1 John 2

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

  1. Verses 9-11 MSG “Anyone who claims to live in God’s light and hates a brother or sister is still in the dark. It’s the person who loves brother and sister who dwells in God’s light and doesn’t block the light from others. But whoever hates is still in the dark, stumbles around in the dark, doesn’t know which end is up, blinded by the darkness.”

Matthew 22:34-40 MSG “When the Pharisees heard how he had bested the Sadducees, they gathered their forces for an assault. One of their religion scholars spoke for them, posing a question they hoped would show him up: “Teacher, which command in God’s Law is the most important?” Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.”

Mark 12:29-31 MSG “Jesus said, “The first in importance is, ‘Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’ And here is the second: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment that ranks with these.”

  2. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
    1 John 2:15 KJV
As a born again Christian filled with the Holy Ghost, change comes from the inside out. The desires you once had are no longer there. His will becomes your desire to obey and labor in His KINGDOM ❤

Christ suffered here on earth. Now you must be ready to suffer as he did, because suffering shows that you have stopped sinning. It means you have turned from your own desires and want to obey God for the rest of your life.
    1 Peter 4:1‭-‬2 CEV

  3. 15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

The more I live each day the more that I realize the importance to trust God and love the kingdom. We are of the light and we are a separate people that must be holders of the truth. More than that we have to be preachers and witnesses of the truth. This world is not our home but while we are here we have the mission to reach as many as we can and hopefully we can help deliver them from the evil and immorality of this world. When we are set free from the bondage of sin, when we are washed by the blood of the lamb we become brand new. Scripture tells us that old things are passed away and we are made brand new.

But I am reminded that Mark 8:36 states the question of the ages-

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

The soul of a person is important to God. When we die, we all will face judgement. It will be determined by what we have done here on this earth that will determine what we will hear in the next eternal age. It will be either:

    Matthew 25:21
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

    Or it will be simply-

    Matthew 7 states
21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

It is time for the church to be the church. We have to continue steadfast in preaching the truth and we will reap if we faint not.

    I love the Kingdom.

  4. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

The Bible tells us that we can know someone by their fruits. Verbal proclamations teen absolutely nothing if actions do not back it up. The Bible does not necessarily tell us not to judge but how to judge properly. When it comes down to it, the most effective way to know your walk with God is solidified It is by your obedience to his word not by your emotions. Likewise with anyone else you can tell who they associate with by their actions more than their words.

  5. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
    1 John 2:15‭-‬17 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/1jn.2.15-17.KJV I have a choice I either give my life soul to God or I don’t, it’s simple, either I love or I hate, There is never a middle, God dont do fence riders , I cant be one foot in one foot out, either I am his or not, time is running out, I cant be playing the games I’m used to playing nope, it’s time to get dirty, it’s time to get down in the trenches and fight for the soul of my family, my church family, Dakotas family, people that come In the shop! I’m not here to play pitty pat with the enemy, I’m here to fight, to speak truth, to pray, to call those things that aren’t as though they are, God loves us, and when we step back, he loves us, I need to be fighting for the ones that left, the ones that are on their way, that’s how we show God were all in, we aren’t saying it, were doing it, Im not just hearing the word I am doing it, Im praying , reading, fasting, applying going repeat! That’s how I should show God not tell God what I’m going to do I need to Shut up and do it!

  6. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    KINGDOM OBEDIENCE

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

The WORD of GOD is a book of COMMANDS or ABSOLUTES not a book of suggestions for good and healthy living. The WORDS of GOD are eternal and therefore are Kingdom Commandments.

To maintain obedience we must continually learn HIS commands. If we fail or refuse to keep HIS commands and still profess to be a believer in Christ his book of commands says that we are a liar. The sin being now magnified by the lie of disobedience.

KINGDOM OBEDIENCE is fulfilled as we learn, know and live out HIS Commandments.

  7. LIFE TEST:
Do not love the world [of sin that opposes God and His precepts], nor the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world–the lust and sensual craving of the flesh and the lust and longing of the eyes and the boastful pride of life [pretentious confidence in one’s resources or in the stability of earthly things]–these do not come from the Father, but are from the world. The world is passing away, and with it its lusts [the shameful pursuits and ungodly longings]; but the one who does the will of God and carries out His purposes lives forever.
    1 JOHN 2:15‭-‬17 AMP
Come on bro you can do this; this is your time don’t worry about what’s going on in there. Heard that a few times getting ready to go to church. It’s amazing how a few simple words kept me from seeking after God. Thinking I’m better than these “bible thumpers”; wow I was a prideful person back then. Now I can’t even get my day started without doing my blog. Wait, what 🤯; you mean I’m now one of those “BIBLE THUMPERS”. 😁😁😎 I wouldn’t have it any other way. Let’s face it; the only thing this world can guarantee is death. Toby Mac spoke it nice in a song, ” I don’t want to gain the whole world and lose my soul.” That is true; what would be the purpose of gaining one thing: when you know you’re going to lose something. Wealth isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, fame isn’t all that great. Yeah people know you and your name becomes a household conversation. To what end though; 1) privacy; forget it. 2) time to self; forget about it. 3) happiness; that will go over time. See there are 3 negatives right there. The list only gets worse. No it may not happen right away, but it will happen. This world offers me nothing. Jesus is my everything; I know where I stand and am I perfect; by no means. If I was perfect; I’d be Jesus. He is the only one to walk among us that was without sin. 🤔 food for thought: next time you look in a mirror. Ask yourself this; what has the world contributed to my life. You might be surprised at the answer. 😯 One last thought; think on this; what you did in the world and what it took for you to be where you’re at now. How many times can you say; I should have done this or that differently. My answer is nothing; cause I wouldn’t be where I am if I could chang just one thing that I did. We go through what we go through as a life test from God. Thank you Jesus for who you are in my life.

  8. I love the book of John, so powerful so enlightening. Thank you Jesus, First the kingdom requires us to love him by obedience and submission to God . I need to, I want to.. every day seek and surrender to Jesus’s Will . God knows every weakness and strengths, I can not hide anything from him. I’m not of this world ….. I don’t want to be

If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old commandment—to love one another—is the same message you heard before. Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining. Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.

  9. iLove the Kingdom in Action
    “iSeek”
16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever

This scripture goes beautifully with the message pastor preached last Wednesday titled “iSeek”. It’s not about possessions, but it’s about a relationship with God. To do the Will of God is more valuable then anything we could ever do. Prayer is the will of God and we are about to enter 6am prayer at the POFW y’all! Our sacrifice will last longer then an extra hour in bed. 🙂

  10. A new old thing

We are told to follow God’s commands. If we we love him, do what he says. Showing live occurs in many forms. With a child to parent relationship that is one of the ways that the child shows they live the parent. It’s true of our relationship with Christ as well. He is our father. We are his children. If we live him, we will do what he says.

  11. 12. I am writing to you, my children, because your sins have been forgiven by the authority of His name.

    13. I am writing to you, fathers and mothers, because you have known Him as the Creator, as the One who started everything. I am writing to you, young people, because He has given you the power to conquer the evil one. Voice

“your sins have been forgiven by the authority of His name.”
    What’s His name? JESUS!
    John 1:29
The next day John seeth JESUS coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

“you have known Him as the Creator, as the One who started everything”
    Who created everything? God!
    Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

“He has given you the power to conquer the evil one”
What gives us this power? The Holy Ghost!
    Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When John wrote these two verses, he used His, Him, and He because he was talking about the same person the whole time!

I know Jesus is the Father
I know Jesus is the Son
I know Jesus is the Holy Ghost
And all these three are One
Let me tell you who Jesus is…

  12. 14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

The Word is what makes is strong everyday and keeps us going and provides us with power to overcome the enemy. As I rebuilt my altar I go to pray the last couple mornings I struggle to pray for a extended amount of time. But, God! I know that by prayer I can overcome all things! I know that I will overcome the enemy. My Altar is still being worked on but at least I’m using it now!

  13. 1 John 2-3-4 [Amp] And this is how we may discern [ daily , by experience] that we are coming to know him [ to perceive, recognize, understand , and become better acquainted with Him ]. If we keep
( bear in mind, observe, practice). His teachings
( precepts, commandments). [ 4] Whoever , I know Him . I perceive, recognize, understand and am acquainted with Him). But fails to keep and obey His commandments ( teachings) is a liar, and the truth [ of the Gospel] is not in him. The more that we study the more kingdom obeintence that we will have. “Halaula ” Praise God!

  14. I John
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

The works of the flesh must be submitted to God .
Attitude plays a great part of living for God. Attitude becomes character then behavior. If we continue to serve God we can flee from the works of the flesh . Daily bathe in His presence. He will clothe us with His strength. Thank you for again the word to give us daily strength caring to guide and encouraging in this world of sin.

  15. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

A subject carried through the chapter: keep His commandments and you will know Him. Doing the will of God keeps us close to Him, it’s what pleases Him. If we want relationship with God, this is our part of the deal. He already showed us an immense amount of love, now we must continually show love back for Him by pleasing Him through our lifestyles.

  16. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning.

It is so important that we sow into our children from an early age the Word of God. It will forever resonate in their spirit, if they hear it and see it applied as they are growing up. We have the promises of the Lord to stand on that if we hid the word of God in our heart, we will not sin against Him. The word is alive, sharper than a two edged sword, cutting asunder deception and lies from the enemy, leading and guiding us on a daily basis. We must equip our children with these same tools, so they can use the arsenal they have been given, when needed.

  17. If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is still living in darkness. Anyone who loves a fellow believer is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble. But anyone who hates a fellow believer is still living and walking in darkness. Such a person does not know the way to go, having been blinded by the darkness.
    1 John 2:7‭-‬11 NLT

The old commandment was to love your neighbor as yourself. The new command was to love one another as Jesus has loved us. Love brings the light of God into any situation. We can keep others from stumbling by bringing in the light of God and showing them the way.

If we don’t have this love in our hearts to share the light, then we are deceived. We think we are walking in the light, but we are still in darkness. Instead of the light blinding us to people’s faults, the darkness has blinded us to their needs, as well as our own. If we walk in the light, however, as He is in the light, we will have fellowship because the love of God will flow through us to all around us.

Love brings light. It shows us the right path in every situation. A lack of love causes us to remain in darkness, and darkness brings blindness. Without love flowing through us, we have no clarity, no direction, no vision.

Many people stumble around believing their lives would brighten up if they just had someone to love them. Yet, the truth is that light comes from love flowing out, not in. As one tiny candle flows outward to lighten a room, the love of God flows outward to lighten the lives of others. When we love others as Christ has loved us, we bring light to their world as well as to our own.

  18. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

If we truly want to know Jesus and be known by him we must keep his commandments and die daily at the altar. This will make it so that others may see Jesus in us as we live our daily lives.

  19. 12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

If we will do the His Will/First the Kingdom, then we will abide with Him forever. We know what to do, we know the Word of God to help someone else see the truth. If you dont think so, then how were you saved? The question now is, how is your alter? Seek ye First the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

  20. “They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:19, 22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I know growing up in the church I’ve come to think the antichrist is the ONE individual that will ultimately lead fellow believers astray and will oppose everything that is Christlike. In past history people have even been deemed the Antichrist and often times we’re taught to believe that it really is just one individual. However, that assumption is proven wrong because this passage clearly says that multiple antichrist live among us in our every day life. An antichrist is simply somebody that denies Christ and preaches that his word is not truth.

Another version puts it like this…

“They left us, but they were never really with us. If they had been, they would have stuck it out with us, loyal to the end. In leaving, they showed their true colors, showed they never did belong.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:19‬ ‭MSG

What are your true colors? Are that radiating God’s anointing that he’s placed on you and drawing others to him? Or are they denying Christ and leading others astray?

  21. “And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments. If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:3-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The evidence of someone knowing God, and fellowship with Him is that he does keep His commandments. A simple, loving obedience is a natural result of fellowship with God.

  22. Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us. But you are not like that, for the Holy One has given you his Spirit, and all of you know the truth. So I am writing to you not because you don’t know the truth but because you know the difference between truth and lies. But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
    1 John 2:18‭-‬21‭, ‬27 NLT

But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
    Matthew 13:25‭, ‬27‭-‬30 KJV

Jesus, I pray that we walk in fellowship with you, Lord. That even as the tares grow among Your people we would be so dedicated to You that as You remove them it would not uproot any of Your children. I thank You Lord for this great Kingdom You allow us to operate in. I love You Lord. Jesus name

  23. Do you know Him or know of Him?

“Whoever says, “I have come to know Him,” but does not habitually keep [focused on His precepts and obey] His commandments (teachings), is a liar, and the truth [of the divine word] is not in him. But whoever habitually keeps His word and obeys His precepts [and treasures His message in its entirety], in him the love of God has truly been perfected [it is completed and has reached maturity]. By this we know [for certain] that we are in Him: whoever says he lives in Christ [that is, whoever says he has accepted Him as God and Savior] ought [as a moral obligation] to walk and conduct himself just as He walked and conducted Himself.”
    ‭‭1 JOHN‬ ‭2:4-6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The evidence of someone truly knowing God is that they keep His commandments.

Our love for God will show itself through obedience, and the presence of this obedience and love gives us assurance that we are walking in truth and therefore are abiding in Him.

  24. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Let the mind that was in Christ also be in me. When I draw close to him I can see people and situations like he sees them. I have a love for souls and for the church like he does. I can walk in his commandments through the power of the Holy Ghost and overcome this flesh by blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony!

  25. 9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

It has taken me a long time to say this but, I love you, miss you and I do not hate you. My anger towards you is not here anymore, all that is left is tears. Tears that pray for forgiveness, health, revelation, understanding, and blessings.

I began to rarely pray for anything else but you.
God keep you safe and bring you home!

  26. “And this is how we know [daily, by experience] that we have come to know Him [to understand Him and be more deeply acquainted with Him]: if we habitually keep [focused on His precepts and obey] His commandments (teachings).”
    ‭‭1 JOHN‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭AMP‬‬
For us to know God it is a daily experience. It’s not enough to just have knowledge of him. We must truly know him. We must love what he loves and hates what he hates. We will only no him deeply as we spend time in prayer and his word.

  27. Blessed are those that have seen sin face to face. That has overcome temptation. Jesus make me strong so when I see the wicked one i May be able to walk away. Give me your wisdom and your eyes. Your heart that gives me salvation.
“I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  28. “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When we are told not to love the world, the Bible is referring to the world’s corrupt value system. Satan is the god of this world, and he has his own value system contrary to God’s

“Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This scripture details exactly what Satan’s system promotes: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the boastful pride of life. Every sin imaginable can be summed up in those three evils; envy, adultery, pride, lying, selfishness, and more spring from those three roots.

The world is what we leave when we come to Christ,
forsaking of our own ways and thought.
The world often applauds sin. Hollywood encourages us to envy sinners and to foolishly compare ourselves with the “beautiful people” Or the popularity of “stars”. They have the ability to stir in us dissatisfaction with our own lives. Advertisers prey on our natural tendency to love this world, and most marketing campaigns appeal in some way to the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, or the pride of life.

God tells His children to set their priorities according to His eternal value system. We are to “seek first” God’s kingdom and righteousness

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬

No one can serve two masters, and we cannot be devoted to both God and the world at the same time.
When we become God’s children, God gives us the ability to exit (leave) this world behind. Our desires turn heavenward and begging to store up eternal treasures.
If we continue to love the world the way unbelievers do will cripple our spiritual growth and render us fruitless for God’s kingdom.

“Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭12:25-26‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    • This scripture instead of Corinthians

“For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.”
      ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  29. 9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

You can’t say that you live in the light, that you are a child of God or that you love everyone, if you have hate in your heart against your neighbor. Hatred and the love of Jesus just don’t mix.

12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

Teach the Children. So they can learn.
    Fathers/Elders should know these things.
For we have overcome as young men/adults.

  30. 28 And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.

There are so many videos online of dogs with a look of shame when they have broken or done something wrong, and the owner has caught them. When reading this scripture it came to mind and made me wonder how many times has Jesus seen that same look of shame from each of us.

Just as we wish the best behavior and smart choices from those who we are leading and guiding; rather pups, kiddos, or even peers, our Heavenly Father wishes that plus more for each of us. So remain in fellowship, keep your alter!

  31. 1 John 2:27 (nlt), “But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true – it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.”

This verse made me think of St. John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

  32. We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
    1 John 2:3‭-‬6 NIV

  33. I John 2:2-6 Here’s how we can be sure that we know God in the right way: keep his commandments.
If someone claims, “I know him well!” But doesn’t keep his commandments, he’s obviously a liar.

We must make sure our lives match our words, strive to live the same kind of life Jesus lived.

    First the Kingdom❤️

  34. “My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.”
    ‭‭#dont sin

  35. “My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.”

If anyone does sin we have an advocate who pleads our case before the father

  36. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

When have an Advocate with the Father; one who has undertaken, and is fully able, to plead in behalf of every one who applies for pardon and salvation in his name, depending on his pleading for them. He is “Jesus,” the Saviour, and “Christ,” the Messiah, the Anointed. He alone is “the Righteous One,” who received his nature pure from sin, and as our Surety perfectly obeyed the law of God, and so fulfilled all righteousness. All men, in every land, and through successive generations, are invited to come to God through this all-sufficient atonement, and by this new and living way. The gospel, when rightly understood and received, sets the heart against all sin, and stops the allowed practice of it; at the same time it gives blessed relief to the wounded consciences of those who have sinned.

  37. “I am writing to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I am writing to you who are young in the faith because you have won your battle with the evil one. I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:13-14

We see a message to both the new in faith and the seasoned with faith. There’s wisdom and there’s strength. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how long you’ve claimed to live for God because if you don’t build relationship with him then it’s like he never new you. So it’s almost like you’re brand new. But as soon as you start your walk with God, reading, praying, seeking then you can say you’re maturing in the Lord!

  39. 9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.

We must love like Jesus does!

If he loved us despite our sins, we must love others despite their sins and mistakes.

  40. 1 John 2:1-2
    1) My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
    2) And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

  41. 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

We cannot serve two masters, we either serve God or mammon. The god of material things. That is the world, what perishes and have no eternal value.

  42. Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.
    1 John 2:15‭-‬16 NLT
These verses really sum up what this world has to offer which is not a whole lot. You could also say it has a lot of pain and sorrow also. Whereas The blessing of the Lord , it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22 KJV
You could also use the word temporary to describe what the world has to offer: temporary pleasures, cravings and boasting about temporary things and accomplishments.

  43. “I have written to you, children, because you have come to know the Father. I have written to you, fathers, because you have come to know the One who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, God’s word remains in you, and you have had victory over the evil one.”(1 John ‭2:14‬ ‭HCSB‬)

What I learned in this verse is that the word of God is not just for souls that know the creator the one that is the beginning or the ones that are strong and that Gods word remains in them but it’s for all that are willing to come to the creator the one that is the author & finisher of our faith but to want to turn away from the wickedness and have victory over the evil one.

  44. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Love is measured by action. We can say all day long that we love something or someone but it’s not till we put our action into it that we truly show it. Jesus told us that if we love Him then we will keep his commandments.

  45. The Sun gives off light and heat, and we need both to make the Earth a warm, comfortable place to live. Plants use light from the Sun for photosynthesis, creating food for animals and oxygen for us to breathe. Sunlight makes our days bright, and it reflects off the Moon to give us light at night.

This chapter talked about ”true light” we must go back to the original source of light, the sun. The sun doesn’t just give off light heat but provides a means to give us energy and food. The sun is a very powerful source and as sons kg God we must learn to not be the man made source of light but allow the original source to flow through us.

  46. 3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

As we seek to keep His Kingdom first, we must walk continually in His ways, obeying His commands, leading people to Him. When we set our desires aside for His will, that we might obey His Word, we show others how we put His Kingdom first.

  47. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

  48. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

Love is not just feels, to love God it’s keeping Him and His Word first. The love of God is perfected because it’s not just something we’ve heard but also obeyed. We listen and act for those we love. But God wants us to take it a step further by Him and His Word abiding in us, then we are in Him.

  49. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Knowing you live in the light with God should give you joy and excitement. You are under God’s authority, grace and protection. Not only with God, but you have unity with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

  50. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

I have seen many people follow the pleasures of this world and loosing their own salvation. I have realized that a couple a more dollars is not going to replace my time with God, hearing His Word, coming to church, outreach, etc. All the things of this world are all temporary that will never satisfy us and give us that joy we’re looking for. The only one that can truly give us that joy is Jesus. Every time I make a decision I have to take a step back, pray, and analyze if it’s going to hinder me or help me get closer to God. We have to realize that everything that is in the world is going to stay the only thing we can take with us is our friends, family, and lost souls. This is what we’re able to rejoice about and realize that I am going to be able to rejoice in heaven with my friends and family. #firstthekingdom
