Romans 1

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

13 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.

14 I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.

15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

  1. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    the reprobate, are left to be condemned to damnation in the “lake of fire”. When a sinner is so hardened as to feel no remorse or misgiving of conscience, it is considered as a sign of reprobation. When you give yourself over to a reprobate mind it is like a spiritual death and that is something you need to avoid at all costs. “Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.”
    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    “Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked; For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    We must hold strong and keep the faith and don’t let anything turn us away from the Love of God and his Word.
    “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    “Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.”
    ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    “Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the Lord understand all things.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭28:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    Most importantly Seek the Lord in all things.

  2. 20. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

    21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

    22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

    If you have to tell people you are something, you’re probably not.
    They professed themselves to be wise, but wouldn’t even glorify God when His power and deity are clearly seen.

  3. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

  4. 16
    Paul was not ashamed to take God’s good news to sophisticated Rome, even though the message had proved to be a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks, for he knew that it is the power of God to salvation — that is it tell howGod by His power save everyone who believes on His son. This power is extended equally to Jews and Greeks .
    The order for the Jew first and also for the Greeks was fulfilled historically during the Acts period. While we have an enduring obligation to God’s ancient people, the Jews ,are not required to evangelize then before going to the Gentiles. Today God deals with Jews and Gentiles on the sane basis, and the message and timing are the same to all.

    As I was reading this; it reminded me of the two Pastors that condoned the Florida night club shooting. It amazes me how people will twist the truth to glorify the evils that men do. This where we have to be careful how the word is delivered. Man will always take the truth and turn it to fit his needs. Careful study and breaking down of the word will reveal the truth. Always study under somebody that knows the truth and will teach you the right way. I thank you Jesus for the teachers and preachers that you have put before us this day.

  7. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
    25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
    26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature

    If you ever wonder how this would end up in the mess that it is, or how people could live in such a manner that disgusts God, this scripture reveals that God allows them over to the impurity in their heart. God will never force his will on people. That is why I believe we must be vigilant with our hearts that it doesn’t decieve us and we most be constantly be cleansed of any thing impure everyday.

  9. Romans 1: 19 ( Amp) For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, Have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things have been made ( His hand-I works). So
    [ men] are without any defence or justment].
    [ P.S.. 19 : 1-4] The Heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmation shows and proclaim His handiwork. [2] Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night shows forth knowledge. There is no speech nor spoken word [ from the stars]; their voice is not heard. [4] Yet their voice
    [ in evidence] goes out through all the earth, their sayingsto the end of the world. Or the heavens has God made a tent for the sun. God’s holy wrath and his indignation are revealed from heaven, to all ungodliness and Unrighteous of men. All because they knew. But they didn’t honer or glorify him as God.

  10. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

    17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

    19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

    Jesus Help Me!
    I beleive that too many are ashamed of the Gospel, we know who our God is, and what he has done for is, but we don’t speak out, we can talk the talk, wanna tell the world, but we don’t open our mouths, I am so guilty of that, Jesus help me, Paul was NOT ashamed, or scared, that same boldness, that same fire can be ours, but I must be bold, I must be brave!, I must GO, MY SOUL. OBEDIENCE, RELATIONSHIP depends on it!
    I bless you in the name of the Lord

  11. “Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:28-32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    This chapter clearly describes what are the things God dislikes from sin. That’s is why we must repent daily and it remained me of David in Chapter 51 how often David asked God to creat in him a clean heart. As we should always ask God to do for us.

    “Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and your judgment against me is just. For I was born a sinner— yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there. Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you. Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. Look with favor on Zion and help her; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit— with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings. Then bulls will again be sacrificed on your altar.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:1-19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    • “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”
      ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:133‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  12. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.
    Romans 1:30‭-‬32 NLT

    The world will tell us that every list of the flesh is good and is justified some sort of way. Having to justify actions or what lies in ones heart is a sign that deep down in that conscience that God has given us we know what is good and what is wicked. When the flesh is fed more than the spirit that appetite of the flesh becomes more and more insatiable. But the same goes with the spirit. When you feed your spirit with prayer and the Word of God you just want more and more! Which man will we let dominate us? Or fleshly man or spiritual man

  13. Acts 29
    16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
    17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness

  15. I’ve noticed that people typically use verses 29 thru 31 to explain how that we are in the end times, because it aptly describes this generation’s attitude. However I like to focus on verses 19 through 20, which lets us know that God has revealed himself in the hearts of all men, and atheists are without excuse.

  16. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
    17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

  17. 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

    This again reminds me of what pastor preached Sunday morning. Is our faith in God evident to the souls around us? Could we be easily convicted as a believer? Do people know you have faith in God? I pray the answer to all of these is yes, but truth is, sometimes we need a check-up. Walk by faith, in the Spirit, and be an example of God’s Word today!

  18. Cause and affect here:

    “For this (CAUSE) God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the (1)NATURAL use into that which is against (2)NATURE: And likewise also the men, leaving the (3)NATURAL use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge,(AFFECT) God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:26-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    If you haven’t read brother Vincent’s blog you definitely should, the answer for help is in his blog. There is scripture to back it up. All I know is prayer, fasting, and reading the word of God. Those 3 things right there will hold you down and keep you from falling astray. True relationship with Christ is key. So when sin is to arise in situations you can quickly identify it and turn away. If the Lord is turning them to a reprobate mind then it’s obvious that it’s a mind thing. The Bible says “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    By taking HEED I’m no English major but I believe we all know that word means to hear, but not only hear but do the word. That scripture is helping you get back “on track” now go on down the road another 1000 years and DO THE WORD “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    This book, this Bible is our guide of making it to heaven. WE NEED TO EAT THIS BOOK. It’s a heartbreaking day seeing someone fall into sin. Encourage one another. If someone is in sin don’t condemn them love them. That’s what Jesus would do. Be like Christ.

  19. iLove the Kingdom

    16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

    I know most Christians would dare to say that they are not ashamed of the Gospel. But in order to say we are not ashamed, we have to know what the word “ashamed” really means. The following is the definition.

    a·shamed
    adjective
    embarrassed or guilty because of one’s actions, characteristics, or associations.
    “you should be ashamed of yourself”
    synonyms: sorry, shamefaced, abashed, sheepish, guilty, contrite, remorseful, repentant, penitent, regretful, rueful, apologetic; More
    reluctant to do something through fear of embarrassment or humiliation.
    “I’m ashamed to say I followed him home”
    synonyms: sorry, shamefaced, abashed, sheepish, guilty, contrite, remorseful, repentant, penitent, regretful, rueful, apologetic; More

    So to know if we are really ashamed or not we have to put the word “ashamed” into context. Am I embarrassed to share the gospel? Am I too embarrassed to go to outreach and hang door invite cards on folks doors? Am I too reluctant to reach out because of fear? Think about it…when a person gets a fancy new car don’t they want to park it right next to the front door of the church? That same person when they drive their work car want to park it out back and hide it cause it’s embarrassing. This is the same way we display our love for Jesus. Are we embarrassed to praise and worship, are we afraid to really let Him have control over our lives?

    Let’s not be ashamed of the gospel.

  20. 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

  21. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    Obeying GOD’S commandments (love for GOD) we can have a good relationship with GOD , but there is no limit……the lower, the sooner and the more frequent we bend those knees (inclination of our heart, surrendering everything unto GOD) the MORE we can seeeee……. HALELUJAH!!!

  22. As we listen to the news everyday, we hear more and more about crime and mass killings. With the election going on, we hear slandering, people are deceitful, their full of malice and mean-spirited, untrustworthy, etc…

    And then I say, “How come people are so mean and wicked?”

    Then reading the Word of God this morning I got my answer…
    Romans 1:28-32 (amp)
    28) And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worthy knowing (as their Creator), God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things which are improper and repulsive,
    29) until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spirited. They are gossips (spreading rumors),
    30) slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors (of new forms) of evil, disobedient and disrespectful to parents,
    31) without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful (without pity).
    32) Although they know God’s righteous decree and His judgments, that those who do such things deserve death, yet they not only do them, but they even (enthusiastically) approve and tolerate others who practice them.

    The problem in the world today is people “do not like to retain God in their knowledge…” (kjv) / “do not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worthy knowing…”

    POFW, we have been called and seperated unto the gospel of God. So I encourage you today to keep fighting the good fight of faith and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
    What the world needs is JESUS!

  23. Romans 1
    6 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

    Paul continues to reach no matter what adversity has come his way . He had a burning desire that everyone would know the Gospel of Jesus Christ,

    Not Ashamed of the Gospel
    We’re an anchor for those who are hurting
    Seems we’re a harbor for those who are lost
    And sometimes its not always easy bearing Calvary’s cross
    We’ve been ridiculed by those who don’t know Him
    Sometimes we’re mocked by those who don’t believe
    Still I love standing up for my Jesus
    ‘Cause of all that He’s done for me

    [Chorus]
    That’s why I am not ashamed of the gospel
    The gospel of Jesus Christ
    No, I am not afraid to be counted
    But I’m willing to give my life
    See I’m ready to be
    All He wants me to be
    Give up the wrong for the right
    No, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ
    No, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ

    For every moment His hand has held mercy
    And for all the love that He’s shown all my life
    A simple thanks doesn’t say how I’m feeling
    I get tears in my eyes
    So as for me, I’ve made up my mind to keep on believing
    In the One who’s been so faithful
    I’m not out to please this whole world around me
    I’ve got my mind on eternity

  24. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

    17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

  25. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Amen.

    In the scripture, God lays out many ways that will change among the church today. Not speak more loudly than Romans 1. How many times in the past several years has these scriptures describe the very times that we are contending with. It amazes me on how many really know that the scripture gives life beyond this world but instead of accepting the knowledge of truth and wisdom, those that truly love themselves more than God have a tendency to mock the truth and God allows them to do it. But eventually he tires of trying to get them to heed his conviction but they love the unrighteousness more.

    Without a doubt a person can cause themselves to be turned over as the scripture states to a reprobate. We as the church remain steadfast and continue professing faith and become absolutely unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we shall surely see him face to face. Don’t let the world convince you that you are wrong. They are wrong because what they do or say contradicts the word of God.

    I love the Kingdom!

  26. THY KINGDOM COME
    THE DRIVEWAY TO DESTRUCTION

    21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

    GOD denial and an unthankful heart. The apostle clearly identifies these 2 traits as death wishes and paths to destruction. What a tragedy to know GOD and not reverence HIM. This attitude is demonstrated when people choose not to glorify GOD. We Glorify GOD when we seek HIM First with our FAITH, FEET and FINANCES.

    Our FAITH we willingly worship GOD. We sing songs to HIM, we clap our hands to HIM, we run and leap and praise HIM, we pray to HIM, we study to know HIM through HIS Word, we speak for HIM (share HIS Gospel for salvation, healing, instruction in righteousness and edification.

    Our FEET we willingly serve GOD. We become involved in The Kingdom of GOD by serving in our local church, regional church and global church. We look for places and opportunities to minister and serve, to GO and evangelize a neighborhood, a market, a place of employment even the world.

    Our FINANCES we willingly give to the work of GOD through Tithe and Offering. Understanding the importance and value of our Kingdom investment is crucial to the advancement of the Kingdom. YES. GOD will supply our need, but I have been witness for over 30 years now that GOD supplies needs through willing worshippers who give freely of their finances.

    The result of failing to glorify GOD and walking with an unthankful heart is that this lifestyle leads to deception and destruction. So even when I dont fully understand or even agree with everything, I do not worship people, I worship JESUS my Lord and Savior. I am thankful however that I am privileged to choose who I worship with.

    I could start over and begin another study on:

    THE DANGER OF CREATING YOUR OWN GOSPEL

    25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
    26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
    27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

  27. Romans 1:17 For theirin is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

    Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

    Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back , my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

    Gal. 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

  28. “For even though they knew God [as the Creator], they did not honor Him as God or give thanks [for His wondrous creation]. On the contrary, they became worthless in their thinking [godless, with pointless reasonings, and silly speculations], and their foolish heart was darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God for an image [worthless idols] in the shape of mortal man and birds and four-footed animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their own hearts to [sexual] impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them [abandoning them to the degrading power of sin], because [by choice] they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”
    ‭‭ROMANS‬ ‭1:21-25‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    What are you worshipping?

    Many people would blame this on the enemy and say he “clouded their thinking”. But the amplified version says “BY CHOICE, they exchanged the truth of God for a lie.” They decided that the creature was more worthy of their praise then the Creator. Claiming they knew better than God, they lost it all.

    We may not say we know better than God, but how many times have we thought our plans would be better than His?

    We may not physically build an idol or worship an animal. But how many times have we focused more on the blessing than the Blesser, creation more than the Creator, or the healing more than the Healer?

    Every day we decide, we make the choice in whom or what we will worship and live for. And if God does not remain our number one priority, our number one focus, we will lose sight of Him.

    Make the choice today in who you will serve!

  29. 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
    22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
    23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

    These verses point out that when we stop giving God the glory for our blessings, wisdom or knowledge we can become puffed up with our own selves, thinking we are some great wise one when actually we have become a fool. We are his children & his servants and the servant is not greater than the master. I’m thankful that as a child of God we continue to grow and learn of Him.

  30. 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

    9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

    10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.

    11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;

    Paul was concerned about imparting something to the Romans Church that would establish them in the doctrine of Jesus Christ.

    God blesses POFW with new believers every week – someone being filled with His Spirit and/or baptized in His Name. What are we imparting to them? How are we investing in their lives? Pouring into them what we know? Encouraging them on a daily basis? Feeding them the Word of God? Teaching them by our example to pray in the prayer room, worship in the service, rejoice over victories won?

    Who am I discipling today?

  31. 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    Sin will always take you so much deeper than you want to go. The enemy wants to deceive us and keep us away from God’s truth to destroy us. Keep the word of God in your heart, it’ll bring peace and fill you with joy and you will be saved. If we want the kingdom of God to come in our lives, we gotta put our God’s word in our hearts first.

  32. 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
    9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
    10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.
    11 For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established;
    12 That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

  33. Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle and singled out for God’s good news…

    For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened.
    Romans 1:1‭, ‬21 HCSB

    Most Americans know about God, but they don’t glorify Him (or treat Him appropriately) as God. We tend to treat God like an elected president rather than a Sovereign King. The differing attitudes are as follows:

    Toward a President: I LIVE TO DO MY WILL. I listen to you with interest and treat you with a modicum of respect as long as you are serving my desires, benefiting my life, and not infringing upon my rights. Should you fail to meet my expectations, I will impeach you and elect a new president who will.

    Toward a Sovereign King: I LIVE TO DO THY WILL, O LORD. My life is not my own. I only live because You allow it; thus, I only do what You desire.

    Paul had this second attitude, and he reminded others in almost every letter he wrote by proclaiming that he was “a slave” (a servant or vassal) of Jesus Christ. The word SLAVE in the first verse is DOÚLOS. It is defined in the ‘Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible’ as meaning
    “slave, one who is in a permanent relation of servitude to another, HIS WILL ALTOGETHER CONSUMED IN THE WILL OF THE OTHER” (emphasis added).

    When our will is consumed in His, we do only those things that please the Father. We love, we obey, we submit, we serve, we sacrifice, we prefer others, we work His fields, and we live with gratitude for His great mercy towards us.

    When we do not cultivate this proper attitude toward God, however, we elevate ourselves as god and attempt to make Him our servant—expecting immediate answers to prayers made after the lusts of our own flesh. We become unthankful, unholy, depressed, and self-consumed. We seek things to satisfy and become more and more depraved as our lusts take further control over our will. Calling ourselves liberated, we become slaves to lusts that can never be appeased.

    If I were to be honest, I would have to say that most of us ‘Christians’ live somewhere between the two extremes. We call Him Lord, but we fall short of full surrender to His sovereignty. We try to serve Him in a way that also pleases self. We see ourselves more as hired or voluntary servants than as purchased slaves–pretending we have options and the right to daily choose how we will serve that day. We mix our will with His and deceive ourselves into thinking that we are all in.

    The will cannot be mastered; it must be surrendered…bit by bit…day by day…until we can honestly lift our hands to God and say, “O Lord, this day, I live to do Thy will. What would You have me to do today?”

  34. 2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

    Just another affirmation that God not man directed this book. And how it correlates through many lifestimes and centuries.

  35. 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

    16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

    17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

    19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

  36. Paul gives us many thoughts in this passage of scripture! Consider the contrast in those who live for him. We often hear the latter portion of this verse quoted that reminds us to live by faith but it begins with ‘For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written…’ The portion we quote is what was already written, but the greater revelation from God is given as we live our life from the perspective of going from faith to faith. There are obviously difficult times and situations in between, and those will always be there, but what we focus upon is those triumphs of faith! This is what God did today! This is what God did yesterday! This is what God’s working on in my life for tomorrow! We’re can’t afford to be distracted by negative thoughts and attitudes. When we get in the habit of putting those behind us and focusing on what God is doing through us, he gradually reveals more of his nature to us because that is our heartfelt desire. This is the perspective we desperately need in our life!

    Those in the world do not share that perspective, and notice again the details. ‘For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness’ … notice his wrath is clearly against the sin itself but when once sin is chosen, those men are referred to as those… ‘who hold the truth in unrighteousness’ It’s not that they never hear the truth, or even that they don’t understand, ‘Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.’ What greater condemnation could be spoken… not a man, our even a prophet, but God himself shewed it unto them and is manifest in their life.

    He goes on to say ‘the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, EVEN HIS ETERNAL POWER AND GODHEAD; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.’ This is why we worship God every time we conduct our services! We lift him up in prayer, we lift him up in praise, we lift his word and allow God’s voice to speak, and then humble ourselves before God at his altar. We give thanks and praise to his name!

    We make so many excuses for those in the world who do not seem to understand, but the Bible clearly declares they are without excuse… even with redirect to the godhead. The Bible clearly declares we are saved by the simplicity that is in Christ… yet they became vain in themselves rather than seeking that greater measure of faith in him. That’s why we live from faith to faith, giving glory to the God that brings us through, and trusting that God is in control! We did not make his kingdom, we are servants in his kingdom, and ever so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of something that is so much greater than ourselves!

  37. 15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
    It is one thing to try, it is yet another thing to give it your all. When someone gives it their all to God they can be used by God. People we see in the world can be passionate, but they need their passion refocused. The Saul who persecuted the church had his passion refocused to preaching the word and building up the church and writing the very book we are blogging on. Paul gave it his all, he was passionate. So, let us GO SHARE THE GOSPEL passionately, and help people refocus their passion from the world to the kingdom of God!

  38. [Rom 1:21-24 NLT] 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies.

    If you do not worship God, you will worship something. If you do not worship God, your mind is confused, your thinking is not right, and since you have turned from the light of truth, you are headed for darkness. Once you are headed for darkness, there is no telling how far away from God you will go but if you do not repent, you will end up at verse 24; ABANDONED by God which leads to SHAMEFUL, VILE and DEGRADING things. The Bible never paints homosexuality in a good light.

    [Lev 18:22 KJV] 22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.
    [Lev 20:13 KJV] 13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

    [Rom 1:26-28 NLT] 26 That is why God ABANDONED them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this SIN, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. 28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he ABANDONED them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

    Three times in these verses God is said to have ABANDONED these people. He calls this lifestyle, shameful, unnatural, burning with lust, suffering a penalty, things that should NEVER be done, and then plainly calls it SIN. How anyone can call homosexuality anything else can only come from a darkened and confused mind. Yet, our younger generation is being deceived and are accepting of this sin because it is a very wicked spirit and stronghold in our time. Nevertheless, Jesus died for all sinners and all can come to repentance! We must reach them with the compassion and truth of Jesus Christ. The homosexual is not our enemy, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, spiritual wickedness! Only Jesus can break the chains of such bondage and deception!

  39. What are you doing with the truth?

    8 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

    A half truth or telling half of the story is the same as lying or even worse to deceive. Are we the same way if we hold the truth and do not speak of it. If we are recipients of the Holy Ghost but don’t bear fruit the scripture says he would dung us first then curse us. This gospel is for the whole world and the reason I have it is to give away. It looks like this scripture says that if you know the truth and don’t share it you will suffer the wrath of God. Now let’s go to outreach!

  40. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

    Live by faith. We are not meant to live like one would say “a normal” lifestyle but rather live in the realm were the supernatural operates. We are to live by faith. There will he things bigger than us but our trust is in God. Circumstances that require a faith in God to come out through for us.

  41. Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

    Paul has Good News to tell everybody. Good News is something important like the good things that Jesus can do. God hates sin.

  42. “First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith [your trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness] is being proclaimed in all the world. For God, whom I serve with my spirit by preaching the gospel of His Son, is my witness as to how continuously I mention you in my prayers; always pleading that somehow, by God’s will, I may now at last come to you. For I long to see you so that I may share with you some spiritual gift, to strengthen and establish you; that is, that we may be mutually encouraged and comforted by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.”
    ‭‭ROMANS‬ ‭1:8-12‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    The love and compassion of Paul is so prevalent to the church he helped birth into the Kingdom. He didn’t stop at just seeing them be filled and baptized but he followed up. He made sure to pray for them and go back and check on them. And also to encourage them in the Lord.

  43. 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:

    Oh how great obedience is in the sight of God! Our obedience can go allot father in the Kingdom rather than what our sacrifice will do, Abraham was called by God to SACRIFICE his son Issac and Abraham was OBEDIANT so… what did God do? He didn’t make him do it. God saw his obedience and shed grace upon him. Jesus takes obedience

  44. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    Sin affects our actions and even our thoughts. When we turn away from God we have an unsound mind which makes people make decision based of their own flesh and not what God truly wants. This is why verse 21 says that they knew God but would worship Him. There’s a difference in knowing about a God and knowing the God. When you know the God that creates everything it builds our faith and trust to truly just rely on Him and not on our own understanding. When we know Him we love what He loves and hate what he hates!!! This is why it’s so important to pray, fast, die daily, speak in tonguees. We can’t leave any room open for the devil to sneak up on us.

  45. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

  46. Romans 1:20

    For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

    In that day, even atheist which mostly believe in Darwinian Evolution, will be without excuse. They will stand in front of the judgement seat of God, and without excuse. They will see God and tremble.

  47. Verses 5-6 AMP “It is through Him that we have received grace and [our] apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the Gentiles, and you also are among those who are called of Jesus Christ to belong to Him;”. Let’s keep on promoting Jesus this weekend as we share our testimony and show His love.

  48. 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Amen.

  49. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
    Romans 1:21‭-‬23 NIV

    It is so vital as believers that we have the mind of God in us and that is understanding and knowing His word. With out this we kneel unto our own understanding and man mind will take you only to confusion and doing what our flesh wants.

  50. 8Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world. 9God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heart by spreading the Good News about his Son.

    Pray for one another. You show God, you care for others by putting others before your needs. Your prayers will save and protect others from harm. Your prayers will heal and bless others. God sees you good deeds, and will bless also.
