Mark 14

After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.

And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

11 And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

12 And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover?

13 And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.

14 And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

15 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us.

16 And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

17 And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

18 And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.

19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I?

20 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

21 The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

23 And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.

24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

25 Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

26 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

27 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

28 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

29 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

30 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.

31 But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

37 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

42 Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

43 And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

44 And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead him away safely.

45 And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.

46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

47 And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

48 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staves to take me?

49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

50 And they all forsook him, and fled.

51 And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him:

52 And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

53 And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

54 And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

55 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.

56 For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.

57 And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,

58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

59 But neither so did their witness agree together.

60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

63 Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

64 Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

65 And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

66 And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

68 But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.

69 And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.

70 And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

71 But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

  1. And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
    Mark 14:37‭-‬38 KJV

Jesus is saying here that the way to watch is in prayer. Moreover, to neglect watching in prayer makes one weak in the flesh and susceptible to temptation. This proved to be true later in the chapter when Peter was unable to stand up and be counted as a follower of Christ.

The time may come for all of us when we will be faced with the same choice, when being a Christian may become costly. Already, even in our country, people have faced great persecution for their Christian beliefs. Some are being arrested, being sued, being heavily fined, and losing their businesses or livelihoods because they have chosen to walk with Christ (rather than following afar off as Peter did).

Peter thought he had all the resolve in the world to give his life for his Lord, but he slept instead of prayed—and he ran, denied, and cursed because his flesh was weak. We would stand more and fall less if we committed ourselves to more prayer.

I heard the leader of the church in Ethiopia speak back when I was a new convert. The power of God was so strong that I physically shook during his whole message. Two things I still remember him saying over 30 years later:
    1) He said they all prayed at least 3 hours a day. He said 1 hour a day was barely enough to keep the one praying saved. If you wanted to have revival and save souls, you had to do more.
    2) He said their lives were threatened for their faith often. He said they cared not what they were threatened with or how they were killed. To be killed for Christ was a blessing that hastened their eternal reward.
(I imagine that he could only say such a thing because he spent 3 hours a day in prayer.)

What fears might we overcome, what temptations might we conquer, what revival might we birth if we were faithful to watch in prolonged prayer every day? Remember, the spirit is willing, but the flesh needs prayer—and revival needs even more prayer. We have the results we pray for.

  2. Some of those at the table were indignant. “Why waste such expensive perfume?” they asked. “It could have been sold for a year’s wages and the money given to the poor!” So they scolded her harshly. But Jesus replied, “Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me? You will always have the poor among you, and you can help them whenever you want to. But you will not always have me. She has done what she could and has anointed my body for burial ahead of time.
    Mark 14:4‭-‬8 NLT
    A sacrifice
This lovely woman sacrifice expensive perfume to anointed JESUS the people looked at her and reply why would you wast this expensive perfume but JESUS stop them right there and say she had done a good thing
What are you sacrifice to have a closer relationship with God
Are you reading the Bible instead of hanging out with your friends are watching a TV show
Oh help me GOD or are you sacrificing your sleep to wake up at 6 to go to early prayed meeting God see all these things and he promised us that we will be rewarded in heaven

10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

Did Christ pour out his soul unto death for us, and shall we think any thing too precious for him? Do we give him the precious ointment of our best affections? Let us love him with all the heart, though it is common for zeal and affection to be misunderstood and blamed; and remember that charity to the poor will not excuse any from particular acts of piety to the Lord Jesus. Christ commended this woman’s pious attention to the notice of believers in all ages. Those who honour Christ he will honour. Covetousness was Judas’ master lust, and that betrayed him to the sin of betraying his Master; the devil suited his temptation to that, and so conquered him. And see what wicked contrivances many have in their sinful pursuits; but what appears to forward their plans, will prove curses in the end.

  4. 3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

Somethings have to break to let out the most precious and valuable things. In this case the alabaster box had to break for Jesus to be anointed for His burial. A simple sacrifice, Jesus had to be broken, for us to gain Salvation! Now, it’s our turn to break so we can minister to others. He didn’t promise an easy path but a path to Salvation and eternal life with Him.

  5. Verses 37-38 MSG “He came back and found them sound asleep. He said to Peter, “Simon, you went to sleep on me? Can’t you stick it out with me a single hour? Stay alert, be in prayer, so you don’t enter the danger zone without even knowing it. Don’t be naive. Part of you is eager, ready for anything in God; but another part is as lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire.” Same verses in CEV “When Jesus came back and found the disciples sleeping, he said to Simon Peter, “Are you asleep? Can’t you stay awake for just one hour? Stay awake and pray that you won’t be tested. You want to do what is right, but you are weak.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17 AMP “be unceasing and persistent in prayer;”.

Ephesians 6:18 AMP “With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all [a]God’s people.”

  6. Keep actively watching and praying that you may not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
    MATTHEW 26:41 AMP

If you are finding yourself distant from the Lord and constantly getting deep into sin – most likely you’re not watching and praying. Praying and seeking the will of GOD for your life will keep you under the shadow of His wings(protected)!

For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose].
    ROMANS 8:5 AMP
    The choice is yours!

  7. 3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

  8. Mark 14:6-7 (English Amp) But Jesus said, Let her alone; why are you troubling her ? She has done a good and beautiful thing to Me [ praiseworthy and noble]. [7] For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish you can do good to them; But you will not always have Me. She had done what she could she came beforehand to anoint Jesus body for the burial. [Deut. 15:11] For the poor will never cease out of the land; therefore I command you,You shall open wide your hands to your brother or sister, to your needy, and to the poor in your land. Be willing to help someone in need. Pray for them , Love them, Help them. I bless you in the name of the Lord.

  9. And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.
    Mark 14:54 KJV
Following God afar off can get you into trouble. The closer we can stay to Jesus, the better off we will be. David said, My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
    Psalms 63:8 KJV
This is the attitude to have, a constant pursuit of the will of God. We are staying too close to the world when we warm ourselves or get comfort from the enemies fire. Holiness keeps us close to Jesus and away from the world.

  10. 7. For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

    9. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

    10. And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

It appears that the final deciding factor for Judas to betray Jesus was over money…don’t let the love of money cause you to lose your place with God.

  11. 3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.

4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

She took something that was valuable to her and gave poured it out on Jesus and Jesus said she is doing a good work. What would happen if we give up our valuable time, money and give to the Lord what could God use us for? Who could I reach if I would be completely sold out to him and not holding anything back?

  12. 4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
8 She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

  13. 14:49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the criptures must be fulfilled.

And it’s a victorious one. Because of JESUS, he conquered, he was obidient, he submitted. Nothing happened out of the will of God.
Everything happened at the perfect time.
Let us walk in confidence believing and knowin that whatever happens, it’s no surprised to the Lord

  17. 49 I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

    Wow.
This is humility. Jesus the king of kings, Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace says “Go ahead, the scripture must be fulfilled. We all know Jesus could’ve took all these guys in one sneeze but He knew what had to be done. Seeing this whole illustration in the Gospels over and over again really pushes me to try and fulfill Gods WILL.
As a human there is nothing easy about surrendering your life.
I know we lift our hands all the time in church and that’s a sign of surrendering. But I still remember the FIRST time I surrendered. I had tears running down my face and I was ready for Gods will take place. That wasn’t easy for me, it took a lot of prayer from loved ones and God touched my heart changing my life forever.
Well when Jesus surrendered and gave his life it was so we could experience that moment of surrendering.

He surrendered so when we surrender He can fill us!
    Wow now that’s good
Let Jesus fill us today with his spirit.

    Jesus Will is Jesus Bill
The Lord wasn’t worried about renting a house. He had already prepared the heart of the owner of the house to receive him. Jesus wasn’t worried about renting a car, earlier, he prepared the donkey owner’s heart to let him borrow his ride, Jesus wasn’t worried about paying the rent, he had his fishy friend catch a gold coin for him.

Why do we worry so much? Jesus will Jesus bill.

  19. 38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

When His flesh was rising up against Him, Jesus knew what he needed to do. To tame His flesh He had an all night prayer meeting. He went and prayed three different times because He was so distraught and His flesh was raging against Him. Sometimes our flesh can be our worst enemy. And once again we need to think like and follow in the footsteps of Jesus. When that battle of the flesh comes we need to remember to separate ourselves and pray to help realign our Focus for His Kingdom. In Jesus name

The setting, the participants, the act. It could be anyone, anywhere at anytime. The message clear to me today is that JESUS is accessible anywhere and we can worship HIM anywhere.

The greatest the sacrifice, the greater the recognition. JESUS recognized the unworthiness of this woman to “anoint” JESUS with the precious ointment. No doubt condemning those around JESUS for not recognizing the time was at hand and JESUS was about to be crucified. I pray this passage will teach us to be prayerful about our sacrifices to JESUS and how we hear what the Spirit is saying to the church. JESUS is speaking to us today about what to bring and how to come worship HIM. Revival services begin tonight. Lets gather all that we can and bring them to JESUS, broken, hurt, sick and sinner alike, lets fill every seat for JESUS.

Miracles, Signs and Wonders will happen tonight in JESUS name at The POFW.

  22. 72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

This is not the kind of word any of us would want to look back on and remember, but it was the very moment Peter realized his lack of commitment. Like Peter, we think we’re tight with Jesus, no worries because I love Jesus and I’ll follow absolutely anywhere He leads, fully committed to His word and will… It’s one thing to be confident in your walk with God, but Peter was almost prideful in the way he felt he had to defend himself and his commitment to Jesus. Even when Jesus warned him, he surely thought Jesus was wrong and was sure he would never deny Him. But we need to daily examine ourselves because even the smallest seed uncommitted to God has the power to take root and lead us astray.

  23. 33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

So I could tell everyone I know“

Jesus knew how much it would cost Him to do the Fathers Will, He knew of the suffering that was to come. The sinless son of God took on the sin of the whole world, so that we could be free from sin today. He knew the cost, but to Him, it was worth it.

Anything worth having is going to cost. How much are we willing to give for our relationship with God?

    “And as You speak
    A hundred billion failures disappear
Where You lost Your life so I could find it here
If You left the grave behind You so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve done
Every part designed in a work of art called love
If You gladly chose surrender so will I
    I can see Your heart
    Eight billion different ways
    Every precious one
A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I“

  25. St. Mark 14:37-38
    37) And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?
    38) Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

  26. 27-28 Jesus told them, “You’re all going to feel that your world is falling apart and that it’s my fault. There’s a Scripture that says, I will strike the shepherd; The sheep will go helter-skelter. “But after I am raised up, I will go ahead of you, leading the way to Galilee.”

Ever have “one of those days”? It seems that is all I have. I wonder sometimes, what I am doing wrong.
Most of my days don’t look like a page fresh out of a magazine for simple living. Sometimes they’re messy and full, and I can hardly keep up. The to-do list doesn’t get done, again, and I feel I am always a few steps behind. Pressures build. I feel hurried and stressed. Battling defeat and discouragement, wondering why I can’t just get it together.

So, it could be I am meant to be in chaos at times. I know this is a bit out of context but it could be God wants us to be in the chaos for a while. It could be a test or training for a life event that will stretch us to new limits. Either way, if we understand that we are His children and He has our best interest in mind, we can make it through anything.

  27. 10 – 11 “And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.”

We would love to excuse sin by denying any preconception. It’s easier to deny any chance of planning to sin, and say it was an accident or it just happened.

Sin doesn’t just happen. It starts with a small thought or idea, once we dwell on it for a while, it goes to the heart, becomes a desire, and to most will soon become an action.

Judas wasn’t out walking and somehow ending up at the chief priests, and they forced him to betray Jesus. The word of God says; “WENT”. He dwelt on the thought, desired the thought, and eventually put the thought into action. Verse 11 says, he “SOUGHT”! He conceived a plan! He meditated on it! He craved it!

My touch bible app says that word: “went” is defined as to go away in order to follow anyone.

When we choose to put certain thoughts into action, we are choosing to follow someone other than God. Typically our own will. We must keep our thoughts on those of the Lord; not allowing them to proceed into desires and actions.

Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When we think about what is good, desire what is acceptable, and crave the perfect Will of God, working for The Kingdom of God will be truly rewarding!

  28. 27 And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

We should cover our Pastor and Sis Watts in prayer daily as the enemy would love to destroy our leadership and scatter us. But God forbid! Pray for the harvest as we pray for Pastor and his family.

  29. 3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
9 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

At my job at the bank, I see what people put value on. From their conversations to talking about what they spend their hard earned money on. It is very eye opening to see what people pay to do. I thought about this when I read this passage. This woman knew what she was doing. She knew the value of what she was pouring on. Yet was it all that she had? An alabaster box is made of alabaster stone found in Egypt. But the oil, Spikenard, is very interesting. It is primarily used as an oil to relax the mind and body. it mixes well with, get this, frankincense and myrrh.
    What does all this mean?
When she broke the box, it could not be put back together. Once she did it, she was committed to do the rest. Second, Jesus probably had already used the oils that the wise men gave him when he was a child, yet the third element, spikenard, was missing until the very end.
she was preparing him for His death.

What do we have a value that we can give to Jesus? Is our time, talent, and money valued at such a price? Can we truly afford not to give to God. What can we do to serve the Kingdom of God?

  30. I Love To Worship The Lord
    61-62
To this Jesus made no reply
Then the high Priest asked him are you theMessiah the Son of God Jesus said i am and you will see me sitting at the right hand of God and returning to earth in the clouds of heaven

  31. 62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

In the Old testament he revealed himself as I Am when he spoke to Moses and that he should tell the people of Israel that I Am had sent him. Now on the new He is still is the same I Am but the people do not recognize and reject him. Today he IS the I AM for us whatever you need Him to be He is.

  32. 34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

  33. “The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭14:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    WOW!
    I am speechless
    A.l.M.A.S.

  34. 8 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

39 And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

40 And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

Watch and Pray!!! If we knew a burglar was going to come into our home and steal I know I would make sure that the burglar wouldn’t step near my home. Why is it so hard for many to pray and watch over their OWN SOUL!!! We all know the devil wants to destroy, kill, and steal so why would we let him do that to us!!! Our bodies is the temple of God. We can’t let the burglar “Satan” come into our temple and do whatever He wants!!!!

Always be alert and not giving place to the enemy!!! He is deceitful and ready to take us with him to hell!!! Our lives can literally be changed in 24 hours. We’re not guaranteed tomorrow! It’s not safe to be playing church. Lord help me stay focused and see with your eyes!!

  35. 7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

Jesus confirms that their will always be poor people but the difference is discovering the person’s need. You can tell something is wrong with a person by their demeanor and you can see it right off the bat. The woman saw Jesus and didn’t hesitate to come to him. She did not waste a valuable oil on Jesus, instead her investment was in Jesus himself. The best investment we can make is in the kingdom.

  36. 6 But Jesus replied, “Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me?

How many have you been criticized for going to church? for praying? for given money? Even our own family members criticize us for given our time and talent to God. All we are doing is serving God, and others seeing it as being controlled by God, the church or Pastor.
