1 Timothy 4

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

11 These things command and teach.

12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

11-14 Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use.

15-16 Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don’t be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation.

Acquiring and Developing through His Word
Don’t stray from what God has called you to.
Life has a lot of diversions. We must stay focused on the real purpose of living for God. It’s nit what can I get but it’s what can I give who can I reach..
Am I continueing to use the gifts God has placed in my life daily or do I leave my post for a brief moment. Have I immersed myself completely into your work Lord or do I just splash around in hopes of appearing as if I’m fully concentrating on seeking first the Kingdom. I pray as life gets continually changed that my grip my consecration does not diminish but will be saturated fully immersed in your work leading by example in Jesus name. Lord guard my character that it always reflects You and when I fail help me quickly to repent and pray that I’ve nit caused someone else to stumble or question my integrity. In Jesus name.

It is a good testimony for Christians to give thanks for meals when in the presence of unsaved people. The blessing should not be showy or long but neither should we try to conceal the fact that we are thanking God for our food.

  3. Wow, what a revealing chapter….stay clear of those who have lost their capacity for truth. Verse 6 MSG says “You’ve been raised on the Message of the faith and have followed sound teaching. Now pass on this counsel to the followers of Jesus there, and you’ll be a good servant of Jesus.” Stay focused on what you have been called to do and do not allow anything/anyone to divert you from that. We spoke of Paul this past Sunday in Sunday School and how he shook his raiment and moved on. We too must shake ourselves from any untruth and continue to get the word (truth) out.

  4. Don’t let anyone make fun of you, just because you are young. Set an example for other followers by what you say and do, as well as by your love, faith, and purity.
    1 Timothy 4:12 CEV

It doesn’t matter what people say or in how they make you feel, because you’re living your life as a Christian. it’s in how you respond through hardships , mockery. Continue to live your life as a Christian, just make sure to live it bright, and live it loud!!!! Your voice must be louder than the voice of the enemy!
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
    Matthew 5:16 KJV

  5. 16. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you. NLT

Living for God is a day-by-day lifestyle. If we go into ‘coast mode’ and don’t do what we know we need to do, it’s easy for the world to start creeping in and lead us away from Him, and any ground lost is harder fought to regain.

  6. Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
    1 Timothy 4:8 NLT

Workout your body and your spirit! We should be an example of how to live because verse 16 continues on how our actions can impact others salvation – we have to show everyone how great and exciting our rewards plan is, ha!

  7. 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Being about our father’s business is what it’s going to take to make it to heaven. Putting our face in God’s word, we block our view from seeing things that are not holy. Lifting up our voice in praise and worship, we drown out the voice of the enemy and words that are not acceptable to God. We must keep ourselves from the things of this world if we are to accomplish the will of the father.

  8. 3-4 [Amp] For the time is coming when [ people] will not tolerate ( endure) sound and wholesome instruction, But, having ears itching [for something pleasing and gratifying], They will gather to themselves one teacher after another to a considerable number, chosen to satisfy their own liking and to foster the errors they hold. [4] And will turn aside from hearing the truth and wander off into myths and man- made fictions. As for me I am going to continually worship and praise God for He is so good. I know truth and that is the word of God nothing else matters.

  9. If you point out these instructions to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, constantly nourished [through study] on the words of the faith and of the good [Christian] doctrine which you have closely followed. But have nothing to do with irreverent folklore and silly myths. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness [keeping yourself spiritually fit]. For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.

This reminds me of hearing cleanliness is next to godliness. Even though it’s not scruptual; there is truth in it. The bible does speak of being spiritually clean. Here it speaks of being cleansed and removing the fake things from your life. To many times people get caught up in folklore; some so strongly that they believe it to be true. I use to: so I know how fake gods can be; idols; anything that isn’t of the one true living God. How naive was I in my youth. God has pulled me from my pit of naivety and lies. He has set my feet on the path to righteousness. Only God knows how to save me. Who am I to judge and curse how God removes the world from me. He knows how and when to put me in a place where only He can speak to me. Thank you Jesus for ordering my life today and leading me to the path of salvation.

  10. 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be
refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

We try to pray before we dive into the word, weather it be the blog or the word of God, it literally blows my mind how even praying before we eat food will sanctify it and praying before we read Gods word its already sanctified, but it helps us to be open to receive it. and to understand it! God calls it meat for a reason, Actual meat supplies alot of benefits to our bodies and also it can be harmful to our body if we dont handle it correctly. if we eat to much, if we dont cook it correctly! How much more does the word of God provide essential nutrients for us, like Faith, Knowledge, Growth, Relationship we with God, Understanding, but it can also have an adverse effect, if we dont read it, if we dont study it, if we dont beleive it, we wont have the Faith th o make it. we are not have the relationship and we wont know who God is, we wont have strength, we wont have knowledge, or understanding, I’m learning that the word of God is not a book that is just a book. its alive, God instructs us th rough his word, he guides us, and he even uses his word as confermation, he is such an awesome God that loves us, and will be continue to love us even though we fall short!

  11. If you explain these things to the brothers and sisters, Timothy, you will be a worthy servant of Christ Jesus, one who is nourished by the message of faith and the good teaching you have followed. Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers. Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. Until I get there, focus on reading the Scriptures to the church, encouraging the believers, and teaching them. Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.

  12. 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Who you are listening to is very important. There is a voice that it’s purpose is to lie and lure you away from the truth. Yet there is a even powerful voice that is able to sustain you. One may be louder than the other but regardless of the volume when you are His sheep you will know His voice.

Father cause my ears to follow after your voice even in distracting times.

  13. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

I just wanna look at this word wholly real quick it means – to the full or entire extent: completely.
This life we were called into we must be wholly in it. Whole hearted no half full half empty lifestyles were either in or out. Do we wanna be a church that attracts the lost yes but we wanna do it by being a good Christian and not dressing and acting like fools in public.

  14. “The Spirit makes it clear that as time goes on, some are going to give up on the faith and chase after demonic illusions put forth by professional liars. These liars have lied so well and for so long that they’ve lost their capacity for truth. They will tell you not to get married. They’ll tell you not to eat this or that food—perfectly good food God created to be eaten heartily and with thanksgiving by believers who know better! Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks. Nothing is to be sneered at and thrown out. God’s Word and our prayers make every item in creation holy.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:1-5‬ ‭MSG‬‬

No spiritual flabbiness. We have to study and read all the time. The only way for us to get strong and God is for us to exercise our faith. We must follow his word and do it it says at all costs.

  15. 7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

With the world spinning so much time focused on everything on the outer parts of man, pleasures and whatnot it is no that’s crucial that we deal with our inner Man. If one thing I’ve learned about personal growth is that whenever you grow inside you feel more complete. With all the riches of this world and people that are in great positions of authority are still miserable but a man that is spiritually developed is fulfilled.

  16. 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Whether we realize it or not we are an example to people around us. We don’t realize how much people could be watching us or when you could be a testimony of your faith by your actions. Wherever you are, let the Holy Spirit work through you and guide in your actions.

  17. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee

Not only heeding our words but also our actions!!! We can be a blessing or we could be not so much of a blessing………

  18. FIRST THE KINGDOM

8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

This is it. When we put first the kingdom of God, it has more gain than anything else. Because we are eternal beings, we must seek after eternal things. What is physical and of this world will pass away. Now that’s not to say to not live a healthy and successful life, however if we put the things of this world first. Our priorities are messed up. Seek ye First the Kingdom of God.

  19. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come. 9 This is a faithful and trustworthy saying worthy of full acceptance and approval. 10 It is for this that we labor and strive [often called to account], because we have fixed our [confident] hope on the living God, who is the [b]Savior of all people, especially of those who believe [in Him, recognize Him as the Son of God, and accept Him as Savior and Lord]. (AMP)

In this day and hour we are living in, the more spiritual training we do or have (praying, fasting, reading the word, and in all things praising And worshipping God), the more we seek first the kingdom, the more that every attack on us, our families, our church family, and most of all our Pastor, we begin to overcome every demon in Hell. Because the more that we bind in unity nothing shall separate us from the love of God. Romans 8 states it very clearly:

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We are more than conquerors and we have the ability to overcome every enemy that tries to attack. Remember the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through the pulling down the strongholds. Real life experience is good but real life prayer experience is even better when it comes to battling the enemy. Again we need to be reminded that our physical training only gets us so far, it’s the spiritual training that will get us to our eternal reward.

    Ephesians 6:10-18 states-
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

    18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

It’s time we buy into the Pastor’s vision for this year and seek first the kingdom. Then we will be rewarded for our labor and we will see the fruits come to fruition.

    I love the Kingdom!

  20. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
The good thing that God has started in us, he will finish. Nevertheless, we have an obligation to continue in our rightousness if we what to holdfast to our salvation.

  21. iLove the Kingdom
1Timothy 4:6  If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ

It’s one thing to be a minister of Jesus Christ, but it is an entire different thing to actually be a “good” minister. So, what gives? What is it that separates the good from the “not so good?” Well, right here in today’s blog we find the answer. A good minister will remind the brethren (according to 1Timothy 4:6) of the truth. A good minister will be nourished up in the words of faith and good doctrine. A good minister will not allow false doctrine to be rooted in the local assembly. Paul names some of the false doctrines being taught. There were certain of the Jews that were trying to get the Gentiles to follow the Jewish dietary system of no pork on the ole fork and Paul breaks it down to these folks in verse #4 that “every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving…” Other folks were teaching it was wrong to get married and Paul basically says, “The devil is a lie” in verse #3. (The Catholic Church picked up this lie from the devil and the Catholic Priests are still to this day forbidden to marry. This is one of the many doctrines of the devil that the Catholic Church still follow).

A good minister is not ashamed of the truth. A good minister will not allow false doctrine to flourish in the congregation regardless of the consequences. A good minister will know sound doctrine and will challenge any who teach contrary to that sound doctrine. A good minister will not be “seduced” by falsehood no matter how it is presented. A good minister will always ask one of the greatest questions I’ve ever heard, “Hey, where’s that in the Bible?”

    Be Great! Be Real! Behave!

  22. 1 Timothy 4:12 (cev)
“Don’t let anyone make fun of you, just because you are young. Set an example for other followers by what you say and do, as well as by your love, faith, and purity.”

“Set an example” for others, be a Leader!
Be careful of what you say and do, have love for one another, have faith in God, and be pure – live a life that is holy before God.
Remember: everywhere we go, people are watching us, so “Set an example” of how to live for God.

  23. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Heed – to have or hold upon, apply, to observe, attend to
    to give attention to
to hold towards, hold forth, present
    to check

In order to reach others we must first be leading ourselves. Meaning checking our spirit daily, and applying the doctrine continually.

When people hear us speak, they should be hearing truth. When they see us, they should be seeing faithfulness to the doctrine.

  24. I Timothy 4:12-16 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, and conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the council of elders. Mediitate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Be an example for believers in conversation (conduct), charity(love for all),spirit(proper attitude),faith(Trusting God in good and bad times),and in purity(sexual purity and integrity of life).

    We must be an Example!
    First the KINGDOM

  25. 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Paul knew what it was to have a dead, burned conscience. Before he surrendered his life to Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus, he felt completely justified in his persecution of Christians and hatred of Jesus. He could feel justified because his conscience was seared and needed a wake-up call – which the Lord graciously provided.

  26. Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. (MSG)

DAILY!!! Discipling ourselves is hard to do. It’s not something that just develops over night but takes time. Discipline requires self motivation. If you can’t motivate yourself, how are we going to motivate others. This is something that I have worked with in myself to discipline myself. No one can do things for me, someone else can’t study the bible for myself, pray for me, etc. I have to work for what I want!!!! We might not see the results we are putting in ourselves right away but we will sure see the fruit with time.

  27. “Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don’t be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:15-16‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Let others see the change in you, be a living testimony! When I look back at old me to now I see a huge difference and others have seen and commented on it. Though some like to test me like old me isn’t still there, I hold strong to the doctrine and let people witness my testimony. Sometimes your life change is what leads others even your own family to God.

  28. 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Let’s follow God’s word and not our feelings. The heart is deceitful; there will be times when Jesus will ask us to do things we do not want to do. We have to guide our heart with the Word and obey Him.

  29. 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Stay on course, read the word & blog daily, continue in prayer! Don’t the times we live in get you off the path. Keep your eyes on the prize.

  30. 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

    Finish what you started!

It’s unfortunate that when the change of gears from just talking about it, into action by demonstrating what you are talking of, many fall off and decide not to do it. Rather due to fear of failure, laziness, and sometimes just straight disobedience.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

In those tough times when it’s easier to throw in the towel and quit, is the best time for God to do His best work.

Don’t neglect the opportunity to develop the prophecy on your life.
    Don’t give up.
    Don’t quit.

    Keep Seeking. Keep Worshiping.

  31. AMP 15 Practice and work hard on these things; be absorbed in them [completely occupied in your ministry], so that your progress will be evident to all. 16 Pay close attention to yourself [concentrate on your personal development] and to your teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.

God did not impart to us His Spirit for it to lay dormant within His people. No, He instructs us to pay attention to the gifts we have been given, It will be evident to all if we are honing the gifts God has given us or if we are haphazardly wasting them.

God help me in this new year to seek FIRST the Kingdom by developing your Spirit in me.

  32. “…train yourself to be godly. Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
…Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them.”
    1 Timothy 4:7‭-‬8‭, ‬11 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/1ti.4.7-11.NLT

The fact that we must “train” ourselves to be godly, devout, and morally good means that it doesn’t come naturally. We must learn and consistently exercise godliness in our lives like athletes training for the Olympics. Day after day, we have to practice what is right and deny ourselves anything that would hinder our progress. Training is a continual, lifetime program of study, study, study, apply, apply, apply, and exercise, exercise, exercise. We must be committed…devoted…to becoming like our Savior and to helping others do the same.

    1 TIMOTHY 4:7‭-‬8 AMP

We fight the world everyday. If we are not spiritually trained we will not be ready for every weapon this world tries to use. Temptation, anger, vanity, idolatry, sorrow, depression, anxiety, hurt, anything and everything can be turned against us. The devil even uses God’s word against us. If we are not spiritually strong we will become weak to these things.

  37. 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

We teach children and youth to reach their friends and family with the Gospel. They aren’t too young to evangelize. Instead they can be examples to others, young and old, of what living for the gospel is about. Many will fall away as we approach the coming of Christ. The young are watching us and we don’t want to cause them stumble by our downfalls, but show them the foundation of doctrine upon which we stand. What will we teach the generation coming after us?

  38. [1Ti 4:8 KJV] 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

Bodily exercise profits for a (little) short time would be a better rendering of this verse. It does not say bodily exercise is not good because there are definite benefits. Yet, when we compare it to eternity, being godly is far greater than any physical blessing. It could also be said like an anonymous FB post, “The advantage of exercising everyday is that you die healthier.” LOL

  39. “Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the word of God and prayer.”(‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

This verse helps us realize every good thing comes from God. We should be grateful and not reject of the good things that God has given us but receive it with thanks. He loves us that much to provide for us. We should be so full of the Word of God and prayed up that we can recognize His goodness and praise him for it.

  41. 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

Spiritual workout. The Word clearly tells us that bodily exercise profits little. It is the exercise of godliness that is a benefit in all things. The fact that it is exercise does not mean that it comes that easy. Not all go work out at the gym but only the ones that are really committed to see a change in lifestyle. If you ask a person that physically exercise they will tell you that it makes them feel better, it improves their health, gives them energy, makes them feel more confident about who they are and how they appear. Now take that and turn it to those that work out godliness, that pray every day, that seek Gods kingdom first, live righteous, seek the face of God and ways to please and know Him, that offer sacrifice of praise, fasting and giving… these I would say are the ones that reap the benefits of a strong faith and lifestyle. The ones that grow in the gifts and fruit of the Spirit.

  42. “Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.”
    ‭‭

Don’t turn away from the real tellers faith

  43. 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Our life’s need to be an example to all! Young and old! We are a living miracle and example to all! Jesus knows that we need to live and walk In the spirit.

  44. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

God wants us all to live a righteous life and stay away from all sin.

  45. “Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’m the last 2 years I have seen many of my friends turn away from the truth. It is sad to see this happen that’s is why we as Christians need to keep our focus on God, be vigilant to His coming as if is the last day everyday.

  46. 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Word to all the young brothers, be an example. Can’t say that I always live true to this, I am blessed to have been brought up in a Apostolic home.

This will not be true to those that establish relationship, because relationship will battle rebellion when it tries to show its ugly face. Fall in love with Jesus, and bring an example will come naturally.

  47. “Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching. Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and the salvation of those who hear you.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:14-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Living for God is building on one thing after another. It’s Glory to Glory and victory to victory. We are ever learning and growing. As we put God first He will reveal His will to us and we will grow in Him. And our growth will be an example to those around us.

  48. 1 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.

Sounds like the times of today. Many are being led away from the truth. Many believing there are different ways to get to heaven. Many believing there is more than one god. Or that Jesus was only a prophet. People are being fooled by others into believing other teachings. Its up to us to teach and show others what the bible actually says.

  49. 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

We must study the word so as not to be lead astray by false teachers and false doctrine.

  50. 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
    2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

I have seen this to a “T”. Many times backsliders will exhibit several if not all these things, as they are given to a reprobate mind, blinded to what they know is truth, and unsure as to what they really believe.
