James 1

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

  1. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

I have already repented….thank you very much
Thank you JESUS!!! YOU ARE SO MERCIFUL!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  2. Verses 19-25 NLT “Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger[g] does not produce the righteousness[h] God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.” These last few verses are captioned “Listening and Doing” in the NLT. We must put our faith, our obedience, and our love into action.

  3. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    OBEDIENCE

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Every verse in this chapter seems to be a Proverbs of the New Testament. The LORD spoke to me in each verse. However, I felt especially moved by verse 25 because of its eternal impact on the soul.

Be a doer of the WORK (OBEDIENCE). This is the KEY to KINGDOM reign in us. The word that will scare most people away is WORK. Oft time the WORK of the LORD is more challenging than digging a ditch.

The WORK of the LORD requires total OBEDIENCE and faithfulness. This man shall be BLESSED in his DEED. A deed is an assignment. We are given many assignments that include sharing JESUS with others; that we fail to be a doer.

However, the assignments qualify us for BLESSING.

Lets do Kingdom WORK today and be BLESSED by GOD.

  4. 5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Lord Jesus, I pray for wisdom and understanding, that I may apply them to all aspects of my life and use them to do Your will; in Jesus Name, Amen.

    Proverbs 4:
    5. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

    7. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

  5. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
    James 1:3‭-‬6 NLT

God will test us to the extent of our ability. He never gives us more than we can handle. When we pray over people or things; we should always ask for wisdom and understanding. Where we lack understanding: God will give us the reasoning to understand and the wisdom to handle whatever the devil can throw at us. I know for me my lack of wisdom is in being able to step out in boldness. That is where I pray everyday that God will give me the wisdom to step out and take hold of the area I step in. I remember when Evangelist Godwin was talking about our puddle. That each step: there is the puddle and it will only be around our feet. So how do I turn that puddle into a pond; then a lake; and eventually let it flow into the sea. By stopping myself from being timid when it comes to doing God’s work. Lord Jesus guide my steps and fill my heart with the boldness to step out into your Kingdom faith. Let not my mind sway me from Your will. Thank you Jesus for leading me this day and giving me the faith to step out in boldness.

I use to get so frustrated when I would read this, God, how can we be joyful in temptations, diverse or otherwise, why does God expect so much? But when we concider everything that Jesus been through, and how they plotted, set him up, he still gave it to God, he still had hurt, he gave it to God, she counted it all joy to be tempted by the enemy, he knew his works and he knew the word, and that’s how he fought the battle. with the WORD! Patience, to me is like temperance, the more you seek God for it the more stuff happens that test it, but if I am in a situation that will elevate my Anger and loose my patience, I hear Pastors Voice, about temperance and temper, and sometimes I say very loudly JESUS HELP ME, because a ball of fire isnt a witness to nobody, I get strange looks but it’s fine, same in a car or in the grocery store, people dont care if your walking and you almost get hit, or in the store and people dont watch where they are going, it gets frustrating! Patience is worked, so I’m all the time, Jesus Help me, because I cant be a light when I’m angry, I’m no different than anyone else in that store, but to be patient is to be considerate of their situation, God what are you showing me! STOP Nora!

  7. 13Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

In the time that I have lived and served God, I have found that even though we are his children, we are tempted and tried by the enemy just like everyone else in the world. The difference in circumstances is though you get knocked down, it’s not about how hard you got hit or even how far you fall, it’s all about having the faith to get up and push on. We are human in the fact that we are going to go through situations and we are going to have to fight our way out. We are not exempt from any trial, tribulation, and temptation. God is not going to tempt us with things that would cause our fall, the flesh that we are made up of will cause us to fall.

    Galatians 6:8 states-
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

The flesh will reap corruption every time. We need to seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness. We will reap what we sow into. That’s why we must worship and serve the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

    John 4 states:
23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

It all about seeking the Holy Ghost and allowing it to guide us. That is the best part of living for God.

    I love the Kingdom!

  8. 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Do not be enticed by sin or tempted to turn away from God or His word. Once you turn away it’s hard to come back. You will go deeper than you could ever imagine and do things you thought you would never do. It can go as far as lead you to a physical and spiritual death. It’s like some relationships you leave because you think the grass is greener on the other side but you’re sadly mistaken. God never leaves you or turns His back on you. You get to the point where you realize what you had and would do anything to get that back. God’s love is like no other. Be blessed today!

  9. We got to be doers of the Word of God .. I recieve it

    James 1:2-5, 12 NLT

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

  10. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

True religion a lot about going to a building with all believers it has nothing to do with the associated with a religious organization. Religion in its purest form is acting out God’s love towards people and being separated from the sinful nature of it. When the verse says helping out the ” in their affliction” it is referencing there pain. God has called us to help people that are hurting. It’s not any more simple or complex than that. If you want to be a religious person reach people and love them

  11. James 1:22 -23 (Amp) But be doers of the Word
( Obey the message) , And not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [ into deception by reasoning contary to the Truth] . [23] For if anyone only listens to Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, He or she is a person who looks carefully at there own face. I want to be a active doer to the Lord, So that I will please the Lord. To live a life of obedience and for external religious worship for for inner and outer acts of my soul . Thank you for saving and baptizing in the Holy Ghost. Jesus it’s your word and your faith that will stand forever and forever. Follow Us to God’s Kingdom to be a doer for him. I bless you in the name of Jesus.

  12. First the Kingdom in me

9 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

If we will keep our ears tuned to the spirit we can hear from God before we speak. If we will listen to what God says FIRST, we can speak with his wisdom. When we speak his words and wisdom and not our own we speak peace and not wrath. He is the God of peace. Let us let God speak FIRST and the situation has no choice but to be blessed.

  13. God is able to supply our need. The enemy wants us to believe that our God has limits to what he can do, but I know my God is able to do all things. When you put your trust in God, there is no job to big for him.

  14. AMP – 12 Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Passing the test sometimes is not easy. Sometimes we have to re-take the test because we fail. However, the mercies of the Lord are gracious to us, and gives us the opportunity to learn what we need to from the test, and then pass it.

Steadfast and perseverance are characteristics that are developed while being tested – will we remain steadfast to the cause? Will we persevere despite having to remain in the test until we pass it? I want to be known for being steadfast and able to persevere no matter what is going on around me.

  15. James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

    2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

  16. So James servant of god of the god Jesus of the twelve tribes that are scattered abroad greeting so brethren would count the joy into divers temptations Knowing this the trying of your faith is patience

  17. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
    James 1:6‭-‬8 KJV

This is why many prayers are simply unanswered!
How does one come to GOD? When prayers are prayed, is it for selfish reasons? Or for HIS KINGDOM, and His glory?

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
    Hebrews 11:6 KJV

  18. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.
    James 1:6 NLT

Be sure that your faith is in God alone.

We tend to put faith in many unworthy and fallible things things. We have faith in doctors, in medication, in insurance, in jobs, in money, in education, in weapons and/or military might, in family members, in government, in institutions, and even in the church. In fact, it is often true that we put more practical faith in many of these things than we do in God, because it is usually easier to have faith in what we can see.

However, every product of man is flawed, unfaithful, and subject to failure. Proverbs says,
“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint,” (Proverbs 25:19). In other words, it will result in much disappoinment and pain.

We cannot allow ourselves to fall into the subtle trap of transferring our faith from God to man or other things of this world. Everything we put more trust in than God, becomes an idol to us and is doomed to fail us. God alone is sure and never-failing. God alone is faithful and worthy of trust. We must place our faith in God alone

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
    Psalms 118:8‭-‬9 KJV

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
    Psalms 20:7 KJV

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
    Hebrews 10:35 KJV

For we walk by faith, not by sight:
    2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
    Mark 11:22 KJV

  19. iLove the Kingdom in Action
    “The Key To Answered Prayers”

James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Wow, as I read these scriptures they leaped off the page and hit me upside the noggin. You might say to yourself, “What does that have to do with the price of iPhones in China?” Come on ya’ll, think about it like this, “let him ask of God”. In essence, “let him ask of God” is a prayer. Now I realize this particular prayer is for wisdom, but the principle can be applied to all prayer in general. Notice the next few verses, Jas 1:6 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Jas 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

If a person “Wavers,” they will not receive “anything” from the Lord. Anything includes wisdom, includes miracles, includes finances, includes deliverance, includes “anything”. So the KEY to answered prayers is to “not wave” yall.

The word “wave” is G1252 (Strong)

    διακρίνω

    diakrinō

    dee-ak-ree’-no

From G1223 and G2919; to separate thoroughly, that is, (literally and reflexively) to withdraw from, or (by implication) oppose; figuratively to discriminate (by implication decide), or (reflexively) hesitate: – contend, make (to) differ (-ence), discern, doubt, judge, be partial, stagger, waver.

    Conclusion:
The key to answered prayer is to ask in faith and not be double minded. You have to know 100% that it is the will of God for you to receive what you need from the Lord…

  20. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

    Religion:
Pure worship/reverence to God/way of life
Worshipping God. Spread His Gospel. Set captives free, heal the sick, preach to the poor. Bring the love of God to those who need it the most!! Miracles, signs and wonders, bring Jesus to the people. Help us Lord, to reach out to the people that they may be saved! In Jesus name!

  21. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Who do you choose to work for every morning? We all have mirrors that we at least pass in the morning, most of us stare straight into them to get ready. Who do you see? And when you walk away who do you choose to serve? Let us see and hear You today Lord. And left in such awe, let us walk through our day serving You to let others see You in us.

  22. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

We must receive God’s word as doers, not merely hearers. To take comfort in the fact you have heard God’s word when you haven’t done it is to deceive yourself.

When a sermon is preached, it is not finished there. It has been heard, now it must be applied to the life of the hearer.

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:24-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  23. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

We often don’t know we need wisdom until our time of difficulty. Once in a time of trial, we need to know if a particular trial is something God wants us to eliminate by faith or persevere in by faith. This requires wisdom.

  24. The man in the mirror

Have you ever looked in the mirror and saw someone you didnt like? Do you know that person looking back at you? In a society that screams,”Find Yourself!” Too often we dont look at the person in the mirror, and we tend to look at those people around us and blame them. I have wanted ,at one point in life, to hurt the person staring at me in the mirror, but, Oh the mercy of God came in. Saved me, healed me, loved me. We have to be doing for the Kingdom, and not just standing and dwelling in the mirror of what could be or what once was. We spend too much time looking at a reflection of self and not a reflector of God. This is what happened to Lucifer, he began to look in the mirror too long, and lost sight of what his purpose in the Kingdom was. If we are not careful, we too, can lose focus of the Kingdom. I’d we are not doing then we are sitting. And, an idol mind is a an opportunity for the enemy.
Young people- let’s get doing for the Kingdom of God. Let’s work for what is truly important, reaching for the Lost.

  25. James 1:19 -27 Hearers and Doers of the Word

    19. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Proverbs 10:19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

  26. James 1:22 & 25
    22) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
    25) But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

To hear the word and not do it leads to deception, but to hear the word and do it leads to blessings.

  27. 2 Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

It’s easy to focus on the negative things that we allow our emotions to determine our outcome. We must stay in the Word of God, and active in our relationship with Christ. It informs us that through ANY trouble, consider it an opportunity for JOY and GROWTH.

  28. Faith Under Pressure
    James 1

2-4 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

Pressure builds up your spiritual bones so that you can walk in faith. Challenges create a true gauge where you are spiritually what fruit of the Spirit needs more nourishment. The true test is the results under pressure. Maturity is a daily process this is why we must take our spiritual vitamins daily.
Letting God developing you into what He wants in His timing.

  29. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

    Dear Lord,
I pray that you help me to be joyful and happy when temptation comes. Because I know this is working my patience. I pray that you help us not to be double minded. I want to be a stable saint. I know that you can not tempt me but I thank you for the temptation and another chance to prove myself. Lord, please help my family to be doers, to always be involved in church. Not only to be involved but happy to be involved. I want my family to be happy and willing to do your work. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Help us to bridle our tongues and to not offend or disrespect another individual. Thank you for helping us Lord.
    Amen.

  30. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

It may seem like a small thing, to glance at one inappropriate picture online or at the magazine stand at the store. It won’t hurt to just have one drink, or it won’t hurt to go out with your friends while they are doing things you know would bring you away from God. But the truth is, it is like getting a small snowball and rolling down the hill in the winter time. The small snowball will turn into something really large. This is why we need to be strong in faith and also we need to know what places, situations and people will cause us to fall into temptation and we need to avoid them. Because we dont want anything to turn us away from God.

  31. James 1:2-4
    2) my brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
    3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
    4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

It is very important knowing the difference of (Trials and Temptations) temptations comes from within and is a response of mans sin nature to circumstances. God has nothing to do with temptation. All that GOD brings into our lives is a good gift – and that includes trials.
Dont blame the devil for feeling tempted or giving in to temptation.
vs-8 A double-minded is unstable in all his ways
Every decision you make will be uncertain as you turn first this way and then that.

  33. If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:26‭-‬27 NLT

These last two verses describes what happens when you listen to and do what the Word says. James you will learn to tame your tongue. His next description or proof that you have genuine religion is a lifestyle of serving those in need. In this case it is ministering to the widows and orphans. He also adds holy living to the mix or as KJV says, keeping yourself unspotted from the world.

  34. 19Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

Such a true statement. Think before you speak. When you’re angry, things will be said that you may regret later. The key to slow anger is patience. I thank God, I’m slow to anger. Don’t let the little things get to you.

  35. “If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.”
‭# control your tongue or don’t clam religious.

  37. “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬
I was just talking about this with my mom today.
We were talking about chaos and turmoil and how usually it will follow with something great then immediately after it follows with something trying to steal your joy the Holy Ghost had given you.
Think about it, I’ve heard it preach a few times, if you’re not being tried or tempted then are you even growing? If the Lord makes a way of escape from temptation then this is our choice of growth and we should praise our way out of that temptation and into the victory of the Lord!

  38. “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:22-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is easy to read the word of God in a daily bases, anyone can do it. But living what we read in the word of God is what we need to do, not just read and never apply it in us.
The word of God is for ourselves to apply in our everyday life. Live according to a godly and image of Jesus.

  39. From this chapter I learned that we have to be wise and use wisdom. With wisdom we will accomplish many challenging and great things. With wisdom we will be led by God without a doubt. Trust, believe, pray and hope. USE WISDOM POFW!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

  40. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Comes a time when testing, battles and hurts can destroy a persons faith. We shouldn’t allow them to destroy our faith no matter how little or big the struggle is because we are more than conquerors.

  41. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Temptations will come, but they are only opportunities to overcome spiritually and strengthen our relationship with Jesus. The more we deny fleshly desires we are one minded and lined up with God. However, if we struggle with temptations that appease the flesh we give foothold to the enemy. We cannot be one foot in the kingdom and one foot out. To be doubly minded means their is a struggle between two kingdoms trying to dominate the direction of ones thoughts. This is why we have to bring those rebellious thoughts captive (2Cor 10:5). Sin leads to death. Our opportunity is to recognize what sin lies in each temptation and take joy that God has allowed us to resist it. Living in faith to please God will lead us to eternal life.

  42. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

My husband and I have been married for 12 years. That’s one grain of sand upon the shore. Yet one thing I’ve learned is his likes and dislikes. Sometimes things changes but there are some truths about him that were true when we dated and still remain true 12 years later. There are something that I wouldn’t dare ask him to do because I know his stance. There are also times I ask him to do things in faith that his love for me will cause him to say yes.

We are the bride of Christ and we seek His word to know His heart. When we know His heart we can ask of Him somethings in faith that He Will do it for us. We know our boundaries and we know what to ask because our love for Him draws us to do His will and not the will of our flesh.

  43. “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Sin brings pleasure for only a season and in the end it brings death. Sin will always take you farther than you want to go and make you stay longer than you intended to stay. The enemy hasn’t changed his plan to bring death upon us but thankfully our Father has come to bring us life.

  44. 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Temptation and trials will come. The key is to endure. Its not a very attractive word but it is really needed. Why do we endure to show that we love Him. HE is worthy!

  45. “Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

What good does it do to pray, fast, and study God’s word when your mouth is constantly running, speaking death rather than life?? Absolutely nothing, it just proves that what you’re doing is falling into routine instead of falling in love with the things of God.

  46. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

The are many excuses to be angry in this age and many use it as reason to curse or rant and rave. However, we must see it as a temptation to sin and bridle our tongues…blessing God and cursing man should not come from the same tongue. Bless those who despitefully use you and curse not.

  47. Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
    James 1:2‭-‬4 MSG

Ha yeas! Keep good cheer even when your at you weakest moments helps to build character in your faith and strength in it as well. I think it was pastor who said our faith is like a muscle and if it’s not worked out it will never get stronger. A well developed muscle gives you strength but a muscle that has a deficiency will become weak and eventually become useless.
