2 Peter 2

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

11 Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

  1. 1But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. 2Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. 3In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

4For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell,a in gloomy pits of darkness,b where they are being held until the day of judgment. 5And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood. (NLT)

As the days count down and we get closer to the coming of God I find that the more I look around the more I understand what The book of Timothy was saying in 2 Timothy 3:

1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

There will be a great falling away and many will try to turn the truth into something that is not effective in saving but will be effective in causing damnation to them that will believe the watered down theology. We find that even Jesus began to warn the disciples that there will be a great deception with false doctrines in Mark 13:

5And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 6For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 7And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

9But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

If we keep the faith and trust in the word of God, Jesus assures us the we the endure to the very end, the same will be saved. I find the more the world grows chaotic, the more I see the word keeping me and lifting me up in spirit and in truth. Because Jesus the author and finisher of my faith will keep my mind, body and spirit safe in the palms of his hands. If we just continue to seek the kingdom, we will find that when that trumpet sounds, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye we will be called away to meet him in the air and to be forever with him in Glory. BecUse everyday I find that this world is not my home, I’m just passing through.

    I love the Kingdom!

  2. Verse 9 ERV “So you see that the Lord God knows how to save those who are devoted to him. He will save them when troubles come. And the Lord will hold evil people to punish them on the day of judgment.” Psalm 46:1 AMP says “God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.”

Verse 20 ERV “People can be made free from the evil in the world. They can be made free by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But if they go back into those evil things and are controlled by them, then it is worse for them than it was before.” I won’t turn back, I won’t turn back, now as the song that we sing says. We must stay focused on Jesus and stay clear of false teachings. John 10:27-28 KJV “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

  3. 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

After being delivered we should not go back into bondage. God makes a way for us to overcome our temptations. We would be foolish to be born again and go back to our old ways. Verse 21 really is true because when you go back to sin after learning the truth and knowing it’s wrong it makes it harder to go back to God knowing you disobeyed him. This is why it is best to take the way of escape he provides to us. I would rather wait in faith than be a dog that returns to its own vomit.

  4. 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

What’s it gonna be???….. GOD can use us for HIS GLORY, or HE CAN USE US FOR HIS GLORY….HA!!! EITHER WAY HE WILL BE GLORIFIED!!! HE ALWAYS GETS THE GLORY!!! …….So let’s do this again……will we be used of GOD on how to be disobedient children of GOD or will we be used to Glorify GOD being the lite and salt to the soul seeking THE ONE TRUE LIVING GOD!?! HALELUJAH!!! TO CHOOSE YOU DADDY IS TO TRULY LIVE!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY!!!

  5. 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

Be careful for who speaks into your life or what you entertain, not every one who advises you and tells you what you want is speaking on behalf of God. I used to love flattery and those that would try to speak positive things even if it wasn’t what I needed to hear. There are plenty of those out there that will attempt to say things to you that sound good to itchy ears. The ones that love us the most are the ones that will tell us both good and had according to our need not wants

  6. We need to be careful and keep praying for if we astray from the word of god we might backslide. For there will be those wolves, that pastor was preaching about sunday night, lingering and waiting for you to slip.

Don’t let your flesh tempt you. Don’t listen to the wolves. We can, and we will be strong in the word to keep moving towards jesus for he is good.

  7. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

Once we know the truth, we must protect that knowledge through diligent study of the word and fellowship with true believers, being careful not to believe and lie and be drawn away by teachers of false doctrines. to leave the truth and/or return to worldly ways is worse than not knowing at all.

  8. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

I have always been the type to run, I dont like facing things, but this last time, it was bad, like never before, when you’ve tasted, when you’ve been touched by God, it’s something that I missed, I was angry and hurting, but I put holiness aside, and rebelled because I was hurt, because I was bitter, but how many times have I hurt God, and he never walked away, he was still there, and guess what, and I learned that just because we backslide or leave the church God expects us to be Holy, because he lives in us! I think people in the situation is in a bitter state, and they have allowed the enemy to twist the words of the Lord, they allowed him to manipulate their mind, but if we only just repent, it’s funny because people dont want to give up certain things, so I cant go to church because I love foot ball or racing, but if only they knew! Dakota I challenged him to ask his Mom and moms Boyfriend to come to church, and he said they cant come because of TV shows that they want to watch, I said, ok. ask them anyways, God is doing GREAT THINGS in our family, we cant give up now, we’ve come to far from where we started from!

  9. It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”
    2 Peter 2:21‭-‬22 NLT
My my my; here we go again and again. Oh it’s ok that you knew God and His truth. You’re saved my friend; go do as you please. HA HA!! Lies straight from the pits of hell. Just because I got baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost doesn’t mean that I can go back to doing my old things. The old needs to pass away: so that the new can restore me. God knows about the things that are going on; we don’t need to say a word. Man will say or do anything to bring down the Kingdom, but guess what you can’t tear down that which is eternal in creating the universe. Think about this; 🤔 God destroyed man in the time long before Jesus walked among us; why. Because we were full of evil; this rock had very few that were righteous. People did as they chose and didn’t care. To what end; their very own demise.
Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.
    2 Peter 2:2 NLT
There it is; 🤯 the reason we destroy ourselves. We put what man considers the truth over the truth that been here since the beginning. God’s word has been here since forever. How many have to go by the way of destruction before man comes to the knowledge that God can save us. Lord help me to go in your Name and seek those that are lost. Give me the courage to step out in faith and to tell people of Your great news.

  10. 2:7
The same God who visits destruction on the ungodly rescues the righteous . Peter illustrates this by the experience of lot. It we had only the OT account of Lot , we night not think him a true believer at all . In the Genesis account , he almost appears as a statusseeking opportunist , willing to put up with sin and corruption in order to make a place and name for himself in the world. But Peter , writing by inspiration , tells us that he was a righteous man who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked .God saw that Lot had genuine faith , and that he loved righteousness and hated sin. To emphasize that Lot really was a righteous man in spite of appearances to the contrary , Peter repeats that his soul was tormented daily by the thing he heard and saw in sodom . The vile immorality of the people caused him deep suffering.

  11. 9. The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

God delivered Noah and Lot out of what was going on around them, but only after they were obedient and waited on God’s timing.
Like they did, we must continue to do what we know is right despite what the world is doing around us, be obedient, and wait on God’s timing.

    Galatians 6:
    8. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

    9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

  12. And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”

There’s such a firm warning here. We have to know the truth for ourselves so we are not swept away by heresies/false teachers. I’m so thankful for the Word of God and the unblurred Truth that erupts from it’s pages.

Jesus, I pray for those that were taken over by deception and fell away from the Church. God, I pray that they turn from their lifestyles and once again come into your house with broken humble hearts. I also pray that we meet You everyday in prayer so you may inspect us, that way we should live without blemish. In Jesus Name!!! Amen

  13. 11 Peter 2:20-21 (Amp) For it, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through [ the full, personal] knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again becomes entangled in them and are overcome, their last comdition is worse [ for them] than the first. [22] There has befallen them the thing spoken of in the true proverb. The dog turns back to His own vomit and, The sow is washed only to wallow again in the mite.As a dog returns to His vomit, so a fool returns to His folly.Do you see a man wise in his own eyes and conceit ? There is more hope for a
[ self-confident] fool than for him. Once we learn the truth you need to protect it. Don’t be deceived by false doctrines or false teachers that are leading people away from the truth. Stay in the Word and keep it in your heart. I blessed you in the name of the of Jesus.

  14. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. nlt version

The price that Jesus paid can never be out bidden by nothing. My heart aches for those people that are bound and trapped by the sin of this world. My heart aches even more for the ones that don’t know or don’t care at all if they’re in sin. i send my deepest prayers up to the Lord today for those particular people that in what I call “careless sin”. Don’t strike me too bad because what i mean by “careless sin” is these particular individuals don’t care if they’ve messed up or fell off the wagon. Almost like if they’ve hit a quitting point in their walk and now they’re just going through the motions. So my prayer is sent up for those people, that they will get it together and find their way of escape and find the righteous path God will order their feet on. Pray for the slaves of sin everybody, their lives are on the lines.

  15. So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment.
    2 Peter 2:9 NLT

You may live surrounded by temptation, you may face temptation everyday, but God delivers the godly. He knows His people and He rescues the faithful. Resist the devil and he will flee. Resist temptation and God will deliver you. “It may look like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by You!”

  16. 2 Peter 2:1-2
    1) BUT there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
    2) And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

This is why in yesterday’s chapter, Peter wanted to give them a “Friendly Reminder” of what to do to never fall. He knew there were false teachers out there speaking things contrary to the doctrine of truth, and there would be many who would follow their harmful ways.

2 Thess. 2:3, “Let no man deceive you by any means…”
1 John 3:7, “Little children, let no man deceive you…”
This is why we got to KNOW what the WORD says, and STAND STRONG, steadfast and unmovable, in the TRUTH, so we are not so soon shaken, deceived, and lead astray.

  17. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

Wow. We can be delivered from any sin, yet if we turn back to it, it will be worse than before we knew the saving power of God. When I read this I was wondering how, and the Jesus reminded me of a favorite shirt I wore a long time ago. It was a royal blue polo, it fit perfectly and the color was bright and bold. However, as time progressed and i wore it at least twice a week, the color started to fade and the shirt began to stretch out. Because it was dirty, I would wash it just as anyone would. But because it kept getting Dirty, I kept going back to wash it. But it never fit right and the color was never as bright as the first time I washed it and wore it.
Yes, we all have sinned, and yes, we are saved by His Love, mercy and grace. Yet if we keep going back too that sin, every time it gets just a bit harder to come back to the saving grace.
I pray as we continue to keep the Kingdom First, that we would realize the impact we have on ourselves when we decide to sin willingly. Jesus I pray that you will forgive me of all my sins. Seek you first the Kingdom of God.

  18. II Peter 2
    Amplified

17 These [false teachers] are springs without water and mists driven by a tempest, for whom is reserved the gloom of black darkness. 18 For uttering arrogant words of vanity [pompous words disguised to sound scholarly or profound, but meaning nothing and containing no spiritual truth], they beguile and lure using lustful desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error. 19 They promise them liberty, when they themselves are the slaves of depravity—for by whatever anyone is defeated and overcome, to that [person, thing, philosophy, or concept] he is continually enslaved. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world by [personal] knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, their last condition has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have [personally] known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to have turned back from the holy commandment [verbally] handed on to them. 22 The thing spoken of in the true proverb has happened to them, “The dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “A sow is washed only to wallow [again] in the mire.”

To have known the true message of Jesus Christ and then turn away. Salvation is so clearly shown throughout the scriptures. From Genesis to Revelation. God had a plan but man allowed self will sin and disobedience to take precedence in his heart.
Obedience and submission and accountability which should have been an easy applicable formula to living a life that God ordained
The message of salvation the life ;that God has so beautifully blue printed in His Word ; some even those who have preached truth they turn aside they quit teaching truth they begin to dapple in sin and then rise up to act as Satan himself “did God really say that”? How sad yet many will follow just to have a portion of sin then to justify it with God’s grace. Yes God has extended grace through the precious blood of Jesus yet He has also given instruction how to maintain a walk of righteousness.
There is a way to life eternal if we will just keep our eyes forward stay close to God and His Word. Don’t return don’t go back don’t even entertain the thoughts. Oh what a sad thing to have been rescued then to return back into the darkness of sin.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus and the things of this wirkdvwill grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. The last scripture stated it clearly . Don’t be like a dog that returned to its vomit. Would you ? God help us to keep our life fully submitted to You. In Jesus name.

  19. FIRST THE KINGDOM
THE BITTER ETERNAL END OF SEEKING THE KINGDOM OF SELF

    4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
    5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
    6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

Life with Peace and Death with destruction are real. If we believe heaven is real, we must also believe that hell is real. We have these eternal testimonies to remind us that when the time comes:

1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Just as death with destruction has been witnessed of the centuries, GOD will one final time, release his judgment on the earth and then man will approach HIM for eternal judgement. These scriptures are real, these facts are true.

As Kingdom of GOD seekers we hold this promise:

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

The signs of the endtime are everywhere, in political, social and scriptural proofs surrounding us. Lets rise church to fulfill the call and purpose of the body of Christ.

  20. “They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.”
    ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬
I’ve heard so many times before when people walk away from the truth and they feel liberated or free. They go out and let go of the standards that God has set for us. And that ends up putting them in bondage. But the saddest part is that they don’t even realize the trap they have fallen into.

  21. 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Lot was righteous in God’s eyes, though perhaps it was hard for others to see his righteousness. Yet the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah tormented his righteous soul from day to day.
Lot’s soul was tormented, but he failed to follow through with godly actions and separate himself and his family from the ungodliness of Sodom and Gomorrah. The Lord delivered Lot because of his righteous soul; yet Lot lost everything else because of his too-close association with those wicked cities.

Jesus help me to live a godly life and lead my children in godliness.

  22. 2 Peter 2:1  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

    “Where’s That in the Bible?”
One thing that God has engraved into my being is the hate, yes hate of false doctrine. Each and everyone of us should hate false doctrine. The truth of the Word of God should be of utmost importance to each and every one of us. There are many hard to understand things in the Word, but God will bring revelation if we want the truth and we will always find the answer in the Word.

False teachers bring “heresies” into the body of Christ. The word heresies in this verse is quite surprising.

From G138; properly a choice, that is, (specifically) a party or (abstractly) disunion. (“heresy” is the Greek word itself.): – heresy [which is the Greekord itself], sect.

A heresy is a division. Just an example might be someone teaching something that causes division and that person through the teaching starts gathering folks to follow his point of view. Most times, these teachers cannot even back up their teaching or belief in the Word of God. They just want someone to follow their way of thinking which gives them spiritual influence.

Thank God we do not have many of these kinds of folks at POFW yet. (Folks who cause division through their own interception of the scriptures). As we grow as a church the opportunity may arise for some to try however. As children of God we must love the Word of God and our motto must become the motto of our Pastor…

    “Where’s that in the Bible?”

  23. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

It is one thing to do something out of ignorance but very uncalled for to do it after you have been taught not to do it. This chapter also talks about false teachers this does not give us an excuse. It is our responsibility to know the Word and obey it. We are to hide the Word in our hearts that we do not sin against the father. (Psalm 119:11

  24.  18  For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

Back a few years in Sunday school Brother Morgan was teaching on list. And how man’s weakness was his eyes but a womans weakness is her ears.
As women we must be careful who and how they are speaking to us if it is not Godly we can walk away, ya its rude to but is it really worth
Loosing your soul to evil, lustful words?

Then He said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear. By your own standard of measurement [that is, to the extent that you study spiritual truth and apply godly wisdom] it will be measured to you [and you will be given even greater ability to respond] –and more will be given to you besides.
    MARK 4:24 AMP

  25. 19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.

Have you ever seen a cartoon where the character is all tied up, and trying to break free and as soon as he thinks he’s free he looks to see that he has only moved the bondage to another area?

We all serve a kingdom, the question is which kingdom?

Are we fully committed to His Kingdom?
Or bound to our own kingdoms of selfish desires and wants?

When we are serving the kingdoms of this world I can’t help but picture the cartoon character who thinks he has mastered his own freedom, when in reality he has just moved the bondage.

Why not give the bandage to Jesus and live in the Liberty of His Kingdom?

In His Kingdom there is a True Joy and Freedom.

  26. 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

He promises us that he will keep us till the end-Phil 1:6 but our side is to persevere till the end. We must keep pursuing the kingdom daily: reading his word, praying and reaching for others. Just remember if you hear some other doctrine, ask where is that in the Bible? There are smooth talkers out there that are powerful convincing speakers and use just enough scripture to point you in the wrong direction! But the truth will set us free. Stay on course and stay in the apostolic doctrine.

  27. Some people despise the modern day church. They openly reject it because we offer salvation if they come out of their sin. They think it’s judgemental when we speak on salvation. But have mercy Jesus. They don’t reject me. They reject you.

“But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption,”
    ‭‭II Peter‬ ‭2:12‬ ‭

  28. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Verse 22 may leave a bad image in your mind, but I believe that’s the point. The dog which has got rid of the corruption inside it through vomiting it up cannot leave well enough alone; it goes sniffing around the vomit again. Why would we, who have been cleansed of sin from the inside out, return back to it? We’ve already seen the corruption it caused and we’ve already felt the sickness from it. Yet so many turn back.

It says that it is better to have never known the truth than to have known it and fell away from it.

We know the truth, so we have no excuses.

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  29. 2 Peter 2:21,22 Better not to have started out on the straight road to God than to start out and then turn back repudiating the experience and the holy command. They prove the point of the proverbs, “A dog goes back to its own vomit,” and “A scrubbed-up pig heads for the mud.”

Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God overlooked; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

We must keep First the Kingdom!
    No turning back!

    Seek Him everyday!
    Prayer
    Fasting
    Word
    Praise
    Worship
    Witness
    Faithful

  30. “…the Lord knows how to…keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, especially those who follow the polluting desires of the flesh and DESPISE AUTHORITY [dominion, rulership, government, or being governed]. BOLD, ARROGANT PEOPLE! They do not tremble when they blaspheme the glorious ones [the glory, or those having the glory]; But these people, like irrational animals — creatures of instinct born to be caught and destroyed — speak blasphemies about things they don’t understand, and in their destruction they too will be destroyed, suffering harm as the payment for unrighteousness. They consider it a pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, DELIGHTING IN THEIR DECEPTIONS as they feast with you.”
    2 Peter 2:9‭-‬10‭, ‬12‭-‬13 HCSB

The Wuest Expanded Translation puts verse 10 this way:
“But [He knows how to reserve for the day of judgment to be punished] especially those who proceed on THEIR WAY, hot in pursuit of the flesh [the totally depraved nature] in the sphere of passionate desire of that which defiles, and WHO DISDAIN AUTHORITY. PRESUMPTUOUS, ARROGANT, they do not tremble when DEFAMING THOSE in EXALTED POSITIONS.”

Jude also warns of the same people:
“Nevertheless, these dreamers likewise defile their flesh, REJECT AUTHORITY, AND BLASPHEME glorious ones… These are the ones who are like dangerous reefs at your love feasts. They feast with you, nurturing only themselves without fear… These people are DISCONTENTED GRUMBLERS, walking according to their desires; their mouths utter arrogant words, FLATTERING PEOPLE for their own advantage… These people CREATE DIVISIONS and are unbelievers, not having the Spirit.”
    Jude 1:8‭, 12‭, ‬16‭, ‬19 HCSB

Much has been said of late about the Spirit of Absalom, and here we find another warning. We must beware of those who feast among us while despising and blaspheming the authority of God’s appointed leaders. Anyone who will not be governed is arrogant, and presumptuously believes that they need no oversight. Anyone who will not submit to leadership in the church is walking in fleshly rebellion against God Himself.

We cannot entertain such voices (not even in kindness). They cause division and destroy innocent souls, especially those of the new converts. They pollute minds with their rebellious thoughts and flatter themselves and others as being more qualified than those whom God has ordained.

One thing I’ve learned over the years I’ve been in church is that God will often test the spirit of a man (or woman) by placing them under the authority of a leader whom they don’t particularly esteem as being their superior in some way or another, or by placing them under someone with whom they disagree. God knows that if we can’t humble ourselves and submit under these circumstances, we will not truly submit under any circumstances and are not qualified to lead others.

One final warning, this spirit often disguises itself by saying that it is thinking “only of the good of the church.” It enlists co-conspirators by playing on their vanity and puffing them up to believe that they are better “for the people” then those who currently hold the positions. However, either we believe that God is in control of His church (thus having the right and wisdom to appoint whomsoever He chooses), or we’ve not really learned to trust Him at all. What is man that he should question God?

David did not attack the authority of Saul, or in any way attempt to bring him down, even though Saul was possessed of an evil spirit. Whatever reason we’ve imagined to attempt to discredit or disqualify God-ordained leadership is nothing but an excuse to entertain prideful flesh. God is in control. He appoints and removes leadership in His time according to His will. Whatever leadership we have is God’s gift to us for this moment to perfect and edify us. We are better served by humbling ourselves and trusting that we are under this person because we have something to learn, than to resist their authority and God’s.

  31. A reminder to us that no matter what temptation we are facing God will deliver His people.

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

The key is to keep our focus on Him. Peter did not begin to drown until he took his eyes off Jesus. It’s so easy to move our attention from God to what is going on around us, that is how the enemy gets control of our thoughts and begins to instill doubt, fear, or worry into us, or even causes us to commit sin.

Lord help me to keep my attention on you. You are the Waymaker, Miracle Worker, My God – that is who you are.

  32. Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.
    2 Peter 2:8 NLT

It does matter what you see, what you hear and even who you fellowship with because if you are living righteously and according to His Word it will bug you and bother you in your spirit. Light and darnkness dont mix.

  33. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

We have to stick to the truth and nothing but the truth, because when you live in sin and become sin everyday your truth that you know may be telling you what to do, but you have already twisted it. God doesn’t want his word twisted to fit our needs we are suppose to twist or change our lives according to his word. We need to go back to what the truth says!

  34. “And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood.

But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him.”
    ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:5, 7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Throughout the writing of the Old Testament, the character of the righteous and the wicked is always in conflict with one another. In the Garden of Eden Satan tempted Eve to disobey the Lord by suggesting the word of God could be challenged. “Has God indeed said” has been the basic tool of how men have fallen away from the Lord. As the history of the world unfolds men seek after their own pleasures rather than serving the Lord. The Flood of Noah’s day brings judgment upon all men with only eight souls saved.
The judgment of God is based upon the whole of man, whether he has lived in righteousness or served the devil in wickedness.
There is always a remembrance of what we have done. We may forget but God never does. Those who fear the Lord are remembered for their faithfulness and those who do not fear the Lord will be remembered for their wickedness.
We cannot pick and choose how we serves God. The Lord is a Jealous God and He demands complete obedience.

What separates a righteous man from an unrighteous man is obedience.
The obedience of Noah and Lot is what saved them from God’s judgment.

  35. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (vs-20-22)
And when a person has escaped from his wicked ways of the world by learning about the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then gets tangled up with sin and becomes its slave again he is worst off than he was before. 21-It would be better if he had never know about Christ at all than learn of him and afterwards and turn his back on the holy commandments that were given to him.22-There is an old saying that “A dog comes back to what he has vomited and a pig is washed to only come back and wallow in the mud again. That is the way it is with those who turn again to their sin
Not being happy about it and also being ashamed during the years in church i have back slid a couple of times and gone out to the world. I tell you it is the most awful thing that i can think of, your not even living. thinking your going and having a good time never happens. Your the most miserable creature on the earth. All you can think about is church and going to hell. For myself when God starts drawing you back you have the devil to contend with also.
Thank you Jesus you or giving the oppurtunity to come back for my-self the first time coming back to church is one of the most embarrassing and nerve racking thing i have been through. What a great God we serve and a great Pastor and First Lady we are submitted to

  36. Jesus is the lord of god and he has angels that look down on us from heaven and they are greater in power and might bring railing accusation before the lord

  37. And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood.

God did not spare the ancient world except for Noah and his family

  38. So you see that the Lord God knows how to save those who are devoted to him. He will save them when troubles come. And the Lord will hold evil people to punish them on the day of judgment. These false teachers promise those people freedom, but they themselves are not free. They are slaves to a mind that has been ruined by sin. Yes, people are slaves to anything that controls them.
    2 Peter 2:9‭, ‬19 ERV

It’s important to know the truth, important to not get deceived from any false leader, also us not deceiving ourselves, where do our foot steps take us ? , where does my mind take me ? My heart take me ? I want to walk by the spirit , I want my mind and heart renewed by Jesus daily.

  39. 2 Peter 2:7-9
    7) And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
    8) (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
    9) The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished:

  40. For those who say God is so loving and caring that He will not allow anyone to go to hell. Read this:
For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment. 2 Peter 2:4 NLT
And this: And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood. 2 Peter 2:5 NLT

And this: Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people.
    2 Peter 2:6 NLT
We are exceedingly blessed to know to know Him and serve Him!

  41. 3In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

For me, the first group of people that come to mind are politicians. They will say anything to get your vote and your donations. Unfortunately this happens in the church too. Men of god who will say anything to keep the money coming in. They will preach only the political correctness of the day. They don’t want to upset/offend their congregation.

I’m glad to be at a church where we have a Pastor who preaches with boldness. If you’re offended by the Word, it could be time to look in the mirror.

  42. 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

God has a path set out for us to follow in his footsteps and we must not stray from it. If we take our own path and try to lead others we aren’t leading them to God but to our own beliefs. We must make sure we surround ourselves with people that are on the same path to God so we may not wonder off to what others say about this world. There is a saying people believe, “Not all those that wonder are lost”, these are the times that people are now believing that not living a life for him is okay. Even though we all have different testimonies of our paths to God, that once we reach a life with him there is no time or room to waste on this world to ‘wonder’. This is the time for us to make up in our minds to speak the truth about our God to those that are wondering in this world!

  43. This chapter is the ultimate warning and promise for those who speak against leadership. If you believe the Bible is true and still speak against leadership you are an idiot. Lord help those that are in this trap.

  44. If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.
    2 Peter 2:20‭-‬21 NIV

  45. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The Word also says , that a man that looks back while plowing, is not fit for the plow.

While we are to know where we came from, how far Jesus has brought us, we are to follow Jesus with all we have, not wanting to go back to where we once were.

  46. 20 And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.

Lord help us to guard our hearts and not be deceived and go after our desires. We have to keep praying for our prodigals to come back and be freed from the salvery of sin. We can’t let Satan get into our minds that we loose focus on Jesus. We all have remove what is hindering us from truly being committed to His Kingdom.

  47. We don’t have to fall into the temptation that comes around us. God is able to deliver us from it. You don’t have to be bound by sin, there is a way of escape. God provides a way for us to be free, we just have to be willing to take it.

  48. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

We cannot serve two masters, either we have a relationship with God or we don’t. We serve a jealous God, who does not share us with anyone else. It would be perverse to have more than one husband, such is it with whom we serve. The world can promise wealth and liberty but it is only temporary when obtained by corruption. If a man is overcome by evil then they are servants bound to wickedness. We are servants and slaves to God, which is evident by the fruit of his righteousness within us. Whom we serve will be evident by the fruit we bear. The only way Balak the king, could curse Israel through, Balaam the sorcerer, was is Israel left the covering of their God. The same is with us today if we chose abandon our relationship with God we essentially break that bond of servanthood. Accepting alliance will the world makes us enemies of God, and prey to the curses of the enemy. This is why it would be better to of never known God then to have turned away from him, because of how good he has been to us will never equate to what the world can offer.

  49. 9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

The Lord knows. So the answer to being delivered out of the temptation is found in the Lord. He is the way. His words are the ones that will guide you we cannot try to come out from our own strength and wisdom for it will not suffice. God knows the way of escape but you must first find Him.

  50. “It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.”
    ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

By the grace of God we find truth, turning from our wicked ways and seeking his kingdom first in our daily walk with him. Obviously, we are all human and tempted by the things of this world but we must be careful not to fall into sin. While God’s grace and mercy abounds and will be there to catch us when we fall it can only extend so far before he must let us go to cause self destruction. The things of this world will only last so long, don’t throw in the towel with God for something that will leave you feeling empty and lost.

  51. 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

While we live day to day seeing and hearing the vulgar, ungodly, and demeaning things of coworkers and random people, He is waiting until the right time to deliver us.

Reminds me of a song: https://youtu.be/s2A3LaYDlHM

9 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

  52. “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”
    ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2:20-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is why we pray for the backsliders and the protocols. We don’t want anyone to return to a life of sin after they have found the knowledge of truth. You can’t just be a couch cristian or listen to it on the radio and be moved. You must walk it out daily to keep yours flow from returning to your sins of the past.
