1 John 1

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

  1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

That essential Good, that uncreated Excellence, which had been from the beginning, from eternity, as equal with the Father, and which at length appeared in human nature for the salvation of sinners, was the great subject concerning which the apostle wrote to his brethren. The apostles had seen Him while they witnessed his wisdom and holiness, his miracles, and love and mercy, during some years, till they saw him crucified for sinners, and afterwards risen from the dead. They touched him, so as to have full proof of his resurrection. This Divine Person, the Word of life, the Word of God, appeared in human nature, that he might be the Author and Giver of eternal life to mankind, through the redemption of his blood, and the influence of his new-creating Spirit. The apostles declared what they had seen and heard, that believers might share their comforts and everlasting advantages. They had free access to God the Father. They had a happy experience of the truth in their souls, and showed its excellence in their lives. This communion of believers with the Father and the Son, is begun and kept up by the influences of the Holy Spirit. The benefits Christ bestows, are not like the scanty possessions of the world, causing jealousies in others; but the joy and happiness of communion with God is all-sufficient, so that any number may partake of it; and all who are warranted to say, that truly their fellowship is with the Father, will desire to lead others to partake of the same blessedness.

  2. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

  3. “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
    1 John 1:6‭-‬7 KJV

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
    John 3:19‭-‬21 KJV

“Meanwhile, the fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must never go out. Each morning the priest will add fresh wood to the fire and arrange the burnt offering on it. He will then burn the fat of the peace offerings on it. REMEMBER, THE FIRE MUST BE KEPT BURNING ON THE ALTAR AT ALL TIMES. IT MUST NEVER GO OUT.”
    Leviticus 6:12‭-‬13 NLT

When we let the fire go out on the altar, we end up stumbling around in the darkness. Those who forsake the altar altogether have chosen to walk in darkness rather than light. “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” He knows that spending time with the fire on the altar will bring conviction of sin; therefore, he avoids the altar and lets the flame die. He may pretend that the fire is still in his life, but his deeds show all that his light has gone out.

If we want to walk in the light as He is in the light, we must keep the fire burning brightly upon the altar by adding fresh fuel and sacrifices every morning. We can never let the fire go out.

  4. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
    1 John 1:8‭-‬10 NLT
“Oh yeah, God I’m perfect; I don’t need you.” People do say that and guess what. They lie to themselves; there is not one perfect person on this rock. Anybody that says they have committed no sin is just fooling themself. I use to joke around that I was perfect. Guess what; 😁 I’m not. God wants us to be 100% real about where we’re at with Him. Even though we act foolish: God knows when we’re being real and when we’re faking it. 🤔 Gotcha to thinking. So I haven’t sinned; so then you’re calling me a liar. Everything that I have taught you has been for nothing. Get out of your wickedness; 🤔 I didn’t know you were listening. That’s it right there; people think God’s not listening, but guess what His hearing all that goes on 24 7. So that’s it: be mindful about how you approach anything in life; God’s out there listening to every word you speak and every thought that comes from you. Jesus be my rock and humble me before you that I may know I’m not perfect. I thank you for your word and for making this vessel one of your chosen.

All we have to do is ask, and he will forgive us! I’ve heard this before, ” I can do this ir that, I’ll just repent” To me thats playing games” God, he dont have time for games, either were in or we are not, Last night God showed me were I needed to repair my alter and warfare prayer needs to be part of my prayer life more than just Saturday night, there are people who are asking me to pray for them, a d people that need prayer as and they dont need no party cale prayer, they need a whatever it takes Lord intervene, I stand in the gap, type prayer, they need me to say ok Lord I’ve lived in darkness now I need the light in my life, and be sincere, the price Jesus paid for our sins was a price I cant pay. I can never pay that debt, he deserves to be honored, and praised, and worshipped, but he could just sit back in his throne within earh stool and say I did my part, but that’s not the God we serve, he is the living God,bone true God, he ain’t no lazy God, he works, he never sleeps, hes always there even when we feel like we dont need him, hes there, but my question to Nora is if you dont need him, then what are you doing?, my answer is I ALWAYS NEED HIM, YOU DONT KNOW, LIKE I KNOW, WHAT MY GOD HAS BROUGHT ME OUT OF!

  6. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Be honest, be truthful, be humble, because the lord jesus christ is light. Get rid of the darkness that lingers, for if you do jesus will reward you.

  7. 5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

As we are filled with the Holy Ghost, we find that Jesus chose us as a generation of misfits that were completely lost in the darkness of sin. For we are as 1 Peter 2 states it so clearly-

9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Since Jesus came to save us and to fill us with the light to shine before all people every nation, every kindreds, every tongue, and every race. We are to be as Christ is. We are to be a light that is sat upon a hill for all the world to see. I find the more I seek first the kingdom of God, the more of his light there will be in our life to be witnesses for all to see.

    John 1 states-
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Remember church we are living in a chaotic society for the darkness is trying to take over the light of Jesus and beginning to deny the power there of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

As Jesus was crucified and died for all, but acts 26:23 states that:

23That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

We have to follow the example of Jesus, showing the light of the kingdom toward all men and women. We are going to have to live and breath what we believe in order for our light to shine unto others. Seek first the kingdom of God.

    I love the Kingdom!

  8. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

We are identified with who we associate with the most. It is both hypocritical and impossible to associate with the world frequently if your walk with God. that doesn’t mean we don’t associate with the world just don’t associate in the world which means that we are in the world but not of it. The church isn’t a place that we go to three times a week but it is our fellowship in our day to day lifestyle that is almost defined in it.

  9. That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

    • So if we see and hear we can declare unto you that also we may have fellowship with others, and truly fellowship is the father and his son Jesus Christ

    • If we talk to god and confess our sins, and if we ask god to say we are sorry for our sins,we can clean us from all righteousness

  10. 1. We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. NLT

    John 1:
    1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    4. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. KJV

    John 8:
    58. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. KJV

It boggles the human mind to try to comprehend how God existed before the beginning. Before time was, He is. After time is gone, He is.
Yet during that space in eternity we know as time, He created Earth and man, then robed Himself in flesh so that He could die for us and give us eternal life, then made Himself available to live inside of us so that we could live for Him! What a mighty God we serve!

  11. Verses 3-4 MSG “We saw it, we heard it, and now we’re telling you so you can experience it along with us, this experience of communion with the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. Our motive for writing is simply this: We want you to enjoy this, too. Your joy will double our joy!” These verses reminded me of the song “I Feel the Joy”:

I feel the joy of the Lord falling fresh on me
I feel the joy of the Lord delivering me
I feel the joy of the Holy Ghost all over me

I have been loosed, I’ve been set free
So pardon me a moment while I have a jubilee
For the Joy of the Holy Ghost is all over me

Verse 5 MSG “This, in essence, is the message we heard from Christ and are passing on to you: God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him.” John 8:12 AMP “Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, “[a]I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

  12. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Although not directly stated, to me these sound like results of a well established altar: having relationship with God in His light, being cleansed from our sins, and being found in unity with one another. Abide in me today Jesus!

  13. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
    1 John 1:8‭, ‬10 NLT

We need to be honest with ourselves and ask God in prayer to search our hearts. I like to do a mental body scan of “have I sinned in my mind, heart, with my hands, where my feet may go,or anything I didn’t do” and I try to walk through that with God and see if He will reveal anything to me. Not only can I be aware so I can repent of those things but also so I can watch myself and improve.
Lord, I thank You for guiding us through this life. I thank You for keep Your hand on us so we don’t stumble out of our walk with You. Keep us hidden under Your wings, Lord. I love You Jesus.

  14. 1 John 1:3 [ Amp] And this is now we may discern
[ daily , by experience] that we are coming to know Him [ to perceive , recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]. If we keep
( bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings
( precepts, commandments. Whoever say’s I know Him, I preceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him] But fails to keep and obey His commandments ( teachings) is liar, And the Truth [ of the Gospel] is not in him. I am trying you that Jesus is the Light, There is no darkness in Him. Those that follow me will not have darkness in them. But those who keep his word and bears in mind his precepts, who observes his message is truly in Him. We must be born again to receive him. And follow him and his law. Love and forgive one another. Lord I pray that you lead me to the lost.

  15. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

I witness to a man that kept justifying himself in knowing God and having a relationship with God, literally smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer while we were in conversation.

After a while, he couldn’t believe someone like him could be forgiven. But at the end, it’s was his choice to accept the truth after it was presented to him.

And that’s all we can do, compel them, and after that they don’t listen, pray. Pray for the seed you just planted.

  16. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

I witness to someone, that was literally saying he had a relationship with God while holding a beer and smoking a cigarette.

After showing presenting him scripture and his need to repent and what truly seeking God look like, he just couldn’t believe God would forgive someone like him.

After we compel them to come and seek Jesus, we have task of praying for that seed we have just planted. That God can make a way out of a seemingly no way.

  17. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

IVE REBUILT MY ALTAR, in this scripture we need to use our altars and repent. We need to die daily and show Jesus that we have changed and we our using our altars to become Kingdom minded.

  18. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
    1 John 1:9 NLT

There must be a daily confession of our sins. We must die daily and not only ask for forgiveness but be cleansed daily of our own thoughts and desires. We must make sure He is first every day.

  19. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. Today, I repair my alter and I lay down my doubts, fears, and myself will. I pray today that God will consume those things with His Fire and allow the new seeds to flourish. Today I need his fire, i need his rain, in need his light in my life. We all have an alter that is need of repair. We must rebuild the alter in our lives l, in order for His Kingdom to be established. FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

  20. 4- And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
    ———-
Hoy, hoy, hoy regardless ….. real joy which it’s only found in Jesus.

  21. iLove the Kingdom in Action
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Whatever we hide and bury in our lives that is shady separates us from God. In Him there is no darkness but only light. Sin is dark and of the night and thereby we lock God out of our intermost being. Repentance brings sin into the light and therefore God is able to come into our lives and deliver us. This is the reason we need to repair the altar EVERYDAY.

How is your altar today? About to fix mine right now with my phone on airplane mode 🙂

  22. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

The darkness is a deceitful thing. When you reach for something in the darkness, in your mind your know exactly where it is but your hands cannot find it for some reason. This is the same way with God. If we walk in the darkness we cannot find him. This is what happened in the garden when Adam sinned. God called for Adam. Where are you Adam? It wants that God didn’t know where Adam was, it was God speaking to the darkness that had overcome him. It wasn’t till an Altar was built that God could communicate with Adam again. God sacrificed the first sacrifice to cover Adam and the blood of that sacrifice is what imputed the darkness so that God and man could once again see each other. If we are in any type of darkness it is the Altar that will turn the light back on. If we are stumbling in the dark, we have to remember our way back to the Altar and get out light back on.

  23. 1John 1

4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

    His Marvelous Light
It radiates into the most darkest of darkest life situations. His blood was shed to remove sin. If we find ourself in a dark mood we can and should begin to proclaim the word of God. God is light Gevwill push out the darkest of thoughts. We must submit our minds our life continually to God. His love His ways can bring a life full of joy. When sadness life situations bring us to a cross road we have two paths one if darkness or one of light. No matter the situation. The situation will still be a part of life but God’s Light will guide through and push away what Satan thought would destroy you. God’s Light will allow you to see the jewels that are in the midst of the darkness . Yes His marvelous light makes a difference. Psalms 23 we can choose life even in the shadow of death. His joy will bring life . We must admit and submit and allow His blood to cleanse us. In Jesus name

  24. v4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Difficult times should not destroy our commitment to live for Jesus Christ. LORD help us ( me) to continue walking in and rejoicing in truth and godliness until You return, no matter what trials come our way.
Thank GOD that our walk with HIM includes joy.

  25. “You can’t handle the truth”

6 If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim.

I am reminded of an old movie quote “You can’t handle the truth”. If memory serves, the movie was centered around the Guantanamo Bay military base. This quote was part of a court scene in which the commanding officer was detailing how people don’t want to know the price of peace for the citizens of the US. The general population believes the armed forces stand guard against those who intend harm on the citizens of America and ask nicely “please don’t do that”. That is not the case. How does this remind me of this verse; as Pastor states – I am glad you asked.

We cannot claim to be a child of God and stand for truth if we are not willing to also claim we are human, fallible and born into sin. There cannot be light without darkness. We are supposed to live a life separated from sin but we also live on Earth and are still human. Micah stated: “when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me”. When we fall/fail, we cannot give up. We have the tools and knowledge to get up, dust of the dust/sin/darkness and get back to the Kingdom work we have been called to.

  26. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

When freed from pride it is easier to confess our sins…… because of GOD’S greatness and goodness towards me I am convicted and just so undeserving of HIM that I can cry out to him and confess my sin……GOD IIS SO GOOD TO ME!!! I LOVE YOU DADDY

  27. 1 John 1:1-4 (voice)
    1) We want to tell you about the One who was from the beginning. We have seen Him with our own eyes, heard Him with our own ears, ad touched Him with our own hands. The One is the manifestation of the life-giving Voice,
    2) And He showed us real life, eternal life. We have seen it all, and we can’t keep what we witnessed quiet – we have to share it with you. We are inviting you to experience eternal life through the One who was with the Father and came down to us.
    3) What we saw and heard we pass on to you so that you, too, will be connected with us intimately and become family. Our family is united by our connection with the Father and His Son Jesus, the Anointed One;
    4) And we write all this because retelling this story fulfills our joy.

Witness, Share It, Invite, and Pass It On, so that others can experience eternal life in JESUS. So that they can experience salvation, forgiveness, deliverance, healing, and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. So that we can be united and share in the Joy of the Lord together.

  28. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Thank you Jesus for your blood. No matter how much sin people come with there is nothing that he can’t forgive. He is patiently waiting for us to repent and come to Him. As a mother I know the love I have for my children but yet it’s incomparable to the love that He has for us. He created us and knows us better than anybody, He is just full of mercy and grace. No matter the sin He is willing to forgive us!! Thank you Jesus!! No one else like you Lord!!

  29. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Thank God for the altar! God designed us a place to carry our sins: to be forgiven and covered by the blood. Walking in the light with Jesus, keeping his word in our hearts is the best resource along with prayer to stay pure and separate from this world. But when we sin, we have an advocate and an altar.

  30. 4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

We aren’t sharing what God has done to boast within ourselves but to share the Good News, Spread the Joy of the Lord, and to Impact this Region!

  31. “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:5-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This passage goes with the message last night. If we are going to live in the light we must repair the altar and fellowship with God. In him there is no darkness there’s no sin or there’s no wickedness. So if we say we have fellowship with him and living in spiritual darkness that is not true. How’s your altar?? Fellowship with Jesus today! He waiting for you!

  32. “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
We have to have our personal alter everywhere we go. If we want to be apart of him then we have to let him be apart of us. I want to walk in truth. Jesus let me fall to my face everyday before you. And fall in love with you everyday.

  33. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Light and darkness are total opposites. When one shows up the other must leave. Therefore, we can’t say we are walking in the “light” if we are participating in the “darkness of sin.”

Stopping by the altar everyday, spending time with Jesus will allow us the opportunities to discern when we are stepping from light into darkness with decisions we make on an everyday basis. We must allow the light of God’s spirit to be illuminated within us so that it draws people to Him. If we vacillate from light to dark because of deeds/sins in our lives, it will be difficult for people to follow.

We must shine bright as children of the light so that all men might see JESUS in us.

  34. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

    of night darkness

    of darkened eyesight or blindness

    metaphorically

OF IGNORANCE RESPECTING DIVINE THINGS AND HUMAN DUTIES, AND THE ACCOMPANYING UNGODLINESS AND IMMORALITY, TOGETHER WITH THEIR CONSEQUENT MISERY IN HELL

persons in whom darkness becomes visible and holds sway

    Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

We are either with God or with the enemy. We can not say I can keep one foot with God and one foot in the world for the moment your foot touches the world you now serve darkness.

  35. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    JOYFUL TESTIMONY

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

We find an obvious principal here. The path to full JOY is to DECLARE or TESTIFY of what we have seen and heard in HIS Kingdom.

    How is your ALTAR?

What we talk about and discuss will reveal to us “How our ALTAR is”. If our conversation is HOLY and filled with TESTIMONY of what JESUS is doing then we reveal where our prayer life is. We also create opportunity to build FAITH in those that hear us.

Spreading LIGHT and casting out darkness. Lets BE LIGHT and share the things that we have seen and heard in The Kingdom of GOD.

  36. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

No one is perfect even though we strive to be Christlike. Thankfully God is always faithful and will forgive as long as we ask for forgiveness. But his faithfulness doesn’t mean we should keep falling into the same sin, we should always strive to do better and be better.

  37. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

MIC DROP!!!!! “. . . and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth”, God cannot be dark, there is no darkness in him!! We cannot say we walk with him, have his light inside, or are a representative of him if we have darkness or sin inside of us. “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,”. We must walk in the light if we want to be His saints.

Don’t deceive yourself. Know where you stand in Christ. If you can’t say where you stand or know you have darkness, repent, confers your sins, turn away from the darkness. Don’t make God a liar.

  38. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

If we don’t put to practice what we hear, its simply called being “hard headed”. You like to hear the Word, but don’t want to participate in the Word. In other words, you continue to refuse that the Word is the truth.

  39. “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:8-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

To say that we have no sin puts us in a dangerous place because God’s grace and mercy is extended to sinners, not to “those who make mistakes” or “I’m only human” or “no one is perfect” people, but sinners. We need to realize the victory and forgiveness that comes from saying, “I am a sinner, but I have a Savior who cleanses me from all sin.”

  40. “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is faithful to forgive us when we sin, but we have to really repent from the things we have sin about and never do that again.

  41. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Darkness is the absent of light.

When we are absent in our prayer life and absent in the reading of the word, the light becomes absent from us and we dwell in darkness.

We must must be present with God. There are many ways we can evaluate ourselves daily to ensure that we are present in our relationship with God and are walking in the light.

    To name a few:
    1. Have I put Him FIRST in every decision today?
    2. How’s my altar?
    3. Have I studied His word today?

Since God is light, when we walk in the light we walk where He is. And a relationship with Him comes natural. And with that, praying and reading His word becomes less of a task and more of a desire.

“Walking” implies action, continuity, and progress. Since God is active and walking, if you have fellowship with Him, you will also be active and walking.

  42. I Love To Worship The Lord
    The Living Bible
    (vs-7)
But if we are living in the light of Gods presence just as God does then we have wonderful fellowship and joy with each other and the blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from ever sin.
Some have taken the light as sinlessness. But this verse tells us when we walk in the Light Christ”s blood purifies us from ever sin. If we are honest with our selves and God will see our sins in the light of Gods word – and will appeal to Christ for purification.

  43. This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
    1 John 1:5 NLT
What a glorious truth: We serve a God who is nothing but pure goodness and truth. There is no sin, evil or hatred in Him! No darkness at all. He is pure light and no darkness can be in or around Him because that is the nature of light. In fact, He is ALWAYS at His highest best. He never has a bad day or even a mediocre day. That’s why James says with God there is neither shadow of turning like on a sun dial when the sun is at its peak at high noon.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
    James 1:17 KJV

  44. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

This is why we repent daily. Even if we think we have not sinned chances are that we have. Our minds our hearts are very deceptive and our adversary uses these as tools or weapons against us. Repent everyday!

  45. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
    I John 1:7 NKJV

It is Jesus that holds us together. It is becuae of Him that we can love one another and not be offended; for when we walk with Him in the light we become like him and take on His love. His love that covers a multitude of sin.

  46. 6-7 If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin.

Believing and doing are two different things. We can proclaim and believe everything God does but if we don’t live a lifestyle for him we live in a lie. If we don’t live a lifestyle for him we aren’t letting his light shine for others to see and they see us not God. I pray that daily when others see me they see his light shining through!

  47. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

No one of us is perfect we all have sinned and have things we need God to cleanse from our life. To be made clean it starts with us first realizing I need God and am in need of him. God will not just put in to our hearts because if he did that he would take out the free will he has given us. he wants us to come to him with a open heart and hands raised.
Let us not forget to be honest with God and ourselves.

    ‭‭

  48. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Your walk with Jesus shouldn’t just be on the days you go to church. We should always walk in the light, praise Jesus and ask forgiveness for our sins. Show love to others!

  49. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

    Seek ye first the Kingdom

When Pastor taught on the plum line it was probably one of my favorite words heard from the Holy Ghost. This is where it comes in action. Walking with Jesus and following righteousness or better said walking in righteousness and following Jesus. We stumble we get back up. When having a relationship with Jesus you’re gonna be able to get up and keep going but if you can’t pray or read or seek ye the Kingdom first when trials come and tribulations get you down in the dirt you might not come back up so easily. Get in the plum line. You’re be surprised how many of your leaders are going through something but because they’re in plum they can bounce back up and recover quickly.

  50. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

The darkest nights reveal the brightest stars. A star cannot be darkened unless it burns out or explodes like a supernova. The same is for us if we use up our resources and not receive renewing from Jesus we die. Not all the ten virgins in Matthew 25 brought extra oil to last. Jesus is looking for those willing to labor to be prepared, and keeping our light shining til his coming. When we shine for Jesus we illuminate who our Father is for others to follow after. lucifer had this opportunity and because he thought too highly of himself he was cast out of heaven like lightning. Trying to walk in darkness and say we’re of the light is a lie, and apparent to everyone, but the fool who says it. We can repent of our sins and be restored to the light. For, he calls us out of darkness, and into his marvelous light.

  51. 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

We are a city set upon a hill, shining His light for all to see. If we truly took that into consideration, it might just change our walks just a bit…

  52. 1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What a blessing to have relief!!!
    Working on the alter!!!

  53. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”(1 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭HCSB‬‬)

It’s a privilege to know that we serve a God that is patient to us to give us a opportunity to come to him and confess our sins to the one and only God that is faithful to his word and is so good to us to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  54. All Light, All the Time

God is always light. He has no darkness. He has no sin. When we have darkness and sin we moved away because God doesn’t do darkness. Jesus is the absence of all sin

You can’t just tell a little while lie and think that it’s alright with God. He will leave as he can’t be with sin.
