Luke 10

After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:

And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,

11 Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.

15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.

23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:

24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

  1. And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
    Luke 10:5‭-‬6 KJV

Does peace rest in our houses… our hearts? If not, then we must find the Son of Peace and invite Him back in. A house divided cannot stand. Where there is no peace, there is no abiding witness. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. If He reigns in our hearts, then His peace should be manifest in our homes.

  2. Verses 1-2 MSG “Later the Master selected seventy and sent them ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he intended to go. He gave them this charge: “What a huge harvest! And how few the harvest hands. So on your knees; ask the God of the Harvest to send harvest hands.” Everyone has something they can, if they are willing, contribute, give, or offer for the work of the Kingdom. We talked about the unity of the body in G-Force yesterday and how working together we can be on God’s team.

  3. 27 So he answered and said, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.

  4. 25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

  5. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast REVEALED THEM UNTO BABES: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
    Luke 10:21 KJV
The key to receiving revelation from God is our attitude. We must humble ourselves and become as babes not knowing it all, hungering and thirsting for His truth!

  6. Luke 10:5-6 (English Amp) Whatever house you enter first say, Peace be to this house-hold ! Freedom from all the distressed that result from sin be with this family. [6] And if anyone [ worthy] of peace and blessedness you wish shall come back to you. And stay on in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keeping moving from house to house. To have peace in your home you must invite and find the Son of Peace. Jesus will aloud peace in the mist of your storms. Jesus is your answer ! Halaula.

  7. 2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

Our work is never done, our job is to reach others and then teach them how to reach others in a perpetual cycle of getting the gospel to every person. It’s a tasks God gives and appoints to those he trust. It’s the honor of loving others to be a royal preisthood.

  8. Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.”
    Luke 10:16 NLT

  9. 16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

  10. 9:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lams among wolves.

12 years ago , when I the Lord came into my life, I started to experience this verse” lambs among wolves”… I couldn’t understand back then… and my question was why Lord, why? Now I do.
All I can think of is the wird:
    HUMILITY.

  11. THY KINGDOM COME
    KINGDOM POWER

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

When we receive the gift of the Holy Ghost we are given the power of GOD. Which in turn is the power to dispel fear from our lives.

“Nothing shall by any means hurt you”.

This statement alone should release us from any kind of fear. We only fear what could harm us physically or emotionally, we should only fear what can harm us Spiritually. (JESUS)

The revelation of Power grants us the opportunity to evangelize to reach and teach the lost under the power of GOD.

What will we accomplish for JESUS when we realize that we have this POWER. Lets GO serve in HIS Kingdom with HIS KINGDOM POWER.

  12. 18-20 Jesus said, “I know. I saw Satan fall, a bolt of lightning out of the sky. See what I’ve given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the Enemy. No one can put a hand on you. All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God’s authority over you and presence with you. Not what you do for God but what God does for you—that’s the agenda for rejoicing.”

Sometimes, we can get so involved in our “duties” that we forget the little things. Maybe on outreach, we walk thru hell’s playground and do not even realize it. Another person at another time may not be able to walk the same path. Do we take His protection for granted? I know that I have. As the last line states; it is not what we do for God – but what God does for us – especially, when we don’t even know He is doing it.

  13. When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.
    Luke 10:17‭, ‬19 NLT
We have the Authority heal the same rebuke demons any many more we want you will to be done JESUS

  14. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE PRIZE!!!
    HALELUJAH!!!

  15. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

A humble attitude keeps us from becoming proud or even haughty in utilizing the power given us from God over sickness or devils. Jesus did not brag about what he did, rather he told them to not reveal what he had done or told them to go show themselves to the priest. He never lifted himself up. Rejoice over being born again and having your name written in the book of life!

  16. 29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR or love anyone that you have the chance to show mercy.

Mercy: kindness or good will towards the miserable and the afflicted. joined with a desire to help them.

The crazy thing about loving your neighbor is sometimes in the middle of your affliction you have to show mercy to others even when you need it yourself. Love is not conditional or optional it is a requirement in the Kingdom. The moment we all learn to truly love there will be nothing that can stop us because we will be in unity and submission.

  17. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Where is your faith at? Having the power of God to do great works is amazing and wonderful; and we should do them because it’s what He sent us to do. But we have to make sure we love Jesus above all else. More than any mighty works, we have to love the Savior who died for us so we could have that power.

  18. Be a Good Neighbor!!!!

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

God is so simple, just go show mercy to your neighbor. Talk kindly, share some love, show them JESUS!!!!

  19. Luke 10
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee

Thank you POFW for binding up my wounds.

  20. 16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

Rejection is never easy, but we must always remember it is not us that people reject when we share the Word of God, it is Him. How that must hurt Him because we know it hurts us. Obviously they dealt with this type of attitude back when Jesus walked the earth, otherwise He would never have prepared them before He sent them out with these instructions.

Share the gospel, walk away if they don’t receive it and share with someone else. There are hungry people out there we must find them!

  21. iLove the Kingdom
Wow, there is so much in this chapter! Let’s start by saying:
    * Jesus sends out 70 disciples (see verse #1) with power to teach and heal (see verse #9). Some denominations teach that Jesus only gave POWER to his 12 disciples and when they died, the age of the power died too. Well, according to this verse, folks believe this false doctrine are wrong, because there were at least 70 that were sent out here. Boom
*In verse #9, Jesus tells the 70 disciples to “heal” the sick in the houses they go into and to teach them the Kingdom of God is near. If we believe it is the will of God to teach the gospel to everyone, we should also believe it is the will of God for us to heal the folks we come into contact with. Notice that Jesus does not tell the 70 disciples to pray that people might be healed. Jesus commands the 70 disciples to heal the sick.
*In verse #17 the 70 returned and were amazed that the demons were subject unto them. This gives us the impression that they obeyed, and were surprised by the results. Wow, that is great! It might be hard to believe, but when Jesus sends folks out with power, results might surprise even those closest to Him. We can always rejoice in the fact that our names are written in the Book of Life!

  22. “But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:33-35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Lord, I pray that this spirit of compassion would dwell in me. Let me see the people around as You see them. And feel Your compassion.

  23. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

  24. 16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

We are called to preach the gospel, to reach the lost, to minister to the hurting, and to pray for the seed we have sown. Once we have done that, the rest is between them and God. If people choose to reject every word we said and every attempt we gave, they do not reject us, but they reject Him.
We should not allow one rejection to stop us from reaching for another soul.
We must continue to plant seed, you never know when one will begin to grow.

  25. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Your name is written down in heaven, don’t change that, stay on the path that God has specifically for you, your whole path was designed for you because God knows what kind of battles you can fight, so make God proud!

  26. 16. He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

He that heareth you heareth me!
Be careful, little mouth, what you say…

  27. 17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

We have the ability to do anything, its what we do with these abilities that counts. Jesus gives us the power to trample on scorpions and serpents and to overcome the enemy, what we do with this power is what matters. It’s the action that is taken that we should rejoice in. What’s the point of having power if your not going to use it? For in that action our names are written. You can have the know how to cast out demons and to pray but unless you use it what’s the point. The fact that we act on these abilities is somthing to rejoice in, the result of these abilities is something to rejoice in.

  28. Luke 10
23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see.
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

  29. St. Luke 10:25-28
    25) And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
    26) He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
    27) And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
    28) And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

You want to inherit eternal life?
READ the Word and DO It!

  30. “Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is crucial to understand a spiritual battle. We as leaders cannot take carnal earthy materials into a spiritual battle and expect to win.

I’d like to think He asked to leave your extra money, so their faith would be lifted, allowing the Lord to provide for their needs.

In understanding the battle is not ours but the Lords, also knowing that The Lord has already and will always provide away, we wil know we don’t neeed things of this world to make it!

  31. 23 And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see:
24 For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

We have the opportunity to hear, see ,and be apart of something greater than ourselves. We are apart of the kingdom of God and we get to serve Him and the Kingdom. It is a privilege to get to serve. Thank you Jesus for the opportunity.

  32. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”
    Luke 10:40 NLT

Distraction is a tactic that can be used by the enemy but if our own flesh is not disciplined to remain focused on Him then anything can pull our focus away. If anything can come between us and Jesus it will. We need to be tenacious in our pursuit of Him and relentless in showing Him our love and desire for him. Sever anything that may come between. I want to be so full of Jesus people can see when I end and He begins😂😍

  33. Notice that even though the harvest was great and the laborers were few, Jesus still sent them out two by two. None of them were expected to labor alone because we are always more effective when we work together in the kingdom of God… and not only for efficiencies sake. The Bible clearly declares that two are better than one, because if they fall the one can lift up the other. As important as gathering the harvest was, God still saw value in having them go together to accomplish his labor. He didn’t expect to lose any of his chosen vessels as he sent them about his labor, and he wanted them to understand the value of one another as they went about his work.

We’ve often heard the phrase that no man is an island and that is certainly true of the kingdom of God. Nothing we do is for ourselves or about ourselves… we’ve been sent to accomplish the Master’s will. It is not his will that we depend upon ourselves any more than it is his will that we exalt ourselves. Just as we prefer our brethren, or our sisters, before ourselves we should recognize and value what our fellow laborers have to offer and learn to work together to the greater glory of God. It is good and pleasant that brethren dwell together in unity, and often those bonds of appreciation are built as we labor together to accomplish his will. In Jesus name!

  34. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

I should never focus on what I was apart of or who I prayed for and they received the Holy Ghost or there healing but I must stay focused on Jesus and what he has called me to do. I must always rejoice because he saved me because has washed my sins and wrote my name in heaven.

  35. After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.

2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.

4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

Christ sent the seventy disciples, two and two, that they might strengthen and encourage one another. The ministry of the gospel calls men to receive Christ as a Prince and a Saviour; and he will surely come in the power of his Spirit to all places whither he sends his faithful servants. But the doom of those who receive the grace of God in vain, will be very fearful Those who despise the faithful ministers of Christ, who think meanly of them, and look scornfully upon them, will be reckoned as despisers of God and Christ.

  36. Josiah: 2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
God can use a willing soul. There is not a lack of souls to save, however there is need for labourers. Sinners we meet have potential. We just need to help guide them to focus their passion on things of God and not things of this world. So, let us GO WITNESS IN JESUS NAME!

  37. 41
While the Master doesappreciate all that we undertake for Him, He knows that our fist need is to sit at His feet and learn His will .

  38. 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

In the midst of life and business we must make sure to make room for the Lord. Nothing will be more valuable and full of blessing than go spend quality time with Jesus your creator.

  39. v37 And he said,He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him.Go, and do thou likewise.

The LORD’S commission to go and do likewise is never ending . The Good Samaritan saw a desperate need and did all he could to help initially; then he continued to help thereafter.
The love that GOD commands us to express toward our neighbor is not the sentimental emotion that seeks self- gratification.

  40. God’s word is true and will remain that way. We must not give in to the things of the enemy. Our God is the Lord over all. I’m thankful for the power that God gives us. We can resist the things of this world and continue to draw our strength from Jesus.

  41. The most important commandment is to love Jesus with all your heart and your soul and strength and love your neighbors like you would love your self

  42. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

The power God has given to men is in order for them to carry out his ministry for the kingdoms sake. The evicted cherub, lucifer a.k.a. satan, has been kicked out of heaven such as a bolt of lightning. The significance of it being mentioned here is that the same self seeking fault can be found in one who mistakes or discredits Gods glory or power for their own. Gods grants authority and power but if someone gets “too big for their britches” or too full of themselves and not Jesus, then they’re acting like lucifer. God allows us to cast out demons and they flee because of who we represent, not that we are anything more than a willing vessel for Jesus to operate through. Instead of boasting that we did something, we should really thank God to have the opportunity to be used and grateful to be known as his, claimed as his child.

  43. “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’d say this is a popular scripture on today’s blog.

We gotta get this through our skulls. We have all POWER OVER THE ADVERSARY. When it feels as if something is being pressed against you fear, anxiety, oppression, depression….etc. then just plead the blood of Jesus over it. Simple as that.
    Seek ye first the Kingdom!
    Get with it!

  44. 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Mary was eating the word as Jesus was explaining it. God will always be number 1.

  45. 16 Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.”

The concept of obedience. You support those in authority. Those in authority sends someone or people out to do his works. They represent whoever is in charge. Remember as Christians, you represent Jesus, our Pastor and your family.

  46. 2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

This is so true we have so much harvest to reach yet no one can do it alone. I rejoice how our church children love to go and do outreach, they think outreach is fun and I rejoice because even if they might not see the big outcome or realize what they are doing. I know God is going to reward their effort. They don’t drive but we can sure pick them up in the van and reach souls for God Kingdom. We can all do our own part in our way way from young to old.
