Proverbs Chapter 14

1 Timothy 3

This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:

15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

  1. Verse 5 ERV “If a man does not know how to lead his own family, he will not be able to take care of God’s church.” I believe it begins at home; so, as Joshua 24:15 KJV says “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” So many stories in the bible, where the head of a household believed and not only were they saved; but, their entire household. Thank you Lord….JESUS today YOU will SAVE me and my household.

  2. 8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

    9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

    10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

    11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

    12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

    God has high expectations and rules for his leaders. Everywhere leaders go they represent Him. And Jesus should not be represented with unfaithfulness, lies, greed, and undisciplined habits. Such a representation is NOT set apart from the world, it is unholy. And without holiness, we will not see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14 NIV).

  3. 14. These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:

    15. But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

    It’s easy to let ourselves get too familiar with the house of God and let it become a common place to us when actually, the more miracles we see God do, and the more people we witness receive the Holy Ghost and get baptized, the more precious and holy it should become to us.
    When we remind ourselves of who meets us there and how lives are changed there, we get a renewed respect and remember how we should behave, and teach our children to behave, in God’s house.
    Another step in putting FIRST the Kingdom is remembering how to behave in the King’s House.

  4. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

    Part of being proved is to be faithful in small things or tasks, then we will be trusted with larger tasks in the kingdom.

  5. (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

    I work hard at keeping chaos from my home. Does it work all the time, no. Most of the time it does. This is the thing in today’s society. Parents don’t rule their homes; they allow the children to rule over them. I’m sorry, but my child is learning discipline and that when he is here there are rules. He also knows that I’m the head of the house as Fid is the head over me. Does that mean to rule with an iron fist; I don’t believe so. It means to keep your home in order. Whom will I allow to rule over my home. Well there is only one allowed to rule this house and Gis name is Emmanuel, Jesus, Lord of lords, King of kings, the great I AM. Thank you Jesus for ordering my house this day.

    And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord , choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .

  6. 8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

    Our Church font have any deacon’s, but I’ve seen Apostolic Deacons, and they were stern, and didn’t play games, I’ve seen other types too, I kept my distance because they wasn’t right, not everyone that takes the requirements of the Lord for whatever office they might hold to serious, but some are passionate about their position in the church others not so much! Its important to be an example to others that’s why God put it all out there what he expects from each office, From the platform to the door, from the Bishop to the Apostal. everyone has a their part in reaching the new person that walks through that door, but some take Ke that responsibility very seriously, and others do not, it’s a title, I cant get cought up in titles, I’m still a saint, Im still a servant, I’m still accountable. Jesus has the most highest title ever and he was still serving, still humble, and still THE KING!

  7. “In the same way, deacons must be well respected and have integrity. They must not be heavy drinkers or dishonest with money. They must be committed to the mystery of the faith now revealed and must live with a clear conscience. Before they are appointed as deacons, let them be closely examined. If they pass the test, then let them serve as deacons. In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and be faithful in everything they do.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:8-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Nothing to add on when the scripture tell us exactly how we must conduct our selves as leaders in the church. God help us to reach your standards as leaders.

  8. 4-5 [Amp] He must rule his own house-hold well , keeping his children under control, with true dignity, commanding their respect in everyway and keeping them respectful. [5] For if a man does not know how to rule his own household, how is he to take care of the church of God ? Lord save me and my family !

  9. 14I am writing these things to you now, even though I hope to be with you soon, 15so that if I am delayed, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.
    16Without question, this is the great mystery of our faithf:

    Christg was revealed in a human body
    and vindicated by the Spirit.h
    He was seen by angels
    and announced to the nations.
    He was believed in throughout the world
    and taken to heaven in glory. (NLT)

    This is the truth of the church. We are the church of the living God. The God that clothed himself in the flesh cane to earth by the virgin birth, ministered 331/2 years to those that followed him, crucified for redemption sake for the sin of all mankind, went to the grave for 3 days and then rose and went to hell to get the keys to the kingdom. Today we are a blessed, chosen, and peculiar people of the most high God. We need to seek first the kingdom to strengthen our faith in the body of believers that is the church of the living God.

    I love the Kingdom!

  10. The Mystery of the Faith

    Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

    It’s so rewarding to teach the gospel to new believers and then see them walking in the faith. It’s so important that we follow the Word in every area that we may lead them with a pure conscience.

    God has placed the gospel in our hands to share it in its purest form. Not watered down by our inconsistencies.

    Father, You have made me a living espistle. forgive me if my words or actions have watered down Your Word in hearts of those around me. Cause me to live out loud Your Word.

  11. 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

    I heard a story of a young preacher that had a head full of steam. He thought he was going to preach the house down with the most powerful message that he had ever heard. He went to the pulpit with his head held high full of pride. He began to speak but the words just seemed to not come out, they were not making since when they did come out. An elder preacher saved him and preached a very simple but non the less powerful message about Jesus crucified for our sins. The young preacher left the pullout with his head hung low with all the pride stripped from his being. The elder preacher is the one that told me this story. He said to me “ YOUNG PREACHER, Listen to me. If he would have went up with his head low, he would have came back with his head high.”it is not about how you enter but how you exit. The novis was overwhelmed by the authority and anointing of the pulpit. This is why we need our elders to be strong and ready to teach us young men the way. Thank God for our elders.

  12. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
    3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
    4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
    5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
    6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
    7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

    How do our actions say about us? My mind goes to the old saying, actions speak louder than words. We can preach the gospel all we want too, however it is our actions that show the truth. We can say we shouldn’t be angry, but then we fly off the handle when we get cut off in traffic. Or what about we should have the mind of Christ, yet we laugh when one of our coworkers tells a not so appropriate joke. At one time or another we all have be guilty of our actions not lining up with what we have said. This is why it should be a on going task to become more like these characteristics. Our actions do speak louder than what we say. Are our actions Kingdom minded? Do we put first His Kingdom, or our own agenda? My prayer is that God will show me how to act in His Kingdom at all times, so I may shine ever brighter for His Glory and Kingdom.

  13. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil

    Why we shouldn’t care what the world thinks when it comes to our lifestyle and worship. We should simultaneously be aware of the fact that people are watching us and waiting for us to fall. Part of being a good witness is having a reputation of someone with integrity and character. If people don’t trust you that it doesn’t matter what you’re saying to them because they’re not going to listen to it. Our image is to emulate Christ and nothing less

  14. Women must likewise be worthy of respect, not malicious gossips, but self-controlled, [thoroughly] trustworthy in all things.
    1 TIMOTHY 3:11 AMP
    The word of GOD will always be faithful and true!!
    But one of my favorite books to read is the book of Proverbs. It teaches me in every way what to do and warn me of the consequences if i do wrong

    Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
    Psalms 119:11 KJV

  15. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16

    Had this one pre highlighted.
    Early in my Holy Ghost years I used this many times to show oneness to folks. I sewed a good seed. Not everyone though is gonna receive this revelation. There was a gentleman that always came with some off the wall explanation and I would always look at him like he was crazy but when I would be driving or praying or both I would think of this man. I thought to myself, wow how sad. It’s so sad that there’s people in this world that truly believe in something other than the truth other than what the Bible actually says. My heart aches for those, because they think they know truth but really they’re just as lost as the people next door. Today I pray Hod gives me wisdom to speak to “hard-headed” folks and that I could be a good witness to them.

    • In Jesus name this world needs boldness and God has given authority to reach the lost .?i pray wisdom and spiritual authority as we go into the world to reach the lost. Many will try to confuse the Word this is why we must study and apply daily to our lives.

  16. Also, people outside the church must speak well of him so that he will not be disgraced and fall into the devil’s trap. so that if I am delayed, you will know how people must conduct themselves in the household of God. This is the church of the living God, which is the pillar and foundation of the truth.
    1 Timothy 3:7‭, ‬15 NLT
    Thanks you JESUS for our awesome Elders at our church thank you for having my family bless
    And thank you for using me to spread your gospel

  17. 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

    5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

    If we cannot have spiritual authority over our own house. How do we expect to have authority over this world and in the church? First get your house in order and the other things will follow.

  18. If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desirith a good work.
    2 A bishop then must be blameless , the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior , given to hospitality, apt to teach;
    3 Not given to wine, no striker , not greedy of filthy lucre ; but patient , not a brawler, not covetous;
    A bishop has an very important job that we have to respect

  19. iLove the Kingdom
    4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

    Whew, I had to recently teach the children ’bout the ole wood shed. Yep, the scripture is clear that the man of God must “ground” the high minded children back down and remind them of the laws of gravity. The ole wood shed talkin’ did some good as it helped humble the proud. We haven’t yet had a field trip to the ole wood shed, but they know the horror of what happens there. Patty Cake is over, you can’t have your cake and eat it too! (unless it’s your birthday).

    Gotta get the house in order and that starts by building a wood shed.

  20. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16

    Wow, wow, wow. Usw us God to spread Your truth!! Anoint us with boldness and confidence to be Your hands and feet.

  21. It is not unusual for God’s promotion to look like a demotion at first, to feel like you are going backward rather than forward. Consider how Joseph dreamt he would one day rule over his brothers? That God was going to promote him to a place of prominence? So what happened? His brothers threw him into a pit, he was sold into slavery and then he was put on the auction block and sold again in Egypt. On top of that, he ended up in prison on false charges and spent several years there.

    Without those experiences, Joseph would have never been ready to rule. Preparation comes before promotion. The way up may go down for a while at first. His promotion ended up looking more like a demotion, which is often the way God works. In the process of your promotion, He will take you through difficult times to prepare you for that promotion.

  22. Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith : Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory.
    1 Timothy 3:16 NLT

    16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

    My God is ONE GOD!! Hear O Israel the LORD OUR GOD is ONE LORD!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!

  23. I Timothy 3

    15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

    16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory .

    The Mystery was not about the godhead but about godliness. Paul has just given instructions to Timothy how to instruct those in service for the Kingdom. He then gives such a great admonishing statement. Godliness has to come from a heart of being transformed by the power of Jesus Christ . It t meaning is
    conforming to the laws and wishes of God; devout; devoted. But then he gives the answer to this mystery if godliness in how it is obtainable. Only through the gospel the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ can we walk upright.
    God became flesh. Living for God is obtainable through the power of His Love . Godliness comes from above we can live it we can profess it and knowing the fullness of who He is Jesus Christ God our Savior.

  24. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

    We can say that Jesus was justified by the Spirit not in the sense that He was once sinful but made righteous, but in the sense that He was declared to be, by the Holy Spirit, what He always was completely justified before the Father.

  25. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

    “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Because He was manifest in flesh, He set the path for us too to be received up in glory.

    But how do we do this? We become more like Him! And through His crucifiction, it has become possible for us to take on the characteristics of Him.

    We trust that Jesus will transform our life according to His word, as we put our focus on Him. We sometimes want religion to build His character in us; but truly, relationship with Jesus is what really does it.

  26. “This is a trustworthy saying: “If someone aspires to be a church leader, he desires an honorable position.” So a church leader must be a man whose life is above reproach. He must be faithful to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a good reputation. He must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must be able to teach. He must not be a heavy drinker or be violent. He must be gentle, not quarrelsome, and not love money. He must manage his own family well, having children who respect and obey him. For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church? A church leader must not be a new believer, because he might become proud, and the devil would cause him to fall. Also, people outside the church must speak well of him so that he will not be disgraced and fall into the devil’s trap.

    In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and being faithful in everything they do.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:1-7, 11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    People are watching! The statement that I’ve heard many times rings so clearly in my mind, “A leader leads at all times.” And with leadership come responsibilities.

  27. 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

    Jesus is the one who fulfills this scripture and the world needs him now more than ever. Thankful for what he is doing both here and abroad as souls come into the kingdom and are changed.

  28. This Christian life is a great mystery, far exceeding our understanding, but some things are clear enough:

    He appeared in a human body,
    was proved right by the invisible Spirit,
    was seen by angels.
    He was proclaimed among all kinds of peoples,
    believed in all over the world,
    taken up into heavenly glory.

    God is full of mysteries and of many things that our little brains will not be able to capture. However some things are very clear in His Word. Science can try to prove so many different ways on how humans were created or how the Earth was formed but His Word said that when He spoke it happened!!!! That simple, but the human mind can’t sometimes comprehend or understand it which then make humans seek another answer.

    Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.” John 20:29

    We are blessed because we believe in Him. We might not have seen in physically but I sure have seen Him move in my life miracle after miracle. Thank You Jesus!!!

  29. 11 In the same way, their wives[e] must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and be faithful in everything they do.

    It matters who you marry.
    It matters who you choose to spend the rest of your life with.
    It matters who you are partnering with in Ministry for the Kingdom of God.

    The characteristics of an individual do not change when a ring becomes involved. I had a sermon once taught in 2009 and it’s always stuck with me “the second most important decision of your life”. 1st Loving Jesus, and 2 who you marry.

    Seek FIRST the KINGDOM and allow their actions to demonstrate who they are.

  30. A Standard of Excellence
    Those Who have served will gain an excellent standing……. I Timothy 3:13

    KJV For they then have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

    The verse may be translated, For they who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and much joyful confidence in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.” This “good standing” is spiritual progress acquired by faithful church service.

    Matthew 25:21 His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of the Lord.

  31. “This is a trustworthy saying: “If someone aspires to be a church leader, he desires an honorable position.” So a church leader must be a man whose life is ABOVE REPROACH. He must be FAITHFUL to his wife. He must exercise self-control, live wisely, and have a GOOD REPUTATION…

    “In the same way, deacons must be well respected and have INTEGRITY. They must NOT BE heavy drinkers or DISHONEST with money. They must be COMMITTED to the mystery of the faith now revealed and must live with a CLEAR CONSCIENCE.

    “In the same way, their wives must be respected and must not slander others. They must exercise self-control and be FAITHFUL IN EVERYTHING they do.

    “A deacon must be FAITHFUL to his wife, and he must manage his children and household well.”
    1 Timothy 3:1‭-‬2‭, ‬8‭-‬9‭, ‬11‭-‬12 NLT

    “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
    1 Corinthians 4:2 KJV

    The qualification of faithfulness is preeminent in the above verses for anyone who wants to be used of God. The verses list these attributes of faithful people:
    ABOVE REPROACH
    FAITHFUL in marriage
    Of GOOD REPUTATION
    Of INTEGRITY
    NOT DISHONEST
    COMMITTED
    CLEAR CONSCIENCE
    FAITHFUL IN EVERYTHING

    Moreover, the Bible says this of unfaithful people:

    “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.”
    Luke 16:10 KJV

    “If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?”
    Luke 16:11 KJV

    “Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.”
    Proverbs 25:19 KJV

    The work of God is too important to entrust to unfaithful people. A person who holds office in a church (whether male or female) should be faithful in every area of their lives: faithful at work, at home, at church, and in the community; faithful with their word, with money, and with their family; faithful to serve, to discipline (themselves and their children), to pray, and to study the Word of God. If a person is not faithful in any area (yet portrays that they are in order to hold a position) there is an integrity issue that will likely infect the person as a whole and eventually may cause damage to the reputation of the church and/or the Gospel message.

    God knows that we are not perfect. Nevertheless, He IS looking for those who will be faithful.

    “His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
    Matthew 25:21 KJV

    “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of Lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”
    Revelation 17:14 KJV

  32. AMP – 8 [c]Deacons likewise must be men worthy of respect [honorable, financially ethical, of good character], not double-tongued [speakers of half-truths], not addicted to wine, not greedy for dishonest gain, 9 but upholding and fully understanding the mystery [that is, the true doctrine] of the [Christian] faith with a clear conscience [resulting from behavior consistent with spiritual maturity]. 10 These men must first be tested; then if they are found to be blameless and beyond reproach [in their Christian lives], let them serve as deacons. 11 [d]Women must likewise be worthy of respect, not malicious gossips, but self-controlled, [thoroughly] trustworthy in all things. 12 Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households. 13 For those who have served well as deacons gain a high standing [having a good reputation among the congregation], and great confidence in the faith which is [founded on and centered] in Christ Jesus.

    VS 11 – A woman in ministry must know her place, and be submitted not only to her husband but also her pastor. Nothing can ruin a minister more quickly than a wife who is rooted and grounded in the Apostolic Doctrine, or one that is like a loose cannon, always going off about everything.

    As Godly, Kingdom Minded Women we must rule our own spirits, be disciplined, be submissive and obedient and and be Apostolic.

  33. 15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
    16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

    Help me today Lord Jesus to draw closer to you that in all things Lord you will be first in my life.

  36. 1 Timothy 3:1 (Voice)
    “Here’s another statement you may trust; if anyone is seeking a position as overseer in the church, he desires an honorable and important work.”

    First of all, the overseer to me is the Pastor. The second thing that stood out to me is the word “WORK.” Then this reminded me of what Bro. Godwin said about Pastor and Sis. Watts last night, “Whether they are at home, at church, out and about, or here or over seas, they are always “WORKING.” How true!

    Thank You Pastor & Sis. Watts for your WORK and Labor of Love.

  37. 5 For if a man cannot manage his own household, how can he take care of God’s church?

    Such a true statement. If someone wants to give advice, look into the mirror first prior to giving it. If someone can’t take care of their home, keep a job, or live for God more than likely they should’nt be giving advice. Living through hard times, raising children, living as a single parent, or even living through the good times brings experience into your life. In a sense, it takes time and years to grow ‘experience’, and hopefully you’ll be ready to give advice when needed.

  38. I hope to come to you before long, but I am writing these instructions to you in case I am delayed, so that you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
    1 TIMOTHY 3:14‭-‬15 AMP

    We have instructions. We are not just winging it if can say that or go on mere human thought or feeling but in all things we are given instructions. Why? That we may be successful and victorious. Everything thing in life to succeed we have it in the Word. This reminded me of our leadership covenant and how and why we do the things we do and how they are backed up by the Word of God. Why? That we may he successful in the work of the Kingdom of God.

  39. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
    God was manifest (seen or demonstrated) in the flesh. God was justified in the Spirit (through miracles, signs & wonders), God was seen of angels (through Jesus) God was believed on in the world (through the gospel) and received up into glory (again through Jesus).

  40. “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    ‘This is aften quoted and interpreted as if it spoke of the mystery of the Godhead,or the mystery of Christ’s Person. But it is the mystery of godliness,or the secret by which all real godliness is produced the divine spring of all that can be called piety in man….. Godliness springs from the knowledge of the incarnation, death,resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ …. this is how God is know; and from abiding in the flows godliness .

  41. v1

    Ministers for Jesus Christ must be men and women of sincere character. A desire to point people to JESUS CHRIST and not their own persona.
    When we serve in the body of JESUS CHRIST , let us gladly
    serve as HIS ministers to the needs of others.

  42. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

    Husband and wife are ONE!!! Therefore both should be blameless, always glorifying GOD….

  44. 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
    Working for the Lord starts at the home.
    Must always keep order and pray over our houses.

  45. The wise woman builds her house [on a foundation of godly precepts, and her household thrives], But the foolish one [who lacks spiritual insight] tears it down with her own hands [by ignoring godly principles].
    PROVERBS 14:1 AMP

    AMEN!!!

  46. 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

    His house should be in order to be above

  47. “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭3:2-5 KJV

    I LOVE MY PASTOR!

    My pastor is a Man of God that knows how to talk to me and I am in awe of how God works things out!

    Jesus knows that his church needs the care of a shepherd who loves their sheep, I am the sheep of Christ! And my Shepard is my leader who I will follow!

  48. 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

    Ruling one’s house is not always the easiest of things to do. A man can rule with an iron fist, but that is just being a dictator and not loving his wife as Christ loved the church. Or a man could lead by example, ruling by permission, instead of position, and lead his wife and house as Christ does the church…

  49. God has an order in how things should be done. If we are to make it to heaven, we must follow God’s way. Don’t get discouraged when the enemy places road blocks in your way. God gives us the strength to overcome all things.

  50. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

    Their is an order to leadership and ministry that is divinely appointed by God. They need to be proven and tried, which takes time, trials and tribulations for them to grow spiritually. It’s not just a position to be used for recognition, because it’s not a role for self glorifying. lucifer, did and he got a one way ticket here like a bolt of lightning.

    Instead it’s a place of great spiritual weight that if a married couple isn’t prepared they will fall under the pressures of the enemy. This is why their is a process to every walk, and not all are called to the place of bishop or bishops wife. The wife is also important in lifting up their husband in ministry, whether it be teaching a class or scrubbing toilets. They are a “help meet” and if she doesn’t support him then it causes stress on the marriage and the work of the kingdom. We should be focused on first the kingdom and the relationships that follow with it can prosper.

  51. “This is a trustworthy saying: “If someone aspires to be a church leader, he desires an honorable position.””(1 Timothy‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

    It’s good to want to do more for the kingdom, and make God first in our lives. It takes discipline and devotion to develop a relationship with God. He needs to know he can trust us to lead not only ourselves but others.

  52. 15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth

    We are to always behave ourselves and respect the house of God.

  53. Bishop—
    nvestigation, inspection, visitation
    that act by which God looks into and searches out the ways, deeds character, of men, in order to adjudge them their lot accordingly, whether joyous or sad
    oversight
    overseership, office, charge, the office of an elder
    the overseer or presiding officers of a Christian church

    KJV Translation Count: 4x
    The KJV translates Strongs G1984 in the following manner: visitation (2x), bishoprick (1x), office of a bishop (1x).

    Strong’s Definitions: ἐπισκοπή episkopḗ, ep-is-kop-ay’; from G1980; inspection (for relief); by implication, superintendence; specially, the Christian “episcopate”:—the office of a “bishop”, bishoprick, visitation.

    Many people want to be in charge. They want to be the people that everyone sees and hears. This isn’t bad, but they might not realize all the responsibility with it. There are many things that they do that we don’t know about. Like other leaders they are constatantly under great criticism dabs scrutiny. This is why there are bwhaviorial outlines for them I. The Bible. We should remember to pray for them that God would use them in a mighty way and that they might lead others the way God has called them to lead. There are many distractions and ways to divert from God’s plan so we should pray they have clear vision while they lead.

  54. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

    For anyone desiring ministry, here is some advice. Don’t not unequally yoke yourselves. Man or woman, the person you chose to marry will make or break your future ministry opportunities.

    He or she can be the compliment or stumbling block to your future aspirations in ministry. So be very cautious in your choosing.
