2 Corinthians 11

Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?

I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.

10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.

12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

16 I say again, let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.

17 That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

18 Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

19 For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.

20 For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

21 I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.

22 Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?

30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

32 In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me:

33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

  1. 12But I will continue doing what I have always done. This will undercut those who are looking for an opportunity to boast that their work is just like ours. 13These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. 14But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

    We as Christians need to be aware of the devices of our enemy. There going to be many that will come in the name of Jesus, but will only be wolves in sheep’s clothing. We must not allow our spirits the opportunity to weaken because we are not praying or not reading the word of god. We have to be mindful of this world. We are living in a generation that is trying to destroy the church by watering down the gospel and trying to sell it as truth. If we keep the word hid in our heart there is no way we will be fooled by the lies.

    The word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword. We have keep our weapon at the ready.

    I love the Kingdom!

  2. The Lord inspired Paul to make us aware of how the simple message of the gospel can easily be used to create false doctrines. We must be vigilant to discern the Spirit of truth, and develop an understanding of what we believe to thwart deception.

  3. 24. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

    25. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

    26. In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

    27. In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

    I believe we will be hard pressed to find excuses on Judgment Day as to why we couldn’t live for Him when those who have gone on before us persevered through what they did, looking for no excuses.

  4. We must be alert of all the things that can and will come against us to deceive or try to lead us astray from the things of God. We must stay firm, planted and ready to help those around us that may not be as ready. Verses 28-29 ERV says “And there are many other problems. One of these is the care I have for all the churches. I worry about each group of believers every day. I feel weak every time another person is weak. I feel deeply upset every time another person is led into sin.” We are one body and we must help, pray for and lift up our brothers and sisters in Christ.

  5. ‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:23-28‬ ‭
    “Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 6. But now I fear that you will be tricked, just as Eve was tricked by that lying snake. I am afraid that you might stop thinking about Christ in an honest and sincere way. We told you about Jesus, and you received the Holy Spirit and accepted our message. But you let some people tell you about another Jesus. Now you are ready to receive another spirit and accept a different message.
    2 Corinthians 11:3‭-‬4

    How can one be deceived by satan? Lack of prayer and being filled daily with the Holy Ghost , and a lack of reading the word of GOD!! Our mind is consumed with what we see daily. I strongly believe that the world wants us to tolerate and have ‘acceptance’ for false beliefs. This is the time that has a church we need to stand firm on the word of God and not waiver in faith. Allow your roots to grow deeper and do not stand on any other foundation but His KINGDOM only!

    Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.
    Romans 12:2 CEV

  7. 2 Corinthians 12:28 ( Amp) And besides those things that are without, there is the daily inescapable pressure, of my care and anxiety for all the churches! Who is weak, and I do not [ his] weakness? Who made to stumble and fall and have his faith hurt, and I am not on fire ( with sorrow or indignation ? I cry out to God when someone is hurting or weak , I feel there pain. Go into war prayer for them. Brothers and Sisters pray for them and lift them up. ” Not today Devil get behind the ” I curse you in The name of Jesus !

  8. 23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
    24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
    25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

    Paul suffered greatly just for the word of God to be established everywhere he went. Due to many of his suffering the charges are able to receive the word of God and have revivals. because he value the word of God and the presence of God over the comfort of his own flesh. Don’t make me wonder if I have the dedication to his word and if I am like to suffer just to bring the word of God to other people?

  9. 11:2 For I am jelous over you with godly jealousy: for I have
    Espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as chaste virgin of Christ.
    ——-
    Pure! A pure, Holy body of Christ. Walking in righteousness….

  10. iLove the Kingdom
    3But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. 4You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

    The above mentioned scripture gives us the same scenario as Prophet Guy gave us. Prophet preached that we should not entertain those who speak against the man of God and the Church of God. Verse 4 Paul says, “you happily put up with whatever anyone tells you”. Well folks, POFW does not have to happily put up with folks speaking their “own” words against the house of God.

  11. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

    4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

    5 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.
    We are in the Last days, there will or may be a time when someone will come and try to convince us that what we believe is not truth. but their Doctrin is the truth! Which truth will I believe?
    Ephesians 4:14
    That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive

    there is only one God, One name that can save us, deliver us! He alone is truth! The God we serve has a name, his name is Jesus, he has a prick in his side, wounds on his feet, and hands, if I pray and read his word, I will know his voice! My spirit will respond to him! but I have to be in tune with the holy Ghost! thank you Lord for who you are in my life!

    What kind of peril do I face to bring the word to the others. Well there are the mockers, the one that ridicule, and the ones that will try to feed you with they’re version of God’s truth. I have to be very mindful of whom to trust with teaching me the word. I face perils of this world daily. I know that I have to walk after the faith and not after the world. It’s easy to get caught up in worldly matters when listening to people that are of the world. That is where I truly have to trust in the word and be of the Kingdom. Thank you Jesus for those that you have before me to know Your truth.

  13. 30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

    All glory belong to God. He has given us gifts and talents to shine for Him. In our weakness His strength shows up. So to be honest, we cannot boast in ourselves because it’s all because of Him. So today I will glorify God in all things because He is good!

  14. I Love To Worship The Lord
    Pauls deep concern for the Corinthians now moves him to do what he has just shown to be foolish boast and present his own credentials. Paul hasent taken taken money from them. Those who try to undermine his ministry are false Apostles.

  15. 3 But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.
    4 You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. (NLT)

    At first I thought of what Bro. Guy shared with us about spiritual abortion, but then I realized Paul is referring to a self-inflicted corruption. We have to be careful what we tolerate and be sure we are well built up in faith and Word ourselves. True, we are to go out and reach the lost, or those of unlike faith, but be cautious of those you keep in company and what they speak. We must use the Word of God to filter our minds and to show them the light of truth!

  16. 23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

    24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

    25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

    26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

    27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

    In our world today we are isolated from many of the difficulties Paul faced. Paul at any time could have decided it was too much and turned around. But he didn’t want to. He wanted to serve Jesus, and if these hardships were part of serving Jesus, he would accept them.

    Many of us today would have given in a long time ago if we had to face what Paul did. But God has not asked us to walk through those same trials, our hardships have been much lighter. So if Paul could do it, what’s our excuse?

  17. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    COMMITTMENT

    24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
    25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
    26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
    27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
    28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

    As we witness from the apostle; Ministry is not all about fried chicken and Sunday dinners. Ministry is involvement and engagement with the lost and the adversary.

    There are wonderful seasons of favor and there are wonderful seasons of peril. The question we must all answer is; “How strong is our COMMITMENT”?

    As we read through the testimony of the apostle here, we understand that he is not making a doctrine of his perils and making requirement for them to go through the same. However, Paul testifies of the grace of GOD that kept him through all of these hardships and we should be encouraged as well. JESUS may or may not lead us through perils similar to those listed by the apostle. The most important factor in The KINGDOM of GOD is this; How deep is my COMMITMENT?

    Would we go through these hardships for the Gospel of JESUS to be shared? Lets make ourselves available for The Kingdom of GOD.

  18. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 & 13 (nlt)
    3) But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.
    4) You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.

    13) These people are false prophets. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ.

    There are so many false prophets, false teachers, and deceitful workers in the world today leading people astray.
    This is why Pastor teaches and encourages us to READ the Word, STUDY the Word, and KNOW the Word. So that we will KNOW the Truth, and we will not be deceived by these false people.

  19. 2 Corinthians 11 The Message (MSG)

    Pseudo-Servants of God
    11 1-3 Will you put up with a little foolish aside from me? Please, just for a moment. The thing that has me so upset is that I care about you so much—this is the passion of God burning inside me! I promised your hand in marriage to Christ, presented you as a pure virgin to her husband. And now I’m afraid that exactly as the Snake seduced Eve with his smooth patter, you are being lured away from the simple purity of your love for Christ.

    28-29 And that’s not the half of it, when you throw in the daily pressures and anxieties of all the churches. When someone gets to the end of his rope, I feel the desperation in my bones. When someone is duped into sin, an angry fire burns in my gut.

    Heart Cry For Souls/ Intercession

  20. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
    4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

    Don’t be deceived by false teachings.

  21. I AM PERSUADED

    It does not matter what goes on around. How my family and friends think. I’m persuaded that I will serve the Lord.
    All these other people will serve a false doctrine. But I AM PERSUADED to preach acts 2:38 the word may try to bring you down. But I AM PERSUADED

    “But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:3-4‬ ‭NLT

    “Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    When your persuaded you can go through trials and situations like this. And still come out standing on two feet. Paul has to be persuaded on serving. Having enough faith to go through these things. Enough ambitions to keep going and fighting in this gospel.

    I AM PERSUADED

    #RevivalTime

  22. 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

    27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

    It is evident by Paul’s writings that he suffered many perils during his journey. However, we can also tell that he loved what he did.

    We must love what we do and how we live. We must fall in love with Jesus daily and in doing so our greatest desire will be to please Him and do the work of His Kingdom. At that point, nothing we go through will change our course. Our face will be set like a flint and we will accomplish the task that has been set before us.

  23. One Love

    2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

    Who is your first Love? As a man who has grown up in this great Gospel, I can say that it should be God. However I have not always felt that, or shown that. But this is the right answer. Our first love should be with God, then our Spouses ‘if married,’ or the work of the Kingdom ‘if single,’ then all these other things will fall into line. We must stay vigilant to the whiles of the enemy, and stay focused on the Kingdom at Hand. This coming year at NAYC2019 the theme is Kingdom Come. HMMMM…Has the Kingdom influence become our top priority in life? Has our first LOVE to God become number ONE? Who is your ONE LOVE

  24. 28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

    Paul suffered in the body for being an apostle and evangelist as well as the internal burden for the churches he established and ministered to. He rightfully boasted of his love and concern for the saints of God warning them not to be deceived by anyone teaching another doctrine other than what they had been taught of him. We must not follow anything but the word of God and the man of God placed in our lives to lead us in following God. Search the word, read the word and put it in your heart. No one can take from you what you have dug out of the word of God for yourself.

  25. “And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:12-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    We have to be careful of what we let ourselves get blinded to. A lot of the time people think of satan as ugly things and bad situations and the one in the stormy part of your life, but him being a fallen angel is still beautiful and can show up in just the right time as something great and positive only to be a distraction and try to pull your attention and focus away from the purpose or path God has set for you. Pray for God’s guidance and spiritual discernment to see the truth.

  26. 29 When someone gets to the end of his rope, I feel the desperation in my bones. When someone is duped into sin, an angry fire burns in my gut.

    My parents are recent victims of money scandal and lost a significant amount of money to these crooks. They were duped by smooth talkers with promises of riches and an easier life style. Those of us in our right minds know better than to fall for these tricks but those who are at the end of their rope and grasping for normalcy and security will latch onto anything that appears to be good.

    This could never happen to me – most of us might proclaim. However, we all sin and fall short of His glory. If this is the case; how do we sin? Do we sin willfully or are we duped into sin? There is a vast difference between the two. I know that sin is sin, but willful disobedience is different than being ignorant of the devil’s ways.

    Mathew 26-31 If we give up and turn our backs on all we’ve learned, all we’ve been given, all the truth we now know, we repudiate Christ’s sacrifice and are left on our own to face the Judgment—and a mighty fierce judgment it will be! If the penalty for breaking the law of Moses is physical death, what do you think will happen if you turn on God’s Son, spit on the sacrifice that made you whole, and insult this most gracious Spirit? This is no light matter. God has warned us that he’ll hold us to account and make us pay. He was quite explicit: “Vengeance is mine, and I won’t overlook a thing” and “God will judge his people.” Nobody’s getting by with anything, believe me.

  27. 30 If I must boast, I would rather boast about the things that show how weak I am.

    What are we talking about?
    Are we talking about all the great things we have done?
    Or are we talking about how when I was weak, He was strong! When I couldn’t tell which direction to go, He lead me down the right path?

    Don’t take for granted the grace and mercy of God, He will use our short comings to bring the Kingdom FIRST in our lives.

  28. But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. But I don’t consider myself inferior in any way to these “super apostles” who teach such things.

    These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve.
    2 Corinthians 11:3‭-‬5‭, ‬13‭-‬15 NLT

    The enemy is not content to leave us be once we have received the truth. There is a constant attempt to whittle away and pervert the Gospel we have learned and loved. This is why we must have a relationship with the Word of God for ourselves.

    Learned men, “super-apostles,” who appear righteous by doing good works and deeds, fill the airwaves of our nation with charismatic voices proclaiming partial truths and deceiving many. We cannot allow their big promises, eloquent arguments, and many followers to dissuade us from following the whole truth of the Word. We must be careful when listening to their programs and reading their books that we do not allow “revelations” in one area of the Word to convince us that they have truth in every area. (A tiny bit of poison ingested with a huge meal of healthy food will still kill you.)

    Moreover, we cannot judge a person’s message by their motives, intentions, or sincerity. It is possible to be sincerely wrong. We must judge their word by His Word. If their words encourage unrighteousness (confession without repentance and obedience), they are deceiving people. If they negate the necessity of being born again (baptized) of water and Spirit, then they are deceiving people.
    If they baptize in any way other than in Jesus name (as the apostles did in the Bible), then they have perverted the truth. If their words insinuate a multiplicity of heavenly personages who are individually or collectively called God, they have denied the foundational truth of the whole Bible:

    Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord :
    Deuteronomy 6:4 KJV

    I am the Lord , and there is none else, there is no God beside me…
    Isaiah 45:5a KJV

    … there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
    Isaiah 45:21‭b-‬22 KJV

    Paul said above, ”I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted.” That fear is more valid today than ever before. There are many falsely-proclaimed “truths” to choose from, and all supposedly lead to the same God. We must, therefore, guard our hearts with all diligence and reject any teaching that does not line up with the whole-counsel of God. We can’t do this by taking another man’s word for it; we must read and study it for ourselves.

  29. 23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.
    24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
    25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
    26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

    Flesh brings out so much pride, seems like it’s just a natural thing to be prideful these days……..he went through all of that and I can’t wrap my mind around that…….but we tend to get offended over nothing compared to his sufferings…..how did we become better than him that we think we should have the privilege to be offended. When did humanity become so entitled………we see it as being blessed here in the United States of America but could it be that we are spoiled much???

  30. “To my shame, I must say, we have been too weak [in comparison to those pseudo-apostles who take advantage of you]. But in whatever anyone else dares to boast–I am speaking foolishly–I also dare to boast. Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I. Are they [self-proclaimed] servants of Christ?–I am speaking as if I were out of my mind–I am more so [for I exceed them]; with far more labors, with far more imprisonments, beaten times without number, and often in danger of death. Five times I received from the Jews thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift on the sea; many times on journeys, [exposed to] danger from rivers, danger from bandits, danger from my own countrymen, danger from the Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger on the sea, danger among those posing as believers; in labor and hardship, often unable to sleep, in hunger and thirst, often [driven to] fasting [for lack of food], in cold and exposure [without adequate clothing]. Besides those external things, there is the daily [inescapable] pressure of my concern for all the churches.”

    -‭‭2 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭11:21-28‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    Jesus never said doing his will would be easy. There will be times where we’ll have trials like the ones listed in this scripture and we’ll still have to minister to the lost and put their needs before ours. Yet, in the middle of the storm, God will give us peace, strength, and joy. We are not alone no matter what we’re going through. Jesus is on our side and we can overcome all things through Him!

  31. A pure way . searching for him everywhere you go . the enemy has a plan but not for a heart like this . I love you Lord
    Irepent
    Iseek
    Isubmit
    Iwork
    Igo

  32. Paul’s burden is the same as any apostle our oversear of the church today. ‘I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.’

    This is why revelation is so important! If you’ve only been convinced intellectually, there is always someone smarter and perhaps smoother in speech that can more eloquently explain their point of view. Once God reveals a truth however, there is no amount of convincing that will be capable of removing it from our grasp. Our spiritual foundation needs to rest in the simplicity which is in Christ!

    We are encouraged to buy the truth and sell it not. Truth is obviously not something you can purchase, so the deeper revelation is in the exertion you spend seeking the truth from God. He rewards those that diligently seek, that continue knocking, that refuse to give up, and when that reward is in our hands we need to make the most of it for his purpose in our life! When revelation of the truth is granted, let it shine! That light brought us and it will continue to draw others seeking a deeper revelation and walk with God!

  33. The Corinthian church is marked by splits and rival factions, with each false apostle (vs 13) competing for pre-eminence. These false teachers say Paul’s teaching is worth nothing to the Corinthians because they have paid nothing for it. Paul preached to them “free of charge” (vs 7). In that day they would pay a teacher based on the value of their teaching. Paul affirms his love for the Corinthians (vs 11), which he demonstrated by his willingness to not be a financial burden. For Paul it’s not about the money. He is motivated and dedicated the work for Jesus, which he enumerate his own experiences (vs 21-33). It may seem foolish but it is also necessary to mention here in order to refute these self-inflated deceivers in the Corinthian church.

  34. Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again. Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not. I have worked hard and long, enduring many sleepless nights. I have been hungry and thirsty and have often gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm. Then, besides all this, I have the daily burden of my concern for all the churches.
    2 Corinthians 11:23‭-‬28 NLT

    What a resume! There is no doubt Paul paid a great price for his anointing and ministry. He was gifted the office of an apostle but he grew in maturity through the things which he suffered. This reminds me of the man who asked God for an anointing like a minister who was greatly used of God. The Lord eventually replied to the request saying that if I were to give you his anointing it would kill you because you are not able to bear it. God knows what we can handle. We must continue to strive for more of Him in our lives but learn to be content with the ministry He has given us. The man in the story learned to never ask again for another man’s ministry.

  36. ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

    2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

    6 But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

  37. Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! Sometimes as Christians we get a flase sense of entitlement. As if all it’s supposed to be blessing comfort and luxury and all is wonderful. Yet the truth is that those things are not what it’s about. But rather about carrying your cross and following after Christ. Yes there are blessings and principles that we reap from. But Gods greatest desire is that we know Him, that we become like him and that we please Him. In our sufferings and in our victories we must know Him.

  38. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.
    25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
    26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
    27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
    Paul suffered many things for the Gospel ‘s sake. No matter what we may go through we should always remember our purpose and share the Gospel to this world. So, let us GO BE A LIGHT IN JESUS NAME!

  39. “If I must boast, I would rather boast about the things that show how weak I am.”(2 Corinthians‬ ‭11:30‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

    As long as I am alive and well and have the breath of my God within me then his name I will stand in victory. If I must boast I’ll boast about the things that give the glory and praise to my God. When I am weak he is strong. For He who is within me is stronger than he who is in the world.

  40. I learned that Paul was beat with a rod three times ship wrecked three times lashes 39 times and float at the sea for one night stoned once and slapped in the face

  41. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
    14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

    So many people out there call themselves Christians, but so few can produce fruit. We must be aware and very prayerful about who we are around and who we listen too, because there are many imposters, posing as men of God. We must judge their fruit.

    2 Corinthians 11:3‭-‬4 NLT

    Jesus, I pray God that our minds would be on You with laser focus. That nothing can pull us away. That the enemies back would be broken before it ever approached us. In Jesus name. Amen.

  43. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. Amen

  44. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

    We hear the Word at church but are listening. A man of God can say anything while preaching but it’s up to you to ensure it’s correct. You have to read and study the Bible so you won’t be led astray.

  45. 8 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

    Money is on the New testament too. Here even Paul need wages to do his missionary work. Just like we supply our missionaries with funds. So that, like as Paul they will not be a burden on those new works and churches.
    Also interesting here is probably where the saying rose of robbing Peter to pay Paul. As Paul considered it robbing those churches, by taking pay and working elsewhere..
