John 15

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.

22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.

23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Jesus Christ is the Vine, the true Vine. The union of the human and Divine natures, and the fulness of the Spirit that is in him, resemble the root of the vine made fruitful by the moisture from a rich soil. Believers are branches of this Vine. The root is unseen, and our life is hid with Christ; the root bears the tree, diffuses sap to it, and in Christ are all supports and supplies. The branches of the vine are many, yet, meeting in the root, are all but one vine; thus all true Christians, though in place and opinion distant from each other, meet in Christ. Believers, like the branches of the vine, are weak, and unable to stand but as they are borne up. The Father is the Husbandman. Never was any husbandman so wise, so watchful, about his vineyard, as God is about his church, which therefore must prosper. We must be fruitful. From a vine we look for grapes, and from a Christian we look for a Christian temper, disposition, and life. We must honour God, and do good; this is bearing fruit. The unfruitful are taken away. And even fruitful branches need pruning; for the best have notions, passions, and humours, that require to be taken away, which Christ has promised to forward the sanctification of believers, they will be thankful, for them. The word of Christ is spoken to all believers; and there is a cleansing virtue in that word, as it works grace, and works out corruption. And the more fruit we bring forth, the more we abound in what is good, the more our Lord is glorified. In order to fruitfulness, we must abide in Christ, must have union with him by faith. It is the great concern of all Christ’s disciples, constantly to keep up dependence upon Christ, and communion with him. True Christians find by experience, that any interruption in the exercise of their faith, causes holy affections to decline, their corruptions to revive, and their comforts to droop. Those who abide not in Christ, though they may flourish for awhile in outward profession, yet come to nothing. The fire is the fittest place for withered branches; they are good for nothing else. Let us seek to live more simply on the fulness of Christ, and to grow more fruitful in every good word and work, so may our joy in Him and in his salvation be full.

  2. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Many miss this because they believe that they are saved by grace, not by works. They only have a miss conception of what grace is, and here it is time. It is only by the Grace of God, that we are not destroyed instantly in sin, but rather we are given a chance to repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

  3. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
    John 15:22 KJV

Every testimony, witness, and invitation is important regardless of the response of the hearer. You have never failed when you share God with others. They may turn your invitation down, disbelieve what you’ve said, or slam the door in your face, but you have sown the seed in the will of God. Some hear unto salvation, and some unto condemnation, but the Word never comes back void.

  4. 16. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

    John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

How exciting but humbling it is to know that out of all the people He could have chosen, He chose us!

It’s also very challenging to see His Chosen reject Him and walk away to follow other paths…

  5. Verse 4 MSG “Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me.” Same verse AMP “Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.” Remain in the Lord and hold fast to his word as Hebrews 10:23 AMP says “Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];”.

  6. You did not choose me. I chose you and sent you out to produce fruit, the kind of fruit that will last. Then my Father will give you whatever you ask for in my name.
    John 15:16 CEV
    Praise GOD❤

His love for me is beautiful!!! No greater LOVE💖💖 Why search anywhere else❤

You are the one who put me together inside my mother’s body, and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this I have no doubt. Nothing about me is hidden from you! I was secretly woven together out of human sight, but with your own eyes you saw my body being formed. Even before I was born, you had written in your book everything about me.
    Psalms 139:13‭-‬16 CEV

  7. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it asides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. Am the vine , you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing.

  8. 7
The lesson is clear there is joy in heaven over one sinner who repents , but there is no joy over the ninety-nine sinners who have nerve been convicted of their condition . Verse 7 does not actually mean that there are some persons who need no repentance . All men are sinners , and all must repent in order to be saved. The verse describes those who ,as far they see themselves, need no repentance.

    8,10
The woman in this story may represent the Holy Sprirt ,asking the lost with the lamp of the Word of God . The nine silver coins speak of the unrepentant , whereas the One lost coin suggests the man who is willing to confess that he is out of touch with God . In the previous account the sheep wandered away by its own volition . A coin is an inanimate object and might suggest the lifeless condition of a sinner . He is dead in sins .
The woman continues to search carefully for the coin until she finds it .then she call her friends and neighbors to celebrate with her . The Los coin which she had found brought her more true pleasure than the nine which had never been lost . So it is with God the sinner who humbles himself and confesses his lost condition brings joy to the heart of God . He obtains no such joy from those who never feel their need for repentance .

  9. John 3-4 (English Amp ) You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the Word which I have given you [ the teachings I have given you [ the teachings I have discussed with you].[4] Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you, [ Live in Me, and I will live in you]. Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in ( being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. Keeping on doing the things that God has commanded you to do. The more you get from Jesus the more fruit you will bear. Thank you Jesus.

  10. 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

To bear fruit, we must learn to connected to Christ consistently. The fruit of righteousness and of the Spirit. We are be drawing to Him everyday and bearing that fruit is vital to our daily walk and our salvation.

  11. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

  12. Now ye are CLEAN through the WORD which I have spoken unto you. John 15:3 KJV

There is a beautiful cleansing effect upon the soul when we spend time in the Word of God. The apostle Paul said it is like the washing of water by the Word. It is no ordinary book. It is life giving and thought changing. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
    Hebrews 4:12 KJV
It renews our minds: And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
    Ephesians 4:23‭-‬24 KJV
Lord grant us a greater love for your Word like the psalmist said: O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
    Psalms 119:97 KJV

  13. 15:5 I am the vine, he are the branches: he that another’s in me, and I in him, the same bringers forth much fruit: for without me Texan do nothing.
    —-
    Without him I am lost
Without him there is no hope
Without hi, I can’t do anything
    Without him, i’ll Go insane
Without him. My fam is and I would be lost.

  14. John 15
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

  15. 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

  16. iLove the Kingdom
    “He’s Still Working on Me

    He’s still working on me
To make me what I need to be
It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
How loving and patient He must be
‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me

The scripture says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.” I looked up the word “husbandman” today and interestingly enough I found out that “husbandman” is “Georgos”. This is where the English names “George and Georgia” originate from. The word “Husbandman” means, “Land Worker”. This illustrates the fact that the Father (or the Husbandman) is at work on us. We need to be pruned in order to bear much fruit. If God just left us alone, we would have weeds growing out of us, we would be unsightly, and unproductive.

God is at “Work” on each of us. Let’s follow His example and Work for the Kingdom.

  17. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

We are chosen to bear fruit.
The key to bearing fruit it to abide in Him! Just as fruit cannot bear itself apart from the vine, we cannot bear fruit apart from God!

    He chose us.
When He could have chosen anyone else in the world, He chose us and that’s something we must never take for granted, but with our whole heart do what He chose us to do!

At the end of this verse, He once again gives us a promise of answered prayers, if we do what He has called us to do.

“But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭22:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  18. John 15 Message

-8 “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.

9-10 “I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you keep my commands, you’ll remain intimately at home in my love. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.

    At Home in His Presence
    Without Him I Am Nothing
He is the Source of my strength,
His Word is the cupboard I can go into daily. I’m at home on His presence.

You ever go into the home of someone and their cupboards are bursting with everything and anything. A close friend will even open the cupboard and saiy take what you need I have plenty. I had a friend who was the queen of coupons. The store would pay her to purchase their products. She opened her cupboards to me one day and said take what you need . This is how God’s storehouse is. He offers everything we need . His Love is abundant! His peace and understanding. He says in the first verses He is the Vine the source . Then He says make myself at home. He supplies all we need . I want to stay close to Him for in Him is life. Thank you Lord .

  19. When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you.
    John 15:8‭, ‬16‭-‬16‭, ‬18‭-‬20 NLT
The read this story about a girl name Rachel Scott who love JESUS . She went around her school boldly me telling people about Jesus Christ she even did a school project explaining the love of Jesus Christ she touched many. And many hate she soon died in a school shooting not just because she was there but because the shooters hate because she was a Christian still today even though she died her story still counting to touch people her relationship with Jesus is written in her journal
I shared this story because Rachel was not afraid to share the gospel like her we all something get caught up in the worldly things the problem is some of us don’t come out we get so caught up in what the world wants us to be that JESUS is just a emergency button we only push the button when we want or need something .
We need to have a relationship with God if we focusing on God kingdom and not the world kingdom not else would matter
JESUS be the center of it all

  20. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

We sing the song, “I am a friend of God; He calls me friend,” but are we truly known by Him as His friend if we are not obeying His Word? One commandment given here is to love one another and that means everyone, including your enemies, your brothers and sisters at church, everyone! How can we claim to love the lost or even love Him when we can’t even love the people around us? I recently watched a message where Bro. Cortt Chavis taught that we’ll never grow as a body or as individuals if we cant love. Because what we do will be in vain without love, without God (because God is love). Verse ten of this chapter says if we keep His commandments, we’ll abide in His love (i.e. abide in Him).

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

We can’t do anything without God, we can’t do anything worth while without His love. Our obedience determines what happens to us as a branch: we’ll either be cut or pruned to produce more fruit. We’ll either abide in Him/His love and be called His friend or not be known and cut.

Teach us to love like You Jesus!

  21. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

The power of the Word of God in our lives – His word leads us, guides us, gives us life. We find direction, wisdom, knowledge, understanding – we find life.

Psalms 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Psalms 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

  22. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Again he emphasizes love. It is a command. How can we be like Jesus and hate anyone. The world will hate us but our response must be to point them to the source of our love and our hope we have in Him….eternal life.

  23. THY KINGDOM COME
    FRIENDS

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

The Kingdom of GOD is not just some neat club or company of people. We learn from these words of JESUS that HE is The KING of HIS Kingdom. Our FAITH in GOD reveals that JESUS gave HIS own life so that we can live.

JESUS laid down HIS life and thereby established himself as King. In JESUS invitation to relationship, JESUS identifies as our FRIEND. In this unique union of FRIENDS, JESUS leaves the choice to us.

JESUS invited “ALL” to be FRIENDS, when HE laid down HIS life for “ALL”. The invitation to be FRIENDS is accepted by us when we do whatsoever HE commands or as we walk in obedience to HIS WORD and WILL.

JESUS expresses HIS Love to us by the laying down of HIS life and HIS Kingdom requires that we express our Love to HIM by doing whatsoever HE commands.

Never will we find a greater opportunity to be FRIENDS than with JESUS.

  24. Offense if Satans defense

Offense: annoyance or resentment brought about by a perceived insult to or disregard for oneself or one’s standards or principles.

Defense: the action of preventing an opponent from scoring

    Psalm 119:165
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Opportunities to give in to offense present themselves to everyone at one time or another. No one is exempt. We all must continually guard our hearts against the temptation to become offended and other negative emotions.

Satan will use the spirit of offense to paralyze us or stop us from receiving victory or moving forward in REVIVAL.
The key is to fall in love with the Word of God and obey it. When we understand that we are not fighting one another but spirts that are trying to keep us from our Joy, peace, victory, revival… whatever your warring for right now. We will fight correctly and effectively.

These verses let us know that if we stay in Him or in His word (because He is the WORD) we will abide in love and joy. It’s hard to stay offended when your “your joy is full” You can’t stay negative when you’re full of joy!

Like Pastor preached a few weeks ago we have “The Kings Word” and we need to use it. There is a Word for every situation we will ever face, we just have to be disciplined enough and faithful enough to seek it out.

Father forgive my lack of faithfulness to Your Word and teach me to daily use it and obey it. Cause Your Word to be active in my life not only that I may not sin against You but that I may love my brothers and sisters more effectively.

  25. “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

How amazing is our Lord, He could of chosen anyone instead of me, but He chose me. No grated love then the love He has for us. I could have been in drugs or lost in this world but He chose me. We have the power to over come and we have the power to go give the word of God to those who are still slaves of sin and give them hope that there is someone who loves them as he loves us. The one who give us peace and comfort and He who had given His life for us so that we can have everlasting life.

  26. St. John 15:16, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

He Chose Us and Ordained (order or decree something official; command) Us, to GO and Bring Forth Fruit.
This is what the Kingdom of God is all about.

  27. 15 I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. NLT

Kate wants friends in school but hasn’t quite mastered the friendly characteristic. She was excited to say the other day that she made a “friend”, kinda, she proceeds to say that she promised the other child if she would play with her she would give her a donut, and if she would color with her she would give her another donut and so on and so on. While I’m listening I asked how it went, Kate then admits that she ate all the donuts and the little girl didn’t want to be her friend anymore. Refraining from laughing, we explained that wasn’t what friends do. If you said you’re going to do it, you have to commit to it and follow through.

The same can be applied with God, no He isn’t necessarily saying that if you pray today He’ll bless you with a donut, but He is calling us Friend. Which is a “give and take” relationship.

If we are called friends of God, we are to want to spend time with Him freely. Not with the “what do I get from it” mentality. We are free to be His Friend, so be committed to what you have promised God, and follow through with it.

Father forgive my lack of faithfulness to Your Word and teach me to daily use it and obey it. Cause Your Word to be active in my life not only that I may not sin against You but that I may love my brothers and sisters more effectively.

  29. 3You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you.

Little by little God prunes us daily, but only if we allow him. As you pray you’re getting pruned, as you read the bible, as you worship, as you fellowship, as you serve, as you hear the word you are getting pruned.

  30. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Without God we can do nothing, but with Him we can do all things. If you are wondering why you are being pruned, it is because you are growing and producing fruit. You are GROWING!

  31. We know the power of the spoken word of God but consider what Jesus speaks here: ‘Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.’ So many people want to determine for themselves what it is that defines them as being clean and pure, but Jesus clearly declared that they were clean through his word! Our filthy rags will never measure up to what God declares is clean!

It wasn’t enough to just receive his words though. He said to ‘Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.’

We cannot expect to be fruitful in his kingdom until we learn to truly abide in him! That implies that we both hear and receive his word and be doing our part to apply it to our lives. Not forgetful hearers, but doers of his word! That is the difference between just hearing and hearkening unto him. Many may hear it go forth, but those that hearken are focused upon what God is speaking to them! They will truly abide in his word and bear its fruit in their lives!

  32. 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

He is the vine that holds us together. We are extensions of him. Our fruit is good because of him and our seed is multiplied because of him. His word is like the vine, strong and unbreakable. Our faith is the junction that hold us to him. The fruit we bare is the blessings he pours out on us. Stay connected, stay strong, and stay in the word.

  33. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

It’s such a blessing to have the knowledge of who Jesus is and have the gift of the Holy Ghost dwelling within us. This revelation alone is amazing. If you take into consideration that Philip and Thomas saw Jesus in person and spoke to him face to face, you would think they would realize who he was. He is God, sitting right next to them trying to help them understand with parables such as the vine. Jesus uses things that they can understand so they may gain greater revelation. This was done strategically so that we may not only learn, but teach others who he is. With out him we are lost and hopeless, but with Jesus we can be fruitful.

  34. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬
What a fitting scripture for the upcoming friend day. Let’s really look at this would you lay down your life for a friend. What I mean by your life is the things you do every day. Would you break the normal routine and take a chance for your friend. Take a chance and be there for a friend

  35. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

When we abide in Him and in His words it transform who we are and what we need and or ask for. Becuae then we will ask confirming Tom the Word for the Word itself works in us.

  36. “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

A little pruning is a good thing. It can make someone more productive and help you get rid of what is not needed. It can include people, activities, and places. It’s not just for plants, it for our lives too.
