John 12

Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.

Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,

Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record.

18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle.

19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:

21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

33 This he said, signifying what death he should die.

34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

37 But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:

38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,

40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

41 These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.

42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

  1. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
    John 12:24 KJV

There are different kinds of seed, and every seed produces after its own kind. Good seed produces good fruit, and bad seed produces bad fruit, but no seed can produce any fruit unless it is planted.

Men are produced from seed. When Adam fell, he became corrupted with sin and all seed in him became corrupt. Thus, we were all born in sin.

Jesus, however, was not born from the seed of Adam, so He was without sin. Now, all who are planted in Him can put on His righteousness when born again.

    Rom. 6:4-5 KJV
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.

The Word is now the good seed which we possess. We must plant it in order for it to produce fruit. If we will diligently plant it, we are guaranteed a good harvest.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Is this the reason so many in the church never introduce Jesus to anyone?

We still have the freedom of speach. We must teach and teach, let your friends family coworkers know that you know who Jesus is and He is willing to help them. Don’t be afraid to confess you know Him.

John 6:44-45 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

We must lead them to the cross and how can we do it less we say we know Him ?

  3. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

A lot of people say that the Oneness doctrine it’s wrong just because Jesus spoke to the Father and prayed to the Father that sent Him. What they don’t see is that Christ said I am the Father if you seen me you have seen the Father. Also, how many times do you find yourself talking to yourself??? A lot of what happened to Jesus happened for our sakes and for the sakes of the Jews. We are the ones that needed the signs, wonders, and miracles!!!! So we may believe, and even then a lot of Jews saw the wonderful miracles that Jesus did but believed not!!! In today’s age they are still looking for the signs, wonders, and miracles; but they don’t see that the greatest miracle of all is when a life it’s changed by the baptism of the water and of the Holy Ghost!!!! So Go and spread the Good News TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION!!!!!!!

  4. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

  5. 36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

The more we spend time we Christ the brighter out path becomes. In a dark and twisted world, that is desperately needing a light, as we walk closer to the light people will draw to that light in us

  6. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

Who and what do we love more? We proclaim to love Jesus but do our actions match our words? Does our time and efforts show we choose to love and serve Jesus over everything and everyone else? Kind of reminds me of a video I saw about how you choose to live life. Are you living life with the intent to make it to heaven or with the intent to make life as best as possible for you and your future? What we value is determined by our hearts desires, problem is, our heart is deceitful and holds the issues of life. We must fall in love with Jesus everyday!

“Falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I’ve ever done!”

  7. If you love your life, you will lose it. If you give it up in this world, you will be given eternal life. If you serve me, you must go with me. My servants will be with me wherever I am. If you serve me, my Father will honor you.
    John 12:25‭-‬26

Following Jesus daily is the only way to live!! His love for us will always be greater than the things of the world. A.L.M.A.S/S.O.U.L.S is what we are here for❤❤❤❤

  8. THY KINGDOM COME
WHO IS THIS SON OF MAN?

34 The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

Convienent for us it is to look back on these passages and say that we would be able to recognize JESUS as Messiah. However, I believe it to be similar today that JESUS is in the midst of us and many fail to recognize that The Kingdom of GOD is with us.

How oft have we in times of trouble, despair or even fear cry out to JESUS and he deliver us or make a way for us? How oft have we felt and experienced HIS Glorious presence, how oft have we heard JESUS speak to us through the Gifts of The SPIRIT. Yet many did not recognize that JESUS the King was among us.

I believe we will see the Power of GOD every time we seek HIM. May JESUS help us prepare our hearts to recognize HIM as we gather in Prayer for this weekend that we may KNOW HIM.

  9. St. John 12:35-36 & 46
    35) Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
    36) While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

    46) I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

  10. 35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

“And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.”
    ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus warned them that His time on earth wouldn’t be much longer. Just as He has warned us that our time left on this earth will be short, for He is coming back and when He does, His light will be removed from this earth.
We must believe on Jesus and share His light while we still can!

  11. e, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
    J.soliz

  12. John 12:47-48 ( English version ) If anyone hears My teaching and fails to observe them [ does not keep them, But disregards them, it is not I who judges him. For I have not come to judge and condemn and to pass sentence and to inflict penalty on the world, But to save the world.[48] Anyone who rejects Me and persistently sets Me at naught, refusing to accept My teachings, had his judge [ however] ; for the [ very] message that I have spoken will itself judge and convict him at the last day. I know that His commandments is ( means) enternal life. I am so glad that I find Jesus he could of let me die, But he save me. Following in love with Jesus is the best thing that I did.

  13. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Let us lift HIM UP!!!! That YOU draw your creation unto THEE OOO LORD!!!

  14. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
    John 12:42‭-‬43 KJV
Here is an example of those who believed on Jesus but were not saved. Their faith was without works and was dead! They believed but they didn’t confess their belief. They were afraid of what man would say if they were to confess Him. The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
    Proverbs 29:25 KJV
Lord deliver us from the fear of man that keeps us from testifying about You! What a sad testimony that these chief rulers “loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.”. Let’s live to make Him happy, never mind what anyone else thinks!

  15. Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.

3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,

5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

    10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

Christ had formerly blamed Martha for being troubled with much serving. But she did not leave off serving, as some, who when found fault with for going too far in one way, peevishly run too far another way; she still served, but within hearing of Christ’s gracious words. Mary gave a token of love to Christ, who had given real tokens of his love to her and her family. God’s Anointed should be our Anointed. Has God poured on him the oil of gladness above his fellows, let us pour on him the ointment of our best affections. In Judas a foul sin is gilded over with a plausible pretence. We must not think that those do no acceptable service, who do it not in our way. The reigning love of money is heart-theft. The grace of Christ puts kind comments on pious words and actions, makes the best of what is amiss, and the most of what is good. Opportunities are to be improved; and those first and most vigorously, which are likely to be the shortest. To consult to hinder the further effect of the miracle, by putting Lazarus to death, is such wickedness, malice, and folly, as cannot be explained, except by the desperate enmity of the human heart against God. They resolved that the man should die whom the Lord had raised to life. The success of the gospel often makes wicked men so angry, that they speak and act as if they hoped to obtain a victory over the Almighty himself.

  16. John 12

42Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Wow, lets take this to the 21st Century. This scripture is telling me that there are probably folks in all kinds of denominations around the world that see the Pentecostal Movement and believe but yet refuse to leave their denomination because they care for praise of men rather than praise from God. I pray the denominational strongholds would be broken down in the name of Jesus.

  18. 44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

Do not hear the words of the Lord, but be doers. A dream is only a dream, but a dream becomes reality when there is action that is put with it. All the things we see and use on a daily basis, someone has dreamed about. Cars, computers, the monitary system. Besides life and eternal Life, the things we use every day were nothing more than dreams. So again I say put action with your faith and see what God does. Yes He gives the increase, but only to those who have and are preparing for the increase.

  19. 9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

    10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

The world might not come directly for you faith, but if it can kill your miracle?! He would destroy the witness by which God is drawing the lost to His kingdom.

He would let you go to heaven if he could stop revival. Let us be vigilant, not giving place to the devil.

  20. 3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Simple thought came to mind… is your worship one that fills the house where God is with a sweet odor and incense? Is our worship one that God is pleased by and remembers. Is my worship good enough or worthy of a King?

  21. 9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

    10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;

Many people came to see not only Jesus, but Lazarus whom Jesus had just raised from the dead.

The miracles that Jesus was doing was being noised abroad, by word of mouth to people all around, and they were coming to see who it was that was doing all these things, and many believed.

What are we speaking? what are we talking about? Are we sharing what Jesus is doing every service at POFW? Are we sharing the good news to those we meet every day? If not we should be and we need to be broadcasting what Jesus is doing. This will bring people to see this Jesus that is being talked about … and many will be added to the church daily.

  22. 44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

    Amen!

  23. “Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭12:35-36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must the light in this dark world. We have been commissioned to go and make disciples.
Oh that the church would arise
Oh that we would see with Jesus’ eyes
We could show the world Heaven
Show what it means to be His
To be formed in His likeness
Show them that they have a purpose
To be salt and light in the world, in the world
To be salt and light in the worldOh that the church would arise

  24. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

My life on this earth is only temp not permanent. My life will be lived according to his Holy Word, and I’m due Time I will see my father which is in Heaven!

  25. For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.

Amén we never know when it’s the last opportunity we’re going to talk to Jesus, read His Word. We can’t take nothing for granted! We can’t let nothing replace our time with God!! Life is to short to be playing around with the things of God!! We must be in fire for Him and His Kingdom! We never know when our last breathe may be!! Jesus Help Me!!!

  26. Verses 35-36 MSG “Jesus said, “For a brief time still, the light is among you. Walk by the light you have so darkness doesn’t destroy you. If you walk in darkness, you don’t know where you’re going. As you have the light, believe in the light. Then the light will be within you, and shining through your lives. You’ll be children of light.” If your struggling/stumbling around in the dark….seek and follow the light of the world…..Jesus.

John 8:12 AMP “Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, “[a]I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

  27. 6Not that he cared for the poor—he was a thief, and since he was in charge of the disciples’ money, he often stole some for himself.

Judas was a thief, he only saw how much money the perfume could bring. He probably wanted the perfume for himself. Mary saw it as being worth it for Jesus. If she had more, she would have given more. She had a burning desire to be with Jesus.

  28. Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,

5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?

6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

Judas was the one in charge of the purse, caring the price of things only by means of how much money you could get for it, and he sold out Jesus for thirty pieces of silver.

The love of money is the root of all evil.

  29. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

  30. Jesus provides a good reminder here that ‘If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.’

The heart of his followers should always be the heart of a servant desiring to please the master. Unlike those we may be required to serve in the world, our Master truly knoweth all things!

When we are troubled, we can look to his example. ‘Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name.’

Jesus answered his very own question… which was likely asked aloud for our benefit. He first expressed the desire that any of us may feel when in the midst of trouble; that God might spare us from the ordeal. He reminds us however that when we are troubled, our first desire even in the midst all the potential confusion is to glorify his name! Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done!

  31. 46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Believe in the Lprd and He will guide the way. He will make the escape for you and your situation
