 1 Corinthians 12

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.

25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

  1. Verses 25-26 MSG “The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don’t, the parts we see and the parts we don’t. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance.” This is the way God designed it, a unified body (POFW) working together in all things.

  2. It is important to remember ‘For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.’ Regardless of our background, regardless of where we’ve come from, regardless of our familial heritage, God intends for his people to become one.

There should not be clicks and subgroups within the house of God. As we all strive to become more like him, we should naturally grow closer to one another. Just as surely as believe One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all, we should believe in the unity of the body that God is strengthening. Our actions should continue to build up one another and make room for the body to grow in Jesus name!

  3. 12. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

    14. For the body is not one member, but many.

If a body has one eye that wants to look forward and one eye that wants to look behind, or one foot that wants to go left and the other foot wants to go right, the whole body will be in confusion and won’t be able to go anywhere.
We need unity within all members of the body to move forward under one head to accomplish what God has called us to do.

  4. Each member of the church represents a part of the body, which is the bride of Christ. Each member fulfills a role that enriches the functioning of the church. This enrichment gives support to the church’s body and it reinforces the unity that is stressed by scripture.

  5. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

The greatest thing about the church and it’s makeup, everyone is not cut from the same cloth. We are many members but one body. If we were all alike in what we do then there would be areas that would most likely missed. We can be knowledgeable about all areas, but you can’t expect a brain surgeon to fix a car or vice versa. Just as it is concerning the gifts of the spirit and also the five fold ministry. We have the ability to be used in multiple areas within the church but we have to make ourselves available for God to use us. Keeping ourselves holy and acceptable to the Lord.

    I love the Kingdom!

  6. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. When we operate in the Spirit, it’s not us having the Faith, it’s not us speaking in tounge, it’s not us interpreting the tounge, if we prophesy it’s not by any talent we on our own, if we discern, speak wisdom, speak knowledge, do miracles, healing, None of that is us, it’s the Holy Ghost, when someone vegans to speak in diverse tounge, everything in the room is shut down, even the babies, it’s so quiet, and I beleive it’s our spirits bowing down to the King of Kings and we are quiet to hear him speak, and it stays quiet until the interpretation is compleat, I love it! God has spoken, and it is a privledge to hear his words and be counted amongst his people!

  7. 1 Corinthians 7-8 (Amp) But to each one is given the manifestation of the [ Holy ] Spirit , the evidence, the spiritual illumination of the Spirit] for good and profit. [8] To one is given in and through the [ Holy Spirit] the power to speak a message of wisdom, and to another the power to express a word of knowledge and understanding according to the same [ Holy Spirit]. It’s God power that inspires and energizes due the extraordinary power operating in our souls. There only one God, One baptism , And one Faith. To speak wisdom and the Word of knowledge. And a divine will and a purpose . Thank youJesus.

  8. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

This is why unity is important, and understanding what each role does for the body. I believe each person should set out on a journey to discover who God made them to be, when we discover how important our roles are in the church we become more effective as a body operating in our own gifts

  9. 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: And that no man can say that Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

  10. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member, but many.

  11. 29 Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles? 30 Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not! 31 So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.

Many of us will say, “I don’t know what my gift is”. No worries, God will lead you to your spiritual gift. The desire you have to serve in the Kingdom is letting you know where to serve whether to preach, teach, give advice, prayer, interpret, etc. Your willingness to serve God in some manner is what counts.

  12. “But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.””
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:18-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Thinking back to western day this here scriptures go hand in hand with one another. Everyone had a job that day. Everyone had a post that day. Everyone had a responsibility that day and everyone did their job right then the whole thing would be smooth. Sure enough it went well, it went smooth. The hands did the jobs as hands. The feet did the jobs as feet. The eyes did the jobs as eyes….same thing in the church house. We all got a job so no job is valued more important than the other because without one another we’ll fall. As a whole this is a partnership and we should all be after the same goal. Winning the Lost, helping the confused, and informing the next generation with gospel of Jesus Christ. To reach this world we have to do it together.

  13. “You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you’re still one body. It’s exactly the same with Christ. By means of his one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which he has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of his resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain—his Spirit—where we all come to drink. The old labels we once used to identify ourselves—labels like Jew or Greek, slave or free—are no longer useful. We need something larger, more comprehensive.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:12-13‬ ‭MSG‬‬

  14. Important. Yes You Are.
God has such a beautiful way of making sure everyone is fitted into the Kingdom of God .
He makes a place and gives out so much love in doing it. Each person important. So one may be louder than the other . One quiet and timid in the gifting God has placed in them. Pastor made a remark last night how people group together . A prime example of God’s ways of reaching this dying world that has been infected by the disease of sin. God has brought us the body of Christ through and from many things. We are to use the gift of knowledge from our own experiences to uplift and to challenge others that they too can find peace and be set free from what has kept them from living a victorious way of life. I must join in with someone who has had other experiences I’ve never had in order to reach to the next person. My experiences joined with theirs reaching someone who will then have experienced something else that will reach another. God made our physical bodies to work unified and now the spiritual body of Christ must work unified. We cannot build up the Kingdom of God with out unity. Where I lack in knowledge someone else will be able to assist. Yes fittly joined together one Spirit giving out many gifts. You are my brother you are my sister so take me by the hand together we must work until Jesus comes. I need you whether your the little toe or my right hand.

    Message version
14-18 I want you to think about how all this makes you more significant, not less. A body isn’t just a single part blown up into something huge. It’s all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together. If Foot said, “I’m not elegant like Hand, embellished with rings; I guess I don’t belong to this body,” would that make it so? If Ear said, “I’m not beautiful like Eye, limpid and expressive; I don’t deserve a place on the head,” would you want to remove it from the body? If the body was all eye, how could it hear? If all ear, how could it smell? As it is, we see that God has carefully placed each part of the body right where he wanted it.

We’ve all been specially called and placed by God. He sees the big picture, He knows what’s needed and where to send you or have you do. We just have to trust Him and do our part because if we don’t, the body can’t function. Stay in tune and keep serving God to keep the body in motion and about His work to reach this world!

  16. iLove the Kingdom
There is no doubt about it, Spiritual gifts are real and they are also dangerous as well. Alot of time people assume that just because God gave them a spiritual gift that He approves of them. This is not true. Paul is admonishing the Corinthian church and he addresses a church full of spiritual gifts but who are out of order. We can speak in tongues and even interpret tongues by the Spirit of God but that does not equal God’s approval on our lives. Think about it like this. You could drive a Pacer to work if you wanted to (by the way my mom use to own one :(). If you even make it to your destination consider it a miracle. Once you get there, you can say it did it’s job and took you from point A to B. That’s great, but it doesn’t mean you like the car, it just means it did it’s job. We are that vehicle. Just because God uses us does’t mean He has us on display of how to live the perfect holy life.

Many folks are filled with pride who are used in the gifts of prophecy and also the interpretation of tongues. Please remember, you might just be a Pacer and not an actual Lexus.

  17. 1 Corinthians 12:18 & 25-27 (voice)
    18) This is where God comes in. God has meticulously put this body together; He placed each part in the exact place to perform the exact function He wanted.

    25) That way there should be no division in the body; instead, all the parts mutually depend on and care for one another.
    26) If one part is suffering, then all the members suffer alongside it. If one member is honored, then all the members celebrate alongside it.
    27) You are the body of the Anointed, the Liberating King; each and everyone of you is a vital member.

God put each and everyone of us exactly where He wants us to be in the body, the church. We Are All Important!

  18. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

    One body. Many members.

The body is made up of many different parts, organs, and members. Each of these parts look differently, work differently, and accomplish different purposes. But the main goal of these parts is the same, to keep the body moving, working, and alive.

It’s the same way in the body of Christ. There is great diversity. For we all look differently, work differently and our talents and callings are different. But our main goal is the same: to make it to heaven and take as many people as we can with us.

Not only is this diversity in the body of Jesus Christ acceptable, it is essential. For the body needs many different gifts and abilities in order to work effectively as a body.

  19. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
    9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

I would not have made it this far if it weren’t for the miraculous power of Jesus Christ and for the love of my sisters and brothers in the church.
But also, we cannot go forth and advanced the Kingdom of God if we are not in unison working as ONE body. All the departments of POFW have helped my family in some way when I was being established. I AM A LIVING TESTIMONY OF THE UNIFIED EFFORTS OF THIS BODY OF CHRIST!!

  20. THY KINGDOM COME
    THE BODY

14 For the body is not one member, but many.
15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

GOD created man and thereby the human body. Meditation on this fact is amazing, fascinating and humbling. GOD created the physical body with members and systems. Likewise HE builds HIS church with members and systems. The body and the Church are most healthy when all members and systems work together in harmony as ONE.

If and when the physical body rejects a system or loses another member it places immediate hardship and dysfunction in the body. Likewise the church, if and when one of its members rejects a system or isolates itself from other members it causes hardship and dysfunction in the church.

The church is the body of Christ and therefore as members of a body, we do and follow what our head speaks to us. People amputate themselves from the body of Christ, the church when they refuse to participate in the functions of the church and the instructions of its leaders.

JESUS help us to seek wisdom with humility and examine ourselves to see if we are functioning members of the body of Christ or if we have amputated ourselves from the body or become infected by dysfunction or disobedience.

As JESUS builds us, HE will build HIS church.

  21. There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice ; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.
    1 Corinthians 12:4‭-‬10 NLT
Each of use has a special gift from God . God gives us those gift so we can do the work of the Lord . Some people have the attitude of the can do it better but God didn’t give the spiritual gift to have a competition with each other but he gave us the gift to help each other our gift means nothing if we are not doing use it for his kingdom , remember God gave us the spiritually gift for a reason they are all important and all have a purpose .don’t try to do something that God did not assembly you to do

  22. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

We are a team of different abilities, strengths and even weakness. God brought us together and knows how to utilize even the feeble and we are here to reach our city with the apostolic doctrine. Being one body, we do know when one member hurts – whether we know the cause or not – and we are to help and encourage one another as we sense the need or the Lord directs. As a body we are stronger together. Don’t get separated from the body of Christ where there is safety, protection, healings and miracles!
We had a Thanksgiving Day tragedy turned miracle through a simple prayer: My step children’s mother had a stroke and a large blood clot in her carotid artery. They drained blood from her brain. It sounded really bad. When we heard the news we prayed together, even while cooking dinner, and the next day we heard that the Dr had not expect her to live. Our daughter thanked us for prayer when she heard what the Dr’s opinion was. We give thanks because God stepped in and preserved life.
As members of the body of Christ we have many benefits for ourselves and for those around us. We pray simple prayers every day and yet God hears and answers them. I praise him for hearing us and being our loving Father.

  23. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

The mysteries of God are endless. He constantly amazes me and captivates me. Different gifts same spirit. Regardless of how He desires to use a person he makes it so easy for the spiritual mind to recongnize that that person is of the same mind; they have the same spirit. Which joins them in unity regardless of their difference.

If only we could get the world to see this same revelation we would have less hate and more love. This nation could be shaken and drawn back into the presence of God if we could all realize that our differences do not define us but our humanity unifies us.

A painted picture that is only one color lacks definition and dept but the greatest of artist realize color and definition is found in different colors, shades, and shadows.

So today let us desire the gifts but let us also desire to unify our lives with those around us by loving even in our differences. Respect each other even when it’s hard to because their difference may be the very part of the painting that brings beauty and priceless value.

  24. TLB – 4 Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving. 6 There are many ways in which God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work in and through all of us who are his. 7 The Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church.

Everyone who makes up the Church Body is important, and all have a role to play. We must operate in the gifting that God gave each us, and use them skillfully. What I can do others may not be able to and what others can do, I may not be able to, that is why God made each of individually, yet has joined all of us to make up His body.

Don’t covet a gift that another has, find your gift and use it for HIS glory. God gives to those according to their ability. If you take what you have and use, God may bestow other gifting upon you because you are a good steward with what you have been given. The worse thing we can do is hid our gift and not use it, or use it for our own edification. That was not the purpose intended. Use what God gives you, every gift is important.

  25. “But quite the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are [absolutely] necessary; and as for those parts of the body which we consider less honorable, these we treat with greater honor; and our less presentable parts are treated with greater modesty, while our more presentable parts do not require it. But God has combined the [whole] body, giving greater honor to that part which lacks it, so that there would be no division or discord in the body [that is, lack of adaptation of the parts to each other], but that the parts may have the same concern for one another.”
    ‭‭1 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭12:22-25‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This verse is another example of why unity is so important. We are One! God has put us together for His Kingdom. Let us encourage one another, prefer one another and most of all LOVE one another.

  26. I taught a lesson to my Sunday school last week about spiritual gifts/ jobs

I brought in my tool bag. And I had 4 students go into my tool bag and pull out any tool they like.

    One pulled out a drill
    One pulled out a hammer
One pulled out a pair of gloves.
And the last one pulled out a full charger.

I gave this example like this.
It doesn’t matter who or what you are. We all have gifts and jobs that God wants us to use. You could be a drill but could you do the job of a hammer? Yes eventually you’ll get it done. But your not talented in certain areas. That’s why we let the hammer do the hammering.

We all come together to make a church body. The church is not a physical building. But a united spirit from each and everyone of us. From each of us doing and using our gifts for the purpose of the kingdom of God.
So we all come together back into the tool bag (the church)

  27. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.

We must work together as one body in Christ. Each with our own gift

  28. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

We are all parts of the body of Christ. We must be prayed up and in unity for God to use us according to his will.

  29. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

    ……………

  30. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
    8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
    9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.

In banking there are many other departments that are revenue generation, from investments, to gas and oil, to the everyday teller, to the people on the phone. But it takes many people to make the bank profitable. Now in the church it takes many people to make it run and to make it up. Some have different opportunities than others, yet it doesn’t make one person better than another. For God so loved the World… it doesn’t say for God only loved so and so. We are all needed for the church and for the Kingdom of God to grow. I need you and you need me, and we need Jesus.

  31. …Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits…

By means of His one Spirit, we all said good-bye to our partial and piecemeal lives. We each used to independently call our own shots, but then we entered into a large and integrated life in which He has the final say in everything. (This is what we proclaimed in word and action when we were baptized.) Each of us is now a part of His resurrection body, refreshed and sustained at one fountain—His Spirit—where we all come to drink…

I want you to think about how all this makes you more significant, not less. A body isn’t just a single part blown up into something huge. It’s all the different-but-similar parts arranged and functioning together…

But I also want you to think about how this keeps your significance from getting blown up into self-importance. For no matter how significant you are, it is only because of what you are a part of…

Only as you accept your part of that body does your “part” mean anything…

But it’s obvious by now, isn’t it, that Christ’s church is a complete Body and not a gigantic, unidimensional Part?…
    1 Corinthians 12:4‭-‬24‭, ‬27‭-‬31 MSG

There are no “big I’s” and “little you’s” in the Kingdom of God. We were all allowed into His body by grace, and we all have our necessary parts to perform. Only as we function in our place in the body, do we have significance. However, our place makes us important and dependant at the same time. We can only do our part because others have done theirs. It is foolish to exalt ourselves when we are what we are by the grace of God and the work of others.

In addition, the body functions best when we all perform our part and allow others to perform theirs. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed (having been a part of numerous churches during our 27 years of military travel) that it is common in churches for 20% of the people to do 80% of the work. Quite often, though, the 20% are frustrated because they are attempting to operate outside their appointed gifts, while the 80% do not feel a part because they are not using their gifts at all. While it is easier to trust the 20% to get the job done, the whole body generally suffers because of it. If this continues, the 20% can become weary, operating out of guilt, and developing bitterness because of it.

I’ve heard many of the 20% complain over the years that they felt they would be condemned by other leaders if they tried to cut back on what they were being asked to do in order to fulfill their responsibilities to their families. They often get so focused on what they feel others are requiring of them, that they lose focus on the part of the body that God has called them to. The work becomes an obligation and not a joy that is done unto the Lord. They lose the joy of their salvation because they wear themselves out trying to work outside their calling, doing everyman’s work instead of just their own. While God calls us all to do some things, Paul says in this chapter that no man is called to do everything. We must operate together as one body of believers where the load is shared among every member. (The woe of many pastors, however, is figuring out how to actually get the other 80% to do their part.)

  32. I Love To Worship The Lord
    vs-27
All of you together are the one body of Christ and each one of you is a separate and and necessary part of it
I really liked this chapter the Pentecostals Of Fort Worth is a great example of all its members working doing different Jobs working together. any thing from scrubing tolets to being in Leader ship, WOW this church is such a great example of vs-27
WOW this reflex on our GREAT PASTOR AND THE FIRST LADY
ALWAYS REMBER WHEN YOUR FEET STINK YOUR NOSE RUNS

  33. This chapter screams to me of diversity! Diverse gifts, operations, ministries and administrations. Diverse members, purposes and functions of the body. Yet it is the same Spirit that operates, calls, and baptizes. The common thread among all this diversity is the Holy Spirit of God that unites. Don’t let your differences divide but compliment one another. You weren’t called to have the same ministry or gifting as your brother or sister so don’t try to copy it or even envy it. God has a place for every member, their gifting, their ministry and He designed it as it pleased Him! When you do what He created you to do, you glorify Him!

  34. Josiah: 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

There are many roles in a church but one purpose. To stay saved and grow in the Word and grow spiritually as we reach this lost world. Adminstration of a Church differs from Church to Church, but God’s Word stays the same through the ages. God is not a respector of persons(Romans 2:11) and neither should we (Proverbs 28:21). We should remember that God has set people to do different roles, but we are all children of God seeking eternal life and working together. God judges our hearts and our actions based off of the Word and Jesus is the head and we are all part of the body of Christ and each a necessary part. So, let us each GO HUMBLY as we labour in the Kingdom of God and not be a respector of persons and prideful, preferring one brother over the next, but let us ALL GO LABOUR IN UNITY DOING THE WILL OF GOD!

  35. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

We can not look down on the less developed of the body. God has given to us all GIFTS, for the edification of the body.

No member of the body should counted as a lesser. Because we are all important. We may struggle and face difficulty at different levels but we call need each other.

As Jesus dies for us all, not for some.

  36. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

The body is composed of many members. Just like a loaf of bread is composed of different ingredients. All are important for the healthy functioning of the body. It is important to seek and pray and defend the unity of the church body.

  37. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.

  38. 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

I am thankful for all the diverse gifts of the body of Christ. It is difficult to chew without teeth. Try walking without feet. The point is to be complete it is going to take all of us from the head Jesus Christ to the mouth our Pastor down to the pinky fingers and toes. We need one another to do what God has called the church to do. Thankful for the whole church body.

  39. Gifts well … There wasnt a war when i was living in the World and giving in to sin . God had to break me to show me why he created me . I want to be used by God in my mind and heart .. But theres war with sin . i like to give out advice and encourage others for Christ

  40. 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

This is an area where most people are very ignorant. There are so mamy questions that even o have .

  41. 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

What is interesting is that every person may desire a different gift then the person next to them. And a different gifts may be best for different people. May I desire the best gifts, that God could use through me.

  42. I Corinthians 12:4-6 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities, but it is the same God who works all in all .

Good teams use every gift and enjoy both unity and diversity. The team possesses a variety of gifts or positions, but pursue the same goal and God. Everyone has a contribution to make.Gos is the source of each gift, so He deserves the glory.

    There is one body,and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

  43. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

Unity!!! This is what helps build each other up. Taking care of each other, despite the need or circumstance. The Lord joined us all together because we need each other. The heart and the skin are 2 very different organs that are very important. If one stops working it affects the whole body. Just how we take care of our bodies (showering, lotion, eating what we should eat, exercise, sleep, vitamins, etc.) we also need to lift one another in the Lord. We need to make sure our brethren is eating spiritually, praying, coming to church, being active, etc.

  44. 1 Corinthians 12:4,7
    4) Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit
    7) But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

  45. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

There are lots of gifts of the Spirit. God gifts us with different ones and we are blessed to have and use them. They might be different but they all come from God which works in and through us!
