Hebrews 3

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

  1. 12Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters.f Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. 13You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. 14For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. (NLT)

    The scripture tells us that in the last days that there will be a great falling away before the coming of God. Many will be lovers of themselves more than lovers of God. The scripture also tells us that many will come in the name of the lord and will begin to deceive many. We as a child of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, have to make sure that we guard our hearts and remain faithful to the truth of God’s word to keep pushing forward to the end of the race that is set before us.

    Psalms 119:10-11 states-
    10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

    11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

    When we are ready to throw in the towel and turn away from God, we must remember that where can I go but to the Lord that will guarantee me an eternal rest within glory. Keep pressing toward the high calling of God trying to reach that mark. Love one another and love God.

    I live the kingdom!

  2. Verses 12-15 ERV “So, brothers and sisters, be careful that none of you has the evil thoughts that cause so much doubt that you stop following the living God. But encourage each other every day, while you still have something called “today.[a]” Help each other so that none of you will be fooled by sin and become too hard to change. We have the honor of sharing in all that Christ has if we continue until the end to have the sure faith we had in the beginning. That’s why the Spirit said, “If you hear God’s voice today, don’t be stubborn as in the past when you turned against God.” Once again “Hearing the Voice of God”.

    Matthew 11:15 AMP “He who has ears to hear, let him hear and heed My words.” Same verse ERV “You people who hear me, listen!”. Same verse CEV “If you have ears, pay attention!”.

  3. 3:9
    God was so highly incensed that He decreed that the people should wander in the wilderness for forty years ( Num. 14:33-34 ). Of all the those people who come out of Egypt who were twenty years old or older only two would ever enter the land of Canaan — Caleb and Joshua (Nom. 14:28-30 ).
    It is significant that just as Israel spent forty years in the wilderness ,so the spirit or God dealt with the nation of Israel for approximately forty years after the death of Christ . The nation hardened its heart against the message of Christ . In A.D. 70 Jerusalem was destroyed and the people were scattered among the Gentile Nations .

  4. But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself. For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God. But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.
    Hebrews 3:3‭-‬4‭, ‬6 NLT
    Build our house on the Lord there is nothing I want more then for JESUS to be the center of my house everything belongs to you

  5. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. We must Beleive, to beleive is faith, the reason we walk by faith and not by sight is because we dont see God, or touch him, but we can talk to him, and we can hear him, we can feel his presence! Sometimes it’s hard to grasp this, but faith must be present!
    I am good at procrastinating, tomorrow dont even exist yet, there is no later, I have to live in the now. Lift up my brothers and sisters, be an encouragement, Today!

  6. 16. And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt?

    19. So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest. NLT

    This should be a warning to us who have been led out of sin, and who hear God’s voice both directly and through Pastor and other men of God that minister to us – that we don’t miss out on entering His rest because of rebellion or unbelief.

  7. Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. From what I get; as long as I can trust in God and believe on him. All that Christ has I will share in. So then why is so hard to open my heart all the way for God. Oh right; freedom of choice. 🤔 Then why would I chose this nasty flesh over the spirit. Right, cause I was born carnal. Whatever is pleasing to the flesh; should come before God. Yeah ok, not: First the Kingdom; First the face of God. Seek ye First the Kingdom. I know there is all kinds of good things stored in the Kingdom. I get to share in that with Christ Jesus. I thank you for the Kingdom today Lord.

  8. Hebrews 2-3 [Amp] [ See how] faithful He was to Him Who appointed Him [ Apostle and High Priest]
    as Moses was also faithful in the whole house [ itself] [3] For [ of course ] every house is build and furnished by someone , But the builder of all things and the Furnisher ( of the entire equipment of all
    [things] is God. [ Num.12:7] But not so with My servant Moses; He is entrusted and faithful in all My house. ” Jesus be in the center of my house, For My house will be build on solid foundation of worship and prayer. Thank you Jesus.

  9. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
    15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

    The same sun the hardens clay will also melt wax, the condition of the sun hasn’t changed, it’s the state of what’s under it. We decide whether we will believe or not….when chastisment or rebuke comes we can either harden ourselves or we can hearken to the voice. Ultimately it is up to us on how we react to out God and his message.

  10. You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.
    Hebrews 3:13‭-‬14 NLT

    Unwavering Faith!
    Lord, I pray that our faith in You will remain as steadfast and sure as when we were new born in Your Kingdom and so fired up for You. Let us never lose that passion and flame for You. You are a Faithful, Miraculous God!!

  11. Hebrews 3

    In This for the Long Haul
    6-11 Now, if we can only keep a firm grip on this bold confidence, we’re the house! That’s why the Holy Spirit says,

    Today, please listen;
    don’t turn a deaf ear as in “the bitter uprising,”
    that time of wilderness testing!
    Even though they watched me at work for forty years,
    your ancestors refused to let me do it my way;
    over and over they tried my patience.
    And I was provoked, oh, so provoked!
    I said, “They’ll never keep their minds on God;
    they refuse to walk down my road.”
    Exasperated, I vowed,
    “They’ll never get where they’re going,
    never be able to sit down and rest.”
    12-14 So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God. For as long as it’s still God’s Today, keep each other on your toes so sin doesn’t slow down your reflexes. If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with Christ for the long haul.

    We cannot let anything throw us off course. The long haul is just that. It’s effort and a long time to get there. Heaven is real . God’s promises sure . Don’t give up don’t lose the faith because we are almost there. The kids would ask almost as soon as we would begin to travel any distance “are we there yet?” Our reply would be just a little bit furthereach time they would ask. So we will soon get there just remember it’s just a little bit further. Don’t allow any detour road construction or obstacles and distractions or attractions to get you off course. Stay in for the long haul because it’s just a little bit further.

    Psalms 119
    1-8 You’re blessed when you stay on course,
    walking steadily on the road revealed by God.
    You’re blessed when you follow his directions,
    doing your best to find him.
    That’s right—you don’t go off on your own;
    you walk straight along the road he set.
    You, God, prescribed the right way to live;
    now you expect us to live it.
    Oh, that my steps might be steady,
    keeping to the course you set;
    Then I’d never have any regrets
    in comparing my life with your counsel.
    I thank you for speaking straight from your heart;
    I learn the pattern of your righteous ways.
    I’m going to do what you tell me to do;
    don’t ever walk off and leave me.
    9-16 How can a young person live a clean life?
    By carefully reading the map of your Word.
    I’m single-minded in pursuit of you;
    don’t let me miss the road signs you’ve posted.

  12. The glory is his

    4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

    Although we are the instruments that he uses to build and tear down. He is the architect and master builder. We cannot take credit for his work. We cannot do anything without him. Imagine trying to breath today without the breath he gave to you imagine trying to see today without the light he gave. We love to glory in our own accomplishments but in all truth we cannot take credit for any of it. It is by him that all things consist, including me. I owe him every good thing that I do.

  13. 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

    Unbelief or doubt is the number one killer of a promise. Many people have not gotten to see their promises fulfilled do to unbelief. The children of Isreal,many of which would not enter into the promise land because they did not believe that they could take on the enemies. The promises of God are yea and amen, yet when we allow doubt to come in, we then second guess the voice of God in what he said.
    The Kingdom of God is built on faith and the knowledge that God will fulfill all of His promises. Seek you first the Kingdom and believe on Jesus.

  14. “For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.””
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:14-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Right now I’m thinking of the humility acts that we must do to have this soft heart.
    Submit ourselves and pray
    Submit ourselves and obey
    Submit ourselves and fast
    Submit ourselves and give
    Submit ourselves and read
    These are our Kingdom first acts that says “not my will, but thy will”
    These are all acts that are humble in eyes of God. If you think about it all of these things are things we don’t want to boast about or brag about. Every act of humiliation is cracking off the hard shell around our hearts.
    I can see it happening everyday that I’m in the will of God, and if we can ever get to the point where our heart is fully exposed to the light of God then my oh my I can’t wait to see the blessings of the Lord to come down. It takes discipline to do these acts. So start today and get closer to God.

  15. 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

    The danger of having unbelief will being surrounded by miracles, signs, and wonders! The Israelites provoked God because of there disbelief. The worst part if that is the reality that the church is seeing today. God is withholding his power because of the amount of disbelief.

    That we see his power manifest and it doesn’t provoke our hearts. Be careful to fall into this trap.

  16. “But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Exhorting each other does more than just make your friend feel good , it brings them closer to Jesus. While exhorting you are encouraging those good and holy things that they do. You are drawing them closer to God by showing them that they are listening to his voice.

  17. 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

    1 Timothy 6:10 (KJV)
    10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows

    Just like with money, their trust, and love were in the money and no longer in GOD. Unbelief comes from our own thoughts of I can do that myself, I don’t need GOD, that wasn’t a miracle, there has to be a logical explanation uh NOOOO THE “LOGICAL” EXPLANATION IS THAT GOD IS SO MERCIFUL!!! HE DOESN’T NEED US, WE NEED HIM!!! HOW IS IT LOGICAL THAT HE WOULD SACRIFICE HIMSELF FOR US. …….. I didn’t deserve a chance after all the trash I had done oooohhhh but we want a LOGICAL EXPLANATION……..THANK YOU DADDY FOR LOVING ME SOOO MUCH …….THAT RIGHT THERE I CANNOT COMPREHEND!!! HOW HE LOVES US sooooo HOW CAN I SIT AND ASK FOR A LOGICAL EXPLANATION…………NO WAY……

  18. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

    I’m still standing and I’m not turning back – we need this kind of bold confidence in these last days. We need o be confident and believe we have the power of God and His Kingdom within us. Use us today Lord to release Your power!

  19. Always focused on the spirit , we are able what is truth and what is not . I dont want to deceive myself

    For he was faithful to God, who appointed him, just as Moses served faithfully when he was entrusted with God’s entire house. Moses was certainly faithful in God’s house as a servant. His work was an illustration of the truths God would reveal later. But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ. That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness. There your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years. So I was angry with them, and I said, ‘Their hearts always turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’ So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’” Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God.

  20. 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

    We should be careful not to let unbelief slip into our thoughts as God thinks that to be an evil heart. We must believe God and keep the faith.

  21. 13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

    14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
    We need to be a vessel of encouragement to our fellow believers, to thwart the pitfall of falling into disbelief.

  22. 8 “Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:“

    A rebellious heart is a hard heart. What a great chapter to remind us that we are the building and He is the builder. It is silly for the building to rebell against the one that imagined it created it and loves it.

    A rebellious and unbelieving person is unable to enter into covenate with Him. When in covenants with God we can rest in Him and allow the supernatural to flow through us. Do not allow disobedience to cause you to harden your heart and not enter into the place God has prepared for you.

  23. That new car smell

    14 If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with Christ for the long haul.

    Of all the vehicles I have owed; only two were new. That new car smell was so wonderful, but I cannot remember when it stopped smelling that way. Maybe it was after the first ding in the side panel from another vehicle door in a parking lot or a chip in the paint on the hood from a rock on the highway. Either way, the newness dwindled, and the car just became another vehicle to get to where I wanted to go. It seems our walk with God can get this way too.

    I predict we can all remember the first time we spoke in tongues. For me, the world itself changed. All the promises of God were now at my fingertips, I was a child of God and all I needed to do was believe. I just spoke a Heavenly language – there was no unbelief, I was armed with the entire armor of God and ready for battle. Then a ding in my shield. God was trying to elevate my thinking and I was not ready. Now, I have a battle scar. Years later the shield still works but no longer shines. There are more dents and dings than straight pieces and shiny parts.

    I believe this is where some people give up on God. That new car smell is gone, and the shine and luster of the relationship no longer sparkles. I don’t see it that way. Each dent, ding and blemish on my shield is a reminder of a time where Jesus and I talked about something. Sometimes it was a surprise when that dart hit my shield; other times I seen it coming. Those dents and dings molded me to who I am today. It may not smell like a new car but my shield is priceless in value.

  24. iLove the Kingdom
    Hebrews 3:3  For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

    The book of Hebrews is written to folks who understood the Hebrew culture. They understood the law of Moses and they understood the culture. This is why it is so shocking to hear how much better Jesus is then Moses. In fact, Paul describes Jesus superior to Moses like a builder has more glory then the house itself. Jesus is the Master Builder and in these last days Jesus decided to add a bunch of misfit Gentiles as building stones in His Kingdom. Praise the Lord Church! Look at what God has done with a bunch of nobody’s.

    The key to this scripture is to not trust in the law of Moses, but to start trusting in the laws of the New Testament law of Christ.

  25. “But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.””
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:13-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

    Exhort is to strongly encourage or urge (someone) to do something. We should be encouraging one another and uplifting one another to keep going and keep pursuing God and doing work for the Kingdom. If you hear God’s voice speaking to you it’s best to listen and fight the flesh and do what God is telling you. As pastor Jeff Arnold said you only have a small window of opportunity. Don’t waste that moment that could change yours and someone else’s life.

  26. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    THE CHAOS OF UNBELIEF

    17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
    18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
    19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

    Rest is considered a buzz word in our society. Some mistake its purpose while others misuse its influence. Rest in The Kingdom of GOD can also be defined as PEACE or the absence of chaos in times of tribulation. Trouble or uncomfortable situations does not mandate chaos. Mature disciples are able to maintain PEACE, STABILITY and FAITHFULNESS in times of trouble.

    However, as we learn here in Hebrews 3 chaos or the absence of REST occurs because of UNBELIEF. UNBELIEF that GOD can, GOD will or GOD plans will succeed.

    If there is every any ministry or spiritual failure it is established here that the cause or reason is not the church, the preacher, the people, but the FAITH of the participant. If you have a dream or a promise from GOD that has not been fulfilled, the first look should be our FAITH. Is UNBELIEF evident in any place. If yes, then you know why you continually find yourself in the wilderness.

    UNBELIEF causes dreams, promises and ministries to die in the wilderness. Thereby thrusting the unbeliever into THE CHAOS OF UNBELIEF where there is no spiritual REST, because REST comes through FAITH and TRUST in the authority that we submit to.

    Stop blaming, people and circumstances for your chaos. Accept the fact that your FAITH is weak and Build your FAITH to eliminate UNBELIEF.

  27. 4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

    5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

    6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

    Whose house are we?

    “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
    ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭2:4-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

    Chosen by God, rejected by men. Yet who are we allowing to build our house?

    When we leave the building of our house to the world, it will come in as if it’s renovating to make us into something beautiful. But then it will just put a few holes in our walls and take down the light fixtures, it will remove the furniture and take up the flooring. In the end, it will leave us damaged, empty, and unfinished.

    But when we leave it up to God, the master carpenter, the process may seem the same at first. He’ll be knocking down walls and ripping up flooring. But you see this time, God will be adding rooms and floors, he’s adding a fresh coat of paint. He’s exchanging light fixtures for chandeliers. He’s making you into something beautiful, something lasting. It will not always be a painless process. But unlike the world, He adds value!

    “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭127:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  28. 13 “You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.”

    EVERY DAY.
    There are just some things that are to be done EVERY DAY.

    There are things that are easier to do than others, however, they each have their own value.

    Pray Every Day
    Blog/Read Every Day

    To give a day away is foolish for the time is short.

  29. 10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

    11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

    Hardened hearts against God’s words and ways bring his judgement and we automatically loose his place of rest. I know some who are like this and we must pray their hearts be softened and minds opened so they can receive his word. Bro Shatwell’s Prayer we heard last night can help so many if we utilize it to help them. Strive to enter into his rest!

  30. 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
    16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

    God is speaking are we listening?
    When he speaks don’t harden your heart and say it’s not for me or I’m fine.
    John 12:40
    “He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.”
    ‭‭their eyes were blinded because of there unbelief. Verse 37 he did many but yet they believed not. What else is does God have to do to get us to believe? He saved us turned us around. Healed us done miracles all over but yet so many times we fall short to believe when you speaks.

    Today when God speaks let’s hear and do what he says.

  31. 4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

    Too many people take credit for all they accomplish in this life, but clearly unless the Lord gives them the knowledge, the strength, the capability, nothing will be accomplished.

    God is so wise in creating us and placing within each of us desires and dreams to accomplish, but lest we become proud and boastful, we must always remember where we came from, and who we belong to.

  32. “Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.””
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    God’s voice
    Saturday we learn to listen to His voice, in order to listen to His voice we have to recognize His voice.
    We must be obedient even if we are scared to do what He ask. We might get it wrong like Bro. Arnold said, but that’s how we get to know His voice and put it into action.

    Isaiah 6:8
    Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

  33. “Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,”
    ‭‭HEBREWS‬ ‭3:7‬ ‭AMP‬‬
    Lord, I pray that we would hear and obey your voice. That we would be tender hearted and easily directed by your Spirit. Teach us to release the Kingdom at your command.
    “The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they will never, ever [by any means] perish; and no one will ever snatch them out of My hand.”
    ‭‭JOHN‬ ‭10:27-28‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  34. “But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

    For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end”
    Hebrews 3:6‭, ‬14 KJV

    “And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:”
    Hebrews 6:11 KJV

    “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
    Matthew 24:12‭-‬13 KJV

    “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”
    Timothy 4:6‭-‬7 KJV

    “Finishing is better than starting.”
    Ecclesiastes 7:8a NLT

    “For who were the people who turned a deaf ear? Weren’t they the very ones Moses led out of Egypt? And who was God provoked with for forty years? Wasn’t it those who turned a deaf ear and ended up corpses in the wilderness? And when he swore that they’d never get where they were going, wasn’t he talking to the ones who turned a deaf ear? They never got there because they never listened, never believed.”
    Hebrews 3:15‭-‬19 MSG

    It matters not who starts a race, you must finish it to receive the promised prize. The majority of Israelites, however, never finished their journey to the Promised Land because they “turned a deaf ear…they never listened, never believed.” They didn’t listen to their coach, Moses, so that they could stay on course. They turned a deaf ear to sound instruction. They didn’t believe he was hearing from God for them, didn’t believe the promises were true and the sacrifices were necessary.

    Sin, selfishness, pride, laziness, unbelief, and fear deafened the Israelites ears and hardened their hearts. They wanted comfort and ease now. They wanted the promises of the Promised Land without the humility, patience, and endurance it took to finish the journey. They started well, but somewhere along the way they decided to follow their own lusts and desires rather than the man of God who was proclaiming unto them the Word of God.

    We are in the same danger, made of the same flesh, prone to make the same mistakes. Our Acts 2:38 experience only benefits those of us who actually endure unto the end. The road is long, uphill, and through lands of many giants. We cannot travel it alone, by our own strength or determination. Our understanding is limited; our focus is obscured by our own flesh.

    We need the voice of God to guide us, to keep us on track, to warn us of the obstacles ahead. We need our brothers beside us and a coach to lead the way. We need unity and humility, a listening ear, and an obedient and steadfast heart.

    We’ve started a marathon, and we must finish it; we must be faithful unto the end. We cannot succeed unless we listen to the voice God has sent to guide us and keep a teachable spirit. For, if we close our ears to the Moses in our lives, our hearts will become hardened, sin and unbelief will fill our thoughts, and we will be overthrown in the wilderness that is between us and the Promised Land.

  35. 8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

    9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

    10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

    11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

    The point is clear. As the Holy Spirit speaks, we must hear His voice and not allow our hearts to become hardened. We hear the Spirit speak in the Scriptures, in the heart of His people, in those He draws to salvation, and by His works.

  36. 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

    We are made to worship and praise the one true God. And we will continue to do that until the end of time if we stay true.

    15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
    16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

    Hear your pastor’s voice don’t turn away.

    17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
    18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

    I love the reminder that those that don’t back up your pastor or believe the word of God will die in the meantime waiting to go to Heaven.

    19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

  37. And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
    Hebrews 3:18‭-‬19 NKJV

    This can be a scary thought to not enter in because of unbelief. Yet obedience an antidote and a step of faith against unbelief. Several examples come to mind as when we are asked by the man of God to do something and some just dont move. Why? They simply dont believe it’s from God. They dont believe its a command from God. We are asked to praise, that victory is on our praise and yet people dont see their promise of deliverance. Some may oh but I had faith? Oh but did you obey? If we have faith in the Word(s) then we believe into action.

  38. “So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ””
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:7-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    For forty years the children of Israel witnessed God’s hand in their life time after time, after time, after time and yet they still complained, grumbled, whined, and repeatedly allowed doubt to creep in. For forty years they were kept by God’s grace, fed, clothed, and quenched but again, they always felt they were missing out on something more back in Egypt. Unfortunately, the generation that was led out of Egypt never got to witness what God had prepared for them, never even got a glimpse, instead that promise was passed on to the generation under them.

    Let us not get to a point where we get so used to God’s hand in our life that we start to get hungry for the things of this world. There’s nothing out there for us, our promise is in God and not the things of this earth. Don’t allow your hunger for earthly things to put you in a position where God’s promise for you passes you up, never allowing you to find rest and peace. But instead, hold fast to his word, in everything give thanks, and allow him to keep leading you to your promise.

  39. I Love to worship the Lord
    Vs 15
    But now is the time never forget the warning today if you hear Gods voice speaking to you do not harden your hearts against him
    Wow i really liked this chapter. For my self i could be doing a lot better job listing and react whin the Lord is speaking to me

  40. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

    This is why we need unity in the church. We need each other to be held accountable and to be encouraged.

  41. Hebrews 3:12-14 (msg)
    12) So watch your step, friends. Make sure there’s no evil unbelief lying around that will trip you up and throw you off course, diverting you from the living God.
    13) For as long as it’s still God’s Today, keep each other on your toes so sin doesn’t slow down your reflexes.
    14) If we can only keep our grip on the sure thing we started out with, we’re in this with Christ for the long haul.

    We must make sure that there is no “unbelief” in us that could cause us to trip up or throw us off course. We are in this with Christ for the long haul. We must always have Faith and Trust in Him.

  42. Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart] that turns away from the living God. But continually encourage one another every day, as long as it is called “Today” [and there is an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamour, and sophistication]. For we [believers] have become partakers of Christ [sharing in all that the Messiah has for us], if only we hold firm our newborn confidence [which originally led us to Him] until the end,
    HEBREWS 3:12‭-‬14 AMP

    Stay amped up about Christ remember that first moment you were saved and hold on to it. Make everyday your first time knowing Christ. Stay in your newborn mentality and hold on to it as you gain more faith and knowledge of Christ. Share your experience with every opportunity and talk about your love for Christ with everyone daily.

  43. 6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

  44. You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.
    Hebrews 3:13 NLT
    Here we see 2 effects of sin. First, it deceives the offender into thinking they are okay even if they are violating God’s Word. The second effect has to do with a hardening of the heart. Nobody wants to deal with a hard hearted person. The antidote is to keep your tender before the Lord and He will use your life.

  45. And who did God say would never enter his place of rest? Weren’t they the ones that disobeyed him?
    Hebrews 3:18 CEV

    Rebellion can take you on a journey of your wildest dreams. Sex, money, drugs, free ‘vacation days’, ect. Is that really what one wants?! I’ve been there and done that. It wasn’t a thrill as everyone said it would be. All one is doing is digging your own path into bondage (hell). yesterday someone told me that her father had passed away 3 years,ago. That was a man who had attended ppfw in the south campus. She said her dad loved pofw and respected pastor watts. Until….yes…..he got caught up in sin. I hope he had time to repent

    Let us continue to walk in obedience unto the voice of GOD❤

  46. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

    2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

    3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

  47. God is awesome and god is holy ,Wherefore of the Heavenly Father and the high Priest of our Christ Jesus that was faithful to him also Moses was faithful

  48. That is why the Holy Spirit says, “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested me in the wilderness. So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.
    Hebrews 3:7‭-‬8‭, ‬19 NLT

    If we are not careful it is possible for us to be like the children of Israel. We can see miracles, signs, and wonders. We can hear great sermons and still sit at church like a bump on a log and not believe.

  49. 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

    We cannot enter the kingdom without the same way the Israelite couldn’t enter the promised land, and the Egyptians couldn’t pass the Red Sea. Their is a limit to how far we can go in God’s kingdom without it. If faith the size of a mustard sea can move mountains, then our faith should be ever growing in our relationship with God. Unbelief separates us were faith elevates.

  50. 1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

    2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

    I was thinking how so many people want all the rewards without being faithful to the heavenly calling which I have been guilty of, but I pray that we become faithful to the one that appointed us for we are chosen

  52. “But Jesus deserves far more glory than Moses, just as a person who builds a house deserves more praise than the house itself.”
    ‭‭

  53. 12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

    Today is the day of salvation!!! Today is the day to preach the good news. Let’s us be believers of His great power and not let no one or anything steal our faith. Faith is what moves the mountains and without faith it’s impossible to please God. When we’re going through trials grab a hold of the Word of God and surround yourself around those that are going to lift you up spiritually. We don’t have time to be grieving and acting like babies but holding on to His promises and never stop believing.

    He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

    But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

  54. 4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

    God knows what to do and when to do it! Jesus has built us to grow us and make us into who we need to be!

  55. Hebrews 3:4-6 For every house is builder by some man; but he that built all things is God. And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; But Christ as a son over his own house ; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the end.

    Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

  56. “For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.”(Hebrews‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭NLT)

  57. 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

    13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

    14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

    Examining ourselves every day I believe is a good way to see whether we are growing a heart of unbelief. Are we believing God for the outcome of circumstances in our lives? Are we asking him for help? Are we asking what he wants us to do with our lives? Are we reminding ourselves of the things God has already done for us in our lives? I know for me if I constantly remind myself of how God has blessed me in my life, there is no way I can turn to unbelieve because he has done so many things for me in my life.

  58. 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

    How many times do we encourage our brothers and sisters ??

  59. 16 And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt?

    We are his people, and we to can rebel against God if not careful. We hear his voice, we hear his Word, we hear his music, we hear words of wisdom but yet we still rebel. So yes rebellion does creep into our lives, but we must guard against.
