1 Timothy 6

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

  1. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

    21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

    Paul was instructed Timothy to protect what he had been given, and to avoid those who lead him in a different direction.

    In many areas I see the truth slipping away in people’s lives. As we seek to make His Kingdom FIRST this year, everyday we must guard our heart and our spirit to not allow apostolic doctrine slip away-
    Repentance
    Baptism in Jesus Name
    Necessity for receiving the Holy Ghost and renewing it everyday in our lives
    Putting Gods Word in us
    Love like Jesus loved
    Living a holy, separated lifestyle, pleasing to the Lord and last but not reaching and discipline the lost.

    All of these need to be protected in our lives that we don’t let them slip away

  2. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KINGDOM LIFESTYLE

    6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
    7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
    8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

    The Kingdom of GOD is about a LIFE of FAITH in HIM. It is tempting to fall into the trap of “BLESSINGS” in the name of the Lord. This is where our every choice is about gaining something temporal or of this world/life. GOD has promised through HIS own eternal WORD that HE will supply all of our need according to HIS riches in Glory. I have seen HIM do IT over and over again.

    As I sit here in Hong Kong considering these words, I am reminded that this world is vain and as the preacher said in Ecclesiastes “the world is vanity”. Therefore nothing in this world will last. We must constantly remind ourselves of this fact. Money, fame, positions, and status will not last forever. However, everything we invest in, work for and accomplish for The Kingdom of GOD will be an eternal investment. Filled with eternal blessings and returns.

    It is important to remember that GOD knows what we need. Examine our investments of Time, Talent and Treasure to ensure that we are laying up treasures in our heavenly HOME.

    I do believe it is important to eat and clothe ourselves, however it should not be our motive and purpose for working and living in this world.

    Did we Pray today, Read our BIBLE today, Reach for a lost soul today?

    Lets GO and remember to always Seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD.

  3. Church let’s be rich……Rich in good works!

    18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

    Great preaching tonight Brother Morgan!

    • Brittany what a great example I see in how you are trying to grow daily . You
      receive instruction with an open heart. I pray that as you grow in Godliness your life will bring family and coworkers into this new life in Christ you have found. Keep reading the word daily and share with others what God is showing you. Thank you for your friendship and love for the Word .

      3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

  6. Verses 11-12 MSG “But you, Timothy, man of God: Run for your life from all this. Pursue a righteous life—a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. Seize the eternal life, the life you were called to, the life you so fervently embraced in the presence of so many witnesses.” Run from evil and pursue Jesus in every aspect of your life. We must hold onto the promise and remain focused on…. First The Kingdom. As the song “I Will Run” says:

    So I will run
    Forever I will run
    Unto You oh God
    And now You have my heart
    So I will I will run
    Forever I will run
    Run to You oh God
    Where else can I go
    Forever I will run

  7. 6:7
    “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”

    There are three times in life when we have empty hands at birth, at the time we come to Jesus, and at death.this verse reminds us the fisprst and the last. We brought nothing into the world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out.

  8. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
    1 Timothy 6:11‭-‬12 KJV

    ‘Fight the good fight of faith!’
    It truly is the only way to live! Keep your eyes on Jesus, don’t look to the left nor to the right. Jesus is the way, the truth, and tge life….

    Glory to God!!!!

  9. 12. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    Fighting worldly battles gets us worldly victories, but fighting the good fight of faith gets us eternal results…

    2 Timothy 4:
    7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

  10. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

    21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith

    Some people just want to be contentious. There is no need to waste time discussing anything with them as they are not listening anyway. “Do not cast your pearls before the swine”.

  11. 18- (Amp) For the Scripture say’s , You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the gain, and again, The laborer is worthy of his hire. [ Luke 10:7]
    And stay on in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. Let’s get rich working for the kingdom of God . Signs, wonders, miracles in Jesus name ! God knows what we need, And He will supple it for us.
    ” Let’s be labor’s for the Kingdom of God “.

  12. “A devout life does bring wealth, but it’s the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that’s enough.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:6-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    Be happy with what you have, God gives us what we need. So many get upset when God says no or doesn’t answer but if it’s something that is going to disrupt or distract or lead you away from Him then of course you’re not going to get what you asked for. As long as there is a roof over your head, food in your belly and clothes on your back be thankful, some people don’t even have that.

  13. I Timothy 6

    6. Godliness with contentment is great gain.

    Living for God is not about what I’m not doing . There are no rules in living for God when it is a love relationship. Love gives and served because it wants to please the one you love. Godliness is taking in the attributes of God. My dad use to say that I was becoming more like my husband year after year that is because our love for one another joined us we still had our own opinions about certain things yet we were so in Love we became one in mind actions and our heart beat , so be it with our love for God. Godliness becoming one with Him . Godliness with contentment not living a frustrated life because you look different or act differently than world. Coming out from the world. Serving with all our heart and allowing Him to be the center.
    We can become content with what we have. Sometimes not quickly, easily or naturally. Paul says “I have learned to be content” (Philippians 4:12).
    When we began to live a life of contentment life itself looks differently. Your eyes see things they have never seen before your ears hear what they have never heard before the world and it’s lust for so much takes on a different perspective.
    Is it because one is growing naturally older or is it a maturity that God calls us too . Three years ago I found myself without anything and for a season of my life completely shut off from some family members. The loss seemed more than a human mind could perceive. The loss brought me into a closer relationship with God. I had no resources everything I’d ever hoped for had been completely stripped from me. Laying face down on a hard wooden floor is where I learned what contentment was about . Easy no lonely yes hungry yes filled with complete exhaustion helpless . The process of becoming content on the face of adversity and loss. Yet one Day I was awakened by a clear sound the voice of the lover of my soul . He became my contentment He became what I needed I could now do without and become what He wanted it. Nit a sad sob story but a beautiful process or transformation. Pail has spoken to us for weeks about his trials his tribulations where did they bring him to? Godliness with contentment, God help us not to forget where you have brought us from and what You have called us to do. I want to serve without grumbling I want to live with contentment. Let me please You and not worry iwhat others may think in my service to You. Let me continually mature gracefully in Your work . In Jesus name.

    His presence in your life is your hope of becoming the person God calls you to be. Christ in you [is] the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

  14. We have to fight to keep our faith. Try as hard as you can to win that fight. Take hold of eternal life. It is the life you were chosen to have when you confessed your faith in Jesus—that wonderful truth that you spoke so openly and that so many people heard. Before God and Christ Jesus I give you a command. Jesus is the one who confessed that same wonderful truth when he stood before Pontius Pilate. And God is the one who gives life to everything. Now I tell you this: Do what you were commanded to do without fault or blame until the time when our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
    1 Timothy 6:12‭-‬14 ERV

    Trusting only in him , allowing God’s knowledge to overflow and overpower any false knowledge .. First the Kingdom

    1 Timothy 6:5‭-‬8 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/1ti.6.5-8.KJV

    I remember Joe and I was so sressed that we wanted to move, and we wanted to buy our own house, Pastor said God doesn’t care where you live! That impacted me, but through out the last few months we haven’t been comfortable in our APT, we need more room, but God wants us to first be content where we are, consider the situation, we have a car ( some people do not)
    we have a place to lay our head ( there are people who do not) God has been providing and providing, and we have never been without food. But we are focusing on the wrong thing, it’s about being content, knowing that God knows our desires, and we know his, how can we expect everything from him and give him nothing back!
    We are focusing our attention on the wrong thing!

    Roman’s 14:17-18
    For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
    Romans 14:17‭-‬18 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/rom.14.17-18.KJV

    I dont want to be consistently asking God for the wrong thing, I want to ask him for wisdom in reaching souls for his kingdom, I want to ask him for understanding of his word, fresh anointing, forgiveness. My friend use to say, you take care of Gods stuff first, he will take care of yours! Its all about FIRST THE KINGDOM!

  16. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
    12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    We are all in a fight of faith, no matter who it is or what they believe. Eeryone at sometime or another will be fighting for what they believe. Faith is something that is attacked on a daily basis, and those that have the gospel of Christ are no exception, we must continue to stay in this fight and hold firm to the truth and no allow any shortcomings to trip us up. We have what this world needs and it’s worth fighting for

  17. 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

    4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

    We are not suppose to compare ourselves omong ourselves. This would bring more questions than answers and more strife than good. We know them by their works. We can compare each other to the Bible first then to the works that we do. If any one of us is speaking different than the word or Pastors teachings, we are wrong. What is the point of speaking against a word that is already settled in Heaven?? There is no gain because it cannot be changed. With the same importance is to really know the word. How can you agree with something that you don’t know. You could be speaking out of ignorance and against the Word of God and not know it. We have to keep that flame alive Bro Morgan! Without the light of the word it is impossible to see the way. Let us know our word, speak what the Lord speaks and unify ourselves with the body of Christ .

  18. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

    12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    Those are many things that we are commanded to follow after. We stay focused and keep our eyes on the path Jesus has laid down on front of us so we can seek after him and love a life that is pleasing to him.

  19. 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
    18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
Amen.

    Seek ye First the Kingdom

    The more I read the Bible, the more i gain understanding that it is truly about the kingdom of God. A person does need to eat and take care of their family, however we must reach to the lost world. Our mission fields are at our jobs and our schools. We come into contact with thousands of people each day ,as the body of Christ. Yet who have you witnessed too? Are we so caught up in the daily work grin, that we so easily lose focus on the true reason for our existence? To help each other reach the Kingdom of God.
    First the Kingdom

  20. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    “Keep fighting the good fight. Keep letting your light shine.” Its our job, it’s our duty. Ts what we were called to do. Be a light in this world!

  21. 1 Timothy 6:3-5 & 11-12 (nlt)
    3) Some people may contradict our teaching, but these are the wholesome teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. These teachings promote a godly life.
    4) Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions.
    5) These people always cause trouble. Their minds are corrupt, and they have turned their backs on the truth. To them, a show of godliness is just a way to become wealthy.

    11) But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.
    12) Fight the good fight for the faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

    Like Timothy, we should run (flee) from all these evil things.
    from people who contradict the Word of God
    from people who try to teach something different
    from people who have an unhealthy desire to quibble
    from people who stir up arguments
    from people who always cause trouble
    from people with corrupt minds
    from people who have turned their backs on the truth
    from people who think godliness is just a way to become wealthy

    BUT, we are to pursue (follow after)
    Righteousness
    a Godly life
    Faith
    Love
    Perseverance
    Gentleness
    and to Keep Fighting the Good Fight of Faith and Hold On to Eternal Life.

  22. iLove the Kingdom

    6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
    7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
    8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

    Wow, what a great principle to meditate on and live by. The 21st Century that we live in today has made this concept almost foreign to most of us as we live in the land of plenty. Lord open our eyes to the truth of the Gospel and allow us to remember these scriptures whenever we get dissatisfied.

  23. “After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:7-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    What are you chasing?
    Are you chasing his kingdom or are you chasing this kingdom. Are you chasing a life of riches and royalties in this world or riches and royalty for the Kingdom of God. Find what your good at and excel simply for the Kingdoms sake. It’s first the kingdom so let’s get after it for the kingdom!

  24. 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
    18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
    19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

    We need the rich in our churches because the kingdom of God operates on money. The rich cannot live above the law of God but rather must choose to live godly, be ready to give of their time talent and treasure like everyone else. Our salvation and pleasing Him must come first. First the Kingdom.

  25. I Timothy 6:6,7 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

    Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation (conduct) be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

    Phil 4:11 Not that I speak and respect of want for I have learned, and what so ever state I am, there with to be content.

    Contentment Is a lesson learned neither in a classroom nor overnight, but through many practical experiences in life.

  26. “That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭KJV

    Even though this book we read and love is older than anyone we’ve ever known. One thing is that we love it and trust it because everything inside this Bible was inspired by God himself and this scripture says keep this commandment. We don’t need to seperate ourselfs from this word but grow more and more into its depths.

  27. 11 But as for you, O man of God, flee from these things; aim at and pursue righteousness [true goodness, moral conformity to the character of God], godliness [the fear of God], faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness AMP

    Aim At:
    Righteousness
    True Goodness
    Moral Conformity
    Godliness
    Fear of God
    Faith
    Love
    Steadfastness
    Gentleness

    When I was in my teenage years, I went to a youth pastor’s home and we had a very controlled, in a safe environment, Target Practice. Throughout the multiple guns that we shot, I can remember the machine gun, it shot fast and repeatedly. Due to the speed of the shot, I missed the target, many times. However, when I was shooting the smaller more accurate handgun, or heavier shotgun, my aim was more on target.

    I was reminded of this time when I read the verse above; AIM AT.

    We are continually doing and going, but what are we using to hit our target? Are we using the fast and repeatedly approach, where we are just trying to hit the target. We spend all day, hoping to possibly reach our target through our everyday choices if they are in the path of our shots.

    Or are we steadfast, accurate, and aiming to reach your target? Are we passionately seeking righteousness, true goodness, and moral conformity?

    Matt 6:33 tells us that we are to seek FIRST the Kingdom, and his righteousness will be added unto us.

    Although the machine gun was fast and fun, the handgun was steady and accurate, at times to reach certain targets we have to be steadfast and choose accuracy to reach those targets.

  28. “Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. BY DOING THIS they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.”
    1 Timothy 6:17‭-‬19 NLT

    “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
    Matthew 6:19‭-‬21 KJV

    “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.”
    Matthew 19:21 KJV

    “Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.”
    Proverbs 23:4‭-‬5 KJV

    “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
    Luke 6:38 KJV

    Giving is the best way to store up money for an uncertain future. We can never out give God. When we invest our money in God’s Kingdom now, and in loving those who are in need, we store up riches to a heavenly account that will be poured back out on us in our own times of need.

    Riches cannot be trusted. Stock markets crash. Banks close. Companies fold. Economies collapse. Hackers, scammers, and thieves abound, but when you sow in mercy, kindness, and generosity, you reap the same from a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He never runs out, and the best way to insure that we won’t either is to invest in His savings plan of giving.

  29. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

    7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

    Certainly there are many things that we all can be very greatful for, we live in what many would call the land of plenty. We are a generation of people that have become very selfish. I tend to call “what is in it for me generation or the entitlement generation”

    Many now a days really do not understand good ole hard work and earning what you have. I’m very thankful this morning that I’m blessed because I have a roof over my head and food to eat. I also have a God that has blessed me this morning with the ability to rise out of bed and breath in my body. We need to be a generation that seeks first the kingdom of God then every thing that we need will be added to us.

    Hebrews 11 states-
    6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    Philippians 4 states-
    19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

    So with the power of God through the Holy Ghost I can live a godly life with great contempment in this evil wicked world and know that this world is just temporary. Seek God First and live like royalty.

    I love the Kingdom!

  30. “Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

    that you obey this command without wavering. Then no one can find fault with you from now until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:12, 14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Scripture is like a road map to guide us on how to get to our destination. Where we choose to take the road map or not is everyone’s own decision and I pray that we all choose the right direction to go to be with our Lord Jesus.

  31. Determination.

    “But as for you, O man of God, flee from these things; aim at and pursue righteousness [true goodness, moral conformity to the character of God], godliness [the fear of God], faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith [in the conflict with evil]; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and [for which] you made the good confession [of faith] in the presence of many witnesses.”
    ‭‭1 TIMOTHY‬ ‭6:11-12‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    We are called to be different. Instead of pride and riches, we are to pursue after righteousness and godliness. These things are often not valued in this world, but are considered extremely valuable in the eyes of God. So to pursue righteousness and godliness it will take leaving some things behind.

    It will take a fight. A fight of faith. Following God against the flow of this world, isn’t always easy. It takes determination. God calls us to be fighters, but to fight the good fight of faith, a fight where some may lose a battle here and there, but will carry on the fight with great determination until the battle is won.

    Pursue righteousness.
    Pursue godliness.
    Seek FIRST the Kingdom.
    Fight the good fight of faith.
    Be determined!

  32. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

    We can carry nothing out – but we can send ahead eternal blessing and reward through wise use of our resources right now.

  33. But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.
    1 Timothy 6:11‭-‬12 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/1ti.6.11-12.NLT

    We are called to fight for our faith. It is not handed to us. Even us growing in faith comes with a price. We are only given a measure and then from there how we receive what God gives us will determine how big our faith grows. We can trust and rely on God or we can look the other way and be downtrodden. Now I know that’s not necessarily what Paul meant when he said fight the good fight of faith but that’s just what caught me today 🙂

  34. 2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

    3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

    4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

    5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

    Our leaders are willing to sacrifice so much for us. They watch over our souls and are there for us when we are in need. They wants us to make it to Heaven and draw closer to God. We should be grateful to have them in our lives and be willing to help them in whatever they need.

  35. [1Ti 6:6 NLT] 6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.
    Godliness is defined in Strong’s as reverence, respect, and piety toward God. This attitude combined with contentment, which is defined as self-satisfaction, sufficiency, and a perfect condition of life in which no aid or support is needed, is very precious. Being thankful is key to being content. When we are not happy with what we have, we will always look for more. Thankfulness stops the unsatisfied and empty feeling dead in their tracks.

  36. 9But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.

    Great verse for those who play the lottery. They want to get rich overnight. They should save their money, and they would have more than they realize. It becomes an addiction of trying to get rich quickly and they end up having hardly any money. Everybody should be content with their income and live a accordingly.

  38. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

    11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Amen!!

  39. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: i

    We have to guard ourselves from the world and everything that sounds good.

  40. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
    12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    A man that is chasing after the heart of God is following righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness. He us willing to fight for what is right and keep his place in heaven a number one priority.

    I want to align myself to chase after God so hard that there is no question where my loyalty is.

  41. 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

    We are instructed with whom it is beneficial to associate and whom not. It would be wise of us to heed that advice.

    Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”
    1 CORINTHIANS 15:33 AMP
    https://bible.com/bible/1588/1co.15.33.AMP

  42. We must learn to let all other things go that is a hindrance to our walk with God. We can not walk in the light and darkness at the same time. The enemy will do everything he can to deceive you, but our God can help you see the truth.

  43. 18 Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 19 By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life.

    It’s easy to to fall in the pleasure of this life without the HG one of them can be money. Money can satisfy and please your carnality in so many ways but when God blesses us with money (big or small amounts) we should use it for the good. I am teaching my children to always give when we go to church because even when you give everything you have left, God provides a way and blesseds you even more. We have to store up treasure in heaven because that offering, tithe, missionary money, that we give is for the purpose for His Kingdom. Our giving is what makes it possible for the church to be open, to have invitations, to have a website, to have water, supplies, gifts, prizes, chairs, AC, sound, mics, vehicles to pick up souls, gas, instruments, cleaning supplies, etc. We can’t store up our savings in this world but in His Kingdom. With what God is blessing us with is what is bringing souls and growing His Kingdom through our giving!!!!

  44. 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

    We are to study to show ourselves approved, and if we are teaching something other than the doctrine, then either we are in rebellion or we have not studied and are ignorant. Either way we would be wrong.

  45. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
    12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

    Everyday their are distractions that the world will have all around us, from music played in coffee shops to ads on the internet. We are in this world for a brief moment, but we are not of this world. Once we have become a new creation in Christ Jesus, by repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost .. were no longer our own. We become his heirs, witnesses, ambassadors, flames of light in this dark world. The only way we can keep the darkness from dimming our light is to feed the flame with the Word, and evident with the fruits of the spirit. It’s a fight between two kingdoms, one temporal another everlasting. If we continue to fight the fight of faith we will reach our reward. We cannot grow weary in well doing, for in due season we will reap the harvest. The coming or Christ Jesus is near, and we need to work to reach the lost, for the night is coming, when no one can work. Shine on.

  46. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

    I love this verse. I love how it instructs us not only to remind those wealthy amoung us to not get snooty. To remind them that God gave them the money they have and that it belongs to him but it also stands as a reminder to ourselves. I can’t put my trust in money, or an amazing job, or uncertain circumstances because He has given us all we need. He has given us our needs and wants. He orders the steps of a righteous man and in Him, I can enjoy the things he has blessed us with.

    Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

  47. “If you are a slave, you should respect and honor your owner. This will keep people from saying bad things about God and about our teaching. If any of you slaves have owners who are followers, you should show them respect. After all, they are also followers of Christ, and he loves them. So you should serve and help them the best you can. These are the things you must teach and tell the people to do.”
    ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:1-2‬ ‭CEV‬‬

    I realize none of us here are actual slaves to any human being. However, we all have somebody higher than us in the work place that we are accountable to which is why this verse stuck out to me. It’s who we are and how we conduct ourselves in our every day life that is a testament of God’s love, mercy and grace. Don’t let somebody get under your skin so much that you forget to respond to their behavior in a godly manner. Don’t allow the negative ways others treat you to cause people to question why God would allow such foolishness to take place. Instead, let it show the opportunities God brings in every situation we are faced with.

  48. Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6-7‬ NLT)
    Life isn’t living. Life is knowing God.
    So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭8-9‬ NLT)
    What is true joy or hope? Where can it be found? Is it a promise of golden streets? Is it in escaping the fires of hell? No. All things are worthless in view of the surpassing value of simply knowing God and being known by Him. Oh, that I may know Him! To one day
see the Savior who purchased my life by His very own blood, to see the King who suffered to die for a sinner like me…
    He is enough

  49. 1Timothy 6:12
    We need to always keep our eyes and focus on Jesus. He will always be with us in our uncertain times to comfort us and bring us through.

  50. 1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.

    DOCTRINE ……… the are 2 doctrines. The TRUE DOCTRINE and a false doctrine, it doesn’t matter how many there may be , if it’s not THE TRUE DOCTRINE then it is false!!! BLESSED WE ARE!!!

  51. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

    Gods counsel in this matter is to take action. He’s not referring to stay away or to look after, but to run in the opposite direction. When the potential of this kind of temptation shows up, don’t entertain the thought or opportunity, RUN for your life. In this case spiritual life.

  52. But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God].
    1 TIMOTHY 6:6 AMP
    https://bible.com/bible/1588/1ti.6.6.AMP

    Be content, always want more of Christ not from him. Have the confidence in God that he will pull you through to the next level. Our God is a good God and will always provide. I know this verse was directed towards pastors, but we can all benefit from it. Godliness is a way of life not how you make a living. It’s about your faith in what hes going to do in your life not the way you can use him to get your way. Stick to the truth and share it with others in way that is beneficial to the soul not to your pocket. Be content don’t expect something in return because you lead a godly life style. Live this way because you know it’s his will and it’s right.

  53. “If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine and teaching which is in agreement with godliness (personal integrity, upright behavior), he is conceited and woefully ignorant [understanding nothing]. He has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, which produces envy, quarrels, verbal abuse, evil suspicions, and perpetual friction between men who are corrupted in mind and deprived of the truth, who think that godliness is a source of profit [a lucrative, money-making business–withdraw from them].”
    ‭‭1 TIMOTHY‬ ‭6:3-5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    We must hold on to the truth. And we need to be knowledgeable of what voices we are listening to. They must be in agreement with God, the Word and Man of God.

    “Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked [following their advice and example], Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit [down to rest] in the seat of scoffers (ridiculers). But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted [and fed] by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season; Its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers [and comes to maturity].”
    ‭‭PSALM‬ ‭1:1-3‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    “He must hold firmly to the trustworthy word [of God] as it was taught to him, so that he will be able both to give accurate instruction in sound [reliable, error-free] doctrine and to refute those who contradict [it by explaining their error]. For there are many rebellious men who are empty talkers [just windbags] and deceivers; especially those of the circumcision [those Jews who insist that Gentile believers must be circumcised and keep the Law in order to be saved]. They must be silenced, because they are upsetting whole families by teaching things they should not teach for the purpose of dishonest financial gain.”
    ‭‭TITUS‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭AMP‬‬
