James 2

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

  1. 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
This is provided for us to have the ability to see the veracity of are faith, by evaluating it based upon are good works. We must repent and believe to receive salvation, however perdition’s plan to thwart that salvation can be to influance an ungodly life, and lead one to believe that their salvation has been justifed. Henceforth: 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

  2. James 2

2 My brothers,[a] show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. 2 For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, 3 and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” 4 have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? 5 Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Are not the rich the ones who oppress you, and the ones who drag you into court? 7 Are they not the ones who blaspheme the honorable name by which you were called?

8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. 9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10 For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it. 11 For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty. 13 For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

    Love that goes beyond duty…………
This the call that God gives. I can dress well I can talk the talk walk the walk but when it comes to the end of the day what will God have to say…..,,

  3. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
    James 2:10‭-‬11 KJV

My friend and I was talking about something similar, that God is not a halfway God, it’s all or nothing! That’s why he said either we are Hot or Cold because Luke warm is getting spit out, luke warm is nasty, and no wonder God dont like it, he wants all of us Not just part of us!
    Rev 3:16-17
16So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. 17Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable,

We cant say I’m gonna commit to only part of the covenant and not all, my mentality was well, I’m only obligated to go to one prayer meeting, and hunny, that speaks volumes to my priorities, and how I viewed my relationship, if it wasn’t important to me, then ok, why am I even doing it? But something changed, my thoughts, the way I feel about my commitment to God, to ministry, The word says we can only serve one master! My actions every morning I open my eyes determined who that Master is! Is it Social Media, is it my Puppy, is it TV, Is it Joe? Or is it The one who makes it possible for me to breath, to live, to laugh, to love! I Choose God!

  4. KINGDOM WORKS:

You see that [his] faith was working together with his works, and as a result of the works, his faith was completed [reaching its maturity when he expressed his faith through obedience]. And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God , and this [faith] was credited to him [by God] as righteousness and as conformity to His will ,” and he was called the friend of God.
    JAMES 2:22‭-‬23 AMP
You know when God is speaking directly to your heart. What do my works show for the Kingdom? How have I given to the Kingdom? Where have I shown my works with my faith? 🤔 The answer is I haven’t; I have been so wrapped up in my new role at work that I really haven’t thought about it much. Wow Joe you’re selfish: thought just hit me. Faith without works is dead. It states that right there and is a slap in my face. Wake up and realize that you ain’t gonna make it to heaven by faith alone. Lord help me to be a better steward of the time you give me. Lead me to where you will have me to put forth my feet in the works of your Kingdom. For just as the [human] body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works [of obedience] is also dead. JAMES 2:26 AMP Lord I pray you order my steps to do the work and build my faith in you.

  5. The beginning of this chapter screams “THERE IS ROOM IN THE HOUSE OF GOD FOR EVERYBODY!” as Bishop Marrell Cornwell always says. This is the way of “IMPACTING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER”.

Verses 18-24 NLT “Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.[f] Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless? Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.”[g] He was even called the friend of God.[h] So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.” Let us not be useless; but, rather let your actions break forth and be used by God.

  6. 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone

In conclusion of this chapter: faith without works is dead. In other words, it’s pretty useless if you don’t demonstrate it. Take your faith today and pray for God to show you how to release His power and demonstrate your faith!

  7. 3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

James is the complete parallel version of Proverbs in the New testament. Giving infinite wisdom on Christian living. The scripture has always gotten to me because it makes me wonder why would James need to tell us not to be partial, unless we all had a natural inclination to gravitate towards those that are deemed more desirable than others. Our flesh will naturally favor someone who fits society’s standards while almost shunning or shaming those who are not up to par. The Bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves and then points out that our neighbor is everybody we are able to. The person who needs love most is the one who usually receives it the least. I think it’s time for the church to pray to see with the eyes of God of what’s inside every man and see those that need him rather than thru our flesh that has natural partiality.

  8. “If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭2:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/1/jas.2.8.kjv

I remember when I was in grade school we always had a GOLDEN RULE and that rule went something like rest your neighbor how you want to be treated. This is exactly like the scripture love they neigbor as thyself. This is such a powerful scripture schools have been using it for decades and these young kids are bearing the word in grade school. Our God is so precise in his work it’s amazing. And it says ROYAL LAW in the word of God, and in GRADE SCHOOL it says GOLDEN RULE my God is a waymaker even where you may not think he is. He is there in your midst.

  9. 8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

His Kingdom. As I read this, I am guilty of having to been a respecter of person. I have judged people wrongfully. I have also asked God and those that I could ask to forgive me. When we can love one another without hesitation, that is when the Kingdom is truly in us. Jesus died for everyone, no matter how great or small. When we can do that, Hos Kingdom will be truly in us. We are His children, so what did daddy teach us?

  10. What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

  11. What if god brethren through a man he hath faith and not works if Jesus would let a brother or sister of God’s children be naked then they can daily food

  12. Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.
    James 2:26 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/jas.2.26.NLT

We have a saying in the healthcare field “use it or lose it”. Same goes for your faith. If you don’t actively use it then you’ll lose it. It’s like a muscle. If you don’t work it out, strengthen it, exercise it frequently the it can atrophy(wear down/wither). I say let’s get pumped up!! Let’s come boldly before the throne of God to give Him high praise and bring our BIG FAITH so we can see our BIG GOD do BIG THINGS!! In Jesus name!! #highexpectations

  13. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (14-17)
James compares faith without works to expressions of sympathy without giving an help . The latter is totally useless. in a same way a faith without works has no value at all. James is not comparing faith and works but two different kinds of faith
Demons believe God exists and they shudder
A faith that is all talk and no actions is no Faith at all

  14. James 2 -2-3 ( Amp) For if a person comes into your congregation whose hands are adorned with gold rings and who is wearing splendid apparel , And also a poor [ man or women] in snappy clothes comes in. [3] And you pay special attention to the splendid clothes and say to him or her , Sit here in this preferable seat ! Stand there ! or Sit there on the floor at My feet ! Are you not discriminating among your own and becoming critics and judges with wrong motives ? There room enough in the house of the Lord’s for everybody. Greet one another with love and respect .

  15. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KINGDOM FAITH = WORKS

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Some believe in the principal of we can’t do anything without GOD so we have to wait on HIM. This deceitful doctrine has handicapped, crippled and even killed many great works for GOD.

We are created in HIS image and after HIS likeness and HIS WORD declares:

Psalms 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Psalms 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Acts 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Our creator does not expect us to not sleep or slumber with him. However, the fact is established that GOD is at WORK for us and we should also be at WORK for HIM. If we do nothing for HIM then we are DEAD.

    The NLT reads:

17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
18 Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.[f] Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20 How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

So it is not an either or it is a FAITH with WORKS.

  16. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Choosing to trust God and his ways like Rahab did and protecting with your actions the men of God is evidence of works. We all are presented with choices to choose our own way, the ways of the world or God’s way. Standing up for Him and His word to others is so needed as our nation spirals down in sin. Be a witness of his mercy, grace and miracles – there are hungry people waiting for someone to lead them to God.

  17. 5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

  18. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Living faith is demonstrated by works.

We can’t “see” someone’s faith, but we can see their works. You can’t see faith without works, but you can demonstrate faith by works.

Even the demons had enough faith to believe that there is only one God. But they demonstrate dead faith, because there are no works with it.
It is still faith but it cannot save. We need living faith!

Our faith by our works will be proved by the fruits we produce.

  19. 5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

5 Hermanos míos amados, oíd: ¿No ha elegido Dios a los pobres de este mundo, para que sean ricos en fe y herederos del reino que ha prometido a los que le aman?

This is how other nations are rich in faith, because they HAVE NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO BELIEVE HIM FOR EVERY MORSEL OF FOOD.. and well us we are BLESSED so we find excuses not to have to have to trust HIM IN EVERYTHING. Here we think we have an option to pick and choose when we should or should not trust HIM, BUT THAT IS A LIE!!!

  20. 26Just as the body is dead without breath,i so also faith is dead without good works.

The very essence of our living is the ability to have breath in our body. If we can’t breath, then we die. That is the same as living for God. Having faith during our walk, we have to step out believing God has all control and he can direct our footsteps to where he wants us to go. Scripture states it very clear faith is dead without works. It’s like having a car but no gas. Without gas the car will not run. We ourselves have to work in the kingdom and do things for God in order to enhance our trust for one another. We have to continue to push ourselves past of the point that even though we do not see the promise we know it’s coming because God said it to be so.

Remember it is about building trust in God and not worrying about man, because man will fail all the time.

Seek first the kingdom of God and all your works for him will bring blessings.

    I love the Kingdom!

  21. iLove the Kingdom in Action
James 2:17  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Wow, this is a great scripture to start off Kingdom Outreach! We can believe God is going to bring folks into the Kingdom, but we have to be willing to go out into the fields and invite them. When I was a young feller, I would hear the ole school Pentecostal folks proclaim the fact that folks “don’t want the truth” so that’s why they don’t come to church. Back in them there days we would put up a church sign and open the doors on Sunday and expect the sinners to just run into the church. That is an example of faith without works yall. Check out verse #26, Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

There is a great revelation hidden right here in plain sight…think about it…

Faith is connected with our spirit and works are connected with our body.

Just as we need our spirit and body together, we also need faith and works together.

With our spirits we have faith and with our bodies we work.

Sit back and have faith folks are coming if you want, but for me and my house we will work and go and get them.

  22. I need to be able to open my heart and mind to his presence , Listen to His Voice and his word when he speaks …. Then do it

What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.

  23. 5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

The bible says the poor you will have with you always….we must reach for all types of people, poor, rich, learned, unlearned …. all of the above. God is no respecter of persons and neither should we.

Love all kinds. There’s a new book out that I’m going to read called everybody, always. I want to love everyone that comes through these doors like Jesus loves.
It takes all kind to grow a church so don’t be judgmental of people that come through the doors.

  24. 9 But if you favor some people over others, you are committing a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law.

Are you in the click or not? This concept show favoritism to some. Greet, invite and respect everyone. Treat others as you want to be treated.

  25. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
    James 2:10 KJV
I have a friend who keeps emphasizing keeping the Law even though he has the Holy Ghost and that is why when I see Scripture like this one, it speaks to me. The Law was our schoolmaster that showed us we are not perfect, (all have sinned) that we needed a Savior Jesus! We are not able to keep the whole Law, that’s why Jesus came, He could completely satisfy God’s righteous demand for justice. He paid it ALL!!!! Thank you Jesus!!!

  26. Yes indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

For the same God who said, “You must not commit adultery,” also said, “You must not murder.”
    James 2:8‭, ‬11a NLT

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
    Matthew 5:20 KJV

True faith will produce actions and attitudes that exceed the law and are reflected in our treatment of one another.

The law said, “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” but faith in Jesus moves you beyond the action to the attitude of the heart: lust. So Jesus said if you lust after someone, you are an adulterer.

Again, the law said, “Thou shalt not kill [murder],” but faith in Jesus addresses our attitudes and says, “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer…” (1 John 3:15a).

James points out that prejudice and discrimination are works of the heart that deny our faith in Christ by violating the royal law to love our neighbor as ourselves. This law meant that we were to treat others as we wanted to be treated, to be as good to others as we were to ourselves, to treat others as equal to ourselves. How could these men say they were believers when they weren’t even fulfilling the law of the Pharisees?

Jesus said: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another,” (John 13:34).

Faith in Jesus should move us beyond treating people with equality (as we love ourselves) to treating them with preference (as Jesus has loved us). Thus, faith should move us beyond love to sacrifice. We should not treat people, as these “believers” were, with preference to those who can benefit us. Rather, we should show preference to all men— especially those who need us to benefit them.

  27. James 2:2-4
    2) For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
    3) And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
    4) Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) (Eph. 6:9) and neither should we be.
Each person (rich or poor), who comes through the doors of the church, should be welcomed and treated with respect.
Let’s Love people the way JESUS Loves people!

  28. “My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others? For example, suppose someone comes into your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelry, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes. If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but you say to the poor one, “You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor”—well, doesn’t this discrimination show that your judgments are guided by evil motives?

But if you favor some people over others, you are committing a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭2:1-4, 9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Unfortunately we live in a world where this happens aften.
We as the church, believers of the word of God, we must NOT make any discrimination against any other people because of their social status, race, etc. We must show equal love and respect for anyone who comes to the church regardless of how rich, poor.
Are goal is to outreach the city of Fort Worth, there is going to be people coming from all walks of life, and we must be ready to walk forth and accept them as one of God’s chosen children. NO EXCEPTIONS of STATUS!!!

  29. “My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others

You don’t have Faith in Jesus If you favor people some people over others

  30. 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Without the Spirit of God, we are dead. We have no life without Him because He is the truth and the life. We all need Jesus to dwell in us. So faith without works is dead. That’s the beauty about faith, that it’s able to stretch and go to a next level. We all have a measure of faith and we need to exercise it so it can be build.

  31. James 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

  32. So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
    James 2:17 NLT

Our faith must push us to action. Action for the kingdom. It is in action where we find out A lot about ourselves and we start to become selfless.

  33. 14. What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? NLT

Notice that book in the Bible is called the Acts of the Apostles, not the Faith of the Apostles. Clearly they had faith, but until they put it into action, it wasn’t worth writing about.
If we want to show this world how good our God is, we can’t just have faith in Him, we have to put our faith in action and watch Him work!

  34. 2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

To show partiality shows that we care more for the outward appearance than we do upon the heart. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart .

  35. You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
    James 2:22‭-‬24 NIV

Isn’t our works, worked by faith? Isn’t it faith that gives us the fuel to do works for the kingdom? If we didn’t have faith in God that there would be an outcome from our work, what would be the point of the task? It’s pretty silly to do something for no reason. Even selfless acts of kindness that are done, just cause, have an outcome. It’s faith that gives us that drive. It’s faith that there will be an outcome. In regards to Abraham, he expected the task/work of sacrificing his son, would result in pain and heartache of loss. It was completely by faith in God that he was able to carry out the act. His faith gave him the fuel to drive a knife into his son.

Its faith that gives me the motivation to pray. It’s faith that motivates me to be more involved in church and it’s work of charity. It’s by faith I’m able to where a smile even when my world is falling apart and I’m having to work extra hard to hold it together. Faith in God gives me the want to do the work it takes to enter into his kingdom.

  36. 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

Faith alone is dead but when we put our Faith into Action as the Apostles did we are really walking in the Faith. We need to learn to allow our faith and our actions to work together in unity and not war against each other. When we learn to have unity within ourselves it will be easier to have unity with others. Let us understand that Just as the church is one body we alone are one body. Within our personal body, we must portray unity just as the church should portray unity. The Bible speaks in the Body of Christ the hand and the foot are both important parts of that one body. The same is true in us individually faith is not more important than our works, our speech, our love for others but all these things work together to portray a culture of Christ to those that may read our lives.

We must learn to have unity within in order to have unity without.

  37. James 2:21-23 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

We must have Works with Faith to be a Friend of God !

    Faith without works is dead!

  38. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Do we put our actions where our words are? Do we practice what we preach. We must demonstrate by love on action. We must do in faith.

  39. 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

Faith is like love, if you say you live someone, than you display that, you show that you love someone or care for someone by your actions, by doing something for them or being there for then or providing for them. What good is love if we just tell someone we love but do nothing about and mind our business?

In the same way how do we say we have faith if we dont display our faith for others to see? How do we have faith and yet do nothing? According to the scripture it is impossible. We need to show we have faith by our actions, by telling people our testimony. By boldly proclaiming the word of God. By doing what the word of God tells us to do
Faith is more than being encouraged and believing something will happen. It is a thing on the believe because you believe Jesus is on your side!

  40. “But you dishonor the poor! Isn’t it the rich who oppress you and drag you into court?”
‭‭# be nice to the poor🤗😀

  41. “Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That’s just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads! Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭2:19-20‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I really loved the way the message version worded this particular part of the passage. It literally puts us and demons on the same level when we lack works of faith in our life.

  42. 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

How important it is not to offend. How important It is to not only follow the law but to follow it fully and completely.

  43. “Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭2:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How often to we find ourselves judging someone, or placing someone’s name in our mouth. Here’s a thought pray for them. Pray for thine adversary, pray for those people that don’t have it all together. The last thing you wanna do is make a call on someone’s judgement because then that’s partial on your part. I wanna be whole and complete with Jesus I don’t wanna be half hearted or a partial Christian I wanna be all in.
