2 Timothy 4

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

12 And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.

13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.

14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:

15 Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.

16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.

20 Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

21 Do thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren.

22 The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.

    1) I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
    2) Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

  2. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    Work of an evangelist.

    Go into all the world. Reaching, teaching sharing our testimony and how Jesus will set them free through the power of the Holy Ghost. Simple instructions share what God has done and tell if God’s saving power. Lead them to the cross where God ‘ Power will transform their life.
    He is the source of our strength. In Jesus name.

  3. Verses 1-5 MSG ” I can’t impress this on you too strongly. God is looking over your shoulder. Christ himself is the Judge, with the final say on everyone, living and dead. He is about to break into the open with his rule, so proclaim the Message with intensity; keep on your watch. Challenge, warn, and urge your people. Don’t ever quit. Just keep it simple. You’re going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. They’ll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. But you—keep your eye on what you’re doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God’s servant.” We must stay focused and be alert at all times so that we can fulfill our anointed calling.

  4. It’s a fight, but remember our warfare isn’t carnal but spiritual but mighty thru God to pulling down of strongholds. So keep the faith and push forward forgetting the past hardships…..only remember the victories.

    7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    “Be blessed”……

  5. You take over. I’m about to die, my life an offering on God’s altar. This is the only race worth running. I’ve run hard right to the finish, believed all the way. All that’s left now is the shouting—God’s applause! Depend on it, he’s an honest judge. He’ll do right not only by me, but by everyone eager for his coming.

    My life came to an end 3 years ago; I began my journey as a disciple of God. I’ve got a lot of fight left in me and the race is yet to be run. This I charge myself; to seek after souls, heal the sick, be the light in the darkness for those that are seeking the Kingdom. To be that hand that pulls them from the bottom of the barrel. The one true warrior that God has called the into action. Thank you Jesus for waking me to another day and giving me the heart and mind to fight for Your Kingdom. All is well.

  6. 14. Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm, but the Lord will judge him for what he has done.

    15. Be careful of him, for he fought against everything we said.

    Romans 16:17
    Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. KJV

  7. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
    2 Timothy 4:3‭-‬4 NLT

    This is a slow spiritual suicide and many in the ‘church’ are unaware until they’re no longer there!!
    It begins with touching and tasting the unclean. It may feel right to you for awhile, but as the scriptures says ‘the wages of sin is death.’
    Without truly being submitted to GOD and the man of GOD (Pastor), you ate removing a covering over your life. That is a terrible place to be at!! You become blinded and cold to the truth. We must embrace truth, speak truth, and live truth. And reject ALL lustful desires and unrighteousness.

    They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.
    2 Peter 2:15‭, ‬19‭-‬19‭, ‬21 NLT

    These words may cut like a knife, i’d rather embrace truth than to be deceived!!!

  8. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
    2 Timothy 4:4‭-‬5 KJV

    As I’m reading this it reminds me about a conversation I had with someone Back in 09. The girl and I was talking about the Bible, and she said that she thought the Bible was a fairytale that we tell to either make ourselves feel good, or to scare our kids into being good!
    Its easier to not hear the truth, when they say the truth hurts, they aren’t lying, it is easier to hear it’s ok, God knows your heart! I say to that, yes God knows my heart and he says my heart is deceitful and desperately wicked,

    Jeremiah 17:9
    The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
    Jeremiah 17:9 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.17.9.KJV

    We dont have to have the title to be an evangelist, we are all charged with the task of spreading Gods GOODNESS and telling of all the great and mighty things he has done!
    will I have my heart open to the Truth? How will I know what is True Apostolic Doctrin!? Am I full of the truth or deception, Am I fat from the word I pour into me by reading/studying or am I just a little chunky? Make me fat Lord!

  9. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. They want believe in Gods word but will believe a fairy tale instead of God’s word.

  10. 2Timothy 4:2 (Amp) Herald and preach the Word ! Keep your sense of urgency[ stand by, be at hand and ready]. Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong]. And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and encouraging them, being unflagging and inexhaustible in patience and teaching. We need to keep our minds focus and alert ! Work like a evangelist, fully perform all the duties of your ministry. Like my pastor told last we are anointed .

  11. I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom: Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.

    Remained in him , thank you Jesus for your Word, Lord use me

    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    Look at these three points

    1. Clear mind
    2. Sacrifice
    3. Fulfillment

    Ah man I get like I was close that time let me try again.

    1. Prayer
    2. Sacrifice
    3. Fulfillment

    My brain immediately goes back to Jesus when he was in the Garden tempted by the devil. He was in prayer before he was about to make the sacrifice for the fulfillment of what he was sent to do.

    The way we should operate should be these steps
    Prayer
    Sacrifice
    Fulfillment
    There’s nothing easy about this order of operations but to become strong leaders and grow spiritually it’s how things must be. So seek after God and ask him for his will to be done. That’s prayer, then do whatever it takes for his will to be done, finally make sure his will is fulfilled.
    Let’s go in Jesus name

  13. Preach the word of God. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. 2 Timothy 4:2‭-‬5 NLT
    People want to hear want to hear these days it’s our job to share the ture g Gospel of JESUS Christ this chapter is similar to what pastor preached yesterday God has anointed Timothy, Paul is giving Timothy instructions . Like Timothy at times we can get afraid we not sure how they will react will they reject it or receive it but it’s not our Borden to worry about our job is to preach the gospel we have the power the same power that rose JESUS FROM THE GRAVE LIVE within us
    I Am anointed

  14. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    We all have a call to evangelize and reach the lost. Take every opportunity to speak to someone and share the gospel because regardless of what you may be dealing with, their soul is still at stake.

  15. Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm, but the Lord will judge him for what he has done. Be careful of him, for he fought against everything we said.
    2 Timothy 4:14‭-‬15 NLT

    We will be remembered for what we do, whether it’s supporting God’s efforts and holding up the man of God or not being submissive to the cause and causing discord and contention. Let’s get behind our man of God and get in alignment with what God is doing in this region. Hallelujah!

  16. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    We are to ALWAYS stand up for The Word. We have to be willing to encourage with all long suffering. But we can never compromise the doctrine.

    Today there are too many “Pastors” and “preachers” and other “men of God”, that claim to be men of God, but only want to tell stories, and never give The Word. IF we put the Kingdom first, then we will make sure that we answer with The Word first, and if Jesus permits, we add the story to help explain afterwards, just so that the others can have a better revelation of His Word, not our story.

  17. “But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death. Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.”
    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    The reason why Paul wasn’t afraid to stand alone when everyone else left him except Luke , is because He knew God was with Him. And i believe also that because he also knew the word of God by heart.
    The Bible is full of knowledge for whatever situation we find ourselves in, a confirmation that God is with us.

    Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

    Nehemiah 8:10 Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

    Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

    Exodus 15:2 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!

    Psalm 9:9-10 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

    Isaiah 26: 3-4 Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.

    1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!

    Psalm 32:7-8 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

    Exodus 33:14 My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.

    Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

    Philippians 4:6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

    Psalm 34:4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

    Psalm 27: 1-3 The LORD is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me,it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;though war break out against me,even then I will be confident.

    Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

    Psalm 145: 18-19 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.

    1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

    Isaiah 12:2 Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

  18. 1 Samuel 17:37 New International Version (NIV)

    37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”

    17 ”Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.”

    The God of the old testament, is the God the God of the New teatameny, and He’s still the same God for us now. We must take on His attributes and grow. He is not asking us to always have the strength but He is calling us to endure and be faithful until the end. He is out strength He is our refuge.

  19. 17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

    The lord delivered me from the peril of death. I thought my life was completely over and there was nothing left to give. But the Lord delivered me and sustained me. I’m not a preacher but u want the world to know of Christ s saving power. I want them to know that it is only through Jesus Christ that we are overcomers. How I got over is the song Paul sang . Lord it’s a wonder how I got over. Yet it was the grip of your hand and You stood with me when everyone and everything was gone. I can’t ever give back enough to You for what You have done for me. The Lion of Life will try to devour you destroy you but there is a God who shuts the lions mouth and just as Hw did Daniel He will deliver you so you too can tell the world of Gods deliverance.
    I can’t wsir to see what God is going to continue to do with a body of believers that are growing stronger and stronger in His Word and I am glad to be just a wee part of this fine body. I pray that we all uphold our Angel over POFW
    Pastor and our First Lady. Messages like yesterday only come from the depth of a love for God and God’s people!
    Thank you for leading with so much passion.
    I pray strength….

  20. 1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
    2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    Thank you Jesus for our Pastor. As I read this, my mind goes out to all those who go to churches, and think they are hearing the truth. Our culture as a society has gotten so sensitive about things, that many pastors have decided to ease up on the Gosple. That is a dangerous thought and action. I have grown up in this great doctrine, and I am thankful that God has kept His merciful hand on my life. I thank Him that I have had the privilege to be under two Pastors that have not let up on this Gosple and the principles that are valued.
    For His Kingdom to be First, we must allow the Word of God to penetrate our hearts and allow the Spirit of God to change us.

    First the Kingdom

  21. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
    As believers we need to commit to memory scriptures that support our faith, as well as understanding doctrine that corroborates a rebuke and is necessary for exhortation.

  22. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    It’s not our job for people to respond to the word that we give. We are not called according to the response of people. we are called to preach and teach and love people with the word and allow God to do the rest. There are plenty of people that want and desire to hear this truth just as much as there are people who will reject this truth no matter how much scripture we show. We just need to stay focused with what we’re doing and what God is call us to do.

  23. 1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

    2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    What GOD is saying is spread the word like a fire and don’t stop until you have read the word to all evil personal.

  24. 3 You’re going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy.

    People who prefer easy preaching that does not require much and does not compel us have decided for themselves what is right or wrong, and they seek others to support their notions. These folks are concerned with what feels good or comfortable, not with the truth—after all, truth is often uncomfortable. Paul’s warning is that the church would one day contain those who only opened their ears to those who make them feel good. We cannot allow the comfort level of the congregation to take priority over preaching the Truth. The fear of offending people’s sensibilities can never overrule the voice and instruction of God.

  25. I Timothy 4:2,3 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

    Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. I Tim.4:13

  26. 2 Timothy 4:3-5 (nlt)
    3) For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.
    4) They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
    5) But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

    “For a time is coming,” and that time is here. There are a lot of people today who no longer want to listen to sound and wholesome teaching, the Truth. They even reject it. But we must remember, there are still some who do want to know the Truth and be saved, so we must keep telling others the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and fulfill the ministry He has given us to do.

  27. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    THE PAINFUL PERILS OF MINISTRY

    9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

    In the closing remarks of the Elder Paul to his son in the Gospel Timothy, we are privileged an unclose look at THE PAINFUL PERILS OF MINISTRY. Carnal people look at Ministry as a simple, painless responsibility. However to be a true Kingdom purposed Minister the will be painful situations that occur in our lives, because we open ourselves to serve people. The apostle Paul shares some of his current pains.

    1. He is lonely (vs. 9)
    2. He has been forsaken by a backslider (vs. 10)
    3. He sent a Minister to another location (vs. 12)
    4. He left resources in a previous location (vs. 13)
    5. He faced opposition to the Ministry of the WORD (vs. 14)
    6. He teaches us how to deal with opposition (vs. 14) “The Lord reward him”
    7. He warned Timothy of potential perils (vs 15)

    I can testify that all of these are true and valid perils in a Ministers life even to today. Please remember to pray for your Pastor and family. We deeply and sincerely appreciate your support and prayer.

  28. iLove the Kingdom

    2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    This is a popular scripture preachers like to use for the young ministers coming up in the gospel, so I thought I’d dig in and get the great hidden mystery revelation from the original greek language…

    The word “preach” simply means
    κηρύσσω
    kērussō
    kay-roos’-so
    Of uncertain affinity; to herald (as a public crier), especially divine truth (the gospel): – preach (-er), proclaim, publish.

    Well, to start off, preaching is more than just stepping into the pulpit and yelling at folks…preaching includes stepping into the public square and yelling at folks…

    Now let’s focus on the next couple of words, “be instant”.
    This word should prove to us that they had microwaves, fastfood joints, instant coffee, and instant oatmeal back in the Apostle’s days.

    The words be instant basically means to “be at hand”. That means to be available. To be there ready to go.

    Now these next set of words is where the rubber hits the proverbial road… “in season and out of season”.

    This is the boomshakalaka! The words “in season” and “out of season” simply mean “when it’s convenient and when it is not convenient”.

    Leaders, how can we be obedient to the scriptures if we are not ready at all times. God has many opportunities he wants to give us, but many folks are not “at hand” to receive them.

    • 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

      Just a brief breakdown of the rest of the verse includes these words (which I believe are in the correct order)

      Reprove= This means to reveal a fault.
      Rebuke= This means to forbid a fault.
      Exhort= Help folks repent from the fault and draw near to God.

      How can young preachers do this if they are caught in the same “fault?”

  29. From this passage I learned that we have to evangelize to the lost.
    5 But watch thou in all things,’endure efflictions , do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
    By evangelizing we can do outreach, give our flyers/ invitations , ministrier to our schools, jobs the grocery store and many others. Be strong in the Lord and he will lift you up! Lear’s go evangelise POFW!

  30. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    We must keep ourselves in the word so that we too will not be deceived and begin to believe a lie. Mainly for our spiritual well -being but also for our lives in the natural word as truth is now fiction and fiction is now truth in the minds of so many.

  31. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    That is the ultimate goal, to say that I’ve finished my course and that I’ve done the work that God has had me to do and that I’ve kept the faith.

  32. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    This chapter shows that if we do want to hear God’s word, God is doing something wonderful in us. Left to ourselves, we would rather do it our way, but God changes our heart in wonderful ways, giving us a desire for His word.

  33. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    We know evangelist as men and women of the gospel who travel from church to church preaching Revivals. However, the definition is “A person who coverts others by public preaching.”

    All of us should be evangelist. Our goal and purpose everyday to convert people to the truth of the gospel by teaching/preaching to them Jesus Christ and His death, burial and resurrection.

  34. “But as for you, be clear-headed in every situation [stay calm and cool and steady], endure every hardship [without flinching], do the work of an evangelist, fulfill [the duties of] your ministry.”
    ‭‭2 TIMOTHY‬ ‭4:5‬ ‭AMP‬‬
    Lord, help me to live by this Word. That you would recall it to my mind in every situation. I’m grateful for the power you have given to us. Now help us to apply it and fulfill our ministry.

  35. “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:3-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    People are not all seeking the truth. Some want truth and some just want what makes them feel good. We are to stand firm. Face adversity from all sides. Speak the truth in love and God will give the increase. Thank you Jesus for being with us each step of the way because you will never leave or forsake us. You stick closer than a brother and you are our ever present help. Thank you for being our light, our hope, and our salvation.

  36. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    Thus scripture was some of the first ones I learned from my pastor when I first began the ministry. In my new endeavor of wanting to be a preacher, pastor, Evangelist, and a teacher of the doctrine I had to learn so much. I found out that wanting to be those things and be used of God, was going to mean that the pulpit was the last place that I would be. Some of the first was the church bathrooms, the church vacuum cleaner, the church lawn mower, the church vans, and the streets of our city with the surrounding areas. I found out what it meant to be instant in season and out when you and one other were doing out reach when the others didn’t show up. As a minister of the Gospel, we are going to endure afflictions and we are going to have rejections, but that is all apart of evangelism in the day and hour we are living in. What if Jesus decided after being beat and battered, he didn’t want to take the walk with the cross up Golgotha. We have to keep pushing until the trumpet sounds.

    Thank you Pastor Watts for reminding me to take a deep look inside myself to find out what I have.

    When I was younger playing football, our defense coach always told us you keep tackling and going for the football until the whistle is blown. Many of the Christians today think we are safe because we have been baptized, filled with the Holy Ghost, and spoke in tongues but we have to keep pushing and striving for the kingdom of God, seeking it first until we hear that trumpet blast.

    I love the Kingdom!

  37. The work

    5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    Without a minister working and doing the will of God he is unworthy of the title Minister. You can just lay around and say that if it be Gods will then it will come to pass. God has chosen us to DO his will.
    The only way to validate a ministry is to DO it. If you can’t do the work of an evangelist first, you will never be one. No one will trust a minister without s limp, meaning seeing you preserver through the tough times and stay strong in the Lord is what validates you as not only a Minister but a Christian.

  38. 2 Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

    Be Prepared “whether the time is favorable or not”
    PATIENTLY CORRECT
    Encourage Your People

    Three character traits to be a successful Sunday School Teacher.

    As the verse begins we are to preach the word of God, it doesn’t say to a certain age or group.

    1) Be Prepared
    To share the Gospel it is best to KNOW the gospel, specifically your lesson. There are some weeks that are truly unfavorable in trying to prepare, but we prepare regardless.

    2) Patiently Correct
    If you’ve ever worked with children, you know correcting an undesired behavior is inevitable, there is always at least one who will need a reminder correct behavior.

    In correcting it is best to look at the example Jesus Christ gives us.

    Luke 9:46-48 (KJV)
    “Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him, And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.”

    He saw the problem, thought of it, exampled it, and then explained it.

    Unfortunately, there are times in the hustle we just want to jump straight to the explaining to them why they are wrong. Yet, we have to ensure we are demonstrating the correct behavior as well.

    If we patiently correct, we will not only have a better relationship with our students, we will be able to better reach them to share the gospel with them.

    3) Encourage Your People
    Encourage. Encourage. Encourage.

    This is a harsh world. Harsh words, harsh music, and even harsh video games. We all need encouragement. Look for the small things and encourage them, see the big things and encourage that. We shouldn’t let a class go by without encouraging them.

    1 Thess 5:11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

  39. preach the word [as an official messenger]; be ready when the time is right and even when it is not [keep your sense of urgency, whether the opportunity seems favorable or unfavorable, whether convenient or inconvenient, whether welcome or unwelcome]; correct [those who err in doctrine or behavior], warn [those who sin], exhort and encourage [those who are growing toward spiritual maturity], with inexhaustible patience and [faithful] teaching.
    2 TIMOTHY 4:2 AMP
    I really like the Amplified Bible’s rendering of this verse! First, it says we are official Messengers. We have been entrusted with the truth and must feel obligated and honored to share this soul saving gospel! Woe is us if we preach not the gospel. We have been commissioned by God (Go ye therefore and teach all nations… ). We are laborers with God and have been empowered by Him (Acts 1:8) to bear witness to the truth. We have been sent by Him and given Jesus’ blessing because we are speaking the same message as the apostles did: As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
    John 17:18‭, ‬20 KJV
    Next, the verse states we should have a sense of urgency in telling others whether it is convenient or not. Lord help me to get that back for time is short! Next, the verse says to correct, whether in doctrine (which is often stated by Jesus and the apostles) or behavior. Then it says to warn sinners and finally, encourage those who are moving forward and growing spiritually. That about covers everyone all wrapped up in one valuable verse!

  40. “For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.”
    2 Timothy 4:10 KJV

    “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”
    1 Corinthians 10:12 KJV

    “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
    1 John 2:15 KJV

    “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.”
    Hebrews 6:4‭-‬6 KJV

    We must be careful what we love. Demas was with the Apostle Paul when he wrote the letters to the Philippians and to the Colossians. He was part of the inner circle of friends and fellow workers that Paul mentioned in his letters. He was close, learning the truths that Paul taught firsthand.

    However, while Paul was teaching separation from the world, loving others, loving God, and living only for the Kingdom, something in Demas was looking out the window at all he was missing. Something in him was turned inward, loving himself, and desiring what this world could offer him. He began to lust after, and eventually fell in love with the world. He forsook Paul, his post, his fellow believers, his first love, and his commitment to God in order to pursue a world that cared nothing for him. He chose this present life over the promise of eternity with God.

    What are we focused on? What are we desiring? What do we love? We cannot take for granted that our present church attendance will prevent us from falling. We cannot deceive ourselves into believing that having the Holy Ghost and knowing the truth means we are unshakable, guaranteed to make it. We must guard our hearts, guide them to the proper loves and crucify the improper loves, so that we aren’t enticed as Demas was to forsake what is true and sure for what is tempting and temporary. Our hearts will gravitate toward what our eyes are beholding. We must, therefore, keep our eyes stayed upon God and our hearts fixed on His work.

  41. “But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.”(‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭ASV‬‬)

    What I learned from this verse is that if the Lord stood by Paul and strengthened Paul so that the message through Paul might be fully proclaimed. This tells me with full confidence that “I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.”(Psalms‬ ‭16:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬). The Lord will give us strength to stand firm on his word “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”(Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬) for he alone is our rock and we will not be shaken by the enemy for we can tell the good news of Christ that needs to be fully declared to all the world. God will make sure that we are the head and not the tail and he will deliver us from the hands of the enemy.

    Hallelujah Hallelujah THANK YOU DADDY!!! For your Knowledge and your Wisdom and giving me LIFE !!!

  42. When my life is over let my testimony be:
    7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
    8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

  43. “For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:6-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    As a mother with toddler boys at one point I wanted to get them into tee-ball so they could burn off some energy and work on their coordination. But then I learned at the end of the season EVERY child gets a “participation medal” regardless of effort, skill, or practices missed. When I asked why, the answer I received was “everybody is a winner no matter what, and that’s the message we want to teach these kids.” My mind was blown. Yes, I do realize we’re talking about three and four year olds here, but let’s be honest that’s not life and that’s not the message I want to teach my children. You don’t get straight A’s in school because you slack off, you don’t get to drive a fancy car just because you want to, you don’t live in a fancy house because you walked by and said “hey I want to live there.” No, everything comes with a price, everything is earned and not given. Same concept when it comes to the Kingdom of God. Those who have fought the good fight and finished the race will get to partake in God’s kingdom. Just know, you don’t get a “participation medal” for playing patty cake with God when you feel like it. No, you gotta run the race and fight to the end

  44. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    Exhort with all long suffering and doctrine stood out to me. There are many circumstances where it takes a while for a person to untangle themselves from the world to come into the kingdom of God. These people need the stability of the man of God continually reaching for them and preaching the truth to them. Some folks were never raised up in any type of church and so the Bible is completely unknown to them. Be patient and keep reaching and teaching (Bible study teachers) because when they do understand and receive it, they usually stay put- in the church.

  45. Fulfilling Ministry!

    “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

    But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
    ‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭4:2, 5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    – Preach the word.
    Sounds like a pretty simple commandment but in order to preach the word we must first know the word.

    – Be ready in season and out of season.
    We must be ready at ALL times to reach His people. Not just when we feel like it, not just when it’s convenient, but at ALL times.

    – Convince.
    Are we truly doing are best to pursaude people?

    – Be watchful.
    We must keep our eyes open and our spirit guarded. The enemy is working hard to bring deception, but if we remain prayed up and watchful, he will not prosper.

    – Endure afflictions.
    Many think that the ministry will be one beautiful spiritual experience after another. There is an overflowing amount of blessings when serving God but there are also afflictions to be endured.

    – Do the work of an evangelist.
    When we ask our kids in class what an evangelist is, their answer is “ it’s someone who walks around telling people about Jesus”. And it truly is as simple as that. We must be telling people about Jesus!

    – Fulfill your ministry.
    God has called each of us and given us a purpose. It is now up to us to fulfill that purpose!

  46. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
    5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    God is the same yesterday today and forever he changes not. I think God that we have a pastor that preaches truth and does not back down on anything regarding the word of God.

  47. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    We are all preachers! Jesus has ANOINTED us to preach his word in any season in or out public or not public I am the preacher that can deliver a word to someone in need. There needs need to be met by a willing vessel used by God!

  48. 3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths.

    Sound like the Christianity of today. Many attend these so called nondenominational churches; where there are no standards, no truth, and everything is acceptable. The preacher is careful of his preaching, hoping not to offend, to hurt or step on some toes.

    The good news is, we have our church POFW, that preaches the truth. A Pastor who isn’t afraid to preach the Word, steps on our toes, and tell us they way it is. We have standards to follow, just like your job or household. Thank you POFW!

  49. 5 But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

    For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Tim 1:7

    Being a minister for Gods Kingdom comes with a lot of trials but at the end we have to keep in mind that everything we’re doing is for Him. We can’t disobey Gods will upon our lives because we don’t want to suffer. I prefer to do Gods will and suffer rather than not do His will and be questioned at judgement. What am I going to tell God? “ I was scared Jesus!!”

    He has chosen us for that He has equipped us. If we remain in His spirit He will tell us what to do, what to say, where to go. We have to grow up spiritually be bold and take the Good News everywhere we go without fear!!!

  50. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

    We must keep pushing through till we finish our course. Keep ministering, keep reaching, keep being the light in the darkness, and also produce fruit from the seeds you’ve sown. Continue working for the Kingdom,
    “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
    For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭2:20, 26‬ ‭KJV‬

    We need to do our diligence and stay Kingdom minded. It’s no cake walk and will not be easy but with God as our strength we will make it through to the end. Be blessed

  51. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
    this verse is not just about when we finish our time on earth but it also could mean day by day. when we finish the day turn around and look over the day. look over your actions words and be honest to the question did I do my best, did I fight the good fight today?
    This journey called life is a process its getting up every day working and seeking after God.

  52. ;

    2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    We should no be afraid to speak the Truth or try to compromise it. Not everyone is going to receive but it is our duty to tell it. Tell the world about the Word. The Word that came down the message, love in action.

  53. 1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

    2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

    Keep doing what you are doing for God ,even through the hard times when the devil try’s to intimidate you ,God gave you the power to defeat the devil ,to overcome any obstacle that he try’s to take you down with .

  54. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    All seems easy until we get to the long suffering part…….. we get comfortable and don’t want to pay the price for the best!!! We want the easy things and processes but when we are in a pinch is where we see the difference in the intimacy (relationship), faith (trust) and prayer (communication). Without these we can not say that we know GOD…….. I love you DADDY

  56. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    Stay in prayer, rebuke in the name of Jesus, and by all means protect your eyes and ears always. We are surrounded by this world. We must not fall away to the false doctrine,false teachings, and fantasies that this world tries to push on us. We must push back and stand firm in the truth and be able to stress how important it is to others.

  57. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    16At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.

    17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

    The world has made living Christian easy. Because let’s face it we like easy. Every device that has ever been created has one basic function…to make whatever task it is performing easier for those performing said task. We have grown accustomed quick and easy. From picking food…quick and easy….clothes…low maintenance so you can throw on and go. Ordering groceries online, so we can “save time”. All of these things cost us something, usually more in the long run then if we would have just taken the time to do it ourselves. That mentality has crossed over into our faith and core value belief system.

    Standing and living an apostolic lifestyle is not what many mainstream Christians want to do. Mostly because it’s time consuming and nothing about is quick and easy, but just as quick and easy will cost you more in the world…quick and easy will end up costing you eternal life.

    God help me to stand for your word, even if I’m the only one standing. Keep my eyes fixed on you and truth in my heart. Help me to see the state of perversion this world is in, for what it is so that I won’t fall victim to it. Help me to lead those around me, so that they to may rise above. Remind me often that, standing for your word is worth it even when Im are standing alone. Ground me and give me strength when I grow tired in the fight. Thank you for loving me , revealing the truth to me. Amen

  58. 18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

    I am so glad God has chosen me and put his protection over my life and delivered me from a lot of evil works it reminds me of an old song that I am blessed everyday that I live I am blessed when I wake up in the morning till I lay my head to rest I am blessed Thank you Jesus

  59. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    It makes me want to shout and rejoice! To anyone that love to see Him and loves to exalt His name, to them there is a crown waiting. Keep the Faith! Keep the Faith! Keep the Faith! It may seem hard at times but that’s why we have each other! To encourage one another!! I am anointed! You are anointed!!

  60. 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine

    God gives us all the wisdom, knowledge and understanding that we need to do his will it’s all up to us to search it.

  61. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

    A hurtful good bye by Paul. Paul stayed something very powerful that we should take notice of, and it is the fact that each one of us is running a race, in which your biggest enemy is yourself. And the only way to lose is to quit.

    The only way to win your reward is to finish the course and keep the faith.

    Don’t let anyone running faster than you discourage your progress, don’t let anyone convince you to give up, or stop getting up if you fall.

    You solely determine your outcome!

  62. “I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when he comes to set up his Kingdom

    Someday god will judge the living and the dead
    So be ready
