Luke 8

And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.

26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.

27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.

28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)

30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.

31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.

32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.

33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.

35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.

38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,

39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:

42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.

50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.

52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.

53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.

54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.

55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.

56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

  1. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.

The devils that possessed this man recognized immediately whom Christ is!!! While His own disciples couldn’t recognize Him while they walked after His Resurrection!!!! That’s one thing that always surprised me from the man in the sinagoges to the man in the tombs everyone of those demons called Jesus by His name!!! They did not hesitated. I read a sign that made me think it said atheism is temporary FOR EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW AND EVERY TONGUE CONFESS THAT JESUS IS GOD!!!!

  2. What an awesome God we serve. A God who thought we were worth dying for, a God who takes the time to give us stories for better understanding, a God who even the winds and sea obey, a God who saves and delivers, a God whose simple touch can heal years of sickness and a God who simply says “….Just trust me and everything will be all right…”.

Philippians 3:15-21 MSG says “So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it. Stick with me, friends. Keep track of those you see running this same course, headed for this same goal. There are many out there taking other paths, choosing other goals, and trying to get you to go along with them. I’ve warned you of them many times; sadly, I’m having to do it again. All they want is easy street. They hate Christ’s Cross. But easy street is a dead-end street. Those who live there make their bellies their gods; belches are their praise; all they can think of is their appetites. But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.”

  3. 5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

This is our responsibility. We are the sower, we’re not completely responsible for the ground and which we so, we are just called to sow seeds people the Bible tells us that if they don’t receive it we are to wipe the dust off of her feet and move forward, and sharing the gospel can be discouraging at times when people don’t receive this beautiful message but we have to continue to sow the seed for the people who will receive it with gladness in their heart.

  4. Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God. He took his twelve disciples with him, along with some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases. Among them were Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons; Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s business manager; Susanna; and many others who were contributing from their own resources to support Jesus and his disciples.
    Luke 8:1‭-‬3 NLT

Jesus wasn’t going around asking for money, but they never went with out a need being met. People we’re invested into the vision. They were committed to the ministry of Jesus Christ with their time, talent, or treasure.

  5. 16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

  6. St. Luke 8:35, “Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, siting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.”

2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

HE is the Prince of Peace.
So thankful for the Peace of JESUS today!

  7. While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; TROUBLE NOT the Master. But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
    Luke 8:49‭-‬50 KJV
Trouble not the Master the people said but as soon as Jesus heard it, He ministered to the man. In other words, Jesus was saying, it’s no trouble I’m here to help! First He addresses the man’s fear because fear is the enemy of faith. Without faith it’s impossible to please him…. so Jesus tells the man to Simply believe! Faith must over take our fears. We must believe Jesus is greater than anything else that could happen.

  8. THY KINGDOM COME
    KINGDOM SOIL

Great is the revelation and understanding that we are made from the dust of the earth. Dust is extremely dry dirt, rocks are formed from extremely dry dust. Now consider this; if my body is made from dust, then I must also have the desire to water the dust to make it fertile soil.

In the WORD of GOD the Holy Ghost is referenced as a well of water. The best way to prepare soil is to water it. So every time I pray in the SPIRIT then I am conditioning myself to receive “The SEED” which is “The WORD of GOD”.

KINGDOM SOIL is well conditioned by prayer in the SPIRIT.

We must evaluate ourselves daily what type of soil we are based on JESUS words.

I am GOOD Ground to receive your WORD JESUS.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo

  9. 38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

When we receive our miracle, our healing, our restoration, God expects to be glorified. He expects for us to GO and tell everyone the goodness of what He’s done for you. While we have the chance in these last days to openly express our gratitude to God and spread His good news, we must proclaim it all to anyone who would hear. GO in peace today with His favor and share the good things God has done for you.

I think it’s interesting to note the man who had the legion cast from him so desperately wanted to stay with Jesus and He said no. It’s not that He didn’t want Him but that God had a greater purpose. I think sometimes after people receive a miracle they try to ride it as a means to cling to Jesus and then fall away because the high or moment of gratitude wears off. But it’s because that’s not the purpose God had in mind. Yes we should let our faith rise high from our miracle and let it flourish, but we were meant to GO like Jesus sent this man. God is sending us knowing we’ve been made whole in Him. God makes us whole by completing us with His holiness, hence He’s with us always, always sanctifying us and giving us strength. GO today in Jesus Name!

  10. Luke 8:5-6(English Amp) A sower went out to sow seed; and as he sowed, some fell along the traveled path and was trodden underfoot, and the birds of the air ate it up. [6] And some [seed] fell on the rock, and as soon as it sprouted, it withered away because it had no moisture. It’s our responsibility to go sow seed to people. God wants to spread the gospel to everyone that we pass. But some people will listen , But others want, Keeping on trying there hope in Jesus.

  11. Luke 8
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

    Patience
the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

When we are sowing the seed we not this world w must be patient. Results do not come immediately. The spirit makes intercession for the lost. If we will continue to through the seed there will be a harvest. Keep reaching for the lost. Keep watering the field with your tears intercession. You will bring forth fruit. In Jesus name.

  12. For the man in the tombs of Gadarene much was done: he was delivered of a legion of demons, in his right mind and no doubt so thankful to God. He went about telling the city what God had done and it made me remember yesterday’s blog…

Luke 7:42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

  13. Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
    Luke 8:39 KJV

    Go and tell❤
Life restored, a sound mind, peace, joy, strength, love!! What a merciful GOD we serve. Even this man that was healed knew that Jesus is GOD!

  14. And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
    Luke 8:2‭-‬3 KJV

Even from the beginning of Christianity, there were those who forsook all and followed Jesus in His ministry (the disciples) and those who ministered by giving of their substance. Among the latter were the man who owned the donkey (for the triumphal entry); the man who owned the upper room (for the last supper); Martha, Mary, and Lazarus (who provided for and shelter); the above listed women; and “many others.”

The work of God always requires laborers and finance. To minister by going is only possible because others minister by giving. Though we may not know the names of all those who gave, we know that they were as necessary in the harvest as those who went.

We must be sensitive to the Lord, so that no matter how He calls us to minister, we can hear and obey.

  15. 10 And He said, To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

  16. 15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

We are meant to keep the word close to us, to have it written in our hearts, but we are not meant to keep hidden there for only us to see. His truth is meant to be spread all across the world and we have been called to be the ones to spread it.

It’s like having a great meal prepared and you come to the table and you sit there and you eat and eat and eat, but you never share it with anyone, you never invite anyone else to the table, and you become so full that you’re sick and don’t want it anymore.
If you would have invited others to the table, if you would have shared, you would still have room for more.
Go share, invite, give of yourself.

This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine!

  17. Luke 8
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

  18. It’s not in the touch.

Having been able to grow up in the church. There are many “churchisms.” One of which we say all to often, that we were touch by God, and we felt Him. And although that is good that we can feel the moving of God’s Spirit, did it really change us, or did we just have a “feel good,” moment? I’ not saying that we don’t need those movements in church. Yet Jesus told the woman that it was because of her FAITH, that healed her. It was her faith that if she could just get a hold of Jesus, that that is all that it would take for her to get her healing. So it’s not in the touch that we feel, although it is important, it is our faith in the action that releases the healings and blessings.

    Let’s Grow POFW

  19. 16“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house.

Are you a lamp that is shining or is turned off? As servants of God, we all should be shining for others to notice. Others should be able to tell if you are righteous and serving God. In time, they will feel comfortable to come to you and ask you about God. A burned out lamp, no one can see you or what you represent.

  20. iLove the Kingdom
2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils

Wow, in today’s society folks would’ve just said this lady had 7 disorders:
    *Bi-Polar
    *ADHD
    *Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
    *Schizoaffective Disorder
    *Psychosis
    *Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
    *Trichotillomania

Nevertheless, this lady named Mary Magdalene had 7 demons living inside her that Jesus cast out. Once Jesus cast out these demons, Mary was a faithful follower of Jesus.

  21. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

  22. “When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Develops don’t and can’t stabd a chance. When they see the face of God. And if they only hear about him being around. They must flee. They have no choice. But to run. Even we can walk in the spirit to ponitbif where demons fall to their knees and beg for mercy.
    String. Faith.

  23. 3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

God has blessed each of us with abilities, talents, and giftings. He has equipped us with what we need to minister to the people we come in contact with. We must not despise test and trials we go through, they may be happening to us so that we will have substance to minister to someone else going through the same or similar situations.

We must remember I Thessaloanis 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

God is going to us our “test” to become our testimonies.

  24. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

God performed many miracles, this particular miracle God questioned because he didn’t see what person in faith received a miracle because he felt his power come out of him, it was a simple reach out and touch his garment and her great faith caused the miracle of healing her instantly. It’s not a coincidence that she was healed it was her persistence in reaching out to God in faith that healed her. God is an on time God I believe in faith all he has in store will come to pass and I receive it in Jesus name.

  25. 1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

We are here told what Christ made the constant business of his life, it was teaching the gospel. Tidings of the kingdom of God are glad tidings, and what Christ came to bring. Certain women attended upon him who ministered to him of their substance. It showed the mean condition to which the Saviour humbled himself, that he needed their kindness, and his great humility, that he accepted it. Though rich, yet for our sakes he became poor.

  26. 17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

NO THING IS HIDDEN FROM GOD, YOU CAN RUN BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE!!!

  27. The Word of God is the Single most important seed we will ever come into contact with. Our foods comes from seed but the Word of God is more important than food breath or anything else.

Let us learn to kid it in our hearts learn it teach it and use it.

  28. The Thorn

14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Jesus describes life’s worries, riches and pleasures as thorns that keep those who initially respond to the gospel from reaching spiritual maturity. We may tend to think of thorns as ugly things that cry out to be weeded out from our lives. And we also may look at those thorns as the trials and difficulties of life. But Jesus tells us riches and pleasures -the things we want most out of life- are also true thorns. Using the garden analogy, good things can dominate a garden, taking it over so other plants flourish. Even these good things are “thorns”. It takes a discerning gardener to know which plants to encourage and which to control. It could be our garden patches, certain plants may have choked out our good spiritual intentions, by blocking the sun and stealing nutrients from what we wanted to grow the most. Mere neglect can lead to a crop of thorns.

  29. I learned that there was a man that had demands and then jesus cast out the demands in to pigs and they all fell in the water

  30. 5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Things to consider in our before service prayers.. consider this parabale as a guide on what to pray for before the seed gets sown. Pray for the hearts of people that the Word falls on good ground and gives fruit. That the word sown gets good roots and that it does not fall among thorns
