Ephesians 6

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

  1. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    We should be eating aginst the enemy and not our “enemies” of this world. We are children of God and not of this world! Our fights are against the enemy !

  2. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

    Just because we have the armor of God on us doesn’t mean that the enemy will not keep attacking us. Yet we will be able to resist, with the armor of God we will not fall but stand strong and persist. With the armor of God I can imagine the attacks bouncing off from us. Don’t remove the armor of God, we need to be completely protected and standing on His promises. The devil might want to destroy, kill, and steal BUT he can’t compete with God. My God is powerful and mighty!!!!

    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

    16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

    17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

  3. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    Being prepared is the key!

    We can stand with part of the armor, or think that one price is more important than the other. This verse says something important. Not that if the evil day would come, but when the day comes.

    That’s why the armor is so imperative, because that day will come.

  4. 23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
    24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

    Have a peaceful blessed day, remembering the reason we celebrate today…the birth of our savior.

  5. Jesus is peace and love.

    I thankyou Jesus for letting me know how to work under somebody w authority. I should remember that im not pleasing man, but God.

    And thankyou Jesus for your grace, love, and peace in my life. I pray that I can love even just a little bit like you Jesus.

  6. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
    Ephesians 6:18 KJV

    Prayer is essential for every Christian. There can not be a day that passes by without it! Just like putting on the armour of God is important, prayer is a must!

    As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
    Psalms 55:16‭-‬17 KJV

  7. Knowing the truth of about the scripture’s message brings us into faith which gives us salvation and righteousness. As our faith grows we become better equipped to with stand our spiritual battles when it is acts in conjunction with continual prayer and supplication.

  8. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
    18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

    Before going into battle a warrior must prepare and have protection against his own body. The same is also applicable to the world that we walk into every day. It is a battlefield and which we fight and war against our flesh and the principalities. Every piece of the armor of God is important but I believe with all my heart that the helmet of salvation and the breastplate of righteousness are of the uttermost importance for our thoughts to be protected as well as our hearts. Those are the two most damagingkinks in the armor if they are properly protected. The enemy spends most of his time attacking our emotions and our thoughts and those should be heavily guarded with our obedience to the word and our meditation on the word of God

  9. Verses 13-18 MSG “Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” As the song “In Jesus’ Name” says:

    God is fighting for us
    Pushing back the darkness
    Lighting up the Kingdom
    That cannot be shaken
    In the Name of Jesus
    Enemy’s defeated
    And we will shout it out
    Shout it out

    Let us shout it out together (POFW) in Jesus’ name. I pray everyone have a safe and blessed “Merry Christmas”!

  10. 6Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.

    This pertains to the young and the old, always do good. Always do good as though your parents are watching you. In everything you do, ask yourself, “would my parents, my spouse or God do this?” If the answer is no, it’s probably wise not too. Once the decision is made to do good, peace and joy will be with you.

    Proverbs 8:34 Joyful are those who listen to me,
    watching for me daily at my gates, waiting for me outside my home.

    Everyone have a blessed and Merry Christmas!

  11. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.
    Ephesians 6:11‭-‬13 NLT

    When storms come our way, or we are dealt an attack from the enemy it is not Biblical for us to barely make it through. It’s not Biblical for us to stagger through to victory. Its not Biblical for us to limp around injured and lick our wounds. It IS Biblical, however, to make it through standing firm on our foundation of Truth and faith, having put on our full armor given by God Himself and utilizing such prime equipment properly for us to stand strong. It’s not by our own strength. But we stand strong in the LORD and the POWER of HIS MIGHT. When we utilize all these applications properly we become a soldier for Christ that cannot be reckoned with.

  12. Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
    Ephesians 6:6‭-‬7 KJV

    When we do what we do from the heart as unto the Lord, then we do it with a good attitude, out of joy, and not to be seen. Though this passage is discussing how servants should work for their masters, it can apply to just about everything we do. Are we praying just to be seen? Worshipping just to be seen? Doing what is expected of us only when someone is watching? Are we giving gifts this season only because it is expected? Or giving gifts that will make us look good in someone else’s eyes?

    These are people who compare themselves among themselves. Who compare their gift or their sacrifice to what others give. Who always have a bigger story to tell than the one they just heard. Who practice one-ups-manship to make themselves feel better.

    When we live like this, there is no joy in living, loving, or doing. We rob ourselves of contentment and of heavenly reward. However, when all that we do is done out of love for God and for others, then we can be at peace with who we are and enjoy the presence of God in all that we do. Life is better when we live out God’s love.

  13. 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

    16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

    17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    These scriptures are very vital for a Christian soldier to be prepared for battle. God lays out the specific package for the warrior to do battle in the spiritual realm. We can not afford the to miss the opportunity to know what our resources and how they work.

    I can say that in all the years that I have been a firefighter I still have to maintain a knowledge of the equipment I have to put on to go into a house that is on fire. If I didn’t know how to properly don them them they could not protect me. God has given us a way that we can accomplish victory over our enemy.
    And of the scriptures above the one that we have to pay the most attention to is verse 13:
    13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    It is not true victory unless we having done all to stand. I can guarantee that it won’t be easy, but if it was so easy everyone could do it.

    Seek first the kingdom, and I promise you will be victorious in all that you do for the kingdom.

    I love the Kingdom!

  14. AMP – The Armor of God
    10 In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. 11 Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. 13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. 14 So stand firm and hold your ground, having [b]tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), 15 and having [c]strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. 16 Above all, lift up the [protective] [d]shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

    18 With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all [e]God’s people. 19 And pray for me, that words may be given to me when I open my mouth, to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news [of salvation], 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. And pray that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly and courageously, as I should.

    This portion of scripture is the daily recipe for living a victorious life.

    The study notes said that the shield back in battle days would cover the entire body, and when dipped in water would put out the firey darts that were aimed at it so that no harm would come to the soldier. If we could apply that spiritually – everyday cover our “shield” with the Spirit of God, then whatever firey darts this old enemy sends our way, we would be protected by the covering of the Spirit of God.

  15. Ephesians 6:18-19 (amp)
    18) With all prayer and petition pray (with specific requests) at all times (on every occasion and in every season) in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance (interceding in prayer) for all God’s people.
    19) And pray for me, that words may be given to me when I open my mouth, to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (of salvation).

    Intercede in prayer for all God’s people. Pray for Pastor when he preaches the Word of God.
    Pastor & Sis. Watts and POFW family, I give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in my prayers everyday.

    Merry Christmas and I pray you all have a safe and blessed day in JESUS!

  16. Ephesians 6 :1-23-24 ( Peace be to the brethren, and love joined with faith; from God the Father and the the Lord Jesus Christ ( the Messiah, the Annointed One). [ 24] Grace God’s undeserved favor ) be with all who undying and incorruptible

  17. Ephesians 6
    Oh Come Let Us Adore Him
    6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

    His privilegedv to know who Jesus Christ really is.

    Isaiah 9:6
    national Version
    For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

    How could we not love such a beautiful gift sent from God Himself His Self wrapped in flesh.

    Love goes beyond just words it’s a deep relationship that communicates through actions and proclamations. To bow before Him to give praises because of Who He is .
    Surrounded by what appeared to be 1000 people. singing carols a silent prayer . How privileged we are to be able to lift up our voices in adoration. Not just a traditional praise or song but able to truly speak from our hearts.
    Oh Come Let Us Adore Him Christ our Lord
    I’m so glad I know Whom this Baby is we celebrate today . King of Kings and Lord of All I give you praise.

  18. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
    Ephesians 6:1‭-‬3 KJV
    A child’s primary responsibility is to learn to obey their parents. This lesson is so important it comes with a promise of wellness and long life. Children must learn to respect the authority of their parents so they can transfer that respect to every other authority figure in their lives, most importantly to God! Merry blessed Christmas to everyone, hope your day is filled with His love and you are able to share it with those close to you!

  19. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KINGDOM WARFARE

    12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    Here is a priceless key to UNITY in the Church of JESUS. The apostle declares what we are not wrestling with; “flesh and blood” or “people”. However, conflict in the church originates with people opposing each other.

    The apostle reveals to the church a trick or wile of the devil. Have people blame each other for their differences and not spirit of iniquity. Often people would prefer to hold a grudge than to go to prayer and war against the sin that has caused the conflict.

    On this beautiful day we will be wise to ponder any offenses we may have, any grudges that may be present and identify the root sin of the conflict. Then use the power of GOD in prayer against that sin, releasing the individual from judgement and bind the spirit of iniquity over the person.

    This is wrestling, principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore in the future, when we are tempted to be upset with or hold a grudge against a person (flesh and blood) let us FIRST seek The Kingdom of GOD and HIS Righteousness and wrestle the opponents that HE declares before we consider wrestling or begrudging a person.

    Merry CHRISTmas to all!

  20. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
    14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

  21. 6:2
    This inv0lves more than obedience which may be only. Compliance with the demands of a stronger person .Honor involves respect and appreciation

  22. A good father

    4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

    I have heard a lot of parents say that they do not have to tell their children why they can or cannot do something or why they are telling the child to do something. They say “ I am the parent and they don’t need to know why” I understand the respect aspect of the thought pattern. The children need to respect and trust us enough to do what we say without question. I do not believe that our children should question us, but I do believe we should tell them why they are doing or not doing something. This is just going to build their common sense and trust in our decisions. Once you take the time to explain your decision to your child, they will always know why and never have the question again. Parenting is teaching and teaching is ministering. You may be asking why I wrote all that about fathers not provoking their children to wrath?… I believe the most frustrating thing for a child is to not understand. If they only know one thing and that is to obey without knowledge, then we are failing as fathers. Teach them why while your teaching them to respect.

  23. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
    Ephesians 6:1‭-‬4 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/eph.6.1-4.KJV

    Here is what I have noticed today. There is no warning to parents about the actions of their children. How we raise our children reflects on us. Like the verse says, “provoke not your children to wrath.” We are clearly warned here to raise our children with admonition of the Lord. Also it says, “Children love thy father and mother.” How then is a child to love their father and mother; when they are constantly being punished. This is what it means. Parents need to be mindful of how they treat those that come after them. My father was abused as a child, but he fought to be different than his father. It worked for him: I thank him for not being as his father was. Because of who my parents were: is why I am the way I am with our son. I believe that God is guiding me to train Dakota in the right way and to show him that there are those out there that will try to tear him down for who he is. Lord I thank you today for raising me up to be the father that Dakota needs. I thank you for him in my life.

    Admonition in the Greek 3559 nouthesia: in short means to be warned or mild rebuke.

  24. 4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

    5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

    6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

    7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

    I think that a Father wants what is the absolute best, but sometimes when they get mad they can say it do things to make a child angry, because u add hally end up taking away a possession and it makes the child angry,But I think that he is saying that a father is supposed to Love the children the way christ loves, and he needs to lead his house in the love of christ and not in the flesh
    And when we serve in the church it’s to Jesus, not trying to impress others or look and see who is watching, because I beleive God is always looking at our hearts, and our motives, if we are gonna serve because I’m gonna serve I need to do it with Humility, and Not trying to please anyone! Because just as much as God uses me, He can sit me down and knock my prideful ways out of me. by putting me in a place of submission!

    19) And for me, that utterance will be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
    20) for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
    I hope all of you have/have had a blessed Christmas.

  28. Fully protected and Fully Victorious

    In the end of the battle what matters is who is still standing. In a wrestling match the contenders get points when you have one of the contenders back to the floor and the other one on top;
    each endeavours to throw the other, and which is decided when the victor is able to hold his opponent down with his hand upon his neck.

    With this in mind, I think of the Gadarene man who was possessed by evil spirits. The bible described how no one could hold him even with chains for he would bust them. This is a demonstration of supernatural strength. Now imagine this kind of force going in a wrestle against a human. The individual does not stand a chance. It is no joke that we are told to put on the full armour of God that is the only way to be fully protected. The enemy does not fight fair cause he wants to takes us down and take us out. But God’s word says we will not go unarmed against him.

    The amplified version puts it so clearly:
    So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one . And take the helmet of salvation , and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
    EPHESIANS 6:14‭-‬17 AMP

    And to add to this, if you thought the strength of evil spirits was big, the Word says GREATER is HE that is in Me! I have by the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, the very same power that rose Jesus from the dead. I have power and authority over all devils (Luke 9:1) and power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt us (Luke 10:19).

    And we have the power of God’s love for us for he will not leave us nor forsake us.

    Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Romans 8:37‭-‬39 KJV

  29. 5Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
    6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
    7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

    All for the service of the King

    When we work, whether it be fir the Kingdom or our earthly work, we must do it as to the Lord. That means we should always be ready to minister to the hurting. Let us work for His Kingdom every day.

  30. iLove the Kingdom
    5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

    6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

    7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

    If we would all approach serving the Lord like this it would remove alot of frustration from us. When we serve as to the Lord and not try and attempt to be man pleasers, it is a testimony of true faith in God. Why else would we do what we do if there was no God? Those who do things to be men pleasers prove they do not truly believe in God. Let’s prove our love to Jesus and serve the King.

  31. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

  32. “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    There are many ways to resist the devil, but the one above all is the shield of faith. We must have faith to please God. We must continue to hold up our faith when things come at us. It protects us. When we use our faith it shield us from the things around us. Bad things still happen, they are still there, but it doesn’t pierce us because we are protected by our faith.

  33. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

    If I’m only remembered for standing for God and truth, then that should be enough for me. Education and material things will die off and be forgotten, but God and His Word is forever.
