Hebrews 4

Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  1. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

  2. Verses 8-11 MSG “And so this is still a live promise. It wasn’t canceled at the time of Joshua; otherwise, God wouldn’t keep renewing the appointment for “today.” The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people. God himself is at rest. And at the end of the journey we’ll surely rest with God. So let’s keep at it and eventually arrive at the place of rest, not drop out through some sort of disobedience.” Our obedience and faithfulness is key. We have to know Him; otherwise, we will have no peace.

John 14:27 AMP “Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]”

  3. Seeing therefore some may enter therein and they whom it was first preached again he certain day In David so long a time harden your hearts

There is nothing we can hide from him, he not only sees us and our life, he knew what we were going to do before we thought about doing it. God is exactly who he says he is, he dont have any fronts, he is not afraid to let us know were missing the mark, hes not afraid to show us our short comings, he is not afraid to give us encouragement. He is the Bold, in your face God, who is unashamed. we cant hide from him, we cant lie or deceive him, That is why we have to be bold with our walk, in rejoicing. in praise. in repentance, in prayer, in speaking his word. we cant be wimps, because The Lord Our God is NOT a Wimpy GOD, like those little gods, they are not real. they have no power, GOD IS THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD, HE HAS ALL POWER, HE IS STRONG MIGHTY HOLY. Lord help me to be bold in my prayer, in my worship!

You can’t hide anything from God. All that you say and do He knows. We are as newborn children: naked to God. Ha; watch this. Naked in the Greek is G1113 gongystēs; a grumbling:– grudging, murmuring. So there is nothing hidden from the Almighty. Do people honestly think that they can hide their minds and thoughts from God. I know I can’t and there are times that I have to repent for what I thought. It might have been something somebody said that triggered a thought or even sometimes by their appearance. I’ve grumbled a good deal about clothes people have worn or the way they have their hair. I had to stop and say Joe what are you doing. Who cares what they have on; who cares about their hair. Then it dawned on me; not only was I grumbling. I was becoming a complainer. Oh no; I had to stop myself from being that person. Lord what am I doing: let me be Kingdom minded. Fill my mind and heart with you Lord Jesus. I thank you for filling me with Your word and for filling my mind with things of the Kingdom.

  6. 15. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

    16. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. NLT

    I need Your mercy
    I need Your grace
    I need Your hand
    Leading the way
    Can’t make it without You
    Not for one day
    I need Your mercy
    I need Your grace

  8. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

I believe this strongly indicates how someone who was once Firm in the gospel but yet still walk away and fall into an un faithful life. Because they stopped obeying and they stop allowing the word of God to pierce their heart and judge there thoughts and intents. Mankind begins to fall when trust and unbelief enter. When Man has more faith in himself then the word of God, his heart deceives him and he is led astray.

  9. 12For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. (NLT)

The greatest part of being in the kingdom of God, the word will help us evaluate ourselves and let’s us know who exactly we are. Paul writes in the scripture above that nothing is hidden from God. The worst lie we can believe is that we can hide things from God and get away with it by justifying our beliefs.

We have a line of progression in whom we are accountable to. We are accountable to our pastor and then we are accountable to God. The word of God will convict and consume our disbeliefs. We have to make sure that we search the word for ourselves. We have to measure who we are according to the word of God. But again we must not trade seeking first the kingdom of God for allowing the world to entice us from God’s love with temptations and lies. For this world is full of iniquity and sin that will overtake us if we let it.

    2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 states-
7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The truth of God will set us free!

    I live the kingdom!

  10. Hebrews 4:12 (Amp) For the Word that God speaks in alive and full of power [ making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two- edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the ” breath of life ( soul) and
( the immortal) spirit, and of joints and marrow [ of the deepest parts of our own nature] , exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of him with Whom we have to do. God see’ everything that we do. Today , Hear his voice and when you hear it, Do not harden your heart. Be sensitive and obeintent . Pray in the Holy Ghost. We are overcommers and anointed by his word in our lives.

  11. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Arm yourself with the word of God! It is one of the most powerful things we possess! It’s our how to book, it helps guide us on the way to live and deal with situations and speak encouragement to us. We must learn to love the Word and people and most of all Jesus. His word is forever.

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we keep His word we live a better overcoming life. And it’s His word that brings us back if we ever turn away.

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:67‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:42‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“Thou art my portion, O Lord: I have said that I would keep thy words.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:57‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:74‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:101‬ ‭KJV

I love the Word! Be blessed today!

  12. “For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:10

I’m so curious about this place of rest. One definition says this.

    :a resting place
metaph. the heavenly blessedness in which God dwells, and of which he has promised to make persevering believers in Christ partakers after the toils and trials of life on earth are ended

From the sounds of it, it looks like this could be the heavens. When I think of rest I’m thinking of things I do when I’m tired, I sit, I sleep, i “take a break”, those kinds of things. But when people are kid to “rest” it’s usually when their time here on earth is over. This is where R.I.P comes from (rest in peace) well when my time is come I’m praying I make to the the PLACE of Rest. Because if I’m not in Gods will then it doesn’t look like I’m gonna have any rest. In fact when your not in Gods will you can’t rest. It’s constantly going through the head over and over again until you perform His will. After you’re in his will and plum with the word of God then rest is easy.
    So we have,
    rest (natural) (body)
    Rest (mind)(soul)
And the place of Rest(heavenlies) (spirit)

    Mind body and spirit.
The rest that’s referred in the scripture above is talking bout the heavenly so make sure your spirit is right. God bless

  13. Power and Purpose of the Word!

We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work.” So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
    Hebrews 4:4‭, ‬6‭-‬6‭, ‬12‭-‬13‭, ‬16 NLT

Within the pages of this book we can find rest for our weary Souls. Of course it’s not the deep rest that He promises if we finish this race Faithfully.
But there is power in this book to dissect, decipher, to dive into and extract great truth within the pages and out of life. There is hope and grace and mercy and Love within these pages. Oh God to know You more by Your written Word. Thank You, Lord!

  14. 1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

It is a very dreadful thing to fall away, or refuse your faith to mix with the Word. We must continue to mix our faith, and preach Jesus to this world that we might reach souls.

  15. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

GOD KNOWS ALL THINGS!!! NOTHING IS HIDDEN FROM HIS SIGHT!!! We can run but we can’t hide…… thank you DADDY, for loving me. I love YOU JESUS!!!

  16. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Jesus today You will save me! We can never be too big or high to not receive grace and mercy -we need it everyday because eits by His grace that we even live! Everyone needs to take time to rest and reset – take your rest and come to the feet of Jesus, He’s all you could ever need!

  17. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The Gospel is very simple: hear, believe, do, and be saved. We are such fickle, lazy creatures that we
often delude ourselves into believing that hearing is enough, as if knowledge concerning holiness
makes one holy. It does not.
We MUST be doers of the word.

Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22

But without faith it is impossible to please God
    Hebrews 11:6

So then Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

  18. “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:15-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus can sympathize with our weakness and temptations, but He cannot sympathize with our sin.

He remained perfect in an imperfect world. And because of that we can approach His throne, the throne of mercy.

Mercy: meaning obtaining forgiveness that we are undeserving of.

    “In the darkness
    Where everything is unknown
I face the power of sin on my own
I did not know of a place I could go
Where I could find a way to
    Heal my wounded soul

He said that I could come into
    His presence without fear
    Into the holy place where
    His mercy hovers near

    I’m runnin’ I’m runnin’
I’m runnin’ to the mercy seat
Where Jesus is callin’ he said
    His grace would cover me
    His blood will flow freely
    It will provide the healin’
Come runnin’ to the mercy seat
I’m runnin; to the mercy seat” – Vicki Yohe

  19. Hebrews 4
2-13 God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.

If we will allow the great physician into our life and allow the Word to work we can be healed. There is power in the written Word.

John 1:1-14 King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

If we truly believe that God is the Word what great things will happen. Healing of the Spiritual the very depth of s soul. When this occurs there can be completely a healing of the mind. I know because I have a coeronces the healing that only Jesus can do . Yes painful yet God and His compassion brings so much love during the process . Then the physical can be made well . Body , soul and spirit.

    John 6
63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
    James 1:22 | NIV

How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
By living according to your word.
    Psalm 119:9 | NIV

    Back to the first scripture
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
    Hebrews 4:12 | NIV

Alive active not just looking at the Bible quickly reading a scripture but allowing it to be active within us. Like baking yeast . It has to be an active ingredient. You mix it into the bread dough you ate making but it has to set and be allowed to grow in a heated place . The heat begins to activate the yeast and the dough rises up . We too cannot just apply the word but we must allow it to be active in our life. Read it apply it let it be activated to do the work ur was intended to . Thy word have I His in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

  20. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
    ….
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

the word must be mixed with faith, otherwise unbelief may sneak into our lives and we will not be able to “finish the race toward the mark of the high calling of God. in Christ Jesus”.

  21. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

When I realized that I was a sinner, I came boldly to the throne of God, seeking and asking for forgiveness. Everyday, I come seeking that same saving grace, because without it,i would have been lost. To serve in His kingdom is the least that I could do, because he saved me. Its through the mercy and grace of God that we are saved. Keep His Kingdom First in all things.

  22. Promises in waiting

6-7 So this promise has not yet been fulfilled. Those earlier ones never did get to the place of rest because they were disobedient. God keeps renewing the promise and setting the date as today, just as he did in David’s psalm…

Most parents would agree that their children don’t want to wait for anything. The last thing kids want to hear is not now. It can prompt anger, frustration, even hopelessness. Most of us still hate waiting for what we want. We want everything done quickly — and technology constantly springs up to meet those demands and encourage our impatience. While society makes every attempt to make our life easier and faster, God works on a very different timetable. In his mind, nothing is wrong with waiting.

Feeling deep, complex emotions while waiting — especially for significant things, like a pregnancy or a job — is not necessarily sinful in itself. We might act on them by taking matters into our own hands. Maybe we do not act but we’ll make an idol out of the thing we are waiting for. Every passing day we get more bitter, impatient, ungrateful, perhaps even resentment against the God who won’t give us what we want.

Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David — had to wait for many years for God’s promises. Everything that happened in the meantime was used to prepare them, inwardly as well as outwardly. Then, when they reached their promise, they were blessed beyond measure. I believe I can wait for my promises.

  23. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    I BELIEVE

2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

A perplexing challenge in the church today is found here. PROFIT, REST and BELIEF are connected just as LOSS, FATIGUE and UNBELIEF are connected. Our deceptive society trains our minds to think in the realm of distrust and unbelief. This is why we MUST seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD to hear and hearken to HIS voice. GOD has raised up voices in our midst to lead and guide us toward the endtime harvest and soon return of our Lord and King JESUS.

However, to advance and receive the promises of GOD in these last days we must disconnect from the kingdom of this world and connect to The Kingdom of GOD. We accomplish this everyday when we seek FIRST The Kingdom of GOD.

We must MIX our FAITH with the WORD of GOD that is spoken. This is evident in services at The POFW. When the prophetic, powerful WORD of GOD is spoken by a man of GOD and those that hear it just sit “super glued” to the chair, or if they just don’t come at all to hear the word. Then for them their FAITH is not mixed with the WORD PREACHED and they have no REST and no PROFIT.

We must implement ACTION with our FAITH and we will enter into the REST and so RECEIVE from the WORD Preached.

  24. iLove the Kingdom
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Thank You Pastor for preaching about the Kingdom in Action on Sunday night. This message along with others at BOTT is truly an inspiration. Ministers of the Gospel, when we hear such messages our faith should be stirred into action. I want to be a profitable servant in Jesus. We should all desire to be a doer of the Word just as much as a hearer of the Word. Rev/Elder Jeff Arnold was right, in Pentecost there is a lot of hearing but not a lot of doing. A lot of declaration about the Power of God, but not a lot of manifestation of it. We can change that though, the key is when we hear the preaching all we have to do is respond to it. God will open the right doors at the right time if we are willing to walk through them…but walking is work. God has given us spiritual authority over certain areas of this city, we must take advantage while we have the favor of God with us.

  25. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (12-13)
How much trust can we put in Gods voice Total trust for nothing in our lives is hidden from him. His word searches our whole being not to condemn us but to sense our deepest most secret needs. With these laid bare Gods spirit guides us to His rest

  26. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

    No Faith No Profit

God has given each of us a measure of faith (Romans 12:3) So, what causes man to not allow what God has already given them to be mixed with the Word of God for their benefit?

You see its like a 5th grade volcano science project. When the backing soda that is already hidden inside the volcano mixes with the vinegar that is being poured into the volcano there is a reaction that benefits in a good grade for the child.

Yet if I take that same baking soda and put it in a tight ziplock bag and then hide it in the volcano I will not receive any reaction because the vinegar never reaches the baking soda. They are never mixed together.

The same in the spirit. When the faith that is already inside of a child of God is mixed with the Word of God that is being poured into them; there will be a reaction that will be for their benefit. The same is true if we allow fear, sin, or condemnation to cover and lock up our faith.

Today let us take the limits off and exercise our Faith in God!

2 Timothy 1:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Stir up the gift that is with you and allow God to flow!

  27. 12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.

    This morning on the way to work, a song that has been in my playlist for a while was playing when it stated a phrase that I had never heard in the song;

“moving on seems easy when the feelings fade”

In the song, he is questioning himself when he stopped allowing God to be enough for Him, and all the great things God had done for him.

I think at times we forget just how powerful the word of God is. As humans, we work in feeling and emotions which change and fade over time. So hearing and reading scripture like above reminds us of His Love and Power. We have to stand on the Firm Never Changing Word of God!

  28. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

What an awesome weekend we had – learning the gospel of the Kingdom is to demonstrate the power of God in signs, wonders and miracles and then hearing from Pastor ” he Apostolic of Doctrine of Action” -s taking what we have heard, mixing our faith with it and then doing it. We were commissioned Sunday Night to reach out to people, share the good news of the gospel of Christ, demonstrate His Kingdom by doing signs, wonders and miracles with the power that God has given us and then encouraged through the video of Bro. Shatwell to reach out to many backsliders and share with them the window of opportunity for immediate deliverance.

Now what are we going to do with it? Let’s not be hearers only but use this opportunity given to see God do great things.

  29. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

It’s his will that we are saved but we must allow his word to shape us. We are to strive for perfection using the power of the Holy Ghost to overcome this flesh. He is the way maker and chain breaker and will continue to move in our lives so we enter into his rest. He is for us.

  30. 3 For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said, “In my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.

Rest–cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength, peace…

Having the Holy Spirit it allows to feel these traits. We can rest at all times, for the Holy Spirit renews and refreshes you all the time. Through worship and prayer, you are re-energized to face whatever the enemy may throw your way.

  31. “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:13, 16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Nothing we do is hidden from God!!!
No matter how many times we fail to hear His voice we have to be bold and accept when we fail and go to Him for help and His mercy with be with us.

  32. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable…This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
    Hebrews 4:13‭-‬16 NLT

Even when we know better, it seems more comfortable for us to try to hide our sins from God than to expose them. He knows every secret place, every hidden chamber, every nagging doubt and unrepented-of fear. He knows what and who we truly love. He knows the decisions we make that take us closer to our idols rather than to Him.

He understands our weaknesses, our propensity to fail. He knows that we can make the right choices if we only would. Still, He has provided a place for us to go in the midst of the struggle: the throne of grace.

There is mercy at His throne to cover all our failures. There is strength there to enable us to live above sin. There is grace there for when we need it to overcome the sins of the past AND for when we need it to conquer our sinful nature today.

We must become regulars, frequent-flyers, homesteaders at His throne of grace. We can’t be embarrassed that we need His mercies again. We can’t be intimidated by our failures or our struggles. We mustn’t allow the enemy to bully us into thinking that there is no more room at God’s throne for us.
    There is…
    There always will be…
His mercies are new every morning…
    Great is His faithfulness!

There is sufficient grace to cover our every mistake, to empower us in every struggle. The throne room is open, and we can go boldly in every time we have a need, even if we need Him again today.

  33. “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:12-13 NLT

The word of God is not dead; it is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword. The word of God can probe us like a surgeon’s expert scalpel, cutting away what needs to be cut and keeping what needs to be kept.

  34. Hebrews 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

This scripture made me think of the chorus to a song called, “Mercy and Grace.”
I need Your mercy and I need Your grace
I need Your hand leading the way
Can’t make it without You not for one day
I need Your mercy and I need Your grace

So thankful that we can come boldly (in a confident way) unto the throne of grace (unmerited favor or unconditional love), so that we can obtain (get, aquire, secure) mercy (compassion or forgiveness), and find (discover) grace (unmerited favor or unconditional love) to help us in time of need.

So Thankful JESUS for Your MERCY and GRACE!!

  35. “Those earlier ones never did get to the place of rest because they were disobedient. God keeps renewing the promise and setting the date as today, just as he did in David’s psalm, centuries later than the original invitation: Today, please listen, don’t turn a deaf ear…”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:3-7‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God keeps sending out a life line to those that have chosen to walk away from him and rebel. He places his promise in reach, showing his mercy time and time again but some continue to walk away. Don’t turn a deaf ear, come back to him before it’s too late.

  36. “For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The gospel is only good news if it gets there on time. We have to be ready everyday day. To hope to run into somebody that is hungry for some good news. For somebody that can use rest and love.

  37. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

God is a merciful God. All we have to do is go to him and in him we find rest.

  38. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

    Praise God

  39. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

There is power in God’s word! It heals, encourages, helps you fight the enemy, and gives us peace. I once heard someone say the Word of God is God’s mind. If we memorize scriptures and store them in our hearts we will think, behave, and be more like Him.

  40. “Nothing is hidden from God! He sees through everything, and we will have to tell him the truth.”(Hebrews‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭CEV‬‬)

There’s no power in this world that’s higher or bigger than the King himself Jesus Christ nothing can be hidden from God. The reason why God can see through everything is because “God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation.”(Hebrews‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

  41. So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
    Hebrews 4:9‭-‬10 NLT
The writer starts out saying that Joshua didn’t give God’s people rest when he conquered the promised Land but there is a special rest yet to come. The special rest is the Holy Ghost in filling.
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
    Isaiah 28:11‭-‬12 KJV
This is also the fulfillment of the Sabbath rest, just as God rested from his labor, we rest from our works and allow God’s Spirit to work in us and through us to build the kingdom. Just like Pastor taught on Sunday, that which is of the flesh is flesh but whatever is born of the Spirit is Spirit or of eternal value.

  42. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

God is so powerful that our human minds cannot fathom the extent his power can go. He has left us with revelations that we can see for a reminder. His Word is so sharp that it can pierce us in places of our spirit and heart no one else can even see. He knows all things, even the things we may try so hard to hide. He made our minds and knows already our thoughts. How amazing is it that our Creator formed us in his likeness and his own image and loves us so. He was beaten for our infirmities and died for our sins. Even we rejected him he loved us that much to lay down his life, because while we were yet in sin we would need salvations. He gave us a way out when we didn’t even know we were lost. Were sin separated us, Jesus’ blood brought us back together. Their is such power in the blood, that it brought new life!

  43. We know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work.” But in the other passage God said, “They will never enter my place of rest.” So God’s rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.”
    Hebrews 4:4‭-‬7

It’s ready and waiting. And it’s the same as it was yesterday today and tomorrow. It’s his word. His promise.

  45. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.

Amen! No Excuses! What excuse can we give God? This is why it’s so important to have the fruits of the Spirit because having all those is what is going to help us through every problem. This applies to our discipline. If we’re not disciplined spiritually we’re going to fall in the devils trap but if we are full of the HG, we will be very quick to discern His voice with the other voices.

  46. For this good news—that God has prepared this rest—has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God.
    Hebrews 4:2 NLT

If we dont share the faith we can miss out on the promise God has given us. We need to outreach our community in order to enter in to his rest. We need to share the Gospel.

  47. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The Word can be preached but not recieved! The word needs to fall on good ground, and with no faith=No good ground. We have to mix what God has given us with what we hear from the Man of God and the word that he has received from God. Our minds and hearts need to be in tune with the spirit. Sometimes when we go Sunday,Monday, and not Tuesday. We needed to mix our faith with the Word to go threw Thursday into Wednesday!

  48. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

For it to be mentioned twice in the same chapter I feel as though this was a very strong warning to us. Be sure to listen and apply your faith the first time something is preached to you. Yet it still takes some of us time and time again to hear something before we grasp the concept. It’s a shame but true. Lord, help us today to not be on the side of those that don’t mix their faith or are filled with unbelief.

  49. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
    Hebrews 4:14‭-‬15 NKJV

He understands our humanity but still still expects us to strive to perfection. He knows we are flesh and fall short. Yet out of His goodness and love, equips us and empowers us to overcome. He is an example that it can he done and live without sin. His Spirit gives us the guidance and strength to do his will and live a life pleasing to Him

  50. “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The word must be mixed with faith. The way we do this’s to encourage, believe, and encourage others. It will build our faith and other’s faith.

  51. “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Developing in Christ means wanting more. More of him, the word, prayer, and deeper meaning. Dissecting the word. Studying to show yourself approved. Hiding the word in your heart. We can’t just stay in the same place and drink milk. We have to desire the meat of the word.

  52. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

There was a certain fear in priest that were not living right, when the priest before them fell dead for entering the Holy of Holies in worthily.

The difference now is that we have grace on our side. Grace is holding back judgement against sin until that day, therefore giving us an opportunity to enter boldly.
