and when we give our tithes and offerings is time and money well spent. We should never allow anyone to push us away from the Master. Every morning we should plan to spend time in prayer and fellowship with Jesus.

  17. “Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:42‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
In the end times we will have to decide. We will have to make a choice of we’re willinh or not. If we give our life freely. Forbthe Glory of God let your will be done Jesus. I’m willing. Use me!

  18. 26:43-46 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
    44. And left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
    45. Then come th he to his disciples, and saith unto them, sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is atat hand, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
    46. Rise, let us be going: behold he is at hand that doth betray me.
    ———-
These verses I believe has to do with what the man of God preached about last nigh( some of it)
Here is Jesus PRAYING, preparing ,ahead, taking care of
things, knowing what’s yet to come.
So what were the guys doing? Yes, Sleeping! Yes, sleeping instead of praying. was it hard to stay awake? Yes, the Lord himself says , that , the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, but anyways. Prayer should be a life style, a burning desire within us, but there are times to where we should be praying with more fervent need and desire with an urgentcy ..
Jesus knew they needed to pray more than ever, while he was praying too.
Could it be that When Jesus is gone for a little while , when he is silent doing the work ,could it be because He is praying for whatever is yet to come that we might not have a clue about o. Of What’s yet to come?( in our lives)i believe yes.
IT IS NOT TIME TO BE ASLEEP!

Thank you Lord for the awakening.

  19. And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
    Matthew 26:75 KJV

Every time we choose not to share the gospel of Christ to our city, we have chosen to deny The LORD. How soon did Peter forget who GOD called him to be. He forgot what his purpose and mission in life was, he feared what man will say and do unto him. Tormented by fear and pride, Peter put his cross down. We have been praying against the spirit of fear as pastor talked about in yesterday’s message. So let us go out and proclaim the gospel to our city. Jesus help us to pick up our cross and daily follow you. Not our will, but your will be done!!

    Thy KINGDOM ❤

  20. 55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

The man who healed them, fed them and delivered them is now become their enemy? And his disciples fled even though he forwarned them of his crucifixion. But he also told them he would rise in 3 days and go before them to Galilee. These scriptures tell me that when or if we fall, God still has a plan for our success. When we are in the valley, we must remember his promises and encourage our own selves with his word. Ps 23 shows he has us covered, even boxed in when we are in the valley with a table in front of us, his rod and staff beside us and goodness and mercy following behind us. So just as Peter was restored and used greatly of God, so we too can be restored and used greatly for the Kingdom.

  21. 50 Jesus said, “My friend, go ahead and do what you have come for.”
Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him.

Forgiveness. What a perfect example! We’ve read throughout the chapter of Jesus preparing everyone, He knew the Will of God. We heard him praying it in the garden. But to be able to look at someone you’ve been working with, living with, and knowing he betrayed, yet still call him; friend.

However, if we stop and take a moment how many times have we ourselves betrayed Jesus, yet He opens His loving arms and calls us friend.

We should be KINGDOM Friends to look past the betrayal, forgive, and call everyone FRIEND.

  22. 33 Peter declared, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you.”

Many will say these exact words also, “I wont deny you”. How many do you deny Jesus. Do you deny Jesus at work, at school, or at the store? When you’re getting ready to sit down at a restaurant, do you deny him by not praying? At work, when others ask, do you go to church? Which church? Lets never deny Jesus, and speak about Jesus when the opportunity comes.

  23. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this WASTE?
    Matthew 26:8 KJV
Worship is never waste! Worship is never wasted time, effort and strength. God deserves our best so we should never hold back from Him. Give unto the Lord , O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Psalms 29:1‭-‬2 KJV
When we give God our strength, God gives us His. The psalmist ends this with the promise of what we receive when we worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
    Psalms 29:11 KJV
Worship is never waste! It brings joy to God and He gives strength, blessings and peace to us.

  24. 39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

In times of suffering we often wish to just get out of it, or at least to know the reason behind it.
Jesus knew what was ahead of Him, but He knew the reason and believed all the suffering would be worth saving us.
There is always a reason behind our trials, whether it be to teach us a lesson, to bring us to a place of growth, or to help someone else, the outcome will always be greater than the suffering. But we must be willing to trust God, because in the midst of it all we may not see the reason.
We must be willing to say “thy will be done” and be obedient.

  25. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Memory is a tricky thing. Sometime we try so hard to remember something, but are unable to recall it to our minds. Yet I believe there will come a time when all the opportunities that we have had to share the gospel of Jesus Christ will haunt our memories when we realize all the opportunities that the Lord has given us and we let them slip away.

Be bold, be a witness, do what God has called us to do. Don’t wait because the bridegroom may call today and we must be ready and take as many souls with us as we can!

  26. Matthew 26:51-54

  27. When I hear this story every time I understand the significance of believing Jesus and what he speaks for he is the God of truth and righteousness. I understand that even the deciples who even walked, talked, ran, and jogged with Jesus denied him and it shows me that my faith has to be strong in situations!

34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

Peter denied Jesus even when Jesus told him what he was going to do!

  28. Josiah: 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Having a pray life with God is essential to spiritual growth. Whether it is 5 minutes or 3 hours a day, Something Is Better Than Nothing! When you feel like you do not want to pray is probably when you need it most. So, let us GO DAILY PRAY IN JESUS NAME!

  29. “And Peter remembered the [prophetic] words of Jesus, when He had said, “Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly [in repentance].”
    ‭‭MATTHEW‬ ‭26:75‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The Words of Jesus are true. He cannot lie! I’m so thankful for His Word. I’m thankful for the word that will be delivered Sunday. It is a firm foundation we will stand on.

  30. 38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

If we are to put this into perspective on what was preached to us last night, Jesus is asking to watch with him for one more hour and we are an eleventh hour church, that would we mean we need to watch with him until it hits midnight, which I believe that is what Jesus wants us to do. We don’t want to be like the disciples when he caught them having fallen asleep when he came back an hour later when they should have praying. For the bible does say:

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

So we shouldn’t stop praying for each other and for the salvation of the lost until the midnight hour comes, just like the scripture says we need perseverance because it is a long hour. But people are counting on us to pray, we can’t let them down.

  31. When it comes down to it, we shouldn’t deny him. Are we right in our hearts and mind? Do we truly love God? We are all apart of God’s plan, what part is yours?

  32. While he was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over his head.

You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me.
    Matthew 26:7‭, ‬11 NLT

Are we ready to be sold out for Jesus? There is so much we can let go of that would bring us closer to God and prepare ourselves for His return. The woman knew how much of a sacrifice she was making by breaking that box and anointing Jesus. Just like Elisha slaughtering twelve oxen, the price of commitment and sacrifice can be great, but that communion and closeness with our Lord is so much greater.

  33. “Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:45‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    The hour is at hand.
Man I feel like this will preach! I reckon it did last night.

This whole chapter is just prophetic word being fulfilled. If reading this doesn’t lift your faith I don’t know what will because it’s obvious if this was fulfilled that the time were living in now is the hour at hand. It’s prophecy being fulfilled. Everyday we should be praying not my will but thy will be done. Not my will but thy will be done not my will but thy will be done.
The cock crew thrice, how many times you gonna let this bird crow to get your attention that we should be on a move!
    Next level
    Just do it!

  34. Profit of Betrayal

14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

What did Judas profit from betraying Jesus? As we will continue to read, Judas will kill himself. So what did he gain? Would there be fame or fortune? Would there be anything that is of gain? As I looked up how much 30 Pieces of silver would be worth. It only comes out to be around $600. Would you sell someone out for $600?

In Matt 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

We have to be willing to turn away from ourselves and turn to God, if we want to be with Him. It is not worth it, telling yourself you’re ok if you live a wrong way. You must tell yourself the truth, and turn away from the wicked ways that are so easy to do and go down the path of unrighteous. There is no profit or betraying other or even yourself to the whiles of the enemy. The only thing you lose as Judas did is your life, Eternally! Is it worth the risk, is it worth the pain, is it worth betraying the Living God?

NO it’s not. Let His Kingdom Come and let it be established in your life.

  35. I learned that Judas asked how much was it to Betray Jesus and they said 30 pieces of silver and Judas said OK Then when they were eating Jesus said one of y’all will betray me then the disciples asked Am I the one that will betray you then Judas One ofThese disciples said am I the one to betray youThen Jesus said yes you said it then they went to Go pray and the disciples went to sleep then when Jesus know it is they were sleeping he said sleep on later that night Judas Arrivedwith armed guardsWith swords and clubs he said you will know which person to arrest when I kiss him Then Judas Kissed Jesus on the cheek then the guards arrested Jesus one of the disciples cut off a earOf a guard then Jesus said don’t do that for you shall get killed by the sword if you do that then he healed the ear And went with Them Jesus said you will deny me three times before the rooster crows and he said I would never later that night he walked by a woman and the woman said are you the one that was with Jesus and he did Nied know I would never be with him then he walked on then another woman Ask him are you the one that was with Jesus and He said no then he walked on and a man ask him are you were youDo you want with Jesus and he denied know and the man said are you sure you have a Galilean accident he said no I would never be with him then the rooster crowed and he noticed what Jesus said and ran away

  36. 6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

The setting was the same as it always used to be, Jesus amidst those that had need, in the middle of sinners, the sick, the unworthy and defiled, according to the religious. After so long being around him and such encounters with the religiously unclean, yet his disciples still seemed not to get it. Perhaps they still did not yet understand the message of love, for they questioned the worship of a heart that poured out it’s best and it’s all. We will never understand the worship of some until we walk in their shoes. It is a personal matter. Just like not all servants are the same, not all worshipers either. Nonetheless, we should never question, critique, or judge the worship of a soul to the master Jesus. We will give back whatever we offer. If you are in love with Jesus all you want to do is give yourself in wosrhsip of God. Whatever may be the case for as much as he has forgiven you or all that he is done for you worship him however your heart desires. Worship him in spirit and in truth. Jesus will always be where there is a need for for that reason he came as a saviour; and where there is that need worship will be with it. Let your praise and worship bring Jesus to your situation and let him be in the setting as He as always been, our present help in times of trouble, our strong tower, our firm rock.

  37. I learned that Jesus said to Peter that he would deny him three times and he did it and the rooster crowed

  38. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Powerful Words!!! If you fall into temptation is not because the devil made you do it or because of someone else but your own fault! We can’t give place to temptation but rebuke in the name of Jesus!!! We have the power to fall or overcome, to stand or fall, to give place to the devil or stomp on him. The choice is ours completely!! Thank you Jesus !

  39. 27,28

The sane is true of the cap the container is used to express the thing contained. The cap contined the fruit of the vine , which in turn was a symbol of the blood of the new covenant the new, unconditional covenant of grace would be ratified by His precious blood shed for many for the forgiveness of sins. His blood was sufficient to provide forgiveness for all .but here it was shed for many in that it was only effective in removing the sins of those who believe.

  40. 7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

The woman sought an opportunity to bless and anoint Jesus with costly oil. Yet Judas sought opportunity to betray Jesus for silver. So Bible scholars say it would amount to $3,000 today. 😱

The cost of the ointment was worth about 300 denarii, about $54,509 in U.S. dollars.

Judas was with the disciples complaining about how she was waiting money but think about how selfless the woman was. Yet, Judas”s reward for betrayal of Jesus was a drop in the bucket compared to her devotion to Him

We must follow her example and give all to Him in an effort to not give all to betray Him.

  41. Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”(Matthew 26:41 NLT)

This verse Jesus spoke to his disciples warning them that at all times it’s very important to be watchful in prayer. We must at all times make sure that we know what’s of God and not of God because the enemy will try to attack us with distractions of temptation. We must die daily to our flesh so that the spirit takes over. Denying flesh makes the Spirit operate stronger through us.

  42. I remember that day…

I will be ready and willing to explain Jesus to a person and let them know all we need is Jesus.
I believe that if I have no resources to give tithes and offerings…I can give my time and treasure (good news about Jesus)…and I believe that Jesus will approve me trying to bring someone to Him (Jesus),then trying to pay a big vow..of a huge lump sum that can be used to help someone in need or to somehow give in a ministry that you have. Or someone else. This scripture I believe is about sacrifice. When Mary poured the ointments on Jesus’feet… I believe that she didn’t have money to pay but she gave her best gift to Him(Jesus).
The gifts that Jesus gives us is the Holy Ghost and all power to overcome our difficult things that we have. So she bowed down to her lowest day…Jesus was about to die on the Cross and she loved Him so much she substituted money for love. I love you Jesus I bow down low so I can rise up so one day I can be you in Glory one day.

  43. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Jesus knows our hearts and yet He still chooses to love us unconditionally. He still wants us to spend an eternity with Him. It’s important we follow His commandments and seek Him daily. He knows all of our footsteps and has a plan He wants to fulfill in our lives. Who knows what that plan could accomplish. It could inspire many, restore the broken, and save souls. Let’s follow Jesus.

  44. 7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

Would we be able to give Jesus what hold most valuable? If we had to evaluate our lives what is the most valuable thing in our lives may not be a thing, but a person or place. Homes, cars, jobs, family members etc cannot get us into heaven. Jesus commends this woman who broken her alabaster box to prepare him for crucifixion. Her act of kindness and sacrifice will last generations in the Word we read today. Her example is of a humble sacrifice.
