Colossians 1

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

  1. I pray that you will be grateful to God for letting you have part in what he has promised his people in the kingdom of light. God rescued us from the dark power of Satan and brought us into the kingdom of his dear Son, who forgives our sins and sets us free.
    Colossians 1:12‭-‬14 CEV

    It is His mercy and love that has me here today to be in His kingdom… It’s not by my own doing. This so great iof salvation was for me and you from the beginning of time. And i must reach out to those that are blind and remind that GOD is calling and reaching for them. Thankful today that His grace reached for me in my darkest moments in my life❤

    For there is no respect of persons with God.
    Romans 2:11 KJV

  2. Verses 9-12 MSG “Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you’ll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you’ll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.” In the CEV this portion of scripture is captioned “The Person and Work of Christ”. We must encourage one another and each new babe in Christ by lifting them/each other up in prayer. Pray for others as you would want to be prayed for.

  3. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

    22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

    There is nothing in this old world that can save us from thin untoward generation except for the blood of Jesus. We have been washed in the blood and made white as snow as our sins were erased from our life. By offering himself as a spotless and blameless sacrifice that paid a debt that no man could pay. I am blessed because I was once lost but now I am found. Once blind but now I see. Because Jesus lived us so much that he did not hesitate to go to the cross and not even speak one word until the mission was complete. When the veil was tent on that wonderful day to allow me to have a direct line to God without having to go tot he high priest. We are no longer under the law but under grace. It was his amazing grace that saved me, it was his amazing grace the has kept me thus far and it will be his grace that will allow me to make it home. To take hold of death, Hell, and the grave so that I could be reconciled unto him, What a Savior!

    Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound
    That saved a wretch like me
    I once was lost, but now am found
    T’was blind but now I see
    T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear
    And Grace, my fears relieved
    How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed
    Through many dangers, toils and snares
    We have already come.
    T’was grace that brought us safe thus far
    And grace will lead us home,
    And grace will lead us home
    Amazing grace, Howe Sweet the sound
    That saved a wretch like me
    I once was lost but now am found
    T’was blind but now I see
    Was blind, but now I see.

    I love the Kingdom!

  4. Colossians 1. Message

    Paul sets a great example how to be an encouragement to the new believers. Prayer and words of admonition. Encouragement that they will grow . He makes a statement that he will pray they gave the strength to continue. I was talking to a young woman the other day about why some of the choices were made in her life. She said power of persuasion. Will we the church be persistent enough in prayer and love and care to help those who may be weak. We must lay aside many times our own agenda our own desires to help someone. What am I a follower of Christ showing to this world ? Am I praying for those who have come to know truth and leading them into more knowledge. Am I loving and encouragingly them? Do I believe they will grow and learn more . Awe I hope . For it is Christ within us that gives us hope.
    I have this hope and if you have the Spirit of God you Rio have it. No we must rise up and use it to the glory of God . You can make it!

    Colossians 1:27
    God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

    9-12 Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven’t stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. 5. 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
    23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

    This is what made Paul so firm in his faith. This was his mantra and his theme for his entire life after converting. If every person in the body of Christ can get this in their spirit that nothing will move them from the gospel and they will stay grounded then they will become a Force not to be reckoned with.

  6. 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

  7. Psalms 119

    11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

    12 Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

    As you begin reading Psalms 119 it is clear to see what proclamation is being made. Precious promises that if applied to our life will strengthen and sustain us! Oh to memorize His words to pen them deep into our hearts so that we can pull them up into our memory in times we need help. Thank you Lord for your Word . Thank you Pastor for your encouragement to us to read daily and to do our best to comprehend what it is truly saying .

    Psalm 119:105 King James Version (KJV)

    105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

    Clearly the reason to read the Word. We get the grand privilege of walking in Light. He is Light . His word guides us pushing out every darkness.

  8. God is the creator. When we stand with God, the enemy may try to take us down, but God has all power. He gives us strength in our time of need. Lets go forth in Jesus name telling the world who God really is.

  9. This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace. He has told us about the love for others that the Holy Spirit has given you.
    Colossians 1:6‭, ‬8 NLT

    Let’s continue to share the good news so whole world can know. We won’t stop till the whole world knows thats you are Lord of Lord and King of Kings

  10. Colossians 1:6 (NLT)
    “This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.”

    The Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is going out all over the world and bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives.

    Thank You Pastor and Sis. Watts for sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those in Thailand. I pray that the Word of God will mixed with Faith and that It will be profitable to those who hear and understand it. Thank You for always bring back a Good Report on the “lives that are changed” through the Power of God’s Word, and for the Miracles of Healing that take place, too.

    Thank You Bro. Jackson for sharing with us every month the Good Report of what God is doing in hearts and lives in other countries. It’s encouraging to hear about people being saved, being healed, churches starting, etc…

    Truly the Good News is going out all over the world and bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives. Thank You JESUS!!!

  11. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    THE GREAT MYSTERY

    26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
    27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

    THE GREAT MYSTRY of FAITH in Christ JESUS is revealed by and through HIS church.

    How do we have HOPE in hopeless situations?
    How do we have PEACE in chaos?
    How do we have JOY in times of sorrow?
    How do we have HEALTH in times of sickness?
    How do we have VICTORY in times of defeat?

    The mystery is simple:

    CHRIST in YOU, the HOPE of GLORY!

    The GREAT MYSTERY of The Kingdom of GOD is:

    Am I in HIM so that HE can be in me?

    JESUS is in us when we learn HIS word and are filled with HIS Spirit. This is why the CHURCH must READ the BIBLE everyday and pray in the SPIRIT everyday. Empowering HIS Church with THE GREAT MYSTERY that confounds the world.

  12. Colossians 1:16 -17 [Amp] For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen , whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [ by His service, intervention) and in and for Him. [17] And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist ( cohere, are held together). The Lord formed and brought me [ Wisdom] fourth at the beginning of His way; before His acts of old. Wisdom was inaugurated and ordained from everlasting from the beginning, before the earth existed. Seek Me early and diligently you will find me.The Lord fruit is better than gold. For whoever finds me wisdom finds life and draws forth and obtains favor from the Lord. God is the creator of all. The reverent and worshipful fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom. I thank God for his Wisdom and Knowledge. I have been praying for people to surrender their lives to Jesus . I must be saved.

  13. “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:27-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    The mystery made known

    There is such a desire to understand things by this generation: looking for answers everywhere, having to know how and why things work, and taking them things apart to fugure it out. In this case, the mystery is revealed! Yes it is still good to unpeal the layers to find other answers in the word, but this one is made plain so that no one can mistake the mystery and how it is revealed. The answer is plainly writen for all of us.

  14. AMP – 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about it, we have not stopped praying for you, asking [specifically] that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [with insight into His purposes], and in understanding [of spiritual things], 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord [displaying admirable character, moral courage, and personal integrity], to [fully] please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing in the knowledge of God [with deeper faith, clearer insight and fervent love for His precepts]; 11 [we pray that you may be] strengthened and invigorated with all power, according to His glorious might, to attain every kind of endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints (God’s people) in the Light.

    What does my life say about Jesus? Am I unmoveable? Unshakeable? displaying a manner worthy of the Lord, admirable character, moral courage and personal integrity? How I live my life before others is a testimony of the Lord in my life. I most live worthy of His presence and display Jesus at all times.

  15. 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

    11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

    Are we living in a way that is pleasing to Him? Are we bringing Him honor with our works? Are we producing fruit?

    “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

  16. If you continue in the faith is the key phrase here. We know it’s not once saved always saved. Jesus paid the price and has paved the way for us, with he himself going first in all things, even death and resurrection. We must follow him.

  17. iLove the Kingdom
    16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

    17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

    This scripture very clearly explains to us why we should expect divine miracles…because Jesus is over all things. Don’t let no devil in hell talk you outta your miracle. Jesus is over all the power of the enemy. The thing about it is, Jesus gave us dominion over the earth. We must speak things into existence and bind those things that are raging against the Word of God.

  18. 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
    11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

    Quite the hearty checklist: walk worthy, be fruitful, study, do works, and bare patiently with joy!! Keep His Kingdom first and the list will become much easier to maintain.

  19. I Love to worship the Lord
    1:4
    The word meaning holy ones or set apart ones is frequently used with the simple meaning believers or Christians
    1:6
    Producing Fruit and Growing
    it is good to rember when folks come crying for something better that the Gospel has proven its vitality and life changing power the world over in every age

  20. “which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News. This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:5-6

    The importance of your testimony. It’s the Gospel that got your spirit turning. Do you remember when your life first changed and you wanted to share with everyone what was going on. You wanted to share the good news! Well that’s what should never die, simply because the Gospel never dies. The same God that saved my Pawpaw is the same God that saved me. That being said you could very well be the person that shred their personal testimony at the right time. There is no wrong time to rejoice what God has done but what I’m saying is, someone out there right now is needing to hear what God has done in your life. So we need to Go grow the kingdom by sharing the good news first. Sharing thy Kingdom first.

  21. 8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.
    9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
    10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

    If a fruit does not bear fruit something is wrong. Yet, who planted the tree in the first place? The wind, a bird, a farmer. No matter how you got here, were glad your here. But we we must bear fruit, fruit of the Spirit of God. What kind of fruit are you bearing. Is it something that people will want to eat? Meaning do they want to be around you or like you? Do show Gods love in a dead world. Let us be fruitful and multiply.

  22. Thank you Jesus , More of you, less of me thats who i want to be
    9 For this reason we also , since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with knowledge of his Will in all Wisdom and spiritual understanding:
    10 That you may walk worthy of the Lord, Fully pleasing him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God
    11 Strengthened with all might , according to his glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with Joy
    12 Giving thanks to the father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the Light
    13 He has delivered us from the power of Darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the son of his Love

  23. That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
    Colossians 1:10 KJV

    As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children, That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
    1 Thessalonians 2:11‭-‬12 KJV

    I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
    Ephesians 4:1 KJV

    Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
    Luke 21:36 KJV

    Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
    Revelation 3:4 KJV

    How we walk day by day will determine our destination. We should walk in fruitfulness and faithfulness. We should walk with our eyes focused on heaven. We should walk in a way that gives glory to God and points others to Him. We can’t walk with the world and with Christ at the same time. We must walk on the straight and narrow path that leads to life, even if it sometimes seems that we are walking it alone, or walking away from those we love. He will never leave or forsake those who walk with Him.

  24. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
    Colossians 1:15 KJV
    Jesus is the image of the invisible God! Therefore, He is the only God we will see. That is why He said, ” he that has seen me has seen the father.”. I am so glad I know who I worship. He is the alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the Almighty!

  25. 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

    16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

    God is the beginning and the end

  26. 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

    We were made to glorify God. We were made for His kingdom. When we live a life without a relationship with our Savior we depart from our purpose.

  27. 9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

    If we were to pray that we might know his will, in wisdom and understanding, we would see how we are to fit intoHis plan for our lives, and how we are to be used to accomplish His will.

  28. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

  29. 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

    All things created for God. He made all. And if you are ur he creator you have power over all. You have power and authority over all your creation.

  30. Colossians 1
    9b)[We] desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
    10) That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
    11) Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyful ness;
    12a) Giving thanks unto the Father

  31. 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

    11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

    12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

  32. 10Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

    How true, the way you live makes a big difference. Live a righteous life in which pleases God. Little by little your relationship with God is growing.
