1 John 5

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

  1. Jesus Christ — He is the One who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water, and the blood — and these three are in agreement.
    1 John 5:6‭-‬8 HCSB

And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on the cross —not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit, who is truth, confirms it with his testimony. So we have these three witnesses — the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and all three agree.
    1 John 5:6‭-‬8 NLT

This is He who came through water and blood [His baptism and death], Jesus Christ–not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. It is the [Holy] Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. [He is the essence and origin of truth itself.] For there are three witnesses: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three are in agreement [their testimony is perfectly consistent].
    1 JOHN 5:6‭-‬8 AMP

The KJV adds “in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness” to verses 7 and 8, but these words were not in the early Greek manuscripts. In fact, these words were never known to have been penned at all until after 1200 A.D. and did not make it into any Greek copies of Biblical manuscripts until after 1500 A.D. when pressure by the Catholic Church was put on Erasmus to include them in the third edition of his manuscript.

The passage (known as the Comma Johanneum) was added to later manuscripts to support the Trinitarian doctrine, which had been developed in the 4th Century A.D. Neither these words, nor the doctrine of a triune God, were known by the Apostle John or by any of his contemporaries. To the contrary, rather than support the so-called doctrine of the trinity, verses 7 and 8 actually support the born again experience preached by all the Apostles: the Spirit, water, and blood testified of the death, baptism (representing burial), and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Accordingly, verse 10 states: “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.” The “record,” or “witness,” is the agreement of Spirit, water, and blood (mentioned in the previous verses) in testifying that Jesus was the anointed Son of God manifested in the flesh to take away the sins of the world.

Each true born-one of God in every generation since Calvary has this witness in himself: that he has been born of the water, covered in the blood, and baptized with the Spirit. For, the testimony “is perfectly consistent” from the time of Christ until now: you must be born again. The blood of Jesus must be applied through baptism in His name, and we must rise to walk in newness of life by receiving the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead. Thus, the following verses are in perfect agreement with the witness in verse 10:

“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
    Mark 16:16 KJV

“…God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us…by the resurrection of Jesus Christ”
    1 Peter 3:20‭-‬21 KJV

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
    Acts 2:38 KJV

God’s Word is always perfectly consistent!

  2. Verses 6-8 MSG “Jesus—the Divine Christ! He experienced a life-giving birth and a death-killing death. Not only birth from the womb, but baptismal birth of his ministry and sacrificial death. And all the while the Spirit is confirming the truth, the reality of God’s presence at Jesus’ baptism and crucifixion, bringing those occasions alive for us. A triple testimony: the Spirit, the Baptism, the Crucifixion. And the three in perfect agreement.” These verses reminded me of the song “Let Me Tell You Who Jesus Is” as it says:

Let me tell you who Jesus is
He’s the Rock of all ages
He’s the Alpha and the Omega
    He’s the Heavenly Father
He’s the Beginning and the End
Much more than this my friend
    He’s the son of man
    He’s coming back again

I know Jesus is the Father.
I know Jesus is the Son.
I know Jesus is the Holy Ghost
and all these three are One.

  3. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

When we are saved and sanctified by the power of repentance, baptism in Jesus name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in new tongues when are a new creature. Changed from what we were to what God desires us to be. It is a work in progress, because we are washed in the blood of the lamb and covered by his name doesn’t mean we are going to be able to stroll right into eternity with Jesus and all will be well. There are things that we are going to have to do day by day, that will allow us to continue to strive toward perfection. We will have to continue steadfast in the doctrine of the word and to seek first the kingdom of God daily.

Paul stayed in 1 Corinthians 15
31I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

This statement is true in every aspect that we must be submitted to the will of God to receive the victory over this life. We are going to face trials and tribulations to the very end. But they that endure and have faith to believe that God is God and hold fast to our faith we will surely be saved.

Romans 8 reminds me that we are able to overcome this world by the power of Jesus:

35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

If we hold fast we will reap the glory of the lord.

    I love the Kingdom!

  4. 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen

Idolatry can be one of the most undetected sins that someone can have. A person you can claim Christianity and simultaneously being an adulter to Christ giving more attention something else. I believe that we must be vigilant what we give our attention time and money to because that reveals God is to us. And in America Idolitry is more rampant han it has ever been, it’s a country that used to please God as his highest priority and now been placed on the back burner in case of emergency. Our God is determined by our lifestyle not our words and church attendance.

  5. If I want victory every day then I should come to my altar , I want to overcome and win with Jesus. . By ob3dience we receive his blessings and miracles

We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. And Jesus Christ was revealed as God’s Son by his baptism in water and by shedding his blood on the cross —not by water only, but by water and blood. And the Spirit, who is truth, confirms it with his testimony. the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and all three agree. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. If you see a fellow believer sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it. Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

    Deuteronomy 6:
    14. Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

    15. (For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. KJV

We can’t let the things of this world distract us or take away time we should be giving to Him. Nothing this world has to offer can satisfy our souls, and they sure can’t bring us eternal life!

Only Jesus can satisfy your soul
And only He can change your heart
    And make you whole
He’ll give you peace you never knew
Sweet love and joy and Heaven too,
For only Jesus can satisfy your soul

  7. 1 John 5:14,15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heaters us:
we know that we have the petitions that we desire of him.
    ——
Knowing the voice of God, getting to know him, fellowship
Time, reading His word if we do all of this desiring to be so close to him and know him. We would know what things he wants to give to us.( His will) but not ours.

  8. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

The Father by creation, The Son by Redemption, the Spirit by regeneration, we cant have a relationship with one and not the Other, they are all ONE, we are created by God, but also if God would have decided to NOT leave his throne and wrap himself in flesh we probably would have not been here, because God was just sick of the sinfulness of man, But his Compassion Is unmatched, even in anger he decided that he would give us another chance, but it wasn’t for everyone at the time just for the Jews, but then God heard Cornelius and Boom the Gentiles purpose too, Thank you Jesus, Jesus showed up and died on that tree and gave us life, and gave us a precious gift! The Holy Ghost, so basically God divides himself in all of us, he gives us all a peice of himself when he gave us the Holy Ghost, and now we have the Power, and are we God? Oh no we are NOT, but we are the SONS of God and he loves us so much, thank you Jesus!

  9. Since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe the greater testimony that comes from God. And God has testified about his Son.
    1 John 5:6‭-‬9 NLT
So we know that Jesus died for our sins; then why do we continue to sin. It’s our nature, but we can change that. It’s all about the mindset. Just because we’re born into it: doesn’t mean we have to give into it. Just like temptation; just because it’s there. 🤔 Wow, that is the carnality of man. Just as I go to speak to someone about the unity of God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost. They always go oh; the trinity. No the Godhead; I like how brother Graham broke down the history of how the trinity came about. Cause it surely doesn’t speak of trinity in the bible. Now Godhead; oh yeah. Just like believing in a person because of their testimony. Why can’t we believe in God because of how He testifies for us. Ponder on that for a minute 🤔. We have so little faith in God overall as humans; why because He’s not here in the physical. We tend to trust in what we can see, but we breathe. You can’t see air; it’s not that hard to believe and trust in God. The bible does say; We walk by faith; not by sight. Greater is he that is me; than he that is in the world. I can do all things through Him that gives me strength. This is where I’m at in my walk; still learning to walk by faith and not by sight. Thank you Jesus for ordering my steps this day.

  10. Staying pure means doing the will of God. What is the will of God? Love others. Live holy. Share Jesus and the gospel. It’s not too difficult, it’s proving you love him by actions, not just words.

  11. There is only 1 god, and he told us that we must live without sin or we won’t be able to enter heaven. We have eternal life so we must do our best to be good and not sin to enter heaven.

  12. 6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

    Truth
The word truth is throughout this chapter. I’m so thankful for the Holy Ghost that is able to lead me to the truth when I am willing and obedient. Jesus is the way the Truth and the life. All roads leads to Jesus which is the source of our strength.

  13. 1 John 5: 3-4 (Amp) For the ( true) love of God is this that we do His Commands [ keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not irksome ( burden- some, oppressive, or grievous). [4] For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world and this is the victory that conquers the world , even our faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes by the Word. If you want to be a overcomer and be victorious go to the altar. Build a Altar at your house. We must be born again and Believe and receive his truth. And God will make you a overcomer and be victorious over the world. “Halaula ” Give God all the Praise and Glory. We are the head not the tail, We are victorious and overcommers with our Father in Heaven.

  14. 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Jesus is God!! Keep Him first and demonstrate His love!

  15. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

IF we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, HE heareth us and since we KNOW that HE hears us. Then we SHOULD know also that it is DONE!!!

HALELUJAH!!! IT IS DONE!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  16. 6 This is he that came by water and blood, even JESUS Christ; not by water only, but by WATER and BLOOD. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are ONE.

8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the WATER, and the BLOOD: and these three agree in ONE.

Share this with someone today, Jesus is Lord the bible says so. It says this is HE that came by water and blood (Jesus) and the Spirit (big S) beareth witness. Because thy Word (Spirit) (God) (Jesus) is truth. The Bible says that these 3 are ONE thats right one whole. Its like our mind, body, and spirit. As human beings we cannot be one without the other. on is the controller (mind), the other is the temporary temple (body) and the last one is our eternal being (spirit) but all together were a human being. Without God were just a branch, were just an extension from the vine but God without us is still a vine and can produce more branches. We need Jesus and we need to grasp the oneness revelation and share it with everyone we contact. I believe if we share this and give our scriptural reference then how could someone argue the word of God. JUST DO IT!

  17. 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

These last two scriptures sums up this chapter. If we would truly believe that Jesus is answer for our world, there would be nothing that could stand in our way. When we seek after the Kingdom of God, we seek after the King of Kings, Jesus. He is all we need, he is my provider, my way maker, my love, my all, my King,Jesus. Seek ye First the Kingdom.

  18. “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God reminds us in His word to stay aware of Satan’s schemes, to live alert in this world, and to stay close to Him.
He arms us with the sword, the Word of God, to stand against the enemy’s lies. He equips us with strength, wisdom, and discernment through His own Spirit to stay strong in the spiritual warfare battle. He invites us to spend time in His Presence, through prayer and worship, pressing in to know Him more.
He never leaves us to fend for ourselves in a dark world, but reminds us He is constantly with us, fighting for us, even when we cannot see.
Praying God’s words back to Him, is a powerful weapon against the forces of evil. It is Truth going out. It reminds us that God knows our way and understands what we face today. It builds our faith and our trust in God. It guards our hearts and focuses our minds back on Him. It wins the battle.

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Cor. 10:3-5

“In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
    Rom. 8:37

  19. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

In these verses we read that Jesus,God and the Holy Ghost ARE one and the same; not just in agreement as the Spirit, water and Blood.

  20. And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.
    1 John 5:20‭-‬21 NLT

The word fellowship there can be interchanged with intimacy.
    Intimacy meaning closeness and affection.
We need to have a closeness and be affectionate with our Lord. He calls us to those deeper places. We know Him. Know can also mean to be intimate with. Our relationship with God is meant to be understood at many deeper levels and dimensions. He calls us deeper. Draws us nearer. Cries out for us because He loves us.
Jesus. I’m so thankful that You have called me Your own. I love You, Lord. I bless Your Name!

  21. 17All wicked actions are sin, but not every sin leads to death.

Somewhat of a confusing verse, as we always here sine leads to death. If you willingly sine and know it’s sin, then spiritually you’re dead. It applies to those who refuse God and don’t accept his commandments. For they are already lost. They don’t believe in Jesus the son of God.

Sine that does not lead to death, could be if you unknowingly commit sin. You believe in God, have accepted God as your savior and been baptized. You still want to serve in his Kingdom. God is gracious and forgiving.

Numbers 5:17 “If anyone sins, doing any of the things that by the Lord’s commandments ought not to be done, though he did not know it, then realizes his guilt, he shall bear his iniquity.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

  22. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

When our love and obedience for God grows cold, we do not only harm ourselves – we harm our brothers and sisters also. The damage is done, at the very least, because we are a “drag” on the spiritual progress of God’s people.

  23. iLove the Kingdom in Action

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

This is the altar in action. First, we have to know what the “Will of the Father” is. This only comes by reading the Word of God. How can we pray “according to the will of God” when we don’t know what His will is. We can find the will of God in the Word of God. Next, we have to be at the altar in prayer giving our petitions to the King. We have to believe that he hears us and is going to reward those who diligently seek Him.

  24. 1 John 5
    Overcoming the World
5 Everyone who believes [with a deep, abiding trust in the fact] that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) is born of God [that is, reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], and everyone who loves the Father also loves [a]the child born of Him. 2 By this we know [without any doubt] that we love the children of God: [expressing that love] when we love God and obey His commandments. 3 For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey]. 4 For [b]everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God

Transformation through the blood of Jesus Christ. If we keep our focus on Him and not the things of this world we can be overcomers.
Renewed daily recharged refreshed in the Holy Ghost . Plugging in to the source that gives us daily strength.
Power in the name of Jesus.

This chapter ends with a commandment of how to stay faithful and victorious…….

21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Lord I pray that nothing becomes an idol in my life that would replace my daily alter in Jesus name.
There is no one like You.

  25. 1 John 5:4-5 (nlt)
    4) For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.
    5) And who can win this battle against this world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

So Thankful to Know who JESUS is!! It’s our Faith in Him that causes us to have Victory over this world.

    Thank You JESUS for Faith!
    Thank You JESUS for Victory!

  26. “Little children (believers, dear ones), guard yourselves from idols–[false teachings, moral compromises, and anything that would take God’s place in your heart].”
    ‭‭1 JOHN‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭AMP‬‬
We must diligently Guard our hear and mind. One major thing that would help guard ours heart and mind is making sure to come to the altar everyday. The more we know God the more we want to be like him. Another thing that would help us guard our heart and mind is reading his word every day. Reading his word washes our mind.

  27. 6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood.

Three in one. The Father, the Word, and The Holy Ghost are one. The Spirit, the Water, and the Blood agree in one. In the Bible it is written in John 10:30 I and my Father are one. So many are deceived in thinking that God and Jesus and The Holy Spirit are separate when Biblically it is plainly stated otherwise. I am blessed to know the truth, I believe there’s only One God, One Lord, One faith, I believe there’s only One Name, One way to be saved, It’s through the mighty name of Jesus. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”‭‭John‬ ‭14:6 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:20 Confirmation comes in 3’s it’s something I’ve been taught ever since I was a child and the Bible illustrates with a lot of 2 or 3 scenarios And Great things come from them! “Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”
‭‭Daniel‬ ‭3:24-25‬ ‭ If you’ve been born again of Water in the Name Of Jesus, and washed by the Bood, and filled with the Holy Ghost, then your Spirit (truth) are in agreement that God is One. Be blessed today!

  28. FIRST THE KINGDOM
    ENJOYING JESUS

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Loving GOD and keeping HIS commandments should be the Christian lifestyle. It is often the grievous part that trips us up. At the ALTAR when JESUS gives us an assignment, how often do we consider the assignment to be too hard or uncomfortable, a great challenge or just not in our favorite field of service.

The word grievous is exactly what it sounds like. Resentful, half hearted, lacking desire or passion.

Grievous – 926. barys; weighty, i.e. (fig) burdensome, grave: — grievous, heavy, weightier.

This is our LOVE gauge. When JESUS calls the play do we run the route with passion and expectation or do we just go through the motions and see what happens. The blessing or miracle will be at the destined point, so run the route with excellence and expectation. JESUS will be there right on TIME!

Lets GO obey HIS commandments and witness HIS favor and power as we keep HIS commandments ENJOYING JESUS.

  29. 1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
    Hebrews 11:1 KJV

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
    Hebrews 11:3 KJV

  30. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

When we pray and ask according to His Will, we can have the confidence and the assurance that He will provide.

It is easy for us to only be concerned with our will before God. It is easy for us to get caught up in what we want and forget about His desires for us. But God wants us to see and discern His will through His Word, and to pray His Will into action.

But why would He wait to accomplish His Will until we pray? Because God wants us to want His Will, and that means bringing our will and our plans into alignment with His. He wants us to care about the things He cares about, and He wants us to care about them enough to pray about them.

Prayer is not merely giving our wishes to God, even though He does want to give us the desires of heart. But it is rooted in understanding His Will and His promises and putting them into action with our prayer.

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will Be Done!

  31. “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭5:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
In this scripture is a promise that God has said before. If you have the son you have life.
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:25‬ ‭NKJV
If we give up our lives for his sake we will find life. We have to be willing and trust God in all our walks of life. Let him lead you down the path. His promises are for sure. He’ll give you life if you Lay down yours.

  32. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Seeking him first begins our day with God in our hearts and minds. Then as Bro Smith said, we are aware of him throughout our day, even when working. We overcome the world by activating the power of God in us before ever getting out and about or before we ever encounter any problems or temptations of the day. We have been made overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. We know he has an expected end for us, so exercise your faith and walk victoriously in Him.

  33. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous

    When reading this verse an old song came to mind;

“When you love someone, you’ll sacrifice
    Give it everything you got
    And you won’t think twice
You’d risk it all, no matter what may come”

When we truly LOVE Jesus, is there truly anything that we wouldn’t do for him?

We must choose to Love Jesus truly and completely. Choosing to do it without a grievous heart. It’s easy when its fun, and when it’s something you want to do, the hard comes at times when it’s not what you want to do, but you choose to LOVE more than your personal desires.

  34. If you see a fellow believer[d] sinning in a way that does not lead to death, you should pray, and God will give that person life. But there is a sin that leads to death, and I am not saying you should pray for those who commit it.

Prayer changes everything! I come from a Catholic background not being connected to anyone physically to a Pentecostal church but I did have friends that I grew up with that were Apostolic. Even though they never really would talk to me about church I knew they believed different but I was never interested. It wasn’t till couple years later that my husband evangelized me and in the midst of all that I know that people prayed for the lost people in Del Río. Someone was praying for me even though they didn’t know me. That is what I envision when I pray, praying for all these souls that have backslide, have been wanting to come to church, know nothing about church, etc. Prayer is what makes the difference in everything. I praise God that POFW prays for the souls in Fort Worth because the Lord knows we were about to loose our salvation if it wasn’t for the prayers of POFW. My family was about to split and be lost but I thank God that He send us here and is molding us. Because of prayer my children know how to be saved, have faith, love others, and much more. #Firstthekingdom

  35. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Serving the Lord should not be grievous to us. People who work public jobs, are assigned responsibilities that they must fulfill in order to receive that weekly paycheck. If they grumble and complain about those responsibilities, more than likely their manager would call them in and ask them if they really want the job, and if so to do their job gladly.

However, when it comes to spiritual things, people feel like they don’t owe God anything. They feel they can live any old way, do anything they please, and God should accept them as they are.

He established commandments way back in the beginning and have been passed down to us today. If we love God, keep His commandments. It becomes grievous to those who really don’t have a relationship with Him, and they are living within their own power, and not through the power of the Lord.

Proverbs 13:15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

  36. “All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.”
    – 1 John 5:17 KJV

There’s no such thing as a little sin. All sin is disobedience to God and the reward for it is death! If we love Jesus, we’ll keep His commandments and do His will for our lives.

  37. “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too.”
    ‭‭

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God

  38. Short and sweet….This chapter shows loving God requires Obedience!, so keep seeking First the Kingdom and keep your Altar clean and ready to receive what God has for us.

Real worship is to put all that you are and all that you have on the altar.

  39. 6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

These scriptures really speak to me about in this life and this world there is only my one true way to be saved and it truly shows us in this verse just like in Act 2:38 when Peter said that we must repent and be baptized, here it shows that we have to surrender ourselves to the spirit, be cleansed by the water, and be covered by the blood. I truly love these scriptures.

  40. I Love To Worship The Lord
    (vs:16-17)
John plainly talks about how that we can be confident when we pray. What ever we desire or ask for in our Fathers will we can receive. He also says that we should pray for or brother who slips into sin. (the sin that leads to death)
I am not sure but the sin that John is writing about but does not describe is ( Blasphemy Of The Holy Ghost)

  41. 6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

This verse really speaks to me about how in this world there is only one true way to be saved and reach our heavenly reward just like it says in Act 2:38 where peter said that we must repent and be baptized, we must surrender to the Holy Spirit, we must be cleansed of our sins by going down in Jesus name, and we must be covered by his blood. And through that and dying daily like Paul said is how we’ll overcome sin.

  42. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

Anything you put in front of your life with Christ is idol worship. Christ is the forrunner for the world. He saw you first and will be with you till your last. He wrote the beginning of your journey and will determine your ending. He is most high, above all else and will always go before you when the enemy strikes. When you put Christ first all other things fall into line. TESTIFY!!! WITNESS!!! ATTEST TO THE WONDERFUL THINGS THAT CHRIST CAN DO AS LONG AS YOU PUT HIM FIRST!!!

  43. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

100 % answers from God. This is to sure produce a confidence in us. Albeit, this can only be attained if we ask according to his will. When we seek God we know what it is that He wills. Then we can rest assured that what we ask for will be answered.

  44. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
    1 John 5:21 KJV

John ends this powerful letter with one powerful statement. An idol is anything you put before God in life. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. We have too many little g gods in our lives. We know it can’t compare to the one true God but we let little things get too big of a hold on our hearts, time and money. We just need to ask ourselves what do we spend the most money on? What do we spend the most time doing? Finally, what do we talk about the most? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks! No wonder he said, KEEP yourselves from idols!

  45. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

So so so simple, all we have to do is keep our eyes from the appearance of evil. Jesus is the only God I’m my life! My life is devoted to my God, because his grace and mercy is everlasting and I owe my life to the one who gave his life for me.

  46. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

It’s all in God’s timing! He always hears us when we call on his name and anything we say he can do! Just because he didn’t do it when we wanted or hasn’t yet doesn’t mean he won’t do it. If we believe and trust him to do it then he will do it, all we have to do is ask him! What a great God we serve! I thank you in advance for the prodigals coming home, revival, miracle, signs, and wonders that are coming!

  47. 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

    Thank you Jesus

  48. 1 John 5
    1) Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
    2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commanents.
    3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

  49. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

We can be confident that our God hears us when we call when we ask for something. We have this assurance that he wants good things for us, his children. If we ask according to his will, what we ask for will be done in his Name. It’s his desire to give us good things.

  50. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

All the power was given to the name.

    John 20:31
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

This is why we call on the NAME of Jesus upon sickness, desease, pain, depression, death, baptism, all that we do in word or deed we do calling upon the life giving name, JESUS!

  51. “In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome…”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:3 ‭NIV‬‬

True love for God is willingly doing what he asks of us, not because we HAVE to, or because we NEED to, or because we’re TOLD to but simply because we WANT to.

  52. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

ALL unrighteousness is sin. There are no white lies or black lies. There are no small sins or big sins. A sin is a sin ; regardless of shape, size or measure.

  53. These three are one

7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

I talked with a man yesterday that said that he believes in God and Jesus but he doesn’t believe in the Bible. He believes that man has written the Bible how they choose to get man to do their will and not necessarily the will of God himself. I believe the most dangerous thing about this thinking is that there is no one or thing that can keep you accountable if you have nothing to measure by. That bible is there for us as an example of how to live and how to die. If we do not believe that the Bible is the truth then we are only subject to mens doctrine and will and there is nothing greater to measure by. If a preacher is preaching his opinion and not the Bible then I would have to put all my faith in that man alone and none in God. However if it is the infallible word of God Almighty then we have a plumb line, something to measure from and against. Now I can hold anyone that teaches or preaches to me accountable for their words. If we are truly Apolstolic just as we cannot separate God into a trinity, we cannot believe on him and not his word.
