2 And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and they which were with him;
4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the shewbread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?
5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
8 But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
14 Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
15 Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,
16 And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
17 And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
18 And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
24 But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Matthew 13:13, 15-16 KJV
The heart determines what the eyes see. One man saw a miracle and rejoiced at the goodness and mercy of a powerful God. Another man witnessed the same miracle and saw neither the magnificence of God nor the plight of the sick. He saw an opportunity to condemn.
We must be careful of the condition of our heart, for every service will be tainted by its condition. Whether we receive from God will depend on how we are watching and listening while in His presence.
Verses 31-38 MSG “Here is a simple rule of thumb for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them! If you only love the lovable, do you expect a pat on the back? Run-of-the-mill sinners do that. If you only help those who help you, do you expect a medal? Garden-variety sinners do that. If you only give for what you hope to get out of it, do you think that’s charity? The stingiest of pawnbrokers does that. “I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You’ll never—I promise—regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we’re at our worst. Our Father is kind; you be kind. “Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. Don’t condemn those who are down; that hardness can boomerang. Be easy on people; you’ll find life a lot easier. Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back—given back with bonus and blessing. Giving, not getting, is the way. Generosity begets generosity.”
Once again this goes with what we learned in Sunday School this past Sunday, where we learned that the same God who loved a cheerful giver back int he days of Moses is the same God we serve today. He is still looking for people to show their love to Him by giving without restraint-holding nothing back.
7. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
They would rather have seen someone spend the rest of their life needing healing rather than them to be healed on the sabbath day.
I understand they weren’t supposed to labor on the sabbath day, but is it really labor if all He had to do was speak and it was done?
There is power in His Word!
11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
Isn’t it weird how people that have the same ugly attitudes always find each other and hang together. That’s why when I got saved I didn’t FIT in anymore, for I didn’t do what they did, or talked the way they did, and they didn’t like me anymore. Once I became a new creature in Christ my old self was gone. Lord help us share the TRUTH with everyone so they may experience your great Mercy!!!! In Jesus Name Amen

Luke 6:12-13 KJV
Great decisions such as choosing the twelve men who are going to continue the foundation work of His kingdom, requires great prayer. He continued all night in prayer to God (Spirit) so as to be sure to get it right. There are times in our lives when we need to follow Jesus’ example to get clear direction!
Luke 6
1 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
Thankfully I have plenty of people who help me see all the flaws in my life . We must be careful to judge others until we have walked in their shoes. We never know what they have dealt with. Search me Lord lest I become a stumbling block to some other saint or sinner. In Jesus name.
Luke 6:35 (But love your enemies and be kind and do good [ doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them] and lens, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but considering nothing in return but considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense
( your reward) will be great ( rich, strong, intence, and abundant) , and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and the selfish and wicked. God loves a cheerful giver. Be merciful and compassion to them. Invoke them with blessings and pray for happiness for them. Don’t not judge them or condemn them forgive them and released. My Lord is all of these. I blessed you in the Jesus name.

God has instructed his children to learn how to go against the grain of their emotions. Not to retaliate according to how they feel but in ordanance to what is right. Many times I have had people do me wrong in the church and have wanted to say or do something that would equate the damage they did to me and Christ would remind me if this scripture and how important my witness is above my emotions at the time

The typical ………the enemy with his accusations!!!
9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
Then said JESUS……..common sense anybody? But noooo common sense eludes some, especially when to do evil is the goal…….
6:11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another one what they might do to Jesus.

DO the right thing on Monday, Tuesday, Wed. Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday, no matter what!
People is going to talk no matter what.
Overcome evil with good.
We are more than conquerors in Jesus name!

There is so much wisdom in God written in this chapter that it is hard to pick just one but vs 47-49 sums it all up. I believe because of the days ahead we must learn to be merciful, not judge, forgive and pray for those who despitefully use you. Give what you have looking for nothing in return and be quick to teach of the hope you have in Jesus.
iLove the Kingdom
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
The word “virtue” here is dunamis G1410; force (literally or figuratively); specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself): – ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.
The thing about it is, Acts 1:8 tells each and everyone of us that we should receive “dunamis” or “power” once the Holy Ghost comes upon us. This is the virtue that issued from Jesus. We have this same POWER in us today. All we have to do is learn how to let is same virtue “issue” or flow from us and enter into the needs of others.
From G1537 and G2064; to issue (literally or figuratively): – come-(forth, out), depart (out of), escape, get out, go (abroad, away, forth, out, thence), proceed (forth), spread abroad.

The LAW of The KINGDOM of GOD is “OBEDIENCE”. We see JESUS challenge traditions, and even confirm HIS own Laws. Kingdom Growth and Advancement is predicated on ONE fact; my OBEDIENCE.
JESUS reveals the weakness we avail ourselves to when we refuse or fail to obey. It is a dangerous act to HEAR and disobey. However it is very advantageous to HEAR and OBEY.
Don’t just tell JESUS what you need. Ask JESUS what you can do for HIM.

Good question.. We just heard last night that our purpose is to work. If we love God and want to please Him then we should automatically want to serve Him with joy and do the things He says. If we know Him and His desires, then we should know that He wants us to do the work of His Kingdom. In fact, this verse proves it’s what God expects from us. Not doing His work after we claim to know and love Him, baffles the Lord!

If we work and take care of His Kingdom, His church (His garden as Bro. Maratta shared with us), then He will take care of us. So the decision is simple really, it’s just about how willing we are to work for Him. After last night’s message, I say, “Sign me up!!”
22-23 “Count yourself blessed every time someone cuts you down or throws you out, every time someone smears or blackens your name to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and that that person is uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—skip like a lamb, if you like!—for even though they don’t like it, I do . . . and all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company; my preachers and witnesses have always been treated like this.

How do we lay a strong foundation to build our relationship with God on? It’s simple; obedience!
When we read the word of God or hear it preached, do we act upon it, or let it go in one ear and out the other?
Just as a relationship between a parent and a child can become unstable when there is a lot of disobedience and not a lot of listening, so can our relationship with God, when choose not to obey His word or listen to His voice.
Choose obedience, and see what God does next!

Christ justifies his disciples in a work of necessity for themselves on the sabbath day, and that was plucking the ears of corn when they were hungry. But we must take heed that we mistake not this liberty for leave to commit sin. Christ will have us to know and remember that it is his day, therefore to be spent in his service, and to his honour.

Heareth my sayings, and doeth them OR Heareth and doeth not
James 1:22-25
22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23) For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24) For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
25) But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
You can’t be just a Hearer of the Word; You have to Do It too!

Jesus was willing to break the traditions of man to meet the needs that were around Him. We must not be worried about pleasing those around us more than we are concerned about pleasing Jesus. His Kingdom coming into our lives is not always pleasing to man. We must step out of our comfort zone and be willing to pray in restaurants, grocery stores, wherever the Spirit moves on us to be compassionate and help meet a need.

“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying, ‘Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
Luke 6:41-42 NLT
It’s so easy to point out what someone else needs to do to fix their situation, but why is it so hard to concentrate that energy on our own problems. That’s why praying and reading the word of God before we even leave the house can be so crucial in our walk with God and how we minister to others. That way all those things and issues in our own lives first.

What is your foundation built on? We must build on the Word of God.

19And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
Jesus is here and able to heal all. The whole multitude sought to touch Him. I believe I’m safe to say not all of them needed physical healing but He was able to heal all. Physical healing, spiritual healing, emotional healing, financial healing; He is able to heal all!
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

These are all bad fruits, fruits of the flesh. Check out the fruits in Galatians
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, HATRED, variance, emulations, WRATH, STRIFE, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
Galatians 5:19-21 KJV
notice these are all fruits of the FLESH to put flesh in its place it needs to be done supernaturally. Think about it, you didn’t know what conviction was until The spirit of God was manifested in you. It was then when you begin to feel bad for what you were saying, what you were doing, how you were thinking. So I’m Luke it’s very clear that we take care of these people with the supernatural
Prayer and Intercession.
Before we do that we must make sure our fruits are good and to know that is also in Galatians.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Galatians 5:22-23, 25 KJV
Let’s walk in the Spirit and not worry about the adversary.

AMEN! AMEN! Our enemies need Jesus and much as we need Jesus!! We can’t be selfish and keep Jesus to ourselves.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

I learned that they where picking up corps and people said why are you picking up crops on the bbath day ang he said why did the disciples get the bread that the Priest had ?

22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.
23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
The struggle is real but the reward is great. Those up for the task of abandoning one’s desires to achieve God’s will and plan will reap greatly for the sacrifice they have sown. History like slavery and inquisitions are evidence of the cruel acts of man when they don’t accept a person or people for their beliefs. When Jesus came to bring us salvation, he was rejected, critisized, beaten, and died ultimately for our sake. He didn’t deserve the pain he endured but he did it for us. So that when people don’t want to sit with us, eat with us, do business with us, it’s okay because it’s not necessarily us that they are against or offended by, but rather the Jesus we serve. Separation from sinful men isn’t so hard when they already are repulsed by us. Their however is a bit of temptation to change our ways to “fit in” or bend morals to be “cool”. The truth is what is cool now will burn later in hell. The coolest thing we can to is represent Jesus no matter how enticing the things of this world may lure us. We are blessed people and can rejoice for we know this is not our home and we hunger for heaven with our Savior, Jesus.
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
The Word of God is the foundation for every stage in life. In it is laid a plan for you to follow. According to his commands and words you can have a strong foundation for your life.
re went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

Always honor God and make him first.
9Then Jesus said to his critics, “I have a question for you. Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?”
Just because it’s Sunday doesn’t mean you are exempt from sin, pain, or injury. We need healing on a daily basis. God doesn’t take the day off on Sunday to let us suffer. Let us not assume the only day God does miracles and healings are on Sunday.
12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
If Jesus, the one who is ALL and knows ALL, prayed before making a choice. Why do we think we are smart enough on our own to make choices that will affect our lives?
WE are to be CHRIST-LIKE, then we too should pray, pray without ceasing.
