Acts 15

And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:

20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:

23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

30 So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:

31 Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.

32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

33 And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles.

34 Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still.

35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

  1. 18. Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

    When God spoke in the Old Testament, He already knew what He was going to speak in the New Testament, and when He spoke in the New Testament, He remembered what He had spoken in the Old Testament.
    The Old and New support each other, there are no contradictions.

  2. This chapter talks about how these (apostles, leaders) went to build up muscle and sinew in these congregations, strengthening their new friends with many words of courage and hope. We (POFW) must do the same…..build each other up, encourage one another, pray for one another and work together to build up the body of Christ.

  3. 11
    Peter’s final decision is worthy of special notice. He explained the deep conviction that through the grace of the Lord Jesus ( and not through law keeping) we ( the Jews) shall be saved in the same manner as they (the Gentilis). One would have expected Peter, as Jew , to say that the Gentiles would be saved the same as the Jews. But grace is here seen triumphing over ethnic distinctions .

  4. But Paul did not want to, because Mark had left them in Pamphylia and had stopped working with them. Paul and Barnabas argued, then each of them went his own way. Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus, but Paul took Silas and left after the followers had placed them in God’s care.
    Acts 15:38‭-‬40 CEV

    It’s ok to agree to disagree.

    In ministry and in working for ‘Thy KINGDOM ‘ we all have such annointing, gifts, and talents. We labor together as a body. Unity is there, but we are not always going to agree on things. Some ideas work and some may not at that particular time. And yes….feelings will be hurt, and that will be okay. Love is what brought the entire family together, it will be the love of GOD and for S.O.U.L.S/A.L.M.A.S that will see the gospel be taught. Remember it’s not about our agenda, but His!!
    And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
    Mark 16:15 KJV

  5. 18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
    19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
    20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

    Sometimes we can complicate loving for Christ with all the details that are apart of our Christian walk, and we don’t realize that it can actually drive people away from this. It’s very simple, abstain from evil things and draw close to God. We need to learn sometimes not to complicate the word of God by boggling it down with unnecessary legalistic laws to categorize people. The will of God is to be United to the same cause and to walk in unity

  6. 15:35 Paul and Barnabas continue in Antioch, teaching and
    Preaching the word of the Lord, many others also.
    ——
    Yes there will be issues , misunderstanding, disagreements
    That, at one time got to be fixed…all in one accord, agreeing with what the Word says and Not man. Meanwhile, others still sharing the gospel, still doing what we were made for to do… go!!! And tell!!!!

  7. New Covenant

    5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

    11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

    When Jesus took our sins upon Himself and laid down His life at the cross He became the ultimate sacrifice. There’s no more need blood offerings, no more need for specific regulations to adhere to. He paid the ultimate price IN FULL! WORTHY IS THE LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN FOR US!!! Hallelujah!!!
    Peters reminding everyone of this and because God brought the Gentiles into this New Covenant it verified and confirmed that there was no more need for the ways of the old Covenant because through Jesus Christ all of the old Covenant had been fulfilled and a new covenant has been made!

  8. Acts 15:18 [Amp] Says the Lord, Who has been making these things known from the beginning of the world.[Isa. 45:21 ] Declar and bring forward your strong arguments [ for praying to God’s that cannot save]; yes, take counsel together. Who announced this [ the rise of Cyrus and his conquests] beforehand ( long ago) ? [ What God] declared it old ? Was it not, the Lord ? And there is no other God besides Me, a rigidly and uncopromisingly just and righteous God and Savior; there is none besides Me. In that day God will raise up the tabernacle of David, the fallen hut, or booth, and close up its ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old. There no other God but the Lord Jesus Christ. He comming back , We must be ready.

  9. Acts 15
    7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

    8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

    All flesh , all Nations . They will not look like us they will not act like us the church. They will be different. Yet God will bring them and they will prophecy they will speak in tongues. We are in the last hours and many are coming will we receive them accept them . I hope so.

    Acts 2:17
    ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
    That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
    Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
    Your young men shall see visions,
    Your old men shall dream dreams.
    18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants
    I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
    And they shall prophesy.

    10 Now therefore why tempt ye God,
    J. Soliz

  12. 14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
    15 And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,

    When we have disputes, why do we not pray and decide with an “it is written”? PRIDE. Pride fools us into thinking that we are different than they, and therefore we think better than they, so we must have the correct answer. WRONG, pride comes before a fall…

    So, in trying to harvest, or with our everyday life, let’s not try to re-invent the wheel, but let’s use “it is written”, and work like little ants, to see His Kingdom grow.

  13. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

    11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

    12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

    21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

    Why do we think that we have to grow people into “mimi-me’s” or “Super-Christians” over night?

    PRIDE. Pride causes us to grow envious, because they are not to “our standards”. “They don’t do as much as we do.” Lest we forget, we were all lost in sin… but God…

    I love how the elders, the wisest, and strongest in their faith (our organizational leaders), sat down prayed, and said “Let their pastors teach them, as they teach The Word.”

    Don’t forget, labourers were hired all day, at the same pay. It didn’t matter if they started at dawn, or just before harvest was finished.

  15. “And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    “We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    They were receiving people in the church but the momentum didn’t stop right there. They were sent out and spoke (using their mouths).
    Some people might say that everyone has a calling in ministry and what the individual was saying everyone has a place in the Kingdom. I know where he was going with this but I heard them out. I agree, everyone that receives the Holy does have a place in the Kingdom whether it’s singing, teaching, cleaning, preaching, etc. but together we’re one body we’re a church to receive new people (raw) people into the kingdom of our God. We all need to Go out and speak to those that still need to find their place in the Kingdom, let them know this is a place to belong.

  16. 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
    8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

    10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
    11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

  17. iLove the Kingdom
    Wow, where do we start here? What we have here is a good ole fashioned Bible brawl throw down. Listen to the verbiage… “had no small dissension and disputation”… Check out how the Message Version puts it, ‘It wasn’t long before some Jews showed up from Judea insisting that everyone be circumcised: “If you’re not circumcised in the Mosaic fashion, you can’t be saved.” Paul and Barnabas were up on their feet at once in fierce protest” Acts 15:1-2.

    Did ya’ll see that? Why did Paul and Barnabas enter into “fierce protest” with these folks? Because of their doctrine. What were they teaching? They were teaching that you had to obey the law of Moses to be saved…What’s wrong with that?

    Well, as I read this my mind shot back to a feller I met back in the day. His name was Clive Curry. Oh brother Curry was one of them there folks who taught you had to keep the law of Moses to be saved. He tried his best to “lead” me to “his” truth. I’ll be honest, it was tempting (at first) to believe this doctrine. He would take me to the Old Testament and show the scriptures and prove his doctrine. He took it all the way back to the original Hebrew language and Hebrew customs. As I listened to ole brother Curry, something just didn’t seem right. I was a brand new Christian but I had the Holy Ghost…and the Spirit of Bible brawl came upon me. So, I studied like never before and refuted and disputed everything ole brother Curry brought forth. If folks were listening in, they might have wondered how could two “Christians” argue over the Word like we were arguing. I took the Bible from the Old all the way to the New and everywhere marked the scriptures with an orange map color to prove brother Curry wrong…

    You might say, “Brother Morgan, that’s crazy…it’s not that big of a deal”… But it really is that big of deal. Look at how Paul and Barnabas addressed it. It was a big deal and in my bible in Acts 15 is the chapter that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Gentiles are not under the bondage of the law of Moses.

    The first church gave the guidelines for salvation unto the Gentiles. Do not allow any of these internet preachers and wantabe Hebrew scholars try to fool you into thinking you have to become “Hebrew” to be saved. Hebrew is a beautiful language, but if you speak English then Jesus is still the Name you need to know! Don’t worry about all the laws and ordinances of the law of Moses folks, if you want pork on your fork you go right ahead and do it. The guidelines are right here in Acts 15 for any who might be confused, there is no room to allow these false teachers a place in our lives. Be Free!

    ‘It seemed to the Holy Spirit and to us that you should not be saddled with any crushing burden, but be responsible only for these bare necessities: Be careful not to get involved in activities connected with idols; avoid serving food offensive to Jewish Christians (blood, for instance); and guard the morality of sex and marriage. These guidelines are sufficient to keep relations congenial between us. And God be with you!

  18. THY KINGDOM COME
    ACCOUNTABILITY

    35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
    36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

    We witness here the value of ACCOUNTABILITY to the Apostles. The purpose for their travels were to “confirm the churches” and “see how they do”. This teaches us the importance of our willingness to give answer for our Godly labor. There is great value in ACCOUNTABILITY, when we are willing to report on our progress or shortcomings, we grant permission for confirmation, instruction or even correction if necessary.

    We are wise to welcome the opportunity for ACCOUNTABILITY in our lives as well as our church. It is an Apostic Act to be ACCOUNTABLE in our Spiritual lives.

    ACCOUNTABILITY Is a Kingdom Principal of protection and action. ACCOUNTABILITY reveals UNITY and ERROR in our lives (Holiness) and churches (Doctrines).

    The absence of ACCOUNTABILITY reveals that is full of PRIDE or has something to HIDE.

    Here are a few scriptures to confirm the call for ACCOUNTABILITY in The Kingdom of GOD.

    Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

    Luke 16:2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

    Romans 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

    Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

  19. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
    9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

    God knows the heart and that’s what He searches. We may be able to walk the walk and talk the talk, but are our hearts really in all that we do? Better yet, what is your heart after? We have been shown grace and the opportunity to purify our hearts by faith. So seek the Lord, be renewed in His Spirit daily, know and spend time with Him and His Word daily and see how easy it is to fall in love with Jesus.

  20. 5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.
    6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
    7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.
    8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;
    9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

    Why do we as the creation feel that we should have a say in what THE CREATOR, GOD does or doesn’t do??? From the relationship of Adam and Eve trying to do things their way and through out the whole Bible are different situations but the people tend to be prideful, wanting to do as they please!!! GOD STAYS THE SAME, HE WILL NOT BE MOCKED!!! WHAT HE SAYS, JUST IS!!! There should be no disputing……

  21. At the meeting, after a long discussion, Peter stood and addressed them as follows: “Brothers, you all know that God chose me from among you some time ago to preach to the Gentiles so that they could hear the Good News and believe. God knows people’s hearts, and he confirmed that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith. So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear? We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.”
    Acts of the Apostles 15:7‭-‬11
    We don’t need to make it complicated for new believers all we need to to is about the goodness of God and All he do

  22. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

    I think at times we can deceive those around us with the right things to say, the right type of attitudes, and look just like the part, that we deceive ourselves into believing that we can deceive God as well.

    It’s as if during the deceiving we have forgotten who God truly is. How else do we believe that He is as easily deceived as the people we live life with?

    He knows His creation. Didn’t Genesis say that after it was created, He examined it, and said: “it is good”?

    He won’t create something without knowing it. He is life, He created you and your heart. He knows your heart. He’s called you to live life with Him, by sharing the Holy Ghost with each of us!

  23. 35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

    Questions and concerns rose among the brethren, and when they did not understand they appointed men to go search for the elders and find the answers. When the men returned, the explained and the people responded and moved on to continue preaching and teaching the gospel.

    We cannot allow things that we don’t understand distract. See the wisdom of the Elders God has placed over us for the answers, accept what they say confirmed through the word of God, and continuing sharing the gospel.

  24. And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

    2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

    3 And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren.

    4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.

    Some from Judea taught the Gentile converts at Antioch, that they could not be saved, unless they observed the whole ceremonial law as given by Moses; and thus they sought to destroy Christian liberty. There is a strange proneness in us to think that all do wrong who do not just as we do. Their doctrine was very discouraging. Wise and good men desire to avoid contests and disputes as far as they can; yet when false teachers oppose the main truths of the gospel, or bring in hurtful doctrines, we must not decline to oppose them.

  25. 2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

    5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

    6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

    Proverbs 11:14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety. When we have ministers and elders in place we create safeguards for the church and verse 6 comes alive in this day and time of the church.

  26. Acts 15:7-11 (AMP)
    7) After a long debate, Peter got up and said to them, Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles would hear the message of the gospel and believe.
    8) And God, who knows and understands the heart, testified to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;
    9) And He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith (in Jesus).
    10) Now then, why are you testing God by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we have been able to endure?
    11) But we believe that we are saved through the (precious, undeserved) grace of the Lord Jesus (which makes us free of the guilt of sin and grants us eternal life), in just the same way as they are.

  27. 17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

    18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

    From the very moment that God breath life into the pile of dust to give man a spirit and soul, from the Old Testament all the way to the modern day church, we were created for the promise of God. We have the opportunity to get close to him like Adam was in the Garden. We know that we preach this gospel to who so ever will!

    We can not and must not make this race we are running about us. It can not be about our will be done. It has been about the kingdom from the very beginning and it is more about the kingdom today. Our works will not be in vain if we surrender all to him.

    Our works will be known!

    I Love Thy Lingdom!

  28. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work. And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus; And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.
    Acts 15:37‭-‬41 KJV

    Paul and Barnabas worked well together, but they had different ministries. Paul was a lover, planter, and overseer of churches, while Barnabas was a lover and succorer of men. Paul saw churches in need; Barnabas saw hurting men in need of a friend. It is important to realize that neither calling was greater than the other, and both are necessary in the Kingdom Harvest.

    For a while Paul and Barnabas’ ministries appeared to be one. This is because the man Barnabas was ministering to at the time was Paul. It appears that Barnabas’ ministry even begins to get swallowed up in Paul’s. That is until Barnabas is led to another ostracized and hurting man in need of a friend: Mark.

    Paul and Barnabas disagreed because each saw the work of God through the lens of his own ministry. Paul was focused and driven and could not see the uncertain Mark as benefiting the fledgling churches as a whole. Barnabas saw the uncertain Mark as a great man in the making who just needed some mentoring to reach his full potential. God saw them all and had His way in the whirlwind; the two men separated and each carried on with the ministry he was called to. Mark became an evangelist, a strength to Paul in his latter years, a church planter in Egypt, and is believed to be the writer of the Gospel of Mark (though it was written anonymously).

    We must be careful that we learn from this story of contention not to judge others by our own ministry. The calling God has given us is both individual and a gift. We do not deserve this grace. We cannot judge others for not having the same burdens and passions that we have been given. God requires each of us to be faithful to the gifts He has bestowed upon us. Paul was not better than Barnabas because he saw multitudes while Barnabas saw men. Each had his own part to play.

    Likewise, the missionary is not better than the evangelist. The gifted prayer-warrior is not better than the gifted worshipper. The eloquent preacher is not better than the dedicated bus captain, or grounds keeper, or Sunday School teacher. This is a great work that takes many ministries working in harmony to successfully complete. The harvest is vast and ripe; let’s stop judging or coveting other men’s labors and start becoming exemplary in the work to which we have been called.

  29. 35 Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
    36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

    Check in on your friends. As the church it is our responsibility to checkin on one another and keep each other uplifted. This is why it is good to commune with one another.

  30. 36 And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.

    Have we become content with just inviting souls to church?
    When lives receive the Holy Ghost and are baptized in Jesus name, our mission doesn’t stop there. They must be nurtured and cared for to grow in their faith.
    We must start with bringing them into the body of Christ, but we can’t be content with that we must grow them up in the body of Christ!

  31. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

    God gives the Holy Spirit to everyone. God is going to be building places for people so they can be saved.

  32. And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

    Jesus came to save those that are lost. He didn’t create us for we can be judges but help those that are struggling, those that are hurting, those that are dying spiritually. We have to fight for what God loves, which is souls!!! The closer we are to Him the more we’re going to fall in love with what he loves. Lord help me not be a stumbling block to anyone but help those that are in need. Thank You Jesus!!!

  33. And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

  34. 8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Ghost, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

  35. And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: Simon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
    Acts 15:13‭-‬17 KJV
    James settles the dispute by quoting the Scriptures that show God would turn to the Gentiles. It reminds of Pastor saying, where is that in the Bible? In this case James brought the Word!

  36. 37 And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

    38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

    39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

    40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

  37. We live in a time when an encouraging word can be hard to find, and it was so in the first century. The church leaders review the situation and realize that some overzealous law-minded people have disturbed and discouraged many fellow Christians. They may not have been intentionally malicious, but they have done damage through their words. Jesus came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it. We did not deserve the blood Jesus shed to wash away our sins, but we are saved by his grace. Instead of forcing the newborn followers to consume steak, they chose to encourage them with milk. They model how Spirit-filled Christians today can fight discouragement and harsh words. Building up a person means allowing them time to grow and the patience to help teach and disciple them.

  38. “He knows what is in everyone’s heart. And he showed he had chosen the Gentiles, when he gave them the Holy Spirit, just as he had given his Spirit to us.”(Acts‬ ‭15:8‬ ‭CEV‬‬)

    When Jesus rose from the dead he chose to pour out his Spirit on all flesh, which includes the Gentiles. This gives the Jews an advantage because they already knew God, now they have to understand that Jesus came to fulfill it. He opens the door for all to find salvation.

  39. “‘Afterward I will return and restore the fallen house of David. I will rebuild its ruins and restore it, so that the rest of humanity might seek the Lord, including the Gentiles— all those I have called to be mine. The Lord has spoken— he who made these things known so long ago.’”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭15:16-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    It is incredible how God had us in mind long time ago.

  40. We must be willing to teach God’s word wherever we go. We cannot allow the enemy to convince us to be silent. Our head should be held high and looking unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

  41. He knows my heart

    8And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

    God knows our hearts even when others are unaware of our intentions. Sometimes good intentions can be offensive or hurtful to others but I’m thankful that God knows our heart.

    Not only does He know our heart but He is also able to transform our hearts from being offended. He is able to transform us by the reknewing of our minds and cause us to for a moment mentally walk in the footsteps of others which often will change our hearts.

    I said all this to say. We must be willing to walk in the footsteps of others in prayer and make a effort to win others to God. There are hungry people around us and just has we were lost on our sins and hurting they too need someone to tell them about The Savior that is able to heal all their needs.

  42. 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

    8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

    9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

    10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

    11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

    We are no different from Moses, Abraham, Noah, or even his disciples. Jesus gave us a mission too and blessed us with the gift of the Holy Ghost. He gave each and every one of us, who have excepted Jesus and the faith in him, power to go out and do his works.

  43. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark.

    38 But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

    39 And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

    40 And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

    41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

    Being humans we will experience contention at one point or another. We are perfectly imperfect and therefore are prone to make mistakes and have conflicts due to disagreements. It is how we react though that can make the difference in our spiritual walk. Perhaps Paul learn from this experience and later shared in the letter to the Ephesians be ye angry and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath. Neither give place for the devil. In this chapter 4 of Ephesians he talks about the importance of unity. Whatever the situation may be it is the unity that keeps the flow going.

    Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
    Ephesians 4:3‭-‬4‭, ‬6‭-‬7 KJV

  44. God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.
    Acts 15:8‭-‬9 NIV

    God not only knows our hearts but has chosen us to know Him and His Word.

  45. Acts 15:40-41 Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of God. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

    Acts 16:5 And so we’re the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.

    Greatest principle to follow Never work Alone!

  46. “It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭15:25-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Together they were all looking for the way to help the new believers. They were looking after each other for the success of all to help everyone fulfill their commitments.
