Hebrews 11

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

19 Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.

24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;

25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

28 Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.

34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

  1. This chapter deals with the vision and endurance of faith . It introduce us to man and woman of the Old Testament Who had 20/20 spiritual vision and who endured tremendous shame and suffering rather then renounce their faith .vers1 is not really a formal definition of faith rather it is a description of wrath faith does for us . It makes things hoped for as real as it we already had them and it provides unshakable evidence that the unseen , spiritual blessings of Christianity are absolutely certain and real . In other words , it brings the future within the present and makes the invisible seen.

Faith , mighty faith the promise sees,
    And looks to God alone;
    Laughs at impossibilities
And cries, “ It shall be done.”

  2. By an act of faith, POFW will take this city. By an act of faith, the families of my little Sovereign Soldiers will ALL be won to the Lord. By an act of faith, phase one of our building is paid in full, as phase two begins in 2019. By act of faith, we will break forth in Jesus name, as revival continues! Faith, faith, faith…..just a little bit of faith. Thank you Jesus for your favor upon us.

  3. He is Able to do anything , I love God first means that i do have Faith , even when i dont feel it . I want to sincerely diligently seek him .. While pleasing him which is the spirit that dwells in me
Thank you Lord for another day

    Hebrews 11:6 NLT

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
    Hebrews 11:6 NLT

  4. 32. And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

    33. Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

    34. Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

There are so many testimonies packed into this one chapter, all of them made possible By Faith. We are all responsible for our own testimonies once we have been shown what faith can do. What will your testimony be? What will my testimony be?
When they tell my story, what will be the conclusion of:
    “By faith Brad…”

  5. Hebrews 11 -11 (Amp) Because of faith also Sarah herself received physical power to conceive a child , even when she was long past her age for it, Because she considered [ God] Who had given her the promise to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His word. [ Gen.17-19] But God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a Son indeed, and you shall call his name Isacc [ laughter]; and I will establish My covenant or solemn pledge with him for an everlasting covenant and with His posterity after him. Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart , Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old ? My God can do anything! It’s because of faith and a promise and pledge from God. It’s was the act of faith ! I pray also that the act of faith will take this city.

  6. FAITH IN THE KINGDOM:

They were too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground. All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.
    Hebrews 11:38‭-‬40 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/heb.11.38-40.NLT

Throughout this chapter it speaks of faith, but what is faith? It is believing in things not seen. In the Greek 4102 pistis from G3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction ( of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly constancy in such profession; by extension the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself:– assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.
There is a lot to be said about faith. Look at Abraham. He was about to sacrifice his only son in faith. Noah built an ark out of faith. Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt in faith. How do we walk: according to the word we walk by faith not by sight. It kills me the number of people that say show me. You can’t really show faith, but then I guess you can. How I’m not sure on that one yet. I’ve told people look at what God has done for me. For one: I almost died in September 2017, but guess what? By God’s grace and love. I’m still here. I know that I have faith in God and His Kingdom. How can I show it to others; well my wife and I could’ve divorced in 2012, but no. God brought us back together after 16 years of seperation. I could’ve stayed in the world, but no. God called me to go the house and begin my journey to His truth. So then what’s the problem. There is but one thing that can trip up a believer; their flesh. You have to have the mindset that God is going to do great things. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. So then all that I need to do is open my ears. Lord give me the grace to hear your word. I thank you Lord for the understanding of your word.

    Hebrews 11:6‭, ‬11‭-‬11‭, ‬13 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/heb.11.6-13.KJV
    Faith:
strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
synonyms: religion, church, sect, denomination, persuasion, religious persuasion, religious belief, belief, code of belief, ideology, creed, teaching, dogma, doctrine
“she gave her life for her faith”

    Beleif:
Belief is the state of mind in which a person thinks something to be the case regardless of empirical evidence to prove that something is the case with factual certainty. Another way of defining belief sees it as a mental representation of an attitude positively oriented towards the likelihood of something being true.

This Whole Chapter all I can hear in my mind was what I was thinking yesterday, I was like Lord, Why is it easier for me to have faith for someone more than for me, the other night at the alter, I wanted my breakforth moment, but all I could hear is a certain sister crying, so I started believing for her to get her moment, I was believing for her, but as for me, I was trying to convince myself, and God, like almost begging, but is that Faith? Faith is walking up to God and saying Lord I am having this issue with this body part, or the Dr. said this report! And In Jesus Name the issue is Gone, then thank him praising him, its He wants us to beleive in him, not medicine, not diets, or DR’S. Sarah believed that God was going to open her womb, and when she started laughing, I dont think it was out of lack of beleif or faith, it was more of a so now after all these years of praying and trusting, you decide to give us the one thing we’ve wanted, when we are this old type of thing, Ok God, we trust you, bring it on! We may not be here to see what is going to happen at POFW, Pastors believing for 3000 soul revival at the convention center, and he believes God is going to give him that, we as a family need to beleive with him, in unity, it’s not enough to beleive we have to put action on that beleif, we have to prepare for it, so when that time comes we are ready, That’s expectation, That is Faith!

  8. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Methuselah lived to be 969 years and all the Bible really says about him is that he had children and died….he was alive right up until the flood, but Enoch loved to be just over 300, and it speaks much more about how he lived his life, because he WALKED with God, Man’s true and original purpose. It is said that it isn’t how many years that u live, but how u lived in those years that matter. And this chapter tells us… It’s about our faith.

  9. Their faith helped them conquer kingdoms, and because they did right, God made promises to them. They closed the jaws of lions and put out raging fires and escaped from the swords of their enemies. Although they were weak, they were given the strength and power to chase foreign armies away.
    Hebrews 11:33‭-‬34 CEV

A concern may arise within when we feel as if we barely had/have any faith.
But oh goodness when our faith is pieced together as a puzzle, it is then when our eyes can see the miraculous!!!! Deaf ears opened, blind eyes can see, the body completely healed! There is no limitations with GOD. So let us not put a limitation on our faith! What are you believing for today?!!

Today i choose faith over fear!!! It just allowes me to feel better, think clearly, and speak life!
    Faith is contagious…PASS IT ON!!

Jesus replied: If you had faith no bigger than a tiny mustard seed, you could tell this mulberry tree to pull itself up, roots and all, and to plant itself in the ocean. And it would!
    Luke 17:6 CEV

  10. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

He’s working even though I can’t see it, in the darkness he’s working I just have to keep faith.

  11. I learned the Faith is very important. It said in verse 6 that without Faith it impossible to please him. In this chapter it also talked about who used Faith to please God, like Cand and Able. If we use Faith today we will please God and put a big smile on God’s face.😁😁😁 GO USE YOUR FAITH POFW😁😁😁

  12. By faith.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

How do you really know that God is there? This has been a question in the human mind for hundreds of years. For some one who does not believe in God it is hard to understand, but those who do believe faith comes easier. We have a hope, because we understand who Jesus is. In our walk with the Lord the first thing we must have is Faith. Without it, how does one explain salvation? We must believe and have faith that God has forgive our sin. By faith the Kingdom of God is here. By faith, we please the Heavenly Father. By faith, we are saved. By faith, He will return for us. The Kingdom is based on faith, out hope that Jesus will return, that he did indeed died for our sins. Thank you Jesus for the opportunity to grow in faith.

  13. “How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:32‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We have great examples of many people that had faith in the Bible that can teach us a lot about their faith, but also by their courage and love for God and living a godly life according to God’s commands and statuses. Their examples bless us and teach us this day to keep our faith in God, who we can’t see but we can feel His presence. Keep our faith in one day be with Him for eternity.

    Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

  14. It was by faith that God called me out of the place I was at and told me to get my own apartment when I was alone. It was by faith that God told me to trust Him with my heart and I gave it to Him to heal me so then I would be capable of loving others again. It’s by faith that God told me to leave the job that I was at and start my own business. It’s by faith that I am now living in walking every single day by His side and staggering not at the promises that He has for my family. I’m so thankful I’m so glad I’m so joyful because of His goodness and His Wonder. thank you Jesus I bless Your holy name.

  15. Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
First of all, you must believe that HE Is GOD. Then, you must believe that HE Is A REWARDER of them who Diligently Seek HIM.

Diligently is characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic force.
Seek means to search, desire, require, demand.

So the question is, “What are we diligently (earnestly and energetically) seeking (searching, desiring, or requiring) God for?”

Perhaps it’s salvation for our family. (vs. 7)
Perhaps it’s to be Obedient when God calls us to “GO.” (vs.8)
Perhaps it’s to win a soul (conceive seed and deliver a child). (vs.11)
Perhaps it’s to overcome our flesh so we won’t enjoy the pleasures of sin. (vs25)
Perhaps it’s to have walls knocked down that have been built up in our life. (vs. 30)
Perhaps it’s to obtain a promise. (vs. 33)
Perhaps it’s to quench fire darts that the devil is throwing at you. (vs.34) (Gal. 6:16)
Perhaps it’s to find strength when your weak. (vs. 34)
Perhaps it’s to find courage in the battle. (vs. 34).
Perhaps it’s to turn to flight the enemy by putting satan under your feet. (vs. 34)
What ever it is that you diligently seeking God for in your life, remember HE Is GOD! NOTHING Is Impossible For GOD!! So Have FAITH!!!

  16. iLove the Kingdom in Action
Wow, this whole chapter is faith in action. In fact, it’s impossible to say you have faith and not exhibit action. James 2:17  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Notice the action words connected with faith. Just one example is “Noah moved”. Kingdom Faith is the Kingdom in Action. It’s impossible to please God without faith, so that means it is extremely important to Work in the Kingdom and put the Kingdom into action.

  17. 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

This chapter in Hebrews is one of my most favorites to read because it starts out by telling us the meaning of faith:
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

When we possess faith we possess the hope of Jesus giving us exactly what we need when we need it. I find that we are rewarded not because of what seek but who we seek. We have to to first seek the kingdom and hold on to the hope that we can stay faithful to make our eternal reward. So many people these days are trying to love things that they can not have or that they will never obtain them.

We find that the part where Abraham step out in faith not knowing where he was going but looking for a city whose make and builder was God. I find that since being inTexas I have felt like Abraham because we felt God release us and he guided us to where we are at, but I know God has great things in store for my family and I, but I have to keep faith that they will soon begin to present themselves to us. I am thankful that God has kept us and I have faith that he will continue to keep us. By Faith! As long as I remember that by Faith everything is in Gods’s hands.

    I love the Kingdom!

  18. Hebrews 11:22
    August 27,2019
    By faith …………
A close friend of my reminded me of thus chapter because the Time was a significant chapter in Hebrews. By faith God sustains and increases our faith. By faith Michael Bower walked daily knowing that God was and did show up to save the life of individuals. By faith to the end …..

    Hebrews 11:22
Joseph was rejected yet was ushered right into the exact place that would provide for his family. If Joseph had wallowed in self pity that his family had left him to die and then sold him into Joseph would have never seen his dream fulfilled . By faith he held on he trusted God and even in the midst of his adversity he still trusted . I cannot go into all the thoughSt that are flooding my mind st this moment. But I am seeing some things that only God really knows . From rejection to provisions . From hatred right into forgiveness . God took each moment to bring unity right back into Joseph’s life . I’m laughing because what was meant to destroy brought a great victory!!!!!
    Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped evidence of things not seen.
See Joseph had a dream he had not seen it fulfilled until after he had been placed strategically by God through trials. Oh what a God we have and how He has the plans already in the making. We complain we cry we fight against the trials yet if our faith just holds on a little longer the dream will come to past.
Back to the faith of a faithful servant of God The year we cane to Apostolic Workd Center assisting Bro Fielding for three years praying watching seeking winning souls to the Kingdom but the opportunity of continuing in Fort Worth closed . Yet look what God has done a dream of souls poured into another man Charles Johnson then his opportunity closed but God said no I have a plan
I have another and through more trials and rejections a soul was birthed by the name of Michael WAtts and a dream that could not die God says now is the time . Coincidence no. Fulfillment of faith and now I’m seeing the dream unfold …..,..
    Hebrews 11:22
One life died believing even his bones would be placed where he asked for Joseph had seen the promise the faith the hope turn into evidence,
This day I declare evidence has come and nothing , no one can stop what God is doing at POFW.

For my understanding only and hope that will be fulfilled in proclamation of faith
    Hebrews 11:22
I believe those ashes will be placed where they belong in Jesus name…………,,,

Hold on to your hope and see your dreams fulfilled .
Hebrews 11 is considered the hall of faith it was obtainable then and is obtainable now!!!!
    By Faith……..thank you Jesus

    Genesis 37
18 When Joseph’s brothers saw him coming, they recognized him in the distance. As he approached, they made plans to kill him. 19 “Here comes the dreamer!” they said. 20 “Come on, let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns. We can tell our father, ‘A wild animal has eaten him.’ Then we’ll see what becomes of his dreams!”

  19. “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
We have to sincerely seek God for that reward. The reward is much greater than any other on this planet. This reward is the eternal reward. The reward where you peace and the joy of the Lord that keeps you moving and getting through the ruts in life. So seek ye first the kingdom! Your reward is in high.

  20. 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Faith not only give us favor with God but also with man. the Bible tells us that the “elders obtained a good report” because of faith.

Lord, teach me to allow my faith to so loud that it impacts the lives around me. Let the faith that others see lead them into Your presence and cause them to receive from You all they need.

  21. By faith.

30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

At Jericho, the people of Israel exercised many types of faith.

    They had Bold Faith.
Having already crossed the river Jordan, they knew there would be no turning back.

    They had Obedient Faith.
Not knowing God’s plan, not understanding why they were walking around the walls of Jericho, they still obeyed!

    They had Patient Faith.
The walls of Jericho would not fall down for the first six days, yet they kept marching as God had commanded them

They had the Faith of Anticipation.
They knew as long as they kept marching, that on the seventh day, God was going to do something great! They were anticipating their promise!

To walk in our promise, we too will have to exercise many types of faith.

The walls of Jericho we’re keeping them from what God had for them. But through obedience and trusting in His plan even when it didn’t make sense to them, those walls came down.

If we have some walls we want to fall down, if we want to walk into our promise, BY OUR FAITH, we must obey and trust Him.

  22. “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

One must believe that He is, and one must believe He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We must believe that God is there, and that He will reveal Himself to the seeking heart.

  23. 39 All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.
40 For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us. (NLT)

We have the same opportunity to strive for perfection and demonstrate our faith!

  24. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KINGDOM CURRENCY – FAITH

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Reading the testimonies of FAITH in this chapter are inspiring and motivating. The By FAITH testimonies, create Hope, build Faith and establish doctrine. Seeing that it is impossible to please GOD without FAITH. We must learn to live By FAITH.

In the District Conference on Monday Night we heard the message of “Challenge Accepted” and the treasures that are in the field. This morning I was reminded of a word that stuck out to me last night that we need to “SEEK” for the treasures in the field and then today that JESUS is a “rewarder of those that diligently “SEEK” HIM. As we continue our quest to SEEK First the Kingdom.

Seek – 1 : to resort to : go to
2a : to go in search of : look for
b : to try to discover
    3 : to ask for : REQUEST
4 : to try to acquire or gain : aim at
5 : to make an attempt

The Greek word for SEEK here in Hebrews 11 is:

Seek – 1567. ekzeœteo; to search out, i.e. (figuratively)investigate, crave, demand, (by Hebraism) worship: — en- (re-)quire, seek after (carefully, diligently).

If we FIRST and DILIGENTLY SEEK JESUS and HIS Kingdom we will never settle for less than HIS will, way and plan. FAITH requires something to be out of our control. This is where the prayer of “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done” is so important and effective.

Understanding that FAITH is the currency or money of The Kingdom of GOD requires that we possess it to increase and advance in HIS Kingdom.

I believe today for a full church building tonight, with FAITH filled saints and desperately hungry guests. IN JESUS Name draw us all by your Holy Spirit.

  25. 11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

What has God promises you? If you believe as Sara did that he is faithful, you will receive your promise. 3 times the Lord has spoken to me about my sons being saved and daily I pray for them along with others in my family and extended family and I believe I will receive what has been promised and they and others will be coming to the apostolic doctrine and serve Him. In Jesus Name!

  26. 4 It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.

Wanna know how to live forever?
Here it is folks! The answer to eternal existence! FAITH.
Able has been long dead – BUT his FAITH is still speaking as an example today!

That is a good sign that FAITH is something worth having! It is around even when you’re not.

  27. We read account after account of people who stepped out in faith to do something that to them seemed impossible; building a massive boat to save people from drowning, uprooting family and going to a strange land, conceiving a child well beyond year of reproduction…. yet they all acted out of faith and trust in God.

Where will I trust God to lead me to? A hurting soul? A new bible study? Someone who needs prayer for an illness? Someone in need of a miracle?

God is waiting on us to exercise our faith and step out. There a world waiting on us.

  28. “By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”
    ‭‭

By FAITH we understand that the entire universe was formed at gods command

  29. Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Things not seen: Noah was asked by God to do in faith things that were unusual with his former experience. He had never seen rain, and yet God told him to build an ark because of a coming flood.

We must have that Faith Noah had before the Flood, prepare our hearts for His coming as it was today, be ready.

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

  30. 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Once I was asked how do you know theirs a God. I told them how do you know that their is wind, you cannot see it but you can feel it. The same is with God we cannot see him but we can feel him and we must have faith that he is God.

  31. Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again:

AND OTHERS were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: AND OTHERS had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
    Hebrews 11:33‭-‬39 KJV

We like to think that having great faith will put us in the first half of this group, among those who received answers to their prayers, who were delivered miraculously from their enemies, who saw their dead raised, and who were made conquerors in every battle. However, it was the second group (those who kept believing when they saw no divine intervention; those who were tortured, martyred, driven from their homes; those who prayed long and still buried their dead) who the author of Hebrews referred to as being too good for this world.

I imagine John the Baptist sitting in a prison cell and beginning to wonder something like this: “Surely if my cousin is who I’ve preached Him to be all these years, He would come and save me. Could I have gotten it wrong? I mean, surely if He is God in the flesh, He knows where I am and what I’m going through… I’ll send men to Him. They’ll tell Him I’m struggling, and He’ll come.”

After all the years of sacrifice and faithfulness, after answering and fulfilling God’s call, the only answer John receives is (paraphrased), “I’m doing miracles for others, but don’t be offended because I’m not doing them for you. Trust in Me anyway. Keep the faith. Endure to the end.”

Paul has traveled the known world preaching, teaching, and building and strengthening churches. He’s won many to God. He’s laid hands on the sick. He speaks in tongues more than any of his contemporaries. He shares divine mysteries that none before him have ever seen. Yet, he can’t get an answer to his own prayers for his ever-troubling personal need. He is sent to preach a healing/delivering God by the same God who has told him to stop asking because “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

Timothy must pastor a church, but he’s often sick. Stephen’s trying to win souls, but the stones are flying. John is banished to a deserted island. James…killed with a sword. Peter…crucified upside down. So many unanswered prayers… “And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in Me,” (Matthew 11:6 KJV).

In other words, it takes great faith when we are called to overcome AND when we are called to endure, and it’s usually harder to keep the faith than to have faith. Bro. Graham and I were once told that our daughter died because we didn’t have enough faith for a miracle; but, perhaps, we had a greater faith—the faith to get up, dry our tears, and preach to ourselves and others that our God is an awesome God!

Faith is the conduit to miracles and the glue that holds us when there is no miracle. Faith refuses to let go of God whether we enjoy victory or suffer defeat. Faith trusts in the sovereignty of God and stands firm when His will is not our own. By faith, answers come; and by faith, we stand—even when met with silence. By faith, we please God and know Him. By faith, we are held even when we don’t understand.

  32. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God blesses those who seek Him daily. He should be our FIRST priority; this world’s gifts and promises are temporal but the promises and blessings of God are eternal. I once heard someone say we need to give God at least 10% of our day. That’s 2 hours and 40 minutes. Let’s not get too distracted with the things of this world and place too much time on temporal things. Let’s keep our sight on Jesus and put Him first.

  33. 7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Noah had to have faith that God was telling the truth, and that he would keep his word to save him.
It takes a lot of faith to build a boat 400 years. God spoke once to him. God told Noah how to build the ark, and what to build out of and didn’t speak again until Noah finished the project, the mission that God gave him.
Cold we do that? only get one word but it carries you for 400 years? Jesus said in Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
If we believe the word of God then when he speaks its going to happen. He is not a God to lie to us. so today we must have faith in God, and in his word. we must believe he has saved us.

    • My mistake it does not say in the Bible it took 400 years to build the Ark. it is believe to have taken 120 years but there is not a verse to say that is correct. There are time lines that people have studied that backs 120 years up.

So if it was 120 or 400 years that God didn’t speak to Noah it is still a long time to hold on to one word.

  34. “Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.”(Hebrews‬ ‭11:1‬ ‭CEV)

Faith is believing and having confidence in the Lord. We know he has all power to do all things what we ask or hope for. We know that are faith in Jesus is our proof in telling people what he has done in our-lives.

  35. I LOVE to worship The Lord
    (11-1)
    FAITH
While the object of faith by its very nature cannot be seen the writer will go on to remind that his presence has a vital impact on our lives and character. Real faith brings great results.
I would like to comment on that verse. Where ever i went to day I had Faith when i handed out Flyers and invited and wittnessing to many people. It made a difference having Faith My Words flowed out of my mouth and each person i was wittnessing to they reacted favorably some said they were coming tonight. PRAISE GOD !!!!!!!!
FAITH HAS EXPRESSED ITSELF IN MY LIFE TODAY

  36. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We can agree that our lungs help us breathe in and out and our hearts beat and circulate blood through the body. Never once today did I have to tell my heart to beat. Why? Because I know it will do it without me asking .. unless the Lord was to allow it to stop of course. Well the same is with faith, we breathe in oxygen even though we may not see it. We believe in faith and prophesy blessings, all without seeing it presently. We praise God in advance because we know he will do that which he promised us. Those who seek him will gain the wisdom to not lean on understanding but that faith is how we walk, and not by sight.

  37. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

  38. Now we walk by faith, doing our works for his kingdom. As long as our faith is sustained, by us, we are going to enter into his promises. We are going to prosper we are going to enter into the kingdom and we are going to live eternally with the king.

  39. God lord Jesus Through faith we understand the worlds were framed by the word of god so things which were seen of things

  40. By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;

I heard about the title of a message Brother Jeff Arnold preached from this verse. It was called, “I am not an Egyptian!!!! Let that sink in. We must know who we are and whose we are. We must also know who we are not! We are not of this world, we are children of the King and are part of His everlasting Kingdom. Therefore we choose Jesus above all the riches, fame and comforts of this world.
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.
    Hebrews 11:24‭-‬26 KJV

  42. 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
    24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
    25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Sometimes our faith is not seen as faith at the moment of its inception but when we later look back we see how Jesus orchestrates the entire thing. Boldly speak your testimony about what Jesus has done for you.

  43. 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I hope for things of the Lord even though I have not seen them come to pass yet. My God has given me a measure of faith because he knew that I would seek his face in the things of his kingdom. What is the evidence of things not seen you have evidence that means you can prove something.

  44. 33 By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions,

This is exactly the Word I needed for today! Faith is not always easy when chaos is around you BUT MY GOD can do anything. Despite of any trial My God is able to do something immediate and that right time and right place and 💥 MIRACLES happen!!! We can’t depend on what we see but what we don’t see! Thank you Jesus for your Word and Preaching Today!!!

  45. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

I hope and pray that GOD would never be ashamed of being my GOD!!! When HE that opened my eyes to the truth made my eyes to see curses broken, and my ears to hear chains falling in the SPIRIT, I remembered the promise that was made into an HOLY GOD!!! NEVER TO DEPART AND NEITHER TO GO BACK!!! I THANK YOU DADDY!!! THANK YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  46. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God is not this big mean spiritual deity that is out to get us if we dont measure up to dos and don’ts and what some may see as rules and standards to follow. But on the contrary, the Word tells me that He is a rewarder. However, He does want us to diligently seek Him. He wants us to go after Him in relationship. He is looking for a people that will worship Him. He is really wanting to give us the best. That is what we desire of those we love. He loves us

  47. “And all of these, though they gained [divine] approval through their faith, did not receive [the fulfillment of] what was promised, because God had us in mind and had something better for us, so that they [these men and women of authentic faith] would not be made perfect [that is, completed in Him] apart from us.”
    ‭‭HEBREWS‬ ‭11:39-40‬ ‭AMP‬‬

What an inspiration! These faithful men and women didn’t wavier in what was promised to them. And to know that they didn’t know what it was like to have the Holy Ghost like we know it today. We are so blessed. Let us be encouraged and inspired to remain faithful.

  48. In this passage we are given multiple examples of people’s faith and the works to follow. He then goes on to write of those that missed out on their promise or those that went through great torture.

39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

“. . . received not the promise. . . “. It’s more than just hearing a good report. We must act on our faith to receive the promise God has promised us.

  49. 39 All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised.

What more does this chapter have to show about faith. Many examples of faith given. We all have faith in things that we want to see happen. It starts with faith, being positive, being encouraged that it will happen in your favor. The ultimate faith as Christians, is our salvation, and waiting for Jesus return.

  50. “Not one of these people, even though their lives of faith were exemplary, got their hands on what was promised. God had a better plan for us: that their faith and our faith would come together to make one completed whole, their lives of faith not complete apart from ours.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:39-40‬ ‭MSG‬‬

All these great moments and people of faith are not the end. They look to us with faith just as we look to them. They knew that there others after them that would do greater things just as we know that there were those before us who have beloved the impossible and received it through faith.

  51. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

A world that is built with men’s hand can also be torn down with men’s hands. I have taken a hammer to build a beatif price of furniture and used the same hammer tear down a wall. The creation of man is temporal and inconsequential to the spirit but what God build or frames can only be torn down by him. When we stop putting our faith in the temporal things we can build an in the eternal things that Gid builds our faith will sustain despite the world around us because we know the master framer.
