Ephesians 2

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

  1. Verses 19-22 MSG “That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.” Same verses NLT “So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.” This reminds me of the old Sunday School Song “Building up the Temple”:

    Building up the temple
    Building up the temple
    We’re building up the temple of the Lord
    Brother come and help me
    Sister come and help me
    We’re building up the temple of the Lord

  2. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

    5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

    It is a voluntary exercise of love for which He is under no obligation. What constituted the glory of grace is that it is an utterly unfettered ,unconstrained exercise of the love of God toward poor sinners.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  3. But God was merciful! We were dead because of our sins, but God loved us so much he made us alive with Christ, and God’s gift of undeserved grace is what saves you. God raised us from death to life with Christ Jesus, and he has given us a place beside Christ in heaven. God did this so in the future world he could show how truly good and kind he is to us because of what Christ Jesus has done. You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.
    Ephesians 2:4‭-‬8 CEV

    ‘Jesus i will never forget what you’ve done for me!’

    ‘Jesus i will never forget how you set me free!’

    ‘Jesus i will never forget, NO…never!’

    All gloey to you JESUS ❤❤❤❤

  4. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    UNIFIED

    6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

    Unity begins with our alignment with JESUS by obedience to HIS WORD. This is why the seeking part of our investment is so important to our Kingdom relationship. The result of The Kingdom of GOD is UNITY.

    The more we are willing to allow our will to die so that the will of GOD can live we are UNIFIED with GOD through HIS own Kingdom. The fruit of oneness with GOD is the church becoming UNIFIED with one another. Once we are willing to submit our selves to HIS will and protect the UNITY of the church then we are positioned to be raised up to sit together in heavenly places in Christ JESUS.

    HEAVENLY PLACES – 2032. epouranios; above the sky: — celestial, (in) heaven(-ly), high.

    UNITY not only brings us together with each other, it also brings us together with our savior Christ JESUS and empowers us to accomplish HIS will as we sit with HIM at HIS table of planning and preparation.

    Lets choose to sit with HIM.

  5. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
    11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

    The first scripture is used frequently to argue not having to do anything for salvation and living however you want to, but if you look 2 verses later it clearly states that we are created to do good works. That’s our purpose in life is to be apart of the body of Christ performing his good works for his kingdom. It is our honor and privilege to be able to do so. It’s a cross we get to carry everyday and bear for the Lord.

  6. 8-9. For it’s by God’s grace that you have been saved. You receive it through faith. It was not our plan or our effort. It is God’s gift, pure and simple. You didn’t earn it, not one of us did, so don’t go around bragging that you must have done something amazing.

    12. You had absolutely no connection to the Anointed; you were strangers, separated from God’s people. You were aliens to the covenant they had with God; you were hopelessly stranded without God in a fractured world.

    13. But now, because of Jesus the Anointed and His sacrifice, all of that has changed. God gathered you who were so far away and brought you near to Him by the royal blood of the Anointed, our Liberating King. Voice

    We are not part of God’s Kingdom because we earned it; we are here because He showed us mercy and grace and drew us to Him out of the darkness.

    John 6:
    44. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

    65. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. KJV

    I’m in this Church
    This glorious Church
    I didn’t join, no I was born
    I’ve had a new birth
    Some glorious day
    Gonna sail away
    It’s by His grace
    Not by my works
    I’m in this Church

  7. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    If it wasn’t for a His grace I don’t know where a lot of us would be, especially myself. We are saved through faith. His grace is a precious gift and some take that for granted. Lord let me never forget what grace you have shown me and let me not take it for granted!

  8. Ephesians 2
    9 Now you who are not Jewish are not foreigners or strangers any longer, but are citizens together with God’s holy people. You belong to God’s family. 20 You are like a building that was built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus himself is the most important stone[c] in that building, 21 and that whole building is joined together in Christ. He makes it grow and become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in Christ you, too, are being built together with the Jews into a place where God lives through the Spirit

    When we are joined with someone the golds the focus is the same. God’s people joined together working with one another. Together reflects the love that God has ended from beginning of time . A unified effort. If we the church realize the realize that nothing is about our own self but about the entire body of Christ. It cannot just be about me but it must be about we. Members fittly joined together working towards the same thing . Christ in us working to build up the temple.

    Romans 12:18. Doing our best to live in peace with everyone.
    There are no cliques nor big I or little you. Each of us came through the same door just different walks of life but it is through His redemption that brings us together as a family joined together. Everyone a part of the body.

  9. AMP – 2 And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you once walked. You were following the ways of this world [influenced by this present age], in accordance with the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient [the unbelieving, who fight against the purposes of God].

    We see here the parallel of the old man – influenced by this world, and the new man, spiritually made alive by His Spirit and His name. It’s evident by this scripture that there are two spirits – God’s Spirit making us alive, or the spirit of the world influencing us to be disobedient, and work against the PURPOSE of God. This should cause us to evaluate ourselves everyday to see which spirit is ruling us. Are we aligning ourselves each day with His Spirit? Praying, reading the word, listening to His voice? Or are we being ruled by carnality, our flesh, the spirit of the world?

    One is working for the Purpose of God and the other is working against. What are my actions telling God?

  10. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

    I cant take credit for the things God has delivered me from! Alot of times I catch myself saying THING LIKE ” IVE COME SO FAR” My correct statement should be ” Look how far God has brought me! ” If it wasn’t for his Grace and mercy I would be lost! Thank you Jesus!

  11. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    God is saying that we ourselfves should and won’t brag about something that somebody doesn’t have. Thank you jesus.

  12. We are his children. We were bought with a price. The challenge is to get Armand out of the world. When we become kingdom minded then we no longer have the desires and the thoughts of this world.

  13. 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
    7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

    Just like heaven on earth! God is raising us up at POFW, He’s showing us His grace and kindness by His Kingdom coming, He’s showing us us His love by salvation of souls. His Kingdom coming is just like heaven on earth – Wow!

  14. Ephesians 2:3-4 ( Among these we as well as you once lived and conducted ourselves in the passions of our flesh [ our behavior governed by our corrupt and sensual nature]. Obeying the impulses of the flesh and the thoughts of the mind [ our cravings dictated by our senses and our dark imaginings]. We were then by nature children of God’s wrath and heirs of [ His] indignation, like the rest of mankind. [4] But God so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved. If it wasn’t for Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, we will still be in darkness and lost. Thanks to Lord Jesus for his delieverance, His spirit, His love , and mercy. Now we are partakers of Christ’s salvation. We don’t need anything but God. Wake up and pray for Ft. Worth.

  15. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    These are one of the many scriptures that are often quoted but they always seem to avoid verse 10!!!! For since we are created in Christ Jesus unto good works and ordained to walk in them; it obviously means we should have GOOD WORKS EVIDENT IN OUR LIVES!!!! We serve a GOOD GOD!!!

  16. Eph. 2:8 (amp)
    “For it is by grace (God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ) that you have been saved (actually delivered from judgement and given eternal life) through faith. And this (salvation) is not of yourself (not through your own effort), but it is the (undeserved, gracious) gift of God.”

    Most people, when they think about Christmas, will think about the “gifts” they will receive.
    But let us, this Christmas, think about the greatest “gift” of all, the Gift Of Salvation.

  17. 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
    7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

    What joy in the Lord we have to look forward to! Not only can we partake of the moving of his Spirit here, sitting in heavenly places, but we also have the ages to come to sit at his feet, hear of his great mercy and grace and be in his marvelous presence.

  18. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    Many people think just because people do “good things” they automatically have salvation. This goes back on how we’re made righteous when we have a relationship with God. Because of Gods Grace is the reason why we’re able to have His salvation. We have to live according to His will. We can’t live, talk how we used to but now because of His grace and where He brought us from is when and why we should joyfully praise Him. We must have joy and thanksgiving because of His grace. Without it we would have no hope! Just being able to breathe is a victory becaus the devil so wishes to have us dead and destroyed but yet here I AM💥 Thank you Jesus!!!

  19. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

    The greatest assurance that we have as a child of God is to know that he is our peace. The greatest battle that the Christian battles is within their own minds. It’s because they can not grasp the concept of the peace that Jesus gives us. So many are worried about these earthly accomplishments. We have to be willing to not put our faith and trust in the things of earthly men.

    Philippians 4 states:
    4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

    To rejoice and let your moderation be known to all men while giving thanks in prayer and supplication, but the best part of that is God will peace that passes all understanding that will keep our hearts and minds through this journey with Jesus. Praise God, First the kingdom and we will reign for all eternity with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

    I love the Kingdom!

  20. iLove the Kingdom
    2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience

    Just yesterday I heard on the news how a deputy lost his mind and killed his family then himself…the depth of this verse reveals that the enemy works in the children of disobedience. What does that mean? Well, there are folks out there who automatically put a target on their backs as soon as they enter into the realm of disobedience. Any person out there at any given moment who is walking in the spirit of this world could hear the wrong voice and yield to it. According to this scripture, it is the prince of the power of the air that takes control of folks when they yield to him.

    Ya’ll, dont give the enemy power over you. Walk in the Spirit!

  21. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

    5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

    6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

    7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

    8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    God did not wait till we were lovable to start loving us. He loved us even when we’re dead in sin. So much so that He died for us. He shared in our death so the we could share in His resurrection.

    Now the old us has been crucified and we are new creations in Jesus! And this is only by His saving and undeserving grace. For if we tried to make it on our own, without His grace, we would fail.

    And because our identity is now in Jesus, just as He sits in heavenly places, so do we!

  22. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
    5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
    6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

    OOOO HIS MERCY IS MORE THAN ICOULD EVER IMAGINE!!! I cannot wrap my.mind around such love HE hath for me……I will never be able to fully understand…….. I love you DADDY!!!

  23. “Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.”
    Ephesians 2:1‭-‬3 NLT

    The tense of this passage is past tense: “You USED TO live in sin.” He said that all of us USED TO follow the flesh and the devil while refusing to obey God. However, God reached down when we were in sin and reconciled us by his grace. Now, Paul expects that the old sinful lifestyle is behind us and we are acting as new creatures in Christ.

    If we have not left those old sins behind, if we are still living for the flesh and refusing to submit to God, then there is something wrong with our relationship with Christ. “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? GOD FORBID!” Our new walk should be one that is continually growing in righteousness and in good works because we are walking in the Spirit and grace of our loving God.

    “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
    Ephesians 2:10 NLT

    Let us do good, that His grace may abound to many.

  24. Thank you Jesus for Word, unity brings everything together through Grace and Faith we live in Obedience . Putting God First is number 1 that means we surrender our soul to him putting away the Flesh
    “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the Good things he planned for us long ago”
    Ephesians 2:10

  25. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
    20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
    21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
    22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

    We make up the Church body. As the body is it has many members that do different things. From the top of head to the soles of the feet, we all have a part to play. To build the Kingdom Of God, we must work together in unison. God has fit us, put us together to build His Kingdom First.

  26. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
    5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
    6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
    7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

  27. In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.
    Ephesians 2:12‭-‬13 NLT

    The blood of Jesus fully paid the price for our sins, purchased our citizenship into the Kingdom, and brought us into fellowship with God. The blood paid, not only for our sins but, for the sins of the whole world. Still, it just be appropriated by each individual. We do that by believing Jesus died for us, turning from our sins, and being baptized in water and Spirit. Contrary to what others say, it takes more than just a confession.

  28. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

  29. 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

    It was the grace of God that lead us out of sin and into the body of Christ. Our sin was punishable by death but Christ died that we would not have to die in our sin but die to the flesh. After our flesh died He awakened us in Him that we may live a new life.

    We cannot say that our good works and actions give us a right to be favored by God because it doesn’t. Our new way of life is because of Him and it is because of His spirit living in us that we do not return to the old man. We die to three flesh daily that He May live through us.

    I am so thankful for the grace of God.

  30. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

    20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
    The two people groups Jews and Gentiles are made equal, given equal access.
    We are able to come boldly before God only through Jesus Christ (the second man Adam) we are no longer a out cast but sons and daughters to the King. In this family we must build upon the rock. The chief corner stone a stone that never moves never changes.
    We can rejoice because we are part of his family part of his kingdom.

  31. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.
    Ephesians 2:15‭-‬16 NLT

    Amen! I speak unity over us in Jesus name!!!

  32. For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;
    EPHESIANS 2:8 AMP

    Love covers a multitude of sins. Its is by his grace becuase of His love towards us that we have this salvation. He purchased and paid the whole price when we were not deserving of. He pours out his mercy and not that we earned it but simply that he loved us that despite how we may have treated God, He is always waiting with his arms open desiring that we too desire Him. May we reciprocate that love and kindness and seek Him not only in the time of trouble and need but I the time of blessing for He is our greatest reward and blessing.

  33. Ephesians 2
    4) but God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
    5) even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
    8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.

  34. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

    20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

    21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

    22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
    God forgive for my ways
