Hebrews 13

Let brotherly love continue.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

22 And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.

23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.

24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.

25 Grace be with you all. Amen.

  1. 8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

I find the longer that I live for God, no matter how much I change, God never has changed. He has been the same from the very beginning. We know that no matter the circumstances that surround us, Jesus the same always. The Bible states in:
    Malachi 3:6
    6For I am the LORD, I change not;

I’m thankful for all the grace and mercy that God has shown me and even when I didn’t deserve it he gave it. I know what it means to state that he is a God that will never leave us nor forsake us. We have sometimes reel ourselves back in to where God is. No matter what a person is going through, there is never a problem to big for my God. If we would only build a trust in Jesus, we will find that everyday that we face will be easier to go through. We have to stay grounded in the foundation of the truth. No matter what the world tries to convey to me I choose the truth to the end.

The truth shall set us free from doubt, free from fear, free from all agony and pain. If we seek first the kingdom we will be free indeed.

    I love the Kingdom!

  2. Verses 1-2 AMP “Let love of your fellow believers continue. Do not neglect to extend hospitality to strangers [especially among the family of believers—being friendly, cordial, and gracious, sharing the comforts of your home and doing your part generously], for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” This reminds me of our lesson this passed Sunday. We studied the story of Elisha and his servant, Gehazi. We saw how the Shunammite couple cared for them and blessed them. They did it to be a blessing to the man of God and they ended up being blessed with their residue of an unanswered prayer… a child (son). We are blessed to be a blessing!

  3. 1 Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

This is my favorite scripture. There’s no more focus any other topic then on how we treated each other Brothers and sisters in Christ. The enemy knows that if we stand United as body nothing can’t stop us. that’s why you spend so much time trying to cause division. We are two suffer with our brothers and sisters as well as rejoice with them. My old pastor used to have a saying “you just never know” whatever he said that he was always talking about some situation where we should do something unaware and it turned out to be some miraculous behind it. we have no idea what’s going on in the spiritual realm that what God is testing us on, so it is best that we treat every single human being with the most kind respect, because we never know who God is testing our response with.

  4. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

  5. Remember In Bonds and them that suffer adversity as yourself in the body. Marriage in all but undefiled but adulterers God will Judge

  6. Hebrews 13:15-16 (kjv)
    15) By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
    16) But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

    Hebrews 13:15-16 (cev)
    15) Our sacrifice is to keep offering praise to God in the name of Jesus.
    16) But don’t forget to help others and to share your possessions with them. This too is like offering a sacrifice that pleases God.

1 Peter 2:5 says, “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”

Question – What kind of spiritual sacrifices can we offer up to God that are acceptable and well pleasing to Him?
Answer – The sacrifices we should offer up to God are Praising Him Continually, Giving Thanks to His Name, and Doing Good by Helping others and Sharing what we have with them. These sacrifices are acceptable and well pleasing to Him.

  7. Thank you Lord i recieve your word this morning
God’s grace took me in , i stand with it . Giving Glory and Honor to God the way i conduct myself and set an example for non believers and believers

    Hebrews 13:1-2, 9, 17-17,21 NLT

Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them. Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit. may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

  8. 6. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

    1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

    Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

    Romans 8:31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

  9. I love this chapter. Most of the first half reads like Proverbs. And through out still has the same tone

I love this! God is Consistent, his word is established from the beginning, hes not wish washy, he is not somewhere in between, he is steadfast, and sure. He knows what he expects from us, he is constantly moving, he is all the time creating, he has had the same routine for years, nothing is shocking because he already knew what was gonna happen, we cant get cought up in strange doctrin, I beleive that the Apostolic doctrin is the only Tryth, slot of people say we only learn the New testament but that’s not true, we know that the old testament is a valuable foreshadow, do we live under the law, No because we know that we are saved by Grace, but we know that the Old testament is a prophesy of things to come, and it’s an establishment of Gods relationship and creation if man, so why wouldn’t we know it, even study it, how else would we know about the lineage of Jesus, how would we know of the prophets and moses, we know what were doing, if people would do the same they wouldn’t have time to point out stupid stuff they think we are doing. It’s important for me to stay under one teaching, because I beleive the way I beleive because I’ve seen it, I’ve read it and I know it’s TRUE! God isnt a liar, so why would he write a book of lies, he is A God of TRUTH, and his word is Truth and established in the foundation of the world and literally in the foundation of our house of worship! Lord let your Word be established in the foundation of my heart, my home, my marraige, my life!

Oh God’s not perfect; look at me. He made a mistake with me. NO HE DIDN’T!! He never changes; what happened in my life that I use to think that. Where did I go wrong in my walk. 🤔 that is the question of my life. It doesn’t matter now; cause it’s all under the blood. This is where people need to get that understanding God doesn’t change. We have to give Him our all. We are the ones that allow carnal thoughts to discredit the work God is doing in us. Somebody may pop in your ear: that’s not how to praise God or you didn’t get the Holy Ghost. My God, these are the things that we have to watch out for. All that it takes is one thought to slip in there that what we’re doing is not good or pleasing to God. I know that I had those thoughts at what one point, but why? 🤔 Here’s why; I doubted myself worth to God. This is where things can get tricky. If there is any doubt in your mind; any doubt in your heart. The enemy will slip in and begin to bring up things of the past. What does he do. He comes to kill, steal, and destroy. We have to guard our praises and protect that which is pleasing to God. For all intensive purposes the enemy can only enter if we allow it. He still has to get permission from God to do anything to us. Why should I allow him to get a foothold in my life; after all that I’ve been through to this point. Thank you Jesus for not changing and hearing my praise.

  12. Hebrews 13: 14 [ Amp] Let’s us then go fourth
[from all that would prevent us]. To him outside the the camp [ at Calvary]. Bearing the contempt and abuse and shame with Him. [14] For here we have , no permanent city, But we are looking for the one which is to come.Through Him, therefore, Let us constantly all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips thankfully acknowledged and confess and glorify His name. [ Isa.57: 19] Peace, peace, to him who is far off ( Both Jew andGentile and to him who is near] says the Lord, I create the fruit of his lips, And I will heal him [ make his lips blossom anew with speech with speech in thankful praise]. I will cry out God and give him praises at all times. To God be glory . Helping others is very pleasing to God, To love one another and share. Be bless in the name of Jesus.

  13. “Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We are in a world that still believes of the same faith in Jesus are still being taking prisoners for preaching the word of God. We must pray for those families that are putting their lives in danger for the sake of Jesus.
Not everyone has the courage to go and deliver the Gospel of Jesus.

“And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!””

  15. From this chapter I learned that we don’t have to fear beacause God is here.

I also learned that we have to give thanks to God for all he has done for us, and have us.

We also have to obey his word , it is the truth and the life, so by obeying his word we will get blessings and goshen . Speak and share the word to the lost so they will not have to left out whenever Jesus comes

  16. From this chapter I learned that we have to obey God‘s word in order to give blessings and goshen. I have to reach the lost and bring them to God so they won’t be left out whenever God comes. We have to fill the church up with praise and prayer and t I have to reach the lost and bring them to God so they won’t be left out whenever God comes. 17. 17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

    Kingdom submission

As we continue in revival, I have seen our church be blessed. Thank you Jesus. Part of which is there is unity here. I have heard of other churches where people will do whatever they see fit, they go to church when the feel good enough to go, they give account of where they’ve been to no one, a “free style life.” But, thank you Jesus for our Pastor, who has taught me the value of submission and accountability. There is unity in our church, because we are submitted to Spirit of God, through staying under authority. This unity and submission though, has to go beyond the four walls if the church and into each of our lives with our families and work. Kingdom submission is where we show people the blessings of being submitted.
Young people- believe me when I say to listen to your parents and the leaders in your life. Not everyone is out to take advantage of you. There are still people who look out for you for your best. Pray for those people and cherish the moments you spend with them.

  18. 7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

We are commanded to love, honor and obey our pastor for he watches for our souls.

  19. iLove the Kingdom in Action
Did yall notice the pattern in the Word this morning? Just in case we missed it here it is, “5 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”

To me it appears the theme of the chapter is to have an attitude of Praise no matter where you go or what your doing. We must always be content in having our needs met and always send up praise. This exercises faith and victory in the life of each believer. This is the order of authority.

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

  20. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The same God who gives did miracles then, is doing them now, and is continuing them still at the POFW. “I believe I’ll see you do it again!”

  21. Get out and do something

13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

It is not enough to talk about Jesus among ourselves in the church and be content with the souls that he sends to us. There are instructions all over the Bible about going and reaching outside the four walls of the church. I love the message we heard the other day “The treasure is in the field” . The whole point of the church is to be a beacon of light to the world but we were never suppose to dwell inside the beacon waiting. Let us go even today and do what God intended for us to do to reach beyond the normal, to win the lost, to teach the unteachable… We are not waiting on God, he is waiting on us.

  22. Hebrews 13:2

2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

It’s funny this scripture comes to my attention today. Recently it has been strong on my mind. There have been some people God has placed into my path to reach out to . And the scripture immediately comes to mind. I recently asked someone if they were an angel that I was unaware of . I know for s fact this scripture is true . Many true stories in this Grey head of mine . The important thing about this verse is “be not forgetful ‘ I believe angels visit churches and I believe they are in places of businesses and along our paths to see what our
attitude and reply will be. People say “ I want God to visit me “ ; “I want to be used of God.; “I want to see an angel”. Strangers come to church we sit in our little corner with our friends; we make plans to do our own things, we forget the misfits that don’t look like us or even make you feel uncomfortable or don’t look as good as you. Just what if it is an angel
sent by God ? I have questioned why this person Lord has come into my life and then once again I’m reminded angels unaware. Funny how the first opening scripture says “Let brotherly love continue “
Could it also be the Lord Himself

Help me to be mindful everyday of my actions towards others…….

Matthew 25:36-40 English Standard Version (ESV)
36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me.’

  23. Don’t fall in love with money. Be satisfied with what you have. The Lord has promised that he will not leave us or desert us.
    Hebrews 13:5 CEV

Making money….65 hours a week plus will definitely keep you from seeking His KINGDOM!!

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
    Matthew 6:33 KJV

  24. 18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

    We can read in the scripture above that it gives us two reasons why people should pray for their leaders;

    1) Good Clear Conscience
A clear conscience to know when we are acting through emotions and feelings, as humans who are leaders we can take the positions and roles we have for granted. Not having a reality of how much influence we truly have; on those following as well as those over us, can lead everyone to an undesired destination.

For a leader to lead successfully; we need a clear conscience.

Acts 24:16 Because of this, I always try to maintain a clear conscience before God and all people.

    2) Willing to Live Honestly
Theres a key word here; WILLING. Willing and Wanting.

Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Leaders have flesh just like you and I. We are battle with flesh. That is why we must pray for our leaders!

  25. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

God never changes! Seasons change, people change, situations change, everything changes. But God stays the same. He is the unchanging foundation we need to build our lives on. Be blessed today!

  26. “Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The ancient Greek word for hospitality is literally translated, “love for strangers.” Brotherly love means love for all our brothers and sisters in Jesus, not just those who are currently our friends.

A wonderful way to fulfill this command is to meet and befriend strangers at church and to entertain them with hospitality.
Come on hospitality team let’s be a friend to a stranger today..

  27. Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
    Hebrews 13:5 KJV

    Be content..
This advice goes counter to the American mindset. It seems the whole of our culture is always telling us to want more, more, more. We want more money, more promotion, more prestige; more excitement, more entertainment, more respect; more love, more rest, more everything. We want bigger houses, nicer cars, better toys. We want the latest technology, the grandest titles, and the most gain for the least sacrifice.

We erroneously think having more will make us content, but it’s just the opposite. This constant lifestyle of covetousness sucks the joy out of our work, our relationships, and our service to God. It breeds discontent, depression, and selfishness. It encourages debt, theft, backstabbing, envy, adultery, a general lack of concern for the feelings and needs of others, and bitterness toward anyone and anything that stands in our way of obtaining more or that requires our time and energy without giving us more.

Families are ruined for want of more. Marriages discarded for want of more. Children and parents forsaken for want of more. Ministries abandoned for want of more. Souls lost while we immerse ourselves in a constant, overwhelming discontent.

Worst of all, this pervasive lustful lifestyle sterilizes our walk with God; for, the American dream of “getting” aborts the Christian lifestyle of “giving.” We don’t have time to give because we have a compulsion to make more, do more, or we are already exhausted from making more and doing more. We don’t have money to give because we need to save more or pay for the doing of more that we’ve already done. We don’t have compassion to give because we are too self-obsessed with our own quest for more. We don’t have intercession to give because
(if we bother to pray at all) we, ourselves, have need of more from God.

How can we save a lost world while wrapped in our own discontent? Discontent fills the heart with an arrogant, self-centered ingratitude toward an “unfair” God who has not blessed us with more. We have learned to overlook and take for granted the continual graces He gives us every day, while accusing Him of not loving us, not hearing us, and not blessing us with more. We can eventually become blind to His goodness altogether, having become unthankful, unholy, disobedient, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

The solution? Let your lifestyle be without the lust for more. Be content with such things as you have (Hebrews 13:5). Be content with whatever condition you are in (Philippians 4:11). With food and clothing, be content (1 Timothy 6:8). Be content with your wages (Luke 3:14). Let the God of peace rule in your hearts…and be thankful (Colossians 3:15). Be thankful unto Him and bless His name (Psalms 100:4).
    Rejoice evermore…
    Pray without ceasing…
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:16‭-‬18).
…For He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee, (Hebrews 13:5).
    Be content.

  28. 6 So we can say with confidence,

    “The Lord is my helper,
so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?”

Amen Jesus is my help in time of need. At any time He Can intervene and make a way. We have to remember that He has not given us a spirit of fear but of power. We can’t pick up anything from the devil. My God is mighty and powerful.

  29. 1 Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters.a 2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!

Yes, greet first time guests. A simple hand shake, a simple hello, a simple God Bless you, goes a long ways. It makes and impression to visitors that we POFW care about them, and we want them to belong.

  30. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KINGDOM PRAISE

15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

By HIM; because of who HE is let us offer, extend or live a life of praise continually. Even when it is not convenient or practical. Our lips giving thanks to HIS name JESUS. “Thank you JESUS”

The Kingdom of GOD is built on this foundational function of PRAISE. In earth as it is in HEAVEN.

The prophet Isaiah was privileged to see into The Kingdom and observed:

Isaiah 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

The apostle John records it like this:

Revelation 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

What we learn here is that The Kingdom of GOD on earth as it is in Heaven will reveal an attitude and atmosphere of PRAISE.

  31. Hebrews 13:20,21 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Roman 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

  32. 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

We live in a world where people covet many things and want many items or belongings. But Jesus doesnt want us to chase after things of this world but he wants us to chase after him. It doesnt mean he doesnt want you to have these things, it says to be content with what you have. What you have is good enough. Dont get more worldly things because you are not content with what God has already given you. Chase after the things of God and not the things of man. We can’t run after both things at once.

  33. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Since Jesus does not change, neither does his word, his ways or the truth that he taught. If he healed yesterday, he heals today. Thankful for the word preached last night that he still heals, delivers and saves and we should be fasting and praying till we see it come to pass.

  34. 3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

We know many people who are in bondage of this world; drugs, alcohol, pornography. We have been given the authority and power through prayer for them to be delivered. We just must pray and fast they they desire to be delivered, and then that they stay delivered. We can’t override their will, but we sure can intervene that they desire a change.

If we will intervene like it’s us, God will intervene in their situation.

  35. 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

    Continually..

In any relationship you have (friendship, husband/wife, parent/child) your love for that other person has to be expressed on a continual basis. You cannot tell them you love them one time and expect them go off of that for the rest of their life.

So why would it be any different with God? If we love Him as we say we do, we should express that love through the sacrice of praise and worship. But not just on Sunday’s, not just on days we feel like it, but CONTINUALLY.

Through our praise and worship we put our love for God into action!

  36. “Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery.”
    # staytogether😻😘

  37. “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

So many feel they can get along in life without a man of God in their life to give them direction and guidance. Some even feel like they can be over bearing and in their business but the reality is they are placed in our life for a reason.

I’m so thankful for a Pastor that is in tune with God and keeps us on a straight path.

  38. Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies. Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery. Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
    Hebrews 13:1‭-‬5 NLT
When I first read those Scriptures, I thought that is a hodge podge group of verses that don’t really go together. After about the fifth time I saw the thread of Love bringing it altogether. V1 = brotherly love, V2 = Kindness to strangers, V3= compassionate and empathic love for those suffering, V4= Marital love, V5= What not to love- money for God’s love is better than money!

  39. Hebreos 13:5-6 sean vuestras costumbres sin avaricia , contentos con lo que tenéis ahora; porque el dijo: no te desampararé ni te dejare ; ( gracias mi Dios en ti estamos confiados que no nos dejarás ni desampararás

  40. 17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Some rulers are tyrants and rule with an iron fist and others may be compassionate and caring. When Jesus returns he will ask an account from our Shepard for our souls. We would do best not to grieve him to speak of our downfalls, but of great joy to lead us. We would do well to contribute effectively and willingly to the kingdom, than to be resistant and unwilling to dedicate oneself. Being faithful takes action and work, we would do well to fight the good fight of faith.

  41. 1 Let brotherly love continue.

I have read this chapter several times today and my spirit cant get past ”brotherly love continue” giives the notion that it can stop. Which is true. It’s so easy to forget that the ones we call brothers and sisters need our attention and love just as much as those that we are trying to pull into the Kingdom.

Love is what we all need and love is what we all need to give. The word of the year, the century, and our lifetime is love! Love when your happy and love even more when it hurts. Just love!

  42. 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

He will never leave is or foresake us. It’s a promise. Even when you feel forsaken, His words stands true. He is right there.

He never promises that man will not do something to us, but that we will face adversity without fear because we have assurance in his presence.

  43. 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Continually. That is how often we must praise. Not stopping for in the good times, the ok times, and the bad times…continually offer the sacrifice of praise. Even when it’s all going good and when it hurts. We should always give thanks to His name.
    Thank you Jesus.

  44. 1 Let brotherly love continue.

2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

God loves everyone and we should do the same. Treat everyone with kindness as you would like to be treated.

  45. “So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?””(Hebrews‬ ‭13:6‬ NLT)

  46. 17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

No one wants to be a slave to someone else, but they must remember that when we are submitted, we have more authority…

  47. We know that God alone can restore our confidence, and we can stand firmly on his Word. I know that Jesus Christ is our defender, he protects us by going before us and preparing. We need not fear because the Lord is our helper and no one can harm us.

  48. “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must be under authority to have authority. It’s is the great under/over concept. When we submit it gives more authority to those who lead us thereby giving us greater authority because we obey.

  49. Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
    Hebrews 13:5‭-‬6 NLT

No matter what the storm is if we put material things aside and trust Him He will always be our help.

  50. I love this chapter and all of the life lessons it has to offer. Marriage is honorable, be content with what you have, and He is the same yesterday, today and forever. However, I think my favorite verse of this chapter would be the seventeenth.

17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Obey those that have the rule over you. Pastor watches out for us, he prays for us. He loves us.

  51. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

God will help us! He will never forsake us! If it feels like He’s far from us, He didn’t move from us, we did.

  52. So let’s go outside, where Jesus is, where the action is—not trying to be privileged insiders, but taking our share in the abuse of Jesus. This “insider world” is not our home. We have our eyes peeled for the City about to come. Let’s take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus’ name.
    Hebrews 13:13‭-‬15 MSG

  53. “Let brotherly love continue.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Love for each other will always win. It will win over the broken hearted. It will bring unity. And it will bring peace.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭133:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬
