Acts 28

And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.

And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.

11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.

13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:

14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.

15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.

16 And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.

18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.

19 But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.

21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.

23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,

26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.

30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

  1. For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
    Acts 28:27‭-‬28 KJV

Sometimes, our problem with trying to spread the Gospel is that we are sharing it with the wrong people. We try to pick desirable people to witness to and to invite to church. We go to those who are well off, non-threatening, clean-living folks who have much to offer the church and who we would feel comfortable befriending or being seen with.

However, these are often the people who tend to be dull of hearing. They feel pretty good about themselves, they think they are doing pretty good for themselves, and they don’t see themselves as particularly sinful or feel they have much need for a savior. Moreover, if they believe in God at all, they tend to already see themselves as saved.

On the other hand, those people who we tend to see as undesirables (like the Gentiles were to the Jews) often have more of a hunger for salvation. They know they are sinners and are quite often ready for a change in their lives.

Jesus was criticized for going to the undesirables, and His response was that the whole didn’t need a physician. When He reached for the hurting, the sick, the possessed, and the poor, He was well received. However, the desirables of His day were the ones trying to accuse, discredit, and kill him.

I once heard a man preach who had struggled unsuccessfully to build a church. One day God spoke to him a new plan for outreach, “You reach for the people that nobody wants, and I’ll bring you the people that everybody wants.” From that day forward, he started going to drug addicts, prostitutes, and such the like; and God answered by sending to the church doctors, lawyers, judges, and others who had never even been invited.

Some think that the church is wasting money by running buses and going to the worst areas of our city; but in God’s eyes, there are no undesirables. He chooses where to place the harvest field, we just obey the call to go.

  2. 24. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.

    28. Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

-If we don’t receive the Word God has for us, He will find someone else who will.

    Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

  3. Verses 30-31 MSG “Paul lived for two years in his rented house. He welcomed everyone who came to visit. He urgently presented all matters of the kingdom of God. He explained everything about Jesus Christ. His door was always open.” POFW will have our doors wide open this coming weekend for Western Day, let us be ready to explain everything about Jesus Christ to every person who enters in.

  4. 23 So when they had appointed him a day, many came to him at his lodging, to whom he explained and solemnly testified of kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the law of Moses and the prophets, from morning till evening.

  5. Acts 28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Ephesians 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

We must continue to preach, winning our world to Christ in Jesus Name!
    Acts 2:38

  6. Acts 28
28 “You’ve had your chance. The non-Jewish outsiders are next on the list. And believe me, they’re going to receive it with open arms!”

30-31 Paul lived for two years in his rented house. He welcomed everyone who came to visit. He urgently presented all matters of the kingdom of God. He explained everything about Jesus Christ. His door was always open.

There are people waiting for something from God. Even in the midst of all of the adversity Paul had been through he still continues to reach . With urgency he spoke of the Kingdom of God. Paul was different he really didn’t care what others thought. He had a testimony of where God had brought him from he had a desire to reach the lost. He did not care what walk of life they cane from. Shall we become so caught up on position in life we forget the Call God places upon us . Cold shipwrecked accusers vipers yet Paul still had his door open when in reality he could have closed it and said I’ve done my best now I’ll rest but no ; he was on a mission a mission for the Kingdom. Lord …,…….send in more Pauls there are a lot of souls in this city there has to be a way to reach more . Help us to always have an open door policy in our life no matter the hour no matter what we are doing no matter what type of meetings are going on we must be ready for we may only have one opportunity to reach them . In Jesus name………

  7. Acts 28:28 [Amp] So let it be unstood by you then that [ this message of] the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles and they will listen [ to it]
[ Ps. 67:2] That Your way may be known upon the earth, Your saving power [ Your deliverances and Your salvation) among all nations. Some will listen and there will be some that don’t listen! But keep on reaching and teaching about the Lord and his salvation in Jesus name. We all need Jesus!

  8. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

So often we state we have faith, but sometimes we allow our flesh to rise up and overtake the spirit of the Holy Ghost and we become sick from the things in this world. But as Paul was bitten by the viper he never wavered from his belief that if God Be for him then who or what could be against him.

We as the church are going to come under great scrutiny and lies, but we have to hold fast to God and his word. No weapon formed against us shall prosper.

Hold fast church to our faith.

    I love the Kingdom!

  9. 4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper… Paul was a man of God with a calling and a message to deliver. He went everywhere the Spirit of the Lord pressed him and led him. He suffered many harms for the cause of this calling and ministry, was beaten and left for dead, was persecuted, was on shipwrecks, was falsely accused and in bonds for doing what is right. And through it all the greatest thing I see about his life is that nothing separated him from the love of God. That scripture comes to life when I think of this great man of God.

Romans 8:35-39 King James Version (KJV)

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And through all this No Weapon harmed him for there was a calling and purpose that God had for His life. Yes he needed encouragement throughout the journey for we read of God encouraged him to no be afraid and that no man will harm him for he needed to finish the race. The Lord knows that we are still human and takes the time to give us that extra push. But whatever came against him wether in prison in a cell or after a wreck at sea and the enemy still attacking he shook it off in the fire of praise prayer and worship. Never let your fire die, but let whatever the enemy throws at you to bite be shaken off in the Real Fire and let that Cosuming Fire take care of it.

  10. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.
5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

Sometimes the attack on your life isn’t Just against you, it is for the glory of God to give favor among people and to show God protection on your life. These men listened to Paul later and heard the gospel because they witnessed this.

  11. For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
Acts of the Apostles 28:30‭-‬31 NLT

Through all his struggles and persecution he made it through because God was with him. He didn’t waiver or stand down in his faith. And in doing so God provided opportunities for His Word to be preached.

  12. But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed. The people waited for him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But when they had waited a long time and saw that he wasn’t harmed, they changed their minds and decided he was a god.
Acts of the Apostles 28:5‭-‬6 NLT
If funny how some people give credit to theirselves when a healing take place put knew that he would be heal instantly after the snake bit him that why he keep going I was reading a book for school and it about a man that came from a bad and poor background the men Ben because one of the best neurosurgeon doctors in the world . Everything he did he prayed and did in the name of Jesus Ben did’nt give credit to his self but then gave credit to God

  13. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Paul had two years to establish a church in Rome. One that would have to survive the many later emperors who made a deadly sport of Christians. May I learn to spend and use my time as wisely as Paul did.

  14. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

  15. 31 preaching and proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness and boldness, unhindered and unrestrained. (AMP)

Be willing to endure whatever it takes, whatever God places before you, just to get to this point. It’s all about His Kingdom, it’s all about sharing Jesus just like Pastor taught us yesterday morning. God give us the confidence and boldness to proclaim Your word to everyone willing to hear!

  16. iLove the Kingdom
6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

These pagans thought that Paul was a god. Why??? Because they did not know the Word of God. If they had known the Word of God then they would not have jumped to conclusions. The Word of God is very important and everything we believe about the Word must be backed up by the Word and must be in the Word. Whoever started the rumor that Paul was a god should have been confronted by someone else who said, “Where’s that in the Bible?” We cannot simply take another’s word about the Word, we must “study to show ourselves approved…”

  17. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

This is what we should be doing. Preaching and teaching the kingdom of God to all of our friends, acquaintances, enemies and strangers.

  18. So quick to pass judgment

The bonds on Pauls hands and feet were no doubt the underlying real cause of the judgment or the conversation of the keepers. When you see a man show up with guards all around him with the conversation of exporting him to judgment to another country, it would be tough to make friends with him. What did he do that was so terrible that someone would spend this kind of time and expense just to get him to the place of his judgement. It must be pretty bad. This is what I image the situation looked like. They didn’t know Pauls past or what real happened to get him there but when the viper struck him, those accusations were waiting like a speeding bullet chambered in a gun to shoot him down, when the whole time this is the man responsible for writing most of the New Testament gospel to the church. An innocent man being transported to his likely doom only finds more judgment and ridicule on his way. BUT GOD! but God saw his predicament and did not leave him stranded. The viper shook off his hand and nothing happened. That snake had no chance at Gods anointed but if it was left to chance and God had turned his back Paul would have no doubt died by that fire. The lesson is that we cannot be so quick to judge. We see all kinds of people coming in and out of the church. It doesn’t matter what their lives looked like before or what they did yesterday. We are the church of the living God. We are the ones that are here, in position to catch them when they fall. We are the ones that should be the last to judge them. We may be their only hope. The most unlikely candidate for the Holy Ghost rises up and become a powerful man of God in Paul.God didn’t care about what he did the day before he just chose. We will see these Paul type of people coming to our church but we will kill heir conversion and their eternal soul if we judge them and take the grace of God out of The Almightys hands due to our own insecurity. Gods grace is not governed by us for a reason, we do not know what God knows, we cannot see the whole picture. SO let God be God and we will be his servants.

  19. This passage should give pause to anyone satisfied with just coming and being associated with the church. ‘Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted.’

Paul had spoken to them of the coming of the Messiah that they had been waiting for so long, and yet they could not make up their mind on whether to receive his words of truth and revelation. The saddest part of this passage he refers to in Isaiah is the verse that comes just before: ‘Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.’

There was a prophet willing to go, but there was not a people willing to hear. The most powerful of prophets cannot make a difference to a people who’ve decided they no longer eant to hear. They’re satisfied where they’re at with what they have and no longer have that desire to hearken to the voice of God… so God leaves them there.

As long as the word of God is going forth, we need to be prepared to receive and respond to what the spirit is speaking to the church! We have a greater purpose and the focus of that purpose is upon the harvest. We need to be ready to labor in the harvest. We need to prepare ourselves and get anything that hinders is out of our way. We need to be able to hearken to the voice of God that gives us the direction to do so every day, if we just take the time to truly listen!

  20. THY KINGDOM COME
    KINGDOM OPPORTUNITIES

7 In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the island, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

Life will place us in unique opportunities and situations, how we respond to and what we do in those settings is instrumental in in expanding and increasing The Kingdom of GOD.

Paul here is a prisoner on a boat that just made shipwreck, he floated to shore on a piece of wood, was bit by a snake, accused of being a devil, but is still in The Kingdom mindset to be used by JESUS to heal the sick. We should be done with our excuses about why we cannot do this or that.

When we consider the power of JESUS and HIS great name we no doubt should be prepared to exercise our FAITH in GOD and allow JESUS to demonstrate HIS Kingdom through us to heal, deliver and save.

May JESUS help us to recognize each opportunity that HE places us in to be the Spiritual Authority in the room. That we will PRAY with FAITH in JESUS name for every opportunity that may be presented. Lives will be IMPACTED, Bodies will be HEALED, Souls will be DELIVERED.

Lets GO today and take advantage of every KINGDOM OPPORTUNITY.

  21. “Therefore let it be known to you that [this message of] the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they indeed will listen!” [And when he had said these things, the Jews left, arguing among themselves.] And Paul lived there for two full years [at his own expense] in his own rented lodging and welcomed all who came to him, preaching and proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness and boldness, unhindered and unrestrained.”

  22. Acts 28:23 & 31
    23) And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

    31) Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

It’s all about the Kingdom of God!

  23. “Some were persuaded by the things he said, but others did not believe.

So I want you to know that this salvation from God has also been offered to the Gentiles, and they will accept it.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭28:24, 28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We are a few days from Western Day and we will be ministering to many people from all walks of life.
Do not feel discouraged if some of our guess don’t want to be prayed for. Some may not believe, some may be hungry for God. We are called to minister to all our visitors just like Paul did. Let’s us pray for everyone who comes
on western day to have an open heart, ears and eyes to see what Jesus has for them. In Jesus Name!!!

  24. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

4 And when the barbarians saw the venomous beast hang on his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet vengeance suffereth not to live.

5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

6 Howbeit they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.

God didn’t bring you this far to only bring you this far.
Paul knew God would not bring him through that storm to only die by a viper. Paul knew he had a promise, he knew he had a calling and he wasn’t there yet. So instead of fearing what was going on around him, he kept the faith and continued to serve where he was at.

God has never failed you and He never will. He brought you through the last storm and He’ll bring you through the next. We must not fear, but keep the faith and continue to serve where God has placed us!

  25. 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

We will be able to share the apostolic doctrine with others and some will believe and others will not. Our responsibility is to testify as to what we know about salvation and who Jesus is. It is up to the bearer to search the word and make the decision whether or not to follow the Lords ways. However, we must sow the word or the seed with tears if we expect a harvest, meaning we must prayerfully sow the word in someone’s life in a way that will draw them to him, not push them away.

  26. “And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Lord, I pray that you would give us this favor with the region of Fort Worth. And the laborers would go out preaching and teaching the Kingdom of God with confidence.

  27. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.

9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

The power of a testimony! When God heals someone, we should use this as a witness/testimony to others. This will create faith in their lives and help them to understand that God can do them same for others as well. Word travels fast and when it is noised abroad that Jesus, the Healer is working miracles, people will come from far and wide with high faith that He will do the same for them.

Tell the good news, don’t be ashamed. Share what the Lord is doing!

  28. And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand. And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.
    Acts 28:3‭, ‬5 KJV
The fire of God will reveal the evil and unclean things or spirits that go unnoticed in an ordinary church environment. Bad habits will cling to us until we bring them to the fire. They will try to hang on for dear life but we need to do as Paul did and shake it off in the fire. Don’t let it hang around, be rid of it! Let’s keep the revival fires burning at the POFW and we may seem serpents show up but the bigger the fire, the easier it will be to throw them into!!!

  29. 6 But they stood watching and expecting him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. But after they had waited a long time and had seen nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and began saying that he was a god. AMP

They put their life on hold to watch and assume the worst was going to happen. The amplified version says they waited a long time.

Have you ever been to six flags or amusement park? You stand and wait in lines for a long time for about a minute of thrill from a roller coaster. At any point in the trip did you stand and wait for a ride only to get to be the next one in line and they close the ride?

The multitude of emotions that rise up can be overwhelming, however, your safety is always the first thing on their mind.

So when the natives saw the viper bite Paul, I’d like to imagine that has happened before so their assumptions were based on past experiences. To put your life on hold to watch and wait for someone to fail, from your past experiences, only for them to not fail, but actually the opposite, succeed, can lead to quite a bit of emotion to rise up.

Galations 5:16 “But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts].”

This is why we must pray and read the word daily, allowing ourselves to walk in the spirit! Cause just as the theme park has your safety first at hand, how much more do you believe your heavenly Father has for you?

  30. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

  31. Acts 28
30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

  32. 3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

    A good deed.

Have you ever done something out of the kindness of your heart, and you felt like you were punished for it? As we see here this is what happened to Paul, yet it was to show the others the power of God. Sometimes when we go through tests and trials, its not for us, but to show someone else the power of God. Just know that the test is not just for you, but it is also to help someone else.
Know that it’s all for His Kingdom.

  33. “And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:24‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Not all those that we show the gospel to will believe. Not everyone that we preach to will receive it with open arms. Some will accept it. But most will reject it.

God I pray that we have hearts that are willing to be spoken to. In correction, and in growth.

  34. Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

NLT says and “no one tried to stop him”which means without hinderance. Even if the messengers (us) feel chained and accused His Word will never be chained. His Word brings freedom and despite what might come, His Word shall be preached. In Jesus Name!

  35. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

  36. And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
    Acts 28:27‭-‬28‭, ‬30‭-‬31 KJV

This is the problem today. People don’t want to hear the truth; they don’t want to see the truth. As long as I can do things my way who cares. That was me before Nov. 8, 2015. I didn’t care about God or what was in the bible. My ears were dull; my eyes were closed; my heart was hardened. You know Paul did do some terrible things before God transformed him. Then look how he was used to bring the lost to the Kingdom. This is what I would call being 100% transformed. Not only in the mind, but heart and spirit too. God is awesome and will always bring us from darkness into His marvelous light. Thank you jesus.

  37. Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, “This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, the goddess Justice has not allowed him to live.” But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.
    Acts 28:3‭-‬5 NIV

When ever you try to add to the kingdom there will always be vipers that will want to bite you. They will try to do what ever they can to poison you but if we can only trust in Jesus and put them ober the fire, God will take care of it.

  38. Josiah: 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
When we spend time with Jesus in prayer and fast. When we have the Holyghost in us and live holy. When we study and read the scriptures and let the Holyghost reveal the word to us as we receive it. Then this confidence can come. We should not be afraid to show someone the scriptures, but as 2 Timothy 2:15 says, let us GO “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

  39. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,

31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

No matter how long it took Paul did exactly what God had planned for him to do. We should be like Paul and endure through the hard times to get the gospel shared and show what God can do with someone who has a past or broken life and what New Person you can become.

  40. 8 And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:

If you want to be used of God, you must first have a relationship with Him.

  41. 10 Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary.
11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.

    Some things never change.

Three months, Paul taught these islanders, and they were so nice to him. He even did miracles for them, but they never fully bought in to what he was teaching, as they sent him away in a ship, whose logo was the twin sons of Zeus.
Today we encounter the same pepper, nice as can be but unwilling to change. We must continue to pray for them, teaching them until Jesus moves us from their picture…

  42. The enemy will always come after revival!

3 And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

Jesus will provide all of your needs and the enemy will come straight out at you because of what God is doing in our lives, but we can shake off the enemy in Jesus Name!

  43. And when they were escaped, then they knew that the island was called Melita.

2 And the barbarous people shewed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.

God can make strangers to be friends; friends in distress. Those who are despised for homely manners, are often more friendly than the more polished; and the conduct of heathens, or persons called barbarians, condemns many in civilized nations, professing to be Christians. The people thought that Paul was a murderer, and that the viper was sent by Divine justice, to be the avenger of blood. They knew that there is a God who governs the world, so that things do not come to pass by chance, no, not the smallest event, but all by Divine direction; and that evil pursues sinners; that there are good works which God will reward, and wicked works which he will punish. Also, that murder is a dreadful crime, one which shall not long go unpunished. But they thought all wicked people were punished in this life. Though some are made examples in this world, to prove that there is a God and a Providence, yet many are left unpunished, to prove that there is a judgment to come. They also thought all who were remarkably afflicted in this life were wicked people. Divine revelation sets this matter in a true light. Good men often are greatly afflicted in this life, for the trial and increase of their faith and patience. Observe Paul’s deliverance from the danger. And thus in the strength of the grace of Christ, believers shake off the temptations of Satan, with holy resolution. When we despise the censures and reproaches of men, and look upon them with holy contempt, having the testimony of our consciences for us, then, like Paul, we shake off the viper into the fire. It does us no harm, except we are kept by it from our duty. God hereby made Paul remarkable among these people, and so made way for the receiving of the gospel. The Lord raises up friends for his people in every place whither he leads them, and makes them blessings to those in affliction.

  44. 5 And he shook off the beast into the fire, and felt no harm.

The fire is not always for us but for the very thing that could harm us. We must learn to shake thing off into the fire and allow God to take care of us.

  45. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

  46. 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:

27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
