Titus 1

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, the Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

  1. Verses 1-3 ESV says “Paul, a servant[a] of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began[b] and at the proper time manifested in his word[c] through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior;”. Can we do the same??? Can we be entrusted??? “Your name goes here, a servant of God…….”.

    Matthew 10:22 AMP “And you will be hated by everyone because of [your association with] My name, but it is the one who has patiently persevered and endured to the end who will be saved.”

    Romans 5:3-4 AMP “And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation].”

    2 Peter 1:5-7 AMP “For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, [a]develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding), and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, steadfastness, and in your steadfastness, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly affection, and in your brotherly affection, [develop Christian] love [that is, learn to unselfishly seek the best for others and to do things for their benefit].”

  2. 5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
    6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

    With all of the ambitions we have and dreams that we believe God has given us, God has first called us to put our house in order. Before we do anything outside of our homes we have instruction I keeping things in order for our own private lives. Faithful in little shall be ruler in much it’s the principle that we must continue to keep. No matter how small the task is if we can show God that we are faithful to it then God will grant us much more

  3. 16. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    “The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.”
    – Brennan Manning

    Isaiah 29:13
    Eternal One: These people think they can draw near to Me by saying the right things, by honoring Me with their lips, but their hearts are far away from Me. Their worship of Me consists of man-made traditions learned by rote; it is a meaningless sham. Voice

  4. Titus 1
    5 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

    Romans 12:2
    Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

    Philippians 4:7 New International Version (NIV)
    7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

    Unto the pure…….our world has completely forgotten purity.

    pu·ri·ty
    /ˈpyo͝orədē/Submit
    noun
    freedom from adulteration or contamination.

    We all need a baptism of the mind daily. As we walk into this world of sin our mind must be covered through the power of the Holy Ghost. Driving down the road you pull up beside a car the music blaring words that are horrifying. Walk into peoples homes words of hate spew from their mouths. Yes purity seems to be a forgotten virtue and many times in the life of born again Christians. We must guard our minds our hearts and think upon the good things the precious promise las of God. So be it that into the pure all is pure. This means in conduct and speach..
    WWJD a long forgotten statement if apples in our life daily then purity would be a great portion of our life. Life would once again take on the meaning of Christ Like . Yes even in this world of sin pure can still be a part of our life.
    What am I filling my mind with ?

    Philippians 4:8 King James Version (KJV)

    8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

  5. KINGDOM MINDED:
    This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began. And now at just the right time he has revealed this message, which we announce to everyone. It is by the command of God our Savior that I have been entrusted with this work for him.
    Titus 1:2‭-‬3 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/tit.1.2-3.NLT

    It is true that the word of God is eternal and can lead me to eternal life. Then why is it so hard to stay in His word. It’s the mind; carnal thinking. What do I need this for; why do I have to be the one to go to church; who’s gonna notice if I’m not there. It’s those kind of thoughts that draw people away from the church over time. I was one of those people. I thank God for changing my mind and heart. For renewing me in the spirit. For strengthening me in His word and giving me a Kingdom mind.

    And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
    Romans 12:2‭-‬3 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/rom.12.2-3.KJV

    Through the renewing of our minds; God can begin a good work in us. There has to come a time where the world doesn’t matter. The Kingdom matters and the souls matter. Worldly possessions are just that; worldly. I know for me it’s not a competition to see who has the better things. I give more than you; I have this, that, and the other thing. Who cares; God doesn’t care about that. He cares about your soul; He cares about you personally. Thank you Jesus for giving me a Kingdom mind.

    Some people think that being a elder in the house of God means that they are old, I beleive that to get to elder status you must be seasoned, we have an elder in our church that is young, and our elders they have great responsibility, you can be new to the church and be standing there talking to one and dont know it because that’s not what defines them, they dont glory in position. The same with Our Bishop, He dont walk around like “hello I’m BISHOP Foster, nope, hes a cool type of guy, who makes people laugh, can he be stern, I’m sure he can, he is the watcher of Pastors soul, and Pastor submits to him, And Bishop submits to his leader, they teach us that their position is just that, a position, but they have learned a lot, and went through many a storm while earning this position, but they all have one thing in common, they Submit to God, and his word, and they have a relationship with Jesus and They never move without counsel and without God! I trust My Bishop, Pastor and Elders! Thank you Jesus For Your Ministry in our lives!

  7. Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.
    Titus 1:15‭-‬16 NLT

    Oh God, I pray that Your Spirit moves upon these people. That they are brought to a place where they realize in Truth who You are and that You are alive and well. In Jesus name.

    We are continually warned in the word of GOD not be deceived, to abstain from all appearance of evil, and to live a holy and righteous life that is pleasing to GOD. For some reason once we have been filled with the Holy Ghost there is a constant attraction to the old man. I feel there is little or a lack of prayer, worship, and daily devotion unto the LORD.

    Living a life as a vegan/vegetarian or niether doesn’t make you healthy, it shows discipline. But what is needed is a balance of everything in order to get the nutrients that the body needs in order to function properly. In our walk with Christ is the same. Prayer, fasting, worshipping, reading, etc. Brings balance, and a sensitivity to the moving of the Holy Ghost and obedience to Truth which is the voice of GOD. The LORD is not being deceived your way of living(fleshly desires ‘sin’) is only destroying you.
    I (we)must examine my heart, and see where exactly i stand.
    Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
    Matthew 7:15‭-‬17 KJV

  9. Living by Truth , having that strong belief Faith in God . Standing up for him by the way we live , think, do , act , Love … Pure hearts thank you Jesus i recieve your Word

    Titus 1:9-10, 15-16 NLT

    He must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught; then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching and show those who oppose it where they are wrong. For there are many rebellious people who engage in useless talk and deceive others. This is especially true of those who insist on circumcision for salvation. Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.

  10. 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

    16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    Guard yourself, always put on the armor of God daily to keep you pure in mind and heart. Don’t be fooled by pretty words or distracted by shining “works” because you have some that give a false image and are defiled in their heart, mind, and spirit. “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:13-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  11. Titus 1:1-2 (Amp) Paul , A bond servant of God and an apostle ( a special messenger) of Jesus Christ
    ( the Messiah) stimulate and promote the faith of God’s chosen ones and to lead them on to accurate discernment and recognition of and acquaintance with the Truth which belongs to and harmonizes with and tends to godliness, [2] [ Resting] in hope of eternal [ life] which the ever truthful God Who cannot deceive promised before the world or the ages of time began. Those who endures to the end will be saved for my name sake. Lord I pray that your spirit will moved people were they need to be. In Jesus name.

  12. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    Our words and deeds should be in agreement. So that we do not taint the Gospel. Others are reading our lives and they need to know that we mean what we say and we are saying what we do. We are all striving for perfection. Yet, we cannot be complacent and stop trying to do what is right. Our obedience is the way we live our faith out loud.

  13.  15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
    16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    Do you know God?

    It’s sad to talk to a “christian,” and find out they do not really know what they believe. I was just talking with a coworker, who is a Christian, and they did not know some of the bible stories that I was referring too. We proclaim that we are followers of Christ, yet know very little of His heart beat. We say we love God, but do you know where He wants you to go? We all have , at one point or another, been guilty of professing this, but not really understanding the true value of this. I know my best friend, I know that he does not like cheese, but he loves to play music too God, he is a prayer warrior, and he is a hard worker for the Kingdom of God, yet when we spend time it seems that i find something new out about him. Just as it should be with God. When we spend time with Him, we should find something new out. Whene we read His word. When we pray, and when we fast. Everyone is not on the same level of relationship. Some have been in this their whole lofex while others are just a few months into this. Let us help one another and be strong in the Lord. His Kingdom is First l,in our lives.

  14. 9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

    Our purpose right here here folks! Get the Word and then share the Word!

  15. 8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

    Hospitality….. believing that more of us would love hospitality and serve therein. Glorifying GOD with true hospitality. When I returned to church there were arms wide opened waiting for me (literally) that hug I will never forget!!! Even though the church I attended was lacking in truth I will never forget the embrace of a sister in CHRIST that didnt even know me but showed me love regardless of who I was or how she felt that day. The guests are FIRST PRIORITY, not saying that they are better but we IN the church should be on the lookout for them (guests), to be able to STRETCH TO GLORIFY JESUS (by loving them regardless of how they look and even if we don’t know them) they are guests that GOD has sent us to love. Maybe to even grow the church? HALELUJAH!!!

  16. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

    8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

    I dont believe that this is just for Bishops but for everyone who is involved and work in the church. We should not be selfish, ill-tempered or drinkers. And we should all be hospitable to people that come into church. Loving all people and committed to living a holy lifestyle.

  17. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

    8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

    9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

  18. So our lord Jesus Chris t was the steward of god but he loved helping people out with the hospitality,and lord loved good people not bad and he cryed out to the other people and he was holy that’s why he prayed to the people in jersulem and he was very temprate

  19. 10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

    11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

    God has established an order of authority in several different areas of life. There is an order of authority in our home, in the church, in the workplace, and in the community. God wants us to recognize the places where He has place an order of authority in our lives, and He wants us to submit to that authority

  20. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    We are saved by faith and not by works lest any man should boast. Nevertheless, verse 16 gives us exposure to one of the facets of works, which is that it establishes the veracity of our professed faith in God.

  21. 7For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
    8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
    9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
    13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
    14 Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

  22. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    It is one thing to know of God and another thing to know God. Many people profess to know God, when in reality that only know of Him.

    Many profess Him with their mouth, but deny Him by their works.
    What do you think that God is most interested in, your profession or your works?
    On judgment day, which will God pay more attention to, your profession or your works?

    How do we deny Him by our works?
    By being inconsistent in our walk with God. By saying one thing and doing another.

    Many people are walking in deception because they can “talk the talk”.
    But it is only when our actions match our words that we produce good works and good fruit.

    “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭2:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  23. 8 Rather, he must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must love what is good. He must live wisely and be just. He must live a devout and disciplined life.

    Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, Acts 2:46

    When you invite someone to your home it creates a bond, a friendship, a trust, and open door, love, etc. You can’t be a servant and not love people. You can’t grow a relationship with someone by just seeing them on Sunday but by breaking bread together. As leaders and ministers we have to open our doors and live with the souls. I have learned that you gain a trust , a friendship when you get together. We must discipline ourselves and live for God daily. Just like how we can’t have an intimate relationship with God if we just talk to Him on Sundays but have a daily communication with Him. There is a reward when we speak to the King. We must learn to say no to the flesh and do Gods will.

  24. Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. (‭Titus‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬ NLT)

    To be pure you have to want to be pure. You have to want the change in your life. We are yall born in to sin. But as we grow older we have to WANT to be pure and sinless. We have to live our lives as examples.

    Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good. (‭Titus‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬ NLT)

  25. 10-11 For there are a lot of rebels out there, full of loose, confusing, and deceiving talk. Those who were brought up religious and ought to know better are the worst. They’ve got to be shut up. They’re disrupting entire families with their teaching…

    People who care about the truth understand they are capable of self-deception and surround themselves with accountability. Rebels are people who insist that anybody close to them be submissive and will lie and cheat to protect themselves; all the while posing as a righteous hero. When controlling personalities are stressed, they get relief and a feeling of power by dominating others. We must keep our eyes open to ensure we ourselves are not these rebels and be on the look-out for those around us who might be.

  26. Titus 1:14 Not Giving head to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. 15.Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They Profess that they know God but it works they deny him being a Bonobo, and disobedient, and every good work reprobate.

    Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    Isaiah 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

    We must put First the KINGDOM so we will honor God with our Heart. True worship must begin with a proper reverence for God and His Word.

  27. 10For there are many rebellious people who engage in useless talk and deceive others. This is especially true of those who insist on circumcision for salvation. 11They must be silenced, because they are turning whole families away from the truth by their false teaching. And they do it only for money. (NLT)

    Doing it for the right reasons-
    During my short life walking with God, I have learned to be content with what God has given me. I have found that I can not allow my salvation to become tainted with watered down theology because I wanted to pastor a church with many people or become an evangelist that was popular because I tickled their ears with doctrine that wasn’t truth. Many men and women of God have sold themselves to the world because they wanted power but willing to deny the truth of it. I have seen many say that they are living the truth but when you walk in their churches they are filled with seducing spirits and many of the spirits are those that will cause many to backslide. Can I say is it easier to be alone than to be lost? Or is it easier to just conform to the crowd and lose everything that God has given you and most of all lose out eternal?

    The church in this day and hour we are living in must be a rock and foundation that the gates of Hell will not prevail against it because of sound doctrine and teaching by a pastor who is led by God and the Holy Ghost. We ourselves must be knowledge in order to workout our salvation with guidance and direction from our shepherd and God. Don’t settle for the crowd to just fit in, because you are never alone.

    I love the Kingdom.

  28. “Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.”
    ‭‭Titus‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Everyone says they know God, here Paul has given us a perfect example on how to not be deceive by people who teach false things. They are known by the way they live.
    There is a saying my Mom always says in spanish:
    You can be all dress up and doll up all you want, but show me how clean your house is… if your house is dirty, that’s how truly you are in your life a dirty person.

    2 Corinthians 11:13-15 ESV
    For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.

    Matthew 7:21-23 ESV
    “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

  29. Relationship

    There are reasons that this chapter gives guidelines for how ministers should live and behave. They must have relationship. It’s all about relationship. Relationship with Jesus, family, and others. If someone doesn’t have relationship with Jesus, how are they supposed to lead? If they don’t have relationship with those closest to them, family, how can they help those further away? If they don’t have relationship with others, how will they gather and care for the lost?

    The only way to have and protect your relationship with God, family, and others is to live a life in the world but not of the world. We must separate ourselves from the things of this world while we are gathering souls from its clutches.

  30. 13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

    I have been to a church or two that would fall into this category. No reason or biblical principle behind traditional doings and teaching. No one knows why they do what they do but it seems right so they are all happy to go along to get along. I need to know that I am in the truth. I cannot follow blindly and we don’t have to. This is why our Pastor spends so much time teaching our doctrine and beliefs. We need to know why we are doing what we do. We need to be in the word everyday so that we can all speak the same language and that language is Bible. If we speak the Word we will be all going the same direction. We can all do what the Word says without questioning if we know what it says. Thank you Pastor and Bro Morgan for encouraging us in the Word and being examples of how to follow Christ.

  31. MSG – 1 1-4 I, Paul, am God’s slave and Christ’s agent for promoting the faith among God’s chosen people, getting out the accurate word on God and how to respond rightly to it. My aim is to raise hopes by pointing the way to life without end. This is the life God promised long ago—and he doesn’t break promises! And then when the time was ripe, he went public with his truth. I’ve been entrusted to proclaim this Message by order of our Savior, God himself. Dear Titus, legitimate son in the faith: Receive everything God our Father and Jesus our Savior give you!

    Paul, like us, was entrusted to proclaim truth to everyone and is instructing Titus to receive all God has for him and do the same. Too many of us live way below our privilege of being anointed. Too many are satisfied with just the entrance into the Kingdom – Repentance, Baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost. They stop there thinking that is all there is. However, that is when the work and purpose of the Kingdom come into action – we must proclaim what we receive to others, and disciple them to walk upright before the Lord as believers, following the examples given to us in the Word. Godly character must be alive in us, and we must study, and grow daily in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

  32. 2 This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.

    Confidence is described as the state of feeling certain about something.

    Being certain about the Word of God.
    Certain in the TRUTH of it.

    1 John 2:15 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

    If you lack the confidence or certainty, maybe you should ask yourself who do you love? Do you love the things of the world? Or do you love The King of kings?

  33. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    Scripture tells us we are epistles or letters in 2 Corinthians… 2Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men. What do our actions speak about us?

  34. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    THE KING LIVES

    2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
    3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

    The apostle Paul here declares to Titus, another son in the Gospel that the WORD of GOD is manifested through PREACHING.

    I LOVE PREACHING!
    I AM ANOINTED THROUGH PREACHING!

    We live in a microwave popcorn society, hot fast and short. Tragically this mindset has crept into HIS church. People want short sermons, calm preaching and life lessons instead of yoke destroying anointed preaching. The scripture says “In due Time” the WORD is manifested through PREACHING. Do we realize what HE is saying?

    THE KING LIVES in Preaching!

    Preaching makes the PROMISES of GOD come to LIFE. This is the main reason I cannot miss Church! The KING comes to LIFE in in my needs through PREACHING. Why then would we want a short, shallow sermonette?

    Preach to me the WORD of GOD.

    Next time you are tempted to think that a sermon, message or word from GOD is too long, please remember that HOPE of Eternal LIFE is being manifested to someone through the Preaching.

  35. He must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught; then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching and show those who oppose it where they are wrong.
    Titus 1:9 NLT

    We must have a strong belief in our message or else we will never feel the need to share it with others. If we are not convinced that this Gospel is soul saving, then we won’t be burdened to do anything with it. If we DO have a strong belief in the message we will not only share but we will be able to defend it!

  36. 16 Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.

    Yes, many claim to know God, attend church services, give offerings/tithes, and dress the part, but once they leave the house of God, and go home, a change happens. Many go home and forget about God. They put their Sword down, don’t the Word, jump on social media all day, and not even a prayer throughout the day. We must always keep God’s Word in us, keep his message in us, an keep the fire burning within us.

  37. Titus 1:16, (kjv)
    “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”
    Titus 1:16 (nlt)
    “Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable, and disobedient, and worthless for doing anything good.”

    They profess / claim they know God; but (except for the fact) they deny him in works and by the way they live. I would say this is a case of “Actions speaking louder than words.”

    Yes, we can profess / claim we know God, but do our works and the way we live our lives say something else?

  38. “For there are a lot of rebels out there, full of loose, confusing, and deceiving talk. Those who were brought up religious and ought to know better are the worst. They’ve got to be shut up….”
    ‭‭Titus‬ ‭1:10‬-11 MSG‬‬

    Aside from the typical “backslider” that thinks they know everything once they have turned away from God I believe this is even some that are still in truth but have been deceived. It is those of us that attend leadership meetings, signing leadership covenants, and are responsible to lead others in the church that are responsible for preaching the gospel…of all people, we should know better. We should know what is expected of us but instead we corrupt the truth with meaningless teachings and actions that are dangerous to the church body and those we are reaching out to and instead of leading people to Christ we are leading them away.

    Make sure your actions and words are leading people in the right direction.

  39. “They profess to know God [to recognize and be acquainted with Him], but by their actions they deny and disown Him. They are detestable and disobedient and worthless for good work of any kind.”
    ‭‭TITUS‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭AMP‬‬
    I’m sure we have all heard “actions speak louder than words.” And this scripture definitely proves that. As Christians we can’t say one thing and do another. We must say what we mean and mean what we say. A scripture comes to mind that talks about honoring God with their lips and their hearts being far from Him. We can’t be in the lips service business. It’s all or nothing. It’s seek first ALL Of His Kingdom. Not seeking His Kingdom and my own kingdom from time to time.

  40. “A church leader is a manager of God’s household, so he must live a blameless life. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered; he must not be a heavy drinker, violent, or dishonest with money. Rather, he must enjoy having guests in his home, and he must love what is good. He must live wisely and be just. He must live a devout and disciplined life. He must have a strong belief in the trustworthy message he was taught; then he will be able to encourage others with wholesome teaching and show those who oppose it where they are wrong.”
    ‭‭Titus‬ ‭1:7-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    We hear the same thing today in our leadership that’s taught to us. The instructions seem so simple. That’s how I know it’s of God. Today’s leadership is structured for our understanding but based from the Bible. We could do the very same in our homes, jobs, schools, and that should be the initial goal (to show and teach leadership from Bible basics)
    Saying
    The Word says this
    The Word states here
    The Word will never change

    You could even respond with “I can only tell you what the Word says”
    That would be the safe response

  41. 1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

    These are some of the requirements if anything is to be done in the Kingdom Of GOD, without faith, without serving, without GODLINESS, and without Truth we will get nowhere. This is why GOD has sent us to P.O.F.W. . We can’t just sit in P.O.F.W. and not do something, we have great leadership!!! GOD HAS BLESSED US!!! HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  42. An elder must live a blameless life. He must be faithful to his wife, and his children must be believers who don’t have a reputation for being wild or rebellious.
    Titus 1:6 NLT

    I once heard a preacher say that men are apt to preach/teach against a great many things until their children or their grandchildren do them. I’ve found this to be true. It’s amazing how convictions can change once we are faced with having to accept that our loved ones may be lost.

    Changing convictions relieves us of the obligation of having to speak the hard truth to those we don’t want to offend. It is easier to accept “once saved always saved,” “all roads lead to heaven,” or “all who simply call on Jesus will be saved” than to accept that their blood may be on our hands if we fail to speak the truth to them about what they are doing.

    Paul wanted consistency for the church. He wanted men of conviction to teach the new believers and to example truth to them. Thus, he instructed pastors to choose men who were not likely to change after being appointed—men with fewer temptations to change, such as uncontrolled flesh or unbelieving children. No man was to be appointed to as an elder or deacon who had not already proved himself in his marriage, his home, his community, and his church.

  43. “This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world

    Got doesn’t lie

  44. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    When reading this it is hard to first look inward… I personally first looked around at the world now… how many profess to know God but deny him all 3 times? But then I stopped and looked in and I am no better. How many times A DAY do I remember to put Him first, to BLOG…MANY… UNCOUNTABLE… so repent and put Him first. Focus not on the world around us but to the one who knocks at your door asking for the relationship of a close friend of a bride and groom.

  45. 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; In this verse the hope for eternal life is Pauls future hope of eternity with God. That he wanted his Jewish brothers to desire. Then we have which God that cannot lie , promsie before the world began shows Gods truthful nature.

  46. The bishop should me an example unto all of there members. We should also be respectful and helpful to our elders. If you see one of our elders struggling or dissipointed we probably should help them out, and cheer them up. If an elder asks us to do something we should respect them and do what they ask. Go in faith POFW stay strong!

  47. “They must stop listening to Jewish myths and the commands of people who have turned away from the truth.”
    ‭‭

  48. Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted. Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.
    Titus 1:15-16

    The fruits that we bare tell everything. If we are the pure soil that a seed is planted in we will produce pure fruit and plenty of it. But of we are the soil that has become corrupted and consumed by weeds, trash, and other pollutants then the seed will become worthless.
    Just because you can quote the bible backward and forward does not make you a Christian. Just because you know about God does not mean you know him. You could participate in church ministries and volunteer yourself for up coming events but if you are not living for God in your everyday life all your works become worthless.

  49. “This letter is from Paul, a slave of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ. I have been sent to proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives.”(Titus‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

    Being a slave for God comes with important part of living a holy life and having a strong relationship with Jesus. Paul explains that God choose us to declare faith with the Gospel to the lost.

  50. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    We are not saved by our works, but that doesn’t mean we are let it the “hook.” We have to show Christ threw everything! Actions,speech, and our lives! Jesus knows who we are and we have to show we know who he is! If we do not know him how can we make it t heaven. Our ultimate goal

  51. 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    We cannot be one foot in and one foot out of the church or in our walk with God. It’s not something that can be easily hidden either. Our fruit will identify us for what we are. Talk is cheap and so are titles if we don’t live it. A good name is better than riches (Prv 22:1). To someone who is pure on the inside what comes out of them will also be pure. Just like you cannot grow roses from withered roots. It’s best to use the knowledge that God gives us to build people up and not tear them down. If God lifts us up then we should be encouraging other too.

  52. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    If we don’t know God and really seek him and do his work how can we tell other people about him if we really don’t know him for ourself it’s like explaining something you don’t know anything about.

  53. 16 Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good. (NLT)

    Detestable = Abominable = opposing to God views

    Proverbs 6:16-19
    16 These six things doth the Lordhate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
    A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

    Lord help me to overcome and loathe the things that you so strongly dislike. I only wanna bear fruit and set an example that brings you honor.

  55. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

    8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

    9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

    To be a good witness of the Kingdom, leaders must live a righteous and holy life before men.

  56. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    One could say they know some one but it’s not till you live and share life with that you then truly begin to know some one. You being to say things they say, do things they do and when asked you do things for them. Why? Becuase you have built a relationship. You cant say you know someone and not have any type of relationship.

  57. 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
    16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    Many churches claim to know and love Jesus, but their lives closely resemble the life I lived before Jesus…

  58. 10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers,

    We should stay away from those that would deceive us with lies and fables. We should stay in the word to know when we are being told a lie.

  59. Titus 1
    7) for a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
    8) but a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
    9) Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

  60. v2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

    Paul revealed that when GOD got ready to create mankind, HE well knew that HE would come and rescue us from sin . Romans 5:14

  61. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

    8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

    9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

    Don’t do as the world does, read the word and stay faithful. Don’t back pedal!!!

  62. 10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

    There are wolves dresses in cheap clothing claiming to be your good friend. The truth is that a true friend lays his life for a loved ones.

  63. In this chapter many identifying issues has been explained. Just be sure the motivation of your heart is pure and don’t let your conscious become reprobate.

    “Knock, Ask,Seek”……….

  64. 15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

    16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    The fruits of one’s spirit show’s if they’re of God or not.

  65. 7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
    8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
    9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

    The definition of being in Ministry.

  66. 16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

    Faith and works go hand in hand. Paul said show me your faith and I’ll show you my faith with my works. You can not represent God and without representation. Faith is proven no just confessed. Like Bro Smith says, put some legs on your Faith.
