Romans 16

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:

That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.

Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us.

Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow-prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord.

Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved.

10 Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus’ household.

11 Salute Herodion my kinsman. Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord.

12 Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord.

13 Salute Rufus chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.

14 Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them.

15 Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them.

16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

21 Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.

22 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord.

23 Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.

24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

  1. This is a great chapter, what I’ve gotten out of it is to give credit to where credit is due. Uplifting one another, and be in unity with one another. Just a simple thank you or great job goes a long way.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭133:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  2. Wow….talk about a “shout out” in the MSG version. What will they say about you?? Have you been a tried and true veteran, a hard worker, a good friend or a diligent server of our Master? We must continuously and prayerfully strive for this and pray for one another. We also must be alert as verses 19-20 MSG say “And so while there has never been any question about your honesty in these matters—I couldn’t be more proud of you!—I want you also to be smart, making sure every “good” thing is the real thing. Don’t be gullible in regard to smooth-talking evil. Stay alert like this, and before you know it the God of peace will come down on Satan with both feet, stomping him into the dirt. Enjoy the best of Jesus!”

  3. Paul is emphasizing that the laborers in the church should be recognized and appreciated for their service. Additionally a unified effort to bolster the church body should be a goal of every parishioner. Moreover recognizing uncontented perspectives that are opposed to the doctrine of the gospel will help us stay focused on our service to the Lord, and his body which is the church.

  4. Now to Him who is able to establish and strengthen you [in the faith] according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery [of the plan of salvation] which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now has been disclosed and through the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the commandment of the eternal God, leading them to obedience to the faith, to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forevermore! Amen.

Share the gospel with those whom surround your world!!! We can not afford to be silent any longer.
There is power in the words we speak, do we speak death or life? You may be working with tge same people or go to school with them, but don’t be discouraged they are watching you very closely and desire what you have tgat is a true relationship with Jesus. They need you to lead them to the cross.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
    Romans 1:16 KJV

….I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
    John 10:10 KJV

  5. 17. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

    18. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

    Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

  6. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

This was where I had difficulty. Turning from the ways of the world. I have to stand back and look at myself everyday: then ask whom do you serve. This has been my struggle daily. To have the wisdom and understanding concerning the ways of the this world. The devil can be a trickster and make you think you’re serving God; when in fact he has a hold of you and you don’t even know it till it’s to late. Jesus help me to have the wisdom of the evils that temp me to move. Build me up and plant me like the trees by the river.

  7. Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Pastor always says that we should give honor where honor is due. Their obedience was spread all around and now people want to see, what that church had that others maybe didn’t, POFW has something that other churches don’t have, and our Church is always doing something that causes a stir in the community, and people notice when, it seems like our Pastor and First Lady are always getting some kind of compliment for their passion, and service, and God is moving like he moved in this congregation, and he is pouring his spirit out on us, but we need to be open to get doused, Jesus help me to be in total unison with this place of worship, help me to be open to the saturation of your spirit in my life!

  8. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

God is called this church to be and unity. The only division God has ever instructed us to do is dividing ourselves from those that cause issues within the church. We are all called to be of the same mind towards Christ. Philippians 2:2 tells us that we should be of the same Accord and of one mind, having the same love and being like-minded. Those that cause division are those going against their will of God and thus should be marked.

  9. 16:19 For your obidience is come abroad unto all men, I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
    BE WISE!

  10. Romans 16 :19-20 (Amp) For while you loyalty and obedience is known to all , so that I rejoice over you
I would have you well versed and wise as to what is good and innocent and guiltless as to what is evil. [20] And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet, The grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ
( the Messiah) be with you. Here Paul is warning us about the evil desires . Stay prayed up and stay in the God’ Word.

  11. Most of this chapter is giving things to people who have worked hard to continue the work of God. This shows us that even in the Scriptures people are to be thanked for their hard work and dedication to the Lord. We are extremely grateful for all of those who work around us and his kingdom every day at POFW. We give honor where honor is due. God bless the hard-working office staff and leadership of POFW for leading us after Christ and leading us to impact our world!

  12. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

To avoid them doesn’t mean not to love them, just avoid them…..we can love from a distance. Making sure that our spirit is right before GOD ALWAYS!!! It doesn’t mean to ignore them either but not to seek them out if we know that this person is contrary on a certain subject, why go and push those buttons, why stir the pot? If we can’t be close to them and be the example that they need, then we surely need to step aside……we could become a stumbling block……it’s not always about them bringing division but it may well could be that we think too highly of our selves and really aren’t as mature as we think we are, therefore becoming a stumbling block………HELP US JESUS!!!

  13. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Amen.

The word of God Says by their fruits we shall know them.

  14. 25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began, but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith.

  15. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

This is the era that we live in!

A new convert asked me the question, why are there so many different kinds of Christians and they all claim to have the TRUTH? Who really has the truth?

It surprised me because the world teaches that everyone can have there own version of the TRUTH. That no one is wrong and that all paths lead to the same end.

My response was simple. The BIBLE is the up most authority. We need to put our beliefs up against the WORD and they need to be congruent. Side by side, against the apóstoles and prophets.

We have the TRUTH! Praise God

  16. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

here we are told to “mark them”, who don’t teach as we have learned, and avoid them. We all have different levels of revelation that we walk in, and the scriptures is not talking about that, but rather those who are attacking what Pastor is teaching. Those who only want to cause division. There is nothing wrong with trying to get a deeper revelation, as long as it is done humbly and correctly. Let’s just say, they better pray before they do that.

Another scripture tells us to “know those that labor among us,” and if we do this we will know who is stirring a mess. If we practice to “build up our most Holy faith,” we will grow in revelations, and position our hearts so that we can avoid being around those who cause divisions, because we will be continually studying The Doctrine.

  17. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Another great thing about God’s peace! Bless us with Your peace Lord!

  18. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Be aware of those who teach false doctrines, and cause division in the church. Stay prayed up. Read the Word and know the Word in your heart.

  19. iLove the Kingdom
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Some that come to POFW, (believe it or not) might have a secret agenda. If people’s spirits are not right, just do as the scripture says and do not allow them to have influence over you. The Spirit of unity is too important to allow those who would bring division to cause any loss of momentum. We must stay positive and stay connected and be obedient to the Word of God.

  20. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
    Romans 16:17‭-‬18 KJV

The only time in 16 chapters where Paul doesn’t instruct the believers to love, forgive, and prefer is when he is discussing those who cause divisions and deceive others in the church. The unity and health of the church body as a whole takes precedence over showing mercy and bearing long with a false believer in the midst. The insincere cannot be allowed to remain in a position to disrupt the body or harm the faith of those who are sincere. The body has a responsibilIty to stand against those who bring disease and dysfunction to its members.

  21. Matthew 1:18 verses 18-21
18 Now the Birth of Jesus Christ was as follows:After his mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the holy spirit.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
20 But while he thought about these things, behold,an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,Joseph, son of David,do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
21 And she will bring forth a Son,and you shall call HIs name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

  22. 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

It is by power of God that we are established in His Kingdom, it is His mercy and His grace that was given to us. Given credit to whom it is due, tell someone they’ve done a good job or that you appreciate them for the ministry they do. We have an awesome pastor and pastors wife that labor tirelessly it seems for us, seeking God for the direction to lead this great church. We have a destiny to fulfill in the N Texas District and we need to do it in unity, lifting one another up and proceed. Thank you to all who labor -perhaps some unseen -in our midst. I bless you all in the name of Jesus. We have still a harvest of souls before us and we will reach our city with our unity of purpose.

  23. At first I thought this would be very difficult to comment on, but while reading it the chapter screamed too me of relationship. Paul is giving honor to, showing care for, saluting- giving respect to those who labored in the Lord with him. He names 23 people and 3 more who represent churches. There’s a closeness, a camaraderie there similar to the bonds that are formed by comrades in arms. This is what every church needs! Bonds of closeness are formed as we labor together, pray together, worship together, rejoice together! By this shall ALL men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another! Paul was showing his love for the brethren and sisters in this precious chapter. After he warned them about those who would cause division to the precious family of God, he went on to name more dear laborers.

  24. Paul sets a beautiful end to this chapter with greetings and warnings as he says his farewell.
One act of kindness can make a grand difference to ministry All the people Paul was greeting had helped him some how along his journey. Don’t ever under estimate the importance you are in the Kingdom of God . A smile a reassuring word an act of kindness. It goes deeper than you can ever know. There is a place for you to be used in the Kingdom .

  25. THY KINGDOM COME
    DEVIL CRUSHERS

20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

The apostle in verse 17 instructs the church; 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

MARK – 4648. skopeoœ; to take aim at (spy), i.e. (figuratively) regard: — consider, take heed, look at (on), mark.

AVOID – 575. apo; a primary particle; “off,” i.e. away (from something near), in various senses (of place, time, or relation; literal or figurative):

DIVISON – 1370. dichostasia; disunion, i.e. (figuratively) dissension: — division, sedition.

Identify, Isolate and Ignore those that cause division or disunity. Paul gives these instructions first, then in verse 19 Paul commends the acts of OBEDIENCE.
19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

OBEDIENCE – 5218. hypakoeœ; attentive hearkening, i.e. (by implication) compliance or submission: — obedience, (make) obedient, obey(-ing).

Now verse 20 reveals the fruit of UNITY and SUBMISSION.

20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.

The word BRUISE in our english language seems to indicate a minor bump or sore muscle. The natural mind may think, “I want to do more than bruise that ol devil”.

Well through UNITY and OBEDIENCE we become conduit to be DEVIL CRUSHERS.

BRUISE – 4937. syntriboœ; to crush completely, i.e. to shatter (literally or figuratively): — break (in pieces), broken to shivers (+ -hearted), bruise.

The GOD of PEACE. When we are at PEACE with GOD = OBEDIENCE and at PEACE with OTHERS = UNITY. JESUS crushes satan under my feet, indicating that I am involved. Under my feet, identifies where satan belongs, (not in my head). Under my feet, suggests that my feet are moving, walking in the SPIRIT, dancing in PRAISE, going to TEACH.

Lets today be DEVIL CRUSHERS in The Kingdom of GOD. Forgive and Move ON in JESUS.

  26. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Amen.

This scripture tells that we have to learn that coming out among those that are disobedient and dividing those that are unified in the kingdom is not complicated. We have to use the knowledge and wisdom given by god to bring unity to the body of believers. Pastor Watts preached that giving honor to those that deserve honor, and that in unity the POFW will continue to strive for revival in this end time. Scripture states in Haggai 2:9-

9The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

We have to strive for the greatest outpouring of God’s spirit to see the miracles, signs, and wonders. This can only come by prayer and fasting.

    I love the Kingdom!

  27. “Then God, who gives peace, will soon crush Satan under your feet. I pray that our Lord Jesus will be kind to you.”(Romans‬ ‭16:20‬ ‭CEV‬‬)

When we give the glory to God and the praise Him, that’s declares to satan that he’s crushed under our feet and that he didn’t triumph.

  28. Obedience
20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

We cannot find it strange that right before this verse the Bible talks about obedience. Obedience gives us a level of authority we will not experience unless we are willing to lay down our will for the will of the Father.

Let us learn to come in full alignment with the vision and direction God is leading us individually and corporately. Remember He knows the future and He holds our future in His hands. So what better way to experience life to the fullest than to find our direction in the one who holds it all and has out best interest in mind.

  29. Paul gives honor where honor is due in the first portion of this chapter, saluting those who have assisted him on his journey in reaching lost people.

None of us got where we are by ourselves. I’m standing on the shoulders of my grandparents who were my first pastors, and the many leaders and mentors I’ve had since that time, teaching me and leading me my example.

I don’t ever want to forget where I have come from, and although being raised in the Church, God has kept me, protected me, lead me, guided me, but I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for those in my past who I honor today for their sacrifice and for the seeds they have planted in my life.

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

  30. 26 But now as the prophets foretold and as the eternal God has commanded, this message is made known to all Gentiles everywhere, so that they too might believe and obey him. 27 All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen.

The Word of God, repentance, salvation and Holy Spirit is for all. Its up to us to teach others about the Kingdom of God. Let’s not keep it a secret!

  31. Romans 16:25-27 (amp)
    25) Now to Him who is able to establish and strengthen you (in the faith) according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery (of the plan of salvation) which has been kept secret for long ages past,
    26) But now has been disclosed and through the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the commandment of the eternal God, leading them to obedience to the faith,
    27) To the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forevermore! Amen

“The Plan of Salvation – through the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all the nations”
The gospel is universal. It is to be preached throughout the world – to all the nations.
(St. Matt. 24:14, St. Matt. 28:19, St. Mark 13:10, St. Mark 16:15, St. Luke 24:17)

  32. WOW…. This chapter really says so many things!! I was raised in church my whole life. My parents were youth leaders, Sunday School teachers, greeters, keepers of the House of God…. I am so thankful that I had grandparents and parents that led by example EVERYDAY and were consistent. My pastor and His wife were consistent and I never heard anything but words of encouragement and affirmation from them. Even when there were times of reprimands, it was done in love…. “God chastised those He loves”

I feel in today’s world, we are living such fast paced, hurrying and “microwave” generation that words of affirmation or compassion are rarely thought of. God has been dealing with me about learning to put down the phones, ipads.. Electronic devices and spend time with family and others around me. Whether we know it or not, people in our world are watching everything we do and say… We can lead them to the cross and away from the cross. That has been my prayer over the last few months for myself and my family to draw closer to the cross.

  33. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

The scripture states that satan is under your feet. In order for something to be under, you must be over it correct?

Rise up obedient child of God, allow the Peace of the Lord to be with you. Don’t allow worry to hinder you from what God has in store for you.

  34. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

Decievers and didviders do not announce themselves, they use smooth words and flattering talk to try and cause disunity. So how can you tell when that is the motive of someone? When they speak ill of the man of God or the church itself. We must set ourselves apart from those who only seek to cause division in the church.

  35. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

Amen.

  36. 20
And the God of peace shall
    bruise Satan under your feet
    shortly. The grace of our
    Lord Jesus Christ be with
    you. Amen

  37. Do not Deceive.

17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

I have had the opportunity to grow up in church. However I wish I could say that Everyone that claims to be Christians are. We live in a world were the norm is to be deceived. Wither you read the “fine print” or not. It is a true gem to find someone that is not out too, get one over on you. How as the church, do we combat this notion? The only way is to tell the truth and be doers of what we say we will do. Be the church to someone around you today, and show the love and life of Jesus Christ.

  38. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

  39. Paul makes a powerful statement here. So many people think they need to improve their understanding of the world to be effective, but Paul said, ‘yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.’ We don’t need a greater understanding of sin, we need to allow his light to shine into the darkness of the world! Our efforts need to be focused upon the truth: on that which is good!

Notice he spoke this after saying, ‘For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf:’ Their obedience was based upon their understanding, and it was known unto all! They weren’t known for their understanding of what everyone else believed, they were known for their obedient submission to the truth! Our focus should always be upon him!

Paul was glad for them, for their success and how it was noised abroad, and he took the time to give them a powerful gem of understanding. The key to their continued success was in their focus… to take the time to be wise in the things that are good, and remain simple concerning all evil. That may seem overly simplistic, but sometimes it’s the basic things in our walk with God that make the difference. Consistent habits, consistent prayer, consistent study, a consistent walk with God that gives glory to him and brings us ever closer to him!

  40. 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

  41. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

  42. Josiah: 12 Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord.
The Bible tells us the harvest is great but the labourers are few. It says “For many are called, but few are chosen.”Matthew 22:13. This testimony is one that I strive for, to be one who labours much in the Lord. So, let us GO LABOUR IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

  43. 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Don’t over think it. Wise on the things that are good and simple concerning evil. There should be no need to over think of something is evil. Keeping away from the bad and exercise wisdom to do good will cause the Lord to be and fight for you.

  44. 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

God designed the church to be unified, just like the human body has many members or organs they all work together. Paul elaborates a salute to many he has worked for the kingdom. If someone were to cause disunity it would cause stress on the body, and other member would have to work harder or do without to sustain function. Such people that cause divisions are best to be avoided, their fruit call them out, making for easy identification. Marking them makes it smoother for us to function, much like traffic cones around an accident site. Causing such division is not of God, thus making enmity with Him and at risk for judgment. Therefore it is the will of God that his church be with the same mind and one accord.

  45. “I am warning you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who try to keep you from staying together. They want to trip you up. They teach you things opposite to what you have learned. Stay away from them.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭16:17‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

We must protect the unity among us. And encourage one another in the Word. My prayer is that we would fall in love with the Word and give ourself into the doctrine.

  46. I love how Paul brings attention to his brothers and sisters for their work in the Lord, bringing about a sense of unity and family to the church.

  47. “And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them. Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭16:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As the body of Christ in the church we must be of one mind and in one accord with each other. We might not always agree with each other because we all think different as a church that’s why God appointed our Pastor to lead us all.
That’s why we must be careful when people go against what our Pastor teaches us and stay away from those who are against our leaders. Nothing good comes from those who go against the will of God for his church and our leaders.

  48. 22 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord.

Even the greatest men of God need help, showing how well the body of Christ works and moves
