1 Peter 1

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

  1. Being sober minded, and being focused setting your eyes upon Jesus the author and protector of our faith. But, let Christ Jesus be revealed unto the lost and be saved!

    13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

    “Keep your eye on Jesus”……..

  2. Verses 13-16 MSG “So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.” In verse 15 in the CEV it says “Always live as God’s holy people should, because God is the one who chose you, and he is holy.” You have been chosen by God; so, do not allow any negative thinking, harsh words or disobedience try to creep in and steal what you have. Let the Lord shape you and mold you into what He desires for you to be.

  3. 1:6
    Because of this hope of the redemption of the body and of a glorious inheritance , bile era con greatly rejoice even in the midst of trials . The Christians to whom Peter was writing were suffering perseacution boca use of their testimony for Christ peter remind them of one of the delightful paradoxes of Christianity joy in the midst of sorrow . On the one hand they can rejoice in the prospect of a kept inheritance for a kept people . On the other hand , they cin find joy in the knowledge that the various trials are only for a little while, whereas the glory will be forever ( see 2 cor. 4:17 ). Commenting on the presence of joy un the midst of grief caused by numerous trials .

  4. 7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

    I believe what Peter was writing here was very interesting to know when you are going to face trials. He stated in verse 7!that your trial being much more precious than gold though it be tried by fire might be found unto praise and honor and glory when Jesus appears. No matter the circumstances the only thing to remember is that God will not put more on you than you can bare both physically and spiritually.

    I have found the saying “what doesn’t kill you will only make you stronger” I think we need to add, that which doesn’t kill you will give you a greater hope and faith. If we believe that God is, then he will reward those that diligently seek him. We are giving blessings beyond our understanding. He is also a God that will stick with us and not forsake us. When the going gets tough then we need to get to praising him. Remember dead men don’t dance, don’t praise and they can not even pray for things.

    We have remember that faith without works are dead. That includes the task of coming through trials and tribulations. The word of God does not inoculate us from temptations or anything that this world throws at us. We are needing to praise Hod for all he has done, all he is doing and most of all what he is going to do. Scripture tells us it’s joy unspeakable and full of Glory.

    Psalms 16:11 states-
    11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

    This is what we get when we first seek the kingdom of God.

    I love the Kingdom!

  5. God the Father decided to choose you as his people, and his Spirit has made you holy. You have obeyed Jesus Christ and are sprinkled with his blood. I pray that God will be kind to you and will keep on giving you peace!
    1 Peter 1:2 CEV
    From the beginning of time, I have been created to live a holy life, and live a Victorious Life. I may not understand some of the things i go through, the deep pain that as a wife i may feels or as a mother feels as they see and watch their children grow as they learn in sone hardships. I must remember in whom i belong to and have believed., GOD the author and finisher of my faith!!

  6. 18. For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value.

    19. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. NLT

    For His blood was not just blood
    Of another spotless lamb
    But His blood was precious blood
    For it wash the sins of man
    And His blood, it heals my body
    And it sets my spirit free
    And I’m so glad this precious blood
    Still flows from Calvary

    No other blood
    Could heal my broken body
    And no other blood
    Could save my sin-sick soul
    And no other blood
    Could conquer death
    And win the victory
    No other blood
    But the blood Jesus shed for me

  7. 1 Peter 1:14 (Amp) [ Live ] as children of obedience [ to God ] ; do not conform yourselves to the evil desires [ that governed you] in your former ignorance [ when you did not know the requirements of the Gospel].But as the One Who called you is holy in all your conduct and manner living. For it is written You shall be holy, for I am holy. But first the kingdom of God, Repentance, Believe, Faith, and Prayer, fasting.

  8. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

    Holiness is not an outward expression, we can stand in the sanctuary and hands lifted high and are we holy, what are our motives? We can like REV Dillon said we can wear a skirt all the way to the floor, with the best bun, and the bible in our arms, but yes we are a picture of Holiness, we are the image of an Apostolic Woman, I always had been taught to never judge a book by its cover! We can walk the walk and talk to he talk, but am I living the life, am I only praying in front of everyone at church, or in the prayer room, am I only reading the word during service, I may can fool some people but God is not going to be fooled! He knows our life style, he knows the part of our life where we are doing well, and the part where we struggle, Holiness is not a part time thing, we are always supposed to be Holy, There is a difference between being Holier than thou, and Holy, God is a Holy God who expects us to give him our very best!
    2Tim 2:21
    21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
    For me, Istrive to be Holy, and I fall short like Paul says we have to die daily, I am so grateful to be where I am from where I used to be even last year! I know that God is a loving and compassionate God, With being said, He knows what he wants, and he expects nothing short of Holiness from us, God is not a God of excuses, He said Be Holy for I am Holy
    1Peter 1:16
    But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, ‘Be ye holy; for I am holy,’” (1 Peter 1:15-16).

  9. for you have been born again [that is, reborn from above–spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] not of seed which is perishable but [from that which is] imperishable and immortal, that is, through the living and everlasting word of God. For, “All flesh is like grass , And all its glory like the flower of grass . The grass withers A nd the flower falls off , But the word of the Lord endures forever .” And this is the word [the good news of salvation] which was preached to you.
    1 PETER 1:23‭-‬25 AMP
    Ok so our glory is like the flower; here today gone tomorrow. We are like dust in the wind. On this rock a short time, but it’s what do we do with that time that counts. I could sit here like a bump on a log and just stare at things as they go by. I could join the hustle and bustle of the world; try to get rich. Sceme my way up a corporate ladder. Make money the illegal way. Nope: I would rather store my riches in heaven and bring those that I can to Christ. God knows each and everyone of us; He knows our heart and our mind. We maybe iffy when it comes to God, but He is always the same when it comes to us. I know that; because I have heard His voice even when I backslid. Anything that we need is in this book. The plan of salvation; how God’s word became flesh. All we have to do is seek after His Kingdom through His word. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus the same yesterday, today and forevermore. It’s all right there and there are different versions to help us understand His truth. Jesus help me this day to seek Your Kingdom through the power of Your word.

  10. From this chapter I learned that we should not be carried away with things of this world but be consuming of the Lord our savior. So make sure God has some time during your day too. We need to pray through our jobs, schools, and houses so everyone will have the opportunity to reach him. GO TEAM POFW!!! REACH OUT!!😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

  11. “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    Let’s think of our five senses
    Feel
    Taste
    Hear
    See
    Smell
    I wanna guard these senses from the World.
    We can think of the most common things we’re guarding already. Our eyes and our ears, these two things is what got them in trouble to begin with. Eve was deceived by the VOICE of the serpent the persuasion, and Adam was deceived by the SIGHT of Eves persuasion. How original I know…I just don’t think it’s really considered whhen we’re allowing worldly things to be in our life. Music for example, it’s crucial it’s a weapon used against us and so many fall because of it. Or things we watch on them monitors, someone gave me a valid point they said whatever you put on tv you’re inviting that spirit in your home. You’re inviting whatever god that’s being entertained. So guard those things, the study could go so much deeper than all of this but just be Holy I wish we could grab on to this and take it everywhere we go. We’re not laughing at carnal jokes, or telling them.
    We want the glory of the Lord to shine on us so we can share the world what we got going on with Jesus. We will attract them to the Holy Ghost!

  12. 22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
    23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
    24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
    25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

    The Word of the Lord is the foundation of which we can build on. It is established in the Kingdom. When we read it, and do it, that is when it becomes something. It’s one thing to read it and say, nice story. But when we decide to live it and do it, watch out. In a world where it’s the norm to be pleasers of self, when we live a life that is Kingdom based, many people will see it. First the Kingdom.
    Young people- you may like this christian stuff is a bunch of hype, but it’s not. It’s a life style, and life long commitment. I pray that when you read Gods Word that you allow it to penetrate your heart and life style. That you can build a life on the Words of what God has spoken to us.

    • Funny you said it’s the norm . I used the same words this morning in my blog. True if we are going to be different we cannot” be the norm “
      11 Corinthians 6:17
      Be the separate.
      Thank you for reassuring what I had just written about “the norm”.

  13. 9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

    Keeping faith in Jesus and his Word will bring us salvation and an eternity in Heaven with Him.

  14. “But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.””
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    The Bible teaches us in the old and New Testament to be holy just as God is holy, that means to be set apart.
    We as humans our nature is anything but holy, and we must be careful on giving our sinful desires power over us, how?

    “So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Holiness is an ongoing lifetime process called sanctification. The Holy Spirit is the one who work in us to sanctify us and make us more like Jesus over time. What the Spirit of God does is to make us holy by convicting us of our sin, bringing us to repentance and confession of sin, and driving us to the cross for the mercy of God through Jesus Christ while making us live a life that is more pleasing to God.
    We can’t get holy by our best efforts. It takes the power of the Holy Spirit to make the children of God live holy lives.

    We are not holy by nature but wicked, evil and even our hearts can deceive us, but God knows we need a heart transplant.

    “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭36:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    If we receive a new heart ;

    “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    We must continually pray and read the word of God applying it to our lives and be filled with the Holy Ghost to live our lives pleasing to God.

  15. 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
    16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
    17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

    I recently read an article where a father was sending off his child to stay the night with a friend and he left them with these words ” remember who you are and who you belong to” and it really struck a chord because if we understood our priesthood and belonging to our father and we would hold ourselves to a much higher standard of living and learn there’s some things we just don’t need to partake in whether they are sinful or not. Whenever you have and identity with Christ you will speak things that glorify God at all times. We must remember that what we say truly matters and what we do will have a forever impact how many eternity

  16. 22 You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.
    23 For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. (NLT)

    Love others because He loves you. Once we’re saved we become a part of His eternal body. It then becomes our job to be the body of Christ and share His love.

  17. Thank you Jesus, my father of all things in me and this life

    All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.

  18. iLove the Kingdom in Action
    1 Peter 1:22  Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

    This is yet another scripture that shows us the importance of unity. Back in the day, families loved and cared for one another and the terms, “brother and sister” was a term of endearment used to show folks we were all family. In todays society, brothers and sisters fight like cats and dogs and rarely love one another. We must change the culture of the family if we want the unity and purity that is gained by obeying the truth.

  19. 17 You call out to God for help and he helps—he’s a good Father that way. But don’t forget, he’s also a responsible Father, and won’t let you get by with sloppy living.

    If God is really our father, if he really loves us like a father, and more than our earthly fathers, then surely his love is amazing, his acceptance total. I love my children. I would do anything for them. But can God really love me like that—more than that? This is one of the truths that my hearts—with all my jacked up human experiences—just cannot seem to accept. For some, comparing God’s love to that of an earthly father is more painful than promising.

    As a father I will always love my children. No matter what they do. No matter where they go. I will be here for them. I’m not walking out. They might. I won’t. Still, it’s difficult to consider that God loves me more, loves me better, than that. That’s what it means for him to be a perfect father. Imagine the best father you know. God is infinitely better than that. Consider your love, if you are a parent, for your children. God’s love is infinitely better than that.

  20. 1 Peter 1
    13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

    14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

    15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

    16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

    The mind is filled with past present and future
    Once we have come into the power of the Holy Ghost we still have to learn how to allow God to change the old way of thinking into His way of thinking. We cannot change the past but must allow God to get rid of what Jeff Arnold calls stinkin thinkin. The ways of the world . I’m amazed at how many Christians pick up euphemisms which are words in place of a curse word. The old way or mind .
    We slip back into or never have learned to change our conversation. Why use the words of the world to express the way we may be feeling. Someone told me recently “oh it’s the norm” it may be the norm for the world but it should not creep into the church and if we are not careful it does. We can have the mind God wants us to have and we can change our conversation. Time prayer and challenges of rising to a higher level in God.
    God said be Holy because He was Holy . It starts in the heart then our thinking and it will show up in our conversation. God help me to choose my words wisely and allow my conversation be that which is pleasing to you.
    . t. Romans 8:9 says, “You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

  21. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KINGDOM LIFESTYLE = HOLINESS

    15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
    16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

    The apostle James gave us convicting insight into the power of our tongue and the damage or faith that accompanies the words we speak. The apostle Peter seems to pick up the same pen here and challenge us to HOLINESS.

    Peters FIRST mention of holiness has to do with conversation, what we speak, what we talk about, the words we say and the promises we make. Lets define some words in the Greek:

    HOLY – 40. hagios; from hagos (an awful thing) (compare 53, 2282); sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated): — (most) holy (one, thing), saint.

    CONVERSATION – 391. ajnastrofh/ anastropheœ; from 390; behavior: — conversation.
    390. anastrepho; to overturn; also to return; by implication, to busy oneself, i.e. remain, live: — abide, behave self, have conversation, live, overthrow, pass, return, be used.

    We must understand the power of the tongue and the words we speak to fully understand the value of this passage. Seeing that the definition has much more to deal with than just what we say. So why the word conversation? I believe we can best answer this question with scripture:

    Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

    JESUS reveals the connection of conversation and condition; revealing that the 2 will match. Murmuring, complaining, false accusation, lying, empty promises, broken commitments and empty vows all reveal that a person is not HOLY regardless of their attire or isolations.

    Attire and isolations from this carnal world are extremely important and do express the KINGDOM LIFESTYLE = HOLINESS but these lifestyle expressions alone do not separate us wholly. The integrity of our words reveal the true condition of our heart.

    BE HOLY, GOD is HOLY!

    1 Peter 1:6‭-‬7 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/1pe.1.6-7.NLT

    A lot of times we think that we’re being attacked front by the enemy but in fact our trials and our struggles are just means in which God uses to pull out the impurities to refine us like precious gold. He uses the same means to ripen the fruit of the spirit within us:-)

  23. 1 Peter 1:8 (nlt), “You love Him even though you have never seen Him. Though you do not see Him now, you trust Him; and you rejoice with a glorious inexpressible joy.”
    1 Peter 1:8 (voice), “Although you haven’t seen Jesus, you still love Him. Although you don’t yet see Him, you do believe in Him and celebrate with a joy that is glorious and beyond words.”

    JESUS, I Love You!
    JESUS, I Believe and Trust in You!!
    JESUS, I Rejoice in You with Great Joy!!!

    Jesus said to Thomas in St. John 20:29, “… Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

  24. Thank you for sharing… I am. Ew to all this and I’ve been reading and sometimes don’t understand what it all means and then I come on here and read the comments and it really opens me up to see things I had just skimed over.

  25. 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
    8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
    9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

    We receive everything in the Kingdom by faith, and we all have a measure of it given to us. By faith we believe in God as creator, by faith we received the Holy Ghost and by faith we believe our sins were washed away in baptism. And we will receive our salvation with the same faith as we endure until the end. It just takes a mustard seed size of faith but I want to have great faith to believe for miracles signs and wonders!

  26. “So prepare your minds for action, be completely sober [in spirit–steadfast, self-disciplined, spiritually and morally alert], fix your hope completely on the grace [of God] that is coming to you when Jesus Christ is revealed. [Live] as obedient children [of God]; do not be conformed to the evil desires which governed you in your ignorance [before you knew the requirements and transforming power of the good news regarding salvation]. But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves in all your conduct [be set apart from the world by your godly character and moral courage]; because it is written, “Y OU SHALL BE HOLY (set apart), FOR I AM HOLY.””

    In this passage the phrase that got my attention was “prepare your minds for action.” A lot of our issues and battles are from our mind. This passage of scripture instructs us to be sober in spirit to be self disciplined spiritually and morally alert. Another words don’t let your guard down. Be spiritually watchful and self disciplined to stay on the right path. Now is not the time to go off course. The coming of the Lord is near. We will be a better witness to the world by letting His light shine through us. By being holy as he is holy. Let’s not conform to this world.

  27. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

    Trails are not to destroy us but to build us up and transform us into what God wants us to be. How can we have testimonies if we don’t go through trials? How can we witness if we don’t have faith in God? Having faith and building that faith is what is going to help us reach that finish line that we all want to finish. We all want to go to heaven but we don’t want to fight for it. We can’t have salvation for free, we have to build our faith stay rooted and keep fighting the good fight. We can’t let the enemy steal what God has given us. #Firstthekingdom

  28. Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

    6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

    • We are kept by the power of god through faith and salvation to be revealed for the last time we greatly rejoice for a season if need are in heaven through temptations

  29. 6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.

    8 You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.

    True Joy comes from the Lord.

    Neh 8:10 “10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

  30. 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

    YES!!! WE ARE BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE!!! WE HAVE THE TRUTH, WE KNOW THE TRUTH , THE TRUTH IS TO BE LIVED!!! If you are sitting on the side lines, then you are not living the TRUTH!!! WE’VE got to walk it, talk it, sing it, breathe it, we’ve got to LIVE IT!!! WE ARE MISSING OUT IF WE AREN’T LIVING IT. Thank you JESUS, for great leadership!!! HALELUJAH!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY°°

  31. I Peter 1:13-16 MSG.
    So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.”

    Be ready without spot or blemish and that is by keeping the Kingdom first in our lives.

  32. 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

    15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

    16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

    When God called us to holiness, He called us to be set apart.

    Fulfilling God’s call to holiness requires that we, as obedient children, set ourselves apart from the lifestyle of the world.

    He did not just push us out into the world and tell us to live holy, but He first set the example for holiness!

  33. AMP – 8 Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not even see Him now, you believe and trust in Him and you greatly rejoice and delight with inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 receiving as the result [the outcome, the consummation] of your faith, the salvation of [a]your souls.

    Living by Faith – it takes faith, even though we don’t realize it to live for the Lord. We love someone we have never seen. We put our trust in someone we have never seen, yet we feel His presence continually. We hear His voice whisper wisdom and guidance to us, yet we have never seen Him, we believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. All of this is living by faith.

    If we can trust God enough to put our whole existence into His hands, to trust Him with out whole being, why cannot we not trust Him to provide all of our needs, and be faithful in giving back to Him what He has blessed us with? That baffles me at times – why people would trust their eternal soul to someone they don’t trust their finances with?

    I believe in Him, I trust Him. He knows the way that I take, my down sittings and my uprisings. He knows my coming and my going, and most importantly He knows me thoughts and the intents of my heart. I trust that all things will work out for my good according to His riches in glory. I will live by faith!

  34. “…resulting in an inheritance, imperishable and undefiled, and that does not fade away, which inheritance has been laid up and IS NOW KEPT GUARDED in safe deposit in heaven for you who ARE CONSTANTLY BEING KEPT GUARDED by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed…”
    1 Pet. 1:4-5 Wuest Expanded Translation

    “And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, KEEP through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I KEPT THEM in thy name: those that thou gavest me I HAVE KEPT…I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that THOU SHOULDEST KEEP THEM from the evil [one].
    John 17:11‭-‬12, 15 KJV

    But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard [keep] you from the evil one.
    2 Thessalonians 3:3 HCSB

    There are several words in the NT that are translated “to keep” or “to keep guarded.” Among these, Strong’s lists the following (with definitions taken from the Blue Letter Bible Interlinear Reference page):

    #5083 tēreō: to guard from loss or injury by keeping the eye upon; to keep one in the state in which he is; TO RESERVE; to withhold (set aside) for personal ends (or for a specific purpose)

    #5432 phroureō: to keep; TO PROTECT BY GUARDING; keep with a Garrison or by military guard; to prevent hostile attack or invasion; TO PRESERVE one for the attainment of something; to watch IN ADVANCE; to mount guard as a sentinel; to hem in

    #5442 phylassō: to guard; to keep WATCH OVER, have an eye upon; to keep safe; to protect; TO GUARD FROM BEING LOST or perishing; to care for; to guard for (or unto) one’s self: TO PRESERVE

    The first, 5083, is used in the above verses in reference to both us, as the children of God, and to our inheritance in Heaven. Thus, we have an inheritance that has been reserved for us specifically, and we have been set aside (reserved) specifically by the Spirit and blood of Christ for that reservation. We are the reserved of God.

    The latter two entries, #5432 and #5442, are used in reference to the Reserved (us). We are guarded in advance of all attack. We are PROTECTED and PRESERVED from the enemy. We are watched over by military might and cared for and kept from perishing.

    We, as blood-bought born-again believers in Christ, have been called out and set aside for an inheritance in Heaven with our name on it, which is incorruptible and unending. Moreover, we are preserved by the power and care of God, and all His heavenly host, unto the day of His return (or our death) when we appear before Him to keep our reservation and receive our inheritance.

    God is our Good Shepherd and we are the watched-over, protected sheep of His pasture. We have been called by His name and reserved for His service. Furthermore, we will be preserved as we perform it. We are the anointed, appointed, empowered, commissioned, and heavily-guarded children of The Almighty God.

    We may go through trials, heartaches, disappointments and suffering. We may be attacked on every side and have our faith thoroughly put through the fire, but as long as we remain faithful and obedient, the enemy CANNOT keep us from our heavenly reservation. WE ARE THE KEPT of GOD.

    “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the Lord , that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord , and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.”
    Psalms 27:1‭-‬6 KJV

  35. 13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

    To gird up the loins of your mind is to get rid of loose and sloppy thinking; to bring the rational and reflective powers of your mind under control. It means to control what you think about, those things you decide to set your mind upon.

  36. 1 Peter 1:12,25
    12) Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

    25) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

    I thank God our Pastor is Spitit filled.

  37. 8 You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.

    We have faith, we believe, we trust in God. We live for God by serving him, and doing good deeds. For those who don’t believe, because they can’t see him. They should live for God, cause they have alot to lose. If there is no God, we as Christians don’t have nothing to lose.

  38. 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

    16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

    17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

    Dont engage in crude conversation or in cursing or in your mannerisms and attitude. But let everything you do reflect the God you serve.

  39. 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

    15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

    When you know better you do better. God has called us to be holy. We should conduct ourselves as such by Growing in his word.

  40. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (vs-15)
    The Living Bible Paraphrased
    But be Holy now in every thing you do just as the Lord is Holy who invited you to be his child. vs-16: He himself has said you must be holy because i am holy
    Old Testament holiness called for Israel to separate from every thing ritually or morally impure. New Testament holiness calls for living morally pure lives despite the fact that we must live in sinful human society. We are to be holy in all we do abstain from sinful desires and live among the pagans around us .

  41. “This letter is from Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to God’s chosen people who are living as foreigners in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.”
    ‭‭

    This letter is from paul

  42. “For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.”
    ‭#be born again 😜👼🏻

  43. If you address as Father, the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in [reverent] fear [of Him] and with profound respect for Him throughout the time of your stay on earth .
    1 PETER 1:17 AMP
    https://bible.com/bible/1588/1pe.1.17.AMP

    Live holy and with respect to God. This really got me thinking of how we humans act around each other. With some we are more comfortable with and allow ourselves to get our guards down, with others we respect and honor they title or rank. For example, in a work setting when the District Manager is in town every one is on their best behavior and ensures all things are being done right. Well this spoke to me that our Lord is the Creator, Author, and Manager of it all. He owns it all. And we are being asked to honor him by living holy and with respect to him. After all, he sees all things and he is the judge of all. Of we can be on our best behavior for a worldly authority, how much more shall we live holy lives, separate and sanctified for the one who has ALL AUTHORITY. JESUS.

  44. 15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
    16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
    17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

    ho·ly
    /ˈhōlē/
    adjective
    1. 1.
dedicated or consecrated to God or a religious purpose; sacred.

    Stay dedicated, consecrated to God, true, honest, and holy in all every type of conversation. Formal and informal.

    con·ver·sa·tion
    /ˌkänvərˈsāSH(ə)n/
    noun
    1. a talk, especially an informal one, between two or more people, in which news and ideas are exchanged.

  45. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
    1 Peter 1:22 KJV

    Here is my version of this verse:
    Now that you are born again because you obeyed the truth of the Gospel, see to it (or ensure) that you love with a pure heart. In other words, love with a pure motive. In addition, now that you are loving your brothers and sisters, do it fervently and not half-heartedly (like Pastor preached tonight).

  46. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,
    1 Peter 1:3 NLT

    Thank you Jesus for your mercy cause if it hadn’t been for your mercy, I wouldn’t be here. I would still be in sin with no hope but thanks to your love and mercy I have a purpose, a calling and am able to live with great expectation.

  47. The truth is forever! If the word of God endureth the truth will endureth!

    25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

    The Gospel will be preached till the coming of Jesus!

  48. 13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
    14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
    15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

    So many times we forget that it is only because of our revelation of who Jesus is , that we have a chance to live for eternity with Him.

  49. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
    1 Peter 1:8 NIV

  50. Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

    Here’s one for the trinitarians. Christ according to the trinitarians is the son of God, and is co-equal with the Father and the HG. They are 3 but they are 1. Does this make any sense? Of course not! It’s a bunch of confusion.

    So this is when little gold nuggets like this one come along and just throw trinitarians for a spin, because it disproves there narrative. The reason Peter in this letter, and the other writers just use verbiage like this is because they had the revelation of the Oneness doctrine.

    This bible mentions different religious ideas that existed in biblical times, none with were the trinity. Which is a more modern false doctrine, born at he Necian Council.

  51. “…Not one is missing, not one forgotten. God the Father has his eye on each of you..”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:1

    Even when we feel like we are at our lowest with no one or nowhere to turn to we can be sure that we are not forgotten. God will never leave us nor forsake us. We just need to be strong in the Lord and know that he will provide a way in whatever situation we are in.

  52. 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

    If we believe in God and trust him completely with our whole heart when hard times come (the trial of our faith) it will not move us. Because we know it takes a trail to shape us. To make a sword out of iron you have to get the metal red hot then the maker takes a hammer and starts to hit the iron the none shaped sword. It is through the hits and chipping away of the none needed metal that the sword comes to life.
    But to get the perfect sword the metal had to go through some hot, and uncomfortable situations to come forth perfect or complete. Same with us God is creating in us a good work but he has to shape us and chip away the things that we don’t need that would keep us from being sharp. It is through hard times our faith is tested is proven. Ephesians 6:10-20 put on the armour of God. The shield of faith. What makes the shield of faith great? When in battle the men would have to faith that the shield was going to hold. That the shield was going to protect them. The same is in our walk with God we are in battles everyday fighting the good fight of faith. When we use our shield of faith we must whole heartedly believe in God and his word. That nothing can come against us that we can’t handle.
    We must believe and trust God through the trail.

  53. “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:8-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Searching—Seeking

    We must continue seeking after God. We have more faith now to believe in things unseen than those who watched it happen. Through faith we have salvation. And through faith we continue to seek things even the angels want to know about. We can’t stop looking.

  54. 4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

    With busy lives and many things going on around us it is so easy to put in the back of our Minds that God loves us this much. Just think about it everything around us that we see and experience each day has either an Expiration date or can be destroyed in some way. Yet what God has for us will not fade, will not wither away, is reserved for us.

    This is not like a reservation at a restaurant it cannot be given away it cannot expire. Thank you Jesus for your love and what you have for us.
