1 Corinthians 5

It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.

And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.

For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

It is not enough to just be a Christian ourselves but we should be around Christian company. It is one thing to witness to people in this world but another to go and do what they do. Who we go through life with can affect who we become. Proverbs 1:5 says “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:” The Bible says we are in this world but we are not of this world. We should witness to the lost and not get led aside ourselves! So, let us GO WITNESS IN JESUS NAME!

  2. Verse 6-8 NLT

6Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough? 7Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us.g 8So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old breadh of wickedness and evil, but with the new breadi of sincerity and truth.

The old saying is that one bad apple can spoil the bushel. Many times when encountered by the wickedness and evil of this world many people say that they would not be around it at all. They want to limit themselves from dealing with those things but what about the time when you associate with those that might say something derogatory or against someone else, maybe a joke or simple comment and we laugh or just snicker and go on with our day. If we allow the little things like that in our life and refuse them, then we have sinned against God. Little bitty sins are the same as big ole sins.

The scripture states in Song of Solomon 2:15 (NLT)

Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming!

We have don’t have to be so heavenly minded that we are no earthly good, but we have to be alert of the enemy and how he is trying to come into our lives. We have to be fruitful for the kingdom of God By having righteousness and sanctification by the power and authority of the Holy Ghost.

    I love the Kingdom!

  3. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Judgement; what a time we live in. People judge us by anything. The type of car we drive, the clothes we wear, we’re even judged on how we worship God. Who are we to judge: last time I read extensively God is the judge of our salvation. Man can’t condemn man; not can man say well done my faithful servant. Man is by no means the one that can enter us into heaven. It’s like this; I am the only one that can save me. I can’t save anybody, but I can be that guide to their salvation. I alone will face our Lord when it comes to judgement. I will hear well done my faithful servant or I know you not. Thank you Jesus for being the light of my salvation.

  4. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

God is not one to tolerate those that defile the house of the Lord. With all his Mercy and Grace, he remains firm that he will not be mocked. He doesn’t address sinners the way he addresses those that apart of his body and know better. He has levels and different ways to dealing with sin, and those that he had held a higher standard to, he has a way that deals with them much More harsh than ones that are not in the church and in need of grace and mercy

  5. 1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.

When we marry, we are from that moment one, and God binds us together, I only looked at fornication in one light, but It has different aspects, when we are have relations as a unmarried man or woman, we are sinning against your own body..
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
    1 Corinthians 6:18‭-‬20 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/1co.6.18-20.KJV
I thought that fornication was just unmarried relation, but it also is due to Idolitry, I was once told that the reason why we have a desire to worship is because God designed us that way, that’s why people are ready to worship anything, to fulfil the need! So Idolitry is fornication as well!
    Fornication: illicit sexual intercourse
adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.

  6. 2. You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your fellowship.

    6. Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?NLT

It’s surprising how little shame is associated with sin these days. Instead of being embarrassed about what they are doing or have done, people will post it on social media for all to see, feeling little or no remorse for returning to the ways of the world.

Jesus, iPray for a revival of Godly sorrow to repentance among Your People, for how can we lead others to the Light when we are in darkness ourselves?

  7. 1 Corinthians 12-13 (Amp) What [ business] of mine is it and what right have I judge outsiders ? IS it not those inside [ the church ] upon whom you are to pass disciplinary sentence on them as the facts require] ? ]13] God alone sits in judgement on those who are outside, Drive out wicked one from among you [ expel him from your church] . The Lord is the judge ! We have know right to judge anything or anybody !

  8. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

Although we are not the final judge we cannot wink at sin in the camp. Pastor Watts needs to keep preaching strong because it calls the sin out of the congregation. When I read this this morning I was reminded of the Valley of Achor. This mans sin was causing death throughout the entire camp and until the man of God dealt with it people were going to die. We love the sinner and hate the sin. We live in the grace of almighty God through the blood of Jesus Christ but sin is still opposite of God and we cannot fellowship with it if we want to be with him.

  9. Paul reminds the churches many times to ‘Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.’ In this passage he expounds upon it with another thought from their traditional feasts and couples that with the sacrifice that was made for us. ‘For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.’

The Jewish people understood the necessity of unleavened bread, both from the example of their feasts as well as the Tabernacle itself. Leaven was a typology for sin, and no sin was to be partaken of in the temple. It served as an example for their lives as well, although sadly often poorly followed. He points out the even greater sacrifice that Jesus offered upon the cross as our new testament passover lamb, a perfect offering to stone for the sin so prevalent in our lives as we make our way to him.

Although he was addressing a particular sin in this passage, the same argument holds for any sin in our lives. We don’t partake of it, we don’t look at it, we don’t speak of it, we don’t joke about it, it isn’t part of any of our entertainment because it brings about death. We are children of the light that brings forth life, and the death of our saviour should be the only death we choose to mediate upon, because his death is what brought forth life to us all! As Paul says in another passage, we don’t need to figuratively slay him again and again with a willing partaking of the leaven he died to remove from our lives. We need to live an unleavened life in sincerity, allowing his light of truth to truly shine through our lives into an ever darkening world around us.

  10. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
    1 Corinthians 5:11 KJV

Cleaning house must require an examination of ones heart! Are you truly in the faith, or just fooling yourself? God requires holiness from us because HE is HOLY in every way! They’re certain things that we should not touch, see, speak, hear or do upon what the word teaches us, and the Holy Ghost shows us. Even when pastor preaches it. So why is it that we ignore correction? And do those things we shouldn’t. The grace of GOD truly isn’t a license to sin. God desires obedience and holiness from the body.

For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
    GALATIANS 6:8 AMP

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
    Galatians 5:19‭, ‬24 KJV

“Set yourselves apart for a holy life. Live a holy life, because I am God , your God. Do what I tell you; live the way I tell you. I am the God who makes you holy.
    Leviticus 20:7‭-‬8 MSG

  11. Amen just like one of my favorite verses ..2 chronicles 7:14 .. We love this world but we as followers of Jesus have different thought patterns , actions, intentions .

  12. 1 Corinthians 5:5-7 (amp)
    5) You are to hand over this man to Satan for the destruction of his body, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
    6) Your boasting (over the supposed spirituality of your church) is not good (indeed, it is vulgar and inappropriate). Do you not know that (just) a little leaven ferments the whole batch (of dough, just as a little sin corrupts a person or an entire church)?
    7) Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new batch, just as you are, still unleavened. For Christ our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed.

There are 2 reasons why this man and his sin had to be dealt with…
    One, for this man’s salvation
Two, for the sake of the church

  13. But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people.
    1 Corinthians 5:10‭-‬11 NLT
Be aware the must be unity in the church this chapter really emphasize how important it is to have Unity .when there Unity in the church you can noticed a book being move. God knows we are no perfect and we all make mistakes . In the last days there going to be people who come to church who will try to do their very best to cause division , this doesn’t always happen in the church it could be happened outside the church. Remember this a spark of a fire can cause the whole city to burn down

  14. 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

    Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

No old ways are accepted here, except the old paths, where is the good way!!!
    Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV)
16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

  15. “God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.””
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Careful who you hang with.
This chapter should get you on your toes and have your eyes a little wider on who to associate with inside the church. When it comes down to it you’re holding your own salvation and if someone claims to be a believer or a Holy Ghost filled tongue talker then pay close attention to what they do on their down time. Am I talking to people about Christ or am I talking to people about people. We have to be able to keep the son to a minimum, partner up and spread the Gospel and show this Lost world what Church is all about.

  16. 1Corinthians
9-13 I wrote you in my earlier letter that you shouldn’t make yourselves at home among the sexually promiscuous. I didn’t mean that you should have nothing at all to do with outsiders of that sort. Or with crooks, whether blue- or white-collar. Or with spiritual phonies, for that matter. You’d have to leave the world entirely to do that! But I am saying that you shouldn’t act as if everything is just fine when a friend who claims to be a Christian is promiscuous or crooked, is flip with God or rude to friends, gets drunk or becomes greedy and predatory. You can’t just go along with this, treating it as acceptable behavior. I’m not responsible for what the outsiders do, but don’t we have some responsibility for those within our community of believers? God decides on the outsiders, but we need to decide when our brothers and sisters are out of line and, if necessary, clean house.

God wants us to be examples. If someone has fallen or is in sin we are to help them . There will be some who will not take instruction …………
God wants us to stay in His righteousness. This world has taken what was meant for a beautiful act between a husband and wife. Man and woman who have come before God with a commitment. Commitment is a word of the past . We the bride of Christ have committed ourself to Jesus Christ. We cannot be as the world. If we read, watch , listen to music that has( sexual overtones which almost everything does) we can find ourself right in the midst of being a part of fornication. Our world allows everything that goes against the word of God . This is why we must cover our minds with the word. Guard our self’s lest we too should fall into temptation. We must clothe ourself daily in the word and His in presence. Pray without ceasing. Let the mind that is within Christ be within us.Spiritual fornication can be putting someone or something else into your life that keeps you from the commitment you have given to God . Yes this world is filled with sin but we the church have a strong responsibility to teach and lead how to live Godly lives. We must instruct even those in the church and those coming into the church how to live . Just because everyone else is doing what’s contrary to the Word does not mean we the church will. Come out from the world. In the world but not of it. Committed to God and His righteousness. In Jesus name.

It’s not our job to scold people for not living holy or righteous, however we cannot entertain or support those that call themselves Christians, but their lifestyles fail to show it. I would hate for someone desperate for Jesus be turned away out of confusion by what we allow to happen around us, even with other people. Paul says to hand those that are living double lives over to the enemy so they are no longer among us. Strong words, but crucial to the integrity and lifeline of our own walk. Jesus, help us to boldly defending Your Gospel, even from the tares among us. Jesus name amen.

  18. 12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?
13 God will judge those outside. Expel the wicked man from among you.

Don’t worry about judgement of sinners outside the body of Christ. God will deal with them.

  19. 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

We should be mindful of the company we keep and what we decide to entertain. Of course we need to go out and witness and build relationships with people by showing love to them to lead them to God but that doesn’t mean we need to go to the places they go or do what they do.
When some of us were in the world and things we used to do or entertain had spirits attached to them and they attached themselves to us, just because you go to church doesn’t mean that you’re immune to them, so don’t put yourself in a situation when they can attach themselves to you again and bring along whatever other ones are attached to the people you’re around. As sister Helm mentioned in her blog about Paul saying hand over those who live double lives to the enemy so they are no longer among us, we need to think about those at church as well. If what some are proclaiming to be are Holy on service and prayer nights but living like the world the rest of the week that’s playing with their salvation and you don’t want to be dragged down with them. Old saying is guilty by association. Also too a like minded saint can do as much damage as going out and about with those in the world doing old things we have been delivered of.
“Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Be blessed and mindful of what and who you surround yourself with!

  20. “Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
    ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭5:6-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If we tolerate the “little” things it will soon lead to much more. So why would put ourselves on the edge of sin? Why would we allow things into our lives that begin to root sin in us?

When we walk in sincerity (purity) and truth we put up guardrails and place ourselves away from the edge of sin and onto a path of righteousness.

““Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  21. Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old “yeast” by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us. So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth.
    1 Corinthians 5:6‭-‬8 NLT

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
    Romans 6:1‭-‬2 KJV

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
    2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV

Jesus died to save us from our sins. The plan of salvation was crafted and executed to deliver us from both the bondage and the penalty of sin. We cannot honor Jesus’ sacrifice if we accept His salvation without changing our ways. The body of Christ should be without spot or blemish. If we tolerate the thought that grace gives us permission to continue in sin penalty free, then we pollute the message of the Gospel and show despite to the cross of Christ.

  22. iLove the Kingdom (while in the kingdom of possums)

5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Paul was not joking around. He delivered this feller up to satan for the destruction of the flesh. What does this tell us?

#1 Paul had the authority to do what he said he’d do.
#2 Paul understood that it was satan that would destroy the flesh.
#3 Paul did this as temporary judgement so the man might repent.

We must not play with sin because sin will destroy us

  23. THY KINGCOME COME
    A NEW LUMP

6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Leaven – 2219. zyme; ferment (as if boiling up): — leaven. From 2204:zeo; a primary verb; to be hot (boil, of liquids; or glow, of solids), i.e. (figuratively) be fervid (earnest): — be fervent.

Lump – 5445. phyrama; from a prolonged form of fu/rw phuro (to mix a liquid with a solid; perhaps akin to 5453 through the idea of swelling in bulk), mean to knead; a mass of dough: — lump.

We are a lump of dough in the hands of the chief chef JESUS. We are charged to rid ourselves of all old passions; anger, lust and the such that lead to sin and be A NEW LUMP that we may receive the WORD and SPIRIT of JESUS in our lives to become A NEW LUMP for JESUS.

The Corinthians were rebuked for glorying in or permitting and talking about the sins of others. We should Take The Limits Off and allow the WORD and SPIRIT of GOD to judge the sins of man, especially in HIS Church.

I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people. It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your responsibility to judge those inside the church who are sinning.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:9-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’d rather be in a church full of sinners…
I very recently heard someone make this comment. It is in reference to the heart of someone seeking for the lost. That should be our heart. We should not seek to hide from the evil around us, but like Jude we should seek to pluck people from the fire.

“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.”
    ‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Having the heart of Jesus is the only way we will see the soul of a person without the sin they carry and love them enough to pull them from the fire.

Jesus I pray you give all of PoFW a renewed burden for those around us and those we don’t know who are not yet in the kingdom of God.

  25. 1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.

2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you

5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Sounds like the person was not convicted of this sin nor repented of it because Paul resorts to delivering the person to Satan in order to get their attention to repent and turn away from it. How hard hearted do you have to be to get into this scenario, that the preaching and Holy Ghost moving don’t move you any more? And also the church itself sounds protective of this person and their sin, rather than setting them down and teaching or exhorting about the sin. We should watch and note when we know someone is living opening and sin and 1) let Pastor know because he watches for our souls and gives an account for us to God in judgement and 2) distance yourself from a close relationship with the person. We are not the judge and don’t judge them, we should be wise and not let their attitude become ours by just standing back a little while they get their life back on track. I don’t mean to abandon them, I mean step back and encourage them to get back on track.

  26. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

“1. An agent, such as yeast, that causes batter or dough to rise, especially by fermentation. 2. An element, influence, or agent that works subtly to lighten, enliven, or modify a whole.”

Leaven pictures sin. The departure of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt is symbolic of an individual leaving the slavery of a sinful life. Romans 6:17-18 explains: “But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”

Leaven pictures disobedience. The apostle Paul also referred to leavening when teaching the Galatians about obedience to God’s laws. There were those who distorted God’s grace into license to sin. Paul made the point that a small amount of misrepresentation of the truth can lead to large amounts of confusion and deceit.

Galatians 5:7-10 contains his warning: “You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump. I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is.”

It is up to us to examine our lives to ensure we are not compromising the Godly life Christ has for us with by covering up sin and disobedience. Let us make a conscious effort to cleanse ourselves from unrighteousness.

  27. MSG – 6-8 Your flip and callous arrogance in these things bothers me. You pass it off as a small thing, but it’s anything but that. Yeast, too, is a “small thing,” but it works its way through a whole batch of bread dough pretty fast. So get rid of this “yeast.” Our true identity is flat and plain, not puffed up with the wrong kind of ingredient. The Messiah, our Passover Lamb, has already been sacrificed for the Passover meal, and we are the Unraised Bread part of the Feast. So let’s live out our part in the Feast, not as raised bread swollen with the yeast of evil, but as flat bread—simple, genuine, unpretentious.

We see here the account of how sin inside the church walls can ruin an entire congregation if left to it’s own devices. However what if we flipped this? What if like the yeast that effects the entire batch of dough it is mixed with, the entire congregation was effected by the powerful moving of the Spirit of God, so much so that everyone calling themselves part of the POFW family would become ignited with the fire of the Spirit of God, and would choose Him FIRST in everything they do? What impact we would have on our families and this region of Fort Worth! We would experience by far the greatest season of harvest ever in this region. We can do it – all it takes is everyone unified in purpose and applying themselves spiritually.

  28. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

We all know that this week is Thanksgiving and there’s going to be some mighty good cooking this week, but take a minute and imagine with me…

As the chefs are in the kitchen preparing the food, the turkey is in the deep fryer becoming a masterpiece all it’s own, the smells of wonderful food is flooding the house. Now its time to eat, and when you arrive at your plate, there it is, the Thanksgiving plate of goodies…but the turkey was dry because they were too busy to take it out of the fryer, and the potatoes were crusty due to being too old, and the mac and cheese didn’t have cheese because they didn’t believe that it needed cheese.

Now it may seem silly, but apply it to what the Lord is saying in verse 8, God has truly blessed The POFW and WE have been called to ensure that we are offering a new every morning praise of thanks with sincerity and truth. Not a praise of dryness from the being too busy, or an old crusty worship, or a thanksgiving done halfhearted because we didn’t believe He deserves it all.

But rather offer Him your time, talent and treasure in thanksgiving! He truly does deserve it all!

  29. The term “snitching” in the church is considered like it is in the world. To tell on somebody for what bad thing they have done.

“I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5

We should tell those that are in sin. So that they can be corrected worth love and discipline. It’s not snitching. But a salvational concern. I want my brothers to be saved. So I’ll do what I have to.

  30. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Create in me a clean heart o God and renew a right Spirit Within Me cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy Holy Spirit from me restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit.

  31. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
Paul is speaking and rebuking with the authority of an apostle. He is firmly dealing with a sin that has been grossly mishandled. His swift judgement eventually works as intended for the guilty by bringing about his repentance. Paul also warns the church how just a little sin can spread and infect the whole body of believers. He is clearly showing why he is being so stern in the matter.

  32. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

In the operating room their are many steps taken to disinfect and sterilize the area for surgery. Any cross contamination can compromise the health and safety of the patient. The same is true for us today, if any sin infects us then it can fester and grow, much like cancers and diseases. An unrepentant soul can gain immunity, and become so numb that even the presence of God doesn’t move them. Jesus is coming back for a church without spot or blemish. If we obstinate from the leaven of this world then we will stay holy and acceptable in the sight of God. The mission is to end the race with Him saying, well done good and faithful servant.

  33. 6-8 Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast by removing this wicked person from among you. Then you will be like a fresh batch of dough made without yeast, which is what you really are. Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us. So let us celebrate the festival, not with the old bread of wickedness and evil, but with the new bread of sincerity and truth. (NLT)

Be careful what you tolerate. Every behavior we learn as humans is either taught or tolerated. Everything we do marks us and signifies to others the kind of person we are. Are we representing Christ well?

  34. “Your boasting about this is terrible. Don’t you realize that this sin is like a little yeast that spreads through the whole batch of dough?”(1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

The things we should be more boasting about is God and how good he has been to us. Allowing our flesh to let sin into our lives weakens us spiritually, like putting yeast into dough. Sin separates us from God. Repentance restores our relationship with God.

  35. 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

This Scripture is very eye opening. We must be so careful in who we allow in our lives, everyday. We are so app to let people into our lives, and that’s fine, however when those relations go bad what do we do? It’s hard to cut out something that has been a big part of your life, but what is more important? Your soul, or your friendships. We must be a light to those around us, and we must protect the Church Body as well. Thank you Jesus for His saving Grace, that we have an opportunity to get things right before His return.

  36. 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

  37. 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

You will become what you associate and assimilate with. It’s just not worth anything in this world to become more like it by gravitating to the things of it. Sin will destroy not only ourselves but also those who we hold so dear.
Keep fast to Jesus and become more like Him.

  38. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”
    I Corinthians 5:12‭-‬13 NKJV
    https://bible.com/bible/114/1co.5.12-13.NKJV

Sin cannot be over looked much less left untreated. Any matter of sin must be dealt with. God and is holy and we must know that he expects us to continue towards perfection and living holy separate lives.

  39. 6 Your glorying is not good.

  40. You must be careful who you associate yourself with. Not everyone is here for your good. This is why praying is important. Do not get caught up in the things of this world, but rather get caught up in Jesus.

  41. I
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

As we seek after the Kingdom of God, we need to know those that labor among us, and avoid the very appearance of evil. In doing that we keep from turning our spirits into a dumpster.

  42. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

For those who think that if you ask someone to leave the church you are being judgmental, here is the scripture. There has to be a level to respect for the house of God. You are given an opportunity to repent, but if you don’t then you must leave!

  43. “For what business is it of mine to judge outsiders (non-believers)? Do you not judge those who are within the church [to protect the church as the situation requires]? God alone sits in judgment on those who are outside [the faith]. R EMOVE THE WICKED ONE FROM AMONG YOU [expel him from your church].”
    ‭‭1 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭5:12-13‬ ‭AMP‬‬

There’s nothing watered down about what Paul is saying in this passage. We cannot wink at the sin in our brothers or sisters life. It could lead others to think it’s acceptable.

  44. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

    Ephesians 4:27
Neither give place to the devil.

We should not give glory to the devil. Just as we should not give glory to sin. We should not leave sin in to ruin our lives or walk with God. Instead we should remove it quickly and purge out sin. Which is why Jesus died for us, to save us from our sins. Not living in sin is essential to a holy life and walk with God.

  45. 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

  46. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

  47. Verses 6-8 CEV “Stop being proud! Don’t you know how a little yeast can spread through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast! Then you will be like fresh bread made without yeast, and that is what you are. Our Passover lamb is Christ, who has already been sacrificed. So don’t celebrate the festival by being evil and sinful, which is like serving bread made with yeast. Be pure and truthful and celebrate by using bread made without yeast.” Let’s be fresh, pure and truthful bread for Jesus.
